Alice was asleep, Alice was asleep and it was taking a long, long time now for anything to be made of it. Why was Alice still asleep? "It's safe now, Ophie saved you, so wake up and come out, come back." The spider implored, feeling the anxiety and the spiraling starting to cycle up in her head. But they were safe, they had to be safe because the web coccoon that blocked off the rest of the world, each strand spiked with the paralytic agent, just in case someone tried to cut through it thinking they were oh so clever, cleverer than these warmachine monsters. "You can stop hiding in sleepland now, Alice." Ophie stabbed into her arm, bright red blood flowed from the wound and she waved it enticingly at the bat who didn't respond at all.

This was disturbing in many ways. Ophie was confused - the web cocoon was protecting her, so why was Alice still scared? "No one can hurt Alice now." The spider muttered under her breath, feeling more and more hopeless as time marched on. She dripped some blood into Alice's mouth, because before she said the blood helped her or something, so the spider was always happy, but nothing, nothing at all, and now panic was starting to settle in. What, exactly, did the humans to do her? This shield would protect them from anything on the outside, but the humans had already put something inside, hadn't they?

Some was dreadfully wrong here. It was poison, it had to be poison. So the spider made her way back to the wall of webs, poking her head through, since she was immune to her own poison, obviously. "What did you humans do?" She hissed, full of hatred and disgust for these beings that always tried to act like God. "Why did you poison Alice, she still isn't waking!" A nurse said something about it just being a sleep agent and that she would be fine but Ophie wasn't listening, she refused to listen. "Stop lying! Shit-eating liars!" The spider hissed shrilly. "Wake her up now before I kill you all!"

Ophie needed Alice, she couldn't function without her, so if the humans took her away, Ophie would throw away any sense of self preservation and do whatever it took, even if it meant endangering herself, to take Alice back. Nothing else mattered anymore.

"You can drop your guises, we're all the same here." He said.

One nurse reverted back to her natural form, where she had creamy caramel skin, brightened into a shimmery teal hue, her dark hair curled and bleached, honey colored eyes bled into a Robin egg's blue. Another nurse changed instantly, her cropped hair flowing down her spine, from red to an ombre splash of purple and silver, skin darkening and revealing tangles of vine-like green ink, her eyes widened and pupils slit as those of a feline. "About time," She drawled, "Sick of their confusion."

"I still doubt any of this will help, Teacher."

The doctor lay Ravus on an extra bed another nurse had wheeled in, might as well kept them as a unit. He focused on Little Spider, "As I said prior to your outburst, you're all in need of rest. Alice will sleep as long as required, you might as well, I can sense your heightened distress and anxiety." He sighed, "I will help you, but only if you help yourself."

Alice wasn't sure when she awoke. Coming out of one dream where she was bound that led to a reality where she was bound definitely contributed to this. The bat tugged weakly at the straps, wondering if she was truly awake. Her mouth tasted of blood, there was most definitely a crimson trail left on her cheek. There were two other beds in the room, but Alice was tied down in such a way that she couldn't lift up her head to see who. It certainly smelled like Ravus and Ophie, but what if that was to lure her into a false sense of calm? The webbing had been carefully removed with a metal rod so that no one was poisoned. Alice was once more sedated, the IV at the bottom of her foot so that there was no risk of her pulling it out with her teeth like the first two attempts. Her head spun with the intensity of an orbiting comet and she felt strangely warm, perhaps an effect of the medicine. Someone had dressed her in one of those awful white gowns, the cloth starchy and itchy on her skin.

"Let... go," Alice croaked and tried to sit up. Her head was spinning, perhaps she was delusional but she thought she saw a deer exiting the room through the door? Her stomach growled in a fierce pang of hunger. Blood, she wanted blood. The taste was still left over on her tongue but Alice desired more. Ophie looked as though she was asleep, Alice couldn't ask her and Ravus, well Alice wasn't sure if that was him or not. Sure, it smelled like Ravus but anyone could murder someone and wear their skin. Or maybe Alice was the only one that had done that.... In her defense it was only once and it was to throw off police dogs. They had all done terrible things out there, humans were the ones that had made them do it. Alice almost wanted to laugh. Humans were the suckers that had created them, now they thought they could control the little monsters they had so desperately perfected for destruction.

There was no containing a monster, just the same way that you couldn't contain a natural disaster. They had crossed an illegal line when they had bred humans with animals and the expense was the downfall of their kind. Now they thought they could reform these terrible beasts and Alice wasn't going to take it. Sure, she liked being able to read and write, but now that she had those skills there was so much more opportunity for destruction. Let her into a city and she'd show them who were the true rulers. Her laugh was dry, more of a croak that ended in a cough really. "Thirsty," Alice mumbled, feeling sleepy once more. Her pink orbs closed to the world around her and she plunged back into the world of darkness without so much a fight.

While Ophie was very vigilant in keeping up her shield, she eventually passed out from exhaustion since it used up her energy. And of course that was when the disgusting humans struck, easily strapping her down, no matter how had the spider tried to fight. These humans that pretended they were doing the right thing but they were only horrible disgusting villains, and Ophie decided to engrave it in her soul to always always hate humans, no matter what. Maybe she would have given them a chance if they hadn't tricked them into coming here, into becoming captives, tying Alice up so that she couldn't move and be free and beautiful as she wished - Ophie should have just killed Wild back at the facility when she had the chance. She should have torn out his intestines and eaten them before his eyes. Now she was restrained and helpless to whatever horrible things the humans had planned.

Mentally, the spider truly was the most fragile of the three, and upon waking up to realize she couldn't move, her limbs were trussed down too tightly, and when she saw the needle and the tube going into Alice, precious beloved Alice, pure Alice that deserved better than to have disgusting human chemicals going into her, the spider knew it. She failed, she failed Alice, she promised to protect and she couldn't, she was just a weak thing that wasn't good enough for anything. The spider was spiraling into self hatred and despair because of her powerlessness when she promised time and time again to protect the bat she so loved. Was it so bad to just want to protect her?

How long has it been since Alice's voice was there to drive away the monsters in Ophie's head? Too long, far too long, and then her increasing panic and self loathing only served to worsen the monsters. "Too weak... can't protect... Alice... from humans..." Her words were slurred and it was like a mantra of madness now. If the humans thought they were trying to help rehabilitate her, they were only making her condition worse. "If I can't protect Alice... why does Ophie exist? If I'm useless.... why am I alive?" Once again they were in captivity and there was nothing, nothing she could do about it.

So Ophie did the only thing she could. She failed her prime directive, she no longer deserved to live. So she bit down on her tongue, the blood spurting out, the chunk of tongue flesh spat out, and then she felt dizzier and fainter than before. Ophie was a useless spider, couldn't protect the bat, why did she think she deserved to live anyways? This is the punishment for weakness in a dog-eat-dog world. "I aw oo A-iss." She said, trying to say she loved Alice but it was impossible with half a tongue and a mouth full of blood.

Ravus gasped and struggled out of his latest restraintsβ€”a tangled sheet that managed to weave around him. He sat up and moved off a bed he'd been dumped on, something tugged at his arm. He glanced up at movement.

Rabbit.

"I wouldn't do that, you're still two seconds from keeling over."

"You wouldn't want to be me." He ripped off the lines and glanced at his left, a curtain. Behind it were those two. Spider girl had some plastic thing keeping her mouth open. She was out like her friend.

"Bit her tongue." Rabbit said, "Not the first or the last to do it."

"Where's bone head?" Ravus let the curtain go and pushed off the bed, the room swam a little. But he wasn't about to let them catch him ever again.

"Teacher is what we call him, and believe it or not, he is helping us." The rabbit girl was trying and failing at blocking the door. She watched with narrowed little eyes.

"Says the freak playing guard duty, what did he bribe you or brain wash you?"

"Neither, I'm here by choice."

"Even worse." He tested one foot, then another and waited till the room stilled before he made to go.

"You'll get lost out there. Trust me."

"I'll take my chances, trust isn't in my repertoire."

"I get that you're scared and probably antsy, but running isn't gonna fix your problems." She was suddenly closer than he realized and leading him back into the bed. He slapped her hands away, tried to stand on his own but everything kept spinning.

"Don't touch me."

Then she moved back and another visitor graced them with his presence. The guy took her by the arm and pulled her back.

"What did he do to me?" Ravus gripped at his head, "Tell him to stop fucking with me, or I'll kill him myseβ€”" More pain rioted his skull and he was pretty sure his brain would liquefy. He shut his eyes, all he wanted was to be left alone. He'd make it out on his own no problem. He broke out of the underground, he made it topside. He was a survivor. He could handle anything. And nothing and no one was gonna take that from him.

Alice swiped feebly at the nurse standing over her. "Water," she croaked, her throat so dry it felt as though she had been walking through the desert for a week. "Sit up now, slowly," Alice propped herself up on her arms, closing one eye to the harsh chemical fueled lights above her. The water was tipped against her lips and Alice swallowed it down greedily, feeling much better. She lay back against the mattress, full well knowing that if she tried to resist now she would only make matters worse with how weak she was at the moment. Alice grinned, she would pay these monsters back in full for trying to restrain her. "Release me... and I won't kill you and everything you hold dear." The nurse gave her a peculiar look, Alice was distinctly aware of someone watching her.

He stood in the corner, arms crossed, eyes locking with her's. Alice grinned maliciously, using a wobbly hand to make a threat by drawing a line across her throat. "Where's... Ophie?" Alice asked, noticing that the room was empty. "Asleep," the nurse replied casually as though speaking about the time of day. Alice leaped up from the bed, grabbing the nurse by the front. "Wake her up!" Alice howled, shaking the woman. The tube began to inject an angry red colored liquid, making Alice release the nurse and slide to the floor, her limbs numb. "What... did... you... do?" The nurse brushed herself off and lifted Alice off of the floor. "It's a paralytic designed to restrict limb movement whenever your vitals became agitated at a rapid rate." Alice had learned to control this things, but Ophie was all Alice had left and she didn't want to lose her.

"What are you bastards doing to her?" Alice growled, no longer feeling breathless. "Let her rest, she's just had a procedure," the nurse smiled cryptically. They had simply been working on fixing Ophie's tongue, the part that she had bit off, but Alice was not having any of it. "Let her go!" Alice growled, trying to thrash, but her limbs wouldn't move. That's fine, Alice could do something else. She made a strange sound in the back of her throat, one that almost seemed like she was choking. Te nurse came closer to investigate and Alice spat in her face. She grinned, watching as the nurse ran from the room screaming. So she could handle blood, but a little spit would hurt? Over dramatic maybe, bodily fluids had never bothered Alice, especially blood.

Oh how she longed to crack open a human skull to watch the blood drip and bleed! But no, she was being kept here, nice and paralyzed. Alice would show them, she didn't need her limbs to fight as long as she still had her mouth.

Ophie wasn't really sure what to do with this. The surgery was over and she was taken to a bed for some weird white suit guy to try and make her talk, and so she decided that no, she wasn't going to talk, she just wanted to be with Alice and to be free. Reacting violently wasn't going to work anymore, they needed to do this carefully because the enemies had too many strange chemicals and plans to be easy to deal with. "We need to see if the surgery succeeded, so can you open your mouth so we can examine the area?" Okay, maybe it was also accurate to say that the spider was almost completely out of it, a line of hydromorphone going into her system because otherwise the pain of having her tongue all sutured up would be too much for anyone to realistically handle.

The spider shook her head insistently, making the shape of a bat out of her webs to show her intent. She wanted to be with Alice, what was so hard about this for them to understand? If they really wanted to help, then these people would let the girls be together at least! The white coat sighed then and handed something to her. It was big and fluffy and looked very cuddly, a stuffed animal that Ophie couldn't figure if it was a camel or a goat. Ophie glared at it suspiciously, what exactly was this supposed to accomplish? "It's a friend, her name is Bella." The white coat said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Alice can share Bella too, she just wants to make your stay here easier." Maybe the spider was high as a kite but did she hear that right, was she allowed to stay with Alice? She was too high to realize the shock collar around her neck, however.

And just maybe Ophie could hear Bella telling her that it was safe and okay too, and also Bella kept changing animals and it was confusing but Ophie eventually cooperated... but only a little bit. At some point she faded out of consciousness and when she returned to her mind she was curled up blankly in a spinny wheely chair being taken to another room. "As an experiment, your tongue will heal faster than normal, but you should still rest your tongue and-" she wasn't listening anymore, just pulling at the line sticking in her because she wasn't allowed to swallow or eat or drink anything for the time being. Her other hand was holding Bella's tail appendage.

"I'm letting you two be together on good faith." The doctor said in a very warning tone. "And Alice, we gave her pain medication because her tongue would be unbearable otherwise." The spider stared numbly in front of her and then threw Bella at Alice and lulled her head to the side. The doctor was explaining to Alice the line in Ophie's arm, the bag of nutrients because she couldn't eat, he was explaining it to Alice so she wouldn't misunderstand but the spider wasn't listening, she was staring at above Alice because she thought she saw a turtle walking on her head. But then Ophie's eyes drifted shut and she curled herself up, ignoring the plastic feel in her mouth.

--------------

It was through a very thick foggy feeling in the head when the spider's eyes opened up again. She looked around and saw Alice and smiled dizzily at her, she tried to open her mouth to say something but nothing came out, her voice was muffled up by the plastic thing. She then tugged at the plastic thing, eyes screwing up in annoyance, trying to figure out what it was and why it was there. The spider then saw the line going into her arm and pulled at that next, then she felt a jolt and heard a warning sound telling her to stop playing with her IV line. The spider put her hands at her neck, around the collar and then decided it wasn't interesting anymore so she aimed her eyes back at Alice, wondering what was going on.

The look on the nurse was priceless. Ravus would've laughed if he'd been in the mood for it. She took off as if a fire had broke out. Yelled some code word and didn't return. Another nurse came in and disappeared behind the curtain, he peeked in. They're all the same aren't they? Doing their damndest to make sure their prized experents didn't damage themselves.

The nurse lifted the girl from the floor and returned her to the bed. Covered her with white blankets and checked that her IV lines hadn't torn. "It's alright. Ophie is here, stop panicking." The nurse said, it sounded that way.

At the door, Rabbit appeared. She was still watching with glassy ruby eyes. Her expression this time, blank. "I get it." She said.

Ravus pushed off the bed and made for the door but the little brat stood in his way. She met him with fierce eyes. "You haven't been evaluated yet. You can't leave the ward until Teacher grants it."

He pushed her back, but she gripped his wrists and didn't budge.

"I'm not going through this shit again, move or I'll kill you."

"I'll inject you again, Ravus." The nurse said, and she was closing in on him. "We're giving you the choice to cooperate, it depends on you."

"Get back." He shoved Rabbit, but his movements were sluggish.

The nurse touched his shoulder and every nerve in him fizzled. She stirred him back into the bed. "Rest, you can't keep this up." She sounded like she cared and that was funny. Because they never care.

Alice was lifted off of the ground by the strange woman, tucked back into bed by the new nurse who she had not spat on. Ravus grinned, Alice returned it with one of her own. The curtain was pushed, revealing Ophie asleep in a bed of her own. The nurse wheeled her over and placed both girls in the same bed, since the two of them were relatively small and could fit easily onto one stretcher. Alice seemed to settle down once Ophie was in bed with her, despite the fact that Ravus would not. He even got up to try and get out, that rabbit girl blocking his path.

"They're stronger for now," Alice said loudly, "but we'll find a way out, we always will." It was a little nudge to Ravus, if he wanted to get out on his own that was just fine by the two of them, Alice would get them out separately. The man in the corner finally moved, Alice didn't recognize him, or the rabbit with the jewel colored eyes. "If you think you can get out," he started, moving in between beds since all three of them were now on the same side of the curtain. "You can't." He glared at all of them and Alice returned the look with a glare of her own. "So give up now, we can do this one of two ways. You can either choose the willing route, where we won't drug the shit out of you," he held one hand out on one side, then put the other out on the other side.

"Or we can drug the shit out of you to make you more cooperative." Alice glared, "We won't take either," she growled. If she could move, she would jumped to strangle him. "I see we have one taker for the drug route, might wanna get that bad habit checked out, looks like it's already started to effect your brain."

"I'm going to rip your throat out once I can move again," Alice smiled. "I bet your blood tastes great."

It was official. Nothing, absolutely nothing here was making sense at all. The spider was looking around the room but everything she saw just swirled and wriggled and she let out a soft giggle but the chunk of plasticine in her mouth prevented her from making any sound or really moving her tongue at all. She tried to pull at it, but it was really lodged in there tight! The spider tried harder because she wanted to talk and then she glanced tearily at Alice, not understanding. The tears quickly turned into a different emotion as she saw not one Alice, but three Alices. One Alice was talking loudly about something too blurry and faded away to hear, but the other two were dancing around in circles about the room. Ophie rubbed at her eyes and wondered if there were three Ophies, one to make each Alice happy.

The other guy was here too, he was also talking to what looked like a large muffin with fluffy ears. Ophie patted her head, if she had fluffy ears, would Alice pay attention to her? The spider decided she wanted to be spoiled and coddled by Alice so she made her eyes as wide as they would go and gave her her best doe-eyed look which looked very derpy if you considered the plastic mouth guard and the way her pupils were dilated due to the pain medication. She put her hand forward then, trying to touch Alice but then stopped.

Something was very wrong here, something absolutely awful.

When, just when did the humans give Ophie ten fingers on her hand? She waved it around and shook it and yes, her eyes were telling the truth! She had ten fingers, what even was happening? Ophie panicked, yanking on some of them, she couldn't make sense out of anything that was happening! Alice and Ravus, neither of them were happy and Ophie wasn't happy either, she wanted a normal hand! Oh, but she knew how to make someone happy! Ophie prepared a nail and then slid it down her - wait, she slid it, she sliced and - no, why was it just sliding off her hand? Why couldn't she get at it with the right angle? So she kept on trying with more ferver each time and after an hour she finally did it, a tiny trickle of blood. The spider did her best grin and offered it to Alice with innocent happiness. She wanted attention, and Alice was right here!

Had he not known her, he would have thought she dropped her marbles. This new guy, whoever he was just rolled his eyes like he was used to hearing this kinda shit on a daily basis. He wasn't chained, no one was following him and he looked incredibly chill. Great, another Rabbit, here by choice.

What the hell is this place anyway? Why are there so many volunteers? And why are they just popping in whenever they felt like it?

"Let me guess, Bonehead sent you as back up?" Ravus sat on the edge of the stretcher. Too exhausted to fight, too wound up to sleep. Ophie kept making strange noises and catching at invisible things only she could see.

Alice's message rang clear.

But he wasn't sure if he even wanted to tag along with the two. Having done that's what made him end up wherever they were now. He just wanted to hitch a ride on a boat off this bloody island. Now, he just had to find a way to leave the room. If he couldn't barrel outta here, he'd need a new approach, maybe, he could get Rabbit on his side. If he played his cards right, she might even help him out.

"What did you do to Ophie?" Alice growled, Ophie was babbling senselessly and waving her hands in the air like a maniac. What was with that strange muzzle? "Let Ophie go! Take that weird thing out!" Ophie was bleeding and it was torturous because Alice couldn't reach it. "Not now Ophie," Alice whispered a bit sadly. Alice could do something though. She nudged her head slightly to the side, biting through the wire that was connected to Ophie. She grinned victoriously, the liquid from the tubing leaking onto the bed. Maybe this would set her friend straight?

"Fight it Ophie, fight!" Alice urged, licking her lips at the sight of blood. The machine started to beep, making an unpleasant sound that grated her ears. The nurse frowned at the sight, "oh my," at least tubing was easy to replace. She stopped the administration of the medicine and moved Ophie over. "No! Bring her back here!" Alice yelled, clearly agitated. "Or better yet, let us go! We didn't do anything to you damn humans so leave us alone!" Alice tried to arch her back, but her limbs refused to listen. Ravus was at least sitting up, if he could get out of here then Alice would be satisfied for the time being. She would get herself and Ophie out of here eventually and maybe once Ophie woke up she would be back to her normal maniacal self.

Instead of that wimpy little thing she had been ever since they escaped those people. Lately, Ophie had been acting as though she were dependent on Alice to live and was being awfully clingy, she didn't even let Alice not wear clothes! Even now, Alice was dressed in a strange white garb that covered her from shoulders to ankles. It was an awfully long dress with a white zipper down the middle and an access pocket around the chest area, probably so that they could stab her in the heart.

Why did Alice not want blood? What happened to their special sacred ritual? Ophie decided Alice was probably not hungry and then she sucked her own blood. It tasted okay and nice but it was probably better for Alice. At least this way it would go back inside of her, that was the way it worked, right? Then suddenly Alice bit something but it wasn't her. The spider tilted her head in confusion, looking at the tube in her. Did Alice not like it? To be fair, the spider didn't quite like it either. She wondered how to ask Alice if it tasted yummy but no sound was working and her tongue was trapped by the plastic in her mouth so she couldn't vocalize anything other than baby sounds. "Uwaa? Aah? Wah!" The spider said with good cheer.

Well, at least until the monster arrived, and the beeping was loud and it hurt and Ophie flinched and huddled and put her hands to her ears, trying to make the sound stop. "Aoou." She gurgled like a child, trying to make it stop, and then the monster took hold of her. It looked like a vague black shape and it was touching her, grabbing her and Ophie let out a panicked scream trying to fight it off, but it was too late, the monster put her back in the wheely chair and Ophie clawed and scratched but it wasn't working. "Ah! Eah!" She tried to fight the monster but then she was put in a different room, where the tubing was replaced and more of the liquid gently flowed in.

Maybe that was why her head was so fuzzy, maybe that was why it was so dizzy. When was the last time Ophie got to kill anything? When the spider was returned to the room and placed back on the bed - this time the tubing was made bite-proof - she clawed at the monster again, not realizing that the humans had filed her nails down to the point of being hopelessly dull, this happened during the surgery. "Uwah! Iiw!" She hissed, trying to say 'Want kill!' It had no effect of course and then Ophie went back to float inside her own mind, feeling more confused than anything.

Ravus reted his chin in his palm and watched the proceedings. Bat girl was panicking, and Spider girl was trying to speak but didn't get more than sounds of words out. Her fault for snapping at her own tongue.

There were no windows, no clocks anywhere, no way of knowing if it was day or night or somewhere between. He kept tapping the floor with his foot, he'd lost his boots and all his original clothes. He'd have to find where they hide it. Those were just some things he refused to part with.

As he watched the nurses rush about. Rabbit kept throwing glances and exchanging whispers with her friend. What the hell were they still doing here? Why hasn't Bonehead shown up yet? How long were they gonna be kept here on watch?

When the nurse finally left and Ophie's punctured lines replaced he said, "Do you think maybe they don't wanna kill us?"

"No, I don't think they want to kill us." Alice was regaining movement in her limbs. She was not happy that they took Ophie away, but when was Alice ever happy? She hadn't killed in who knows how long, she couldn't feel her toes, and she just wanted some blood! There was a tingling in her toes, it was all coming back now. Alice acted as though she was still numb of course, she would use this to her advantage. "But I want to kill them," Alice mumbled the last part. If Ravus could leave, then go! What was he waiting for? Was he weak from that syringe?

It was hard not to move, Alice wanted to sit up and stretch, she wanted to go bite that stupid rabbit in the neck and take a swig of her blood. Oh how delicious it would be! Sure, Ophie's blood was great, but Alice liked a little variation in her diet and she had never drank a rabbit's blood before. Humans, coyotes, spiders, eel, but never a rabbit. Alice's mouth was watering just thinking about it. The bat licked her lips hungrily, her stomach was making funny noises that Alice wasn't too keen on. Ophie had been returned, she was now laying in bed beside Alice and making strange sounds. "What did you do to her! Stop hurting Ophie!" Alice growled, working hard not to move.

"It's just some pain medicine, don't worry." Alice had, had pain medicine before and her pain medicine never made her this funny, or at least, not that Alice could tell. "Fix her!" Alice demanded, wanting to end this nurses's putrid life. Humans did not deserve to touch them, not after all they had done to hurt them. "Don't worry Ophie, Alice will protect you." Alice nudged her head against Ophie's hoping that it would somehow comfort her friend in a way that no one else could.

Ophie was dragging her claws on the walls of the room but it wasn't making that usual shing noise she liked. Without the shing she was a little sad, and she didn't understand. "Aww? Aar?" She was trying to ask if her claws were sharp but she wasn't really able to make distinguishable sounds thanks to the plastic chunk stuck in her mouth. It was to protect her tongue but there was no way for the spider to understand that fact. It was sad, it was frustrating, and the spider very much missed the shing of her claws. She glanced at the other guy and wondered why he was here or whatnot.

So Ophie decided to just ignore her claws for now and do something else. It was inspired by Alice putting her head against hers. Ophie wanted to do stuff too! So with very clumsy, uncoordinated movements, the spider crawled up off of her back and then jumped on the bed. The springs of the bed coiled and let her hop again, higher this time! This was fun, she was bouncing, she was going up and down and it was so very fun until the monster came back, looking dark and scary and foggy with static. "Oh awa!" The mermaid cried at it as she more or less forced her onto the bed and told her to stop jumping on it.

That was when Ophie realized Alice couldn't move! The spider was shocked and surprised and then wondered what was going on. And then she found a way to fix it! So the spider attached strings and webs to her favorite bat's limbs and then started moving them on her own, making Alice pat her own mounds because Ophie felt good when she did it and she wanted Alice to feel good too.

He'd gladly leave if he could, walk right out the doors. But right now, all he could manage was sitting there, watching them and trying not to throw up from the inhibitors still kicking in his pipes. At least these two were entertainment enough to take his mind off possibly escaping. It was always either planning escapes or planning who to kill next if it got him any closer to escapingβ€”that while being tortured by whitecoats and up to this point, now that he was out the plans were updated somewhat. He just had to figure out how to get Rabbit to help. If that was even a possibility.

"Ravus, feeling better?" Rabbit watched him and didn't sound at all like she was asking what she was asking.

"You're lucky I can't stand, or I'd make you disappear. Permanently."

She rolled her eyes, "Guess being drugged-up is how you wanna spend the rest of your time here."

Ravus hauled a pillow at her. But it was caught by a large figure that appeared at the door. It was himβ€”finally.

"That kind of behavior isn't advised here, Ravus." Bonehead wasn't a scary monster, he was human again. Hard to believe he was the same dude. He walked in and sent fish-sticks away who was trying to calm Spider girl.

"No change, Teacher." Rabbit said from the door and ducked away before Ravus could find something else to throw at her. He swear he'd squash her like a bug. Next time.

"Ravus if you want toβ€”"

"Get the hell outta here, yeah. When can I catch the next boat off this hellhole?"

The kind look in the guy's face stiffened, "Impossible at this time, you're not ready." He gazed at the other girls, "None of you are."

"You can't tell me what I can and can't do."

"On the contrary, I can as your guardian."

"Never asked you to be my guardian, bonehead. I want outta here."

"And you will, as all others have before you. If you want to take that path, I won't stop youβ€”once you're aware that is. Only then."

Aware?

Ravus kicked the leg of the bed and rubbed at his temple, this wasn't gonna get him anywhere except Bonehead's suspicion.

The man glanced at the two girls, "The same thing applies to you both. If freedom is what you want. You have to cooperate."

Slaine had felt pain before, he was born with it, molded by it, he had never seen a day without pain until he had escaped from that dreadful facility. That was why this pain was different, it was the type of pain that should have spelled death, but instead, well, he was still alive and still had a beating heart. Why? Slaine was most certain that he was dead, he closed his bad eye as he dragged himself out from underneath the wreckage. "Kachi? Lilim?" Slaine croaked, his throat feeling raw. "Shun?" Slaine pressed the heel of his hand into his good eye, falling back to his knees. The cold had made him numb, his fingertips were purple. He used his bio electricity to warm himself up, or at least, he tried to. "Kachi Shun! Lilim!" Slaine tried once again and this time doubled over, coughing up blood. There came a crunch from behind him, someone else had risen from the ashes.

Slaine placed his hands underneath his armpits. When the body was freezing, you placed your hands underneath your armpits because your body was protecting your vital organs, therefore, that was the warmest part of your body. "H-hello?" His breath fogged up the space in front of him, Slaine's left leg was terribly burnt, wounds with pus leaking out of them, it was clear that his leg was infected. Slaine grit his teeth and walked a few feet forward, barefooted in the snow. There were two people in the distance, if Slaine could kill them and take their stuff then he would be able to stay and search for Lilim and Kachi.

"Don't struggle and I'll make your death quick and pai-" Slaine was almost instantly kneed between the legs. He grunted, but the pain was no worse than anywhere else in his body. He lashed out, his movements slow and awkward, his nose was red, gaining that purplish tint. Soon it would be black. "Don't move child and this will be quick and painless," Slaine was hit over the head with what looked like a bottle. It shattered upon impact and he collapsed in the snow, blood trickling out of spot and freezing to his scalp. His body was collected and tied down, Slaine was being taken away from the wreckage. He awoke a few times during the journey to wherever, shivering and weak from blood loss. The interior of the car was warm, so warm and the blanket covering him even more so. He would find Lilim and Kachi, Slaine swore it.

They stuck him full of needles, they cleaned his wounds and dressed him in white. Slaine awoke tied down to a bed, feeling ravenous and violent. "Let me go!" He reeled, a relentless struggle. No one would come talk to him, the only people that visited were a man they called Teacher and a nurse who continued to drug him even though he had threatened to take her head off if she tried one more time. Slaine was not having a good time, but his leg was healing and he was given a new eye patch for his bad eye.
