âClose Protection/CQBâ Hand-to-Hand67% of modern American assassination attempts are within âclose quartersâ by means of concealed small arms or blades
- Cybertech Social/Cultural Research, 2059Having previously worked âbodyguardâ security for Cybertech Corporate Jacks is skilled in disabling threats when the use of a gun is possibly too cumbersome and ineffective.
Bio:Not much is known of Jacksâ parents, the police found him abandoned in a basket, room littered with strung out junkies. He struggled to make any friends or close connections during his orphanage upbringing, keeping to himself barely saying a word. As Jacks got older he began to come out of his shell, especially when he realized he was physically stronger and more intimidating than personally believed. This manifested from a single event as a teenager when one of the other kids pushed Jacks over in the canteen ending with the bullyâs nose broken and two front teeth swallowed.
Leaving the orphanage at 18 Jacks joined Cybertech Security as a trainee recruit, assigned to cover the doors of non-important buildings. Over the years Jacks proved himself both physically and mentally, disabling threats to the company with words and as well as takedowns. By 30 he was head of facility security, managing teams for Cybertech Research labs.
Five years later he was approached by Corporate to orchestrate close protection teams for their valuable executives and scientists, offering him a substantial contract if he also accepted to training as a Fire Team Reserve for the Special Activities Division. In his mid thirties Jacks was balancing full-time senior bodyguard work and part-time training as fire support. Flying the Cybertech banner high, he felt there was no risk of deployment due to his age so the extra pay check felt like easy money that is until the outbreak started.
As Minnesota fell the VIPs were taken and secured in bunkers. Jacksâ job role quickly became active duty crowd control for the Special Activities Division, pulling him away from any personal or family life into combat on full-time standby.
Specialty Weapon:Cybertech Modified M2055 SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon)
with APRIL Sight SystemBased on the M249 SAW this modified LMG is Cybertechâs answer to modern machine gun technology.
Cybertech patented spring releasing bipod
Additional fore grip for extra combat manoeuvrability
An electronic feeding/firing system, which offers double the rate of fire over the previous M249 giving the M2055 a unique firing sound.
Warning: Ion activity causes this weapon to malfunction and potentially fire without user interaction. Unloading after any recent Ion cannon blast is highly recommended.A.P.R.I.L Sight System â Cybertech Private Patent (ALICE Partnered Radar Interface for LMGs)
Coupled with an integrated green light laser and sonar technology this sight system detects and counts hostiles both visible and out of sight to the user within a 50 ft range. APRIL updates with ALICE showing a numeral count and visual representation of threat location(s) (Red diamonds with distance reading) for target acquisition without the need to look down the systemâs scope until firing. This information can also be uploaded to other squad membersâ ALICE systems real-time via voice request. APRIL has a switch toggled battery life of approximately 2 hours; Ion disturbance will deactivate the system automatically.
Sidearms:Standard Issue .45 clip-fed pistol
Equipment:Reinforced 'Heavy' AEGIS combat suitHaving seen and heard the injuries incurred during other SAD Fire Teamsâ missions, like hearing what happened to âsome tough sumbitchâ called Lynch, Jacks wanted a bit more than your standard protection. Cybertech deemed it suitable for the Crowd Control role to be issued with the 'Heavy Class' version of the AEGIS if requested. Offering substantially more protection at the cost of mobility. Jacks especially gets a personal kick out of the additional presence this suit imposes, not to mention the 'big ol' shitkickers' he can now stomp around in.
ALICE Interface with Crowd Assessment and Tactical Awareness UpgradeUsing the default ALICE system Jacks has also received the CATAU module. Its main purpose is to enhance his APRIL Sight System target read outs with details such as vitals, speed and individual threat level.
