~History~
Matilda was born into a fairly average family. Though she was the only child, she still didn't have much attention from her parents. Her mother was sick with cancer in the hospital for a few years until she died, leaving Matilda living with her abusive father. He always treated her like shit, not caring about her feelings. Because of this Matilda grew up, having a hard time trusting anyone and letting them into her life. On the outside she looks so hard, so tough, like nothing could hurt her. But deep down, that was far from who she truly was. Deep inside she is very sensitive, nothing more than a normal girl who wants someone to love her just as much as she loves them. The only problem is, that she's terrified of falling in love, being committed.

So begins...

Matilda was so excited to be starting her first day at Hollywood Arts. She dressed in a black, jean skirt that stopped just above her knees with a pair of black fishnets underneath, her pair of ankle length boots, and a purple tank top with a leather jacket over her arms, being sure that her wrists were completely covered. She didn't need people asking her about her marks on her wrists, especially on the first day. That would just ruin her reputation forever, besides, it was just best to keep that to herself.

Matilda parked her vehicle in the student parking lot and grabbed her purse and backpack from the passenger seat before climbing out of the vehicle and locking it up. She let out a fresh breath, calming herself down. Yes, she was just as nervous as she was excited, but she knew she needed to keep herself calm. "Hello, Hollywood Arts," she stated aloud to herself as she then began to take her first step towards the building. She glanced around the campus, taking in every aspect of it. Everything here was much more different than it was back at her old high school, Crespi High.

There was a food truck on campus and a coffee shop. She knew she would enjoy the rest of her high school career here, even if she ends up not having any friends. If she ends up having nothing but enemies, at least she would have some people to mess with when she needed to get some anger out of her system. Matilda sighed as she took her first step inside the building and began looking around for her locker.

Adam stepped out of the car, and grabbed his bag from the back before his eyes returned to lock on the daunting campus. A new chapter was to begin here and he hoped to maintain his optimism. He had earned his place here. It was going to be a fun, exciting, new experience , he reminded himself.
His mother ran out from around the car disturbing his thoughts and embraced Adam tightly. “I’m so excited for you.” She drew back to look at him and her smile was genuine and contagious.“You’re going to be great, I know it. Now, before I embarrass you too much I just want to say, be yourself, be good. You can call anytime. And we love you very much.”
Tempted to comment on how cheesy it was and correct her words, he bit the temptation back so as not to ruin the mood. “I love you too,” he said and they embraced again. She blew him a kiss and waved as Adam slowly headed for the building. For as long as he attended Hollywood Arts, he would live closer by with his cousin and miss his mother dearly. But it was good practice for college, he supposed.

His feet had dragged him to the building absent mindedly and he swung open the door then paused near the entrance realizing he hadn’t a clue where to go. He reached into his bag and found the re-opened envelope containing a welcoming to the school; welcome, congratulations, general rules, blah, blah and the information sheet that had his locker, the code and his timetable on it. The next problem quickly occurred which was the navigation of the campus. Adam blew out his lips in defeat, having to look the part of the new nerd that didn’t want to encounter any errors as he brought out the map of the campus.

Worse yet, he followed it cautiously too. He’d walk down the hall and every intersection or turn available he’d pause, glance up, look back to the map, make sure they matched and continue walking. He was pleased to find the directions he followed were not false as he reached his locker. He sighed out dramatically in relief and rested his head on it, closing his eyes for a moment. “Thank God.”

As she continued walking through the halls, she couldn't help but to remember that she had received a map of the school and the campus. With a sigh she pulled her bag around to the front of her as she continued walking, mindlessly not paying attention as to where she was going. As she rounded a corner, she found herself bumping into someone and being pushed to the ground. "Watch where you're going new kid!" the male stated to her before walking off, not even caring to help her pick up her things and see if she was alright.

Matilda sighed and clenched her fists together, trying to keep herself calm. It was the first day, she didn't need to start any fights. If her parents found out she got into a fight on the first day of school, she would immediately be transferred back to her old school and everything she worked for would have been for nothing.

Of course she knew that the collision between the male and herself had been mostly her fault because she hadn't been watching where she was going, but she just shrugged it off. She immediately began to gather her things and slid over to the wall and leaned against it as she continued looking through her bag for the map she was given. After a few moments she realized she didn't have it with her. "Damn it," she mumbled to herself as she brought her head back, finding that she brought it back too hard and slammed it on the brick wall. "Ow! Just when I thought the day couldn't have gotten any worse," she once again mumbled to herself.

As she sat upon the floor, against the brick wall, she glanced through the hall hoping that she could find her locker. That information she luckily had with her, the map wasn't as important though it could have been of great help. Not only was she the new kid, but she was also lost in a huge school that had many halls and rooms. This place was gigantic compared to her old school. Matilda really needed to get her act together and figure out a way to find her way around the school so she can get to the office and retrieve another map.

Adam had to calm down and stop thinking so much on first impressions and what others thought of him as he glanced to his wrist watch checking the time in paranoia. A part of him demanded he not be late, but another part of him compensated saying it was okay to soak the new environment in and be a little late. After all it might just be the only time he got away with it because he was new.

He threw his bag into his locker and drew out his timetable to see where he was next heading but what he saw was not what he had enrolled for. His brows pulled together with a light pout before he sighed to himself and consulted the map again, this time to find the office and discuss the error. He closed his locker and headed for the detour.

The office was apparently near the entry to the building so Adam tried his best to retrace his steps without glancing at the map as much and moved with more haste. It didn't last long before he had to surrender to glance to his hand that held the map again, and in those few seconds of a glance, his feet had made contact with someone’s legs causing him to stumble a little. Adam quickly spun around to see the girl sitting on the floor against the brick wall. “I am so sorry! I didn’t even see you!” He moved to a sort of crouch, hovering his hands by her making sure she was okay. Not that it had been that hard, more of a nudge but it certainly wasn't good of him to kick her and keep going. “I’m sort of a mess at the moment. I’m really nervous about being here,” he told her and smiled a little. “I’m Adam.” He held out his hand for a shake.

Matilda sighed as she felt another person run into her, thankfully it wasn't as hard as the other guy was. Just as she was about to snap at the person, she was cut off by him apologizing. The female held her words and glanced up at him, noticing that he was beginning to crouch down beside her. She felt a little awkward that someone she didn't know was this close to her, but she was in no mood to start any drama. All she wanted to do was get to the office and find her locker. "I'm Matilda," she responded, giving a fake smile. She didn't need him to know that something was wrong, especially since she hadn't known the guy. Though she couldn't lie, this Adam was very attractive.
