Description

Dani Leiber

Image

Age
18

Gender
Female

Species
Werewolf

Personality
Dani is generally quiet in public. She will respond if spoken to, but she doesn't usually start conversations. Dani does as she's told with the understanding that she will be fed and housed.

Appearance
Dani stands at 5'6" and weighs around 114 lbs. She is very thin with fair skin nearly stretched over her bones. Her hands are often described as small and petite. The nails on the tips of her fingers are always kept short and painted black. The eyeliner on her eyes runs all the way to each corner on the bottom and top eyelids with mascara on the top lashes. Even though she has a clear face, she likes to apply a light amount of foundation on it. She uses light pink lip stick and lightly dabs it on her lips to give it that light color without it looking too bold. Her cheekbones are high enough that she only adds a small amount of blush to them to bring out that beautiful feature in her. As for her hair, she has it cut shorter in the back and longer in the front. She has long legs and a small frame to work with. As a wolf, she is about average size with light brown fur.

Integra rolled the fork in his hand carefully while chewing his food. The egg was good, tasting of herb and spice he had cooked it with, flavor added from whatever oil he had fried it in. He liked to savor his meals, and thoroughly enjoy the taste. After a moment, he placed the fork on the plate, carefully swallowing his food. "I'm not sure i understand it." He shook his head "It is beyond me."

"Well...?" Integra prompted. "What do you think? Am i a good cook?"

Dani enjoyed her egg and carefully rested her fork on her plate. She offered a small smile. "It was great. I enjoy your cooking. Thank you for cooking for me," she said with a slight nod.

Dani shivered a bit. She took a quick look at her arm and looked back up. Goosebumps had formed on her skin. Her eyes fell on her empty plate as she forced herself to ignore the cold air. It's not that bad. I should be used to it. She looked at Integra to see if he displayed any signs of being cold.

Integra smiled at Dani warmly "You look cold" he walked a bit closer towards her and pecked her on the cheek, like he had done so often this day. He grabbed her hand and pulled her with him as he walked into the manor.
I know theres a fireplace somewhere in here
I dont normally think about temperature...

They came upon a large wing of the house fitted with a gothic fireplace. Integra smiled "I remember seeing a chimney, but i never actually got around to looking for why." Integra looked towards Dani and asked "Do we have any firewood lying around the house?"

Dani lightly blushed as she always did when Integra kissed her cheek. She did not expect him to grab her hand and lead her to a fireplace. She smiled. He never took note of the fireplace? How odd.

Dani suddenly looked a little embarrassed. "I... there is some in the storage closet... this way," she said and started walking in the direction of the storage closet. Dani had explored the house a bit. There were some areas that she hadn't been, but she at least knew there was a storage closet with firewood in it. She stopped in front of the closet door when she came to it and opened it. As she already knew, the firewood was there. She picked up a couple logs and carried them back to the fireplace.

Integra took the kindling from his canine, and he couldnt help but laugh at the sight of a small girl holding firewood. The solid oak made a heavy noise against the solid granite fireplace. He quickly set about getting the fire to start, fumbling with matches here and there and soon the fire was lit. Integra turned about, and sat down in front of the fire. "Thank you..." His voice was hesitant, soft against the heavy wind still roaring outside. He cleared his throat and spoke slightly louder "Thank you for being here and, you know... guarding my body. Haha..." Integra looked into the distance for a bit.

What... Do i say here?
I could...
But that would be weird
Wouldnt it?

Integra frowned, pulling his hair loose, he laid back, lying on the floor, this room was a solid oak wood floor. Odd that he should have floored a fireplace with oak wood. His head made a curious noise as it dropped onto the floor. "I don't know Ms. Dani Lieber" Integra's pale hands rose to cover his eyes, making the world appear dark to him "No one can know in this world anymore."

Dani sat down by the fireplace and let Integra take over. Her eyes never left the small flame the match produced. It wasn't small much longer as it met the logs of dry wood. A calm smile appeared on her face. Candles, fireplaces, sources of personal controlled fire were calming to her. She sat and stared at the fire.

Dani noted Integra after he took his seat on the ground in front of the fire as well. His voice seemed to start out weak as he began to say something. She looked at him out of the corner of her eyes. Then he cleared his throat and his voice seemed to find its strength again. She nodded slightly in response. It did not seem appropriate to speak right then. His mind seemed to be working at further words. She waited.

Dani assumed he had changed his mind about further expressing any thoughts. She nibbled her lower lip as she thought of something to say. As she thought of what her response would be, Integra spoke again. He had laid down after letting his hair fall. She watched him as he lay there. "Are you okay?" she asked in a quiet and slightly concerned voice.

Integra stopped for a moment, he looked lost, he slowly began to talk, replying to Dani's comment "Well.... I... I think so. Im not really sure" He looked over to Dani, and put his hand on her. He was uncertain what to say next, so he just smiled politely at her. He laid his head on her lap again, exhaling briefly. "Im not really the best at expressing myself" Integra continued on.

His pale hands dug into her side, his arms thrown around her so that he may lay on her. Such a curious relationship he had with her He reached for her hand, cradling it in his, feeling the small wolfs fingers interlock with his. She smelled odd, not quite like a human but certainly not as he would expect a dog to smell. He laughed to himself. "Youre a good dog" He repeated, more to himself then anyone.

Dani looked down at Integra with curious eyes. He must not be very good at expressing himself. He hardly ever tells me what he's thinking. She felt it was her duty to look out for his well-being though, so she allowed him to rest his head in her lap and weave his fingers through hers. She released a soft sigh and used her free hand to rub his back. I guess if he's comfortable like this, I'll leave him.

Dani was still unsure of what to think. She was not used to much physical contact. It felt even more rare to receive the softer and friendlier type of contact. His last sentence caused her to smile yet again. "I'm glad you think so," was all she could think of to say.

Integra remained motionless for quite awhile. it has been so long since ive felt comfortable like this. I like this feeling. I like Dani's company. She was a good choice of... Companion Integra allowed himself to relax and before long he was spacing out, thousands of miles away. Thinking of other things. Integra was a prolific thinker, moments like this were not uncommon, but certainly not the normal for him

Integra finally broke free of his trance. His smooth voice a sharp contrast against the harsh night. "Dani," he paused, taking a moment to collect himself. "What was your old home like? You certainly couldnt have grown up like this. Tell me about your life..."

Dani felt a bit embarrassed when she realized she had been staring at Integra. He was quite an interesting being to her. She noticed that he hadn't blinked in a short while. He must be stuck in his own thoughts. He probably didn't notice that I was staring. She felt relieved at the thought.

However, when he came out of it, his next words came as a bit of a surprise to her. She looked down at him again. "My life..." she began, but couldn't help a small laugh, "was definitely different. I lived in a place with concretes walls and floors and bars as doors. I used to look forward to walks. People were paid to take us on walks. Anyone who tried to run away was beat because we had to learn to be obedient. Apparently we are worth a decent amount of money. That's all I ever heard the manager of the building talk about. Random people would come in sometimes. I found out through them that we were separated by age and gender. It was nice to have people walk through sometimes. I used to think it was normal to live the way I was living. Some of the humans that came through would bring in their son or daughter who they wanted protection for. They would take a look around and see which of us looked like they'd make a decent companion and guard. I was almost bought by a wealthy couple who had a daughter. She didn't talk to others much either. The girl was my age and she talked to me. I thought she enjoyed my company. She walked out the door saying she would tell her parents she wanted to take me home, but then she never came back and nothing changed," she explained. Dani didn't realize she had zoned out until she finished explaining her story. I didn't tell that very well. She looked at the fireplace to avoid looking at Integra.

The room was silent for awhile, the sound of harsh wind beating against the house met only by the crackle of oak burning in the hearth. Integra was thoughtful for a moment, his eyes twinkled as he thought about what he had been told. Finally he moved again, burying his face in Dani's lap, his muffled voice was barely audible "I'm sorry that happened." He was silent for a long time after this.

"You're a member of House Integra now..." His voice suddenly broke the silence, after a long still moment, breathing life into the lonely old house yet again. "As you will be until the day you die" This last part was said with odd intonation, as if he meant it to be consoling. He made no effort to move, choosing to hide himself in the comfort of another then to return himself to solitude.
I like having her here. What an a amusing thought; i should find solace in another. After another long and thoughtful moment, Integra spoke again. His eyes turned up towards Dani's delicate features. "Thank you..." His lone voice drifted across the manor, eerily well heard for the noisy night it had become.

Dani smiled to herself. A member of House Integra... until I die. I've got a forever home. She went back to rubbing Integra's back. "I guess I'm glad you said that..." she said quietly.

Dani could feel the warmth of the fire in the fireplace. She went silent and watched the flames. They lit up the room without causing it to be too bright. The whole room was dimly lit. She closed her eyes to enjoy the atmosphere in the room. Her eyes reopened when he thanked her. She looked down at him to see him looking at her. "I should be the one thanking you," she said and resisted the urge to lean down and hug him tightly. I always forget to say 'thank you'... She continued to look down at him as she thought about everything.

Integra's eyes sparkled up at Dani, his thoughts dancing before him as he admired her features. The fire continued to crackle, the roaring flames settling down into hot coals. His ears could pick up the faint whisper of the house settling, small creeks and groans that an old house is bound to have. Integra smiled haughtily. He began to laugh, eager to fill the silence. "You're a good girl Dani." He said again, not for the last time.

He continued to lay in Dani's lap, unwilling to break the contact he had. It was quiet, the fire was dying. He would have to rekindle it soon. i could lay here forever. Long after the flame has expired and the night has ended... Integra sat upright, carefully bringing himself up to Dani's height. He leaned towards her and whispered in her ear "Do you enjoy living here?" He kissed her on the cheek again, unsure of himself, knowing only that he enjoyed the act of kissing her.

Dani noticed the fire dying down. The storm outside seemed to be settling over the house. She wrapped her arms around herself. Integra's voice broke the silence again. He keeps telling me I'm good, but I haven't done anything. I don't understand...

Dani watched Integra sit up. He whispered in her ear and kissed her on the cheek. She gave him a confused look. "Of course I enjoy living here," she said. She thought of Liz for a moment. But I wonder what it would have been like had Liz taken me. Integra seems to need a companion though... What would he have done had he bought someone else? She shuddered at the thought. I like being here. I'm glad I didn't go home with Liz. She tightened her arms around herself and went back to staring at the fireplace.

Soft velvet lips touched Dani's hand. His thin pale fingers holding her hand, as he leaned back from kissing her hand. A quiet moment passed, the wind seemed silent, and the hot coals no longer crackling. Integra stood up abruptly, his long raven hair falling into his face, obscuring it from view. He shrugged his shoulders, letting his body slowly readjust to active movement. His knees bend, allowing him to pick up A large oak log. The gnarled wood is dry as a bone, and indicative of a long existence here before now. I suppose i have never lit this fire before. Integra set the wood in the fireplace, allowing the fire to grow and revive itself. He placed more oak into the hearth, almost to capacity, until the fire was roaring to life. Heat resonated off the hearth, filling the room and spreading deep into Integra's bones.

Integra's heels clicked as he walked away "I'll be right back" he told Dani as he disappeared into the large manor. His heels continued to click, resonating throughout the house, making him audible long after he was gone. Eventually the small noise disappeared into the night, swallowed whole by the sound of roaring flame and and battering wind. The flames danced in the hearth, seemingly energized by the absence of Integra, while The house creaked and groaned, as if the house itself were protesting these abhorrent conditions.

An around was removed from around her body as Integra kissed her hand. Dani watched him. Everything seemed to go quiet, which caused her to fully focus on him. He suddenly stood up. She remained sitting on the ground, but her eyes followed him as he filled the fireplace with wood again. The heat from the fireplace grew stronger as did the flame. She inhaled the scent of the burning wood. Dani had always liked the smell.

Dani watched Integra leave the room until he was out of sight. She kept note of him by the sound he produced walking on the solid floors. Her eyes watched the flames do their work. She moved herself closer to the fire and laid along the base of the fireplace. Her hands moved beneath her head so she had a softer surface to lay her head on. She could feel her body absorbing the heat. This is very comfortable. I've never had the benefit of having a fireplace to keep me warm.

Integra finally returned to the fire and his pet Dani. She was laying down now. He had made no noise coming back, having removed his shoes. Hmm... She is so small and fragile. A werewolf sure; but do people really put their well-being in the hands of people like her? His feet padded on the cold floor as he walked up behind her, feeling the roaring fire's heat more and more as he approached. The wind was still roaring, but Integra paid little attention to it.

"Tired?" He asked as he stoked the fire with an iron poker. Without waiting for a response he continued. "I suppose everyone grows tired. Werewolf or not." He rolled the poker in his hand. "They used to say that the fey feared iron, because it burned their skin." He sat down in front of Dani, his back to her stomach. "Do you believe in fairy tales Dani? Well... Youre a werewolf so i suppose that makes you a living fairy tale" his narrow face was looking down, stating at his extended feet, with a cover of long raven strands obscuring his vision.

Dani was startled when he first returned. She was used to being able to hear him walk around. He walked in and asked it she was tired, but when into talking about fey and other creatures. She snorted. "Vampires and werewolves? Sure. Fey? Other creatures? No."

The heat of the fire was beginning to fell too hot on her. Integra had decided to sit in front of her, so she felt obligated to stay where she was. I guess I will just have to deal with it. Dani stared straight in front of her, not really paying attention to anything in particular. "I'm not really tired by the way. I'm... comfortable. Part of me wants to be cold though..." She kept her eyes straight ahead and unfocused on anything. Her mind was in a few places. The more she thought, the more she started to wonder. "What time is it?" she asked.

Integra sat silent for a moment. Taking a deep breath. "Time?" His thin hands reached into his jacket, pulling an old-fashioned wind-up pocket watch from within. He clicked it open, the clasps smoothly opening despite its assumed age. The silver watch glinted against the harsh fire. "No clue. I forgot to wind my watch" he said shutting it with a decisive *click* Integra returned the pocket watch to his jacket, and sat for a moment longer.

"You said you wanted to be cold?" Integra cracked his hands against each other, taking great care to hear each individual joint pop. "The fire should burn out soon enough. " he leaned back, slowly, feeling his back on Dani's stomach. With a sudden burst of movement Integra's face was overing over Dani's, his knees on the fine flooring on either side of Dani, his hands rattling against the hard surface as his fingers drummed in rhythm. He leaned forward, slowly inching towards her. His lips met hers, and he kissed her. Integra stayed motionless for a split second, then with another blur he was standing upright again, in front of a dying fire of which only semi-heated coals remained. "But I suppose it is past time for me to retire. Wake me in the morning." Integra called callously over his shoulder as he began to walk callously away.

Dani sighed. I need to figure out how I can get outside. Maybe I can run the perimeter of the property. She felt the need to run or something. Anything to let her have a moment to be a wolf. Her hand went to her neck where she could feel the pendant on her skin. A small smile formed on her face.

Integra spoke again. She heard him crack his knuckles. He leaned back against her, but the next thing she knew, he was above her. She looked up at him, watching his face. Her heartbeat picked up. It was racing at this point. She watched his face grow closer to hers. Then he kissed her. It wasn't her cheek this time. He kissed her lips. There was a moment of still silence before he got up and walked out of the room like nothing happened, informing her that he was going to sleep and to wake him in the morning. She looked after him. Why...?

Dani glanced back at the fire. It was out. She sighed and walked to the base of the stairs. Her feet stopped there. I need to go outside. She turned away from the stairs and went to the back door instead. There, she took a moment to pause and listen for Integra in case he came back downstairs for anything. Then, she quickly and quietly opened the door. A blast of the cold night air hit her. She shivered, but continued to step outside. Right outside the door, she removed her clothing and shifted. The wind was much more tolerable with a thick fur coat around her. She took off into the rather large yard and ventured off the property a bit. She couldn't keep herself from exploring the area more.
