"Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!" squeals out Eterna as she flies around the Great Hall, adding to my already pulsing headache. 'Why do I put up with her again?' I wonder as a pretty blonde gets sorted into Ravenclaw. Knowing I got awhile to wait I begin thinking on my next summon pattern for my lizards. 'Hmm, maybe if I were to give them colors based off of the houses it might work out, but what if I gave them the ability or trait of their representative house, I wonder how I ca-' my train of thought is interrupted as I finally hear my name get called out. 'Well here goes nothing,' I say confidently to myself as I begin my walk to the stool. Just in time for Eterna to come ramming into me and give me a tight hug causing to cuss, "Dammit, la gå deg blodig jente!" She replies quickly and flies off laughing. 'I swear she will be the death me of one day,' I mutter to my self as I take my seat on the stool and the darkness the of the oversize hat envelopes me. I jump as I hear a voice talk to me, but relax when I realize its the sorting hat, "Hmmm, very intresting. A sharp mind, a thirst for knowledge and a desire to prove yourself. But where to put you. A cunning mind as well and oh my very interesting, though you got a ways to go for your mind to be strong, but yours will do at the time, yes better be.....' Thinking the hat hat is going to take forever I begin to hum a song to myself; 'Åh, du skitne skitten lue, skynd deg og tenke, før jeg bruker du en skrape innlegget, og når din pumpet opp, vil jeg kaste deg i ilden, så jeg kan være varm hele natten.' Just as I finish the song he shouts out. "SLYTHERIN!" Letting out a small chuckle and a sly smile I rise from the stool and handing the hat back to the small professor, I then head off to take my seat with my fellow Slytherins amongst green and silver. 'That would be an interesting color for a lizard.' I then enjoy whats left of the sorting and wait for the food to appear. Once it does I begin to eat, complaining mentally that there is no Norwegian food.

I had been so excited that I was going to Hogwarts, but now I'm a bit...disappointed. What is this? Everyone's wearing plain black robes and uniforms, there's no individuality anywhere! And we aren't allowed in the forest either? I rolled my eyes as the Headmistress told us to behave and not break any rules, what were we supposed to do then? Sit down and listen quietly? I don't think so. A few people seem interesting I suppose, but they're far from my place in line, and there's no point introducing myself. I saw a small blonde girl get up and get sorted into Ravenclaw, before turning my attention back to myself. I started fiddling with my pendant, smirking lightly at the few kids who stared confusedly at me. Ah kids, so much fun, so much fun. Maybe this place won't be so bad, after all I can mess with all the little innocents here, oh what fun, what fun! I heard my name being called, so I looked up blankly, staring at the small man looking for me, a bit panicked. I strolled up to him and sat delicately on the stool, my robes swishing dramatically behind me. I heard the grumbles from a few students about me being 'a stupid show-off' and smirked, clearly they hadn't figured out how to handle theirs yet. So medieval I thought, picking at my robe sleeve distastefully, before looking ahead and smirking again as the hat dropped down to cover my face. A voice chuckled and I gave an inward start, before realizing that the hat been imbued with sentiment and powerful magic, making it animated. "How interesting, you certainly have a logical sort of mind don't you?" I tilted my head gently before nodding gently.
'How can I not, with all the grief in this world.' I thought, before letting the hat continue on it's tirade.
"Hush, you! Let an old hat think, hmm... You're certainly loyal enough for Hufflepuff.. but your trust issues would make it nearly impossible for you to accomplish your goals in that house... You're brave enough for Gryffindor certainly, and you have no problem helping others out, but you insist on them paying you back in some way. A trait that would not be well received in that house... You're more than smart enough for Ravenclaw, but your lack of passion for learning itself without the motive of revenge would make that house impossible for you. Not to mention they're far to unsociable for you to make connections there...Slytherin would suit you fine though, your cunning, perhaps to ambitious for your own good, and you'll go to any means to achieve what you want...Yes, I think Slytherin, don't you?"
I chuckled lightly, 'So I get a choice?'
"Not at all, not at all." It whispered into my mind, before shouting loudly, "SLYTHERIN!" as I went to pick it off my head, it said "Good luck achieving your goals child." I laughed lightly, a genuine smile lighting up my face.
'Thank you Mr. Hat, thank you.' I heard it laugh as I finished pulling it off my head and passed it to the small professor. Before swirling dramatically towards the table overshadowed by green and silver banners. My smile slipped down to a slight grin, my eyes tightening calculatingly, as I stared at the table clapping loudly. I sat down in a place by the end of the table, a chatty older student to my left, an empty spot to my right. I would have scooted down another seat to avoid the ceaseless chatter, but she had latched her attentions onto me now, and all I could do was sit still and nod occasionally, giving a smile when she asked for my opinion. When the food finally came I was relieved, and began piling a small amount of food onto my plate. Now entirely ignoring the people around me. All that mattered now was the food, and my plans to conquer my relatives. That doesn't mean I didn't look around a bit, a boy with long hair nearby who seemed to be contemplating something. Ah well, what he does is his business, as long as he stays out of mine.

vehemence feelings of fear and excitement ricocheted from one wall of the great, to the other. small whispers escaped pubescent lips, almost as if they had been attempting to fill the eery silence that occasionally engulfed the room. one by one a child was called forth, followed by a decision of one's future. cheers of acceptance came in small bursts as each house gained a new token to claim as its own. yet, throughout all the events that took place she stood there, as still as stone. her eyes gazed before her; both hands hung loosely to her sides, only moving when another child would ever so lightly bump her while passing by; and her feet planted themselves to the ground, much like the stance of a pigeon. the longer she stood in place, the deeper she began to drifted from reality - her imagination dancing into many places of the unknown.

"UDESULINE NA'BADRA" a voice rang out, bursting through her daze like a finger to a fragile bubble. she blinked, unsure for a moment of what to do. "huh? oh.. right. my apologies." she piped, now aware that many eyes were in her direction as she began to gracefully make her way up the few steps that seperated her from the cap. her heart skipped a beat, as it touched her head. "aaah yes, there is no doubt about this one." it hissed. "SLYTHERIN!" and, within moments it was removed. she stood infront of the crowd as they clapped and motioned her over, yet she continued to remain in place for a few seconds longer. "as it should be." she muttered to her self, and then off she went to join the rest - her eyes scanning the many faces around her, as she sat. although it hadn't felt like it just yet, this was now her new home. something certainly unfamiliar.

Dinner was a strange experience to say the least, I had to keep sneaking food for Eterna, so she could eat. I just hoped no one noticed. After all it is a little disconcerting if you see food just vanish in thin air. "My fellow Slytherins, seem rather pretty, though the one with white seems a bit.....flamboyant to me, though the other one, the strawberry blonde seems rather distant," I think to myself as I continue to eat and feed Eterna. You just try to resist those eyes and you will fail miserably, especially when it comes to chocolate. Once I have had my fill of both dinner and dessert, I along with my house are then dismissed to bed. Following my fellow first years with the prefect, I seem to have wound up between both the white haired and strawberry blonde girl, I get the feeling I'm being looked at by some of the boys. Its times like this I hate my hair, but I will never cut or allow to be damaged. Yet because of both its length and health, I'm always mistaken for a girl and I have a feeling getting into the male dorms is gonna be an interesting conversation. Though I am glad to learn that due to some slight changes throughout the last few years, allowed all students their own room, but they are not allowed a password, but allowed a key for our room, though the prefect tells us the males are on the left and the girls on the right and that are showers in each room. Once he had finished explaining the that he told us that are rules are to be in the common room by seven each night and we are allowed to stay awake until eleven at night. We also seem to have meetings with our head of house every month as a way to see how we are adjusting and to make sure we are doing well in our classes. I have a feeling that transfiguration is going to be my best. Once he finishes he heads off on hos own way. Feeling ever the polite one I introduce myself to the girls that are still between me, "excuse my ladies, but allow me to introduce myself. My name is Zed Yggdrasil Xavier, may I inquire as to your own names?" I say politely as hold out my hand to take their own in introduction. I mentally curse myself, for my voice holds a very feminine tone to it. I of course notice that Eterna went straight to where my room was and closing the door behind her, I make a mental note to myself, 'I need to find a way to keep Night in there, I don't need his mischief going throughout the school.'

throughout most of dinner she just sat motionless, never making a peep. her appetite was none existent, and her mind often wandered. as the rest of the house stood from their places to be escorted to their housing, she strolled alongside the rest. she could often hear the snickering of boys, behind her, though she tried to pay little attention. they were poking fun at a boy, that stood next to her. "he looks like a girl," she heard one chuckle as they rounded a corner - her eyes rolling toward the back of her head. at first glance, he might have been mistaken for a female, but by close observation she could see that he took much pride in his hair, and for that she respected him. after all, it was very nice to look at. soft and silky, it looked. she watched it sway at he walked - back and forth. it took a lot of strength to stray from the idea of touching it, it drew her in with each swish of the wind.

as they entered the commons she stopped, slowly taking everything in as she looked about. a painting of a woman pouring water from a jug, caught her attention for a few moments before she heard a voice speak up. it was the boy with beautiful hair, from before. udesuline grew red in the face, for she felt almost embarrassed. she had hoped that he hadn't seen her staring so intensely at him earlier, and was relieved when he was just simply introducing himself. "ah, of course." she said with a small heart warming smile, the first since she arrived. "i am udesuline. na'badra.. udesuline na'badra." she stopped for a moment, there was a slight awkwardness in the way she had worded that. but, she brushed it off. "it's a pleasure to meet you, zed." growing silent as she waited for his response, unsure of what to say next. usually she just remains silent and observed the world from a safe distance, but today felt different. new, if you will. the fact that others were willing to go out of their way to get to know others was oddly inspiring, in a way. acceptance and comfort were two things she lacked in her life.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Udesuline. I hope we can become good friends in time. And my door will be open for you if need help with school work," I say as I take her hand in my and lightly kiss the knuckles, as I result I can smell the vast amount of herbs that are present on her skin, it smells....pleasant. However I feel a cold shiver un down my spine as I look to my door I see Eterna glaring at me, but her face is rather sleepy. 'She always falls asleep fast and does this,' though the opened door allows Night to wander out. "Uh, oh," I say out loud as I see some fellow house mates trying to pet him, but he dodges them easily and lets out an angry meow for every attempt. He comes straight up to me and places his ruby gaze straight at me. "Night, må du alltid be om streng og behandler," I say to him in my native tongue. He just meows happily, with what passes for a smile to a cat. Sighing I reach into my pocket and pull out a long string with a bit of food from the Great hall attached to it. "Her, bare ikke choke og holde seg unna trøbbel," I say again as i give him his treat, he quickly snatched it away and begins his happy playtime and treats with the string. Looking back to Udesuline, "sorry about that, he just tends to be a troublemaker, so it will make for an intresting year with him, unless there are more troublesome cats like him." I indicate the couches nearby so that we may while we talk, since we have at least an hour before our curfew. Taking a seat I let out a groan of discomfort, "these are way too soft for me, but I'll survive for now," I grumble as I then look back at Undesuline, "so what classes do you look forward to? I personally can't wait for both charms and transfiguration."

As we walked down to our common rooms, I found myself walking near a girl with long blonde hair, not that she noticed. She seemed to be looking at the boy with long hair I noticed earlier. I was fine with that, it let me do my own thinking, like how my horse back home was probably suffering because of those idiots I'm forced to live with... Soon we were in our common room, and were being assigned personal ones, it'd be nice to have my own room, one that's larger than my old one. 'My house mates don't seem so bad either' I thought as the long haired boy from earlier, whose name was apparently Zed, began to introduce himself. As the blonde stuttered over her own name, I chuckled quietly, 'Look's like things are going to start getting entertaining round here!'. I kept a grin on my face, as the boy grumbled about his seat, but sat down anyways. I took a seat on a couch a few seats away. "Potions for me. And you can both call me Aer, I suppose if you must. Us first years should stick together." Turning my attention to Undesuline for her answer, and placing my hands in my robe pockets, and trying to ignore the feelings of curiosity and contempt I could feel wafting from the upper class men, trying to clear my mind and focus on the two before me.

"Leah Woodwind," the Professor called. I hesitated, but I made my way up to the talking hat, sat down and the hat was placed on my head. "Oh, well hello there. This is going to be tough...." It didn't speak for a whole minute, then said. "I choose to put you in.... Slytherin!" The whole Slytherin table cheered as I came and sat down next to a few guys.
"Hello there, I'm Draco Malfoy." I smiled. "I know, we spoke on the train. Remember?" Draco smiled and nodded. "Ah, yes. Now I remember. Leah Woodwind."

As we all ate dinner, I continued to sneak food for Shadow. I didn't care if anyone saw me or not, I just needed to feed him. As I was about to feed him chicken, he wandered somewhere else, to the girl sitting next to me. "Shadow!" I hissed. Shadow saw the food in my hand and trotted to me. "Good boy," I whispered, stroking his head. I glance at the girl, then I nudge Draco. "Hey Draco, who is she?" I pointed at the girl next to me. "I don't know. Why don't you ask for her name."
"No! Me and other girls don't get along well..." I hissed quietly. "Oh, okay then." He says, continuing to eat. I chuckled and nudged him. "Hey Draco," He looked at me. "What is it Leah?"
"Um... I just wanted to say that..." I could feel my face turn red. "I'm glad that you wanted to be my friend, even though you barely know me..." Draco smiles. "No problem Leah. And I don't mind that I barely know you. When I first saw you, you seemed nice enough to be friends with." I smiled at him like I would do any other friend. It was very hard to see Draco smile, that has to be the first time I've seen him smile to me personally.
"Meow," Shadow meowed, wanting attention. "Urg," I pick him up and put him in my lap. "Spoiled cat..." Draco looked down and saw my cat. "Leah, you know you're not supposed to take you pets to the table." I shrugged "So, I mean, I need to feed him and he won't eat cat food." Draco nods, understanding.
