In the year 2043, Psychics are known by the public, and are made to look dangerous by the Government. The Government then hunts them down and "rehabilitates" them. There are few free Psychics left...and they are on the run...

Introduction

Dear Journal,

Let me tell you a story.

Ten years ago, the public and government learned about people with psychic powers. Since then, we have been on the run, or in hiding. The Government has painted us as threats to humanity, and that we need to be "rehabilitated". They also frame us for several terrorist actions, or at least that's what my family think. Some of us are considered more powerful then others or have more useful abilities, and are deemed "valuable". But we are all hunted. Some of the hunters are actually "rehabilitated" psychics, working as agents for The Department of Psychic Affairs, or DPA. We call it The Department. We do not know what they do in there to turn you, but anyone that leaves that place is completely obedient to the Government and the Department Manager.

But the Department has other tools in its inventory other then that. They also use these things called HVPRs, or High Velocity Pursuit Robots. They are extremely fast and agile robots that can go up to very high speeds. They are also equipped with an arsenal of weaponry. It is near impossible if not impossible to outrun them. The department also uses these things called Strider Mechs, a much larger mech that does more damage, has more weapons, but is not as fast. It is however tougher, and is capable of absorbing some psionic energy in any attacks against him, but not all of it.

They have taken so much from us already. The Department captured my mother years ago, and my oldest brother just over a year ago. My father, Jack, is still here, but he is sick with something, I suspect cancer. None of us think he is going to last long, even if he tries to hide it. Besides, we all know how dangerous the world is already. Everyday, we have to wonder if our brother or mother will come next, being the agents to bring us in. A confrontation none of us want.

Dad still thinks we need to learn a bit more self control though. Psychics have this inner feeling that makes them hate it when we don't use our powers in a long time. We can go a few hours or so just fine, but using our powers is sort of like an addiction I guess. Besides, it is just going to be us six soon. In order of age, it would be my oldest sister, then my second oldest brother, then my second oldest sister, then me, then my younger brother, then my younger sister, and the youngest. We are not the only ones like this we suspect. Who knows how many other psychic parents have given their lives away to defend their children?

Avory

The year is 2043. Psychics are hunted by the government and brought in to be "rehabilitated". They are made to look like dangerous people and terrorists to the public population. Some governments actually trade powerful Psychics with favorable abilities for resources on occasion. But no one looks for a cure. Oh no, to them, psychics are a resource and a tool. Something to be harnessed. There are still free psychics, on the run, wanting to stay free. But it is hard, and the hunters seem to always be able to find out where they go to.

The HVPRs (High Velocity Pursuit Robot)

Image

HVPRs are equipped with weaponry built into them. There is a rifle built into their left army, but it can retract to allow the use of both hands. HVPRs are also capable Hand to Hand fighters. They have some "Electro Darts" that can disable vehicles temporarily. Their plating allows defense agaisnt small arms fire, which is good sicne its really hard to hit them anyways.

The Psychics

Image

Psychics go under two main classes. Agents, and Runners. agents are the ones "owned" by the Department. Runners are the ones that are free. From thsoe groups, there are various powers that a psychic may have. To list a few...

Telekinesis: The ability to move stuff with your mind.

Booming: You cause a slight instability in an area, that instantly turns into an explosion in mid air.

Tracking: Allows you to see who has been where in an area in the past. However, you need to be focused on a certain amount of time ago or a certain time you want to check for it to work, as well as actually be in the physical location.

Sensing: The ability to sense other Psychics, animals, and people nearby.

Empathy: the sensing and feeling the emotions of others.

Energy Bolt: Lets you fire a psychic Bolt that has a lot of force and strength upon impact.

Energy Field: Projects an energy field to keep people out or in.

Paralytic Touch: When touching the target, you can stun them, making them unable to move or speak temporarily.

Pyrokinesis: The ability to create and control fire.

Shade: Creates a duplicate of yourself that you can control, but any pain that is done to it you will feel half of that and it will dispel.

Psionic Weapon: Creates a Basic Psionic Weapon, like a sword or a bow and arrows, to use against enemies.

Shadowwalk: Allows the person to temporarily bend the light around them. However, this takes a lot of concentration and energy to do. Can be used on others.

There is a lot more as well. Most psychics however only have 2-3 powers.

The Hunters have some sort of technology that helps make their psychic powers more powerful. Therefore, fighting an Agent is not an easy task. In order to fight them one on one, you would need to be extremely powerful, extremely skillful, or extremely lucky. And very few are any of those.

Other non Psychic hunters are equiped with their own cybernetic enhancements, only this tiem by choice. These elite few and extremely strong, tough, and fast. While not as good as "Rehabilitated Psychics", there are more of them, and they can be a threat in a one vs one battle anyways.

The Roleplay will start in a small town in the middle of the woods called Tranton.

(I don't know why, but my intro posts always seem to be abnormally long. But meh, abnormally long is fine!)

(Anyways, while we wait, everyone can post one intro post! :D)

"Dear Journal. I had the dream again. I don't know why I keep having it. I see my mom and my brother, standing with HVPRs and other Agents, hunting us. Then, they had dad captured, and he told me....he told me to give him mercy. Just like what he instructed me to do if he was ever going to be captured. And I did it. I miss both of them, my mom and my brother. But I know that when I see them again, they will try to hurt us, and take us away. And that's if they don't kill us while we resist. So, deep down, I never want to see them again, because of what is going to happen as a result.

I have been keeping up my skill in Archery. I have been seeing about using my telekinesis, to amplify the power of my arrows. the first few times did not really seem that effective, but the last few tries seemed to work really well. It's all a matter of balance and power..."

Avory was interupted by his fathers voice. "Avory, what are you doing up there?"

(Okay, just imagine a camera panning out on Avory at this point, if you want to picture it awesomely in your head). Avory was upsidedown, in his climbing gear, hanging from the side of a rock wall, writing in his journal. "Writing! Why, whats wrong?"

"Why are you writing upside down? Hanging off a small cliff?"

"Helps me relax..."

His father really did not have a response to that. "Well, fine, just don't hurt yourself!"

"Relax, I am a professional!"

"A professional pain in my ass!"

Avory just smiled, and finished writing in his journal. That is when he took out his bow, and aimed it at a target a few meters away, while upside down, and shot the arrow into the center of the target.

As he made his way to the ground, he started to get a headache. Headaches are more common for psychics then non psychics. He used his telekinesis to rip out the climbing gear at the top, and then put it all away in his backpack. He went over to the archery target and got his arrow. That is when he remembered his brother and mother again, for no apparent reason.

His father also came back over. "You okay?"

"Yeah. So, what's up? You clearly want to say something".

"Just enjoying every moment we have left. And Avory..."

"Don't say it! Just don't!"

"But we have to! Because if it comes down to it, your the only one who will be able to!"

"Just...we are not there. Let's not talk about this..,"

"that's fine. Well, breakfast is ready. Can you find your sister?"

"Which one?"

"Amethyst. Your both enough alike I bet you know where she is..."

"Fine..."

"We do have to talk about this you know. you realize why I have to ask this, right?"

Avory looked away from him. "Yeah, I know..."

Breathe. Just keep breathing. That is the key to escaping them. Breathe in. Breathe out. If my breathing started slipping into an unsteady rhythm, I would slow, and they would catch me. And I can't afford to get caught.

Isabelle's feet pounded hard into the dirt as she sprinted along, carefully leaping over stones and ducking under branches. The whirring hum of the HVPR's behind her was droning in her ear. She was starting to get a headache. MAking a sudden sharp turn, she caught the single robot off-guard, but not for long. It was right on her tail. Catching a low-hanging branch in the corner of her vision, Isabelle made a sudden decision. With the HVPR nipping at her heels, she leapt into the air, caught the branch in her hand and swung up into the tree like a graceful baby monkey.

The HVPR stopped, momentarily confused, and Isabelle took that moment to attack. She sprung form her perch on the tree, arms wide, and grabbed onto the HVPR's robotic head, right where the head met the body. Then she willed all her psychic energy into making paralytic touch course through her hands. She didn't know this was the technical term, so she just called it her 'sleep hands'. The HVPR came to a sudden stop, one of its arms twitching. Isabelle didn't waste another moment as she sprinted off into the woods. In a couple minutes the robot would be fully functioning again. SHe had to get as far away from it as she could.

It wasn't until a half hour later that she started to sense others near her. And based on her sensing abilities, it was a group of psychics. Isabelle suddenly sprinted, willing her energy and running to where she sensed these people. But when she got to what appeared to be a building of some sort, she stopped short. to the side of the building was a rock wall.

What if this is a trap? What if those are agents in there waiting for me? But how could I resist? I haven't had interaction with a single person, let alone a psychic, in months.

It didn't take Isabelle's 7 year old brain long to decide she would venture toward the building. She needed to someone, anyone. She felt so alone.

Silently approaching the house, she hid close to the rock wall, but soon realized her decision was poor, because right in front of her were two psychics talking. Isabelle froze, hoping they hadn't heard her.

I am such an idiot. They are going to spot me. It's all over. Maybe if I slowly back away towards the cover of the woods they won't spot me...

Isabelle slowly took a step back, then another, and then... SNAP. Isabelle stepped on a twig, and froze. tears welled in her eyes. They were going to take her back. How could they not have heard that? A tear rolled down her eye and she quickly wiped it away. If these were agents, she didn't want to see her in a state of such vulnerability, even if it was evident on her face that she was scared and about to cry.

Amethyst sat at the top of the tree, balancing precariously on the edge of a branch. Well, precariously, perhaps, for some. But not for her, no siree. For she had always been built small, light enough to perch on the thinnest of branches, agile enough to catch herself if she fell. She probably should have told her family where she was, but that dwould just defeat the purpose. The purpose of being alone, the purpose of getting her mind off things. Or trying to, anyways. It never seemed to work, try as she might. It was weird. Up until... a while ago... she had been perfectly capable of closing off her most disturbing thoughts. But, she supposed her most disturbing thoughts were much more disturbing now, since... Amethyst sighed and pushed the thought away. That wouldn't do, wouldn't do at all. No, she needed to stop thinking about that. She saw a slight movement in the brush below her tree. It couldn't be her family, she was pretty far in. Just as she was fitting an arrow into her bow, a rabbit sprang from the bushes. Amethyst let out a sigh of relief and released her arrow. She watched it zoom downwards, hitting its mark as though controlled by Avory's telekinesis. She had always prided herself in her aim. Amethyst smirked, willing herself into a more muscular form before springing from the tree, sticking the landing with ease. She returned to normal form, and picked up the dead rabbit. "Thank you little bunny," she whispered to the plump corpse. "Thank you for dying for us."

Where ever the wind blew is where Caroluna Devoveo headed. For a few months now she'd become a wanderer and nomad, she had no place to call home anymore and she quite preferred it that way, it kept things fresh and interesting. Today it just so happened that her aimless wandering would have her land in the small town of Tranton the home of many other psychics in hiding. It was nestled in dense, scenic foliage and was quite quiet. Right away Caroluna decided she wanted nothing more than to be low key and avoid the towns people as much as possible and continued her wandering in the direction of the creek who's gurgles and murmurs washed her in a cloak of calmness.

Caroluna stopped for a beat to lower her face to the chilling water and drank to the dregs, savor every drop nature had to offer. As she was doing so her sensing and connection to water allowed her to pick up on the animals a mile or so off that we're doing the same. There was a deer, flock of birds and farther down the line a rabbit who's shrill aura she felt moving farther away from the body of water and so she followed it out of sheer sport. The small woodland creature was quickly prancing farther into the woods and away from her path near the creek. Its heart beat was accelerating as it moved more feverishly as if it sensed that it was in a race. Caroluna quickened her pace, and almost caught up to the hare just when it's aura dimmed quickly to nothingness and all connection to it cut off.

"What... that's weird." The girl remarked as she sprinted forward but stopped dead in her tracks when she spotted someone palming the carcass of the small game. The girl had long silky brunette hair and stood at no more than 5'3. Caroluna was sure she could defend herself against her if need be, so she dropped her wariness for a second to question the girl.
"What are you doing out here kid?" The platinum blonde spoke authoritatively as the girl looked up from her palm with strikingly beautiful purple eyes. Caroluna took a step back, she'd never seen anything like it.
Is this girl possessed or something? Caroluna though as she palmed the surface of her jeans, feeling for her switch blade in case things got out of hand.

Rose paced back and forth as she looked at the stream she was about to jump in. She was curious as to whether it was safe or not. She wanted to go for a swim, and it seemed perfectly fine. At least for the moment it did. Yeah your best friend was perfectly fine until he was on top of you ripping your clothing off. A small negative voice said in her head. Grumbling she spoke out loud. "Oh shut it you." She said while tapping her head. Looking down at the stream she shrugged, seeming to deem it unsafe for herself, "Better safe than sorry." She muttered as she walked away.

Today Rose was wearing something different than her normal attire. Her long brown hair was curled instead of straightened like it always was. Her makeup was natural, instead of dark. The make up really made the brown hues in her eyes pop. Instead of wearing her dark clothing she stuck to wearing something a tad bit light and colorful, not afraid of showing some of her beautiful bronze skin. Nearing her place, she picked up on a peculiar emotion. Fear. Tensing up, she pulled out her pocket knives, ready to go in slow motion should she have to.

That was when she saw a little girl, frozen in place, her foot upon a stick. Could be an agent... She thought to herself, brow raising in suspicion. Getting close behind the little girl she looked in the general direction of her father and her brother.
"Come... look at what we have here... a terrified little girl... be nice... don't scare her.

She thought to both family members, as she knelt down behind the smaller girl. "Are you allright?" She asked softly, in the kindest voice she could muster. She didn't want to scare the girl even more, the girl's fear was almost tangible to Rose anyway. "It's ok." She cooed as she tried finding ways to calm the girl. It was as if her older sister gene were kicking in, wanting her to care for this girl. All warning thoughts of her being an Agent dissapeared.

Jake Connors

Jake stretched out on the grass running his hands through his blond hair, wishing that he had taken some product with him to shape it. Rose might have some he thought vacantly as he sat up shielding his eyes from the sun. It was in these rare quiet moments that Jake allowed himself to be a vain teenager he once was, making sure his appearance was suitable to his neo-gothic taste. Hey if he was gonna get caught might as well get caught looking good! He chuckled nervously at the thought, he didn't want to get caught, even more so he certainly didn't want to get caught by his family.

He kept wishing his mother would come back and also dreading that she would. He'd never gotten close with his older brother, usually keeping to his younger siblings but he missed him terribly. Apart from his father he was the oldest boy left and his dad well... Jake took away as much of the pain that he could- allowing his father moments of rest but it was never long enough. Stupid useless powers he thought as he threw a stick aside. What was the use in fake healing someone? He fought back tears and stood up, hoping to find his family and almost walked right into Rose. "Whoa! Sis, watch out" he exclaimed as his eyes caught the small child. She looked scared, as scared as they all were but trying to hide. He got down on his knees so he'd be at her height and gave her a small smile as Rose spoke to her.

A large explosion could be heard through out the corridors, many of the DPA team looked into the experiment lab with shock. There stood Elysia, her body surround with electrical currents. Every target in the room had been destroyed, even some of the test robots had been reduced to extra parts, whilst others were left unrecognizable.

Elysia blew she blonde bangs away from her eyes, as she took in the scene around her. Happy with her work. "What's the score?" She spoke dully. The guys behind the glass screen began typing away on his keyboard as fast as he could, trying to find the results of the test. He looked up with her and then to the head of the sector. "She's broken the sound barrier!" He stated in shock. Elysia just rolled her eyes not caring about the speed she wanted to know how much power she could generate, she wanted to go on a mission so bad, but had to complete more 'training' As the scientist say. "What's the voltage" She asked once again, she was getting very annoyed with this guy and was seriously contemplating frying him. Yea she was able to access the systems herself and find out what her scores were. But that would just get her in more trouble. "one million volts of electricity.... enough to power this whole room" he mumbled in response.

That's all she needed to know, so she left. As she was walking through the halls of the Department, she felt everyone starring at her and this annoyed her... a lot. A spark of electricity would emit of her as she blows a strand of her hair out of her face, causing everyone in the area to flee, knowing they had annoyed her. "Elysia! Board room now" One of the higher up shouted to her from the end of the corridor. This caused her to smirk. "Time for some fun" She spoke with a sinister smile on her face as she walked towards the board room.

Every step was like pulling bricks out of quicksand. Demetri had been walking and running nonstop for two days, making her hungry, thirsty, and most of all, exhausted. It didn't help that she hadn't had water for three days. She always contemplated stopping but couldn't seem to find a spot that she found safe enough to sleep in. There had been a run in with a hunter the last town back and if it wasn't for the fact that she was a very good distance runner and he had not been, she probably would not be walking onward.

How could she have been so stupid? Not only had she stayed in that small town for over a week, but she had taken her time to leave after a house caught on fire. She should have none the agents would check out a house fire in an inconspicuos town. She had reacted so elementary that it was almost comical. That is, to a sleep deprived mind it was hillarious. If she had any energy left to think, she would be beating herself up endlessly about that. Surely she would once she got some rest.

Just when she thought she was going to collapse where she stood, a house came into view. It wasn't huge, rather quaint actually, just sitting in the middle of the woods. How odd. Although her reasoning skills were severely limited at the moment, Demetri was aware that a house in the middle of nowhere, was something to be suspicious about. She crouched behind a tree, observing the activity from afar. It was quite a sight to see actually. People hanging upside down, shooting bows. A scolding girl, and a little one interacting with another that looked her own age and a boy. She doubted the government was so short on psychics they were releasing ones as young as the little one.

So, with the little energy she had left, she got up and stumbled to the house. She didn't care at that moment about the kid with the arrow or the undoubtedly dangerous people just standing out in the yard. She needed shelter, and she wouldn't make it any farther. Her tounge was swelled from dehydration, her face was scratched from all the brush she had been running through. Her stomach rumbled from the lack of food. If she couldn't stay here, she might as well die here. It was probably the most pathetic she had been in over six years. She was disgusted with herself but was honestly not able to care at the moment.

When Demetri reached the door of the house, she just hit it three times, and slid down the frame. Her legs were like liquid, melting until she was sitting down with her eyes half open, half closed. Her lips were chapped beyond compare and if she tried to speak she was sure her voice would only come out as a whisper.

That was when she let out a small laugh. During her travels she had found out that she was quite beautiful. At least, that is what she had been told by many of the people that had spoken to her. Her hair was a light, wavy brown that seemed to go forever. Her blue eyes so bright they were like the rain in the sky freezing from the inside out. Her skin was flawless, or at least it was until she got into a thornbush. She had dimples and a smile that made people stop what they were doing and stare. These were things that people had said to her many times before. If only they could see her now.

Vance stood by a window in the DPA building as he looked out over the city. It was a whole different world out there, dangerous and full of threats. For over a year he had been coped up in this facility training. Now he would soon be released into that world. He was not fearful though, to him this was a chance for revenge. He knew the city and they world at that was crawling with the rogues, they were dangerous and a threat.

He was drawn from his thoughts as the sound of explosions rocked the hallways. To him this was no oddity, the DPA spent time training and things always seemed to get a bit out of hand at times. He watched Elysia as she walked up the hallway electricity seeming to rivet off of her.

After one of the higher ups spoke to Elysia soon he heard his name called too. "Walters get in there too!"

Vance took a moment to collect himself as e straightened his tie before he walked down the hall after Elysia and followed her into the board room.

Avory thought he heard a noise, but put it behind him. He was more focused on what his father has said, and finding Thes. All right Thes, where are you...

He immediately headed towards the woods, specifically the stream, where the trees seemed to be slightly taller. That was where any hunting was to be done, because things that are hunted need water to drink, and the stream is an ample source of water. As he made his way there though, he momentarily lost his balancing when his power of Foresight kicked in. He quickly balanced himself out, but he could see blood on his hands. He shook his head to shake himself out of it. It was just his foresight power. Foresight was the one power he cant fully control. It would randomly activate, sometimes giving him a vision of the future or something close to it, like sensing danger. Occasionally, he could use it to predict what would happen next, or see what certain people might do if he did something, but his Foresight power would quickly give him headaches and nose bleeds if he used them for too long.

He continued to look for Amethyst, but he always called her Thes, somewhat worried by what he had seen. Blood was never a good sign. It was a sign of violence, of death. A vision of blood was never good to have, and him being worried made him anxious, and when he was anxious, he could not always filter what he said. He was close to all of his family, but he was especially close to Thes, at least he thought so. They had a lot of the same interests.

"Thes, you around here!?" he shouted, looking everywhere. That is when he spotted her with another person. "Thes? Who is this?" His vision of blood before made him very cautious about this new person with Thes. He walked closer to Thes, and whispered in her ear. "My power of Foresight acted up again. I saw blood on my hands. I never see blood unless something violent is about to happen, and now you are with a stranger in the woods. I would be careful, I don't trust her. Its too coincidental..." Avory was very caring towards his family, and his vision of blood was affecting his attitude towards stranger at the moment.

Random NPC Control time: Damion Connors

As Elysia and Walters entered, Damion was waiting for them there. "Welcome. We need to be brief, and we need to be quick. We have tracked down a family of psychics that have been eluding us for years. Now, we have slowly been able to detain and rehabilitate two of them, one being myself, which is why I have been selected for this mission. Our mission is simple: detain and rehabilitate the rest. Now, our targets are: Jack Connors, Rose Connors, Jake Connors, Amethyst Connors, Avory Connors, Jeremy Connors, and Rachel Connors. Out of all these targets, there are some we have to look out for more then others. Avory is a high priority target due to his power of Foresight. He usually gets warnings of us coming before we even know we are coming, and its how they are usually one step ahead of us. He also has telekinesis and Booming. Amethyst can make herself look like anyone or anything. Once you get eyes on her, you make sure she never leaves your sight. Jack Connors is sick, dying from cancer from what it looks like. But don't let that fool you. He is a powerful psychic, having Telekinesis, and also he has the power to enhance and/or focus the powers of another Psychic, allowing them to be much more precise and powerful".

He then looked from the data and at the other Agents. "HVPRs and other assortment of assistance will be provided. We have had transport assembled already, and we will be there within 10 minutes. Report to the gunship in 4 minutes fully equipped".

Isabelle was terrified. She really shouldn't be, having experienced far scaring things before, things girls of her age should not experience. But her head was pounding, her headache turning into a nasty migraine. She got headaches regularly. Although one of the boys leaving (seemingly unaware of her presence) had made her relax a little, she was still shaking with fear, hoping no one else would notice her.

Suddenly, before her sensing abilities could recognize the she was there, a female voice spoke, startling Isabelle into a whirlwind of panic. Spinning on her heel and acting on pure instinct, barely recognizing the words the female spoke, she reached her 'sleep hands' out, giving a weak bolt of psychic energy, sending her into a state paralyzed shock. It wasn't until the girl, maybe 18 or 19 years old, was lying on the ground did Isabelle realize in horror what she had just done.

She isn't dead. She will wake up in a few seconds. You didn't kill her. She isn't dead. Isabelle squeezed her eyes shut and backed away, almost crawling on the ground. She hated using her paralytic touch on actual people. Because she was afraid one of these times the person wouldn't wake up.

It has happened before.... She went into a coma... and then died..... And then the tears came. Rolling down her dirty smudged face, almost clearing a path of the grime on her skin. She was crying partly from what she had just done, and partly because her headache was so severe she thought she might pass out. Curling up into a ball she heaved great sobs, the presence of a male boy, and another female itching at the back of her mind. She wanted to disappear.

Finally sucking in her last chocked sob, she got up and childishly peeked out from around the rock wall, only half of her showing, as if a toddler peeking out from around their mother to catch a glimpse of a stranger. Summoning up her courage, she started to speak but her words came out in a croak. "I'm.... uh... Isabelle. I'm sorry. what I did... to your... uh.... friend. She will wake up soon... I hope."

Rose went to go and respond to her brother when she felt a jolt go through her body, before she became numb, collapsing on the ground, her knives next to her. Her eyes widened when she tried to look at the younger girl. She just collapsed to the ground, her eyes wide and open. Though she was in a form of unconsciousness, she saw someone creeping to the door of her house.

She wanted to say something but nothing would come out. It felt as if her whole body had almost shut down, trying to put her into a sleep. So all Rose could do was lay there, her eyes open, a look of peace upon her face.

I'm going to kill that little girl. She mentally thought to herself, since she couldn't do much.

All Rose wanted to do was move, and kill that little girl that had attacked her. She wasn't normally a violent person, but now she knew, if somehow this little girl were to carry her back to the agents... well... she'd be with her older brother... but she would no longer be a free psychic.

"Look, I'm just trying to pass through. I don't want any trouble, I just though that this girl was lost is all." Caroluna said hoping that she was doing a good job at sounding calm and non threatening. Luna watched as the brown haired boy knelt down and whispered something to the purple eyed girl who apparently went by the name Thes. The girl nodded slightly as he rose to his feet.
"Who are you two? What are you doing out in the woods all by yourself?" Luna questioned apprehensively. As she appraised the two, she noticed that neither of them could be any older than fifteen but that was not enough for her to put her guard down. She'd heard too many stories on kids as young as 14 being captured by The Department and used against psychics as a psychological tactic being that most people would never have the gall to fight a kid, but Caroluna refused to be taken down by The Department, not when they had her Brother. She had to save him, he was all she had in the world and she refused to let him be brought down with such dishonor. Her bloodline was down to it's last leg, and that alone was enough to compel her to fight. Abruptly Luna cleared her throat and wiped away a stray tear that had rolled down her cheeks when she'd compromised her concentration with the thoughts of her family.
"I demand to know. Are you psychics?" She questioned, as she stared into Thes's piercing purple eyes. Maybe that was the reason the two kids would take refuge in the outskirts of Tranton, and if so she would have to admit she may need their help. She didn't have much of a plan on facing The Department. All of her musings resulted in her death or worse her capture, she needed a team.

Jake

Jake saw several things at once, one moment he was trying to comfort a little girl, another he had seen someone crawl up to the door. Thinking Rose could handle the little girl Jake stood up an attempted to go over to Demetri, she wasn't far away and she looked like she needed help. "Don't worry I'm coming to hel-" he began to say as he became aware of a thump sound behind him. Turning his head he virtually couldn't believe it seeing his sister on the ground. Spinning around on his heel Jake almost tripped over himself running back to Rose. "Rose! Rose?!" he shook her slightly to no response, she was breathing though, her pulse albeit raised was still there

"I'm.... uh... Isabelle. I'm sorry. what I did... to your... uh.... friend. She will wake up soon... I hope."

He raised his head to see the little girl. He wanted to give out to her, he wanted to scream and show her the error of her ways. But he couldn't... she was what so young and so scared. How could he blame her. "She not my friend" he replied, his tone even, trying to stay calm. "She's my sister". He placed both his hands on Rose's head. "I'm going to try and take this away from you Rose" he explained before doing anything to his sister. If this was a psychic power where it was in someone's mind to be stopped then his technique 'Bandage' just should work.

Bandage worked by tricking the body and mind into thinking no harm had been done to it. Jake had been using it on fairly minor injuries thus far. A twisted ankle, a bruised arm. It gave the body time to heal whilst not experiencing pain. So hopefully this would work. Taking a deep breath he concentrated on his sister, his hands getting slightly warm with his touch. "Rose?" he asked quietly when he was done, hoping it did as well with mental injury as it did with physical.

Jake hadn't forgotten about the woman at the door, but his sister was his first concern.

Waking up to normal day of life is something that Ryan thinks about from time to time. Knowing that it will never happen until he catches every last psychic who is on the run. Ryan tends to hate what the psychics who aren't controlled do. He always daydreams of the time he was with his little sister. The only thing he can seem to remember most from that day is when his little sister was murdered by a psychic. "She was just having fun and enjoying herself what did she ever do to deserve this death." He would repeat to himself. Ryan has one mission and one mission only and that is to hunt down every last psychic down who run wild. He exited the training room and advances on to the board room to meet with the others, afterwards he decides to do a checkup on Elysia.

Ryan was standing outside of the meeting room with his back against the wall listening in on the briefing. He rubbed his nose then twitched his eyebrow knowing that things were about to get serious. Finally the time to hunt down the Connors Family he thought to himself. Hearing the information spew out of Damion’s mouth like he has seen them in person startled Ryan.
“How is it P-possible for someone to still be strong and have a weak body,” he whispered to himself. I have to see this Jack Connors for myself. Ryan advanced on to his next destination which was the experiment lab. As he walked into the lab he noticed some damages in the training facilities. Especially the one they use for Elysia and Ryan was in shock of how much she has grown since she has been there. “Hey Doc how much has Elysia grown,” Ryan said. “Oh Ryan you’re here I have so much to tell you about your abilities and how much they have grown... I know you asked me about Elysia, but you’re important to us.” The Scientist uttered in nonsense. “Are you crazy or just an imbecile because the last time I checked I’m not the only agent around here anymore, Elysia, now tell me about her?

“Right, Elysia has been showing great improvement in her abilities and is growing more powerful as the days pass…she was able to generate enough power to power the whole room up herself like a generator... Ryan listen to me careful now, by her being able to power a whole a room up by herself is a great amount of energy usage and that can take a toll on her body because of leakage. “Doctor quiet now I don’t want to here anymore of this conversation I’m done talking.” Ryan was in a fit his head begin to ache with pain. He clutched his head in begin hollering at the top of his lungs and a tear dropped from his left eye. I’m fine he whispered to the scientist. Ryan walked to the board room before everyone left and told everyone that he is going on this mission as well.

“Vance I know that you don’t remember much of your past, but I am here for you as well…me and Elysia are your friends…we will always be here for you.” Ryan politely mentioned it to Vance. Let’s go catch us some psychics now who think they can harm this city and everyone.

Dylan Simmons

The crashing in the hallways signified Elysa was having yet another one of her "productive" test sessions. In reality that just meant she was blowing up more stuff that nobody in this facility apparently needed. If they did, they would learn to keep it out out of the same room as Elysa. Dylan thought they would have learned after the years she had been so powerful that it was a health hazard to keep any possible flying projectiles in a room with her. Even Dylan knew that, and she didn't have a degree in anything, unlike many of these master degree flaunting idiots.

Dylan peeked out in the hallways and saw a mixture of paper and machinery lying out in the hallway, along with a few sparks flying from some loose wires. How wonderful. Farther down the hallway she grimaced as she saw Ryan. She really didn't like him, she didn't know why but something about him just rubbed her the wrong way. Then again, almost everybody rubbed her the wrong way. The trick was to hide that discomfort, or in some cases, utmost loathing. She just found it hard to do with some people.

She saw him walk into the board room and followed suit, eager to hear if a mission was available. She was going stir-crazy staying in this place, and she could hardly pass up the chance to show these twerps up. Most of them captured psychics for the better good, which was sweet, but she didn't. It was just plain fun, and she loved to get out of the place. Some people played video games, she hunted down and sometimes killed her own kind. Same result, it was entertaining.

Of course, all train of thought when one word was overheard. "Connors", those people....the name sickened her. That along with Demetri, they were the ghosts that haunted her past. The ones that somehow managed to slip out of her grasp. They humiliated her, showing her up and ruining her streak of perfection. She would be a part of this.

"I'm taking this mission up." Dylan stated bluntly. She wasn't asking because she wouldn't take no for an answer. This was her chance to finally prove to herself that she wasn't a failure. She would wipe this off of her record, and then all she would be left with would be Demetri. She saw Elysa and Vance in the room along with Ryan and she wondered why so many were going to retrieve the Connors. No psychic was ever hunted by more than one hunter through a mission. There were instances where some were hunted by freelance hunters but other than that the most ever sent out on one mission was two or three, and never so high ranked. It didn't matter though, she would do this singlehandedly. While they were looking for the family, she would already have them located and being transported back.

Elysia stood in front of Damion Connors, slightly annoyed that he is the one telling them what they are doing. He hadn't even been there that long and he was all ready annoying her. She had the idea what the mission was, but why there were so many of Hunters for the mission she didn't know. All together there was a total of five hunters. Each with their own abilities and strengths.
If there was this many doing the mission it shouldn't be too hard. Even though Elysia had never been out of the building itself, let alone a real mission. So although she wasn't showing it, she was really excited to go outside.

When the briefing was over she headed towards her room to grab her gear. It didn't consist of much, mainly a small bag full of metal objects like; coins, nails etc. She also had some cash, some credit and debit cards that the company provided her with and some I.D. After she had sorted her bag out she proceeded to attach a knife holster to her thigh, one on each leg. Once she was fully she grab so last minute electronic equipment such as her phone and communicator and headed towards the gunship.

As she was walking to the gunship some electricity began to emit from her body once more, this annoyed her slightly but she got used to it. She finally arrived at the gunship and started to wait for the others to arrive, to stop her from getting bored she began to move an electrical spark from one hand to the other.

Vance had been listening to the briefing, he had never heard of the Connors family but they must have had some relation to Damion. It seemed ironic to him that he was giving the briefing. As long as this was a chance to hunt rogues he was content. He noticed a stream of others enter the room and was wondering why so many hunters would be required but decided to shrug it off.

Then Vance heard what Ryan said, he was a bit confused. No one here had offered any kindness to him though he wasn't really looking for it. He just nodded to Ryan before getting up and going to the armory and his locker to gather his things.

He donned some light body armor that was in his locker and his communication gear. Then he walked down the hall and into the armory. "Fred what have you got for me?" He asked the weapons researcher.

"For you Vance? I think I can scrounge up some weapons... He said as he scurried around grabbing two brief cases. "A sniper rifle loaded with stun or lethal rounds. An electrified sword, a standard issue pistol and a new toy that I believe fits you sonic grenades, all the boom and stopping power with out the killing." He man said handing over the cases.

Vance took them and thanked Fred before he made his way to the gunship platform and hopped up into the ship as he kept his gear close.

Amethyst studied the girl harshly, not knowing what to think. She heard Avory's call long before his appearence, but she didn't want to call out in case this girl was posed any danger. All the same, she was relieved when he appeared. She didn't like being alone in circumstances like this, and it gave her comfort to know someone trustworthy was by her side. Amethyst made no reaction the Avory's whisper, not wanting to give away their position to this mysterious girl. To be honest, she comepletely agreed with her brother, even without knowing what his foresight. As the girl spoke, Amethyst took a step forward, suddenly wishing she had worn her sunglasses. But then, she had no way of knowing someone else would appear. She loaded her bow in one fluid motion, rabbit lying on the ground, forgotten. "It doesn't matter who we are," she said quietly, emotionlessly. "Nor what we are. Not to you, anyway." Amethyst's gaze didn't waver as she waited for the girl to show her true colors.

Isabelle was terrified. It was only terror that kept her frozen in place instead of running off into the woods. her only chance of a friend was ruined by her childish instincts to protect herself. Feeling the need to defend her wrong-doings, she spoke up. "She is completely fine. Physically i mean. She isn't hurt or anything, She just can't move. I tricked her nerve...se...ous.. sys..tem (stumbling through the words) into thinking she could no longer move any muscle in her body. Mentally, she might be a little disoriented. She might get a headache later. but other than that she should be fine."

I hope...

She could already see a finger begin to twitch and her mouth begin to quiver.

Isabelle felt terrible. But she had only meant to protect herself. She thought it might have been an agent or an HVPR. Who knows. But Isabelle could sense the tension in the air. "I'm sorry," she said, a long look of shame and sadness crossing her face. "I should... go."

Isabelle had sensed a group of three psychics far off into the woods. Curious, she wanted to go find them. Maybe these people would be different. But her head hurt so badly that she didn't want to move at all. Almost as an afterthought, she slumped to the ground in pain, clutching her head.

They never used to be this bad...

Avory watched the girl as Thes loaded her bow. He could easily reach for his bow as well, but something stopped him. Something in the trees, behind the girl. It stepped out, a black, cloaked figure, wielding a scythe. He quickly snapped out of it though, realizing it was just his Foresight again. The figure disappeared, because it was never actually there. Often when his foresight was acting up on its own, he would get a series of visions, not just one. His eyes would also glow when this happened as well. He then remembered the situation around him, and refocused.

Avory kept an eye on the girl. But his foresight just showed him the Grim Reaper, the symbol of death. And the first one was blood on his hands. Am I seeing my own death? No, no, these visions could mean anything. It could just mean something deadly is coming. My foresight is rarely clear and simple.

Avory reached for his bow because of her last question though. Asking that question like that, and so bluntly, made him suspicious. But worse, it made him curious. "If we were psychics, why would we be here? And that is a stupid question to ask, because I doubt an actual psychic would answer that truthfully". Avory couldn't help but notice her white hair, and the fact she was out here by herself. While Agents usually did run solo missions, that was when they were hunting one or two runners. Their family was so big, often the Agents came in groups of twos or threes. Occasionally just one had come after them, but that did not happen often anymore. Avory still did not trust her, but an Agent coming after them alone, and luckily finding them in the woods, was statistically low. Of course, he did not rule out the fact others might be around, but if they had equal or greater numbers, he doubted they would have waited so long to strike. Still, he did not trust her.

He quickly scanned the woods around them, just to be on the safe side. He didn't see anything at first, but when he looked back at her, he saw two more figures. Seeing as how Thes said nothing, he immediately suspected they were just his foresight acting up. Especially since she would have reacted to Damion actually appearing. The second figure he did not recognize though. They were both wearing black though, and each one of them said a word. "Reclaim". "Release".

They both disappeared, and Avory felt a drip of blood running out of his nose. Damn it. Well, at least that means foresight won't distract me again any time soon. But if she did not know we were psychics before, she will now. And when Thes sees my nose bleeding, she will know my foresight was showing me something big. How am I supposed to explain what I just saw when I don't even know what it means?

Avory especially did not like what the three visions were. One was blood on his hands, the second was a reaper, and the third was his brother and someone else, giving the most bizarre clue ever. He quickly glanced at Thes, and then mentioned "C'mon Thes, lets just leave. Standing here staring at each other is not going to get any of us anywhere..."

(Side Note: Avory's foresight visions are rarely if ever clear. Meaning, don't assume you know what they mean. Also, putting NPC control in a different post this time since this was so long...lol...)

Amethyst lowered her bow slowly. Something had bothered her little brother, she could tell. Turning towards her brother, face impassive as usual, she saw the blood. Oh, crap. What this time? she thought with an inward groan. Kneeling down to pick up the dead rabbit, she turned back towards the girl. "Don't get any ideas about following us. I don't care what you say, I don't trust you. Not at all." Amethyst smirked in a way that suggested superiority, speaking with more confidence than she felt. "Because if you do try to harm us, fair warning to the fact that you'll be dead within moments." She nodded her head towards Avory. " 'Cause this kid and I, we're perfect shots. Never miss a target. Get the picture?" Amethyst figured a little white lie didn't hurt, not in this case anyway. She turned on her heel, nodding to Avory. "Let's go." She wanted to wait until they were out of earshot to ask him about his vision. Mind, she may not want to know, but from past experience she knew they occasionally left him not feeling the greatest.

NPC: Damion Connors

Damion was fully equipped to go. He was in the cockpit of the Gunship, preparing for takeoff. He could not see if everyone had gotten on yet, but if they did not in the next minute then they would be left behind. There was a rush order on this job, and he was specifically selected for this. The Director of The Department specifically assembled the mission himself, and he had put more Agents on this then ever before. Granted, his family had always been elusive, but not only did they have an abnormally large amount of Agents for this, but they also had a large amount of HVPRs, and even a few heavy mechs. This was way more then necessary for his family. Maybe the director just wanted to leave no chance of failure, but even then, all this is a lot. And he knows that at least one of us would notice this. Whatever his goal for us going there is, either there is something there he knows but can't risk mentioning, or he doesn't even know what it is except its dangerous and powerful. Either way, my family, and The Director's target, will not get away.

He reviewed the profiles of the others. Damion was put as the main lead on the mission, even though he had been here less then the others. Although when he saw the profiles of the other agents, he could understand why he was promoted over some of them. Elysia was listed as unstable by the psychologist. Dylan had a previous run in with his family, specifically Avory, 7 months ago, after the Department showed him how wrong they had been and why they needed to learn what they taught. Her determination would help, but she was too lone wolf to be selected as leader. Because he had been the eldest brother, it gave him experience of what being a leader meant and what responsibilities came with it. Vance was a special case, and many files about him were listed as classified. He could only guess it was some sort of special case or a trial run of some experiment they had done, maybe related to his memory problems.

Ryan, however, had no indication as to why he would not lead this team. They both believed in what the Department were doing, unless they suspected Ryan might be a spy or something. But that seemed unlikely. After all, they both saw why the Department did what they did. At least, he suspected he did. Ryan seemed more stable then some of the others, and he had been working in the department for a long time, so he was sure that Ryan knew. He knew not all Agents knew though, because The Department wanted as few people to know as possible in case they were infiltrated. Its why they did what they did. It did seem like what they did was wrong, but the reasons were justified and they had no choice. Maybe that is the reason for all the forces...because of the true threat. If only people knew, but if they did, there would be panic. No, only by accomplishing the primary directive would the world be safe. Only then could they reveal the truth, and then all life could live together peacefully. But first, the threat must be dealt with. And if they got his family, that boost in numbers would be incredibly helpful.

As the gunship began to take off, he hoped everyone was on board. Because if he was right, then this battle might be tougher then any of them could expect.

(Brainwashing, or is there actually a dark secret? That is the question! And here is a comment. Great posting so far people! Love what I am reading!)

"Wait! Please... I haven't had a normal conversation in months, I'm kind of rusty." The platinum blonde admitted apologetically as she tried her best to be courteous and personable although she knew she was failing quite miserably at it.
"I'm Caroluna, actually just plain Luna and I'm a psychic." She stated boldly.
"Look, I'm pretty sure you two are psychics too, and I know there is no reason for you to care but I need your help and frankly you need mine. I've been town hopping for months and a insane amount of people have gone missing in each one, I have a hunch Tranton's next and if you plan to survive this wave of HVPR's and soldiers you're going to need a team." She stated, her words concise passionate and sharp as she spoke.
"I get that you don't trust me, I wouldn't either. Frankly I have some nerve asking you for help like this, but I wouldn't be doing it if everything wasn't on the line." She said earnestly as she removed her worn leather knapsack from her back and empty it's contents. On the dirt was her leather drawing journal, a pencil and charcoal, a hand of Fatima locket, rations, a 1955 colt python, a silver switch blade, a map, and some religious stones and herbs.
"This is all I've got on me." She said as she put her hands up in surrender.
"Here, take these on momentary loan. I'll be needing them back of course, but we can discuss that later, maybe after we discuss a possible alliance?" Caroluna said as she kicked the gun and switch blade over to the two to show them that she meant no harm and immediately after created a force field around herself inconspicuously in case they refused the deal violently.

As they walked away, he quietly told Thes what he saw, but he sounded panicked. "I saw the Reaper, the Grim Reaper. That's a sign of death. I mean, what else could it be? I saw blood on my hands, then a Reaper, and then I saw Damion and someone else I did not recognize. Oh no...what if I am predicting my own death? What if Damion is coming and he is going to kill me?". He was starting to panic a lot more now. But thinking you just predicted your own death can do that. His breathing was short and rapid, so he tried to calm down and take deep breaths. "My visions are never wrong, but they are obscure. Maybe it means something else. Please mean something else".

This was unlike Avory. He was always kind and brave in the face of danger, but seeing the Reaper rattled him a lot. However, as they were about to leave, this "Caroluna" admitted to being a psychic and practically surrendered to them. This shook him out of his worries, trying to focus on the current situation. He turned around to look at her, and at the same time saw his own reflection. His eyes were still glowing, but they shouldn't. His nose started bleeding, that marks the end of random Foresight visions, but his eyes glowed ever so slightly when he has them.

So when Avory got the biggest headache in human history, it tended to be a bad sign. He nearly collapsed, but caught himself from falling face first into the ground. This foresight was different. It was even less clear, but there was only one thing he got from it. "Run...it's coming....they are coming...".

There was no doubt in his mind they were coming. He had completely missed what Luna had said after he had the lapse however. He also could not filter what he was saying at the moment. "We need to warn the others, Thes". His eyes and face were saying something else however. Don't tell them about what just happened. Don't tell them its getting worse.
