It was the morning of a brand new day, and Keni was more than excited. Today, her new copy of SBURB was to come in the mail. She was curled up against her fluffy St. Bernard, Bella.

"This is gonna be so exciting!" She giggled, tugging lightly on the collar of her shirt. The shirt itself was white with a rather odd colored version of the Triple Goddess symbol. Bella grunted indifferently, her tail wagging as her mistress talked. Maybe it meant that food was coming soon? Who knows.

"Hey squirt," Keni looked up, only to meet the gaze of one of her older brothers. Specifically her oldest brother, Cameron. "You've got a package in the mail." Smiling, he stepped into her room and handed the brown wrapped package to her before grinning sternly. "So, what is it?"

"A game." She answered rather quickly, standing and brushing off her pleated skirt. "For teens and stuff."

"Alright." He gave her a cautious look before turning on his heel to leave. "You just be careful alright?"

"Fine." She groaned playfully, making her way over to her computer chair. She was quick to open the package, and stared in marvel at the cover. Grinning, she quickly logged into her Pesterchum and began to search for any of her friends online.

smilingUrsurper [SU] has now logged in.

As the sound of the logging in alert danced in the room, she reached over and turned on her radio. It was then that a small dinging caught her attention. It was the reminder she had set for herself.

SU: Girl, you need to reset your colors. *pokes*

THE PAIN faded. Zuriik collapsed for the hundredth time onto his hands and knees, panting with over exertion. He stood shakily, registering the figure that stood in his “doorway”. Zuriik hobbled over to his picture wall. He bit his finger hard, hard enough to draw blood. This PAIN had been particularly painful, and the visions particularly potent. With his bloody finger, Zuriik made a mark, an X this time, under the picture of the cat-troll. Still recovering, Zuriik turned to the troll in his doorway. He was wearing a shirt with an alien face on it. His horns ended in donut shapes and he wore a large, nearly cartoonish pair of glasses.
“alienationSanctified, I presume?” Zuriik manage to inquire.
“Yeah. My real name’s Freddy Grason.”
“Zuriik Taroql. Real fucking pleasure.”
“Funny isn’t it? How we’ve known each other like, 2 years and we just now learn each other’s names.”
Zuriik grunted in reply.
“Anyway, here’s the copy of Sgrub I promised you.”
Freddy placed the disk gently onto Zuriik’s workbench. Zuriik sat down on his mat, his back to Freddy.
“Can I ask you a couple questions?”
“Sure, shoot.”
“What’s with this wall and the paintings?”
“Remember when I told you about THE PAIN?”
“Yeah, that thing you just got, where you get like, prophetic visions and shit at the cost of incredible suffering?”
"That wall is to keep track of those two people. Each green mark is when I've seen them in a vision."
"What about the red mark and the black mark?"
"Red is non-vision sightings, black is sightings of death."
"You've run into this green guy? Yikes."
"Sort of. I've seen him in a dream once. Killed me in it."
"What about this chick? You dreamed of her too?"
"Are there any red marks?"
"No."
"Yeah, no. Wish it was yes though."
“You’ve got a crush on her or something?”
“You could say that."
"Sucks that she died."
"Yeah, I guess so. It's not going to actually happen though. I won't let it happen."
"Well...I've got to go."
"Wait a sec. If dementedManiac contacts you, do not let him into our Sgrub session. Don't you fucking dare."
"Why do you hate him so much?"
"I don't hate him. I just...he reminds me too much of myself."
"What's the problem with that?"
"It's not a good thing. He's murderous, psychotic and dangerous. Just like me."
“I won’t make any promises. It might be good for you two to hang out a little. Improve your relationship and such. I’ve really got to go, see you round.”
Freddy left before Zuriik could get another word in. He sighed and grabbed the disk from his workshop.

Zuriik was in the middle of installing Sgrub when he received a chat on his PDA goggles. He retrieved them from where they hung and put them on.

WA began deploying the machines necessary for Danavel to enter the session, but before Danavel could enter the Medium. Danavel had to be sure that he deployed the items for AS to enter the medium or AS may be left behind on Alternia and die due to The Reckoning.

Danavel began deploying the items necessary for AS's entry into the medium, but he was a bit angered that WA decided to put his machines in hard to reach places. He had no idea why WA just didn't put them next to one another, but he was going to be sure to make it easy on AS and put the machines in easy to reach places. He began deploying the machines necessary. He decided to begin trolling AS to tell him that he would be deploying his machines now.

Callus was wearing no shirt or jacket due to him being on an island and not really needing to be clothed, but he had the decency to wear pants and things like that. His copy of Sburb was supposed to be mailed to him today, but it would probably land somewhere stupid on his island. He decided to pester one of his friends that he met on the internet.

He just finished pestering one of his friends and he hoped to get a quick response, but they might be busy doing other stuff. He decided he would carry his pda around with him, in case he got a response from SU. He was going outside to check if it did for some stupid reason land on the top of the volcano, so he grabbed his climbing equipment and got ready to climb up there. When he went into the living room he saw his dad there, as spiffy and eccentric as ever. Of course he was dead, but Callus would never accept that. He said a quick bye to his father and told his dad that he would be going outside and onto the mountain. He remembered the dream he had earlier about a monster with horns and purple blood, it was nerve-wrecking and he got rid of all of the clocks in his house that ticked. Whenever he dreamed about that monster he always heard distant ticking in the background of his dreams, but this dream was different. He grabbed a shirt and jacket, then he put them on and walked out of the door leading outside. There was a slight breeze, but other than that it was good day to be outside. There was normal creatures and some strange creatures outside, but he didn't think that they were any different from the creatures on the rest of the world. He began running towards the mountain and tripped over a couple of roots. Once he got to the mountain he began scaling it, but he was pretty slow at doing it. Even with his developed body from having to survive on his own on a private island. He hoped that he didn't get a response, until he got to the top of the mountain.

Zuriik fell asleep at his computer midway through placing an Alchemiter, the object falling through the roof of WA’s house as he dropped it. Suddenly sleeping in the middle of doing things was nothing new, it happened almost every day. However, instead of drifting into his tormented unconsciousness as per usual, Zuriik instead found himself looking at a nearly unfamiliar sight. It took him a moment to fully register what he was staring at. A Prospitian sky, with Skaia in full orbit. It had been almost 3 and a half years since Zuriik had seen that sky. 3 and a half years since he had run into the green demon. 3 and a half years of dead, adventureless dreams. Zuriik sat up. He was on a bed, on the roof of a Prospitian building, one of his two dream homes. For whatever bullshit reason, he had somehow survived his encounter with the creature of nightmares three years ago and was now sitting idly in a comfy bed on top of some Prospitian’s house. Neat. Zuriik rose from his bed, still not trusting his “senses”. It certainly felt like a dream, his focus was pulled and pushed around, falling onto whatever object caught his attention for a split second. Zuriik moved to his mirror, examining his reflection. He was wearing the same stupid dream outfit, yellow shirt with purple pants, and his Prospitian scythe, Morpheus. Zuriik looked around from his perch on the roof. Yes, still the same old Prospit. Still, this was only one of two planets...
Zuriik dove off the edge. On the way down, he reminded himself that it was just a dream. His descent was halted quite suddenly as the laws of physics took a unanimous lunch break. Zuriik ascended, flying through the atmosphere of Prospit. As he moved farther away from the planet, his shirt and pants shifted into grey and his scythe faded into nothing. Zuriik picked up speed as he moved toward the Veil, away from the center of the Incipisphere. Although he didn't actually know the names of any of these things. Zuriik slowed himself down once he approached Derse, eventually landing on the planet. His grey outfit changed into a purple shirt with yellow pants and Hypno, his Dersian scythe, formed on his back. As he did a once-over of Derse, Zuriik noticed nothing out of the ordinary there either. He landed in a courtyard, looking for something to do. By now, Zuriik’s unattention had gotten the better of his curiosity. A commotion, nearby screamings of “thief!”, would suffice for the moment. He ran over to the Dersian, who was pointing and shouting at a fast retreating shape, no doubt the aforementioned ne’er-do-well. Zuriik rose into the air and “zoom”ed toward the criminal. Justice would be served. He quickly overtook his target, moving above and past, landing somewhat in front of him, her or it. Zuriik drew his scythe and prepared his speech.
“Halt. You have violated the rules of this planet. I, Zuriik Taroql, will deliver justi-oof!”
Instead of halting, the thief smashed into Zuriik at high speed, causing him to drop his scythe and halt his speech. The two of them were sent tumbling, over and over, finally coming to a skidding halt. Zuriik looked up at the face of his “attacker” and was left absolutely speechless. Was it her? No, it couldn’t be...could it? He had not yet received a vision of the moment when he met her, so perhaps...just maybe...it was. The two were caught in each others gaze; the boy, on the bottom, still enchanted by her-the girl, on top, holding in her mouth a stolen fish. Here she was, right in front of him, and Zuriik was unable to say a word. Finally, after a long silence, he formulated a “full” sentence.
“Hi.”
“Hi.”
“I’m Zuriik.”
“Ndgpdkjt.”
“What?”
She removed the morsel from her mouth and tried again.
“Nepeta.”
“Nice to meet you.”
She nodded in comprehension. Shit! Now what? Zuriik racked his brain for something to say. The perfect line struck him, as if out of heaven.
“Hey, you wouldn't happen to be an animal lover would you? I’m kind of a cat person myself.”
She smiled, opening her mouth to reply.
“SMASH.”
The loud noise woke Zuriik from his slumber. On his computer screen, WA was messing around with his Totem Lathe and Alchemiter, crafting various objects. The “smash” had likely come from Zuriik’s new Cruxtruder, which someone had just deployed in the apparently gigantic cave that Zuriik lived in. Wait. Gigantic? Filled with fury and confusion, Zuriik pulled his goggles down over his eyes and contacted Freddy.

At this statement, Zuriik’s entire inventory become useful for good, orientating the whole congregation of items to the “Yin” side of the scale. This caused the balance to shift enough to drop every item in his inventory onto the floor. A single piece of paper from this sudden outmass of objects floated down, happenstantialy coming into contact with the Kernelsprite. The two prototyped together in a bright flash of light, causing Zuriik to shield his eyes and providing a perfect stopping point for this chapter of his story.

Elix startled awake, a breath of cold air rushed in from an open window. Sitting up, he closed the window, then groped blindly around the floor for a shirt. Finding one he pulled it on over him, allowing for him to resist the chilly hell that was his home. He made his way to the kitchen, where he found a note that read:
"A package came in the mail for you-Pop"
His father had left it for him, great. Under the note was the afore mentioned package. He ripped it open to see a copy of sBurb, an item that he had coveted ever since he had learnt about it from his friends. This was going to be awesome. No more friendships from the real world that he would have to deal with, no person that he could fear of being stabbed in the back by that was untouchable themselves. It was the equal playing field that he desired. No actual damage done of course. He would hate to have killed anybody if anything.
"Couldn't everybody just live in peace and harmony" Elix mumbled as he inserted the disc into the tray of his laptop. He pushed his heavy bag over to make more room, and the system booted up. He opened Pesterchum

dashingFalcon [DU] has signed on. FALCON LOGIN!!!

He had dived into pesterchums data to customize his login sequence. It was pitiful, but still a nice touch. He had a certain affiliation with a certain captain, as posters of him encompassed his room. The enthusiasm penetrated his personality online to become a confident, outgoing leader. Which was contrast to his quiet, inward self, who couldn't help but put off things. It was a nice change, not being himself; throwing a charade instead changing his personality, much easier.

A couple of his friends were online, and the game was ready to install.

Oh, this was going to be good.

Midnight. 12:00. The witching hour. The suburbs. The Captio household, dark save for the light of the computer screen in Fastus’s room. Fastus himself was not at his computer. He was sitting on his bed, in
the dark, planning, scheming. His computer was computing, installing the game, Sburb, that he had placed into it. Huh? You thought he wouldn’t have Sburb at this point in time? Why would you think that? Fastus pulled quite a few strings to get his hands on 4 copies of both the server and client disks and spent a huge portion of his personal time finding three “friends” to play the game with. Fastus bantered with them for months, dropping hints and tips to eventually lead them to the inevitable mention of Sburb. He would be damned if he wasn’t prepared. He was messaged by VH this time, but he wasn't expecting to be pestered without reaching the top of the mountain. He lost his grip on the mountain he was climbing and fell down the side of the mountain, this would prove a challenge when entering the Medium later on. For now though it would only hurt a lot, but he was warned of those mountains. While he tumbled down he heard the voice of his dead father saying." I warned you about those mountains son, I warned you." His father did warn him about mountain climbing and stairs, but he occasionally forgot the advice given to him. He remembered that he was falling, so he tried to use a shirt as a parachute. But he didn't put on a shirt, so he was pretty much doomed as he saw it. Before he fell to his death he remembered that there was a pile of leaves at the bottom, from the time his dad decided to jump off the mountain and into the leaves. This pile of leaves was the place that Callus's father died, but Callus's mind chose to put that memory deep inside his subconscious. Luckily for Callus his subconscious was able to save him before he died, his subconscious made him notice the fact that a parachute was stuck to one of the trees he was about fall past. This was the parachute his father used the day he died, but Callus just thought it was one of many parachutes scattered around the island due to his friends dropping presents with parachutes attached. The parachute slowed him down, but it broke the instant he fell onto it. The leaves broke his fall, considering the parachute was there to save his life. He saw a box near one of the trees, he never noticed this box before due to him having no reason to be here before. He cleared the plants and other things off of it, so he could look at the box better. He really wanted to look at what was inside the box, but he had to get home due to it almost being night and creatures that could kill him coming out at night.

He ran to his home, completely ignoring the fact he almost died. He jumped through his door and quickly closed it, since it was steel none of the creatures could break it down without being intelligent. He remembered he was messaged earlier and decided to leave the box on his couch, he then tried to get the pda he dropped earlier without knowing he dropped it. It wasn't there, he quickly connected the dots and noticed he dropped it earlier when falling out of the mountain. He went downstairs leaving the box on the couch, his laptop was in his giant basement and it was a bit hard to see without the lights turned on. He moved his hand along the wall looking for the light switch, he found it and turned it on so he could see and there was his laptop that projected a holographic image of a screen and keyboard. The laptop itself was only a ring the size of an orange, it had a hole in the middle that was filled with circuitry and a projector for the holograms. He connected a wireless mouse to the ring and began opening Pesterchum, he saw that the person who messaged him was VH himself. Their conversation went like this

Callus checked out what the package had inside of it, he was surprised to find a yellow envelope with a disk labeled Sburb inside of it.

RH: It wouldn't happen to be named Sburb, would it?
RH: If it is, it came with the package.

Callus didn't notice that there was a note under the envelope, but if he did then he would probably be in a state of confusion and he wouldn't be able to have the rest of this conversation with VH.

VH: That is indeed the aformentioned disk. Tell me, was it my message that caused you to loose balance?
RH: Yeah, that kind of hurt when I fell down the mountain.
RH: It's cool though. If that didn't happen, I wouldn't have found the package.

[VH]: Now, about the strength of the enemies. As with all games, the strengths vary. At the beginning of the game, once you craft your Cruxite Artifact and interact with it, it will transport you into a realm known as The Medium, to a unique "Land" that caters to your personality and tastes. This is where the game truly begins.
[VH]: Enemies will begin to spawn here, imps at first. They will have abilities and traits based on what you prototyped with your sprite. Each time you prototype, all the enemies will alter accordingly. When in the Medium, you must advance through "Gates", 8 in total, to reach the third step of the game. I'll talk about that when I come to it.
[VH]: The enemies and obstacles will become more challenging as you progress, making it all the more satisfying when you defeat them.
[VH]: Just to give you a little preview of what you are in for, the second most powerful obstacles in the game are known as the Denizens. Each player must eventually defeat their corresponding Denizen to defeat the end boss and win the game. The aforementioned boss is known as the Black King. He gains powers from all players' different prototypings, making him a near demigod.
[VH]: Moving on, I believe that I should tell you all about the different player titles. Each player has a "player title" that describes them, consisting of a class and an aspect: like "Page of Life" or "Thief of Breath".
[VH]: Your class defines what type of abilities you receive, when you receive them and your primary role in the game while your aspect defines your powers and your secondary role in the game. Classes can be either supporting or solitary and sometimes has an associated gender. Aspects usually have both a physical or literal meaning and an associative or secondary meaning Here’s a quick rundown of all of them, at least the ones I know of.
[VH]:

Classes
Rogue; Steals “aspect” and gives to others, supporting, often female.
Thief; Steals “aspect” and supplies self, solitary, often female.
Heir; Becomes the manifestation of “aspect” and/or is protected by “aspect” depending on playstyle, either solitary or supporting, steadily gains strength through the passing of time, always male.
Maid; Defends with “aspect” or supplies self with “aspect”, solitary, always female.
Page; Provides others with “aspect”, supporting, starts weak but becomes very strong later in the game, abilities can vary based on circumstance, always male.
Knight; Uses “aspect” as a weapon to protect and assist others, both solitary and supporting, starts quite strong but gains little strength over the course of the game, either male or female.
Seer; Has extensive knowledge of “aspect” which they use to assist others, supporting, always has knowledge pertaining to or about Sburb, either male or female.
Mage; Has deep knowledge and experience of “aspect” as well as a slight immunity to it, supporting but can possible be solidary, either male or female.
Sylph; Heals using “aspect” or shares “aspect” with others, supporting, always female.
Witch; Manipulates or breaks the rules of “aspect”, solitary with supportive tendencies, always female.
Bard; Allows for destruction of or with “aspect” or sets stage for destruction of or with “aspect”, supporting (although they often make it harder for the party), always male.
Prince; Destroy “aspect” or destroys with “aspect”, solitary, always male.
Scribe; Observes and documents “aspect”, supporting, gains very few abilities, may eventually find loopholes or glitches in their aspect or the game itself, either female or male.
Lord; Master class, ultimate solitary, always male.
Muse; Master class, ultimate supporting, always female.

Aspects
Time; Time or the passing of time, has the ability to activate a mechanism known as “The Scratch” which resets the entire game with slightly different circumstances.
Space; Physics or paradox space (alternate universes and such), has the task of breeding together frogs to create the Genesis Frog (a universe of sorts).
Void; Nothingness or lack of knowledge.
Light; Light or luck or knowledge.
Mind; Thoughts or decisions.
Heart; Soul or love.
Doom; Death and destruction or sacrifice or judgement.
Life; Survival or structure or restoration.
Rage; Anger or suffering or belief (blind).
Hope; Hope or sanctity or belief (hopeful, like imagination).
Blood; Unity or emotions.
Breath; Wind or direction.

[VH]: I have deciphered that I am most likely a Seer (due to my extensive knowledge of the game), though of what aspect I am unsure, possibly Mind. As a Seer, my job is to guide the rest of you through the game, as I am doing right now. If any of you come up with what your potential class or aspect might be, let me know so that I can plan accordingly.
[VH]: Now then, if you will excuse me, I’ll see you all in the Medium.

[RH]: This is a lot to take in at at time, but I guess that you wont go easy on me with information.
[RH]: A bard of time or space would be terrible, so I hope we don't have any in our session.
[RH]: Space, now that sounds like an awesome aspect.
[RH]: I could throw knifes at supersonic speeds and stuff like that.
[RH]: If I could take a wild guess, then I guess I'm an heir.
[RH]: I think I'm prototyping my dad, since it would be awesome to have him as a sprite.
[RH]: I just hope the imps don't take on the appearance of my father when I prototype him, since it'll be pretty weird killing the imps.
[RH]: Let's say I wanted to visit your land, would I be able to?

[RH]: Yo, I keep on having the god damn dreams, it's driving me crazy.
[RH]: The dreams made me want to break every clock that I owned, since the infernal ticking is always in my dream's background.
[RH]: I keep on seeing the purple-blooded monster in my dreams.
[RH]: The thing, it has giant horns and it has a wild smile on it's face.
[RH]: It's carrying juggling clubs and it appears to be a clown, but this clown isn't even remotely funny.
[RH]: Is this somehow connected to the game or am I just subconsciously afraid of demon clowns?

Danavel didn't care on bit about the other troll, but he might as well make an ally. His mind was slowly leaning towards sanity, so his thoughts were becoming more like he was before. He had all the time in the universe, since he didn't plan on dying, yet. He heard someone coming down to where he was, so he turned towards the direction of the noise. "Sup, how you doing?" He was smiling a bit crazily, but he appeared to have lost the crazed look in his eyes. He didn't feel as if the Dark carnival spoken of in a religion on Alternia, but he thought that the idea of the carnival seemed interesting. He could finally make sense of what the manual said, but he wouldn't after he went sane. "Forgive me for asking highblood, but what are you doing here?" Equis was the lucky troll who got to see Danavel, but Danavel wasn't going to kill anyone and compromise his image. "Nothing, but what gives you the right to question me?" He was acting like people his blood color should act, but this was only a side-effect of Sopor withdrawal. "I am sorry highblood, but I was merely conveying a question I was ordered to ask." Equis had been told to ask Danavel what he was up to, but Danavel wasn't going to simply reveal his plans. "I command you to break these handcuffs, now." Danavel didn't enjoy being suppressed and he could do a lot of damage without his cuffs, yet he wasn't planning to do anything, yet. "As you wish." Equius was happy that a highblood was finally acting the way royalty should, since Gamzee was a high purple-blood who wouldn't be sober for a while.

Equius broke Danavel's handcuffs and Danavel could finally stand up. He rubbed his hands where they were sore from being cuffed. It didn't hurt too much, but it was bothersome. Danavel would enjoy being immortal, but he wasn't afraid of death. "Take me to the rest of the trolls. I believe that I haven't been able to …." He stopped abruptly and his body convulsed quickly, since he was finally returning to his normal self. He covered his face with his hands, but this was only an instinctive response. The pain of withdrawal quickly subsided and he was his normal self once again. "Highblood?" Equius noticed the sudden convulsion of Danavel, but Equius didn't know what this meant. "Huh, do I know you?" His voice wasn't as threatening and he had no maniacal smile. He wasn't going to continue acting like trolls of his blood color 'should', since he wasn't sober. He was slouching, his face paint was messy, and he had a tired look. "No, but I think it shall be best to take you to the other trolls." Equius still couldn't figure out what happened, but he decided to follow the order given to him previously and not worry about Danavel. Danavel was a bard in another timeline, but that timeline was one where he had slime before entering the game. That timeline was doomed from the beginning, but that timeline wasn't meant to be the Alpha timeline. Danavel and Equius went towards the location of the other trolls. Danavel examined all the other trolls and he saw that there was soot next to a computer, but he had no idea what that soot was there for. He noticed a horn pile in the middle of the room, so he picked up a horn and he squeezed it. It made a "honk", so Danavel decided that he would keep it. He put the horn in his inventory, it was organized into a group called Clown. "Hello, brother. How's it all up and going?" Gamzee was as carefree as ever, ignoring the fact that Aradiabot just exploded. "Hello. Your name is?" Danavel was interested in this purple-blood, since Gamzee didn't appear to want to kill Danavel without a moments hesitation. "Gamzee Makara, aren't names simply miraculous?" Gamzee introduced himself. Danavel was utterly baffled as to how this highblood could be so strange. "I guess. Nice talking to you, but I think I need to do something." Danavel was slightly suspicious of Gamzee's nature, since he thought that it was strange for someone to be calm and whimsical. Danavel simply stood there, waiting for someone to approach him and talk to him.

LOIAN certainly earned its namesake, especially the illusions part. While waiting for a response from Callus, Fastus had traversed his player planet, looking for his gateways. Though only a few imps were present, the world was still quite difficult and full of obstacles. When Fastus walked through what he thought to be the first gate, he soon found that it was actually a sheet of glass with a picture of the first gate drawn on it. He searched every section of LOIAN that he could, finding chests of grist and boondollars instead of any sign of the real gateway. This was proving to be most tiring. It suddenly occurred to Fastus that if he reached the second gate before any of the other players reached the Medium, he would be unable to advance further. He groaned at his stupidity. Exploiting a bug in the game to get this far ahead as quickly as possible had its downside. His computer was still out thankfully, since Fatus had no idea when RH would get back to him. After a quick calculation of who he should choose for his server player, Fastus opened the laptop and contacted one of the members of his group.

valdephonousHost [VH] began pestering smilingUsuper [SU]

[VH]: Greetings Miss Howard.
[VH]: I hate to bother you at the moment, but I am currently in a...predicament.
[VH]: Your assistance is required for me to progress any further in the game.

[SU] Good morning, Host.
[SU] I will try to help in any way that I can.
[SU] You've got impeccable manners, btw

[VH] Thank you. Well then, is it possible that you could connect to my session as my Server Player?
[VH]: Although I have found a backdoor into the Medium, and entered it that way, I have no way of advancing without...erm...
[VH]: Without your help.

Fuck, he hated to admit that. Rule number one, the thing he had remember all these years of having to fend for himself in a cruel world, was to never show weakness. Fastus had learned that the hard way, from the fists of the bullies in his orphanage. Never show weakness, ever. Not to your enemies, not to your supposed friends, not even to yourself. Anybody could betray you, no matter who they are. The rules of the jungle are that the weak die out while the strong survive. That was true here as well, and everywhere. Display even a slight break, a tiny crack in yourself, and they will rip you apart.

[SU] I wouldn't mind that at all. *smiles*
[SU] Though, I am rather new to the game so...
[SU] Please don't get upset if I do something wrong. *nervous smile*
[SU] But I will do the best I can. Shall we?

Fastus did his best to not become attached to this kind young lady. He continually reminded himself of what he had planned for the lot of them once this game had reached its final moments. As much as he hated to think about it, it would be even harder still to get himself to do it. Betrayal was not an easy thing to stomach, even if you are the one organizing it. Well, especially if you are the one organizing it.

[VH]: Yes. We shall.
[VH]: And Keni?
[VH]: Thank you.

[SU] You're more than welcome.
[SU] *smiles and pulls on gloves* Let's do this thing!

His computer connected to Keni’s, the only slightly needed server player’s presence activating both of LOIAN’s gateways.

Keni watched as the chat minimized itself. Cracking her knuckles, she started up the program. Bella only gave a simple huff as she curled against her mistress's chair, causing the young lady to swivel to the side slightly.

"Bells! I gotta help this dude, c'mon..." Keni grumbled, trying to make sure that the chair was scooted back into place. Soon, she watched as Fastus appeared on her screen. From what she could see, his land looked rather pretty. But, she still preferred her own. Casting a glance outside the window, she watched as the light glistened off of the mounds of quartz. This was LOQAA; the Land of Quartz and Art.

The transition from earth to the medium had been rather easy; her brothers having taken care of a few imps that threatened the house a while ago; she would go out and explore later. She had a job to do at the moment, and the warm house was just too comfy.

Zuriik watched Danavel go, the Ensightened still monologuing in his head. "...and although your session never lasted long enough to beget such beings, I thought you might want to know about them."

"Just...shut up." the troll groaned, putting his hand to his head. "Why the fuck can't you just leave me alone for an hour? Fuck."

"Sorry, but I needed to know what you saw in your visions."

"So you interrupted my conversation with my friend to ask me about something I made it clear I didn't want to talk about?"

"Yes."

"Fuck you."

"So what did you see?"

"Nothing." Zuriik muttered. "Nothing important or recognizable. Just a bunch of Doom and gloom and death. The fucking usual."

"I...see. Very well."

"What?"

"Oh, it's nothing. Just need to think for a while."

Zuriik laughed. "Oh, so now you're the one running away from this conversation without telling me anything. Freaking hypocrite."

"I heard that."

"You were supposed to."

The Ensightened fell silent, Zuriik shakily rising to his feet. Even more than the visions, even more than the pain, what lingered with him was the faces of his friends. The pity they expressed towards him. It was about time that he tried to undo a bit of that pity. Got them to accept him as a troll and not just treat him like a delicate animal. Perhaps...

Zuriik pulled something out of his inventory, the medallion given to him by his sprite. Maybe it would work here. He concentrated, the necklace glowing, but no sprite appearing. He tried again, desperately desiring to talk to his feline friend that was most likely stuck inside a black hole. He wanted to ask the creature if it could recite to him the love letter he wrote, that became part of it. He had written it to Nepeta, perhaps it would impress her. But no, nothing. The words he had placed onto the precious piece of paper were lost forever, he could not recall them on his own. Zuriik cried out in frustration, chucking the thing at the wall, where it bounced off and skidded to the floor. He would not give up, he decided. No matter if he had to make it up on the spot, he would tell her how he felt. Another night could not go by with disappointment and self-hate. It was now or never. Zuriik crossed the room, opening the door and staring out into the hallway. A tentative step, closing the door behind him. It was time to test his luck at the cruel game known as romance. Zuriik prayed for whatever god of love or luck that might exist to aid him, and he set off toward Nepeta's room.
