{ Patronus Memory }
When she and her past lover dated for nine months.
They were inseparable and went every where, and did everything together.
They were madly in-love and couldn't live without each other.

While of course they were still young, they didn't do anything
that they would regret later on in life. They were both always careful and made sure
that they were always each other's positive outlooks on life.

When her and her family went camping and

Her family was very close when she was far younger, going on trips, shopping, and having parties.
They would do everything together and it seemed like nothing could change it. Everything was easier
and happier when she was young and that's why her younger years,
especially when they went camping they were her more happy memories.

{ Saddest Memory }
When her past lover broke up with her. They were dating for nine moths, going strong, and her lover just broke it off.
No reason, never told her why, just that he was done. She cried herself to sleep for weeks, and never got over the heartache.
If anyone brings up her break up, she just goes to be by herself and cry until she thinks of something else.

So begins...

Jamie Middleton's Story

ImageThe Great Hall was filled with light, food, teachers, and all of the students except for the first years, who were just entering now. Various things from pumpkin juice to chocolate cake adorned the platters on the tables. Each house ghost, excluding the Bloody Baron, were there as well. The Great Hall was just that. It was great in size, in standards, in supply if food, and just it's overall Imageaura. The ceiling was high above, and floating in the air were various magical candles and floating orbs of light.

Above each house table was its banner. Gryffindor's lion, Ravenclaw's eagle, Slytherin's snake, and Hufflepuff's badger, all in their house colors. Each one filled with the students who had been sorted in the previous years. Each bustling with people. As the first Imageyears walked down the long path between the tables, anxiety and whispering could be heard throughout. "What house will I be?" "Who are they?" "Is that who I think it is?" "I wonder how many of them are mud bloods this year". The whispers were obviously there, though not all were clear. Nearly Headless Nick swore he had forgotten something again, before adjusting his head so it wasn't hanging off.
Image
The sorting hat sat there, the one thing who would choose what house they would be. This hat had seen more anxiety, anger, and disbelief then any other being alive. And now, it would reach into the minds of these students and place them where they belong. The first name was then called forth. Liam Porter.
Image
As Liam sat on the stool, the sorting hat was placed on his head. "Liam Porter, eh? You have quite a few brothers, at least two I believe still attend here. Another Porter. You are very loyal...but, you are also very brave. Courage runs strong in you like your brothers. Maybe Hufflepuff....but I think I know a better place. Among your brothers. GRYFFINDOR!!!" The Gryffindors cheered and then chanted together. "You belong in Gryffindor where dwell the brave at heart! Our daring nerve and chivalry set Gryffindors apart!"
Image
The next name called was Octavia O'Conner. She approached the stool, slid on then the hat was placed on her pale hair. "Not much wit in the head but there is bravery but more than that, loyalty. You aren't afraid of bad things to come and I believe your brother was quite the same. Well Ms. Octavia. I believe you belong in.... HUFFLEPUFF!" Again there was cheering and yet another chant. "You belong in Hufflepuff where they are just and loyal! We Hufflepuffs are true and unafraid of toil!"

The other students were sorted and then the feast began. It is a happy time at Hogwarts as the young first years meet new friends in their houses or even, new enemies.

[ OOC: Not trying to be rude by not including the Ravenclaw and Slytherin first years but I have nothing to go off of as a name thing. Truly sorry if I offend anyone. ]

Liam wasn't surprised. Every Porter who ever went under that hat seemingly became a Gryffindor. He was more worried about people knowing who he was. After all, his story made the front page twice. "Ministery Official's Death and Son barely survives after a few days alone in the snow filled forest" still rang into his ears from others voices, despite the lengthy name. It was a big story, his father dying, and Liam managing to reflect a curse out of pure luck. But to him, every time he heard was just another reminder his father was dead, and he watched it happen. His family was all affected, but he witnessed the death himself. And he was the closest with their father. It bothered him more then others. And people tended to treat you differently already when your mother was as high up in the Ministry as his.

That didn't mean he showed it though. He hid behind his normal self, full of jokes and courage and loyalty. As he sat down at the table around fellow Gryffindor's, a familiar face caught his attention. It was his brother, Daniel. "Welcome to the club Liam" he mentioned, messing up Liam's hair. Liam smiled somewhat, but also was annoyed.

"I thought I told you to stop doing that!" Liam mentioned, as his other brother Tristen added "Now you are stuck with us. Also means you can stop using my bed at home since you're here now".

Liam looked towards the other Gryffindor's nearby. "Please tell me they are less annoying here then at home. And Tristen, ground rule, no messing with me before a test or I start mentioning certain stories. Understood?" At least they stopped calling him "The Boy who Survived". Granted he did survive three days alone in the woods wounded, but he hated the idea of being like Harry Potter. While he did have this great history, Liam wasn't a big fan of that spotlight, and it implied he was prone to danger. Which, while he denied it, he was.

He just hoped the school year wouldn't be as disaster out, or that he would get so much "special treatment". But he would brave it all the same, no matter what.

(NPC Porters, activate! Anyways, if anyone wants to make one of them as an actual character I wouldn't mind).

(Also, the similarities between Porter and Potter is coincidental. I just noticed it myself in this post).

It was the begining of another year at Hogwarts, and as always Jamie was happy to go, even begging to go. Since she was a half blood, she lived in the Muggle world with her Muggle father, her mother who was a witch, and her younger sister who would be going to Hogwarts next year. As Jamie said her goodbyes and boarded the train, she couldn't help but smile. She belonged in the Wizard world more than the Muggle world.

It was then hours later as she and other students filed into Hogwarts and sat in the Great Hall. Even though she was sorted into the Gryffindor house on her first year, which was almost five years ago, she still had friends who were in other houses like, HufflePuff and Ravenclaw. She looked for some familiar faces, and found some. She found the Porter brothers and sat next to them.

She smiled and said, '' So I hear your brother Liam will be attending for his first term. I can't wait to see what house he'll be put in. Hopefully Gryffindor, for his sake.'' She smiled and lowered hew voice and so did everyone as as the Sorting ceramony would begin.

Allof the students watched as the first years poured in through the gates. They all watched as Headmaster sat the The sorting hat on the stool, sat there, the one thing who would choose what house the first years would be in. This hat had seen more anxiety, anger, and disbelief then any other being alive. And now, it would reach into the minds of these students and place them where they belong. The first name was then called forth. Liam Porter. Jamie smiled and looked at Liam's brothers and looked back at the new students and waited with excitement.

GRYFFINDOR!!!" Jamie and Liam's brothers as well as the other Gryffindors cheered and then chanted together. "You belong in Gryffindor where dwell the brave at heart! Our daring nerve and chivalry set Gryffindors apart!" Jamie clapped and as the others students were sorted, she moved onto the other side of the table so Liam could sit with his brothers.

Jamies watched as Liam sat down at the table around fellow Gryffindor's. She watched as Liam looked at Daniel and she smiled and listened as they greeted each other. "Welcome to the club Liam." Jamie smiled again and looked at Liam.

"I thought I told you to stop doing that!" Liam mentioned, as his other brother Tristen added "Now you are stuck with us. Also means you can stop using my bed at home since you're here now.'' Jamie couldn't help but smile and laugh lightly and then stopped as she didn't want her first impression to come off as mean.

Jamie took a sip of her Butter beer and then looked at Liam as he said, "Please tell me they are less annoying here then at home. And Tristen, ground rule, no messing with me before a test or I start mentioning certain stories. Understood?" She smiled and said, '' Hi Liam, it's nice to meet you, I'm Jamie Middleton. And sadly, Tom and Jerry over here don't act very differently than they do at home.'' She liked to refer to Liam's brother with pet names every now and then since they have grown rather close over the years. She then looked back at Liam and said, ''So do you think you'll be trying out for the Quidditch team this year? Your brother tried out, but didn't make the cut. While on the other hand, I made it, just like last year and the year before.'' She looked back at Daniel and Tristen and stuck her tongue out with a playful flare and then started to enjoy the feast just as the others were.

Liam was semi embarrassed. "It's not your room anymore it's mine!" He turned towards Jamie. "Because I am sure they neglected to add this fact, the room is mine. It's a hand me down. It's a long story involving having a lot of siblings. All brothers".

When she confirmed his fears, he sighed. "Great. Which means I have to deal with Tristen's pranks and Daniel's...I don't even know what to call you Daniel".

"I signed you up to be the Keeper by the way" Daniel noted with a smile. "Just so you know".

Liam looked at Daniel with the typical brotherhood anger. Liam hated it when Daniel signed him up for things without asking, especially when he knows Liam would have agreed to it. The psychologist was by far the most annoying. "I hate you. I hope you know that. I hate you very much".

"I love you too".

He looked at Jamie. "I don't think il make it through the year. Just, whatever you do, do not trust them with the laundry. Especially Tristen".

"Hey! What did I do?" He noted playfully.

"You made it so my clothes turn invisible after long exposure to sunlight? Don't think I forgave you for that. I will have my revenge".

Liam continued to feast like crazy, clearly hungry. That's when he felt a very familiar head try to get fallen bits of food on his lap. "No...she didn't. Did she? Did our mom really?" Liam looked under the table, and surely enough, there was his dog, Winter. Winter jumped up next to him and licked his face, causing an involuntary laugh. "Winter! Winter stop!"

The dog then decided to start eating some of the food on Liam's plate. "So, I take it mom pulled some strings to get Winter here?"

"Yep"

"So what's next exactly? Common room? Or is there something you have yet to tell me?"

Jamie couldn't help but laugh to herself when Liam explained not to trust Tristen or Daniel with the laundry.
She looked at Liam and said, ''Don't worry. I've learned to not trust either one of them.....but that's for another time.'' She looked around for some other students she would recognize from other years, which she had.

She was then snapped out of her train of thought when she heard Liam get upset and then calm down when she saw a dog on the other side of the table with Liam and his brothers. She smiled and looked around, hoping no one would get upset. She then listened as Liam asked his brothers if their mum had managed to let their dog come to the school with them.

Jamie looked back at Liam and said, ''Don't worry. As long as you don't get cocky, you'll be fine at Quidditch. I thought I was gonna be awful or die while playing my first ever game. But I actually wasn't too bad.'' She remembered when she first tried out, she had gotten a broken arm on her first game, but that wasn't the wort thing that could happen to anyone while playing Quidditch.

Jamie then looked back at Liam and said, ''Plus, I'm the house's Seeker. So you'll be fine.''
'' So what's next exactly? Common room? Or is there something you have yet to tell me?'' Jamie heard Liam say as the feast was over and all the other students were getting up and going to their dorms for a night's rest. She cleared her throat as she loosened her red and gold tie that was around her neck. She looked back at the Porter boys and said, ''No, it's time to go to the Common Room and hang out for a bit if you want. I might go to bed early, but I'll think about it on the way there. Shall we get going?'' She said with a smile and started to walk with the other Gryffindors.

The Great Hall buzzed with excitement while the children of the houses ate their food.
The Headmaster was quietly conversing with some of the other teachers while sometimes
locking eyes with a child. The first one he locked eyes with was Octavia. She turned to her
brother, inquiring. "Brother... Who is that man in the middle of the teacher's table?" She
questioned as Miles moved on to look at some of the other children. He turned to his
fellow teachers and had slight conversation as did Octavia before the Headmaster stepped
up to the podium. The lights flickered to get attention but then he began speaking. "I would like
to extend a hand of welcoming to the first years. May your future be bright and prosperous.
Now. I must inform everyone that entering the dark forest is forbidden, unless you want to
live like Sir Nicholas here."
He motioned to the ghost who took his head off which received a
few Ewws and some people mentioning that it was cool. Miles continued on. "Now, Prefects
will escort the first years of their house to the dormitories and then tomorrow you will be able
to explore the grounds."
I wish all of you happy dreams and wonderful friendships. With
that, most of the people in the hall got up to leave towards the dormitories. Octavia looked at
Kieran. "Do I have to go with the Prefect brother?" She questioned hesitantly.

As the Headmaster (or, who he suspected was the Headmaster) gave them a speech before telling the First Years to follow the Prefects, he couldn't help but feel happy knowing Winter was here with him. "I guess I will see you all there then". He told them as he walked towards the Prefects with the other First Years. He didn't like some of the looks he saw from the Slytherin Prefects, or from the their table. But he hated the whispers even more. He could hear them talking about him, and Liam knew it wasn't about Winter. It was about his father.

As he gathered with the other First Years and before they were all grouped into individual houses, he accidentally bumped into two of them. "Oh, Sorry" Liam mentioned to Octavia and Emma as Winter walked next to him. "Hi, my name is Liam. Liam Porter". He had also gotten his schedule out, looking at his classes. And what he saw made him be filled with dread, as his first class was History of Magic, by James Porter.

"Great. Just great. My first class is taught by my brother" he mentioned to himself out loud. "Well, I am officially convinced I am not surviving the year. Talk about being suffocated by your own family".

At least he had Winter with him.

Jamie looked at Liam and said, '' Alright, see you when we get there, Liam.'' She looked at Tristen and Daniel as the first years walked to the dorms. She gave Tristen an evil smile which always meant that she wanted to be carried to the dorms. She jumped onto Tristen's back and wrapped her arms around his neck loosly. She smirked and said, '' To the dorms common room, boys!!'' She smiled and laughed as all the other students filed out of the Great Hall and made it to their dorms as well.

As they were walking, she looked to her right and saw Chara Delagrave, one of her friends who was sorted into Hufflepuff. Yes, she had a friend in Hufflepuff, but she didn't care. She even had some friends in Slytherine and Ravenclaw. She then said to Tristen and Daniel, I'll see you boys in the Common Room. I have a friend who I need to talk to real quick.'' Jamie jumped off of Tristen and made her way through the crowd of students until she fumbled right into Chara. She straightened her stance and smiled at her friend.

Chara had been there for Jamie since their first year, and they still were pretty good friends five years later.
Jamie looked at the red haired girl right next to her as they were walking and said, ''Hey, Char. How have you been since last term?'' She looked around as they walked through the halls, even though they would have to part ways in a few minutes for the night, Jamie wanted to get a quick word from her friend before they saw each other again the next day.

Chara Delagrave

Chara stopped eating long enough to listen to Professor Miles's speech. Once he had finished, she stood up and walked over to the entrance to the Great Hall, raising her voice to the Hufflepuffs, telling them the rules and the rest of the speech that she had memorized over the summer. As they walked to the common room, Jamie came by. She and Jamie had been friends since her second year, and Jamie's first. They had gotten along well, as Chara was polite but still outspoken, and Jamie was a true Gryffindor.

She stopped for a second to answer Jamie's question, letting her fellow prefect, Jared, take the rest of the house. Chara responded with, "I've been doing great. I'm on the quidditch team again this year, which is fortunate. I don't know what I'd do without quidditch. Probably my work for once," Chara finished her statement with a chuckle before continuing, "But how are you this year?" Chara knew that Jamie had most likely been hanging out with her friends, and she didn't want to keep her from them, but she wanted to know how her friend had been doing. Sighing a little, she loosely twirled an end of her hair, noting that she had to apply another coat of dye onto it, the red in her hair was starting to fade.

Jaime listened as her friend said, ''"I've been doing great. I'm on the Quidditch team again this year, which is fortunate. I don't know what I'd do without quidditch. Probably my work for once," which was shortly fallowed by a chuckle. Jamie smiled and continued to slowly walk with her friend. '' But how are you this year?" Jamie heard her friend ask. Jamie smiled and thought for a moment. She had done a lot since last term, and some of it wasn't worth mentioning.

Riley looked at Chara and said, ''Well, it's good to hear that you've been well. And that's fantastic that you're joining the Quidditch team again.'' She said with true sincerity and with her clear English accent showing. She smiled and continued, ''I've been good. I've been working on some more spells, but so far I haven't been able to come up with my own. Aside from that, things have been good. My mum and dad and sister are all doing well.'' She sighed and looked around and saw that the Hufflepuff common room was going to be coming up very shortly.

She looked back at Chara and said, ''I'll be joining the Quidditch team again too. Same position as before, Gryffindor Seeker. But it looks like we've run out of time to talk tonight. We can catch up again on things tomorrow.'' And just as she was about to say one more thing before the had to say good byes, she felt a body jump onto her which made Jamie slightly scream. She took a deep breath and looked over her shoulder to see who it was. She then laughed as she saw who it was.

It was her best friend, Bailey Carter. Jamie smiled and said, ''Bloody hell, Bailey! Don't you know not to sneak up on me like that anymore?'' She said while with a slight laugh in her voice. She looked back at Chara and smiled. Bailey looked at the red haired girl that Jamie was talking to and said, ''Hello. I'm Bailey Carter. Jaime's best friend in the whole wide world and the one who's going to be the constant pain in her arse all term.'' Bailey joked with her clear Scottish accent in her voice. Jamie smiled and stretched as Bailey got of her back and stood next to the both of them.

Jamie looked back at Chara and said, ''I'm terribly sorry about Bailey. She can be a twit sometimes, and always at the wrong moments. I'll always wonder how you ever got into Gryffindor and not Slytherine.'' She said jokingly as she pushed her friend lightly. Bailey gave Jamie a smile and stuck her tongue out and said, ''Well, I'm gonna go to the Common room. I'm tired and I still want to talk to you before we have to go to sleep, ok?'' Jamie nodded and watched as Bailey ran off and dissapeared into the crowd of students.

She looked back at Chara one last time and said, ''I really am sorry about her. She just doesn't know when to not be a pain in the arse. But hey, got to love her when you get to know her. Anyway, it's late and you'll need to catch up with your House before you lose sight of them. Good night Char and I'll see you tomorrow.'' She gave her friend one last smile and wave and then turned and ran up to the crowd of Gryffindor students and fallowed them to the Common Room.

(OOC Note: Just like the rest who used FC's for their main characters friends. Bailey will remain an NPC, even thought she won't interfer with the story at all. I just wanted to give Jamie some one who she's really close with and whatever. Hope it's alright).

Chara Delagrave
Chara smiled at the antics of Jamie and her friend, waving goodbye after making a few quidditch competition jokes. When Jamie walked off, Chara walked into the common room, checking the bulletin board. All of the necessary announcements were posted, and there weren't any prank posters or anything that first years shouldn't see, although why a Hufflepuff would do something like that was beyond her. Why anybody would do that was beyond her. Once she had finished that, Chara collapsed onto the fluffy yellow couch that was sitting by the fire, a hanging plant dangerously close to hitting her in the head.

Sighing, Chara stood up and began to slowly walk to her dorm, sleepiness taking its toll, giving her a zombie-like walk and posture. She pushed open the large, round, vault door that led to the dormitories. She struggled up the steps, the cold of being underneath the castle starting to seep into her bones. Once she reached her dormitory, precious dorm number six, the one she had been sleeping in since first year, she flopped onto her bed like a fish out of water. Shifting uncomfortably, she realized that she had messily folded up and shoved her schedule for the year in her back pocket. Fishing it out, she unfolded it as carefully as possible, smoothing out the edges as much as she could, and began to look it over. She sighed. All of her good classes were with Slytherins. Not all of them were evil, but most were.

With a mindset now far away from bad thoughts about Slytherins, Chara realized that her schedule was now totally ruined. She groaned, letting her head fall back, promising herself that she would make a new one. Soon. If you actually find time for it, or stop procrastinating long enough to even consider work, Chara thought to herself with a slight smile. She laid back against the bed, her thoughts about schedules and Slytherins drifting away with her consciousness.
