"There are two who live in the darkness. One who relishes in it, and another who uses it's own dark power to fight it." (NEED NEW CHARACTERS)

Introduction

In the year 1840, her majesty, Queen Victoria secretly deployed an elite police force for the purpose of destroying evil by an means necessary. This organization, known as Requiem, hunts down criminals that the law cannot touch, and solve cases deemed "unsolvable" by the normal police. Its members are few, but include expert assassins, battle-hardened soldiers, genius detectives, knights of honor, and even some said to have supernatural, or otherwise inhuman powers. The Requiem is her majesty's ultimate weapon against crime. Unknown to the public, unlimited by the law, and uncompromised when dealing justice to those that deny it.
The main force that opposes the Requiem is a shadowy organization, known as Obsidian Snow. Very little is known about Obsidian Snow, other then it being the most powerful criminal organization in the world, responsible for about 87% of all crimes worldwide. Even less is known about the leader, who's alias, Black Lace, is only whispered in the darkest corners of London. Knowing that the Requiem is the only group that could be a threat to them, Black Lace will stop at nothing to destroy it, just as the Requiem will stop at nothing to defeat her. How Black Lace discovered it's existence however, is a case even the Requiem seems unable to solve.

Father Heinrich

Heinrich waited for Gregory to exit the room; he obviously had something important to discuss with Dr. Steinburg. Heinrich wondered if it was mission-related or not. After a brief moment, Heinrich could overhear Gregory mention to the doctor to bring his ammunition as he exited the doorway. Heinrich stopped him.

"If I may confide something in you," Heinrich stated, "I wish to tell you something but not here. Could you walk with me?." Father Heinrich led the way as he slowly walked in no particular direction; he only wanted to get away from Dr. Steinburg.

"I have some concerns, Gregory," Heinrich admitted, "you seem like a sensible man and I'm sure you can understand this, but even though I haven't been here long enough to have leverage within the ranks, we should keep an eye on this Dr. Steinburg. Subject 13 is a human being like you and I... I don't not believe the doctor shares that same view. I myself have no problems dealing with the forces of evil, but I do not know if I will be able to harm this girl. She's innocent." Heinrich disliked fighting those who did not deserve it. "I do not believe in robbing away someone's freedom in order to run experiments to find a possible cure for any illness, even vampirism. There has to be a better way." Heinrich wondered if Gregory was going to jump to the conclusion that Heinrich hated modern medicine due to his faith.

"I am a logical man, Gregory; I know that faith in God alone cannot save someone and our breakthroughs in medicine can save countless lives, but how far is Dr. Steinburg willing to go to get his cure? I do not feel that losing everything that makes us human is worth it."

Though he barely showed it, giving only a slight relieved smile, Gregory felt somewhat refreshed by Heinrich's comment. It was good to see that there were still people in the Requiem who weren't completely willing to sacrifice their hearts and consciences in the name of "justice". Then again, people like him never truly belonged in the Requiem at all. He couldn't help but wonder how and why Heinrich had join the organization. Men of such high morals rarely came willingly.
Perhaps he simply didn't know the full truth about the Requiem.
"I.... agree with your stance," Gregory began, "I want to avoid harming the girl if at all possible, but sometimes...." His voice drifted for a moment, "...The innocent pay the price for our mistakes, and we have to be prepared if it comes to that."
There was a gap of silence as they continued their walk. Taking a moment to think, Gregory spoke up again.
"Do you know what we are here? What the Requiem asks us to be?"
The question was rhetorical. Gregory continued talking before Heinrich could give an answer.
"We are the sin eaters." He explained coldly, "We are the ones who stick our hands in all the moral excrement and filth so the rest of the world can be clean. Perhaps eventually, we truly will lose everything that makes us human, but at the very least, all the sin will be upon us, and the rest of the world will benefit and stay pure. That is the truth of what we; of what the Requiem is."
Gregory stopped walking.
"If you can find it in your heart, please forgive us. And more importantly, forgive yourself. If it's any consolation at all, I think you're right."
With that, Gregory pulled opened the back gate of Buckingham, holding the door for Heinrich,
"Now let's begin the mission."

Subject 13~~

She hissed a little with hitting the ground. she was in truth being submissive and showing that by nipping at him. "we will obey" She stood up moving to him "We want blood for what was done to us. Vampire gives word on this and we give word to obey and be the right hand of devil. Yes we will have fun dancing with the devil."

She moved to walk around looking at this and that. Now and than things would hold her focus any mirror or shiny object. It was as if she had never really seen her self or what she looked before. As if she was unsure of what she was seeing. "What will the devil have us wear if we are to be his right hand?" She cocked her head looking at him.

~~~Dr. Steinburg~~~
he was not even phased but what was said to him. He never was to him he was in the right and doing the right thing. To him Subject 13 was no more than animal that need to be broken and shown who is in charge and he was going to do that. He did not speak a word just took in the words of the angry Gregory. "you will under stand more when the time is right but Subject 13 is government property and nothing more than a weapon to be used. Yes my ways of doing things may have seemed harsh and wrong but what is one life to many......if that one life saves hundreds or more than it is 100% worth the cost of that one life"
He picked up what he need going to the meeting point. He really did not give a care what they thought about his work or him for that matter nor did he worry about. His better than thou way of thinking was going to be his biggest down fall and undoing at some point in his life....with him he was the kind to let things ride out and have his monster be the thing that took him out.
Once at the meeting point the good doctor looked all to willing to go on this hunt to catch his prize and make it his once again. in so many ways it gave one the chills. Making on wounder what he would do to subject 13 once he had it back.
Taking out a small map of London, Gregory gathered the team around as he pointed out several locations.
"The first part of our hunt will be reconnaissance." He said "Each of us will investigate a different sector where we suspect Subject 13 might be. I've already deployed the local police to help us, telling them it Subject 13 was a missing person. If you need assistance, just say you're with a Scotland Yard task force, and they'll do whatever you need. Please involve as few policemen as possible."
On the map, several locations were circled in red. Pointing to the first one, Gregory turned to Steinburg.
"You'll take this location." Gregory explained, "Due to your role in this mission, we can't risk losing you to whatever dangers this assignment might present. At this spot, you'll find one of the Requiem's safe houses, equipped with extensive communication equipment. You will be wired in to receive any and all reports from the police during this mission, and will have the ability to mobilize whatever forces you require to act in your place."
Holding up a several small black boxes, Gregory passed them out to each member of the team.
"Each of us will also carry a radio, so you can contact with us at any time. These radios will keep our team connected while we're each at different locations." Turning to face the rest of your group, Gregory went on, "If any of you find Subject 13, or any other points of interest, follow them and contact the rest of the team, but do not engage or blow your cover if possible. We want to avoid casualties."
Pointing to the remaining locations, Gregory quickly assigned each sector to the other members of the team, placing one agent per location. Though he said nothing, the entire team knew what they might have to do. There could be no witnesses to the mission. Any civilians or police who spotted a Requiem member without a cover or backstory would have to be eliminated. The Requiem's existence had to remain secret. Sometimes though, Gregory wondered just how much that secret was worth. There was so much blood on his hands already. At the very least, he decided, he could keep the majority of this sin on his own shoulders. It was the least he could do.
"...And to conclude," He finished, "I'll take the section with the highest civilian population. Are there any questions?"
Father Heinrich von Holstein
As Gregory explained the nature and degree of his plan, Heinrich thought about what he told the priest earlier; what the Requiem was created for and what Father von Holstein would have to do in order to complete missions. Committing the greatest of sins so the world doesn't have to. Heinrich repeated those words in his head, trying to come to terms with what was going to be asked of him. He wondered if the Lord would forgive him for whatever atrocities and evils he would have to commit in order to save the innocent.
"No questions from myself, Gregory," Heinrich calmly answered. He was given his section to patrol and he would have to wear a larger trench coat to conceal his identity as a priest. They did not normally wander around searching for missing people. Even more peculiar was the fact that he was not a Protestant like the other clergy of the English Church. Heinrich would have to pretend he was a common police officer. He had a fake badge along with a disguise in an assortment of supplies he was given by the Requiem Quarter master. The coat would conceal his priestly robes and the badge would guarantee his secret identity. The main problem was the cross burned onto his forehead from his initiation at the Vatican. The British experts of fashion and cosmetology have claimed to have created a product that when applied to the skin, covers imperfections and in Heinrich's case, burn marks. Heinrich only hoped it would last the entire mission. Not many people could recognize the burned cross symbol on the forehead and link Heinrich to the secretive group he belonged to, but powerful organizations like Obsidian Snow surely knew of its existence.
"Anyone wishing to join myself in prayer before the mission may step over here with me," Heinrich stated moving slightly away from the group, "I have familiarized myself with several prayers from the Church of England and can recite a prayer I believe yourselves and Her Majesty would approve of. I understand the Requiem is multi-faithed and unbiased so I will not be offended if any of you choose to not take part."
Nightmare
Nightmare tilted his head to the side as Subject 13 called him 'the Devil'. An interesting title for him; the symbolism was appropriate.
"The Devil?" Nightmare repeated, "a supernatural entity that is the personification of evil and the enemy of God and humankind." The vampire chuckled. "I like it: I will be your Devil, but you will need an appropriate name as well; I grow tired of calling you 'Subject 13'." Nightmare pondered something Biblical. Nightmare was actually quite familiar with the Bible as he was a devout Catholic before he was afflicted with the gift or curse of vampirisim. After his conversion, most holy objects actually harmed him so he swayed away from his beliefs as God became an enemy to him. Nightmare snapped his fingers as he discovered a name.
"You shall be called Lilith from now on," Nightmare satisfyingly stated, "named after Lilith of Babylon: Adam's first wife... later nicknamed the bride of the Devil. If the name pleases you." Nightmare paced back and fourth with his arms behind his back as he pondered a costume for his new apprentice.
"Wear something light, but protective; you do not want your speed hindered by the bulk of heavy armour," Nightmare explained, "I still wear my old Prussian war uniform, it is light but provides little protection from guns or bladed weapons, but I am more resilient than a human." Nightmare paused and thought more on 'Lilith's' possible new attire. "You should wear a light coat to conceal your swords. Some leather might be useful for intercepting bladed attacks, and be sure to wear flexible, sturdy combat boots. Stealthier operations may require more subtlety to your outfit but consider this you standard combat attire. You may also want to dress in a revealing fashion; men are easily swayed by a beautiful woman and that could make your kill easier... when the prey is... distracted." A smile spread across the vampire's face.
Even though he was a believer, Gregory stood apart while Heinrich and the others prayed. In truth, he hadn't actually prayed in years. Perhaps it was wrong, but Gregory simply didn't believe he had the right to pray anymore. He bowed his head, and closed his eyes in respect, but he could not bring himself to pray. It was ironic. A sin eater like him would need a prayer the most, yet denied himself that right.
When Heinrich had finished, Gregory began loading his revolver. Would it be blasphemy to prepare for sin right after prayer?
"Let's begin our search." He said, clicking cylinder shut. "You all have your assignment; now let's get started."
Clicking on his radio, Gregory called over a Requiem transport to take him to his assigned district. In less than five minutes, the carriage had arrived, and Gregory promptly hopped in, saying nothing. The drivers also remained silent, asking no questions. He already knew the location, and was smart enough to know that he'd probably live a lot longer if he didn't learn anything else. Unsurprisingly, most transporters for the Requiem had fairly short lifespans. The one Gregory was currently using was good at his job; a professional. Unfortunately, Gregory couldn't imagine the driver would last more than two or three more mission before he was "retired". Such was the price of security. However, what bothered Gregory the most was that it worked. Since they began "retiring" drivers who had worked too long or seen too much, the number of secrets the Requiem lost to the public, and to enemies like Obsidian Snow, had plummeted. As much as Gregory hated to admit it, they had a pretty effective system, regardless of the blatant immorality of it all.
As always, the drive was long. The chauffeur had been ordered to take at least an extra hour of random turns and stops just to throw off anyone who might trace them back to Buckingham. It was aggravating, but again, the system worked. Very few people had ever traced a cab the whole way, the all the ones Gregory knew of were dead.
When they finally arrived, Gregory quickly jumped off, almost instantly blending into the crowded streets of the Living Districts. Most of the people in the area were ordinary, middle to lower class civilians, with little concern for the battles between light and darkness. Sometimes, it made Gregory wonder if all their bloodshed and violence was worth it. Ordinary people got along just fine finding happiness where they could, and sometimes even love along the way. Still, would they be able to do that without the countless sacrifices and sins committed by the Requiem?
The question had haunted Gregory for years, and would likely do so for the rest of his life. He shrugged in indifference. There were so many things haunting him already. One more question would hardly make a difference.
For a few minutes Gregory scanned the crowd in vain for signs of Subject 13, or any information at all that could pertain to their case. However, a mild headache that had started earlier that day was slightly distracting. Gregory sighed. He knew exactly where the pain was coming from.
"Lloyd...." He growled under his breath, "What do you want?"
There was a chuckle in the back of his mind as Lloyd drew away the pain of the headache he had induced on Gregory.
"Kind of you to take notice." He sneered, "I've been trying to get your attention since this whole business with Subject 13 began."
"Really?" Gregory shrugged, "I had no idea."
"Ignorant prick...." Lloyd's tone shifted from anger to arrogance, "I just thought you might want a little help in catching your newest target."
"I assure you, we're doing just fine."
"Really? You still haven't found her. You don't even know where to look. Would you like me to give you a hint?"
Gregory paused. What on earth could Lloyd tell him that he didn't already know? Still, based on the past, Lloyd's arrogance was never completely unfounded. He clearly had something in mind, especially since he had taken the effort to stave off the pain that normally kept him pacified. Honestly, Gregory was a little surprised he had endured it all so well. Maybe his natural insanity had played a part in it.
Taking Gregory's silence as a yes, Lloyd voice whispered through Gregory's mind.
"You don't understand why Subject 13 would commit all her crimes, because you're still thinking like an agent of law and order. To catch a criminal, you have to think like a criminal. Think! Who would know Subject 13 better than anyone? Who would know her so intimately, that he would be able to say all the most likely places she could be? If you search everywhere like you're having the Requiem do for you, you'll only end up going nowhere."
Gregory nodded. For all his evil, Lloyd could actually be a surprisingly good partner at times. Though his reasons were different, Lloyd wanted to solve the case just as much as Gregory. Alone, they were brilliant, but together, they would be unstoppable. Gregory knew exactly what he had to do. Flipping open his radio, Gregory quickly connected with Steinburg.
"Doctor?" He said clearly, "It's me, Gregory. I need you to tell me everything you can about Subject 13 that wouldn't be on official records. I need her mannerisms, interests, fears, and whatever you can give me of her psychological background. Any details of her creation and training would be helpful too." He paused, "Where exactly would you go, if you were her in this situation?"
Subject 13~~
She frowned when he brought up an easy kill "where is the fun when something is easy....It makes a killing useless. We like when they fight back and there is a fire in there belly. Makes it more fun to watch the fire die out in there eyes" She smirked with this"
Does the devil have anything else we can wear so we may learn from him?" She moved to stand close to him. "We will make the city bow to the devil" She smirked at him. She wanted to grow stronger become more than she was. She had a lust to have that power to take on anyone that got in her way. She even had a bigger lust to get her hands on the one who made her the way she was.
She cocked her head at the idea of being called Lilith. She did not know the history of the name or anything. "if the Devil wishes to give us that name than we shall take it." She bowed to him holding her arm up to him as an offering to him to feed to show that she was his.
~~~Dr. Steinburg~~~

The good doctor joined with praying but he was a hard man to read. There where points that seemed like he was not truly of the faith. He had more reasons that he wanted to get his hands on subject 13 not just to finish his work but to control a weapon that was power. He wanted power.....he craved it and lusted for it

Steinburg went to where he was told to go. doing what he could to help out. He did not care if subject 13 got hurt. All it was, was a toy in his eyes something to play with and cut open and that is the only way he say 13. When he was buzzed on the walky talky he took a little a little time to answer and a little more to answer what was asked. He had to pick his words with care.

"13 is hard to read. It has habits that change letting it blend in to where it is." He closed his eyes thinking about the fears and what he did to distory that part of 13 brain. "13 has no real fear it is will to fight to the death or take it self out to make sure it gets done what it needs to. Where 13 would go I would have no clue most likely it would hunt than go find a place to nest. Or just find a place to nest to keep low for a few days."

the doctor shut his eyes thinking about the training "13 has been trained in many forms of fighting skills and will adapt to who they are fighting. They will use anything they can to win."

"By the way there has been a few killings that would be a good place to start looking in the city. 13 tends to be a little over the top with what it does and takes pride in the killings. Mind you the killings can ether look like an animal did it or be so clean and neat that the person just dropped dead on the spot."

Thanking the doctor, Gregory clicked off his radio, somewhat troubled by what the doctor had told him. If Subject 13 could kill as efficiently and creatively as the doctor said, it was very possible that they were only aware of a small fraction of her crimes. In a way, Subject 13 reminded him of some kind of monstrous cross between the Ripper, and Nightmare. It was ironic, she was created to save humans, but in the end, all she seemed able to do was destroy them. Quietly, Gregory chuckled at the black comedy. She had much in common with the Requiem. Even if he did save her, would it really make a difference?
Lost in thought, Gregory spent an uncertain amount of time walking through the city, silently going through every possible scenario in his mind. Was it possible there was another killer involved? How did Subject 13 escape in the first place? Her lack of fear for death, and willingness to sacrifice herself also hinted at the possibility of her eventual suicide. If it came to that, how would they ever know?
Then it hit Gregory. He knew exactly where Subject 13 would go. After all, it was the only place she would know where to go.
Taking a seat, Gregory pulled out his journal and began taking notes. He wrote quickly, but his writing was always immaculate, neater and faster than even a typewriter's.
"Subject 13...." He muttered as he wrote, "Fact: She was born and raised to be a tool. Fact: She had been trained all her life for the sole purpose of killing Fact: (?) She had committed several (seemingly) random murders. Investigation pending."
Pausing for a moment, Gregory twirled his pen in his hand as he sat in silent contemplation. It was very possible her upbringing had caused her to develop a case of sadism. She had been created as a weapon after all, so unfortunately, sadism would be a natural response. If that were the only motivator, her killings would be random and disorganized, and eventually, the police would be able to catch her. However, since she had been made as a weapon, it would be even more natural for her to look for someone that would wield her. She had been raised to serve as a sword for her master, so it would be no surprise if she sought to find a master that would accept her. Due to her upbringing and training, she would probably accept anyone who would accept her. Now, it was only a question of who would do that.
Gregory shook his head. No. That wasn't a question at all. No ordinary citizen, or even criminal, would be able to handle Subject 13. Her master would have to be someone with power. Someone with the strength and the sheer will to command her. Even among the hardened criminal element, such people were rare, and most belonged with Obsidian Snow. Gregory knew it. That would be where they would be most likely to find Subject 13.
Even though Obsidian Snow was the largest known criminal organization in the world, Gregory already knew how to narrow down where she would be staying. Taking out his map, Gregory quickly found the location of her last known killing. Right near the area, was a criminal safe house the Requiem often sent its information brokers to. They had never done an actual raid on it though, due to it's importance with intelligence.
That would have to be compromised. Flipping open his radio, Gregory contacted his team.
"Ms. Crest," He called, "Dr. Steinburg, and Mr. Heinrich, please meet up with me as soon as you can. I think I've found our target."

-Father Heinrich-

Heinrich hadn't gotten very far with his investigation. He wasn't a policeman, nor a detective; he wasn't use to doing such things. If Heinrich had to track down and kill a werewolf, a ghost, or a demon, then he would know what to do, but this was entirely different. Humans could be very unpredictbable compared to most supernatural beings. A werewolf has certain habits that it exhibits and that allows it to be tracked; humans, especially criminals, could be very different with their own habits. Heinrich didn't know where to begin. His barely passable investigation was interupted by Gregory radioing him to meet up; it seemed as though his investigation was more successful.

After a light jog through the district, Heinrich arrived to see Gregory waiting patiently.
"What information do you have so far?" Heinrich asked, intrigued with what the man had potentially discovered.

-Nightmare-

The vampire gladly took the girl's wrist and fed, draining her of enough blood to satisfy himself without causing serious damage to her.

"Our enemy is one that will fight back, my pet," he explained to her, "our enemy is one with limitless resources, soldiers, and supplies, but they are not invincible." Nightmare was pleased with his new apprentice. She was submissive yet stubborn, which Nightmare enjoyed. A mindless slave never had potential. Subject 13, or Lilith, was quite an impressive specimen and had so much to prove but so much potential as well.

"We must ready ourselves for our enemies will surely discover our whereabouts at some point... let's give our friends a warm welcome."

~Subject 13~

"we know, we always know" She felt little light in the head but shock it off "Does the Devil have a map we can use?" She hummed under her breath moveing to her weapons getting her self ready for there little game. "we will fallow the devil and take down those who serve the light." She ran her finger tips over one of her weapons much like one would touch a dear lover. Her weapons where the only ones that she new how to love....to her this was more of a way to stay a live and away from the ones that did this to her. She was going to stay alive and do what it took and pull down those who got in her way.

"Does the devil want us to go play in this or should we put something else on? " She moved over to him nipping at his chin showing him in much like the way an animal would that he was boss. It would take time to learn her little ticks and habits. She acted very much like an animal. She wanted that physical contact that she was keep away from for so long. "Tell us what you want us to do and we will do it" She purred at him keeping close. Waiting to hear the the game plan.

~Dr. Steinburg~

"on my way" He moved heading to where the others where going. He made sure to let the Requiem got a hold of the bodies and any information that was with it. He was going to take a look at a few things. This was the first time that 13 made a killing outside the compound and he wanted a good look at what they did. It took him some time to get to the others.

He had that cold calculated look to him thinking about what 13 would do and there next plan was. He still with held information from the others there was many thing he did not want them to know about how fair things went with subject 13 or what else went on at the compound. He looked at Gregory "So what is the game plan? " He was not going to rush in to any thing he wanted to know every detail before he started.

It was somewhat impressive how quickly the Requiem gathered. Quietly, Gregory reflected on the competence of his team. Was he really worthy of their loyalty? By assuming leadership of the mission, he had asked them to trust him with their lives. Now, he would ask for so much more.
"So what is the game plan?"
Dr. Steinburg showed no human feelings at all when he spoke. He would probably love what Gregory was about to order, if he was even capable of that much emotion.
Gregory cut straight to the point, "I've located a safe house I believe Subject 13 is hiding at." He explained, "At this point, she is almost certainly affiliated with Obsidian Snow, so there will definitely be guards. I'll need all of you to be prepared for a fight before we go in."
He paused, the next part would be difficult to say, especially to men like Heinrich. For a moment, he actually contemplated making a new plan, but quickly cast the thought aside. After all, this was war, and sacrifices were necessary for a war to be won.
"The amount of Obsidian Snow agents would be too much for even our team to overwhelm in an all-out assault, especially since we can't risk letting Subject 13 escape. Instead, we will infiltrate the safe house while some of the local police provide a diversion. They will be told it's an ordinary raid on a criminal warehouse. Obviously though, due to the nature of our mission, we can't risk allowing any of them to learn the truth. In the rare case any of the police we send actually survive...." He paused, his expression saddening slightly, "...I'm afraid we'll have to execute them in order to keep the information of Subject 13 and the Requiem classified. We can't afford to have any witnesses at all, innocent or guilty."
In truth, this was standard mission procedure for the Requiem. Gregory had done plenty of missions like this in the past. However, what haunted him wasn't how many times he had done it, so much as how easy it had become. It literally only took a word; a simply order in the name of "justice", and countless lives would be snuffed out for good. The power of words was a little terrifying at times. In some ways, words could take lives in greater quantities, and more horribly than a gun or sword ever could.
"If you wish to step out at this point, to suggest a new plan, or even just to say anything against this plan." Gregory said grimly, "I will completely understand, and there will be no punishment. However, this is your last chance. After we begin, there will be no turning back."

-Nightmare-

Nightmare was initially confused with Subject 13's behaviour; she acted with almost a need for physical contact and gratification. In many ways, Nightmare's newest asset was very animalistic in nature. Nightmare allowed her to get close to him, though he initially wanted to strike her down for invading his personal space. Nightmare wondered what people had done to her to make her this way; she was a tool designed for war and death. Unfortunately for her creators, she was a tool that was about to be turned on them.

She was giving herself to his every whim; Nightmare had complete power over her. The vampire knew she still exerted a certain degree of independence as she wouldn't obey a command that interfered with her twisted sense of morality; however, Nightmare believed he could have Subject 13 doing anything he wanted, in theory. Many ideas crossed the vampire's mind, and some surprised him. Nightmare shook away ideas unrelated to the ongoing struggle against the Requiem. Nightmare needed to act soon or the Queen's forces would be gaining the upper-hand.

"You must change into some light armour that will grant you some protection," Nightmare explained, running his hand through Subject 13's hair, "Go and change into some armour--perhaps leather... and ready your blades." Nightmare was becoming more intrigued by Subject 13; she was going to be Obsidian Snow's secret weapon if Nightmare acted intelligently and strategically. Nightmare wondered what Black Lace would do once she discovered of Subject 13's involvement. The vampire was growing increasingly weary of Black Lace's loss of interest with Obsidian Snow. It had been many days since she ordered him to report in. Rumours were spreading that she was becoming ill and was soon going to appoint a successor to her criminal tycoon. Nightmare wondered if she would choose him, or perhaps another loyal Obsidian Snow member. Nightmare was her most loyal follower; he owed a life debt to her, and was not about to abandon this agreement. He was to be a servant to her every will and to the wills of her blood-successors... meaning offspring.

-Father Heinrich-

The priest swallowed hard as Gregory explained the nature of their mission. Heinrich's jaw slightly dropped as Gregory explained that the police would have to be executed if they survived their 'distraction'. Heinrich knew Obsidian Snow never employed anyone who wasn't slightly combat capable; the local police force would be massacred if Obsidian Snow mobilized their troops to jump on the opportunity to kill off some of the bothersome police officers that would be distracting Obsidian Snow from the Requiem's true intentions. Those poor men were expendable in the eyes of the Requiem; they truly valued the greater good over anything: kill the few to save the thousands.

"I.." Heinrich hesitated, "... have no problems with this plan. We will do what is necessary." Heinrich swallowed his pride and set his personal beliefs aside. He quickly pulled out the cross hanging on his neck from his shirt and kissed it gently. "Forgive me," he whispered to the crucifix.

"Let us set out and do what must be done." Heinrich boldly stated as he unsheathed his dagger and drew his pistol, "Obsidian Snow will not stop us from capturing this girl... without letting any harm come to her if possible."

Gregory nodded, silently acknowledging his team's courage. Especially Heinrich. Steinburg and Gregory already had innocent blood on their hands, but Heinrich was still pure. The first time was always the hardest. Gregory knew this would haunt the priest for the rest of his life.
Perhaps it would even break him. Gregory had seen many men and women stronger than himself break under the burden of innocent blood. Really, it wasn't a matter of strength; it was about how much of a monster they could become.
Loading up his revolver, Gregory led his team to the back of the warehouse. It was surprisingly close to civilian areas, yet was far enough away from any ordinary businesses that no one ever came by without a reason. Though it looked much like a normal, if slightly large warehouse, Gregory recognized it as a criminal stronghold, hiding in plain sight. The police were already in their places, waiting for their radios to tell them when to strike. Quietly, Gregory gave a silent, unnoticed salute. No matter how the battle went, every one of the brave officers would be dead by morning.
"Listen up." Gregory whispered to his team, "Once I tell the officers to begin their assault, we'll take advantage of Obsidian Snow's confusion to infiltrate their hideout. There will be no witnesses. Kill anyone you see other than Subject 13. If, no, when you find her, I want you to capture her alive, though try not to hurt her any more than what's necessary. Report to me through our radio network once you have her. I..."
He paused, unable to find the right words for what he wanted to say. After a moment, he looked back up,
"...Come back alive." He finally said, "Come back alive, and someday, I'll put the fighting to an end. That's a promise, and an order."
Then, pulling out his radio, Gregory clicked on the police channel.
"It's time." He said, his voice almost a whisper. Almost immediately after clicking off, he could hear the first gunshots of the battle from the front of the warehouse.
With that as their cue, the Requiem rushed forwards into the warehouse. Upon entering Gregory immediately shot the two guards at the entrance. They were clean kills, through the head and heart.
"Namir and Steinburg take the basement," He instructed, "Heinrich and I will take the upper floors. Spread out, and stay on guard!"
Placing his hand in his jacket pocket, Gregory withdrew some of the magnesium Victoria had given him earlier. Quickly warning his team to cover their eyes, he tossed a small, compressed chunk of it up the stairs, igniting it by firing a bullet through the mass to create a brilliant flash of light. Sometimes, a little chemical knowledge went a long way in winning a fight.
Then came the hard part. As he closed his eyes to shield from the flash, Gregory opened his mind to Lloyd, voluntarily offering control of the body to his twisted second half. They both knew who would be better suited in such a situation. Gregory's conscience would only get them killed. Sometime, Gregory knew, the only way to fight monsters is to become a monster yourself. Taking a deep breath, Gregory surrendered his body, retreating back into the back corners of his shared mind.
Lloyd was once again in control.
Insidiously, a sadistic grin spread over the detective's face as his eyes widened in grotesque ecstasy.
"Free...!" He muttered softly, "Free at last.....!"
Lloyd's vampire blood addiction was still there. However, the time Gregory had been in control had given Lloyd a chance to adapt to it. He now embraced the sickening pain the addiction brought. After all, mere pain could no longer control him. He absorbed it with masochistic glee, and re-channeled it into his natural sadism. There was killing to be done, and truth to be gained, and nothing, not even Gregory, could stand in his way any longer. At long last, Lloyd Greywalker was totally, and completely free, and no earthly power would ever be able to control him again.
"Now then...." Lloyd face cracked into an insane grin as he tilted his head slightly to the side, barely avoiding a stray bullet. "Shall we begin?"
Instantly, Lloyd turned his pistol in retaliation. Then, almost faster than the eye could see, the mad detective unloaded, reloaded, and charged up the stairs, laughing and killing the whole way. The battle had barely begun, and already, his grey jacket was dyed a sickening red with the blood of both the innocence and guilty. Since regaining control, Lloyd had become more savage than ever. His bloodthirsty fury looked in some ways like that of a demon, putting even his previous sadism to shame.
"Heinrich" Lloyd called to the priest, "Make sure we capture one of these bastards alive! I want to ask a few questions once things quiet down on this floor."

~Subject 13~

Subject 13 AKA Lilith had gone throw hell they did what ever they could to take away from her and make her less then human. They took her name, her gender, her rights. All they saw was something to run test on that if it died they could always restart how ever She dear 13 had one thing that made it a little harder to label as something expendable the fact that the bite of the vampire or werewolf could not turn her. The down side to the fact was there where worst test done to her, one that should have never been done. They stuck needles in to her, and injected her with drugs knowing the pain it could cause. They changed her made her better than a normal human, they made her more like an animal....they where making her the perfect tool to fight what goes bump in the night. In truth they never fully knew how dangerous they made her. They wanted a weapon, not just a solider but one that could be close to being unstoppable as solider could be.

She changed her clothing finding something in leather that was skin tight and showy. The top hugged her body showing every curve of her upper body. How she got the back of it laced with out help only left one to wounder. Boots that came up to to knees hiding thin steal plates to do more damage. Gloves covered her slender hands. All weapons that she had at the time where placed with care and ready for use. She had only love for her weapons. That showed with how she handled them. "soon my sweets we will have fun" She moved with the cat like grace showing her master what she picked to see if he liked it. The scares showed on her body but she did not care she liked them and they never took away from her looks. "Is my master pleased with what we picked?" She asked waiting to see what he said. She was ready for blood and wanted to have fun.

She hut her eyes and leaned her head to the side and hummed a twisted tune under her breath. She knew they where close and they would be much more fun to play with like the vampire was. "Father is coming.....I wounder what he will think of his little Whore?" She cackled and placed like a cat waiting to go after its pray. She wanted to feel that blood on her flesh she wanted to fight. "Can we go toy with mice?" She wanted to kill something and show him that she would do as told along with she wanted to show off and cut lose. She wanted to cut lose on as many people as she could but one person was her main target....the doctor. Anyone who worked with the doctor was a target for her and the aspect of her anger.

Steinburg~~

Steinburg nodded at this. He wondered if holding back would be a better move and make 13 come out to them. Steinburg had a couple ideas on how 13 got free and the one that was the least likely was it getting free on its own. He know someone had to have helped but who was the thing. If there was a tarter his wrath would know no bounds. This would have to be handled with care. He had to find out how 13 got free so it would not happen again. No one could find out about all the dead bodies, all the failed tries and all the things that went on. Even the workers lived there and where not aloud to leave. Everything was top secrets there and there could be no leeks.

The building he owned and did his work in was not a good place and one had to wounder if it had ever been looked in to. It was privately owned so that put some bounds of the law on it but at the same time his work was for the crown and that was what made that subject like walking on egg shells. At some point that would be something to look in to but with what they would see that Subject 13 could do it would be something to look in to or more like something that need to be looked in to so they could be stopped. However not just stopped but those who have died thanks to the good doctor could finally rest.

There was not much that he feared but he did fear other seeing his dark side. Seeing his true work and how dark it truly was until it was done. He never liked people seeing the work before it was done for it was not perfect. Even know 13 was not fully done and he was not overly happy with that fact. However you had to roll with what goes on and make it work for you. He shut his eyes and sighed a little if it came down to keeping his secrets silent he would take a kill shot be it with a gun or a needle on 13 and make it look like an accident.

He moved down the steps heading to the area he was told to go in. He was ready for what ever may come along with being ready to gather anything that would be useful to him. It did not matter if it was samples or tools if he saw them as useful he would get them. He did not care what the tools would be used for. He moved slowly taking care to watch what was going on around him. He knew to trade with care even though part of him wanted to see what 13 could fully do out in the filed and not in a room. He shivered some at the thought of this never knowing how much 13 hated him.

-Nightmare-

The vampire nodded curiously as Lilith expressed her excitement for bloodsport; she was growing increasingly patient and wanted to show Nightmare her true potential. Nightmare admired her enthusiasm, but noted that her overconfidence might play a pivotal role in her overall combat performance; nonetheless, she was going to be quite a surprise for any Requiem agent who attempted to engage in combat with Lilith. From what Nightmare was able to gather in Lilith's rantings, the Requiem was coming for her. Nightmare was quite impressed with Lilith's attire; she had put herself together quite efficiently. Her beauty astounded him, despite her many scars and uncontrollable mental state. The vampire had to intently focus on the task at hand and not become distracted by carnal thoughts. He shifted his thoughts completely to Lilith's combat capability. Nightmare felt she was ready for combat against any opponent, but Nightmare's recent encounters with the Requiem had taught him many lessons, particularly against the one-armed man who had regrown his limb thanks to the effects of the tainted blood. Nightmare would be ready for the next time he faced off with his new nemesis, regardless of his mental state. His new ally was also the secret weapon he was going to unleash on the Requiem, but only when the time was right.

"Patience, pet," Nightmare cautioned her, "when the time comes, we'll-" Nightmare was cut off by his chamber doors opening and a dark-hooded Obsidian Snow servant entering with haste. "You know not to enter my chambers without adequate reason," the vampire warned. The servant quickly apologized; he had a concerned look about him like something was seriously wrong. "The local police forces are launching an all-out assault on a vicinity near here," he explained, "we're outnumbered."

"Muster what forces you can and join the fray. Thank you for the information; now go!" Nightmare ordered in a stern voice. Nightmare turned to his new comrade. "It seems like the wait is now over for you. I will give you the location of the battle taking place; I want you to go there and deal with the problem. I will be watching intently, but I will not come to your aid. You will prove yourself to me. There is much more to this than meets the eye; the police would never launch an un-organised attack like this." Nightmare paused to think for a moment. "Keep your guard," he warned, "Let us remain vigilant, lest we pay for it later. Now go; kill them all. Leave none alive. No Police, no requiem... and no Obsidian Snow. Kill everyone. Leave no survivors." Nightmare looked deep into her eyes; he had never been so serious in his life. He needed to send a message; not just to the forces of 'good', but to everyone.

-Father Heinrich-

The priest was astounded at the pure brutality that Gregory was displaying; it was like he was an entirely new man. One who not concerned with the lives of others or his own for that matter.

"Unless," Heinrich whispered to himself, "he's Lloyd again!" It was the only plausible solution to the enigma. Heinrich was busy pondering this new-found change when Gregory-or Lloyd ordered him to capture one of the Obsidian Snow operatives alive. "I can do that!" he called back to the man now driven by bloodlust, laughing manically as he slaughtered foes without effort.

Heinrich darted away from Lloyd and focused on the task given. Heinrich was certain he had reverted back to Lloyd as Gregory would not be acting in such a way if he were in control. Heinrich came across a group of three Obsidian Snow soldiers dressed in black uniforms who darted for the priest. Fortunately he was familiar with combat enough to handle himself in a fight; though he had fought with humans, he had killed much larger, faster, and more powerful creatures. "Lord forgive me for what I'm about to do..."

Heinrich side-stepped the initial flurries of swipes and slashes; the men were armed with short swords. The man who was seemingly the leader of three soldiers foolishly lunged forward and attempted to stab Heinrich in the ribs. The priest was able to catch the man's arm and avoid the fatal blow. With stern force, Heinrich snapped the man's arm at the elbow. He fell to the grown, screaming in pain. Heinrich caught the man's sword before he dropped it to the ground and plunged it deep into the side of the man's head. He twitched for a moment before the life faded from his body. Heinrich pulled the blade from the soldier's head and threw it with considerable force at the second soldier; it plunged deep into his chest and knocked him to the ground. It would not be long before he died from the wound. The last soldier turned to run, but Heinrich was in pursuit. Thankfully, the priest was much faster than the fleeing Obsidian Snow soldier. The soldier reached into his pocket and pulled out a flintlock pistol and turned his arm to blind-fire. The weapon roared like a canon as the ball flew towards the priest. Heinrich was able to duck and avoid the poorly aimed shot. Coming so close to death inspired Heinrich to push harder and erupt into a full sprint; in a few seconds, the priest was close enough to the soldier to tackle him to ground. Both men hit the floor with a loud thud. Heinrich climbed on top of the man and attempted to restrain him; the soldier managed to punch Heinrich in the jaw and disorient him long enough to gain the upper-hand.

Before Heinrich could regain focus, the soldier was on top of him, delivering full-forced punches directed to Heinrich's face. The priest was able to block most of the shots while he figured out a plan; he needed to capture the man alive, which was going to prove difficult. Heinrich caught the man's flurry of punches and pushed him off of his chest. Both men scrambled to their feet; Heinrich was able to gain his balance first and delivered a stern roundhouse kick to the man's temple, knocking him out instantly. Heinrich rushed to check the soldier's vitals. He felt for a moment before a heartbeat was sensed. Heinrich let out a sigh of relief and took some rope out of a small pouch in his coat pocket to tie up the man.

~Lilith~

She moved like a cat back and forth ready to fight she shivered and made a small sound "They are mice to draw us out...the police are nothing more than little ants ready to be set on fire." She moved running her fingers over a table. "burn it to the ground and watch the smoke rise, trap the little rats and drown them" She started to laugh in that crazed manner of hers. "drown them and watch the gasp for air till the light dies...twinkle twinkle deadly night" She cackled more.

"We do not fear the ever lasting black we welcome it!" She spun some like a top. "Does the Devil wish us to take a play thing alive?" Her eyes shined at this point. The aspect of having a plaything made her shiver with joy along with the fact of bring him something back to brake seemed like fun.

-Nightmare-

Nightmare nodded as Lilith demonstrated her intelligience; something Nightmare had not made not of until now. She was a bright girl, and though she spoke in metaphors, there was much logic to her rantings. She was most likely right; this attack had to be a diversion, but for what was the main question. Lilith was also wise to suggest taking a hostage; a Requiem hostage could be turned, or tortured for information depending on the situation. It was much better to turn a weapon against an enemy than to destroy it entirely.

"Yes, take a play thing back to me if you can," Nightmare ordered, "but not a regular policeman; they won't know anything. I would much prefer a Requiem agent... much more of a challenge to capture, but you would enjoy the chase." Nightmare was excited; he wanted to slaughter the entire police force and the Requiem single-handedly, but this was Liltih's chance to prove her worth to Obsidian Snow. They weren't going to protect themselves; Black Lace was growing more and more disorganized and decentralised. There was talk of separation and degradation within the organization. The once powerful, criminal empire was diminishing much to Black Lace's dismay. This worried Nightmare greatly; he was going to have to kill some high-ranking members of the organization if they want to separate.
Nothing demands obedience like a head on a pike...

"If the Requiem wants to set up a trap," Nightmare chuckled, "then let us go spring it." Nightmare walked up to Lilith, leaning in close to her. He paced around her, almost touching her. "They are all your play-things, my pet, now go play... I'll be watching closely," the vampire smiled, "very closely." Nightmare continued to pace around Lilith before he stopped directly in front of her.

"Just save a few for me... if all goes according to plan, then tonight we shall bath in the blood of the vanquished."

Lilith~

"we think we should spring or own trap. Make them come to wolves in sheep's wool." She giggled bowing to Night Mare, her Devil. She picked a cape with a hood up. Lilith used the hood to cover her face from view. With that she was off to take down anyone that stood in her way. She could not help but giggle and sing under her breath as she stocked her pray. What fun the hunt was when it would not only please you but could please someone else.

The idea of being covered in blood only made her want this more...it made her want to cover the town in it. She stoole a few items and started a fire at another building. It did not take long for it to get out of control burning with rage. She ran to one of the cops painting a lie. "My child is stuck in the building... please help them please!" She even had tears going, such fear painted across her face as she spoke. It did not take long to get the police divide and some to go check the fire out.

Once at location she used the shadows to stay out of sight. It was not that hard for her to get in to the building now with her own decoy drawing police to it. She giggled as she move slowly enjoying the hunt. She sang under her breath;

"Oh little enemy come out and fight with me
bring your bee-bee gun and we'll have so much fun
I'll stab your eyes out and let you bleed to death
And we'll be enemies, oh, one, two, three, four...
There is no place to hide... I am coming to get you "

She cackled more taking on any one that got in her way. Dancing about and driving her blade deep with in there flesh only to stop now and than to taste her kill.

Firing two final shots to finish off the the last of the fleeing enemies, Lloyd took a moment to savor his work. On his face, a cruel smile curved in twisted satisfaction as he watched a man stumble a few last steps, before falling over, dead. Then, reloading his gun, Lloyd slipped it back into it's concealed holster, before glancing over to Heinrich. In truth, he cared nothing for how his fellow teammate was doing, but at the same time, Lloyd was grateful to have such a competent fighter with him. It was never easy to take people alive in the heat of battle, especially when facing such skilled enemies. Honestly, he was actually a little surprised Heinrich had managed to do it at all. Even on a good day, he doubted he could have such restrain and discipline, and still stay alive. Clapping his hands, Lloyd laughed manically as he approached the priest.
"I see you found us a new toy!" Lloyd's expression was not unlike a greedy child on Christmas, or perhaps even a lascivious cannibal. Bending down to where the man lay, Lloyd grabbed the soldier's hair, brutally yanking him upwards. The pain and surprise shocked the man awake.
"Good morning!" Lloyd grinned obnoxiously, if only to frighten the poor soldier more than he already was.
"I see you're awake!" Lloyd laughed, "Now, we can either let you stay that way, or..." Lloyd whipped out his pistol, pressing it against the hostage's head, "...We can put you back to sleep. Permanently. Care to answer a few questions?"
The soldier, already terrified of the madman who literally held his life in his hands, quickly nodded several times, barely stammering a "Yes."
"Excellent." Lloyd's smile grew as he drew closer, wrapping one arm around the man in a hug, while the other kept the pistol pressed firmly against the hostage's head. Then, pressing his lips against the man's ear in a way that was almost erotic in nature, Lloyd softly whispered his demands.
"You have a master, don't you?" His voice was like that of a phantom, "Won't you tell me about him? Where can I find him?"
The man shuddered, glancing around desperately for any sign of hope. However, despite the obvious threat on his life, he said nothing. He was still more afraid of his master than he was of Lloyd.
Lloyd just smiled, accepting the challenge.
Moving even closer, until he was almost sitting on the soldier's lap, Lloyd chomped down, actually biting part of the man's ear off. The man howled in pain, until Lloyd quickly pressed the revolver ever harder onto his head, demanding silence.
"Not. Another. Word." He said sternly, "You will answer my questions, or I promise you a death far worse than anything your master could ever give you. Now... I'm also looking for a girl. She's a teenager with long black hair. Brown eyes..." Lloyd glanced at Heinrich, "Ah yes!" He exclaimed, "She also kills people! She's quite good at it too, so I suspect your master would take a personal interest in her. Won't you tell me where to find them?"
The man hesitated, before whispering his reply; "Death would be a mercy," He begged, "If you have any conscience at all, please kill me before he comes."
Sighing, Lloyd nodded with a look of rarely seen compassion. Unless he did something drastic to the man, it would be unlikely he would get any information out of him.
He pulled the trigger.
Lloyd's compassionate fasade quickly melted away, as a gleeful smile of betrayal arose on his lips. He had shot the hostage, but had been careful so the bullet only passed through the man's cheeks in a straight line, avoiding his brain, or anything vital. The soldier was now bleeding badly from the twin holes on his mouth, but was still alive.
Barely able to contain a squeal of sadistic delight, Lloyd threw the man painfully to the ground. The sheer joy of bringing physical pain paled in comparison to the psychological torment he could inflict. By giving, and then taking away hope from the hostage, Lloyd had crushed whatever trace of resolve was left in him. The man lay sobbing on the ground, completely robbed of any shred of human dignity.
"Your master's a vampire, isn't he?" Lloyd grinned, finally realizing who the boss was. What the soldier said about death being a mercy had been the giveaway. Only a creature who's power could surpass death itself could hold such a threat, and a virtually immortal vampire could do just that. The soldier sobbed in defeat, confirming Lloyd's suspicions.
Using his own blood, the soldier drew a crude map of the warehouse, pointing out Nightmare's private chambers as he begged Lloyd to kill him. Happy to comply, Lloyd promptly snapped the man's neck as soon as he had the information he needed.
"We'll probably find Subject 13, or at least the man that knows her location at this spot." Lloyd pointed to Nightmare's private chambers. "Make sure to contact Steinburg and Namir so they have this information. Also...." He gazed thoughtfully to the distance, remembering his last encounter with the vampire. This time, there would be no tainted blood to save him. Only a few new tricks Gregory had devised. Would that be enough? For the first time in years, Lloyd felt genuine worry, but also, the thrill of true anticipation. Win or lose, live or die, this would be a fight to remember, and a fight no one could ever know. Perhaps it represented something more than a simple war on crime. Perhaps this was a battle between the powers of man, and unnatural forces that lurked in the dark.
Was there really a difference? Lloyd gripped his pistol tighter in his hands, until he knuckles were almost white. He could barely contain he excitement.
"Tell me Heinrich," He whispered, "Do you have any experience with fighting vampires?"

~Lilith~

Run, run, run as fast as you can......
You cant catch us for we are the bloodly doll....
Run, run, run as fast as you can....
You cant get away from the bloody doll...

She moved in the shadows sing a creepy little song moveing with out care that she could be heard. she was drawing closer to them. A blood curdling scream could be heard as she caught someone. Lilith plunged an old hook in to there hands and used rope to bind them. This would keep there weight from ripping there hands apart. She pulled the chain to pull them off the ground.

She sang a new song as she did her work on this man
"Here's the little piggy,
See his snout,
Slit him open,
And guts fall out."

she cackled at the look of fear this man had across his face. Lilith danced about as she lay cuts in to the man. Some deeper then others. Each scream seemed to drive her to do more. Each scream and yelp for help made her skin shiver with enjoyment. Every struggle and movement of pain was a sick game to her. She broke an oil lamp open letting the flames rise. She let the fire kiss her blade making it hot. Lilith used the hot blade to cut the mans tong out sealing the wound shut so it would not bleed. To fallow that she slit him open but took care not to bring him death...no that would end the fun fair to soon. She did not want her fun to end she wanted it to last for as long as it could. She wanted to draw them to her, She wanted to play a game but by her rules. She used his blood to write on the wall;

One, two, Lilith's coming for you
Three, four, no where to hide
Five, six, get a Crucifix
Seven, eight, better pray
Nine, ten, you better RUN!

She giggled licking the blood off her hand almost as if she lusted for more blood, to hurt others. In ways she was recreating something that was done her but took it the next level. Fair above what was done to her. She new the good doctor would be with them and she wanted to send a message to him.

Any oil lamps she could find she let them hit the ground to start fires she wanted to make as much confusion as she could and the first fire she started was doing a good job of that. The more she could throw some one off there game the better, she pulled a piece of fabric over her nose and mouth to keep from inhaling to much smoke.

Dr. Steinburg

He moved taking people out with a little more kindness than Lloyd he may be heartless when it comes to his work but when it came to killing he had one. He sighed and shock his head moveing out of the area he was in. There was no sign of what they where looking for here. Slowly he moved checking rooms only to find them empty.

He sighed and moved to rejoin the team. Catching 13 alive was going to take a lot of man power and there was no way around that fact. She would be hard to take down. They need a plan that would keep her off balance in a fight. He rub the bridge of his nose thinking about the best way to go.

Hale looked down at the body on the floor. The guard had been exactly where he had been instructed to be, so it was not his fault. In truth even though Hale was certifiably insane, his mental faculties were perfectly fine. He had allowed his watchers to believe that he could move only a certain distance in a certain position. It was a hard to believe he could move that far while strapped up tight in a straight jacket but he had to make it seem like that was the best he could do.

Hale didn't waste anymore time as he slowly began to pop his joints out and wriggle against the specialized straight jacket. He bit back the pain as his joints continued to pop one after the other. he resetted them when he needed to using the floor and his own body. Within Five minutes the straight jacket was undone and he took off the mouth cover taking a deep breath of air.

"Okay, my little cadets," he muttered to himself. "It is time we have a crash course and see how well you have followed my instructions." With a large grin he kicked down the door and dispatched the three surprised guards in an instant. Not even checking to see if they had stopped breathing or not he dashed in a random direction knowing he would hit an exit sooner or later.

An emergency exit door opened slowly as a body slumped against it and fell to the floor. Hale stepped over it as if it was not even there. His straight jacket covered in blood splatters. He moved in a hurried walk as he slipped himself out of the jacket and dropped it on the ground. He continued his walk naked through the forest until he found the outer wall. He admired their caution noticing there were no trees nearby. He followed the wall until he found one that seemed more worn out with cracks. He kicked them a few times letting it break and crumble more. With effort he was able to make it over the wall and he landed on the other side back into a forest. He moved quickly and quietly only pausing to dispatch guards before breaking into the opposite direction to throw them off.

_____________________
It had probably been an hour and forty five minutes before he saw the signs of the city. A small smile appeared on his face. He looked down at his lack of clothes wondering if it would matter, but realized he could simply make something up. The day was long and air was fresh. His feet ached from running bare footed but he didn't really mind the pain. He would share the pain with others and it would be much worse.

-Nightmare-

The vampire paced back and forth around a small table in his personal quarters. On the table was a map layout of the entire base; Nightmare had indicated where the main battles were taking place. The Obsidian Snow soldiers would be able to hold their own against the police militia that was raiding. Every man and woman of Obsidian Snow was trained in armed and unarmed combat: it was a necessity, regardless of position. Scientists, spies, arcane specialists...everyone had to fight at one moment in their 'career'; however, Nightmare knew the battle was not swaying in Obsidian Snow's favour. Nightmare knew Lilith had to be right: it was a trap, but for who was the question that clouded Nightmare's mind. The only thing that could have sparked a sudden attack had to be Lilith's appearance. She had mentioned she was an experiment; no doubt a Requiem military project. Unfortunately for her previous masters, the weapon was about to be unleashed. Nightmare exited his chambers and began a quick pace through the shadows to keep an eye on his new ally.

Had Black Lace been her normal self, she could have provided reinforcements, intelligence, a warning, and limitless support. Nightmare knew her dissent would leave her absent from the ongoing struggle. Most of the Obsidian Snow forces considered Nightmare to be the de facto leader of Obsidian Snow, despite not wanting the position. Many agents started reporting to him for orders; Nightmare would usually just dismiss them and command them to go to Black Lace for orders. The vampire also received reports that many troops have started deserting the organization, forming their own crime syndicates. Nightmare sighed, it was as though a revolution was taking place within Obsidian Snow.

"My Lord," a voice whispered. Nightmare turned his head to see an Obsidian Snow agent cowering in the corner, blood drenched on his uniform. The vampire cautiously crept to the injured man. "Speak," he commanded.
"I was coming here to report something," he confessed, coughing as he spoke, "but I was attacked by a crazed man... he was no normal policeman." The man stopped to cough up some blood, indicating internal bleeding. "He had a priest with him, they took one of us away to be interrogated." Nightmare stood up, angered by the news and turned to deal with the issue: the Requiem was here.
"There's more, my Lord," the man interrupted, "I came to report that... Hale Erickson has escaped from Requiem captivity." Nightmare was shocked to hear that he had managed to escape one of the most heavily guarded Requiem-ran facilities. "I saw him while doing a reconnaissance run near the forest on the outskirts of the city." Nightmare put a hand on the man's shoulder.
"You've done your part, and a great service to this organization." Nightmare placed his hands on the man's cheeks and twisted, violently snapping the man's neck. "Now to exterminate a pest problem."

-Heinrich-

Heinrich was surprised by Lloyd's question, it caught him off guard, and for once, Heinrich felt useful. He smiled and quickly took out his large, pointed-edged cross and a vial of holy water.

"Well, Lloyd," Heinrich stated, smiling, "vampires happen to be my speciality." Heinrich took some time to splash a small amount of the holy water on his forehead to wash off the makeup, revealing the permanent cross on his forehead. "At the Vatican, they taught us how to defeat, and kill God's enemies. Humans are simple to kill, but a vampire, a werewolf, a demon... those requires fineness, and I spent years fine-tuning the art." Heinrich stopped to mutter a protection prayer for himself and Lloyd, before opening his eyes and looking around to assess the area.

"I take it we're going to see this vampire shortly?" Heinrich attempted to hide his heavy disdain for vampires; one vampire killed his family. It was the reason he became a part of the church and specifically why he worked to become a 'hunter' of sorts. Vengeance was a main motive, but Heinrich quickly turned away from the dark path; a part of him still desired the death and destruction of the vampire race.

Hale Erickson stepped out of an alley wearing clothes that were too long for him. He folded the pant legs up several times until they not only stayed but allowed his feet to touch the ground. He had spotted several supernatural beings running around the town. Apparently something was going on and his pupils were completely useless. He looked back in the alley where four bodies lay there none of them moving. One demon, I vampire and two humans. It had been the vampire that was just his size. It was the blood that seemed to call the creature to the alley.

"Such simple creatures," muttered softly as he walked into the main straight looking well out of place but no one bothered looking at him for too long for it seemed to unnerve them.. He snatched a wallet from a pick pocket right after she had snatched from another person. He walked into a bakery and bought a fresh loaf of warm bread. he then crossed the street over to a café and sat down. He made his order and waited less than a 20 seconds when the waitress quickly brought some butter, cheese, and some tea. Hale felt more calm as he took his surroundings in. They probably wanted to get him out as soon as possible. He understood, but he took his time regardless.
