β–ΊAge
↣17β†’

β–ΊGender
↣Male.β†’

β–ΊAppearance Description
↣Nagito is a rather skinny youth for his age, and that fact is often emphasised by his loose clothes, almost hanging off him like a scarecrow. His skin is deathly pale, as if he had never been to the sun before. He is quite a sight to see, with his cream coloured hair always messy and unkempt, sticking up in several places. Nagito's eyes are an odd shade as well, a dull color that seems to be the blend of green and grey. Rings were said to appear in them if you looked close enough, which others rarely do because of how well he blends in with his surroundings. He might not be the most normal person you see out there, but he can make himself scarce in a second, earning him the nickname of phantom. β†’

β–ΊClothing
↣He dresses in a green coat that hangs well past his legs, far too big for him. It has a jagged edge, and is rather worn by the weather. Numbers of '55' were printed in what used to be an angry crimson red, yet had now faded in after years of wear and tear. He is quite proud of it however, always wearing it as it compliments his eye color. Its large size doesn't bother him at all, and he always jokes that it was something he could grow into. It is one of his most prized possessions, and he wouldn't trade it for anything else.β†’

βœͺ Lying βœͺ || He lies easily, hardly batting an eyelash or feeling guilty afterward. He doesn't need a reason as well, simply feeling like it is motivation enough to him. Hardly anyone can see through him, to the point that his heartbeat remains the same. It is a skill he has cultivated over the years, and if he gets caught, it would give him a new found respect for the person who managed to call him out in the middle of one.
βœͺ Speed βœͺ || His speed is admirable, much faster than one would expect. If he chose to, his usual lazy movements can become amazingly fast, striking out like a viper. While he doesn't usually display it easily, his hands are the ones that give it away, his fingers moving so quickly that you couldn't catch them. Truth be told, he could have became a skilled assassin, but Nagito never saw any interest in killing others.
βœͺ Disguise βœͺ || The art of disguise is something that he had learned from experience. With some simple tools, he can make himself seem like a completely different person. He doesn't consider himself an expert, but it is enough to sneak past distracted eyes.

β‹™Location: Whale Island|Date: December 19th|Time: 5:30 amβ‹˜
The streets of the normally quiet town were packed with people. Enthusiastic vendors quickly selling out of any and all items people deem useful. December was always a busy time for the town, but this year it seemed as it seemed like it was busier than usual.

The busiest place in the town was the harbour though, about two hundred people had swarmed around the docks, stashing bags wherever they could find free space. The hopeful applicants were counting down the minutes until they could board the boat, although some were more energetic than others.

After what seemed like hours, although for some it actually was, a solitary crew member announced that they were now allowed to board. Despite his plea for people to board in an orderly fashion, he was forced to bolt out of the way of the stampede of people rushing below deck in hopes of grabbing a hammock.

A few minutes later the boat began it's exit out of the harbour, leaving behind the now deserted town.

β‹™Location: Whale Island|Date: December 19th|Time: 5:30 amβ‹˜
Kita dashed onto the boat, helping lead the pack of people following behind her. The small black duffel that rested on her shoulder thumping across her back.

Being the third one to make it below deck, she managed to get one of the hammocks below deck. It wasn't that the boat was small, it was one of the largest boats that came into the harbour. Though since they packed the boat to it's maximum capacity, there wasn't enough hammocks for everyone. About a third of the people on the boat would have to sleep on the floor, and even though it was only one night, Kita did it want to be one of them.

Once she had placed her bag on the hammock, she made her way up to the main deck. She waved at her family who were standing on the docks. Her mother had decided to come into town to see her off, a rare event since her mother tended to avoid coming into town, sending her stepdad to get things instead.

Kita stood there waving until the harbour completely disappeared. Sliding down the side of the boat so she was sitting, before letting out a sigh.

"I can't believe I'm finally here." Kita said to herself.

Juro Yamada

Image

Juro arrived as the crowd began to pile in, the journey from Kakin had been long and arduous and as far as he was concerned it included more than enough boat trips to last a lifetime. As he made his way to the focal point of the crowds attention however, he let out a resounding sigh. Although just as quickly as he was flustered a simple shrug is all it took for him to get back on track. "One more time is all, I can deal." Juro reassured himself, as the crowd began to slowly pass him by. Before he'd realized it he had lost his place and was dead last behind the frantic crowd.

As the line continued Juro stepped to the side and toward the ships stern far out of the way of the raving pack. Taking a few steps back Juro positioned himself for a vault and when his trajectory was aligned he dashed forward and with an arched leap made it just barely on the Ships side. Pulling himself up the rest of the way gave Juro time to question if this alternative was really worth it, despite the brief moment of regret however, he managed to make it safely on deck. His crucial checkpoint was finally reached on the road to acquiring the title of 'Hunter'.

Finally after the long journey there was a moment of respite, and Juro placed his dusty satchel at his side as he rested his back on the ships deck. Unlike most he wasn't interested in a room in a cabin, he was too used to living beneath the clouds and sleeping beneath the stars. As he glanced at the rising morning sun above, a grin shined brightly upon his face as the realization sunk in that this was it, that start of his dreams to come.

Ami made sure that she got up early, she had a bad habit of being late, but this was one time that being late wouldn't be acceptable. She had packed her hand woven backpack full of herbs and clothing the night before, so all she had to do was eat something and get dressed. Once ready she headed to the docks.

As she approached the ship she looked around, there were so many different types of people. Out of all the people there, there were a few that seemed to stand out to her, all guys except for one small red headed girl. She followed them aboard the ship making her way down to the lower deck, she didn't want to be one of the unlucky people stuck on the main deck left out in the cold to sleep. By the time she reached the area there weren't any hammocks left, but that was okay with her. Sleeping on the ground was something that she had gotten used to.

She found a small place to sit, not far from the boy that appeared to be sea sick, the young girl, and the boy that she had seen playing what she had learned were called video games. She still didn't really understand the point of them, why pretend to go on an adventure when you could actually go on one? The video game boy then seemed to decide to put his game away and talk to the cheerful girl. She turned her attention from them to the boy wearing the blue hoodie. He looked miserable, maybe being below deck wasn't the best thing for him or anyone else that may have to deal with his future vomit. Ami really couldn't handle seeing him looking so sick, "Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice that you seem to have more than a little bit of sea sickness. I might have something that can help you with that if you are interested." She knew that this was a competition and that in a competition helping others wasn't usually the best decision, but if that was to be her down fall than so be it.

Image Nagito regarded the vendors and the crowd with amusement, both hands deep inside his pockets. This is perfect. As a peddler moved past him, his hand shot out in a flash, fingers moving quickly as they snatched at the purse around her waist. He pocketed it without the woman's knowledge, a wry smile on his lips as he slipped away, unnoticed by the gathering crowd. He loved instance like those, where the crowds' attention was too fixated on the ship to notice. It made his job so much more easier.

It wasn't to say that he needed the money, but it can never hurt to have extra cash on himself. When the crowd fought with each other to get on the ship, Nagito moved toward the vessel with a soft sigh, pushing past a few people with mumbled apologies. His hands were fast at work again as he moved past the bodies, and when he finally reached many people would find themselves parted with their belongings.

He leaned over the railings curiously, looking at the waves rocking the boat to and fro. Someone already seemed affected by that, and he had trouble keeping a straight face. The youth was wearing a hoodie, looking rather intimidating in size, though the mutterings of nursery rhymes ruined his image in Nagito's mind.

"Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice that you seem to have more than a little bit of sea sickness. I might have something that can help you with that if you are interested."
Grey eyes moved to a brown haired woman, immediately fixing on her back pack. She seemed harmless enough, but Nagito doubted it was worth it. The hand woven bag doesn't seem to contain many valuables. Still, it was possible to strike up a conversation. "Are you a doctor?" He turned to the woman with enthusiasm, looking genuinely interested.

While the girl near him was happily chatting away with another male who had been toying with some sort of rectangular, foldable box, Sanzi had been sulking and mentally cursing whoever was in charge of the examination. He was unhappy, very unhappy by this obstacle. He's seen those flying ellipsoid before. Why couldn't one of them be in charge of gathering Hunter applicants? It was as though the examiners didn't want people to even take the exam.

That thought had him tense up, blinking owlishly as his mind finally processed the implications of all that. Well, damn. So it was a preliminary round, and he was in a pinch already. The native of Kakin saw its mood worsen at that realization, but another woman chose that moment to approach him. Not only that, she actually spoke to him, seemingly undeterred by the aura of negativity floating around him. In fact, she was even offering him aid against his obvious sea sickness! Wasn't this a competition? Her offer was suspicious…she couldn't know about him, right? It was best test her a little bit, so the gloomy man put up a faint smile on his face, trying to appear semi-friendly, but since he was practically green, it looked more like a grimace.

"I would be very… grateful if you could do something about this…"he managed, forcibly pausing to keep the nausea down. He was confident that he could identify whatever poison she may show him or slip into what medication she may give him. This was also his opportunity to see what would be the dosage she would use on him. If she knew about him and was after the bounty on his head, she would be aware of his high resistance towards poison, which was unfortunately also applicable to medicine. Much to his chagrin, that meant that, if she was truly trying to be helpful, any normal dosage she would try on him wouldn't work, and she would be wasting her time and resources, but that would at least remove one person off the list of potential threat. And increase his list of potential ally by one, but he didn't really want to think of that too much because he knew he would only drag her into a mess that was his and only his. For now, he just wanted to get rid of this sickening feeling, especially because it attracted attention like dung attracted flies, judging by the way another male popped up near them.

He squinted to get a better look at the teen. He was skinny as a twig, looking as though he would snap in half at the slightest breeze, and was as pale as a sheet. If anything, it looked as though he needed more help than Sanzi did, but a thought couldn't help forming in his mind. At least he hasn't been defeated by the gentle waves of a tranquil sea. A bead of sweat slid down the side of his face, dislodged by an angry twitch of Sanzi's left eye, and the teen would suddenly become the victim of the swordsman's deadliest glare and painfully competitive nature. Damn that brat.

Ami smiled at him, happy that he was willing to accept her help instead of thinking that she may be poisoning him, which if had wanted to do she could. She took off her backpack starting to look through it for the right herbs when a younger male came up to her, he looked like he might have been a teenager, a very sickly pale teenager. "Are you a doctor?" he asked her with some enthusiasm in his voice. If he was that energetic it was unlikely that he was sick.

"Sort of," she replied to the boy as she pulled some ginger out of her pack. "I'm working on becoming one, but I want to do it in a less traditional way, using herbs an nen." She then pulled out a bit of peppermint and a unique looking flower. The flower looked a little like a daisy, but with alternating navy blue and royal purple petals, it was a called a martous. This type of flower was only found in NGL and it had special properties that helped with motion sickness, but worked especially well for sea sickness. The downside to the flower was that it had a bitter taste. After the flower she pulled out a small bit of sugar cane for flavoring, a bottle of water and her mortar and pestle. She put a small bit of each ingredient in, with a tad bit more martous and mixed it before adding a bit of water. She held what looked to be the complete mixture in her hands, it was kind of a mucky dark blue color. Ami focused on it and it changed to a clear liquid with a tint of blue. Prefect, she thought. Ami handed it to the boy with the hoodie. "Here this should help." Then as an after thought she added, "I'm Ami Hisan by the way."

Juro Yamada

Image

Juro plopped upright, the constant swaying of the ship wouldn't allow him the moments rest he'd desired. Although, his training in the past had prepared him for going as long as a week without sleep, his laziness no longer allowed him to do it. He no longer aspired to hone his edge and so it dulled as of now he could at most keep up for three days on end. But the thought didn't bother him at all, the training he'd received was never his choice and so he recognized it not as a gift but as a burden. One habit however that grew on him from his training was to observe your surroundings, it was a nice diversion to get out of his own head. He perched himself on a decent vantage point to get a view of the deck, even as the ship swayed he matched it's flow to generate balance, the waves were not a problem as long as he was consciously awake even though he didn't want to be.

"Out of sight, out of mind" he recited, a common phrase that was instilled into him at a young age. Most people aren't interested in anything that exists outside their line of sight, whatever isn't perceptible may as well not exist to the masses. That was always the point however, to not exist. Juro smugly grinned at the thought, the archaic practice of stealth was useless to him now even if it was engraved into his genes. His purpose turned back to getting out of his own thoughts, and so he examined the people who populated the deck. Many of which were keeping to themselves, looking over their shoulders every chance. Even those who did interact had an air of distrust between them, before coming here the nature of the Hunter exam was never a thought on Juro's mind but as he studied the mannerisms of those around him, it became clear. Everyone was on edge, expecting something to happen.

What it was however, Juro decided not to concern himself with... Yet. In the meantime, a hooded man was serving as the subject of his study. His skepticism in the face of a seemingly harmless girl, seemingly in the sense that Juro wasn't going to jump to conclusions but on the outset she was surely harmless. Or the other pair, as he shifted his attention to the most lively eye catching specimen on the ship. A young girl conversing with a peculiar red head, whose eyes seemed to narrow in on every word the girl innocently churned out, his skills of observation made Juro shutter and thereafter decide to stay away from that one. Being analyzed is one of the most uncomfortable things to experience, Juro thought as a the realization of his own hypocrisy made him turn his gaze.

"Seems to go on forever, doesn't it?" Nehr turned around to see Del, standing behind him. Del was rolling a sucker between his lips, grinning mischievously. "Stole this off some poor bastard when he wasn't looking. You got your fists, I got my brains. Together, N, no one here can stop us." Nehr returned his gaze to the sea, somewhat tired of Del's rambling. They had known each other since childhood and where they grew up, you made friends or you didn't make it. Del wasn't as smart as he thought he was, but that didn't matter. Any time he fell into something he couldn't handle, he would simply run to Nehr to fix it, and thus the cycle would continue. Del walked over to the railing and leaned over it, his eyes darting from one person to the next, 'analyzing' the competition. "Well now, there are some attractive young ladies on this boat. Too bad we might have to kill them." Nehr shot a glance to Del who was waiting for it, his eyes glaring psychotically at his friend.

"We have to do whatever is necessary, N. Not everyone got into some fancy school like you. Some of us had to survive the street. I'm not going back to that hell, N. Even if I have to make sure a few don't see the end of this exam." Nehr turned away from Del, his gaze returning to the water. "I don't think that's how this works, Del. It's about merit, not about who is left." Del smirked, returning his glares to the others on the main deck, forming opinions, likely wrong ones, about his fellow examinees. "They have to pass someone, got to. I plan on being that person even if it means I'm the only one left." Nehr gripped the guard rail tightly. "Don't you mean, we?" His hand removed from the rail, revealing that his grip had nearly crushed it, his finger lines clearly indented. "Come on, N. You know that's what I meant." Del let out an annoyed sigh. While Nehr's gaze was fixed on the water, Del returned his to everyone else, his intent to kill, if necessary, almost radiating off him like a bad omen.

"Nice to meet you." Asimov state with a close eyed smile. He then opened his eyes and intently listened to Kita's words. "Deep Sea Hunter? Sounds pretty exciting and like a lot of work. I probably wouldn't be cut out for something like that. Your stepdad must be one hell of a Pro Hunter!" Asimov exclaimed, looking a little sheepish at his own admission.

So he was correct. That monster on the deck was her stepdad. If he was a Deep Sea Hunter, he must fight all kinds of giant beasts and pirates and what not. If he had given her any kind of training, she was probably a lot more dangerous than she appeared. Also, she wasn't lying when she said that, but she wasn't being entirely honest. There was something she was holding back deliberately. From the way she acted, it was probably important to her. Honestly, Asimov was intrigued with this girl. If he wanted to know more about her, he most likely shouldn't press the matter now. Perhaps if they get to know one another better.

Kita then countered his first question. He looked surprised and pointed to himself. "What? Me? He seemed surprise she asked. After she confirmed what she said was correct. He sighed a little bit a looked out over the ocean. "The answer to that question is a little complicated." He paused for a brief moment before continuing. "I guess my reason for taking the Hunter Exam....is to beat it. All my life Ive just sort of gone from one game to the next. I guess I'm just hoping that becoming a Hunter means that I'll get to play the worlds hardest game and that it never ends."

He then looked back at her. "Don't get me wrong, Kita. Just because I'm referring to being a Hunter as a game, doesn't mean I don't take it seriously or that it doesn't have consequences. in fact, only the best games have consequences and there is nothing in this world I take more seriously than games." At the end of his sentence, his almost dead tired eyes seemed to light up with fire and determination unseen in Asimov before.

He then composed himself and gave a quick chuckle before rubbing the back of his head. "Sorry about that. Guess I'm just excited for the exam. Hehehe." Asimov laughed a little awkwardly before getting back to normal.

Wanting to keep the conversation going, he started anew. "So.....what do you think the Exam's going to be like? I hope it's clever."

While he was talking to Kita, Asimov had never stopped observing his surroundings. Cici said it had something to do with his natural En. There was someone trying to remain hidden who seemed to have focused on him for a brief moment before turning away. The young girl, named Ami if he heard right, was aiding the sea sick kid talking with a skinny blonde kid.

The one that currently stood out the most was farther down the deck. Two guys around his age, one seemed angry but controlled, the other was emanating pure bloodlust. Guy was not subtle about it at all. He either was stupid enough to announce his intentions to the entire ship, or he was unaware he was doing it. Either way, Asimov would decide to avoid those two.....perhaps challenge them to a game if the opportunity presented itself.

"Sort of, I'm working on becoming one, but I want to do it in a less traditional way, using herbs an nen." Nen? It was the mysterious energy source he had heard, but it's details were never too clear to him. It was with some amazement that he realised that many might have already come into contact with it, as the thought that people other than hunters have access to its knowledge before had never occurred to him.

"I'm Ami Hisan by the way." "Nagito. It's a pleasure." Just as he finished answering her, he felt a glare burning through him and turned around, meeting its owner eye to eye. He still maintained a carefree manner, returning his glare with a cheeky grin. He had no idea why the man seemed to be after his blood, though he had a inkling that it had something to do with his seasickness. He wasn't really frightened of the older male, though he seemed quite well built compared to his frame. Worst comes to worst, he can make a run for it. Rarely was anyone able to catch up with his speed, so he was relatively safe most of the time.

His eyes drifted half heartedly over the rest of the crowd, fixing themselves on a few more interesting ones. A girl with fiery red hair, tied into twin tails was engaged in conversation with a youth with dark red hair. Nothing too threatening there. What he was most concerned about was perhaps the two men standing in a corner, both of which seemed oddly dangerous. One of them was already showing his bloodlust, and though Nagito was fairly sure that he would be able to get out of it once again, he could tell that the man was dangerous, to say the least. But so was everyone in the competition. People were all selfish, so it wouldn't be odd if they tried to kill each other.

Even if they did, it's not like it would concern him. There were two things he hated to do, fighting and picking a side, so he would probably be staying neutral in any case. Of course, the best circumstances will be that they will finish each other off and he would be able to get away, escaping as usual.

"So, what's your name, hoodie?" He asked casually with a tilt of his head, turning his attention back to the people he was standing with. The man's nickname was established right off the bat, and even if he chose to tell him his full name, it would stick with him for the rest of the time they meet.

Kita thought the boy seemed fairly unsure as to why he was taking the exam, but from what she gleaned he was in it for the challenge, and he obviously took challenges very seriously, even going the extra stretch to remind her of it. Although, anyone could see he was passionate about it by the way he spoke.

"No problem, I think we all are. Well, maybe not him." Kita laughed, gesturing towards the seasick boy, who was getting help from a girl now, the only other girl on the boat actually, and a boy talking to them, but he was still obviously ill.

Kita tilted her head to the side."Hmmm, well I know the actual exam location changes each year, so it's never the same. My stepdad told me it almost always starts with a marathon to the first phase. For the rest of the exam they're supposed to test everything, physical, mental, and anything else they want, it’s really up to the examiners. Lowering her voice so only he could hear, as to keep other people from listening in."Before you even start thinking about the main exam, you have the pre-exam to worry about." After pausing for a moment to look around to make sure nobody could hear her she continued. "My stepdad told me that the hunters association hires people to make sure only the people that are prepared and fit to take the exam get to the site. So it's a good idea to stay on everyone's good side, even if they don’t seem important."

Letting a loud sigh, she returned to her normal speaking volume. ”Well that was a mouthful.”

The way the ingredients turned colors under deft hands was enough to be alarming, but the herbalist then mentioned Nen. It was a term that Sanzi had heard before although his people preferred to refer to it as Qi. That alone meant that she was not from the Tangs although he couldn't be too sure yet. She did not look too dangerous though; her build did not betray any physical training she could have gotten to make her an immediate threat so Sanzi had to gamble with what she offered him.

The concoction acted fast, a lot faster than normal medicine and he felt heat pour out of his own body, as though an invisible force fighting off an intruder, an outside source of Nen. It was a reflex he had yet to control as the whole Nen thing was very new to him and he had inherited way more than he could normally handle, so it wouldn't be too far-fetched for anyone familiar with Nen in the crowd to detect something amiss. Nevertheless, it settled not without forcing to let out a silent burp though, and alleviated his condition until the dizziness he had previously felt was nothing more than a slight feeling of sporadic vertigo. It had worked better than expected, but not well enough to warrant his distrust.

"Hoodie is just fine, but if you must know, San Zi" he responded in lieu of introduction, eyeing the lanky teen with what could be interpreted as a triumph. Just to make sure that he was fine, he got up on his two feet and made a few steps towards his bag when he concluded that he was back to his optimal state. There, he undid the rope tying him to the rails of the boat and took out two bottles of pills and down them in one go to squash what discomfort Ami's medication had not managed to rid him of. He wasn't too worried about interactions between medication as his blood was poisonous enough to give medicine, poison in controlled dosage and form, a run for its money under normal circumstances.

"I've got limited amounts of these," he said, as though that explained everything. They were the meds he had stolen from nearby pharmacists and veterinary clinics. He had thought that since this Ami Hisa was capable of producing more medicine to fight off his sea sickness, he wouldn't need to bother with extra pills and may as well consume a few. Absentmindedly, he began twirling them, while he fished out a bundle from his belongings.

He had not eaten in a while, after all, and it wouldn't do to take on the hunter exam empty-stomached now that he knew it had already begun and he did not risk projectile vomiting at the slightest tilt of his world. When he unwrapped the clothes, they revealed three meat buns, signature dish from the continent of Kakin. He handed one with a half-bow to the woman who had helped him. "Please accept this as a token of my gratitude."

His eyes then darted to Twigs and, without warning, he handed the kid another one. "Eat." He had taken notice of a few dangerous characters on the deck. Although he wasn't the best at reading the mood or people, it wasn't too hard to take not of those whose body language screamed 'I want to Hulk smash something.'

Just like every other trip, as soon as they had made it out to open water the captain, and a select few crew members, had broken out the alcohol in the bridge. All of them had sailed this course many times before, so they were confident in their abilities, especially since this was a relatively easy course. It was open water until the reached the port the next morning, and it was dead ahead.

What they hadn't accounted for was the wildlife. In their drunken stupor, they didn't even notice the large shadow approaching the ship, or how still the waters had become. Suddenly there was a loud bump against the side of the boat, throwing everyone above deck to the port side of the boat. As the monstrosity rose out of the water, the applicants faces all plastered with looks of terror.

Ami watched San Zi take a few steps, she smiled happy to see that her remedy had helped. She watched him pull a pill bottle out of his bag. He mentioned that he only had a limited supply of whatever it was that was in the bottle. In response to his comment she said, "No problem there is plenty more herbal medications that I can create if you need help." Ami was happy to have helped him out, but even happier that she may have just made ally. With her limited physical abilities she'd need all the friends she could get to help her survive.

Unexpectedly he then handed her a meat bun, "Thank you. I know that this will be of some use during the exam." She then put in her backpack to save for later. She had already eaten that morning and felt it'd be better to save it for later.

She took a moment to look around the room again, she noticed some guys that were clearly blood thirsty. She made a mental note to stay as far away from them as possible.

Suddenly she felt something large hit the side of the boat, knocking her off her feet. She then heard an unusual sound coming from above deck, "What is that?"

Image "Hoodie is just fine, but if you must know, San Zi"
"Ok, Hoodie then!" It was easier to remember, and it did make the other much less intimidating. Hoodie really wasn't such a bad person after all. Either that or he was just brainless. He added as an afterthought, watching him swallow all two bottles of pills after steadying himself on the boat. He is going to die of overdose, isn't he? Nagito watched with a horrified fascination, as if he was waiting for him to drop dead this instant. When San Zi showed no sign of doing so, the carefree air around him returned.

The man opened a bundle then, offering the girl a meat bun for what she had done. "Eat." "Who, me?" His eyes widened with shock as he was offered a bun. What had he done to deserve it? Nagito was puzzled, but he wasn't going to turn down a free meal. "Thank you." He turned to Hoodie with a genuine smile, bowing his head in thanks. However, just as he took the first bite, something hit the boat, causing his hands to lose their hold on the bun. It fell to the deck of the ship, much to his disappointment.

"What's that?" "I don't know. And I don't think you want to stay around long enough to find out." Nagito had half a mind to just jump off. He could possibly make it to land without catching the attention of whatever had bumped into their ship, but it didn't seem like the most logical decision. His fingernails were digging into his hand hold on the railings with a death grip as he thought, the boat rocking wasn't doing any favours.

The monster struck then, and Nagito thanked the heavens for holding on so tightly beforehand, as he felt his body lift from the impact. It would have sent him flying off the ship with his weight, but he held on with a vice like grip, gritting his teeth and using all of his strength to secure himself. "Hoodie! Grab the Doc." He really wasn't going to be of much use, the least he can do is hold down like his life depended on it. Hopefully San Zi might be able to work something out. His faith in that man seemed a little unwarranted, but if someone could swallow so many pills and not die of a overdose, that person was someone to be respected.

ImageSanzi, or San Zi as he had introduced himself, had instinctively reached for the sword strapped on his back and bent his knees to maintain his balance when something struck their ship. People and what appeared to be containers of beer flew over, tumbling down the width of the ship's deck, forcing the occupants that were still standing to scramble out of the way else be crushed or knocked overboard.

This must have been the first test! Fighting giant sea creatures. He was good at fighting so this was perfect. Adrenaline coursed through his vein, and the Nen stored within his body heated the air. Sanzi was about to launch himself after the beast when Twigs barked an order to secure the doctor.

"What? Don't give me orders!" he snapped back only to drop on all fours to maintain his balance as another attack shook the boat. To say that he wasn't very good at teamwork was an understatement, but the boat was rocking dangerously now, so much that Sanzi had to latch onto the nearest mast with all his strength. The doctor was fortunately closest to one of the stairs leading below deck, so he launched himself at her, leaving a dent in the wooden deck, and tackled her down into the opening while using his bag as a cushion between them before an incoming barrel of water could have stricken her down.

The stairs were cramped and Sanzi had fallen in an ungraceful heap of limbs, tumbling past two gruff and dangerous looking men who were making their way up. He was sweating, core temperature having risen above that of a normal human, but he got back onto his feet. "Take this if you want to stay above deck," he said, handing her the coil of rope he had previously been using to secure himself to the boat's rail. "That thing is bigger than the ship and won't go down easy. Do you think you can come up with something to weaken it while we distract it? Use my things if need be." It was a known fact that Sanzi was a lousy poison maker, but he had nevertheless received training from the best and had a habit of keeping some plants and insect corpses at hand wherever he went. It wasn't enough to create anything spectacular, but he trusted Ami to be able to make use of them.

OOC: I think lina was a bit confused. We've been above deck all along so I took the liberty of tossing Ami in between both places ;D

Kita smiled. This Asimov guy seemed like a potential future friend. Her eyes wandered towards the water, and she was startled to see how dark the water had become. A moment later she realized what was happening and grabbed onto the side of the boat just before the boat was hit.

As the monster rose out of the, Kita's eyes widened. She had seen a lot of things when she went out on the water with her stepdad, but never anything this big, and more often than not they were relatively passive if you left them alone. This one, on the other hand, was obviously hostile.

Turning towards Asimov, she spoke. "I hope you can fight, that thing obviously isn't friendly, and there's likely someone from the association watching us too. " She looked up at the monster, it was long and black, almost like a massive eel, at least four times as large as the boat, it could probably break it in half with ease. It lacked scales, but it's skin was obviously thick enough to withstand a fair bit of damage. It obviously wasn't going to be easy to take down. The only possible weak spot she could think of was between the eyes like a shark, but they were nothing alike, so that was unlikely. "To be honest, I have absolutely no idea what this thing is or how to hurt it. So unless you have a plan, I hope you like improvisation."
