a character in “Home is Where the Heart Monitors Are”, as played by **Ava**

Liana Amelia Allred

Name: Liana or Li
Occupation: patient with Hemophilia
Age: 19

Personality: Clingy, stubborn, loving. those are the three words most associated with Liana around the hospital, here stupid home away from home. So yes, Liana is clingy. When you first meet this this she will latch onto you, despite any hints for her to go away she wants nothing more then to spend time with you and get to know you and your life. Maybe sometimes it can be a little bit much, annoying, as one may say. That's just to bad though, fortunately for you Liana is constantly getting dragged back to her room by nurses for daily check ups. Which leads us to the next topic. Liana is stubborn, terribly stubborn. When she was a few years younger and her hormones got to her Liana was not afraid to through a tantrum in hospital cafe, foyer, hallway, or her room, if she wasn't getting what she'd like, which usually wasn't much, nothing more then wanting to go outside. When nurses call Liana back to her room they may often pray she is in the mood to come. If she's not in the mood then getting dragged away by one of the stronger nurses becomes the only other option. She's stubborn in changing her mind, her ideas, her religious views, her habits. It's just apart of her you might say. Now the last big quality is loving. Liana could be one of the most loving people you have ever met. She cares so much about you! Even though you may not have even met her yet. Liana would love to volunteer in the kids wing if she ever got the chance. She's still working on persuading the nurses to let her go read stories to the younger disease victims. If you ever need a shoulder to cry on Liana is a great person to go to. She's a great listener and is very understanding. She's also very good at giving advice and thinks counseling could be a career in her future.

+happiness in the air
+being around other people
-stand offish people (people who don't say hi back to her)
-being ignored (not feeling loved back)
-being nonproductive
-making people cry

Background: Liana grew up in the big city of New York. She doesn't get to go back often, always being stuck at the hospital. Liana was diagnosed with Hemophilia when she was two. And though she hates to think about it, it has become the center of her life. She can't recall a day with out having a bruise on her body (Not the normal kind of bruise you get from falling to the ground it's more of giant bloody band that wraps around your leg, or arm, or waist and it hurts so bad), or seeing blood coming off her skin. Liana's mother failed to take her to the doctor for the first few weeks the bruises became really bad and the bleeding obsessive. And that's where Liana's grandmother comes into play. Liana was taken from her mom and soon Liana's mother was given custody. From then on it was just Liana and her grandma. That's the way she prefered it, and rarely speaks of her mother. Together Liana and her grandma went in and out of the hospital, day after day, year after year, hand in hand, best friends. Her grandmother lives back in there house and now that Liana is 19 she takes care of herself most of the time. And receives less frequent visits from her grandma. She doesn't mind it though. At least she has friends here. The people she's known her entire life almost. The kids at school never bothered including her in anything. It probably didn't help that they would make bets on wether she would come to school or not. Liana was determine to graduate high school and, 3 months later then normal she did. Maybe some day she will get to go to college and is seriously considering a career in child counceling. But until then she's just here. Trying to make it through life. One single day at a time.

So begins...
