Although Owen used to keep his hair fairly short, he's started keeping it longer since his time in America. He is not very tall, but his athleticism allows him impressive speed. He has a well-defined jaw and a crooked smile.
Owen's style is smart, yet casual. He doesn't care much for fancy outfits consciously, but he tends to pick out the nicer things without thinking.

He gives off the impression of being cold and aloof, but he really just isn't great at expressing warm emotion. He likes facts and step-by-step plans and straightforward procedures that have been tested and found effective. He will follow an effective procedure to his dying breath.
Owen gets frustrated when others are inconsistent or do not keep their commitments. He will, however, keep his frustrations to himself unless he is asked, at which point he will be brutally honest. He believes honesty to be the most efficient way of communicating, and thus employs it 99% of the time, whether or not it will hurt someone's feelings or make him appear rude. He is an excellent mediator, objective and truthful, and he is often sought out by his younger housemates to settle disputes.
He loves learning, and he has a particular fondness for magical creatures. Animals in general also bring out the tender, caring side of him that only his sister sees otherwise.
He and his sister both harbor guilt for leaving Hogwarts in its time of need. Their parents believed it was the best way to keep them safe from family members that ended up being actual Death Eaters instead of just sympathizers.

S T R A I G H T F O R W A R D
As far as Owen is concerned, honesty is the best policy. He is direct and unflinching when delivering the truth, and he never tries to conceal facts, especially when he knows they are important. You'll never catch him playing mind games or trying to deceive someone.
R E S P O N S I B L E
If Owen commits to it, it is going to happen, come hell or high water. He completes his duties and stays focused on his goals. Integrity is everything to him, and he carries out his goals with integrity, determination, and unwavering patience.
P R A C T I C A L
Cool, calm, and collected, Owen would never get anything done if he allowed himself to fly off the handle and break down. He makes clear, rational decisions based on facts and effectiveness. He follows the rules, and he prefers when other people do as well. He believes in structure and order—a system in which everyone knows exactly what's going on and why.
W E A K N E S S E S
R I G I D
Owen is stubborn and unyielding. He believes in nothing but the facts, and that can lead him to trouble when others act on their feelings. He always plays by the rules, and he doesn't like to venture outside of his comfort zone. Unstructured environments can leave him paralyzed.
I N S E N S I T I V E
Owen often forgets to consider emotions as part of his decisions, so he can be dismissive of other's thoughts and feelings at times. He is also very blunt and honest. While that's mostly a positive, it also means he really has no filter when it comes to telling hurtful truths.
J U D G M E N T A L
Owen is simply unlikely to respect people who disagree with facts or remain willfully ignorant of them. He can also be very judgmental of himself, and he has a tendency to blame himself for things going wrong.
Q U I R K S
Owen is a very particular person. He likes things a certain way, and he keeps a detailed and organized journal to help him keep track of everything. He doesn't do well with empathy, so he can come across as cold and unfeeling at times. His laid-back and casual conversation to get to know someone can often resemble an interrogation, with probing, often deeply personal questions. He absolutely hates inefficiency, which can cause him a lot of problems with the strange and traditional ways of witches and wizards. Although his accent is (mostly) English, he has a lot of vocabulary that is distinctly American.
H O B B I E S
Owen enjoys playing Quidditch, although he absolutely hates watching it. He likes simple, ruled activities like chess and collecting. He prefers studying and improving his magic to most other activities, which is part of why he decided to become an animagus.
F A T H E R, Ophion Octavius Oliver. thirty-eight. Although for the most part Owen's relationship with his father is mostly positive, Owen worries that Ophion is disappointed that Owen is in Ravenclaw instead of Gryffindor, especially when he sees how well he and Cordi get along. Ophion is an Unspeakable.
S I B L I N G, Cordelia Rose Oliver. seventeen. Cordi is Owen's twins sister. Like Owen, she is a seventh-year at Hogwarts. She was sorted into Gryffindor, but they are still inseparable. Despite their close relationship, he doesn't like to be compared to her or treated as if they are one person.
U N C L E, Frederick James Wyatt. thirty-six. Freddie lives in Boston, Massachusetts, and works as a prosecutor for the no-maj state government. He consistently straddles the line between the magical and non-magical world, as he and his twin sister were born magical to no-maj parents. Owen is close with his uncle Freddie. He's almost a third parent to him. During the Second Wizarding War, he and his sister were sent by their parents to Boston for protection, where they lived with their uncle.

The twins had a charmed, seemingly perfect fairy-tale childhood. Their mother stayed home with them while their father worked. They lived in a comfortable cottage on an idyllic estate paid for by their father's family money. They did, however, have to hide Olivia's parentage from the straight-laced, supposedly pure-blooded Oliver family in order to not be cut off. The Olivers didn't so much mind her being American, but they would not have tolerated her being a muggle-born.
Owen and Cordi spent the first part of their lives inseparable from each other, so when they got to Hogwarts it was quite a shock to be split into different houses. At the time, they both could have survived in either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, but as they grew, they began to form their own independent selves that exemplified the houses they'd been sorted into.
The Second Wizarding War was trying for their family. Their mother was outed as muggle-born, and they were sent to Boston to protect them from the Death Eaters. There, they lived with their uncle Freddie and their maternal grandparents. They also lived without the magical society they had grown up surrounded by. Their paternal extended family shunned them and their father, and even tried to kill their mother. To distract himself from the war, Owen decided to complete the training of an animagus. He did so in Salem, Massachusetts, under the guidance of his uncle's animagus friend. His animal form is an Asian Golden Cat like his patronus, and he's still trying to figure out what that means about him.
Although America was not without its interest, their return to the U.K. was greatly anticipated. Now, they have to pick up the remains of their lives and try to keep their fractured family together.
