Jeremiah was offended by the older male's comment about his face being girlish. He frowned, hoping his expressions would convey what words couldn't. Or at least, words he didn't understand.
The talk continued as the group planned out their great escape plan. Apparently Issac would be cross dressing in addition to himself. Wait, when did I agree to this? he thought before his attention turned to the male, unwilling to shave his facial hair. Maybe Jeremiah shouldn't be that unhappy. Afterall, he'd never had much facial hair and that proved to be paying off right now. He couldn't help but wonder why Issac was so attached to it though. Was that unhealthy?
His mind drifted to the face of his eldest brother, the one who left that ugly scar in his forearm. He had been lucky getting out of that fire quickly... Fire. Didn't the Titanic catch on fire while it sank? Jeremiah clenched his fists and leaned against a table. Anything but fire...
Jeremiah pretended to cast his gaze downward towards the floor. However, it was only an act to hide his true intentions. He was hoping that he had a long sleeved shirt on, to hide his scar. He didn't need or want people asking or knowing about it. The memory was still a painful one, a defining moment in his life. To his relief, he was indeed wearing a thick cotton long sleeved shirt.
His gaze slowly drifted back up, eyes falling on the others. He had not taken much time to observe them, and in doing so now he found that Oliver and Issac were obviously uncomfortable with each other. Jeremiah hardly knew why, but he could tell by the tense look on Issac's face and in his tone when he addressed the other man. The girls meanwhile were acting as the peacemakers, particularly Carrie, who seemed to have some control over Issac. He wondered what their relationship was. Were they siblings?
Jeremiah continues to stand in silence, unable to contribute much. He just wanted off this boat before it sank or caught fire- preferably not the latter if it could be helped. While the group was worried about dressing them as girls, he thought it would be best to just take a lifeboat and run. Well, row.
