FASHION STYLE
Naia likes to feel unrestrained. Nothing sucks more than not being able to use the full extent of her reach because the clothing fibers around her body are just too tight to allow movement, so to that end, she typically ends up wearing very loose and flowing clothing. This includes palazzo pants and maxi skirts, linen shirts with wide or mandarin colors. She also tends to stick to natural fibers and colors, beiges and earthy greens, whites and greys. Her vibe in general is very airy.

HERO UNIFORM
It's a little weird, granted, but her uniform is specially woven from fibers designed from her own hair. Since Naia can erase (almost) anything she touches with all five fingers, it's, sadly, happened before that while she was reaching for something, her hand was redirected towards herself, and she was left shocked and humiliated for a second. Long enough. But she can't erase herself, so just to be safe rather than sorry, her suit is built to resist embarrassment by her own hand. Other than that, it's relatively simply. A black jumpsuit with silver detailing and trimming. It favors mobility over defense, since her style prioritizes moving quickly.

ABILITIES ⟶ ERASURE
There are a rather large number of people that believe that Naia goes by Blink because she can teleport, blinking in and out of existence. They are wrong. She does not blink herself. She blinks other things. Naia's real ability is the power momentarily erase from existence any non-living matter that she touches with all five fingers of either hand. Including space. Which is why she can teleport, but only short distances. She just reaches out, grabs the space between where she is and where she wants to be, and in the split second it is gone, steps over. She could erase other things too—a door she'd like to go through, rubble blocking her path, a table people are eating on just for laughs. But the ability itself is not really all that powerful. To begin with, it really is only for a moment. Just over a second, the government tells her. Not enough time to do much of anything at all. Then there's the weight limit. She doesn't know what it is exactly, but she knows that while she can erase a tree, she can't erase a skyscraper. But the worst of it is the nausea. Blinking too much too fast—as is typically necessary in a long term battle—makes her feel like throwing up. And then she does. Throw up, that is. Her limits can be expanded and pushed with continued time and practice, but for now, she's still new to the business.

Naia has always been an overachiever. Teacher's pet. Brown-noser. Boot licker. She's heard it all. Naia doesn't seek out approval, though, she seeks out results. It's not her fault the approval tends to follow. She doesn't particularly care if people like her, she just cares if she's doing better than them. All of them. Naia wants—no, needs—to be the best. She can't tolerate anything else. She'll push herself to the brink of breaking and back to get to her goals, and if there's a line she's not willing to cross, she hasn't found it yet.

But despite her ruthless ambition, Naia is not impossible to get along with. She's not exactly likable, by any means, doesn't like to idle around with chatter when she could be getting work done, but she's not needlessly rude or dismissive either. She can be brusque. She can be blunt. But she can also be kind. Naia likes to talk so long as that is not the only thing getting done. And there's a person or two she's come to pencil appointments into her schedule, whole blocks of time dedicated to nothing but them. Because if Naia is one thing other than prickly, it's devoted. A bond of trust is one made for life, and she believes that.

Ultimately, Naia can get locked into a world that shrinks down to fit only her and her goals, completely blind to the people around her, all chasing their own goals. She knows what she likes and dislikes and wastes no time separating things into the two categories. And then also wastes no time on those that fit into the latter. She possesses a pool of seemingly infinite patience when it comes to certain things—practicing one thing again and again until it comes fluidly and perfectly—and a remarkably short fuse when it comes to others—personal annoyances. There's a tough and rather spiny outer layer to Naia, but she is not thorn-coated all the way through.

HISTORY
Naia was raised in the care of her rather ruthless grandma. The daughter of a immigrant father and a third generation mother, Naia's physical well-being was a stronger priority to them than her emotional upbringing. Neither took much time off of work to wait with her while she grew. Her grandmother fed her, bathed her, and watched her take her first steps and speak her first words. She doesn't fault her parents for it now, can't blame them at all for wanting Naia to have enough to grow up in comfort, but as a child, even the knowledge of this did not comfort her in her desire to have them there and present. She lived her life unnoticed trying to catch their eyes for longer than a moment.

So she began to excel. In schooling and martial arts and crafts. Anything she could get her hands on, she aimed to be the best. After a number of years of disheartening results, she lost to will to continue the endeavor, eventually realized the childish whims of selfishness did not suit her. But she didn't shake the ambition. Throughout the course of her attempts, she'd discovered the natural rush of success, the adrenaline that seeing the results of her work shot to her head and heart. She didn't care much for schoolwork, but athleticism was another story. And her power only added another dimension of interest, another flaw to make a strength, to incorporate into something unique. It wasn't what she wanted. If she had to choose her power, she'd pick something that could make her stronger or faster or durable. But she's learned to make it something strong. She obsessed days and nights over how to make it into something she could work with, something that would improve her martial style. And she found something. So damned if she was going to let them take it away from her. Besides, being a hero? Just another mountain to conquer. Another success to be had.

It was definitely not Kip's coolest entry, but as he corrected his shirt and grinned at those around him, he shrugged off the potential embarrassment easily. Instead, he sent a wink at Bronwyn, having heard her words.

"Maybe you should lend me a few clones each morning so I can look as gorgeous as you." he suggested with a grin before blowing a kiss at his teammate. It was then that an arm wrapped around his neck and Kip found himself fighting for his dignity again as Carter attempted to ruin Kip's carefully crafted bed head.

"Carter!" Kip complained, trying to push the other boy off. He was a second away from viciously going for a nipple twist when he was released. Kip gave a laugh and elbowed Carter back before running hasty fingers through his hair to straighten it. "I'll get you back for that." he promised before turning his attention to the Agent addressing them.

Kip listened intently all the way up to 'field work', where he let out a cheer and pumped his fist in the air. He was ready to prove his stuff out of the training room and, if he was being honest, he was ready for the attention heroes could get from the public. Dreams of being showered in love letters and signing posters of himself looking heroic filled his head, and we're only broken when he realised that his twin sister had been placed on the other team from him.

Kip pulled a face and glanced at Kat, knowing that he would worry about her more if he wasn't with her. It was stupid, since he knew that she was fully capable of taking care of herself, but the twins were also stronger when fighting side by side. He had no time to complain though, merely having to mouth "good luck" at his sister before leaving with his team.

With a grin, Kip walked up to Lucas and clapped him on the back. "Lucky you, Lu, you've got me on your team to show you how to fight." He laughed and glanced at the others walking with him to the meeting point, "if anyone wants pointers, just watch me in battle. I'll teach you a few things."

Kip's self-confidence was usually what propelled him to push himself, but also got him in trouble more often than not. He wasn't the best fighter in the team, but he acted like it often enough. Regardless, when they arrived to hear their duties for the patrol, he had enough sense to listen attentively, even if he occasionally elbowed Enzo in excitement.

Will, standing behind Kip, had to marvel at his unprofessionalism. She knew he was a decent fighter, otherwise he would have been kicked out long ago, but the boy had a mouth that wouldn't stop. She didn't necessarily dislike him, but she didn't particularly like him either. Whenever something idiotic came out of his mouth, it made Will wonder how two twins could be so different.

The speeches were given and the Echo team were split further. Will moved to stand beside Naia, a friendly now directed at the other girl. She was relieved with her pairing, Naia was more than capable and Will could now look forward to what she hoped would be a smooth patrol.
