PERSONALITY: Ioannes is both a silent and talkative type. He is silent when not talking about military and political matters, but once a conversation's been struck with him, he would be speaking with his centurions in such great lengths. He is a very careful planner, but that doesn't mean he has no intuition. He is very intuitive, but when the time of great intuition is needed, he requires communication with all his officers. He is nothing outside the military. He has no wife, and is not an excessive drinker of alcohol. He refuses to be with women in inns and bars, to the point that he is sometimes considered childish by his critics. He lives a quiet life outside military and political affairs, spending his time alone at home, writing poetry, stories, accounts, memos, and, on occasion, his own music; he also likes playing the piano.

BIOGRAPHY: Ioannes was born to a simple plebeian family. However, his hardworking father and mother got the entire family into a position where Ioannes could live in peace and study in peace at the College of Law. Because of his upbringing, Ioannes, always strived to be greater, to be greater than a plebeian, and to help those around him rise up. Unfortunately, he was kicked out the College of Law for his collectivist and anti-democratic ideals, and so, he joined the army. He applied for and passed a course which turned him into a centurion. His prowess and skill in leading and combat were realised when a war broke out between the Republic and a separatist state. His century swiftly crushed the enemies, and he became legend in his cohort. Eventually, when the senior centurion was killed, he was elected the senior centurion, and his cohort, 500 men strong, became the most skilled, using their manipulable ranks to destroy the enemy from a distance with long-range guns.
At the end of the war, he had been promoted immediately to primus pilus, the most senior of the centurion ranks, leading a double-strength cohort of a thousand men. His intuition and tactical and strategic acumen became popular in a campaign to the east when subduing a large archipelago of multiple warring states in the east to bring 'civilisation' to them. His campaigns succeeded, and made his name known throughout the entirety of the legion. His tactics of using mobility to their advantage in flanking manoeuvres became very much widespread throughout the legion, and soon, the legatus was taken advice from him. They took the entire archipelago in three years, and was hailed in the parade alongside his legatus, who was crowned with the civic crown. Now, his popularity was enough. He joined the Senate, finally, and had the highest number of votes. Many of his contemporaries despised him for being a plebeian who rose through the ranks of the military with his genius and arts of warfare. His reforms brought about many good things, and the plebeians loved him for it. He made allies in the Senate who wished to stop all the bickering by making the government smaller, which the Senate was not. Eventually, there came a rebellion perpetrated by an anarchist movement. He crushed them swiftly, and campaigned against various other factions related to the anarchists. However, a terrorist plot perpetrated by Katilus, a populist and anarchistic terrorist, ensued and destroyed the Temple of Harmony, where the Senate was discussing matters regarding Katilus himself.
With the terrorist plot at hand, Ioannes finished campaigning and returned to the capital. He crossed the River Vitae with his XII Legion while the rest of his legions garrisoned the areas the anarchists had taken. Upon crossing the river, he destroyed the enemies stationed in the capital, and recaptured it. However, the damage to the Republic has been done. Crowned military leader by the people, Ioannes marched on the new capital: Garmanum.
