Description:

I am Hipo, Hipo J'novi. I come from the planet earth though my origins are unknown. I take place in the years of 1400-??? A.D. I am a gelatinous mass that usually takes the form of the 14 year old, average Italian human boy. I can see, touch, smell, taste and hear. Though I do not feel any pain. I enjoy to travel, smell any fresh breeze and the company of others
I have no family though I do know how to take care of myself. I am shy and often hide when presented with a sudden face. I wear a pine green, cargo jacket with a plain top underneath, jeans, and converse high tops in my usual form (even when they weren't available/made). I can also form into anything that I see, as well as their color, from the inanimate to a mammal. I can move at speeds up to 150 mph and multiple bodies with different or similar forms.

I think like a mirror, and I've gotten so far in speech by copying what others have said. I have a very elaborate mind and can remember anything that has been said (Heard, tasted, felt, hurt, etc.). Finding a new personality or a new person, I would greet myself with a timid soul. But, slowly, if you stay with me for too long, I would become an exact form of yourself...and like it. If I do not stay around a personality for a while, I would begin to talk less and less until I would not speak at all. What the effect of water does to me is that my genetic material would wear away at this substance and would be able to heal itself. He carries the antidote on him, but in small amounts.

I got the name Белый Защита based on the appearance of what I look like in combat. When felt threatened, I will use my matter to rid of the assaulter anyway possible. I would also do so with no emotion but the will to kill the threat until it is gone. At that point, after the threat is gone, I would turn back to my usual being. Long exposure in fighting can leave me dizzy afterwards and in critical cases, faint almost immediately with an indefinite recovery time. And even fighting for just a few minutes will leave me with amnesia. I would forget what happened in combat and never be able to remember.

So begins...

I'm startled by the gunshot, but feel protective arms grab me. I curled up slightly, waiting to get hit, but it never came. I looked up as I was spoken to. Stay here, got it. I nodded, my right hand touching the handle of the fun. I tensed, wincing as White Protection was hit in the face. I bit my lip, watching him disappear. I stayed crouched, going over to a desk and flipping it over, sitting behind it, listening for anything outside the door. I closed my eyes, slowing my breathing to a steady pace. I couldn't just shoot randomly, and I knew I needed to be able to concentrate.

~~

Most of the gunmen shifted position, continuing to fire.

~~

Leon cursed as he was called again. "What?!.." he listened for a few moments. His face paled and he frowned further, if possible. "They're firing guns?...Get her out. Now." he said, not caring if someone overheard the phone call. He hung up.

I heard a bit noise coming from the street down the road. I had to have been one of the agents of the corrupted government with some reinforcements. I didn't think rationally and left the side walk that was closest to Satey. I sprinted around the corner and took one of the vehicles right under the driver's nose. Holding it by the tire, I swung it into the next car coming down the road as well. The men inside their vehicles had no time to react and died on impact. Their cars took a beating and released a small explosion. I got a bit close to the blast and lost my footing and landed on my back. I quickly propped myself back up, sniffing a bit to try and get the dust out of my nose.

Almost immediately I rushed to all the people that I saw, splitting into 3 beings yet again. I slid up the office buildings, nearly leaving scathing burn marks on the side of the glass towers. I grabbed two by their collars and threw them to the ground, hearing only two spines crack, I noticed that my third copy was having a bit trouble with his but eventually got to it. The rest of the men sprinted off, cowering against what they thought they could handle. I merged my bodies once again and searched the area from the center of the street. There weren't any sounds of gunfire, so I assumed that it was over. I began to run out of energy and I needed to get to cover, fast. The sounds of helicopters and screeching tires were making our way to us.

I quickly made my way back to Satey and I stated in between breathes, "Listen... we have to hide in the building. Somewhere where ...there isn't any windows, like the bathroom. I would stay and fight them, but... I don't know if I can stand any longer." I gently held her hand and found a stair case labeled with the words "Floors 2-11" next to the vacant elevator. I doubted that the power was working, so I lead her up the stairs to about floor 5 and I found a bathroom across box offices upon box offices. It almost felt like I was going to tire out. But I opened the door and sat down on the floor, panting as my eyes flickered on and off like a light switch.

Everything was suddenly eerily silent, which made me extremely nervous. I jumped as the door opened. I pointed the gun- Lowering the gun, I sighed loudly. "You scared me." I mumbled, nodding as he spoke. I followed White Protection to a better hiding place. Pausing by the door, I then sit beside him. I place my hand gently on his shoulder. "Are you okay?" I ask softly, biting my lip.

~~~
Guards began to surround the building, planning an attack.
~~~

I sigh softly. "I can protect us if you want me to...I really can do it."

I smile faintly. "You saved me..I owe you more than I can ever repay..no need for thanks." I watched him a moment before looking at the door, thoughtful. I was beginning to form a plan, but my thoughts were interrupted by a hand on my shoulder. I listened intently to White Protection's plan before nodding. It was definitely better than anything I could come up with. I hid behind a box, curling up tightly, closing my eyes. Listening, I waited until I heard 'it's over'. I stood, letting myself be grabbed. I closed my eyes as we went through the window. Partially, I didn't want to look down, partially so I could listen. I could hear the guards scrambling inside. Some shot guns, others searched quietly. I wondered where the president was..why wasn't he accompanying his troops like usual?

I finally reached the bottom and slid away from the scrimmaging going on in the building behind me. I held onto Satey's neck, to prevent her from getting whiplash as I sprinted away from the scene. The sound of the concrete below me was still cracking as it always does when I run, so I slowed down a bit, trying to keep myself from running too loudly. Eventually it got to the point where the concrete stopped crushing under my force and I turned into an alleyway around seven blocks away.

I wasn't in fighting form at the current time, so I still kept up my energy. I leaned against the wall with Satey at my side and whispered, "Okay, now that we've gotten to a stopping position, we need to think." I stroked my chin and thought about multiple ideas but they all scratched out in my mind. I rested my hands against my legs and realized something. There was a group out there that I knew that hadn't shown there faces yet. I'm pretty sure when we we're at the airport, the cameras that were pointing at me were sending live across the world. The F.G.A, my worst enemy ought to have seen the broadcast of me and my power.

Staring over to the side, I saw a man in a white labcoat carrying a small device with a needle attached to it. He was looking the other direction so I took this opportunity to grab Satey and run to the other side of the alley, hiding behind the wall adjacent from us. The scientist's head flicked towards that direction, but he promptly ignored it and continued on down the street. I breathed out and thought, "That's why the president wasn't with his men. That's why the F.G.A. didn't come to me immediately. The F.G.A has joined the President to see my utter demise!" I breathed through my teeth, my eyes glowing there usual white and I said, "We need to go out of here, now."

I sprinted off down a main street and headed for the highway that we left before. Unfortunately, there were a few men from the F.G.A that saw me running that way. They pulled small circular objects out and flung it in the air. The small saucers then began to follow me, sending small blasts of water my way. I cursed under my breath and tried to run faster in the other direction, dodging the squirts of water the best of my ability. One lucky shot got me on the shoulder and I winced in pain but kept moving. We eventually made it to the highway and I found a vacant SUV and put ourselves in it.

The shield of metal prevented the blasts of water from reaching me and I gasped as I sat against the car seat. The F.G.A had special substances in their water that made me hurt even more so I was struggling to get the car started. With the keys in the ignition, I bolted north, I tried my best to ignore the wound in my shoulder. I took a sip of antidote from my satchel and grunted as I swallowed.

I stood, thinking, staring at the ground. I was caught off guard when we moved again. I watched White Protection carefully. "F.G.A.?" I noticed something was wrong, but silently I allowed him to leave. The moment we were in the SUV I climbed into the back seat, ducking into the floor and beginning to take apart the pistol I had. "What's the F.G.A.?" I ask, continuing to work with the parts of the gun. I had an idea, but I was unsure if I had the time...or the right gun. I paused, looking up at the top of the car, thinking.

~~~~~
President Leon pulled up to the fight scene. He climbed out, slamming the door. "Where is she??"
His troops slowly took a step back, no one answering the question.
I put the pedal to the metal, rushing down the road and aiming at the flying devices chasing me. I hit a few and they fell before I stopped for a moment and tried to explain the organization to Satey. "Foreign. Genetics. Association. They are the men who take anything that no one can explain." I said, looking in the rear view mirror seeing the saucers still following us. I turned the car on an exit that led to the major interstate, speckled with empty vehicles. "The government formed this group after Area 51 was a bust after all the UFO sightings in the 60's. The government kept the actual evidence of the sightings and studied them, while telling the public that these were completely deemed 'false'. Eventually, the sightings got less and less as the people lost interest and the government gained knowledge. The F.G.A soon followed and they've been picking unknown objects ever since. I've been caught and stuck in there a couple times. It was easy to get out the first time, but the second... I was stuck in there for five years." I stated, driving down the road and sighing as the small saucers lost distance and eventually stopped.
I glanced at Satey and muttered, "They've prodded me, shocked me and just tortured me to get a few answers to question they can't solve. And their sole purpose is to contain unidentified objects, forever most likely." There was a bit of a pause before we got rolling on a uninterrupted pathway, seeing that it was a lot to unload on Satey. "I'm... sorry that I just poured all that on you. It's just that I haven't told a lot of people that before." I stared down the road, trying to hold wheel steady as my emotions began to affect my motor skills.
I listen carefully, intently. I bit my lip. "That's...terrible." I say frowning a little. I stood slightly, hugging him from behind the seat. "We'll get out of here..okay?" I say quietly, abandoning my project for the moment. I was glad the metal things where gone. I noticed the saucers quit following us, then remembered my project. Gently, I let go. "Well..I have an idea that might...be able to.." I looked at the gun, "get revenge on them if we get stuck in another...uh...situation." I say, sitting in the back seat.
I grasped my shoulder as I felt her arms around me. For once, I didn't feel like the one protecting. Most of the damsels that I had to deal with would often rely on me to do everything for them. But, Satey was different than the rest of the people I've saved. She looked past her own safety and went on trying to keep me safe as well. It touched my heart, whether it existed or not, and this was more than I asked for.
Suddenly, my eyes began to flash as my emotions raced. I quickly gripped the wheel, trying to hold myself together. There was only one flaw to myself and the mortal human. Once I make emotional connections, strong emotional connections, it's hard to keep myself together. There were flashes of the dream that I've always had and I cringed. As still as possible, I stared at the road ahead of me and tried to keep myself from unhinging my own mind. It was almost like trying to hold back a sneeze; it was so difficult. I stared ahead, struggling to focus on the highway instead of my companion in the back seat. Yet, I managed to calm down and breath so that I could focus again. I coughed a little as the antidote was still hanging in my throat. I looked back to Satey and said, "I'm sure you'll be able to get revenge on them for me. You're more than capable of protecting yourself. But, until you start slow..." I breathed for a moment, almost begging myself not to go berserk in my mind. My eyes returned to a soft brown and I stated, "You're only going to get yourself hurt. And I don't want that."
I nodded, understanding. "Okay." I say, looking out the back window. I then return to the floor, searching under the back seat. I found a medical kit and a toolbox. "Cool.." I mumble to myself, opening them. Bingo. I set the parts of the gun on the back seat and begin working, careful, using a pair of tweezers, a wire, and some medical tape. My mind ran through the blueprints I had set out in my mind. If I twisted the wire around this, I could connect it here with a little tape and then wrap electrical tape around this, then I can put these two pieces together.. When we hit a bump I froze, not wanting to mess anything up. Good, everything was just perfect. I wondered how President Leon was doing, but it was a subconscious wondering. The rest of my mind was focused on this project and making sure we got out alive, and safe. I didn't want to see my savior get hurt, and I wasn't going to let anyone hurt him if I could help it.
I steered into the gas station a few miles away from Austin and glanced back to Satey, raising a brow. There was a mess of parts everywhere and I almost laughed, but only a wet scoff came out. Not arrogantly, of course, but almost in a kidding kind of way. "No wonder you've been so quiet. What's that you've been working on back there?" I asked tilting my head slightly. I open the car door and went inside, scanning for food and water. Surprisingly, we weren't as prosperous the last time we hit a gas station. There were only a few packages of gum, three bottles of vitamin water and a few stray bags of chips. I grabbed the dry items and took a dirty cloth lying on the front counter where the cashier should be. I carefully handled the bottles, attempting to get the condensation off my skin.
I came back to the car and said, almost apologetically, "Here's some snacks. We didn't have as much of a profit as last time, but at least it's better than nothing." I looked to the sky and saw the sun begin to hit around 4 o'clock. I thought in the back of my mind to as where my next den was. There was a one closer to us that sat in a small city in New Mexico or a larger one in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. I pondered on this decision and decided that Satey should decide for once. I stared at her and said, "I have two more dens that we could go to. One in New Mexico and one in Arkansas. The one in New Mexico is closer, but the one in Arkansas is more hidden and slightly larger. Which one do you want to go to?" I tapped the gas gauge, wondering if we'd even be able to make it to either.
I didn't look up from my work. "My surprise." I say, continuing to work. Using a rubber band I tied my hair back, biting my lip. I needed a small piece of metal, but I didn't have one. "Well..." I mumbled. I jumped as White Protection returned. "Oh..thanks." I said. I put down the tape. "Well...How much gas do we have?" I say, looking back at my project before looking back to you. I bit my lip. If we had the gas, the one in Arkansas would be better. If not, it depended if we could find a solution to the lack of gas. Again, if not, then it would definitely be better in New Mexico than trying to walk or something to Arkansas, but...it being smaller, we might be found again. That was the last thing I wanted.
I stopped messing with the speedometer and saw that there was only so much gas. I crossed my arms and viewed the road behind us. "We only have a half tank. And an SUV can hold at least 20 gallons of gasoline at a time." If only we knew the miles per gallon. Going the lowest, 17 miles per gallon, that's only around 170 miles. That'll barely take us to the safe haven in New Mexico. I turned to Satey and stated, "We're just gonna have to hope we have enough gas to get to New Mexico. Either that, or we have to switch cars when heading for Arkansas." I got inside the car and thought to myself for a few seconds. There was only a matter of time until the president's secret service or F.G.A caught up with us, so we had to keep moving. I started the engine, breathing out and putting the seatbelt on. I gingerly drove of the concrete slab and went down the highway. "We might as well go to Arkansas. But we'll need to keep ourselves alert. Night time is more dangerous when it comes to them finding us. I've had my fair share of nightly encounters. Years and years of them..." I explained roaring down the road and seeing a few tattered-looking buildings.
I nodded, thinking. As we started moving again, I shifted, taking one of the water bottles and took a sip before sealing it, putting it back. I nod. "Let's try for Arkansas. We're bound to run into at least one empty car." I said, looking at my project. I empty the medical kit and carefully put the pieces in it, the medical supplies going in a small baggie that I put in my pocket. I returned to the front passenger seat. "Don't you get hunger sometimes?" I asked curiously, opening one of the chip bags and eating a chip.
Hipo gave off a small chuckle before saying, "I've wondered that myself. In the beginning years of my life, I've always seen people put food into their mouths and chew it. All the time, humans just ate and ate and ate. So I tried it out for myself, but every time I put something in my body, I don't necessarily eat it. My body just dissolves it, and I get no energy from the food. And then I realized, the sun. I'm almost like a plant, except for the necessity of water, and I use the sun as an energy source. That's why I have a difficult time getting up in the morning. I'm deprived from sunlight, thus I feel groggy. If I was in the sun all the time, I'd never have to slow down." I looked down at the road and bit my lip. "But nighttime is when I have to hide. With no way to regain my energy, if I fought for too long, I'd pass out until the sun came up again." I stated, glancing at her as she ate the bag of chips.
We kept on down the road, and I pondered on a few questions for Satey as well. "So, how's your father like? Is he good to you? Do you have any other family members?", I asked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

President Leon slapped one of the soldiers in the face and shouted out, "You are a disgrace!" The entire group cringed when the heard the sound of the hit resounded off of the walls. "You had the best chance in the world, with the F.G.A next to you, and you still screw it up!" Leon exclaimed, banging on his car's hood, leaving a small dent. Some of the group looked to the ground, others look to the president, hiding their shame behind their bandanna masks and shrouded shades.

Leon pointed to the group of scientists coming his way as he tried to fix his hair. "Do you have anything that will lead us to them?" One of the more studious looking men in labcoats pushed his glasses in and said, "We have devices that can detect his presence nearly 100 hundred miles away. There is a heat signature that goes along with this device. He pointed to the metal machine in his hand and it made a slight pinging noise about every second. It was sonar, but only for detecting White Protection. Leon nodded his head and made his way to the car. "You, you're going to accompany me in my vehicle. I need everything you know on this guy. What his weaknesses are, how fast he goes, what he wears on casual fridays, I don't care. Just give me all your info on him. The scientist nodded very quickly and almost squeaked out a "Yes Sir." Some of the soldier snickered, hearing the meow-like sound come out of the man. They continued into their vehicles and drove along, following the escapees right on their tails. "Okay, 'Mr. Hero'. Let's see how long you can keep this up." Leon chuckled under his breath.

I thought about this a little bit. That's kinda cool, but during the night, it was a bit hindering. I glanced over as he asked me a few questions. "Well, there's my mom, but it's just the three of us." I said, smiling faintly, looking at the road ahead as I remembered our nights together, watching TV, playing games, whatever we did the few nights dad was home. "He was really nice..he never made me do anything I felt uncomfortable with, but he didn't spoil me like most people. He taught me a lot too.." I said, leaning back in the chair and setting the half-eaten bag in the back seat, folding the top neatly so it didn't spill. "He wasn't home a lot because he had a lot of work at the office." I shrugged. "But when he was home, he made the most of it. We would watch movies until late, he'd carry me to bed if I fell asleep..we'd play all kinds of games, I'd always beat him on any racing or shooting game." I giggled slightly. "But he got his reputation in the platform or strategy games." I said, looking at you.

I nodded, looking out the window. I jumped slightly as the car jerked. I looked over and nodded, smiling faintly. "Oh, okay." I said, understanding. We began talking and conversing about ourselves..
~
I looked at the sunset, standing, my head tilted slightly. I slipped my project into my other pocket so I wouldn't forget it. "Wow..no.." I said, blinking. It was breathtaking. I looked over to him as the sun set. I got on his back as he said to, resting my chin on his shoulder. "I'm ready." I nodded slightly. I hoped the next car we found had enough gas.

I leaned forward and suddenly burst into a rushing sprint, my eyes almost like whizzing headlights as the trees flew behind me. I grunted at every crack, pebble and crevasse in the paved road but at least it wasn't as terrible as the liquid water. The yellow lined roads were left with skid marks at every turn I made before I looked forward to lead ourselves down the road. I leaped into the air, rushing over a tree that had fallen in the middle of the road and made it barely above the treeline as I rose and fell. The ground wasn't forgiven for the sudden weight when I started the running once more. I grasped onto Satey as we kept on towards the sanctuary, knowing that just one hour from now, they would be safe enough to take a breather.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The line of cars kept on towards the major road, swerving passed vacant vehicles and the rough grass on the sides of the road. It was driving the President mad with all the cars in his way and he beat the steering wheel of his black Sudan a few times in frustration. The main scientist sweated nervously as he stared at the sonar. Leon had finally let off some steam and asked the scientist a little more calmly, "So this... White Protection is some sort of protector of the earth?" He chuckled under his breath as he only heard this kind of background of someone in a comic book. The preoccupied man flicked up his head and stuttered, "I-in fact, he has been t-through a couple wars. Remember Vietnam?" Leon nodded his head and responded, "Who could forget?"
The other scientists stared at each other in the car and whispered something along the lines of, "What is he doing?!" The main man looked back and the glanced at the driver and said, "The loss of the Vietnam War was because of him. That's why we thought we were prepared enough. Originally, the Vietnamese people of that time actually did have less firepower than even half of our army at the time but... White Protection wasn't a variable that the U.S. wasn't expected." Leon stared wide-eyed towards the road, "You mean the 'Vigilante' case that went off the record? He's the one responsible for that.?" The scientists stopped their murmuring for a moment and then one of them said, "Well... you ought to know who caused the war." The president grabbed the collar of the man who spoke out and Leon whispered, "And nobody needs to know that... right?" The scrawny, pale man gulped and stuttered out, "Y-yes... S-... Sir."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I made a roaring attempt to hold out for the hour of running but eventually found the mountains peaked we had been searching for. I stood Satey on her feet when I slowed down and pointed to the dark tunnel ahead of us. It was one of the frequent tunnels that cut into mountains to let cars through. A pair stray headlights saw Satey and I in the middle of the road and honked their horns, screeching to a halt to try and not run over us. I got Satey out of the way very quickly and stood her by the side of the road. "The entrance is in the tunnel there, a stone door that leads to another safe haven.", I stated, pointing at the tunnel. I grasped the hand of Satey and jogged to the edge of the tunnel's wall. "Now all we have to do is search for it," I sighed, rubbing the smooth concrete beside me.

Satey closed her eyes, keeping her head down for the duration of the trip. When she was set down, she was slightly surprised by the sudden stop in momentum, and even more surprised from the headlights. She let out a long breath she didn't know she'd been holding and listened to White Protection. After he explained about the door, she nodded. "Got it. Seems easy enough." she said, stepping ahead of him and staying on the side of the road while she kept her hands on the wall, slowly, silently moving as she searched.
