a character in “Hogwarts: Nineteen Years Later”, originally authored by crybloodredtears, as played by RolePlayGateway

ImageName: Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy

Nickname: Scor

Age: 11

Birthday: March 13th

Gender: Male

Year: 1

Blood Purity: Pure-blood

Wand: Ebony wand, 11 3/4 inches, Unicorn Hair core, sturdy and good for defensive/protective spells.

House: Slytherin

Appearance: Scorpius is a slender boy with sleek white-blond hair, seemingly cold gray eyes, a pale complexion and rather sharp, pointed features which he inherited from both his grandfather and his father. He's average height for his age and has long elegant fingers, good for playing the piano at Malfoy Manor. Another, more obvious point; he's nearly identical to how his father looked at his age except for the fact he doesn't 'grease' it back.

Personality: Scorpius is quite intelligent and quick-witted, capable of deducing things and coming up with clever plans based on a small amount of information. He's quiet and actually rather caring, especially to his family, and can be very thoughtful. He tends to keep his emotions to himself, typical of a Malfoy, which has caused many to think he is exactly like his father was. He doesn't like Gryffindor House, something that has stemmed from years of House rivalry in his family, but does respect any Gryffindors; including Potter's and Weasley's who were vital in ending the most recent war. He's not one for obeying rules and sometimes acts rashly but, otherwise, he is a Slytherin through and through.

Family: Son of Draco and Astoria Malfoy.
And Scor's black Barn Owl Thanatos.

So begins...

Cassiopeia let out a bored sigh as her parents, Harry and Ginny Potter, fussed over herself and her older brother Albus. This was to be their first year at Hogwarts Schoo of Witchcraft and Wizardry and their parents were practically beside themselves. Her golden eye looked over to her younger sister Lily, who still had another 2 years to wait, as the younger girl stared with jealousy in her eyes.

" Mum, dad," Cassiopeia said quietly, but they heard her clearly. She was the type of girl many would stop and listen to just because they'd see her pale lips part to speak. " I want to get on the train before it leaves," At this, the Barn Owl in the cage on her cart hooted in agreement. " See? Athena says so too." Ginny rushed forward to give her daughter a large hug before her father, Harry, pulled the girl into his strong arms. " The hat takes your choice into consideration," he reminded her, whispering it in her ear. " Good luck and send Athena back with plenty of letters." His bright green eyes sparkled as his daughter gave a nod, " I will. And don't worry, I'll be safe." She barely glanced at Albus and James as the elder spoke, " Come on, lets get a train car before they are all taken!"

She found herself taken by the arm and pulled ahead, barely managing to hide her scowl at James' insistence. Cassiopeia was one to do things on her own terms, not others. Her brothers and herself found an empty compartment and decided to take it, leaving the girl to sit as the boys waved quickly out the window at their parents. Then, James began yet another of his long winded speeches;

" Well, the train should be leaving soon. I think. Unless we arrived early. Or if its delayed," he paused to take out a chocolate frog and caught it, practically shoving it down his throat before continuing, muttering under his breath. " Definitely better before the first jump...." There was a miniscule pause before he turned to both his first year siblings, " Okay, first things first. Don't eat any food just left laying around. Probably a trap. Don't eat any food given to you by someone you don't know. Probably a trap. Don't stare at the potions teacher. He is the New Head of Slytherin. Some say he was a Death Eater at one point, but there isn't any proof. He is hugely supporting Slytherin. Also, don't show up late to your first class. Horrible way to start a year. There is also a bunch more things, but I think I covered the basics. Now, you will probably just get eaten by a Troll on your first year."

Cassiopeia smirked as she looked over at Albus and rolled her eyes, trying to comfort the already worked up boy. " Ignore him, he's trying to freak you out," she murmured to him with a light laugh as she turned to look at her owl, [url=]Athena[/url.]. " I should have let you fly ahead, shouldn't I?" The girl asked her bird, stroking her soft feathers through the cage. The white, brown and grey owl nipped her finger lightly as if to say 'it doesn't matter'. James' voice took her attention away from the bird as he spoke, again.

" I think the train is starting. Or starting soon."

Soon wouldn't be soon enough, the girl found herself thinking with annoyance at her brother.

Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy was quick about his own goodbye's, not a stranger to leaving his parents for long periods of time. " I'll be fine and write plenty," the platinum haired boy said softly as he hugged his mother. He was released only to be pulled into another set of arms, larger and stronger; his father, Draco. " Remember what I said, Scor.." The older Malfoy murmured warningly to which the young boy nodded, " I know and I will."

He let go and took a step back, trying to ignore the tear he could see running down his mother's cheek. " I love you mum and dad, I'll see you at Christmas holidays." Scorpius turned and made his way up into the train, turning to help a girl with brown hair with her owl. He heard her mumble a low 'thanks' and nodded in acknowledgement, making his way to a compartment with several others behind him.

He sat down and listened to the other excitable first years who kept going on and on about what House they wanted to be sorted in; which was the best, and so on and so forth. He kept his ears in the conversation as he stared out the window, seeing his father holding his mother as they waved. Of course, he only lifted his hand to give a short wave before dropping it back to his lap. This was going to be a long, boring train ride.

Cassiopeia soon left the compartment her brothers were in, seeing they were soon joined by others, and found a compartment where some first years sat. One had platinum blonde hair, clearly a Malfoy, but she ignored this as she sat next to her distant relative. Very distant relative.

She said nothing, choosing to tune out the world and the chattering of the others as she stared out the window with bored golden eyes.

Upon reaching Hogsmeade, she went with the other first years into the boats that would take them to the school. Cassiopeia found herself to be in the same boat, literally, with the young Malfoy. She quickly grew tired of his silence, " You're a Malfoy, right?" His cool grey eyes turned to the brunette in surprise. " Scorpius Malfoy," he said quietly with a nod to her, " You?"

" I'm Cassiopeia Potter," the girl answered, quieting as she said her last name. She hated when others judged her by her father and family name. Scorpius said nothing in return and their conversation ended, although Cassiopeia was quite pleased to know her assumption had been correct. As usual.

When they entered the great castle, the first years were ushered into the Great Hall where most oo'd and aw'd over the ceiling and overall enormosity of the room. They were soon sorted and Cassiopeia was pleased to see Albus sorted into Gryffindor before she was called to try the hat. Sitting on the stool the teacher lowered the hat to the girl's head and it began to speak to her.

" You're another Potter," the tone was unsurprised, " hmm, how interesting. Yes..." Cassiopeia glanced upward, seeing the dark brim over her brow. A few moments of consideration and its decision was called out loudly for everyone to hear, " SLYTHERIN!"

Cassiopeia stood and removed the magical hat herself, handing it to the surprised teacher before making her way to the Slytherin table. Cheers erupted although she knew some were probably fake but this didn't disappoint her as she sat on the bench, a smug look spreading across her features as her golden eyes found her brothers at the Gryffindor table.

Scorpius hadn't even sat when the teacher placed the hat on his head, where it didn't stay long. " SLYTHERIN!" The hat called out, having barely touched the young boy's mind. Malfoy's were famous for never having been in another House. Ever.

He was quite pleased as he stepped from the platform and strode over to the Slytherin table where the 'snakes' of the school clapped, some cheering. He sat next to the girl he'd met on the boat and, after giving a small smile to her, turned to watch the rest of the sortings.

Potter's, Weasley's, blah blah blah. These were children of the men and women his own father had gone to school with, and bullied, and one was his own House-mate.
