Forest Lux

"Help me... I can't stand it here."

0 · 242 views · located in Earth

a character in “Hell's Laboratory”, as played by Grumpy-Converse

Description

Image
Name Forest Lux

Age All she knows is her late teens. She is 18 years.

Gender Female

Physical Description Forest has purple hair, though whether it is natural or not, she is unsure. Her eyes are a purple colour, too, just like her hair, which hangs to her shoulders and is naturally straight. She stands at 5'1, and would be considered small for her age, and weighs a measly 75lbs, due to being underfed. She has a heart-shapd face, and her lips are cracked and thin, due to little water given.

Personality Forest has lived in the Lab most of her life- you can only imagine what that would do to a person. She has mental breakdowns when things get too much for her to handle. She is suspicious of everyone and everything. This stops her from making friends, and therefore she is mostly lonely, or depressed. Not that there was much time for 'bonding' in the lab anyway.

Forest will be sweet, once she trusts you. But that trust is as fragile as a piece of glass, just waiting to be dropped. One step in the wrong direction, and there goes her trust, the remains scattered on the floor for someone to pick up. She has been befriended enoigh in the past, just for it to come crashing down, and doesn't plan for that to happen again.

Apart from that, Forest doesn't really know. There was never much time for 'character building' or 'socialising' in the Lab, so she doesn't really have a proper grasp on her personality.

~ Forest has become in contact with her 'inner demon,' giving her quite a but of abilities. The first one is to communicate to the dead. It can only happen at night, and she herself doesn't choose when it will happen. She gets extremely tired afterwards.

~ The next one is letting her demon take over. The evil part of her takes over and she becomes stronger, faster, and more cunning. However, if she stays like this for two long, her evil self will take over. She gets extremely tired afterwards.

~ Shadow Moving. She can teleport using her shadow to a shadow that she can see. This makes her extremely tired.

~ Forest has recently been trying to make duplictaes of herself, but so far has only come up with hologram like figures.

History: Forest was born to Josephine and Arnold Lux, a dentist and a waitor. It was on her way back from school, at the age of eleven, that she was thrown into the back of a black van and taken away to the Lab.

Alesha Maria Bantoff walked down the grey, narrow halls of the Laboratory, giving a slight nod to other people in the Hallway. She finally arrived at a metal door with a plate on it reading Doctor Bantoff. With a slight smirk playing on the corners of her lips, Dr. Bantoff, entered the room.

It was large, to say the least, and had a lot of stuff crammed in. In the corner of the room sat a wooden desk, piles of paper work strewn across the table and a computer in the middle. An ofice chair was beside the desk, where Alesha would sit. She had a few bookcases and cupboards behind the desk, each filled with an assortment of items, and a hospital bed was in the middle of the room. A plastic table with wheels was a few centimetres away from it, and on it sat various venoms and needles. A white clear-glass case propped up against one wall, all sorts of scientific medications in it.

Alesha walked over to her desk and picked up the phone from where it sat on her table. She whistled a tune to herself, waiting for something to happen.

Forest glanced up as the rusty cell door opened, to show two broad men dressed in dark clothes. One of the men gruffly grabbed her arm, his grip so tight that she could feel bruises forming. Forest knew better than to complain, though.

She was brought into a long corridor with seemingly no end. A bald man in a lab coat stepped out of one of the rooms and without a seconds hesitation Forest teleported to his shadow. The men stood there, bewildered, as Forest began running down the hall. One of the men spotted her, and yelled out a gruff "Oi!" as he ran towards her, getting the other man's attention as he did so. The two chased after Forest, and she glanced back at them while taking a turn.

One of the men grabbed her wrist and Forest closed her eyes, deep in thought, her heart pounding against her chest.
"Aha, didn't think you were going to get away that easily, did yah?" the man said. Forest could hear the smirk in his voice. "Wait, why are your eyes close-"
Forest's eyes burst open to shw the Iris's completely red. She lunged at the man, just as the second one came around the corner, and tackled him to teh ground, letting her demon self take over. She scratched at his eyes, punching him in the gut, and kicking his legs. As soon as she spotted the second man, however, she got up and turned aroun, preparing to flee. It wasn't too long, however, until she fell to the ground, exhausted. Overusing her power had left her two weak to even stand.

The man jogged up to her and lifted her up in his arms. "Tut tut, escaping... you know what that means, right? Punishment." Forest could hear the venom in his voice, and felt a deep loathinhg towards the man. She spat at him, making him give a small chuckle.
"That ain't gonna' help your case, sweetheart," he said. Forest fell silent.

He carried her to one of the Doctor's rooms, before laying her down on a hospital bed. She felt binds being fastened around her wrists and ankles, but she was too tired to open her eyes and look. The man murmured something, before the sound of a door openig and closing made Forest open her eyes. As she did so, she saw a young-enough woman looking down at her with red hair and eyes to match. "I heard you were being bad," she trilled in a sing-song voice. Forest gritted her teeth. "We can't allow that, now can we? Let me see..." the woman continued. Forest noticed a nametag reading Dr. Bantoff on the woman's labcoat.

"Aha!"
The woman held up a sharp pointed needle, an evil grin on her face. "So, ready to be punished?"
Forest made a slight whimpering noise, making Dr. Bantoff laugh.
"That's what I thought."

Dr. Alesha Bantoff let out a shrill, high-pitched shriek of manic laughter as she cut the needle into the subject's stomach. Foolish little pest, she thought, with a smirk. These subjects are nothing. Just mindless tools in our plan. She watched as the blood oozed from the subjects wound, and gave another laugh as the girl gave a cry of pain. An evil, insane glint shone in her eye as she picked up another needle, and injected the venom into the Subject's arm.
Anyone passing by would have heard the scream of a girl pleading for help.

_____________

Forest opened her eyes to find her back in her 'room,' or as she liked to call it, prison. She was lying on her lumpy mattress, a bandage wrapped around her stomach, and another around her right wrist. She stood up groggily, her head spinning. As soon as her feet touched the ground, a piercing pain ran up her stomach.
"Ach," she gasped, clutching at her bandages in pain. She knelt down on the ground, taking deep breaths, until she felt stable enough to stand up. She could still remember the pain from where the needle dug into her-

Forest winced. She suddenly noticed the doors were open. After her last escape attempt, she had been 'chaperoned' around the Lab. Seemed like they had let her off the hook... for now.

Forest sighed. She knew she should be good, but the thought of The Outside was just too tempting. She knew most of the Subjects wouldn't dream of escaping. She also knew that most of them were treated better than her. Forest presumed it was because they were mostly created in the Lab, where as she was robbed from her home and mutated.

"Come, child."
Forest let out a slight gasp as a woman with silver hair and a silky blue hair appeared at the door. "Follow me..." the woman murmured, as she turned around and floated out of the door, like a ghost. And sure enough, just a few seconds later, she disappeared. Forest blinked, an astonished look on her face. How did...did she just....? "Oh my god," Forest whispered, shaking her head. "Did I just hallucinate...?"

A horrified look passed Forest's face. Not once had she hallucinated before, not even in the... amount of years she had been here. To be honest, she wasn't sure how long she had been here. Was this place driving her insane?!

Forest shuffled out of the door, and walked to the Kitchen, a route she had memorised by heart. She noticed a boy and girl talking, and decided to walk over to them. She pulled her top down over her bandages, wincing slightly as she did so. "You guys been punished yet?" she asked, gesturing to the bandage around her wrist. "This ain't the first time-"

Forest stopped as a bloody scientist with gaping holes for eyes walked up behind the girl. It held up a dagger, and placed it to the girl's neck, though she didn't seem to notice. Forest stumbled back a few steps. "Be...behind..."

The Scientist opened it's mouth in a smile, and Forest let out a bloodcurling scream. As soon as the scream left her lips, the scientist disappeared. Another hallucination.

Jacob smiled down at the blonde girl and carried her into the kitchen, sitting her down in a chair in the corner, focusing water around her so it formed a bubble surrounding her. He was about to apologize to Ebony when another girl walked in, this one with a bandage on her wrist. Must've been punishment for something or another. "You guys been punished yet?" Jacob smirked thinking Darling, have I ever... After being around for so long, of course he had, but there was no way she'd know that. "This ain't the first time-" she raised her wrist as proof when she suddenly stopped in mid sentence. Jacob raised an eyebrow at her curiously. "Be...behind..."

Jacob looked at Ebony, them himself, before glancing over at the blonde girl. No, nothing was there. So what could the girl be...? She screamed. No, it wasn't just a scream, it was a bloodcurdling shriek. It was like something you heard barely escaping the punishment/torture rooms. Was the girl hallucinating? Having a vision? Damn, the possibilities were endless in this place. "Hey...hey, look at me! You're fine, okay? What's your name? You're fine, trust me," Jacob placed his hands on the sides of her face, forcing her to look him in the eyes. This usually worked for calming people down, but he didn't know the girl and had no idea how she'd react to a stranger doing this. Sometimes he forgot that other subjects didn't receive such good treatment as he and his brother did.

He was getting overwhelmed at this point. I need help with this... Jacob closed his eyes and took a deep breath in, deep breath out. "Okay, Ebony, lunch is probably getting prepared in the cafeteria, do me a huge favor and sneak some for you guys. You," he turned to the girl with the bandages, "take some of this," he handed her a clear vial meant to relax patients, "and you," he looked at Payson, "try not to move too much, you're really weak right now."

-Vincent-
"DAMN I'M GOING TO KILL HIM!" Vincent burst out of the room, flames darting off his body. His eyes were a dark red and his jaw was clenched. Oh when I get my hands on him...! He stalked down the corridor and ended up roaming the laboratory, stopping at a random room when he realized he was lost. "Dammit, all the years I've been here and I still get lost," he grumbled to himself. His nervous habit of letting flames play at his fingertips acted up again.

Okay, where to go, where to go...Here's good as anywhere I guess. he opened the door nearest to him with an uninterested expression that quickly changed to surprise upon seeing a girl with orange hair. She was chained to the floor and to the wall, chains surrounded her. She was pretty, he noted that mentally, but he didn't know if she was dangerous or not.

"Um..." he started to speak, then thought better of it. For a while he just stood awkwardly, then started grumbling to himself out of frustration. He had never been good at talking.

"Hey...hey, look at me! You're fine, okay? What's your name? You're fine, trust me," the boy said, placing his hands on either side of her face. Forest shrunk away from his touch, and tried to struggle from his grasp, though she was feeling so weak he probably didn't even notice. The boy dropped his hands, and Forest took a deep breath. "Fo..Forest," she muttered, looking down at her bare feet. "You?"

Calm down. It wasn't real. No mad scientist is going to come and chop your freakin' head off. The worst is over. She glanced back up at the others, where the boy was asking one of the girls to sneak some food. What is happening to me?! she thought, shaking her head slightly. She noticed the boy holding out a clear glass vial to her. Forest took the vial suspiciously, opening it and sniffing it. Nothing too freaky. Forest contemplated throwing it on the ground. What if it's some sort of sedative? she thought, but scolded herself mentally. How was she ever going to get friends if she didn't trust?

Forest gulped down the contents of the vial, closing her eyes tightly, waiting for some side affect. A soothing feeling filled her stomach, and Forest opened her eyes slowly, taking a deep breath. That was... calming.

"Thanks," Forest said, giving a sigh of relief. She handed the vial back to the boy, a shy smile forming at the corners of her lips. Then a thought occured to her. She knew she would probably be punished - again - for saying this, but she couldn't resist. "Have you guys ever thought of... y'know... escaping? I bet if we had enough of us, we could stop them." Forest hasn't meant this as an actual plan, but now that she thought about it, it actually could work. They were stronger than the 'normal humans.' The only problem would be the guns.
Forest quickly rid the thoughts from her head. That wasn't going to happen anytime soon.

Ebony

Ebony blinked as she accepted the apple and Jake went running towards a scream. Moments later he was back with a girl, and soon another girl entered the room, arm wrapped in bandages.
Ebony stepped back slightly, a bit uncomfortable. Though she liked to meet new people she had never been around more than one other person at a time, save the scientists.

"Okay, Ebony, lunch is probably getting prepared in the cafeteria, do me a huge favor and sneak some for you guys." The dark haired girl nodded and cast the other two girls a wide eyed look, before scurrying up the wall like a spider.

The lights weren't as good in the cafeteria as they were elsewhere, so Ebony was able to render herself mostly invisible. She crept silently and unseen along the walls, swiping food and tying it in her sweatshirt. It was always a task to keep the food unseen, as it didn't turn invisibly unless it was right up against her, but it was easily to hide in the high ceilings. She weaved around several workers, grabbing a variety of food, including fruits, yogurt, pizza, fish and cookies. Remembering the one girls water need, she also grabbed a couple of bottled water. She noticed a boy sitting in the corner looking quite annoyed. Shrugging him off, she scurried back to the others, dropping down easily among them.

She kneeled gracefully, setting out everything picnic style, glancing at the girl with bandages first, glad to note she seemed calmer.
"Sorry to interrupt your conversation, but I brought plenty of food so eat whatever you'd like! You too Jake!" Ebony then gave a comforting smile to the blonde sitting farther away. "And you just tell me what you want and I'll bring it over okay?"

Ebony herself quickly dangled one of the small fried fish over her mouth downing it in a few bites. She kept attention on the blonde in case she needed something.
"So, what were we talking about? Are you sure your both okay? My names Ebony. I didn't catch you're names...?"
She snagged a cookie and did a back walkover to land sitting perfectly on a chair, keeping a concerned eye alternating between both girls.

Jacob smiled. Ebony was both useful and a nice to be around. Most of the time, it was one or the other with the scientists. Their creations weren't real in that way. "Thanks, Eb," he smiled and took one of the fish for himself, chewing thoughtfully. To...to escape? In all honesty he hadn't thought about such a thing, even after so many years of being trapped in the laboratory. This subject, no, this girl, she was more human that most in the laboratory. Could it be that the scientists were getting closer to their goal? What then?

His thoughts were beginning to run rampant. Escape... He knew that Vince had talked about escaping more than once, but he had always dismissed it as his loathing for the place, for the scientists, the world itself actually. Neither of them had felt real sunlight, talked to a normal human, none of that. It had always been this laboratory, only the scientists and subjects changed.

"Escape...w-what...what do you mean, escape?" The thought made him uneasy. Could someone overhear them talking about this? Jacob was slowly becoming more and more paranoid, "Forest, where'd you get that idea?" he asked quietly. Escape...no, we can't escape. I-it's impossible, there's no way! We can't jus-...can we? Jacob shook his head once more, clearing the entire notion from his mind. No, they couldn't take that risk, besides, he knew that they still could use development in their skills. Even if they were to try, it'd take some planning.

Try as he might to ignore it, the idea stuck in the back of his mind.

Payson heard voices around her. She was too tired to make out what they were saying for a while, until she heard a word she recognized: Escape. It sparked a longing in her mind, such a longing, to leave this place. She reached out with one arm, grabbing the hand of the handsome boy, Jacob.

“Take me with you,” She mumbled from her chair. There were other people around her, other people that she hadn’t seen or heard enter. But there they were. Payson was surprised, she thought that she was the only one down here. But maybe not.

Ebony

.....excape...?

Ebony paled.
Even as Jake began planning.... She just couldn't go through it again.
"It sounds good doesn't it.... and it is good. Until someone finds you. And when you have a noticeable mutation... you can't stay hidden forever, okay? And people die. A lot of people die. Good people, people your friends with..."
Ebony stood back up as she began trembling.
"Look, I don't know any of you. I don't know things about you, you don't know things about me. But know this. You can escape. I 'escaped', from my first lab. But you're never truly free."

Tears slid down Ebony's pale cheeks as she became emotional, and with a little hiccup she turned away. "I'm sorry. I just... I don't think I can do that. Not right now."
She leaned down and grabbed a cookie before walking quickly out the door, missing the usual spring in her step.

Payson didn’t listen to Jacob’s rambling. She was fixated on his eyes—They were so watery and shimmery, she couldn’t take her eyes off them. But—no. She shook the thought out of her head, and instead thought of escaping. She knew there was a world above the lab, but she had never seen it, and had never had the courage to ask the doctors. The thought of escape filled her with hope.

She noticed a ring of water floating around Jacob’s wrist. It glowed with a lovely blue radiance that Payson couldn’t give enough of. It was just like his eyes. Entrancing. Of course, water always did that to her. She loved it for a reason. She needed it to survive. She knew she needed to get out of here if she was to fulfill her own needs.

"Let's escape," she whispered again, with a little more strength, "As soon as possible. I need to get out of here."

Forest watched as everyone contemplated escaping. Yes, yes! her mind screamed. This could work!

"Foolish child," a man with a large mohawk as he walked up to the group. "You will be putting their lives at risk. It won't even work. It's useless." The man faded away, and as Forest expected, none of the others had noticed him. Another hallucination. But he was right.

"Guys, guys!" she said, waving her arms in an attempt to calm them down. "It... it was just a thought, like! Not a question! We would need almost all the mutations, it would never work," she said. She bit her lip nervously. What had she done?

Ebony had started to walk away, tears falling down her face.
What did I do?! Forest mentally cursed herself, and started jogging fter the girl. "I'm Forest!" she yelled back at the others. She turned the corner, but couldn't see the girl. "Um...Eb!" Forest yelled, using the name Jacob had used. "We aren't going to... y'know!" she took a deep sigh, then jogged back to the others, picking up a piece of fruit as she did so.

"...look. I didn't mean for us to escape..and Ididn't mean to hurt anyone's feeling sor anything. It wouldn't work, anyway. Like-" Forest getured to Jacob, forgetting his name "- said, we have no chance. It would take loads of planning, and I know my powers haven't fully developed yet." Seeing a chance to change the subject, Forest piped in; "What is everyone's powers anyway? Mine is my 'inner demon.'" She didn't bother explaining what she meant - if they were curious, they would ask, and besides, she was mich more curious to know their powers.

_________

Marik entered the room while Alesha was testing on a subject - a girl named Moira, to be precise. He glanced at Moira with keen dislike.
"Foolish girl, you're barking up the wrong tree." Alesha wasn't sure who he was talking to, but decided to take it as an insult. "You know I hate it when people come in duri-" she started through gritted teeth.

"You're doing it all wrong. You have to cut out her tongue so she makes no loud screaming." Marik handed her a sickle out of his jacket, and turned to leave, before thinking of something else. "I'd like my sickle back when you're done."

He strode out of the room, undoutedl a smirk on his face. "You know, I am just as professional as you are!" Alesha yelled after him angrily. She took the sickle, contemplating whether to use it. the screaming did get annoying, but using it would give him the satisfaction of knowing he helped.

After a few moments of thought, Alesha bent over the weeping girls body, and prepared to cut out her tongue.

Vincent didn't reply with anything but his name, "Vincent," before walking towards her. He stopped about two feet from her and bent down slightly to see her face more clearly. "Why do you have chains?" it was a childish question, but in a sense he was a child. He hadn't had communication with other subjects, and when he did, it wasn't friendly. This was more of a first time situation. He brushed her bangs out of her eyes without thinking. His thoughts were running at a thousand miles. What was he doing?! Why was he touching her?? Leave!! He had wanted to see her eyes, maybe that was the reason. Whatever it was, it was too late and he had already done it. He smiled a very, very small smile. The tiniest twitch of facial muscles, not even noticeable to anyone in the dark room.
"I'm sorry," was his response. He quickly left the room, his face turning bright red and his teeth clenched together tightly.
He closed the door and leaned against it, "What the hell was that??"
He saw someone yell down the hall, a girl. Upon closer inspection he recognized Jacob with them. Glaring at him, he aimed his fire at him and released it in a small, spear-like shape. Jacob saw it two seconds before it hit him and gathered a wall of water from somewhere to his right, flinging at the spear and causing it to dissipate into smoke and steam.
"Sometimes I hate being the weaker element," he grumbled. Vincent shoved his hands into his pockets as he went towards them. He wanted Jacob to take him back to his room since he had no idea where he had gone.
"Hey, Vince!" Jacob smiled and waved cheerfully. He grumbled in return.
"Look, I have no idea whe-....who are they?" he stopped mid-sentence to ask who the other people in the kitchen were.
"Oh, this is Payson, and this is Forest. Forest, by the way I have sort of a water affinity-type power, and Vinny here's got fi-"
"WHY DO YOU HAVE TO CALL ME THAT?!" Vincent shouted and pinned his brother to the wall. He really was not in the mood for his little jokes.
"Fire!" Jacob finished with a smile.

Yuji grimaced as he was pulled out of a truck and stared being dragged foreword by two large men in suites. It had been a long trip and he had no idea where he was. he had been stuck in that truck for what two? three days? "Where am I-" he started to say before he was interrupted my a guard.

Be quite you freak, you are at your new home the guard got an evil smirk on his face. As he walked though a door into a room which he believed to be the main entrance. he was lead down stair's and though hallway's untell a group of teen's came into sight. the guard pushed him foreword tell he was right next to them. the guard spoke in a loud voice not caring that he was interrupting there conversation and said "Hay freak's i got a new one here to become one of your little group, show him the ropes and so forth because I'm out of here" he then turned around and left Yuji standing there in front of the group.

"Umm hello may i ask what is this place? What are we doing here?" Yuji asked the group in general feeling lost and confused at his current predicament. whale he waited for someone to tell him what was going on he looked over the group real quick. hmm these are some odd one's he thought to himself not that he was one to judge others, himself being very odd.

These are some odd ones Rowan could hear the thought. Her head lifted from the rat and she walked slightly quicker. If she could find the source of the thought, maybe she could see if he knew where the kitchen was. She looked down at the little rat in her hands. Do you know the way? she smiled. She couldn't communicate with the little thing, but it was nice being able to hold him. As Rowan neared a group of teenagers who looked about the same age as her, she felt mini 'Ambrose' squirming. To her disappointment, it jumped from her hands and ran to a boy who was sitting down alone with a tray of food. She wasn't sure, but she was almost certain that she did indeed hear it.
Please talk to me it was a sad voice. Rowan frowned slightly and looked at the group. They were in the main part of the kitchen, but from the looks of it, it was getting rather close to full. She hesitantly followed the rat and walked quietly to where the boy was. Rowan stopped in front of his table and looked at him with big eyes. She bit her lower lip, debating whether or not to say, or rather, think to him. She suddenly felt attention on her from him and felt her face turn red. Rowan hurried over to the counter with food behind it, slipping on the somehow wet tile in the process.
She bit her lower lip harder, almost drawing blood. Her eyes cringed close with embarrassment and she quickly pushed herself up off the ground. Clumsy, clumsy, clumsy! She just wanted to get the milk carton for Dr. Ambrose and get out before she messed up again.
She looked around the counter, not seeming to find what she was looking for. Come on, come on, it has to be somewhere she thought desperately.

Vincent looked at a girl who was entering the cafeteria, frowning as she fell. Too clumsy. He felt bad for her though, it was bad enough to be in here. But he looked closer. The card, it was what some of the younger scientists had. He frowned more but didn't say anything.

Jacob, on the other hand, was oblivious to the accident he had caused with his water. "Oh, you don't know yet...Well, I'm sorry to inform you, but you are currently in Black Rock Desert, Nevada. We're underground right now, and you were probably brought in here for more tests or experiments, assuming you come from another laboratory. My name's Jacob, I kinda like Jake better, and this is my brother Vinn-I mean, Vincent. This is our friend Forest, and that girl over there is Payson. We're all subjects here, er, patients..." Vincent looked at him with a slightly annoyed look.
"Sure he knows enough from that?" Jacob frowned in return.
"What's your name?" Jacob asked him. He offered a friendly smile. Yeah, he might've been overdoing it, but he'd need it here. It's nice to get some people to talk to.
Vincent sighed before suddenly remembering something and hurrying back to his room, mumbling something to himself. Jacob looked after him but didn't try to stop him. He then looked back at the new guy.

"Yuji" he said after a small pause to think about what he said "thanks for the info" Yuji turned to see a girl who fell down get up and start to look around for something "this place is similar to the last lab I was at when it comes to the building structure although the staff seems to be a little hostel ..... " looking back at the girl from before no one seemed to have helped her and sh looked like she was looking for something, bugging him and being unable to resets the urge he said "one second ill be right back, oh and thanks for the intro, hope we can be good friends" and he gave each member of the group a smile and threw in a wink to the Forest girl" and walked over to the girl from who was looking around and said "Hi, you looking for something? Jacob frowned. Guy never really had been as happy as he was. Admittedly, he was in a way giving false hopes to the subjects. He sighed and began his nervous habit once more. He thought it was worth a shot giving them at least one thing to live for, but Guy was right. Jacob said somewhat deflated, "Yeah, he's right. Odds are...well, they're stacked against subjects." He offered a small smile nonetheless. "It's fine, Guy. Better to tell them anyways so they know what to expect," he reasoned. Really though, he should've been smarter than to get them so hopeful.
"Forest, inner beast," he nodded to her direction as a way of introducing them. "Payson, fish hybrid."
"This is Guy, oldest of the subjects," he said, not bothering to give any long introductions.

Forest watched as Jacob and 'Vinny' fought it out. Seemed she had at least been able to change the subject, as Jacob turnedto her and told her his power was "sort of a water-affinity type power," and that 'Vinny' had, "Fire!" Forest grinned at the two boys hopefully playful arguing. "Hey, 'Vinny'," she said with a small smirk. Just then a boy walked in -well rather, was forced in by guards - looking very confused.

"Umm hello may i ask what is this place? What are we doing here?"
Jacob answered before Forest could put in the little information she knew.
We're all subjects here, er, patients..." Forest didn't miss the annoyed glance Vincent gave Jake, and vaguely wondered what that was about.

"Subjects," Forest said, slightly more forcefully than she intended. "Not patients. Subjects. Patients makes it sound like we need fixing." Forest crossed her arms. "I was perfectly fine the way I was before." She mumbled the last part, in fear of someone overhearing them.

Vincent walked off after murmuring something that Forest couldn't make out.
"Yuji," the boy said. "This place is similar to the last lab I was at when it comes to the building structure although the staff seems to be a little hostile..."
"You get used to it..." Forest said grimly. She thought about it for a second. "Well, sort of. And you were at a lab before this?" That sounded... unusual. Was that normal in this place? The boy turned his head to look at a girl that had fallen. He looked upset. That's life... Forest thought, mentally rolling her eyes. Why worry over someone you don't even know? She shook her head. He obviously does know her. You retard.

"One second I'll be right back, oh and thanks for the intro, hope we can be good friends," Yuji said, giving Forest a wink. Forest blushed slightly and gave him a small smile in return.

"Did I miss fun happy play time or is it just recess for the young an retarded?"
Forest swivelle her head to see who had spoken. "Young and retarded? And fun happy play time?! Do you not know where we..." Forest trailed off as she spotted the tall, red haired man who had joined their group. Her eyes widened as she took him in. He... isn't bad looking, she noted.

"Welcome to hell new comers, I am not sad to say I doubt many of you will last long enough to really get to know someone. Jacob, come on you've been here long enough to not be instilling hope into these young ones."
"New comers? I've been here for..." Forest thought about it for a second. "Well, I'm not sure. Since I was young, anyway."

"They call me guy, I've been here longer than I can literally remember. Odds are I'll see you die here, but hey, thats our lot in life isn't it?" the man continued, seemingly oblivious to the fact that Forest had spoken. Forest gritted her teeth at his last comment. Unfortunately, yes... she thought. "Guy? Creative," she commented.

"It's fine, Guy. Better to tell them anyways so they know what to expect," Jacob piped in. Not like I was expecting anything better from his shit hole anyway, Forest thought to herself.
"Forest, inner beast, Payson, fish hybrid," he continued. Yes. That was smart, letting a Beta, according to 'Guy' know my power. Aren't they pretty much the best of the best? And the goody-two-shoes... she thought. And I told him I thought about escaping. Amn't I clever?
"This is Guy, oldest of the subjects," Jake said.

Forest raised an eyebrow, pretending not to be impressed. Oldest of the subjects...? Woah. How long has he been able to live in this Hell Hole?
"Oldest of subjects...You make it sound like a grand title or something. The only thing 'special' about me is that they can't seem to kill me. Not that it doesn't hurt everytime." Guy gave a sigh, and Forest turned to look at him again. Woah.. he is freakin' gorgeous. She felt a twinge of sympathy as he said "Not that it doesn't hurt everytime." What a messed up life they all had.

"Just like that incident with your brother, took me weeks to get all my skin back. I'll pretend to be interested, Forest and Payson is it? Charmed I'm sure." So Vincent was Jake's brother. Weeks to get his skin back? Why would any Subject do that to another one? The Scientists were the enemy! "Very charmed," Forest said sarcastically, silently hoping he couldn't read her mind or something.

Rowan smiled and started walking to where she thought it could be, but paused and looked at the group of people in the kitchen. Something about them seemed interesting. She looked at first the girl named Forest, slowly peeking into her thoughts. No information on the location of Dr. Ambrose. She looked at the man close to her Rowan felt her eyes widen and she held onto her package a little tighter. He was gorgeous. She wasn't sure what it was about him but something was just...Rowan shook her head to get herself out of the trance and looked at the guy with black hair. His thoughts were the kindest out of the others, and she easily found what she was looking for. Rowan looked behind her at her new friends and smiled, meaning for them to follow her as she began walking out of the kitchen.
Yuji, what is your power? she thought to him. She understood Ryder's power, it made sense that mini-Ambrose had run towards him. She waited patiently to hear her other friend's power.

Alexanna aka Alex sigh as she hop around as she was trying to hide.If they even bring that needle near her,she was surely going to set them on fire."Get back here!"One of the scientist yelled as she ran for it.He tried to grab her but she slipped out of his reach as he sigh, annoyed."It's just a needle!"he spat as he grabbed her annoyed as she scream and kicked him down there, making him drop her as she took off and hid behind someone because there so tall that noone knew she was hiding behind him, well except for himself as the scientist look around the room for her as he narrowed his eyes.

She knew she couldn't hide anymore as she quietly snuck away as the scientist back was turn but someone grabbed her as she saw an other one smirking at her as she growled at her as they brought her back to the room as they held her down and injected the needle into her as the liquid went inside her as she closed her eyes tightly, gasping in pain as they injected three more into her."Almost done.."The girl scientist mumble as they finished up before shoving her back out.

She could barely walk as she slowly walk down the hall, her eyes still close as she rub her temple. Her head was killing her as she slowly slide down the wall as she sat on the floor.

With no time to ask further questions within the safety of his cell, Ray peered outside into the dimly lit hallways. "I want to find my family too." Ryder's quiet voice echoed slightly off the walls. In all his time in the facility, Ray had never gone anywhere but the labs to the south and the library to the east. As Ryder quickly navigated along the dim corridors he quickly realized just how massive this facility was. Lining the seemingly endless hallways were cells, very much like that of his own, some newer, some older. Most of the cells in the southern block of the facility were vacant, leading Ray's mind to race and shudder at the thought that there were more subjects on their way.

"What are these people preparing for?" Ray asked himself quietly as he tried to keep up with Ryder. "Ryder... where is everyone? Do you know?" They reached a command center of sorts with a circular desk with monitors all around. The door shut loudly behind them as the spring mechanism automatically shut the heavy doors, SOUTH WING: BIOHAZARD WARNING: All Faculty Needs Clearance Before Entry Ray read on the doors of the wing they just left. Six double doors were spaced evenly around the room. FRONT DESK please let us know how we can assist you. Have a great day! was on a banner hanging over the desk. Ryder entered the doors nearest to where they entered the room. WEST WING: All Visitors Need Clearance Before Entry "Visitors?" Ray was puzzled by the sign as they slipped through the doors.

The halls were different in the west wing, instead of straight they were more curved, more inviting, even painted! As Ray walked he noticed more and more cells that were not vacant but very much occupied. Some by people he'd never seen before. A tiny girl with purple hair lay curled in her bed, LUX, FOREST, the charts outside the door read, and another normal looking girl with reinforcements on her cell WHITE, ALEXANNA. "You all are just a bunch of kids..." He thought to himself as he followed quietly behind Ryder "what is this world coming to?" While Ray was lost in his own mind Ryder stopped walking and was almost run over by the tall man. "What's happening? Are we here?" Ray asked.
