Ferenc Maxim's Story

Jamie looked up at him timidly then looked down again. "W-Would you like to do anything...? You seem to be pre-occupied... I can go home if you want..."
"I`m just thinking about what happened at school." Ferenc said. He couldn`t think of anything to do and he didn`t think that she would want to spend much more time with him today. "Where do you live? I could walk you home if you would like that. He said sounding a little nervous.
Jamie looked up at him surprised, she was a little disappointed they wouldn't get to hang out, it had been so long since she'd hung out with anyone, but she was surprised that he'd offered to walk her home and she quickly shook her head, forcing a smile on her face. "I-It's ok... you don't have to... I'll be fine." She said before turning and hurrying down the street.
Ferenc watched as she hurried away to go to her house. He hoped he didn`t say anything wrong. Hopefully tomorrow would be better, but today wasn`t bad. He glanced around him to make sure no one was looking as he walked into the shadows to go home. He just hoped that no one would come asking about what happened today.
The next day Jamie walked into school and made her way to her home room silently, her head down like usual but she seemed... more anxious than usual.
Ferenc walked out of the classroom and scanned the heads looking for Jamie. He was about to go in the shadows to look for her but thought better of it thinking that people would be looking more closely. He instead went to one of the classrooms that he had shown her to and spotted her right away. "Hey, Jamie" He called trying to get her attention.
Jamie jumped and looked over at him, smiling softly and waving a little. "H-Hi..." She said as she held onto the strap of her backpack tightly.
Ferenc caught up to Jamie. "Hey um.. did your teachers tell you about the assembly in the cafeteria?" he asked.
Jamie looked up at him and nodded softly before looking back down. "Y-Yeah... though he doesn't know what it's about..."
"My teacher didn`t say much either, but I think that it was about the fight yesterday." Ferenc leaned against the locker. " I hope that they don`t question me too much." He looked at his watch." Time to go. I`ll see you there after two class periods." Ferenc hurried toward his class .
