A scientist, part of the original crew
Leslie is hot-headed and quick to react. This causes many issues with colleagues but has saved lives more than once. He is shy by nature but overcomes this with a combination of bad habits and practice. He bites his fingernails near constantly, almost to the quick. Once a victim of constant anxiety, he still reverts to antisocial behavior when placed in stressful situations. Despite all his shortcomings, Leslie is likeable and playful, and will happily go along with friendly teasing- except if you mock his weight or his name. Leslie can be gullible from time to time- (did you know gullible said slowly sounds like 'automobile'?) but makes up for it in his carefully studied research.
He wears white athletic sneakers, a black, slim-cut longsleeve thermal t-shirt, a thick pair of worker's jeans, and a gray-green parka indoors. For outside, he wears the typical fare- a bright orange ridiculously thick jumpsuit, but combines it with custom made snow goggles.
He carries a medical kit with him wherever he goes, as he is not only a researcher at the facility but the only original scientist at the base to be trained in the medical field.
Leslie comes from a large family, and grew up well loved. His mother doted upon him, despite being born the third child in a family of seven. His father named him after his great grandfather, an explorer of Alaskan territory. He still gets along quite well with two out of four of his brothers, but besides that, his family has disinherited him for reasons he won't disclose to just anyone.
At the age of 16, he was invited to study at MIT, and transferred to Harvard for his last year of college. He graduated at 20, and immediately began work on his master's. At 24, he had earned his doctorate in animal studies. He applied to work at the Betzvich Polar station to study penguin migration, but instead received an offer from the much better situated Princess Elisabeth.
He has had very few romantic endeavors in his life, and his most recent relationship ended in disaster when the scientific community found out, making him hesitant to date again.
