Introduction
I suffer from headaches, the worst headaches ever. That's what I say anyways, and it's most likely true. Today, I woke up in my room. Got dressed, got my backpack packed. I left for school that morning. I also took my brothers wallet, for money. He owed me for covering for him last week.
As I arrived at school, and as the eclipse got closer, my headache began to get both worse and better. That's when armed men attacked. They forced us all inside the gym, everyone in my grade, and they started to call my name.
That's when it happened. The eclipse. They got frantic, started calling my name faster. That's when one of them grabbed me. He twisted my arm and pulled my out. My headache started to get worse. They took out their guns, they were about to shoot some of the other students. That's when it happened. In some sort of outburst, I somehow telekinetically pushed everyone and everything away. I then ran, I ran for my life. Not even looking back to see who was alive and dead.
But it didn't get better. I saw where I lived. Something had exploded in it. These two bodies were being loaded. But not a third. I realized my brother may still be alive. But I couldn't stay there, so I kept running. I went into the subway. I could see a few suited men behind me. I think they were after me. I quickly slipped onto a departing train, and sighed with relief.
My powers activated today, of all days. What made today special? Why were they after me? Who are they? Do they want us dead, or captured?
Well I can tell you one thing. I am not going down without a fight."
People have all gained some sort of power today. It is not yet as powerful as it could be, but it is powerful. Some people might develop telekinesis, and later also discover the ability to see into the future. Others may have the ability to cause explosions, maybe even nuclear ones, and others might control water, or have terrakinesis, which allows you to control and manipulate the ground. Maybe you can fly.
Either way, there are people after you. A top secret government program known as "Tanc", or Tactics And Neutralization Center, secret from even the president, has begun to capture people they have mapped out to have superpowers, based on bloodline and genetics.
But someone else has this roadmap too. Mercenaries have been spotted all over New York, and the USA in general. They have been sent to kidnap people with powers by force. A rich, mysterious figure is planning something, and it most likely will not be for the good of everyone.
But now that you have power and people are after you, the question is: What are you going to do with and about it?
And to throw in another question, what does the Eclipse have to do with it?

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 11 authors
The teenager piped up again. "We can both tell you're still blushing. Invisible or not."
Turning to face her, looking a little surprised. So she knew about his... ability then. Did she have one too? It was possible, with all the weird things happening recently. The woman fell unusually quiet for a moment or two as she felt the other girl scrutinising her. She decided to ignore her for the moment, quelling her curiosity and instead flashing the man a small smile. "Sorry. I forget sometimes..."
"So....how....damaged, I guess, were you? When we found you, I mean? It must not have been that much, right? Since you're so healthy right now." Grey eyes followed her closely as she passed by. Lilith had never claimed to be an actress, besides, she'd never had any lasting injury since she was a kid, so how was she supposed to know how to act like? As she gestured at her with her hand, she caught sight of something uncomfortably familiar; traces of blood around the fingernails. Incredibly easy to miss, deceptively hard to remove. This raised her suspicions, but she remained silent, just watching the kid until she had finished. "You did look like you were in a lot of pain though...."
Thankfully she quickly moved her attentions back onto their host, asking his name.
"L-Liam. Liam... Banks..."
So here she was, recovering from, judging from the headache, what should have been an overdose, in the apartment of a man she had met not an hour ago, who could also turn invisible, with a teenager with some sort of attitude problem.
"I'm Nadi. I don't suppose we could also get your name with your explanation?"
What the hell. She let her arm fall with a shrug, a grin spreading across her lips. "Lilith Ross. For the record, I definitely broke some ribs, probably punctured my lung while I was at. Painful, I guess, but it could have been worse. I'd need surgery for a collapsed lung, and I metabolise anaesthetic too quickly for it to work properly. Your turn now, Nadi. How about you tell me how you got all bloodied up earlier?"
Liam's eyes flitted between the two girls. The teenager...Nadi, was her name? Strange name...maybe a nickname for Nadia? Nadine? No, the a was too round for that. Most likely Nadia. Noddy. He remembered that show. A bit odd at times, and with tons of--he hoped--unintentional innuendos. Not necessarily sexual, but....you know, never mind. More pressing matters were at hand, he told himself.
He hadn't realized he had turned invisible earlier. And...Lilith...Lilith's reaction didn't betray too much. He could have had a nosebleed and get the same reaction. He understood Nadi's suspicions, even if he wasn't entirely sure what Nadi's ability was. She must have one, though. No one could have survived that blood splatter on her forehead. And it looked too intentional for it to just be a simple slip into blood or a solid bump into a lamppost.
He listened to Lilith's explanation. It didn't take him very long at all to realize she was an accelerated healer. The fact that she was standing here, without so much as a wrinkle of pain reflecting on her face, was proof enough. His cheeks still burned from the kiss he had received. His first. His own mother didn't even kiss him.
He wondered if Nadi and Lilith had the same ability. It would certainly explain the blood. He glanced at her face. She looked a bit conflicted, as if she still wasn't sure if she could trust the other girl or not. Liam wondered about this. She trusted him pretty quickly. Even revealed that she had a power. Did it happen to you too? she had asked, when they crashed into each other. He realized this was because she had seen him turn invisible. Seen his power in action. She didn't have to guess with him. His was pretty blatant.
Finally, Nadi spoke. "So, you heal yourself?" she asked, though it was more of a statement. "Hmph. As for me, I got shot point blank from the back of my head. As you can see, I didn't die. Not permanently anyways. I also got into a car accident earlier. Should have killed me. Did for a while. But then I stood up and walked away." She paused, as if collecting her thoughts. "It's not the same as you though. I still have cuts and scrapes on my knees and such." She displayed her elbow to prove her point. Sure enough, there was a dark graze mark, along with abrasions up her arm. "I guess it only heals the lethal injuries..."
A girl who can't be wounded, a girl who can't be killed, and a guy who can't be seen, all in the same room? Looked like his coincidence theory was correct.

Fear and pain gripped his heart tight. His eyes stung. Water was flooding his eyes. His breath was rapid. Uncontrolled.
"Mom... Dad... Why...?" He couldn't speak, this natural ability being blocked by the lump in his throat. Swallowing, he tried again.
"If... If I was just a few minutes earlier... I could have saved them." He said it matter-of-factly. His mind drifted to the memory.
"J!" Jonathan turned with a tired smile on his face. He could still feel the headache. It wasn't as bad as the eclipse but still pretty painful.
"What now?" He asked Abigail, a friend from university. She sauntered over to him holding his keys up on one finger, trying to hide her smug satisfaction..
"You'll uh, probably be needing these. You know, only if you want to head home." Her grin widened. He lifted his house keys off of her finger quickly.
"I do not stand in the presence of petty thieves." Turning dramatically, with mock annoyance, he walked away waving over his shoulder at her call.
After five minutes or so of walking, his house came into sight.
"Finally home..." He said just seconds before being lifted off his feet. The deafening sound penetrated his ears as the explosion sent an onslaught of shrapnel in his direction. Then it happened. The world around him slowed, practically to the point of stopping but not that far. There wasn't even sound, not that he noticed seeing as he was currently pirouetting through the air, hitting every stray piece of slowed shrapnel. The world faded to black as a forced struck his skull.
The memory ended.
"I was there. I was... I had just reached the driveway when it happened. You didn't see me, I was buried under a pile of debris." He chuckled quietly. "But I was there..." He turned to face the opposite side, where Alex sat. Warm tears broke free from his eyes and slid down his cheek. Jonathan closed his eyes and fought back the tears.
"So, we should probably go, before someone comes after us here..."
"I can't move yet. I've lost too much blood... I need rest. Sorry..." With one final, meaningful look at Alexandria, Jonathan gave into the demon enticing him. Dreams were not always nice to him...
"Hey Matty," She said, aimed at the kid in the room, "I gotta know, how much do you remember of me, back when your brother and I were best friends?" She knew this wasn't the time or place to ask this, that she should be focused on helping him with the loss of his parents, but when she didn't want to think of something, she always just let her mind drift away. "I mean I have known you forever, but I was just curious. Anyway, want another doughnut while we wait for your brother?" She said while grabbing the near empty box, and handing it over to him.
That's when Alex asked him "I gotta know, how much do you remember of me, back when your brother and I were best friends?". He blushed slightly, and quickly took the donut and averted his eyes. If Matthew was ever interrogated by a friend, it would be more effective to have him tell them straight to keep a secret from someone he was friends with. Especially about themselves. At least against strangers they would have to find someway to get him talking when they posed a clear threat or were suspicious. But someone like his best friend Hunter, or his brother or Alex, he could never keep a secret from. He could try, but once they asked, it was near hopeless. Matthew blushes red, and averts his gaze, as well as fidgeting with his sleeve and trying to change the subject.
"So, exactly why aren't you so surprised from all this? Because I'm guessing whatever happened that knocked me out wasn't exactly normal, or you would have asked me about it...." he asked, fidgeting with his sleeve. Sometimes, his youth and innocent looks and smile could easily mask his large IQ.
"Well, I guess that... Well, I don't really know, I guess. I guess I am good with dangerous situations, like before I moved to the United States, these bad men tried to hurt me and my family for some reason, but no matter how bad it got, my mom would always tell me to be a brave little girl, and I always was. So, I guess it has to do with childhood trauma or something like that." She said it all with a smile, but she continued, "And by the way, I used to babysit you Matty, and I know how bad a liar you are. We would play Go Fish and when ever you had something you didn't want to give up, you would always blush and try not to look me in the eye, kind of like now." She started to chuckle a little bit, remembering all the fun she had when she was younger. But her story wasn't over yet, "But I always had a way to make you talk. I would tickle you until you begged me to stop, although given the fact I would have to climb over your brother to do that now, I will let you tell me without torturing you. Deal? Now answer, what do you remember?" She had stopped laughing, but wore a very soft smile, it was nice to think about the history she had with the Reed's. She got up out of her chair and sat on the bed, criss-cross style, in front of Matty and J.
"Let's just say.....there are a few things I might want to forget....." he added, blushing way more red. Matthew was sometimes too smart for his own good, and knew a bit too much. And right now, he wished that in his gigantic will he was able to use at least some of that for keeping secrets. "Right, ummm, no bad feelings, right? So, anyways, what's your real reason now. We both know that isn't why, you did tell me you were 4 when you moved here. Or was that your parents? Either way, your hiding something too....."
Footsteps. And heartbeats. One stood out- fast and quieter than the others. A scared child? It was possible. "Adrian. There are people upstairs. You can hear their footsteps." She didn't mention their heartbeats, knowing he wouldn't believe her. She crept towards the stairs, quiet as a cat, intent on finding that lone heartbeat.
-------------------------------------------
Claire sat in this small closet, trying to look under the door but seeing no light. She heard the sound of boots all around her, moving slower as they neared the door in front of her. Her breathing silent, she moved towards the back of the room. No noise, she couldn't make a sound or they'd find her. She tensed as the footsteps started again, starting to walk away as she heard the sound of a radio. No words, just static. A light shone under the door, passing by a moment later as she heard three pairs of footsteps. They moved around inside this room, moving in darkness around her, an occasional crash of a door breaking off it's hinges. She mumbled under her breath to herself, trying to calm herself. "You need to be quiet."

"Well, you are right about something being wrong with my story. The people you know as my parents, aren't." She said, waiting a moment to let that sink in before continuing, "My 'father' is really my uncle, and 'mom' is his wife. My parents were killed back in back home, by a ruthless man. See my parents had powers, I can't remember what exactly, but we always had fresh fruit, even in the winter months, so I am guessing they could grow them or something. My uncle and Aunt were visiting when it happened." She stopped to take a breath, "Someoen broke into our house, and killed them both, and i just remember so much blood." She shivered at the memory, "So, they braught me back to try and keep me safe, and they have, until now." She felt a tear escape her eye, she always cried when she remembered her parents, but she was not going to let herself break down now, when Jonathan and Matty both needed her.
She gave herself a moment to recompose herself before starting again, "Ok, I felt you were old enough to know, I told your brother when we were twelve. Now tell me, what do you remember about me?" She said, eyes still bloodshot, but she had a smile on her face, despite the aweful memories going through her head.
Matthew then added "Also, I know about your diary under the pillow...." he noted, quickly going to grab it, but having it meet him the rest of the way via Telekinesis. He might not be able to hold secrets well, but he was clever. Thats when the book started to flip open on its own. But before he could say anything else, he noticed a flashing outside the window. He peeked out again, and armed men were searching the building across from them. He sighed in relief.
"Also, I know that one of you took my $5 while I was asleep.....just to add that....and on a side note, shouldnt we get some painkillers for my brother?"
"So, you heal yourself?" She nodded with a small smile, listening to the teenager explain herself, finding herself reluctantly impressed as the girl when on. 'Just like Jack Harkness..' She thought with a small smile, but decided not to share her thoughts. She didn't want to antagonize Nadi, not yet at least.
"...And you feel completely fine? No dizziness, nausea, headaches..." Gosh, why did she sound like her dad all of a sudden? "I was so sick after my first 'death', it wasn't funny. I won't even discuss the first time I got shot..." Lilith trailed off, thinking it that maybe these two didn't really need to know about gruesome injuries...
Different, but similar abilities. The common factor being the seemingly inability to die for any length of time... Interesting.
"So do you know who was shooting at you back there?" If all three had gifts, there had to be a string chance that the attacks on them were connected. "Because someone's after me, too. I got needled in the street, sedatives I think, it's why I fell. My apartment was trashed a few days ago as well... Nothing was taken, and the cops said there was nothing to suggest it was a hate crime." She made a small gesture down at her attire before she shrugged a little.
"Well, I am not a pharamastist, so the strongest thing i have is Advil, so i don't know how affective i can be. Also, don't ever read a girl's diary, or you will end up with some damaged fruit." She said as she grabbed her book back, hoping he didn't read to much of it, before she went into her bathroom and grabbed the bottle of Advil and began crushing the tablets into a powder with a spoon and her finger. While she was doing this, she decided to make small talk, "Just you wait until you have your first crush, that big brain of yours will go right down the toliet for that person. Your brother's certainly did." She laughed a bit, before finishing crushing four pills and looking at the powder. "By the way, it was your brother that would eat the oreo's, not me."
And frankly, Matthew wants answers more then anything. Perhaps a bit of rage still survived in that need. At the school, they tried to take him alive, shooting witnesses instead. At the subway, the man tried to kill him. The one thing that didn't fit was the death of his parents. He knew this. The men in the suits also decided not to use lethal force.
He knew this would probably get him no answers, but he decided to ask anyways. "Why do you think our parents were killed and our house blown up. Its the one thing in this that doesn't make sense. Excluding the serial killer from the subway, everyone has tried to take us alive. Or me anyways And if it was the killer, why them anyways. And why explosives. It doesn't make sense....Any ideas?"
"Ok, I don;t know how much longer we would have here, people seem to be checking the buildings. We need to change our appearances, they probably have a search going on for people in the clothes they saw us in. I have my clothes, and Mrs. Fitsparick's son is aroudn Jonathan's size, but unfortunatly, the only clothes that would fit you are her grandaughter's." She stopped herself, taking a moment to chuckle at the idea of him in her clothes, but knew there was no other choice, So she left him there while she went back to her old neighboors, but when she knocked on the door, it only opened.
Inside she found a note saying she had to get groceries, and that she was making stew for her family and that she was welcome and her friends. She did this at least once a week, and Alex usually accepted. She made her way quickly to the bedroom used for her son and grandaughter, and took out a simple pair of jeans, undershirt, and sweatshirt for Jonathan, and tried to pick out something not completly girly for Matty, but her grandaughter was a girly-girl. She finally decided on a pair of jeans she was surprised she would wear, but the only clean shirt that Matty wouldn't throw a tantrum at was a purple shirt with cartoon-y fox on it, it was from some show appeartly, but she never could understand what. And to finish it off, she took a hat off her son's dresser, but didn't see what was on it.
She went back to her apartment with the clothes she had picked out, and layed them on the bed, "Sorry, Matty. It was either this or a pink frill dress. Try to wake your brother while I change." She said as she picked out her new clothes, simple blouse and chopped pants, and went into the restroom to give him privacy while he hopefully changed, and she really didn't want to get naked in front of the kid, although, she would need to undress Jonathan if was still too weak, although she prayed she didn't have to.

The Street Below....
Matthew found himself outside, on the street. Did he teleport? No, it didn't feel like he was actually "there", more like an Out of Body Experience. He then realized he was on the street below. Thats when one person fell nearby, and a bag she was carrying went flying through him. "Uhh, im not a ghost....right? I don't remember dying.....". He then looked at the truck. He quickly ran over to it, staying to the side of it, and looking inside. It had a bunch of computers and such. Thats when the last two men in there bolted out and started searching the building next to the one he was in. Or is. Matthew knew his body was still there, but he was here. "Oh, this is like Astral Projection, isn't it....." he realized. He then went to the computers in the truck. They were all focused on the buildings, and thought no one would try to get in. he noticed the "T.A.N.C. Label on the sides and on the equipment. However, when he got to the computer, he realized he had a problem. He couldn't touch the keyboard and mouse.
Thats when he remembered what he did earlier. "Okay. Now, I just need to use it on purpose....". Additionally, he had to actually focus on which keys he pressed. He then glanced at some papers they had layed out. "Matthew Reed, Powers: Telekinesis, rest unknown, possibly Telepathy, Jonathan Reed, Molecule Manipulation, Alexandria Tamon, Terrakinesis...." he read, those being the first three. But thats when he noticed three others. "Claire Mills, Claivoyance?, Liam Banks, Invisibility, Lilith Ross, Rapid Cell Regeneration" he read, noting the question mark at the end of Clairvoyance. "Well, clearly these people are getting their data somewhere else, I doubt any of them know what this means.....". There were others as well, but they were covered.
But right before go was about to go, he saw an email come up on the computer. "Hunter Rikker detained at Hospital pending recovery". This shocked him. "Hunter is my best friend. We have.....oh. We have so much alike, we were always similar.....". He seriously hoped they weren't alike in this way too. Wanting to learn more, he decided to try and open it. Using all his focus, he managed to get the mouse to get it to open. For some reason, small precise movements were harder then moving large things clumsily. When he got it open, he read it. It was the same hospital that the doctor he thought would know something about this worked. Two Birds with one stone! However, Matthew then realized he had a problem. He had no clue how to get back into his own body. "Well, maybe I just need to focus really hard....". He decided to get out of the truck first off. When he got out, most of the people were in buildings, but a few were outside now. He quickly took cover behind some crates they unpacked. Granted, they couldn't hurt him, but he would rather not want them to know he was here......and he started to try and focus once more.

A flurry of images attacked his mind. Sounds tormented him from all directions. Unknown scents and tastes bombarded his senses. On his body, he could feel the force of the explosion hit him. Then his tormentors exploded into mist and swirled together like a tornado, with Jonathan in the eye of the storm.
"What the...?" Suddenly, without any warning, the smoke closed in on him.
As he opened his eyes, Jonathan jumped. He was standing in a street but instead of cars and people, he could see grey objects. They had no features to suggest anything else. Jonathan suddenly realized he couldn't feel his body. Looking down, he almost died on the spot in horror. There was no body. Controlling his breathing... but he didn't need to control it here. In fact, he didn't need to breathe at all.
"Okay... I'm really confused..."
Jonathan moved forwards. Instead of taking one ordinary step however, the street blurred past him. Looking back, Jonathan realized he had just traveled around 20 meters in one step.
"No. No, no, no, no, NO!" His mind retreated rapidly, leading him away from this strange place...
Jonathan jumped awake. He sat up quickly and was met by pain.
"Argh! Fuck!" He bellowed, gripping his side.He slowed his breathing, then finally noticed the dead weight pressing down on his legs.
"Matty...?" Jonathan rolled the boy over slightly. His eyes widened in horror.
"Matty!" He shook him by the shoulders. Nothing.
"Matthew Reed you wake up this instant!" He shouted before slapping his brother across to wake him. Jonathan could slap really hard.
"Release me immediately!" the guy said, hate blazing in his eyes, voice too loud for Solia's liking! "You are innterupting a work of vital importance! We have clearance to kill anyone who-"
"Oh, shut up!," she snapped, slapping a hand over his mouth. "What do we do?" she asked Adrien, while looking at the guy. His outfit ticklied something in the back of her memory, particularily the acronym blazed across his chest. T.A.N.C. Where had she seen that before? Earlier today....Oh, you have got to be kidding me. "I think he's with the police or something, I saw a ton of guys in the street earlier, surrounding some kids...then a freak tornado exploded, and...and they were threatening to, to take down...to kill the kids." Claire. WHat if they were searching for Claire? Were they going to kill her, too?
"Uhhhhh......we should probably go soon, if your ready. Other then the fact there are armed men with papers about us and our abilities, as well as a few others......." he noted, remembering the names: Claire Mills, Liam Banks, Lilith Ross. Thats when he told Jonathan "Have you ever had an out of body experience?". Bt, right after he asked, he could hear loud banging and armed men entering the building.
"Uh oh..."
"Uhhhhh......we should probably go soon, if your ready. Other then the fact there are armed men with papers about us and our abilities, as well as a few others......."
Jonathan stopped dead in his tracks. His blood ran cold. Turning his head slowly, he stared at Matty in horror.
"We gotta move." He looked around for Alex but she was gone.
"Bathroom. She's probably go there to get changed."
"Have you ever had an out of body experience?"
"Wha-"
A loud bang from downstairs drew his attention away from his brother. The sound of footsteps going quickly up stairs followed after every few bangs.
"They're here." He closed eyes and decided on what to do. Opening them, he sighed.
"Our best bet would probably be the rooftops unless we can get past these guys but if I am right, they will send half of their men to check the floors and the rest to guard the stairs in case anyone tries to come down. I can slow them down but I can't stop them. Get Alex. Tell her I'll be back in a minute. When you hear the noise stop, get to the roof."
He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. He stepped towards the door and opened it silently, but quickly, before stepping out into the dark hallway. Making his way to the stairwell his heart dropped.
"They are a lot closer than I expected..." He decided to give Matty a minute to go and get Alex before slowing the guys.
"As soon as I hear footsteps behind me I'll slow them down..."
She dashed out of the room to catch Jonathan, and caught him at the stair case, "Look, J. I don't know what's going to happen, and I just wanted to say sorry." She felt tears begin to form, but she held herself back, "If it wasn't for me, you two could have been off in another state by now, So, please just forgive me." She finished and she knew they didn't have much time, so she kissed him once again, this time without pulling anything out of him, "I'm sorry." She said, eyes full of tears, before turning to Matty, "Lets go, we need to be quick. They should be below us, so go into that apartment," She pointed at her elderly neighboor's home, "And go out the fire escape, it leads all the the to the top of the building, and it is close enough to thge next to jump. Got it." She asked, before grabbing his hand and pushing him into the apartment, letting him go first, before she followed, but she decided to go outside, just incase they could see her, and they apperently didn't. Although she could see the tanks with the TANC logo on it as she unhooked the gates, allowing them to travel upwards.
