It would be nice to catch a break every now and then.

a character in “Hunted Minds”, as played by gezzygezzy

Description

Name: Demetri Joane

Nicknames: Joane, Demi, Dems

Age: 17

Description:
Image
Demetri is how she looks in the picture, but in color, her hair is a light brown. Her eyes or a bright blue that is like the ocean, but around the pupil it is an icy blue. She has a scar on her hip that circles her left hip bone, which sticks out along with her other one. She also has a tattoo on her back of a hourglass with barely any time left.

(Her personality will be showed throughout the roleplay ;D)

Past Moments:
When Demetri was about seven years old, an agent broke into her home and took both of her parents. She hid under the bed while it took place but the agent found her none the less. He was going to take her along with her parents but she was scared and accidentally used her booming, killing the agent and her parents in the process. She doesn't know how she did it though because that was the only time in her life that she has been able to do that and she has never heard of somebody else doing such a thing.

When she was ten, Demetri was taken in by a family to protect her. She grew attached to them but after a month of living with them the agents located her and killed the people protecting her. She was taking a walk at the time and returned to the house to find it burning to the ground. She tried to run in the house but when she heard somebody in the backyard she took off running and silently crying. She has been running nonstop ever since, never settling, never growing attached to anybody. When she meets another psychic she stays with them for safety in numbers. But when she begins to like them she runs when they are asleep, taking what she needs and never looking back.

When she was thirteen, Demetri jumped off a cliff into the water to escape a HVPR. It was over 150 feet and at impact she felt pain she had never quite experienced. As the water rushed around her and her momentum brought her down further into the water, she found it impossible to swim back to the surface. By some miracle after passing out she quickly washed ashore and a doctor found her and saved her life. Since then she has been terrified of the water.

Notable Equipment:
Hunting Knife
.45 Pistol (12 bullet rounds)
6 Concealable Knives

Psychic Powers: (If Applicable)
Shade
Telekinesis
Booming(Unable to use)

Other:
Demetri tends to be a runner more than a fighter. She is a master at using her abilities for defense and diversions but when it comes to attacking, she tries her best to avoid it and because of that isn't very skilled at it. However, she is better than almost anyone at getting away. Most the time she is never even noticed.

So begins...

Every step was like pulling bricks out of quicksand. Demetri had been walking and running nonstop for two days, making her hungry, thirsty, and most of all, exhausted. It didn't help that she hadn't had water for three days. She always contemplated stopping but couldn't seem to find a spot that she found safe enough to sleep in. There had been a run in with a hunter the last town back and if it wasn't for the fact that she was a very good distance runner and he had not been, she probably would not be walking onward.

How could she have been so stupid? Not only had she stayed in that small town for over a week, but she had taken her time to leave after a house caught on fire. She should have none the agents would check out a house fire in an inconspicuos town. She had reacted so elementary that it was almost comical. That is, to a sleep deprived mind it was hillarious. If she had any energy left to think, she would be beating herself up endlessly about that. Surely she would once she got some rest.

Just when she thought she was going to collapse where she stood, a house came into view. It wasn't huge, rather quaint actually, just sitting in the middle of the woods. How odd. Although her reasoning skills were severely limited at the moment, Demetri was aware that a house in the middle of nowhere, was something to be suspicious about. She crouched behind a tree, observing the activity from afar. It was quite a sight to see actually. People hanging upside down, shooting bows. A scolding girl, and a little one interacting with another that looked her own age and a boy. She doubted the government was so short on psychics they were releasing ones as young as the little one.

So, with the little energy she had left, she got up and stumbled to the house. She didn't care at that moment about the kid with the arrow or the undoubtedly dangerous people just standing out in the yard. She needed shelter, and she wouldn't make it any farther. Her tounge was swelled from dehydration, her face was scratched from all the brush she had been running through. Her stomach rumbled from the lack of food. If she couldn't stay here, she might as well die here. It was probably the most pathetic she had been in over six years. She was disgusted with herself but was honestly not able to care at the moment.

When Demetri reached the door of the house, she just hit it three times, and slid down the frame. Her legs were like liquid, melting until she was sitting down with her eyes half open, half closed. Her lips were chapped beyond compare and if she tried to speak she was sure her voice would only come out as a whisper.

That was when she let out a small laugh. During her travels she had found out that she was quite beautiful. At least, that is what she had been told by many of the people that had spoken to her. Her hair was a light, wavy brown that seemed to go forever. Her blue eyes so bright they were like the rain in the sky freezing from the inside out. Her skin was flawless, or at least it was until she got into a thornbush. She had dimples and a smile that made people stop what they were doing and stare. These were things that people had said to her many times before. If only they could see her now.

Isabelle was terrified. She really shouldn't be, having experienced far scaring things before, things girls of her age should not experience. But her head was pounding, her headache turning into a nasty migraine. She got headaches regularly. Although one of the boys leaving (seemingly unaware of her presence) had made her relax a little, she was still shaking with fear, hoping no one else would notice her.

Suddenly, before her sensing abilities could recognize the she was there, a female voice spoke, startling Isabelle into a whirlwind of panic. Spinning on her heel and acting on pure instinct, barely recognizing the words the female spoke, she reached her 'sleep hands' out, giving a weak bolt of psychic energy, sending her into a state paralyzed shock. It wasn't until the girl, maybe 18 or 19 years old, was lying on the ground did Isabelle realize in horror what she had just done.

She isn't dead. She will wake up in a few seconds. You didn't kill her. She isn't dead. Isabelle squeezed her eyes shut and backed away, almost crawling on the ground. She hated using her paralytic touch on actual people. Because she was afraid one of these times the person wouldn't wake up.

It has happened before.... She went into a coma... and then died..... And then the tears came. Rolling down her dirty smudged face, almost clearing a path of the grime on her skin. She was crying partly from what she had just done, and partly because her headache was so severe she thought she might pass out. Curling up into a ball she heaved great sobs, the presence of a male boy, and another female itching at the back of her mind. She wanted to disappear.

Finally sucking in her last chocked sob, she got up and childishly peeked out from around the rock wall, only half of her showing, as if a toddler peeking out from around their mother to catch a glimpse of a stranger. Summoning up her courage, she started to speak but her words came out in a croak. "I'm.... uh... Isabelle. I'm sorry. what I did... to your... uh.... friend. She will wake up soon... I hope."

Dylan Simmons

The crashing in the hallways signified Elysa was having yet another one of her "productive" test sessions. In reality that just meant she was blowing up more stuff that nobody in this facility apparently needed. If they did, they would learn to keep it out out of the same room as Elysa. Dylan thought they would have learned after the years she had been so powerful that it was a health hazard to keep any possible flying projectiles in a room with her. Even Dylan knew that, and she didn't have a degree in anything, unlike many of these master degree flaunting idiots.

Dylan peeked out in the hallways and saw a mixture of paper and machinery lying out in the hallway, along with a few sparks flying from some loose wires. How wonderful. Farther down the hallway she grimaced as she saw Ryan. She really didn't like him, she didn't know why but something about him just rubbed her the wrong way. Then again, almost everybody rubbed her the wrong way. The trick was to hide that discomfort, or in some cases, utmost loathing. She just found it hard to do with some people.

She saw him walk into the board room and followed suit, eager to hear if a mission was available. She was going stir-crazy staying in this place, and she could hardly pass up the chance to show these twerps up. Most of them captured psychics for the better good, which was sweet, but she didn't. It was just plain fun, and she loved to get out of the place. Some people played video games, she hunted down and sometimes killed her own kind. Same result, it was entertaining.

Of course, all train of thought when one word was overheard. "Connors", those people....the name sickened her. That along with Demetri, they were the ghosts that haunted her past. The ones that somehow managed to slip out of her grasp. They humiliated her, showing her up and ruining her streak of perfection. She would be a part of this.

"I'm taking this mission up." Dylan stated bluntly. She wasn't asking because she wouldn't take no for an answer. This was her chance to finally prove to herself that she wasn't a failure. She would wipe this off of her record, and then all she would be left with would be Demetri. She saw Elysa and Vance in the room along with Ryan and she wondered why so many were going to retrieve the Connors. No psychic was ever hunted by more than one hunter through a mission. There were instances where some were hunted by freelance hunters but other than that the most ever sent out on one mission was two or three, and never so high ranked. It didn't matter though, she would do this singlehandedly. While they were looking for the family, she would already have them located and being transported back.

Isabelle was terrified. It was only terror that kept her frozen in place instead of running off into the woods. her only chance of a friend was ruined by her childish instincts to protect herself. Feeling the need to defend her wrong-doings, she spoke up. "She is completely fine. Physically i mean. She isn't hurt or anything, She just can't move. I tricked her nerve...se...ous.. sys..tem (stumbling through the words) into thinking she could no longer move any muscle in her body. Mentally, she might be a little disoriented. She might get a headache later. but other than that she should be fine."

I hope...

She could already see a finger begin to twitch and her mouth begin to quiver.

Isabelle felt terrible. But she had only meant to protect herself. She thought it might have been an agent or an HVPR. Who knows. But Isabelle could sense the tension in the air. "I'm sorry," she said, a long look of shame and sadness crossing her face. "I should... go."

Isabelle had sensed a group of three psychics far off into the woods. Curious, she wanted to go find them. Maybe these people would be different. But her head hurt so badly that she didn't want to move at all. Almost as an afterthought, she slumped to the ground in pain, clutching her head.

They never used to be this bad...

ImageAs soon as Caroluna got to the clearing everything was moving in a fast paced frenzy. The girl by the name of Thes quickly propped her brother up in a coroner and ran inside the cabin, a cacophony of hushed and hurried whispered could be heard from the outside where she stood quite awkwardly until she decided she should make herself useful. She looked over to Avory who looked out of it, but he was breathing normally and looked like he would come around with a little rest. On the other hand they was a girl on the porch that looked around Lunas aged who looked dehydrated, marred, and worn out. She walked over to the girl with very little caution, she felt like she knew her somehow, and then she realized she felt a familiarity in her soft looks and battle scarred appearance, in her she saw herself.
"Excuse me," Luna spoke gently as she shook the girls arm gently trying to rouse her from her overexertion induced stupor.

[OOC: I am going to make a revision to her knapsack contents, I am adding two canteens of water, an mp3, incense and matches]
Quickly Luna removed a canteen of water from her bag and a chocolate bar she'd used her five finger discount to get and handed it to the girl. It wasn't much but it was something, and all she was willing to offer to the stranger for the time being.
"Drink and eat this." She said as she handed the girl the items. The blonde looked fatigued and shaky, she used her own past experiences as diagnose and concluded that her sickness could simply be low blood glucose level, or in other words low blood sugar, the candy would bring her glucose levels back up and she would be back on her feet in no time.
Image
"Apparently we have some visitors on the way, hostile ones. So do your best to get back on your feet and be prepared to fight." Luna advised as she took too her own advice and took the other canteen out of her bag for a swig. She sat patiently there for the remainder of Thes's conversation, she would need her gun and knife before the hostiles arrived if she was to be on her A game, but she felt it untimely and rude to barge in. If anything she'd use her hand to hand training, she wasn't too bad at it, actually she'd beaten her father at sparing plenty of times but she preferred to keep distance between her and her enemies, it was all hocus pocus but she felt like their negative energy interfered with her effectiveness in battle.

Demetri Joane

Demetri felt an arrow go through her shirt and didn't do as much as blink. She was worn down to the point that even that was difficult to do. However, she did wonder why somebody would bother to shoot at her. It's not like she was going anywhere. She wasn't tired any more, but that was simply because she was used to going day to day without sleep. Now that she had finally stopped moving she could regain a bit of her energy. Although that was rather hard to do when she was excrutiatingly hungry and dehydrated.

Just as she was thinking this, a girl spotted her and walked up to her. Demetri merely stared at her as she walked forward. Then the girl shook her and Demetri opened her eyes to a bit more than slits. She felt something cold put into her hands and she looked at it. Water! Oh glorious water! Suddenly her exhaustion was gone and with more speed than she thought she could manage the canteen was up to her mouth and she was gulping away. After each gulp she could feel a her throat become more and more...well, normal. But then she tried to swallow too much and ended up spitting out the water in her mouth.

She coughed a few times before looking up at the girl, more alert now. "Thanks, and sorry," she said, a bit of a rasp in her voice.
Then the girl handed her a chocolate bar, and she swore that she wanted to hug her right then and there. She ate a big chunk out of it but was careful to chew it fully before swallowing it, so she wouldn't have to repeat the events that occured with the water. She almost spit it out though when the girl said her next words. "Apparently we have some visitors on the way, hostile ones. So do your best to get back on your feet and be prepared to fight." People were coming here to fight? Oh god...

Slowly, she got to her feet and looked at the girl. "How long until they are here?" She never fought, she only ran. It's what she was good at, not fighting! She could maybe fend off a few. She had once knocked out a hunter by the name of Dylan but that wasn't going to do much good if there was more than one of them! Oh god...she was going to get captured. Maybe if she ran though. It just depended on the amount of time left.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dylan Simmons

Dylan got on the gunship minutes after everyone had disperesed the room. All she had to do was grab her duffel and her belt. She always brought extra clothes if in case she stayed a bit longer than planned, and her belt had all of her equipment. She swiped them up and walked straight to the gunship. As it took off she felt a sense of dread coming upon her. She had to work with others, surely they would find some way to screw everything up, and annoy the hell out of her in the process. Why couldn't she do this on her own? She had captured families by herself, surely she could do this too.

Elysa started talking about the 'game plan' and mentioned how everyone had to work together to capture the family. Please, she didn't need any of these people. She was more qualified than the lot of them. Eight years in the department, six of them in non-stop training, and she got stuck working with other people? She could catch anybody by herself. She would prove it to them, and she would never have to go through this hell again. Elysa mentioned her use of tracking skills to find them and Dylan almost interupted but kept her train of thought to herself. Really, to hunt down people that we can't find, I need to use my tracking skill that I have been using on all of my missions for the past six years? I'll try and keep that in mind. She knew her sarcasm would get her nowhere, but she couldn't help but think it.

Then it came up that Vance would be teleporting them. She had to admit that was a good idea, but she knew all of this was in vain. Elysa mentioned the element of suprise, that was a joke. "You think we will suprise them?" She said, a hint of amusement in her voice. "Suprise is not an option, that Avory boy has foresight, there's no way he won't see this coming. We may be more prepared than them, but don't fool yourself into thinking we can just pop in and pop out." She let that sink in before continuing. "We need to use weakness's. Damion is part of their family, which means they still love him. What if we used him against them?"

Everything was happening so fast, it made her head hurt even worse. Her senses picked up on three psychics advancing towards them from the woods, which sent her mind into a tizzy. Isabelle quickly whispered to the boy in front of her "I'm fine. Go help your brother." How she knew that the boy in front of her and the boy being carried by another into the house puzzled her, but it was the sense that she got. Just like how she sensed that the girl on the porch and the girl trailing after the one holding the other boy were completely different. They weren't related. Just then the girl that was carrying the boy, whose name was Avory, based on what the girl was saying, came running up. "Rose," she said. "They're coming. Avory saw it. And he says... Damion."

Damion

The word bounced around inside her head. The familiarity of it struck her as odd and a look of confusion passed her face, and then realization. And then everything came rushing back to her in a wave of memories. Stealing a glance towards the house where most people had gone, she gathered that they weren't paying attention to her. Using that to her advantage, she sprung up and darted off into the woods, grimacing as her headache tripled. As soon as she reached the cover of the brush, she concentrated past her headache. sensing no one had followed her, she continued farther in and then nimbly climbed a tree. Her lightweight small build made it easy to climb to the tallest branches, far off the ground, hidden in the leaves.

Everything was coming back to her in such waves of memory she had wondered why she had surprised it for so long. Her childish lonely personality full of fear and longing had shifted into a cold, determined, mind-set. Setting to work, she draped her backpack over a large branch, securing it so it wouldn't fall to the ground. Then she reached below the collar of her very worn, very tattered dress and felt the cool metal chain of her necklace biting into her skin. Pulling it out, she studied the necklace. An ancient looking locket hung on a silvery metal chain.

Isabelle froze. Was she doing the right thing? Maybe there was a reason she was running from the HVPR's. Maybe there was a reason she had left. Had escaped. Nobody has ever escaped. But nobody would suspect a seven year old would. To do something like this....

No. She had to follow through.

Picking up the locket she had ignored for several months, it being useless to her, she looked at it again. Scrawled onto the cool surface of the locket in cursive lettering were the letters "DPA". It had never made sense to her until now. SHe had ignored it completely. Carefully using her small fingertips to pry the locket open, on the inside was a small metal chip, the mechanical inter workings of the electronic device spiraled away from the center in a network of colorful dots. In the center of the metal chip was a tiny red button she had always been too afraid to press until now.

Taking one of her small fingers, she gently laid her finger on the button.

Should I press it? What is the worst that could happen? A lot of things. A lot of terrible things. Don't press it. But I have to....

She pushed down on the button. It gave out a faint beep and then a small red light started to flash on the side of it. she carefully closed the locket again and tucked it back into her dress so it wouldn't be seen. Letting out a sigh, she closed her eyes, hoping the headache would go away.

At that same moment, on the gunship the agents happened to be on, a small screen opened up on Elysia's computer screen. On the small screen it said "Subject 03071 'Isabelle; Psychic' GPS microchip activated. Exact coordinates listed are as follows:" With a string of coordinates attached. At the bottom in small fine print it says "Has made contact with Conners family"

((I know, crazy idea. Just go with it, it will be awesome. Mr Baneling Squishy, if you don't like this post or idea please tell me. I have a few ideas I would like to PM you))

Avory seemed to be getting his color back, but he did not look physically 100%. But that was fine, because even if he looked bad physically, his powers could be spot on. However, what he was really worried about was what he saw. Both from his visions, and in the mirror. His eyes were still glowing. He tried getting up, but found he needed to rest on the wall. He could feel cold wind. He looked around, and did not see anything.

"Where did everyone go?"

The house seemed empty, abandoned. He looked for people, first checking upstairs. He checked his father's room first, then the three bedrooms divided between the six of them. He remembered someone, but he couldn't remember who, complaining about how they could never find a house with a bedroom for each of them. Though, 7 bedrooms would be quite expensive. "8 even more so..."

He turned around to find Damion. "So, this is how you decide to talk to me now? Through my foresight?"

"We were close enough that I did not deserve that, Avory".

"And let me guess, you are here to convince me that turning myself in is the right thing to do?"

"No, I am telling you its the only thing to do. But that is not the only thing. I care about you, you know that".

"So why are you bringing so much violence?"

"You don't understand, and I cant just tell you. You need to see for yourself..."

"Really...and where is mom in all this? Where does she fit in?"

"Avory, it wasn't The Department that got mom. That was a lie. If you come in, I can explain everything".

"Just like how you are telepathically scanning my mind for information? Nice try. You wont learn anything from me, just like you wont learn anything from this house. And I don't care what lies you use, you leave her out of this..."

"You know your foresight would not act up like this if it wasn't important..."

"And you know you only got lucky that my foresight brought me into the same timezone as you. I might not always know how to control my foresight, but at least I know how to end this vision..."

Avory became fully aware again, but he had a headache the size of Massachusetts. However, it was less pain and more debilitating. But his eyes were still glowing, just not as bright. He actually got up this time, and muttered "We should leave now". He took out his compact bow and released the mechanism that let it deploy fully, loading an arrow into it and firing it straight towards a window. At the exact second he fired, an HVPR broke threw it, but the arrow pierced one of the ocular devices allowing it to see and knocked it back, causing severe damage and taking it down. "Someone needs to get the truck...and we need to run..."

Avory was still somewhat weak, but his foresight appeared to be working for him this time, as he was using it to literally know what would happen a second before they did. It gave him an edge, especially since he knew every point they would enter. He put a few more arrows into HVPRs, and used his telekinesis to recollected as much arrows as possible.

As he backed out threw the front door, an HVPR was launched over his head and really far in a tree. He could not see what did that, but neither did he want to. And with the HVPRs all over the place, he was worried about losing track of people. Luckily, their father always kept the most important things in the car. Their two youngest siblings, Rachel and Jeremy, were nowhere to be seen. They were probably with their dad. But for some reason, the dust was rising from the dirt road, making it a lot harder to see. It was almost as if someone was doing it on purpose.

"Where are the cars?! Where is the truck!".

However, he soon found one of his answers. He found one of the cars, but the trunk was open and the car battery was missing. "Who removed the battery, what possible purpose could that serve other then to disable a vehicle..."

At the same time, he could hear something in the background. A gunship, maybe two. At least this dust will make it impossible to see us from the air...

And that's when he turned and saw a figure, wearing black clothing, and holding a scythe. But it wasn't the grim reaper. It was real. It was a person.

His vision was not of death, but of a man with a scythe. A man, however, that seemed very powerful and very fixated on Avory.

(I swear, I start typing these things, and then they go placed I don't expect them too...anyways, great posting people! I bet you all have something to do with it, and I love what I am reading! Keep up the great work!)

Image"I know just as much as you do." She started with a sigh but then went for her locket and opened it up, on one side was a picture of her family and on the other was a brass clock with all the gears exposed in it's beautiful intricacy.
"If it's The Department," She said quite casually between gulps.
"I give them thirty minutes or less." She said as she noticed a bit of uneasiness on the girls face.
"Looks grim doesn't it?" She said, as she looked around at their mock militia. Avory was recuperating from some strenuous psychic feat, the girl next to her had only just regained her strength, Caroluna herself was without her trusty firearm and the only other defense she knew of was bickering in doors with some mystery person.
"It may look bad, but strength is in numbers... or so they say." Luna spoke, trying to be insightful and positive but she wasn't all too sure herself.
"All I know is that running won't work for ever. We can't live our lives scared of them." Just as Luna said this she heard the sound of breaking glass coming form inside and the site went up in plumes of dirt and soot, they were here. Luna hurriedly ran inside in search of her weapons, they were both laying on a wooden breakfast table in the corner, she picked them up and ran outside too see if she could make anything out in the plumes of dirt. She could only see a few steps ahead, and the soot in the air was making hard to breath without choking on particles. Luna put up a force field enclosure around herself that pushed the dirt out and left a clear space, Luna enclosed any one in her vicinity inside safely and kept a wary eye out.

Demetri Joane

Demetri suddenly felt very uneasy. Who says she can't run forever? Obviously this girl was not as good at it as Demetri, otherwise she wouldn't say such a thing. Just as she was thinking that though, a HVPR flew right past her and into the window. It shattered and pieces flew everywhere. Out of instinct she lifted her hand up and the glass stopped midflight. She heard gunships in the distance and she knew that her chances of escaping this were slim. She couldn't run from a fleet of them.

Why were there so many though? Was there something here that was so special? she didn't have any answers, but she knew one thing, she was running away from these people if they got out of this. Her first few minutes here and they had the department's army out for them. She ran into the house and looked around. Everyone was in a frenzy, grabbing weapons and shooting at HVPRs. It was madness. One of the machines burst through the window again and she made a sweeping motion with her hands, causing it to fly right back out and onto the grass. She heard a scream and crying up the stairs and she groaned as she ran up to see what happened.

There was an HVPR hovering over a little boy and girl. Weapons drawn and pointing at both of their faces. She made a split decision and ran toward the machine, taking out one of her knives and landing on it's back at the same time. She cut all the wires she could find, but was thrown back after a few moments. It turned around and aimed it's guns at her but they didn't shoot. She must have disconnected its weapon system. She kicked out and let a force out that sent the HVPR flying through the wall and landing with a crash on the ground.

She looked at the two and held out her hand. "Come with me!" She yelled. They got up and the girl grabbed her hand while the boy took hers. "Keep close!" She yelled. She looked out the hole the HVPR left and she almost lost her breath. Dust was everywhere, making it almost impossible to see. But where you could see, the HVPR's were in sight. They were everywhere, she couldn't get these kids out of here without at least three of them on their trail. She had to hide them.

"This way!" She yelled, since it was getting hard to hear over the roar of the gunships outside. She ran to the closet and threw the door open. This was the department, how could she hide the kids? Then she got an idea. She made a pushing motion and a hole formed at the top of the closet, leading up into a small gap in the fram of the house for the kids to hide in. "Here, get in!" she yelled, and hoisted the kids up into the hole. It was a tight fit, but they had a better chance of being unnoticed than if they were huddled in a corner. She grabbed the part of the wall the had fallen and handed it to them to set back over the hole and shifted the clothes to make that part of the wall unnoticeable.

"Now stay quiet and don't come out until I come and get you!" Then she ran back down the stairs and out the door to where the other people were. Why wasn't she hiding herself? She didn't even know those kids, why would she bother helping them? A cloud of dust hit her in the face and she lifted up her hand to shield her eyes. Right in front of the house she could make put a ship landing, and she knew that they had no chance. That's when she saw two of the girls out in the field. She ran up to them and yelled out, "The little kids are safe!" She didn't know if they would trust her or not, but she was going to try and help. If she didn't there was no way they would get away, and she was not going to be an agent.

As the ship landed and the door began to open, she hopped through the crack, leaving all the others in the ship. She couldn't see very well, but they had trained her well enough that she shouldn't have to. In front of her was a house, so that was the way to go. "Avory is mine..." She muttered to herself as she walked towards the house with a purpose. As she approached it though, she ran into an invisible wall. Through it was a girl, and there were two others on the other side of it. One face made her eyes widen. It was Demetri.

This was too good to be true, the two that had escaped her were both here. This might be the happiest moment of her life. She smirked at the girl and looked back at the one in the forcefield. She wouldn't be able to hold that forever. Although she was known by almost all psychics, she hoped that most of them hadn't heard of her. Demetri had, so she would know what to expect. But it was always fun to suprise them. She didn't look how she acted in the slightest. She placed her hand on the small invisible dome, crossing around it to face the two girls. She gave a small wave to them and smiled. Then she yelled in the sweetest voice she could muster. "I'm going to have to ask you to surrender, otherwise we will have to use force." Well, more force. She was pretty sure setting an army of HVPR's on their quaint little home would count as force. She silently hoped they would fight back though. She loved a good fight.

As the dropship descended Vance jumped out before it touched the ground landing himself in a tree and taking up a firing position with his sniper. He began to take shots at the enemy but with the storm all of the traq darts missed their mark greatly. Things began to get extremly chaotic for Vance and he knew he had to take some action but all the noise was deafening.

Breathing deeply he focused on the car alarm the most annoying of the sounds and muted the sound waves coming from it. It seemed the others had things somewhat under control so for now he took up a support role.

He then put away the sniper on his back deciding in this situation it was completely useless. He then began to reach out with his senses targeting the physics and picking out friend from foe. To him every psychic he sensed had their own signal though in general they were all the same. He then began to target the Conners and the other rogue psychics. He began to mentally manipulate the sound waves toward their ears creating a high-pitched whinethat started low but was clearly intensifying. This took concentration but Vance was hoping that in his current location it would be difficult to target him. He was really pushing his abilities though this was childsplay it was a lot of manipulation to do at once.

(I wouldn't expect anyone to listen to the whole video I didn't but that is basically it helps to skip ahead if anyone wants to hear it lol. If I forgot to tag anyone sorry!)

Jake

Everything around him happened like a blur. Where was everyone? His mind whirled around, his younger siblings where were they? He couldn't see his dad or anyone else. Standing up, his legs and senses shaking he ran as fast as his legs could take him. Spotting the car he ran up to it and jumped inside. Leaning over the front seat he let out a thankful small breath seeing Avory and Amethyst were okay. He still couldn't see his father, Racheal or Jermery and where, let alone Rose. He looked uncertainly at the unknowns in the car, the two females, but figured that if they were running with them they must be as scared as they all were.

"I'll drive!" he exclaimed as a high pitched whine started to ring in his ears. He took a breath, using his Bandage technique to dull the sound in his ears. "Everyone who doesn't want to listen to that crap hold onto me!" he shouted over the noise, he couldn't take it away completely but at least the mind wouldn't think it was coming to any harm. Seeing the tree fall in front of them Jake silently cursed, getting into the drivers seat and revving up the engine. To his left he could see a forest trail, not big and certainly not smooth, but big enough for the truck. Reversing with a quick glance at the scene around them he grimiced. He'd be leaving people behind. "If we are going to go we need to go now" he said, the tension and sadness evident in his voice. There was no way they could take on those agents, not like this, Avory looked exhausted, Thes was no better. He damned his own inability, he had never been an offensive fighter. His priority was his family, and right now he had an opportunity to save two of them. With some amount of regret he slammed on the accelerator and headed into the forest.

((Correct me if I'm wrong in anything, there was alot for me to go through!))

((@Makenna thanks for that, I'll change it when I have a chance!))

Jake was of two minds, between ramming the truck straight into the forest path or to try to play pinball with the hunters and see how well they could move with a vehicle hurling toward them. Thes was right, but only in an ideal situation and this was far from ideal. They were going to close in on them, and soon. One of the bastards was already trying to coax them out of the car, another small blonde one on her way on a HVPR. Racheal and Jeremy clung to him as he felt their hands shake on his arm.

"Don't you think I want to help them Thes?" he almost shouted at her, trying hard to keep his fraying nerves at bay. An hour ago he had been wishing for product for his hair, now he was just hoping to get his siblings out of this situation with their minds intact. His hands tightened on the steering wheel, flashing memories of when Damion had been taken flooding back. [b]"None of this should be allowed, but it's what we have to deal with." Tears stung in his eyes as he angrily blinked them back. He couldn't believe how pathetic he was being in front of his younger sister.

"Thes, I can have a good chance of saving the four of you, along with two others if we go now. Dad is strong Amethyst, he'll get away I know he will and Rose-". Jake stopped at the mention of his older sister. He hadn't heard her, not at all, normally she would have called out by now, she would have said something in one of their minds. They had her, they had to have had her. There was no way Rose would go down without a fight. "Rose, what would you do... ROSE! ANSWER ME!" his thoughts screaming, his energy willing for her to give them a sign she was okay. "I'd want you to leave me behind, if it were me. Please don't hate me for this. We can't win like this, we can try and get them back, but not right now." His foot hovered over the pedals, he couldn't just leave Rose behind, not without knowing he was doing the right thing.

Amethyst felt hot tears welling in her eyes. She couldn't leave her sister, she just couldn't. She knew Jake didn't want to, either, but that he was willing to do so for the sake of the others. But she... She couldn't. She'd never forgive herself if she did. Swallowing her sobs, she fixed her gaze on her older brother. "I don't care. If you're not going to help, I'll find her on my own. It's not like you'll care. You're gonna leave behind two family members anyway, what's the loss of one more?" She kept a fixed glare. Rose was probably unconcious or at least weakened by now, all the emotions. "So am I going to do this alone?"

Isabelle smiled in a creepily evil yet sweet looking smile at the two talking about Rose. She hopped from her HVPR onto a low-hanging branch, swinging like a innocent little girl, as if they weren't in the middle of a huge fight. casually dropping onto the roof of the car, she smiled again. Sh decided she would try and trick them. "Rose? Hmm I think I killed her. She won't be waking up anytime soon." She giggled at the last part, but then something went flying towards her. She didn't know what or who it was, but it slammed into her shoulder and she let out a cry of pain as she was knocked at least 10 feet back from the truck.

Out of panic, she put up a force field, but it was so weak. her head hurt so bad. Groaning, she shifted into a sitting position and watched as HVPR's started to surround the vehicle. Everything was perfect. Isabelle figured Rose might wake up at some point, and even though Isabelle had tied her up, the thought worried her. Glancing around, she sprinted back towards the house, determined to capture at least one of the Connors family.

(Err, you also forgot to mention the that you got into the truck when it was already moving, so part of your earlier post kind of sounded weird...lol)

Avory looked around, and tried to decide on what to do. Half of his brain was agreeing with Jake, the other half with Thes, and it was very obvious he was confused and conflicted by the look on his face. "I...I don't know. I mean, with what was back there, I just don't know. During the fight, this other psychic arrived. He wasn't an agent either, he took Damion heads on and was winning last time I checked. He...he tried to kill me, and using my foresight, I saw him in the future trying to steal my powers, which would kill me, and such. He was powerful, and he must have done it before, because I think I saw him use at least 4 or 5 different powers. I agree with Thes, but...I don't know how we can save him if he is still around. I was barely able to survive him before Damion intervened".

Avory wanted to go save Rose and find Dad, but he also secretly hoped they were okay. At the same time, Avory had to look out for HVPRs. "The HVPRs will probably be searching the woods, looking for us. If we even try to get close, they will probably spot us. And..." Avory started, but then he realized something. "During the fight, I deflected a car that was headed towards me! It hit the gunship instead! They don't have air transportation, so they will probably call in a ground transport instead!"

And there was only one road out of there: The one they were on now.

----

Damion looked at the other Agents, still having his fair share of battle scars, and looked at Ryan and Elysia. "I want that damn bastard found! I just got an attacked by a psychic with at least 7 powers! 7! From what he said, I can only assume he must have a power to steal psychic powers from other psychics. And he is here, looking for our targets! I want him found, and detained before he gets too far. I saw his battle style. He won't have any regard for Civilians, and he needs to be found!"

Clearly, whoever this attacker was had shaken Damion. Damion always preferred a calm, calculated perspective, so this outburst of rage and anger indicated that this psychic must be incredibly dangerous. He then took a moment to calm down, before asking "How many did we get this time?"

It was as if they had a clear road out of the arms of trouble that was was becoming farther and farther behind them, but to Luna the safety was sickening. She was fighting for family, the only blood she had left but she knew what it felt like to lose a sibling and she couldn't let that happen to anyone else, not on her watch.

"Stop the van!" She hollered at the top of her lungs as she shuffled through her bag for the bare necessities, she didn't want to be slowed down even in the slightest bit. All she needed to save the others was her, gun, knife and a clear mind.

"You don't want to make this mistake. I know what it feels like to lose a sibling and trust me you can never live it down. The department has my brother, and I let it happen. We let our guards down to hold a funeral for our parents in town, the whole thing was my idea. He said it'd be better if we held a makeshift funeral for them in the woods but my pride wouldn't let me part with them in such a half assed way. He was abducted by them that same day. In my family we rather be dead than used against one of our own, he was supposed to have... killed himself that day, drink a vile of poison but he dropped it in the scuffle with the HVPRs, I was supposed to finish the job, it's a deal we made and I couldn't do it. I couldn't look my twin in the eye and kill him. But either way he is gone and they might have turned him into one of them, something he would have never wanted and I have to live with that everyday of my life." She said, her voice wavered as she spoke but she refused to cry and be reduced to something so weak.

"I get that you don't want to send any of your family back and potentially lose them both, so I'm offering. I'm willing to do this for you, and partially myself. I guess it's my form of repenting. Just stop the van, please." She said with earnest eyes.

(Mr.BanelingSquishy, I know right? It is a pretty trippy picture. I have a fine selection of gifs to choose from on tumblr so I like to use them to add a little bit of aesthetics and stuff.)

(Also, as a recap who is back at the house that possibly needs to be svaed?)

((Rose has been captured and needs to be saved currently. No-one seems to know where the Connor's dad is))

Jake

He slammed on the breaks. For now they were in a truck, in the middle of a dirt forest road but they were safe. The agents from the DPA didn't seem to be following and the woods were suspiciously clear of HVPRs. But they were missing two of their family members. History repeating itself. he thought bitterly. First it was their mother and Damion, now it was their father and Rose. His mind raced, he tried to ignore Thes but her words cut deep. While Avory's admission not only caused him to shudder but to wonder what the hell they were going to do.

There was a homicidal psychic on the rampage with a bunch of agents back at the house, on the other hand there was probable a whole platoon of scum from the DPA coming down this very road once they realized the gunships were down. It was Luna who took him by surprise though, he looked back at Demetri and Caroluna in the back of the truck. Both were strangers to him and now one had just offered to go back to get Rose. The one who had spoke, her hair was a stark blonde, ash eyes and a little distracting until Jake pulled himself quickly together. "I can't ask you to do that, but we can't stay here. If Avory totaled a gunship the cavalierly will be on their way. We'd never get out of the forest in time..." he paused, biting his lip as he tried to think of a way to help his family.

"Going back would be crazy, anyone else would never consider going back. They'll never expect it, they wouldn't even be looking for us! his voice was almost giddy, optimistic. Maybe they could do this, they'd sneak in and get back their father and Rose. They'd have to run on foot to get away- with the forest road compromised using the car was out of the question. Well, unless they could make their own road. His eyes glanced at Jeremy and Racheal, his younger siblings could certainly make a bang and Jeremy was grinning wildly at him, the thought of adventure brimming in his mind. "My name is Jake Connors by the way" he said quickly, embarrassed that his manners had flown out the window even in the time of crisis. "And we are going to need some sort of plan".

Thes scowled as the little girl flew off the rooftop. That kid was ridiculous, t insane, and that was all therre was to it. Who was to say she even knew where Rose was? She was probably lying, to get them to leave, or worse, turn themselves in. It was a pathetic attempt, but Amethyst couldn't help but wonder... She shook her head. No. Don't think about that.

Amethyst listened to her older brother's proposition. She nodded slowly. That seemed reasonable, fair, the safest thing to do. It would make everyone happy. Unless Rose had been captured or... Thes groaned, willing her mind to slow. She sighed glancing to Jake. "Well, we're going to have to loop around somehow, a way they won't see us, and before they catch up." She glanced to either side. "We could always try the woods, but the truck may not fit, not in this area." She glanced around hopefully. "Any other ideas? Preferably better than my pathetic suggestion."

She couldn't believe it, they were actually going back for the girl. Yes she was their sister, but it was either her or everyone. Then Amethyst suggested a different route to go. She stared at them all increduously. The girl next to her brought the whole damn thing up. If it wasn't for that they could have driven far enough for her to just leave. But there was no way she would be able to get out of this hot zone without everybody else.

"We are going to go back? You know it's probably a trap. They'll already have her flying away on some ship while they wait for us to return so they can pick all of us up too." Dylan was there, waiting for them. The last time she saw her was a memory burned into her skull. The things that she had done, no, she would not let that happen again. But if she left that girl with her, there was no doubt she would do the same to her. Something deep inside of her called out for her to help, and she let out a sigh. "You're all crazy, and we're all going to probably get captured. But if you really want to get her back, I think I can help."

She looked at everybody a little nervously. Never had she done this before, it was always run away, not charge towards. "Okay, there's no way we can just charge in there guns blazing. That's there thing, not ours. But we can outsmart them. There's no way they would expect all of us to go back, some of us never even knew you until moments ago. If we could find some way to sneak back up there, I think I can get Rose back." Her plan was crazy, it probably wasn't even going to work, but she would not be at fault here. "Once we all snuck up, all of the Connors will run out and start attacking everyone. Except for Amethyst. I saw you changed how you looked. You are going to try and exchange yourself for Rose. When one of the agents gets close enough to you, you tackle them to the ground and move enough so people can't see you and morph into whoever it is. It will keep them distracted for Caroluna and me to get Rose and we can all hijack it out of there." It was a rusty idea and she certainly didn't like that she involved herself, but Dylan would butcher the girl until she helped track down this family.

----------------------------------------------
Dylan Simmons

She didn't like Isabelle. Dylan wasn't sure why but she found her voice to be annoying. This plan had worked horribly, and she felt it would too. They just stormed in, created a big dustcloud, and let them drive away. Not to mention the strange psychic with seven different powers. She found it amusing how much that weird guy got under Damion's skin. She sauntered up to him and put her hand on his cheek. "What's wrong Damion? Scared of a man who looks like he's ready for halloween?" She made a pouty face and patted his cheek. "Cheer up big guy, after all, you're the leader right? We just did what you wanted us to." Then she smirked and looked at everyone else.

"They'll come back. Two or three might run off but something about 'family bonds' will make the Connors come back for their sister." She looked to the place where she was being held and couldn't help but feel a whelp of anger rise that she wasn't the one to catch her, and that she would have to hunt Demetri all over again. The girl would find some way out of the forest, and she would be on the run again. The girl they had now, Rose, would be a good toy to let her anger out on. This girl wouldn't be able to stand for months when she was done with her.

As her anger rose she could feel the temperature rising inside of her. It was never visible on the outside, but when she got angry, her internal temperature rose and her skin began to get hotter. If anybody so much as touched her, they would feel it. Which was often a problem for her because she liked to touch people. If she couldn't hurt them it would mess with them. If she could, well if she could it wasn't really a problem.
