✖ Personality ✖: When Greyson decides how to move forward in a situation, he looks to honor beauty, morality and virtue – he is led by the purity of his intent, not rewards and punishments. He’s a good man with a heart a little too soft and timid. And while he may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, Greyson has an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. When it comes to singing, song-writing, and composing Torn Sheets songs along with his bandmates, all the introvertism leaves his body. Music brings out that confident and charismatic self-deep within him. Understanding himself and his place in the world is important to Greyson, and he explores these ideas by projecting himself into his music. Greyson’s ability with language doesn’t stop with his native tongue, either – he is considered gifted when it comes to learning a second (or third!) language (he knows Korean, Japanese, and English.) However, Greyson is not extraverted! And so concerts or performances not only fulfill him, but tire him out.
When it comes to social interaction, Greyson tends to focus his attention on just a few people, a single worthy cause - spread too thinly, he’ll run out of energy, and even become dejected and overwhelmed by all the bad in the world that he can’t fix. If he is not careful, Greyson can lose himself in his quest for good and neglect the day-to-day upkeep that life demands. Some days he becomes heavily depressed with expectations not met by the world, or expectations he hasn’t met about himself. Left unchecked, he may start to lose touch, withdrawing into "hermit mode", and it can take a great deal of energy from his bandmates to bring him back to the real world. Under great deals of stress, he becomes snappy and dislikes people invading his space greatly.
However, around his bandmate he is very warm, motherly, and takes a hobby in teasing his bandmates. They are all like brothers to him.
✖ Background Before the Band ✖: When Greyson first started getting into music in middle school, taking up the guitar, his parents came down on him about it every day. His studies slowly began sinking as his guitar skills sky rocketed. He was a natural. On nights his parents thought he was studying late at school, he’d chill out in the music room strumming the guitar till his fingers bled and calloused.
When he got into high school, he gave up entirely on grades. He saw no point in doing something against his passion. He knew what he wanted to do. There was no other choice for him. But his parents disagreed. One night at dinner, Greyson told them he was going to drop out of school and the next words that came out of his parent’s mouths changed his life. They said if he dropped school, then he wasn’t there son and should pack up his bags and go. The next morning, he did just that. Each day was about finding some friends couch to sleep on, or work through a friend to find a friend of theirs to spend the night at. That didn’t last long though, once his childhood friend and bandmate at the time (he was better at keeping his grades up than Greyson and working on music) found out about it he was dragged into his grandparents’ home with him. Living off of music on his own would have been hard if it wasn’t for his childhood friends grandparents supporting him, especially with just his guitar. Greyson sang here and there in the past, but always aspired to meet another singer and compose guitar riffs alongside them. But life didn’t follow his plans, and in order to earn enough cash or get gigs, he took up singing his own songs. He didn’t want to be a bother to his friends Grandparents, and half of what he earned he gave to them.
Through his connections with couch surfing and frequent visit to bars where he liked to gamble, Greyson got gigs. And the crowds loved him. And it lit his blood on fire. Singing in front of an audience was like being intoxicated by drugs, or hung over by alcohol. It got him high in a sense. It’s the one place where who he is within is allowed to come out and be accepted. It was during this time he met a girl, a very lovely girl who pursued him first. She brought him gifts. Texted him every morning and every night. He called her every night before bed and talked to her for hours. She brought him dinner and tea to warm the throat before a performance if he forgot. On lazy Sundays they hung out at her house watching chick flicks on her couch with one arm around her. Every moment with her was sweet, passionate, and lovely. He wrote love songs about her, cooked breakfast for her when he spent the night at her house. When she faced a mental break-down he rushed to her after work or when she needed him. But everything ended when she had to go back to China. She broke up with him although he wanted to try doing long-distance with her until he was able to go be with her in China. And yet she said no. Called him selfish, that he only talked to her when she needed him, and was too busy doing his own little thing with music to look at her. Plus, she couldn’t rely on him to make enough income to support them both. And she left just like that, already over him, like all he did for her meant nothing.
During this devastating time, he hit an all-time low. He sunk into heavy drinking that drove his friend on edge, and to this day Greyson still has no idea why he gets so sensitive about his drinking—he isn’t hurting anyone but himself. By this time, Greyson would have been out of high school (and Akira in) and before they knew it, the two had begun working on music each second of the day when Akira wasn't working on school work. They also moved out of their Grandparents house and got their own one-bedroom apartment once Akira graduatred. With only one bed the two often slept together, or Greyson hitched himself comfortably on the couch when he felt his space being infringed upon. It didn’t take long before the two got scouted by PURENESS&Smile INC since Greyson already had a reputation on his own due to the four years he spent doing gigs and concerts when he could.
✖ THEIR Description of the Band they are in ✖: "The band is my one and only family..Both of us have our part and each one is important. Without him, I don't know where I'd be right now. Although I am the oldest, it feels like I'm the one always being taken care of. Sometimes I get in these...dark moods, and having brothers around like Aki-kun to knock some sense into me and give me a reality check is...nice. Although, I am like his mother when it comes to cooking and cleaning up his messes [sighs]."
