Rowen has always been mindful of others first, ever since his teen-aged years; his mother, believe it or not, raised him well on her own. He tends to put others needs first and seems rather selfless in his actions. He doesnât think twice about giving a servant an âoff day,â which earns him a lot of grief from other people of his same social status. They are not short to scoff at him and shake their heads. However, Rowen blows them off easy with the wave of his hand, not really thinking twice about it; he knows most of them did not have to work for what they had, so therefore they donât really understand the struggle of having to work underneath someone else and so forth. He will always be considerate, despite a slightly cold front he puts up at times, it is a main trait of his.
No matter what heâs doing, Rowen always holds a confident air around him. To the young man, failure is not an option. For everyone who thinks he canât, he proves them wrong tenfold and doesnât forget to grin smugly at them when he does so. He likes to win and if he manages to lose it does send him into a heated rage for a while; there is no point in talking to him during this time. He puffs up like an angry, wet cat and walks off from everyone. None-the-less, the next time there is a bet or something else along those lines, it doesnât stop him from being confident in his success. Usually, he does not stop trying at something until he does win. Thatâs where Rowenâs dedication comes in. When he commits to something or someone he wonât give up on that thing or person- it just isnât in him. He likes seeing tasks completed and things accomplished. Maybe this is why Mr. Lincoln has been so successful over the years. That being said, when he sets his mind on something he wants, he will not stop until he gets it.
Although it has taken a while to get where heâs at, Rowen is terribly impatient with certain things. He doesnât ask for much but when he does he expects it to get done. When it comes to his servants he respects them, especially women, but if a task is given to them and they do not do it in a timely manner, heâll get quite mad. He does not really like to wait for things anymore, and usually wants them then and there. It is a personality flaw that heâs tried working on time to time, yet usually, well, loses his patience with the whole ordeal. He is who he is.
Rowen doesnât believe in fantasy or fairy tale, so when shape-shifters were exposed to the world, he had to watch the video a good twenty times. He just could not believe it. Heâs never one to jump to conclusions and always thinks things through before acting; heâs not really impulsive. Actually, Rowen is an over thinker, to be quite honest. He has missed many opportunities in his lifetime by over thinking. Sometimes he wishes he could let go and just do what he wanted for a change, but never has had the nerve. Maybe, just maybe, heâll learn to do what he wants someday, despite what everyone else wants.
Appearance in Description::
Rowen Lincoln stands at 6â0â even with a lean frame. He isnât bulky or extremely muscular, but he is not skinny either; heâs in shape, keeping himself so by working out frequently. His arms and legs are rather long, lined with thinly corded muscle that isnât extremely noticeable unless he is to flex; most underestimate his strength which is a terrible mistake. His facial features are sharply defined, having a sharp chin, a wide, slightly pointed nose and calculating eyes that give his emotions away despite trying to hide them. Said eyes are a steely grey and his hair, kept short, is dirty blonde that is styled atop his head. He usually styles it up nicely but sometimes he lets it go, simply running his fingers through it constantly.
Rowenâs lips are fairly full and seem to be one of the things women comment on the most, telling him things like âhow they wish to kiss him,â and other comments along those lines. Grant you, he does not mind at all. As for facial hair, Rowen lets it go to a stubble before shaving, never really letting it go to a full-on beard. For clothes, he likes to dress nice. Khakis and a nice button down or polo, sometimes wearing jeans. Being a businessman, it isnât rare to see Rowen in a suit and tie; he has a lot of meetings, after all.
Thoughts about Shifters/Slaves?::
âI feel bad for them, to be honest. I donât think it is right for them to be treated like theyâre anything less than a person. They are people- just people with a special ability. Thatâs all. I wouldnât blame them for being hostile or rude to humans. We took their freedom away, after all. I try to stay out of arguments about them, but I wonât sit back and not act on what I feel is right.â
Why Are You Buying a Slave?::
âItâs simple, really. I cannot do much about the slavery, but I can help some of the shifters at least. Iâm buying shifters to free them- yes, I know this could earn me life in prison. However, I cannot free them right away - that looks suspicious. They have to stay for me awhile. The other masters think I accidentally killed my last slave. Thatâs fine with me, because she is not dead. Sheâs free. And thatâs all I truly want for all of them.â
Short History::
Rowen, unlike most, was not born into wealth; he isn't what one would call a âtrust fund babyâ or anything else along those lines. His father died when Rowen was young (four, to be specific) from a brain tumor and he never really got to know him. Growing up watching his mother struggle with two jobs just to keep them afloat, Rowen vowed when he was older to never have to struggle for anything and to give back to his mom. Yes, heâs a mommaâs boy and has the utmost respect for all women because of her. His mother, Elaine Lincoln, lives in his estate with him now at the age of fifty-two. Besides growing up without a father figure (due to the fact that his mother never felt the need to date or re-marry), Rowen lived a fairly normal life. They moved around a lot, apartment to apartment. When he was younger he had to go with his mother to her evening job at a small, family-owned restaurant. While she worked he sat in a back room and played with the ownerâs large, black Labrador Retriever when he wasn't playing with toy cars.
Through school, though moving was a hassle for the young Rowen, he managed to keep his grades up, never going below a B; his nose was always in the books. He dated a few times but they never lasted too long, always worried about his grades slipping and there was always⊠Being ashamed of his home life. Every time he started getting close to a girl and she started talking about meeting his mom and such, he would push her away. He didnât want anyone to see his home. It was always a small apartment where the roaches seemed to carry things off during the night. Plus, soon after turning fifteen Rowen got himself a part-time job to help pay the bills (heâs worked ever since that young age).
When Rowen started going to college he majored in business, breezing through school easily. Though he is young, he graduated earlier than the usual. Over the years, Rowen has started three successful companies that are going strong still âtil this day. Once this happened it was not long until Mr. Lincoln was rolling in money. His estate was built and his mother was immediately moved in with him. Though Rowen was money hungry for a long time, not use to being able to have whatever he wanted, he didn't forget where he came from. He donates to four different charities monthly.
When shape-shifters were discovered a couple of years ago, Rowen was immediately curious. It has taken him awhile, but he has finally decided to purchase one of his own.
