Introduction
A long time ago, in a not-so-far-away place, supernatural creatures and humans lived together in harmony, a long time of prosperous peace. That was the norm, up until the hunters came around. After that, the supernatural was shunned, and anybody associated with it killed. Fearing for their lives, the creatures hid, carrying on their lives pretending to be ordinary humans, many of them dying of old age. But a few stuck around, and watched as the hunters faded away, and the supernatural was denounced as fiction. But now, the hunters are back, and they won't show any more mercy. They want to kill. Unsure of how to deal with this problem, the supernatural have dug their way even farther into their mundane lives, choosing to ignore the rising problem, and the signs that show that they're not human, grouping up with anybody else that they can find.
Prairie Hills is a small town in South Dakota, making it the perfect place for anybody trying to hide. It's small, out of the way, and surrounded by prairies for miles on end. Almost everybody here is human, and almost all of them are perfectly unsuspecting. But there are a few of them that call themselves 'aware', all because they know that supernatural creatures exist. They want put an end to anything not human, and they'll take any steps to accomplish that. They are having a bit of a hard time finding the supernatural, however, because they're good friends or in a relationship with them. But they're slowly recognizing the signs of the supernatural. Werewolves tend to be a bit hyperactive during full moons, and vampires aren't 'morning people'. Quite a few of the hunters dismiss the signs, though, because their close friends show some of the signs, and those people can't be 'tainted creatures'.
