yet sweet appearance, as
well as his gentle eyes
I never want to give up
on my dream. I'll do anything,
go anywhere, and always
stay smiling.
sensitive . a trait that shows just by looking. Since he was a kid, Akira has always been easily moved to the point of tears. Many would describe him as a person with a big heart full of empathy, though some others would leave it as "crybaby."
focused . Akira isn't one for messing around. When he sets his mind to accomplish something, he sees it through. He hates when others don't take things seriously, whether it be for school or work, and has been known to lose his usual composure during group projects.
loyal . if there's one thing Akira strives to be, it's reliable. while not one to brag, if there was one good thing he'd say about himself, it would be that he always keeps a promise.
timid . not to be confused with speaking in general, but rather stating his wants or needs, even if it's something like needing to eat or use the restroom. He struggles with having something that he wants to say but being too shy to say it in fear of bothering someone.
gentle . he loves things that are soft and cute, and is definitely known to have a kind spirit. Being very empathetic, he's good at understanding people's feelings and knowing how to treat them. A good friend to have when you're feeling down.
selfish . less than he thinks, but more than he lets on. He can be a bit resentful of his habit of putting others before himself, and wants to be able to only worry about his own self every once in a while. He doesn't really realize it's natural to feel this way, and sometimes berates himself for having those feelings.
forgiving . almost to a fault . No matter how bad someone treats him, he never holds a grudge. He realizes not everyone is going to like him, and figures everyone just has their own problems.
Likes: making music . anything sweet, anything spicy . cute fashion . animals of all kind . rhythm games . sugary drinks . muscular boys . chocolates and candy . rainy days . flower bouquets
Dislikes: dancing in front of people . inequality . procrastination . being under pressure . romance movies . long books . hot weather . sour foods . animal cruelty . pushy people . bitter drinks
You're a weird person. But even so, I like you.
Growing up, Isao Akira wasn't aware how he was different from the other kids until it was too late. He loved things that were considered "girly," such as fashion, flowers, sweets, and most of all singing. He was often bullied by other boys, though because of his good attitude, he never let it get him down. Most of his friends were girls who were drawn to him for his kindness and sensitivity, which unfortunately led to more bullying. Overall, he was always quite popular among his classmates, and generally well liked. It wasn't until he entered middle school when the bullying stopped and it became much easier to get along with everyone. However, by this time, he began to realize just how different he really was.
It wasn't until then he suddenly he realized how other guys really weren't the same as him. He liked pop and upbeat music more than other boys did. People gave him strange looks when he and a group of his female friends would browse cute shops. Girls he was on good terms with might confess their feelings to him, and each time he would gently turn them down. He poured his heart and soul into his music and was told by others that it was strange.
He became disenchanted with the things that normally made him so happy, and so he confided in a certain friend. Was it normal for a boy to be like this? To be so sensitive, to be so infatuated with cute things, to be more interested in boys than girls, to want to sing and dance. The things he cherished, the things he took so much joy in, the way he felt. Was it normal? Was it okay?
"Hmm, maybe it's not normal after all, Akira-kun." his friend replied. As his heart began to sink, the friend went on. "But, just because it's not normal, I don't think that's a bad thing, either. Because the way you are is how you are, and that's what makes you so great, Akira-kun!"
Akira didn't know the last time he felt so relieved or when he had smiled so genuinely. The clouds in his heart finally cleared, and from that day on, he decided he was going to live honestly. He decided he was going to put all his effort into following his dreams, and set out to become an idol, wanting to make others smile and inspire people to be themselves, too. ✩
