Ashlin Rei Gregory's Story

Rylin

Rylin woke up at eight am sharp, the trip was going to be about a three hour drive so she told her friends the day before that they should get an early start. She looked over to her sisters bed and only saw a blob of a blanket but she knew her tsin was under the blanket. Suddenly she felt a lick on her face which made her giggle and reach for her puppy. "Well goodmorning to you too Loki" she said to her yorkie puppy as she got out of bed "do you have to go out?" she asked the dog in her arms and watched it wag its tail, "Ill take that as a yes...might as well take Magpie out also". She grabbed her sisters maltese puppy off Ashlins bed, grabbed a sweatshirt and took the dogs outside. She put the two dogs down on the ground and put her sweatshirt on when she noticed it was snowing, she hoped the weather wouldnt get too bad. Once the dogs where done she ushered them back inside and to her room where she grabbed her outfit, a pair of jeans with a dark blue sweater, that she picked out the night before when she packed Ashlin and her bags. Before she went to take a shower she went and nudged her sister a bit. "Ash, Ashy time to wake up" she heard some kind of a mumble, deciding that was as good as a response she was going to get, she headed to the bathroom where she took about a fifteen minute shower.

After her shower she got dressed, blow dryed and straightened her hair, and put on some light makeup. When she decided she looked as good as she could she left the bathroom and headed into her room where she saw Ashlin dressed and packing a few things she didn't pack last night. "Im going to send everyone a text to make sure they are up and on their way, ill be out in the kitchen..oh and make sure to wear a sweatshirt or something, its starting to snow" she said as she grabbed her bags and her dogs dog crate and went out to the kitchen. She out her bags down, sat down in one of the kitchen chairs, and sent a message to her five friends.

To: Zoe, CC, Violet, David, Liz
From: Ry
Hey just wanted to make sure your up. Wear something warm, its snowing. Hopefully will be leaving in the next hour. xoxo

Ashlin was sleeping peacefully under her mountain of blankets when she felt a nudge to her side and her sister telling her to get up. "Five minutes" she mumbled then rolled over to her side and tried to fall back to sleep but Magpie decided to wiggle her way under the blankets and lick her face. "Okay okay im up damnit im up at this god awful time" she still didnt understand why her sister wanted them to get up so early but she wouldn't expect anything else from her sister. She pushed the blankets back and very slowly got out of bed, she then got dressed in a pair of dark green army pants and an olive long sleeve shirt. She put her hair into two ponytails and put a black bandana over her hair and out some black eyeliner on. She then put together a little bag for the car ride, the bag heald her ipod, some candy, cards, and a bone for Magpie. It was then that Rylin came in, telling her to wear a sweatshirt and she was going to text the others, the her sister was taking her things out of the room. Ashlin just nodded, grabbing her black roxy sweatshirt, she put it on then put on her combat boots, then when she was all ready she grabbed her bags that Rylin packed last night and went out to the kitchen, Magpie following behind her. She put her bags down and took a seat in the chair across from Rylin "We better be stopping for dunkin donuts cus me needs coffee."

BZZ BZZ Adam reached his arm out from under the blanket to grab his phone from the night stand. The bright screen lighting up his face, making him squint his eyes. Hey just wanted to make sure your up. Wear something warm, its snowing. Hopefully will be leaving in the next hour. xoxo It's from Ry, I guess I gotta get up now. Adam threw off the covers and sat up, running his hand through his golden locks. He looks at his clock, still early, he thought. He swung his legs off the bed and stood. He stretched his body and walked over to his bathroom. He undressed and hopped into the shower. Turning on the water, Adam gasped as the coldness hit his chest. "At least I'm awake now." He washed up, dried off, and got dressed. He wore a soft gray t-shirt and some blue jeans. He pulled on some socks and slipped on shoes.

Adam grabbed his phone and sending texts to both Ry and Liz.
"To Ry
From: CC
I'm up sweetie. I'm going to start making my way over there in a few. <3"

"To Liz
From: CC
Good morning beautiful, I'll see you in a bit."

He stuck his phone in his pocket and grabbed his keys. He put on his jacket, grabbed his bags, and walked out the door. Adam put the keys in the ignition and cranked up the suburban. Good thing he had a car that could fit so many people, they would be screwed without it. He let the car warm up, lit up a cig, and cracked the window. He sat there, blowing the smoke out the window. Once the car warmed up he put it in gear and backed up. He drove for 10 minutes until he got to Ry and Ashlin's house. Adam pulled up into the drive way, turned off the car, and got out.

Adam walked up to the door and walked right in. All of them did that, they were all family so it wasn't weird. He walked into the kitchen and saw them sitting there. He greeted Ash and kissed Ry on the head, then took a seat next to her. "Good morning. It's snowing, I hope it doesn't get worse or else it'll make this trip a little difficult."

Rylin

Rylin felt her phone buzz and read the text from CC and smiled then looked over to Ashlin when she sat down and mentioned dunkin donuts "Im sure we will be able to stop on the way" she said with a smile, she then heard the door open and soon she saw CC come in. Her face brightened when she felt the kiss on her head and then heard him say goodmorning and mentioned the snow. "Goodmorning and Yeah I noticed the snow when I took out the pups earlier, hopefully it wont be too bad but we have your suburban so we shall be fine" she said with a hopeful voice. She felt her phone buzz again and a knock at the door, Ashlin said she would get it so she opened her phone and read the text from Zoe and quickly wrote a message back to her friend.

Do you need us to pick you up?

Rylin then lookes to CC "We might need to pick up Zo on the way and also stop at Dunkin Donuts for Ashlin, I can vet us a box of donuts and drinks for the ride" she smiled, luckily her parents where at work already.

Ashlin

Ashlin laid her head on the table and yawned, she was glad that they where stopping at dunkin donuts because she definately needed some mojo. She half waved to CC when he came in slightly rolling her eyes when he said goodmorning "Im not exactly sure whats so good about being up this damn early, really Ry couldn't we gone a little bit later?" Before she got an answer she heard someone knock at the door "ill go get it, you lovebirds stay where you are". She got up and went to the front door and opened it to see Liz there, in a skirt "You know you can just come in silly...and you are going to freeze, and most likely Ry will say something about it just forewarning you" she said ushering Liz in, then taking a look outside, she wondered where Vi was at, she decided she was going to find out. She looked at Liz "CC and Ry are in the kitchen, we are just waiting for the others to get here" she then took out her phone and sent her a text.

From: Ashy
Hey where are you my Lucky girl? Dont tell me your still sleeping :P

Liz smiled when Ashlin opened the door and told her she didn't have to knock. No matter how many times they told her not to knock, she still would. What if the one day she didn't knock, she walked in on some secret and they got mad? She didn't want to risk it. Then Ashlin pointed out her skirt." Thanks Ashlin. And yeah, I know, she's gonna freak, wish me luck," Liz told her, grinning. She walked inside and held back a yawn. She was still tired, but didn't want to show it. "Hey, I'm here!" Liz called out, walking to the kitchen. She couldn't wait to go on their trip, she loved the winter and skiing.
The house was warm, and only after coming inside did she realize she was cold. A shiver ran down her back and she started rubbing her arms to warm up.
"Jeeze, it really was cold out there," she muttered, walking into the kitchen.

Adam nodded at what Ry had said and sat there, taking note of Ashlin's sleepy state. "I could use some donuts and coffee, good idea Ash." There was a knock at the door and Adam assumed that it was Liz. Ash got up from the table to answer the door and lone and behold, it was Liz, sporting a skirt. What is that crazy girl wearing, though she does look good... Adam smiled, a dreamy smile at Liz when she walked in. "Jeeze, it really was cold out there." Adam watched Liz take a seat, noticing that she was shivering. He got up, took off his jacket, and placed it around Liz's shoulders. "Here, you can wear this, I'm not that cold." He ran his hands quick and stealthy down her shoulders so Ry wouldn't notice the small bit of affection he was showing for his secret mistress. He sat back down and asked "Anybody hear from Dave?" while leaning back in his chair, exposing his stomach. He watched Liz from under his curls, smiling ever so slightly, checking her out.

Violet woke up with a start, glancing at her clock she gasped and jumped up.
"Damn it!" She squealed and ran to the bathroom, washing her face with a sponge she realised she didn't have enough time to have a proper shower.
Slipping into a pair of white skinny jeans and a plum coloured washed out jumper she pulled on her favourite combat boots and - judging by the weather, she needed a big coat.
She rushed out into the lounge and picked up her ready-packed duffel bag, stuffing her keys and phone into her pocket.

Her phone bleeped in her special ringtone she knew was Ash's.
She smiled at the message and replied:

From: Vi

Almost there..Kinda ;)

And shut her phone, running out of the house.

Luckily they lived only a few blocks away and she was able to sprint there in about seven minutes.
flinging open the door she grinned "I'm here!" She pants and looks at everyone there already "Whoops, I guess I'm late? Sorry."
She bites her lip and shuts the door "God it's snowing badly." She says looking at the now harsh snowstorm forming outside.

Liz smiled when Adam gave her his jacket. "Thanks," she mumbled, trying to not act like it mattered. She was thankful though, as she was already warming up. She looked over as Adam sat by her and leaned back. She quickly looked forward, knowing that she would end up blushing if she didn't. Liz was studying the wall in front of her as if it was the most interesting thing in the world. Really, she was just trying to distract herself from the boy beside her. She was always a bad actress, so pretending he wasn't there was her back up.
"No, I haven't heard from him," she said softly. The only ones she'd talked to were in the room with her right now. She really didn't text or call people unless they contacted her first, unless it was very important.
Liz went through a mental check list of everything she packed, making sure she didn't forget anything. Did I remember my iPod? Or is it in my desk.... No, no, I put it in. I must have,she thought, trying to remember. She knew she should go check, but she didn't really want to get up at that moment.
Liz then remembered sticking it in a side pocket, and relaxed. She couldn't like without her iPod for more than a day. Liz leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees. She was sleepy, and feeling a tad impatient. "Are they coming?" she asked, to no one in particular. If she had to wait for too long, the chances of her falling over asleep on the ground was very likely. "If they're gonna be awhile, I need coffee now." She put stress on the word 'now', hoping they'd understand she was really tired.
[i]What time did I go to sleep?Oh yeah, around 2 am," she thought bitterly, rubbing her eyes. Usually in the mornings, she'd start out awake, and waste all her energy in five minutes causing her to shut down. This, was one of those mornings.

Rylin

As Liz walked in and mentioned it was cold Rylin shook her head "Well its your own damn fault Liz, I did send you a text telling you to dress warm, but you decide to wear a skirt...a skirt really Liz, really?" She laughed then felt her phone buzz not once but twice. She read the two text messages she got from Zoe and David. "Well I am guessing we will have to pick him up on the way to gey Zoe, so all we are waiting for is.." just as she was going to say Violet's name she heard the front door open and her Ashlin squeal and heard Violets voice. "Nevermind I guess we should head out then. I call shotgun" she wanted to sit by Adam on the way and she wasn't a fan of sitting in the back anyways.

Standing up she called for Loki and saw her small yorkie puppy run over to her, she picked up the small dog and put him into the small dogcrate and then grabbed her two bags and headed to the front of the house where she saw Ashlin leaning in to give Violet a kiss. "Okay you two there will be enough time for that on the road and at the cabins, lets pack up the car and get going ya?" She smirked at her sister who was now giving her a look, but then called the back seat. She didn't understand how her sister could sit in the way back, she would definately get sick if she sat in the back, her friends all knew this though, they experienced it.

She dropped her bags and put down the dog crate as she got her jacket on, then picked up her bags and went outside. She definately didn't understand how Liz could wear a skirt in this outfit "Oh Liz where stopping at Dunkin Donuts on the way, im getting us all donuts and we can get some srinks" she called out to Liz then went to Adam's vehicle, they where lucky he had a vehicle that held all of them so they didnt have to take two cars. She opened the back and stack her two bags in the back then put Loki, her purse, and camera bag in the front seat and then got herself settled in and then beeped the horn twice. She then took out her phone and sent Zoe and David a message.

We are packing up now. Will be swinging over to pick ya up soon.

Ashlin

Ashlin was about to head back into the kitchen but then heard the door open and saw Vi walk in. She squealed and wrapped her girlfriend in a hug "Hi!" she grinned then let the raven hair girl go."Your not late, just on time..well in my book that is" she then leaned in to give Violet a kiss but was stopped by Rylins words. She rolled her eyes and gave her twin a look then looked back to Violet and gave her girlfriend a quick kiss on the lips. "I call backseat with Vi!" she yelled then looked around for her dog "Magpie!" she called out and her small white puppy came running to her. She picked up Magpie and went and put her in the small dog crate then grabbed her jacket, she put it on then grabbed her bags and went back to Violet "C'mon hun lets to go put our stuff in the car and get settled in the back". She then quickly made her way into the living room and grabbed a blanket then went back to Violet "Okay!Now i am ready" she said with a smile then walked outside "last one out make sure to lock the door" she yelled back then went to the vehicle.

She put her things out back on top of Rylins bags then took her dog, blanket, and small bag and climbed into the way back where she got settled in, taking out her ipod that Violet and her could listen to. She put Magpies dogcrate on the floor and put the blanket over her lap, it was big enough for it to go over both Violet and her. She watched as Rylin beeped the horn and she rolled her eyes "Patience is a virtue Rylin" she said with a smirk, then laughed when her sister flipped her off.

Violet laughed and kissed Ashlin back taking her by the hand and rushing downstairs, ruffling magpie's fur she twists a piece of soft black hair between her fingers.
She got into the car and grinned, "We have to get some coffee!" She stated, half-asleep.

She was so glad to have chosen comfy clothes as not only was it freezing but the ride there took ages, hopefully she'd be able to get a nap in so they could go out when they got there.
Violet unzipped her bag and pulled out her hairbrush, she hadn't had time to do much this morning, and began to brush her raven hair. After doing so she pulls her hair into a messy bun - to keep it out of her face - and leans back against the soft cushion she decided to bring with her.

Looking over at Ashlin she admired her girlfriend who seemed to be always in a good mood, smiling she stretched, yawning softly.

Adam stood back, watching all his friends gather their things and head out the door. Once the last person had left he made his way to the door, locked it, and shut it behind him. He stood on the porch while everyone loaded their things. He tucked his hands into his jeans and tucked his head down, trying to shield himself from the biting cold. He watched as his friends laughed and packed themselves into the vehicle. He jogged to the drivers side, threw open the door, and hoped in. He started up the car and turned on the heater. The engine was still warm from the trip up here so it didn't take long for it to warm up. He rubbed his hands together and turned around. "Everybody good. Got everything packed?" He put the car in gear and backed out of the drive way. He made his way to Dave house because it was the closest.

Violet

"Babe, you can't talk you're stunning." She smiled back at her Ash.
Vi laughed at her girlfriend and her (Girlfriend's) sister bickering and put her seatbelt on.
Placing over arm around Ashlin she hugged her closer and pulled the blanket over her feet, curling them under.
Violet laid her head on Ash's and closed her eyes - Tired.

Rylin put her hand in Adam's lap after he sat. He smiled and squeezed her hand "Make sure to put your seatbelts on." Adam shook his head but was thankful she mentioned it. The snow was getting bad and he wanted everyone to be safe. "Cc did you bring your gps? I can put in the address of the cabins." "Yeah babe, it's in the glove box." He motioned to the compartment while keeping his eyes on the road.

"So, am I gonna get coffee?" Adam looked in his rear view mirror and met eyes with Liz. He smiled at her grumpiness and thought it cute. "All in time Lizzy." He wasn't sure if she hated or loved the nickname that he had given her. He was the only one that called her that and it was his way of showing her that he was thinking of her.

They pulled up in front of Dave's house in no time. Adam saw him standing on the porch and wondered how long he had been standing out there in the cold. Ry started to get out of the car and stopped herself. Instead she opened the door and motioned Dave to the car. Adam chuckled at his girlfriends unawareness of her surroundings. After Dave got situated, he greeted him and headed towards Zoe's place. The snow hadn't let up yet and it was starting to worry him. "I hope this snow lets up."
