Molly paced restlessly behind her couch as she though of what to do. She didn't like the idea of sitting around, but it sure as hell sounded better than being out there with them. What ever they were exactly. She thought about the other day when she was on her way home from a meeting with Commander. Supposedly the CDC created some kind of 'cure' for the new flu that was going around, but currently the people injected got very sick very fast. Commander stated that the civilians were getting chaotic and the President wanted all Military on stand by, they didn't know how bad things could get if people kept getting sick.

Molly flung herself over the back of the couch to sit down, blowing her hair out of her eyes as she did so. She was supposed to report for duty on Monday morning. "Have your asses there before the sunrises, otherwise I'll have you clean the shitters with your tongues." He said sternly before leaving her and four other Officers. Last thing she wanted to do was clean the damn bathrooms, she wanted to be out there at the range. She hasn't fired in several days and the though of getting rusty made her eye twitch.

A loud bang claimed itself on the door. Molly jumped but took her time walking to the foyer. Looking out the stained glass window of the door, a grotesque man stood in her line of site. She gasped at the disfigure face, one eye was popped into oblivion while the other just kept looking up. The mans jaw was slanted to the side unnaturally and his skin was covered with blood. He banged on the door again, cracking the glass. Molly took a step back and wrapped her hands around her XD that sat in its thigh holster. She was glad that she hadn't changed out of her cargos and Marine Corp. sweat shirt. The thing banged against the door harder this time, making the tinted glass shatter at Molly's feet. She looked nervously at the man. I have a feeling he's not here for the book club. She thought as she made sure her gun was loaded.

The guy had his hand in the window now, being cut by glass that refused to fall. Pointing her gun at the mans head she pulled the trigger. The sound of gun fire rung her ears in the small corners of the foyer. Squinting her eyes she watched as the man crumpled to the grass out side her door. Being careful of the blood covered glass she looked out her window, to see other people just like him. Smashing on doors in the small neighborhood, or chasing squirrels. Hell she even saw a young girl bent over some kind of animal. Blood and entrails covering her clothing and face.

Molly screamed as a women shoved her face into the glass, reaching for her. She quickly dashes into her room and grabbed her survival pack that she always had ready. Picking up the Carbine and several boxes of ammunition for both of her Fire arms she made her way to the back sliding glass door. She stopped to get her wallet that was full of cash, she silently thanked herself for cashing out her paycheck the other night. Molly crept to the back door and opened it, peaking her head out into her fenced back yard. Making sure it was clear she headed for the back door to the garage. Slipping into the darkness of the garage her fingers slid across the smooth paint of her jeep. Sliding the keys into the ignition she opened the garage door with a button on her key chain. Pressing the gas the jeep rocketed out, the top of the garage door sending sparks as it grazed the top of the jeep.

I have to go to Commander. She felt unsure of what to do, but knew her Chef of Commander would know exactly how to handle this.

There were times when Molly wasn't even able to get on the road, barreling through yards and on sidewalks so not to hit the people who lurched at the jeep. Her knuckles turned white as she gripped the steering wheel, and a migraine started kicking at the front of her skull. She had to get to the Hospital, that's were Commander had posted her with Jameison, Paul, Herrington, and Baker; the other four Officers that were in her unit.

Upon seeing the hospital Molly's stomach dropped. Her blue eyes grew wide as she stared in horror, body bags littered the ground along with a group of Marines shooting down men and women from behind sand bags and barb wire. She didn't expect everything to go to hell so fast. The jeep lurched as she ran over man, his face smashed in to the glass and caused it to crack. Molly screeched but didn't stop. Driving around the sandbags she parked next to a Marine style tank. Jumping out she was met by the four other officers.

"Carson! Thank god, we thought you bailed." Jameison yelled over the gun fire. His eyes were worried but his voice was calm. Molly shook her head, "What the hell happened?!" She pointed to Paul and Baker who laid sprawled out on the sand bags taking aim while Herrington used the tank to machine gun people down. "Those people are innocent." She screamed to be heard and tried to rush over to the Officers, they didn't need to be killing innocent civilians, even if it was a damn order.

Jameison grabbed her arm, "No, those people are not innocent. Hell we don't even think they know what they are doing. Commander said to Kate. Thats a direct order from the damn President!" He said loudly. Molly's eyes widen when he said Kate, Kill. All. The. Enemy. The President?

"But..." Molly tried to protest. But Jameison shook his head, "No buts. Get your M4 and get your ass out there." Molly didn't question him as she ran to the jeep to receive her assault rifle. She jumped to land on her stomach next to Baker. Who smiled but worry etched his expression. He gave her a nod before gunning down a women with only one arm.

"Don't shoot! Baker don't shoot!" Molly screamed. Jumping over the sandbags and barbed wire she rushed to the two women. "Stop! Stop!" She had to stand in point blank range of Baker's rifle before he even considered lowering it. "Their alive." She whispered. Placing her M4 on the ground slowly and putting her hands palms up she said, "I won't hurt you." She looked at the two women. One was fading, fast. Her wounds were fatal but the look on the other women's eyes rattled Molly. Turning her head slightly she yelled, "Medic. We need a Medic!" Herrington jogged past Molly and lifted the one injured women, taking her into the small blockade. "Look, you need to move. Your covered in blood and lets hope to god that you aren't cut." Molly gently lifted the women by her arms and turned her away from the blockade. She didn't want the the women to see what Herrington was planning. Her wounds are fatal, she wouldn't survive. The sound of a gun shot made Molly tense and the women scream.

Paul took a step forward, planning to grab the doctor but Molly glared at him and shook her head. He narrowed his eyes but didn't move any further. Stepping aside Molly let the doctor stabilize the women with a sedative. "Part of being a Marines is that is it mandatory to learn Combat Life Saver Course or In-Field Medicine." She said softly as she met the mans eyes. "I'm Sgt. Molly Carson. This is Major Paul, our medic Herrington, and our sniper Baker." She held out a small slender hand for him to shake. "We are the only Marines based in your town."

She spared a fleeting moment to look a Paul, his face emotionless but anger flared in his eyes. Molly could just hear him yelling at her, she was saying to much. Molly looked back at the tall man and flashed him a crooked smile of perfectly straight teeth.

"James Wishbeck, I'm a Trauma doctor." He looked at her outstretched hand for a moment then shook it "It's nice to meet you, shame it's not in better circumstances." He smiled back at her, his teeth less that perfect, slightly wonky in places and slightly yellow from smoking.

He then glanced around at the other marines, first at Paul, then Herrington and finally Baker. He did not much like the look of any of them, but then he had never been particularly fond of marines. Molly seemed friendly enough, however, and he was glad she was present.

"So, we're the only ones left? I suppose i shouldn't be surprised - the hospital's overrun. So what's the plan here? We'll be overrun if we stay here."

Taking a packet of cigarettes from his jacket pocket, he removed one from the packet and placed it in his mouth, pulling a lighter from another and lighting it. After taking a long, satisfying drag, he replaced the packet in his pocket.

"There's a house a couple of miles south of town, Dr Fisher used to live there. He died a couple of months ago and it's been sitting there. Big house, 10 foot wall around the grounds and big iron gates. You want my advice - though i'm not sure you do," he shot Paul a look "That's where we should go."

"James." Molly nodded and filed away the name in her subconscious name book. He seemed a bit shifty as he looked at the guys. James asked about the plan as he smoked a cigarette. Molly went to reply but Paul took a step forward, speaking before she could mumble a response. "We are finding base. You are welcome to do what ever you want." He shifted his Carbine so it was behind his back.

"Paul, we can't-" She didn't like the idea of leaving a man behind, and if that man was a doctor he was very valuable and a current limited edition.

"Major." Paul snapped at her, his posture and voice hard. Molly's eyes grew wide, they have been friends forever and not once has he ever pulled rank. Baker stepped up beside Molly and squeezed her shoulder but she shrugged it away.

Taking a step forward she stood face to chest with him. "Major, we cannot leave this man here. He knows a safe place to create base. Hes a doctor." She tried her hardest to have her eyes as hard and cold as Paul's.

Paul shrugged, "That's why we have Herrington." He stated and rubbed his dark stubble. "We already have that god for saken' women of your in the damn tank. I will not take more civilians." He turned his back to her and walked away, kicking away empty shells of ammunition on the ground.

Molly quickly walked behind James and pushed him, "Get in the damn tank." She whispered. Helping him in she made Baker do the same. "Then don't." She said louder for Paul to hear.

"Don't what?" He turned and took off the Carbine, resting it on his knees as he sat down on cement bags.

"Don't take more civilians. I will." With that she started to climb the tank, but not before Paul grabbed her ankle as he stood.

"Doesn't work that way Molly." He sneered. "I can't help more people."

"Why not? You always talk about helping people. You signed your rights away when you inlisted Paul, you are obligated to help these people. Weather you like it or not. Get your damn ass in the fucking tank Major." She spat and climbed in, holding the top open for Paul who slowly made his way inside. Molly turned away from him as he glowered at her. "Where to?" She asked and looked at the James.

James climbed into the tank - he was not about to argue and lose his place in the tank. Once inside, Molly turned to him and asked "Where to?".

"Take the freeway south out of town then exit 93. The third left after that is a little dirt track that leads to the house, but this thing will never fit down there so i'd suggest cutting across the fields." He replied before turning to the unconscious girl and checking her pulse again. It was a little stronger and her skin felt warmer to the touch - the threat of shock had subsided.

He turned back to Molly. "Well, i think we'd all feel a lot more at ease if we got to know each other a little better. What's your story? How did you end up here?"

James was anything but at ease. Being surrounded by angry, volatile men with guns did not help. Neither did the sights he had seen within the hospital. Nor did being in a tank - he had never been a huge fan of confined spaces.

"Right. Big ass tank, small dirt road. Got it." Molly nodded and turned to Paul. "Get out."

"What? Why?" Paul eyed her. Anger still finding its way on to his face.

"I need you to drive my jeep. That thing will fit down the road, plus I want another vehicle." She explained as she eyed James check the woman's vitals. Color was showing on her cheeks, letting Molly know her heart was pumping correctly and pumping blood to her head. Good.

"You drive then." He puffed and looked away.

"No. I don't trust you. Just get out, your making me nervous." She said and squirmed in the small tank. Having him out would put her nerves at easy along with everyone else's. It was easy to tell he wanted to argue but clamped his mouth shut and climbed out. Molly watched as he got in her black Wrangler Jeep and pulled up next to the tank. She gave him a thumbs up before ducking back into the hatch.

"My story? Uh... I was stationed at the hospital for tomorrow morning but my house was broken into by those things. So I rushed here. What is it they they have, what kind of disease is it? How did it spread?" Molly's mind was riddled with questions for the doctor. This was not normal. People never just walked around after their heart stopped. Maybe in movies and books but never in reality, and it scared her shitless.

"At first we thought it was an outbreak of rabies, when the first few cases came in. The aggression and the irrational behaviour - it was characteristic. But the antivirals didn't work...and then patients we declared dead started coming back to life."

He remembered the first...he'd declared a girl no older than 16 dead. No heartbeat, no breathing...the as he turned to walk away she began thrashing about. They'd restrained her, given her a strong sedative...but it hadn't worked. The dose had been enough to leave a grown man three times her size unconscious for at least an hour - yet she had not stopped thrashing about, groaning, screaming.

It didn't seem possible.

"I don't know what causes it, but all the cases i've seen transmission has been by biting. The disease makes them extremely aggressive and they seem to want to bite anything that moves. My advice on avoiding infection - stay as far away from them as you can."

James shifted where he sat.

"Y'know, i've never much liked marines. No offence." he said, trying to change the topic away from their current situation "My boyfriend left me for a marine. God i hated that fucking douche...not that i'm bitter or anything"

Molly laughed wholeheartedly at James comment. "I have to agree, we tend to be dicks." She smiled and weaved the tank around or just over scattered cars, if there was no room to move it. "Your boyfriend joined the Corp.?" Molly asked casually. Molly was no stranger to people who were into the same sex. Her best friend from high school, Bruce, had been into women since she turned 12. And Molly had supported her like a friend should, with double dates and bar hopping with her boyfriend and Bruce's current flirt. The thought of her best friend made her smile. They were the kind of people that maxed out the credit cards on 85 proof vodka and fruity liqueurs because it was Friday and Bruce happened to get paid.

James laughed "Oh god no, he left me for a guy who was a Marine. Big ugly guy with a crooked nose. God knows what he saw in him!"

The bumpy ride as the tank went over abandoned cars was making him feel rather unwell. Several times his head nearly hit the roof of the tank - he was too tall for this.

"God i could use a drink. Lets hope Dr Fisher has a liquor cabinet!" he said, stretching "What about you. Any men in your life? - aside from the three musketeers of course..."

Molly was beginning to grow on him. She seemed like the sort of girl he could go out for cocktails with and bitch about men. And the sort of girl who could beat the shit out of anyone who got on her bad side. He liked that, but he'd always been drawn to strong women - he wasn't sure why. He supposed it was to do with breaking stereotypes or something along those lines, but he had never analysed it in any real depth.

James laughed and quickly moved his head down before it hit the ceiling of the tank as Molly drove over a small box of a 60's Volvo. Molly instantly liked the way his smiled lit up his face, she could see him in her inner circle of close friends, someone Bruce would introduced her to at one of her weekly bar nights.

She snickered slightly as she noticed Jame's discomfort with all the bouncing around. It reminded her of the first time she rode in one, puked all over her Major. And she thought he was an ass before that. "It's the uniform." She said simply, implying about Jame's ex-lover leaving for a Marine. "For some reason people are drawn to the uniform and badges." Her hair swung on her shoulders as she shook her head before saying, "No men in my life. No live ones anyway. Lost my husband a couple years back," She absently touched the sliver dog tags that rested on her chest. "Stepped on an IUD, blew up. Stood right next to him too, cost me 5 pound of medal and over 100 stitches." Molly cocked an eyebrow and touched her right hip, extending her olive drab shirt a bit so he could see a large pink line of scar tissue that started at her navel and moved its way to her right hip and extended beyond the waist of her cargo pants.

Molly laughed softly, "Sorry for the sob story. Do you like working as a doctor?" She asked and pulled her shirt down, seeing if the conversation would move in another direction. Not that she didn't like to talk about Corrigan, and she had a feeling her and James would become close and he would know everything later on, but she just wasn't in the mood to talk about him. Always made her scar itch and her mind to go all fuzzy.

James was sad to hear about Molly's loss - he could only imagine how devastating it must be to lose your husband. His longest relationship was with his toothbrush.

"Do you like working as a doctor?" she asked, hiding her scar away.

"Sure, it's really rewarding and all that bull shit you're meant to say. If i'm honest, the hours are crazy long and i spend my life treating druggies who've overdosed and teenagers who can't handle their drink. I did a stint in Haiti with Doctors without borders though, that was real trauma medicine - the sort of stuff that makes all those years of studying worth it. Next exit's 93."

James had thought he'd never see anything much worse than some of the things he'd seen in Haiti. People trapped under building, legs so badly crushed that they were hardly recognisable as legs. Children bleeding out despite all his efforts to save them.

Haiti may have been bad, he thought, but it was a walk in the park compared to this. At least he had been able to save some people - now, he was helpless. He wasn't even sure whether he should feel sympathy or disgust for the...former humans that now plagued the city.

"Haiti. Ya that was bad. Had a couple Jarhead friends deployed over there to help the search an' rescue." Molly laughed as she turned on the highway, adding, "They sent a shitbrain of a man named Davidson to help. Bastard managed to get squashed by a building. Ask me, he deserved it. Twisted son of a bitch." She chuckled under her breath. Death wasn't something you wished upon people, but not all people deserved the right to live either. Molly pulled up to the small dirt road. James was right, the tank was twice the width it. She opened the hatch and jumped out, making room for the other Marines.

"Did you do that?!" Molly's eyes widened when she saw a large scratch along mud covered door of her jeep. Paul smiled and gave her the finger. "You dipshit!" She sneered and pulled him out of the driver seat. She let Baker and Herringtion ride in the back and James, shot gun. "Oops no room. You can walk. Blow of more steam." She shrugged and looked over at James, "It's sorta close right?" Paul about cover about 12 miles per four hours if he kept up a constant walking speed of around 3 miles per hour. She was pissed a Paul but didn't want to leave him alone. If it was a long ways, Paul was going to have to play bitch and ride on one of the guys laps. She smiled at the thought, that's something she'd pay to see.

(( OOC: I'm not inactive. Sorry I didn't think anyone was rping on this and I'd forgotten to check. Sorry! I'll reply very soon though. Good thing I guess my chick was unconscious.))

Kira woke up in the back of a Jeep and rubbed her eyes sleepily. Where was she? What had happened? She sat up and looked in the feet in front of her where to people sat. In the driver and passenger feet was a man and a women she recognized. Her memories hadn't yet fully came back. She looked down at the dried blood covering her hands and her clothes.
"Wha-" she said shocked and looked up quickly remembering. She remembered the crazy things eating people and the guns and the killing. Her sister. Her lips trembled and she sat back against the back door of the jeep. It all felt so surreal. Was this really happening? She hoped that she was asleep back at home before her parent got sick. Before they went to the hospital. She hugged her arms and watched the woman up in the front seat driving. She didn't know where she was going or who a lot of these people were. The only thing that kept her from jumping out the back was the fact that the woman had obviously not left her for dead back at the hospital and she was too scared to be alone right now. She rested her chin on her knees and starred blankly out the window.

((sorry guys, i've been doing my Finals atm, so been crazy busy!))

James laughed as he jumped into the passenger seat of the jeep. "Don't worry, it's only a mile down the road, He'll be fine!"

He looked over at Paul, grinning wickedly "Then again, you're welcome to sit on my lap. Don't worry, i don't bite - unless you want me to." he said jokingly, laughing.

A noise from the boot of the jeep caused him to turn around suddenly. The woman who had been unconscious was awake.

He nudged Molly "She's awake," he said, turning in his seat to face her.

"Hey, how are you feeling? Like shit, right? Don't worry, you just need a bit of rest and relaxation. I'm Dr James Wishbeck. What's your name?" he said, in his calm, comforting 'doctor' voice, smiling kindly.

Molly laughed at Jame's comment to Paul. Paul looked appalled and started walking. James nudged Molly, letting her know the women was awake. "Alright, comfort her. We'll get to the house and let her lay down." She said and started the jeep, but looked over at Paul, asking him to drive the tank in the field and next to the house. Most civilians don't know how to drive one, but that doesn't mean she want's to leave it out on the road, If anything they can use the gas for the jeep.

The house was massive, a large cobble wall squared in the property and a iron gate created the entrance. Molly was amazed by the handy work of the gate. "Can you drive? I'll open the gate." She said and went to dispatch two walkers that stood at the entrance, and swung the gate outward to let them through. They were going to have to find some kind of lock.

Kira looked up suddenly when she realized the man up front was talking to her. He asked her if she was alright and before she could answer he said what she was feeling. Like shit. Her stomach was doing flips and her head was pounding.
"Kira." she answered quietly after she realized he must be a doctor. The woman drove them to some large gate and Kira looked up at it with amazement. Why were they heading to a building? Why weren't they going to the police? With those people turing crazy and eating each other she thought a police station was the safest. She felt oddly comfortable though as she looked at the large house and its gates. The crazy people would need to try their hardest to get into this place. It was a fortress.
"Can you drive? I'll open the gate." Molly said to Dr.James. Kira clenched her fists and watched Molly get out. After Molly had saved her from the soldier she felt a lot safer when she was around. Kira hoped she wasn't replacing Karen with Molly. Would it be so bad though if she did. She saw Molly heading towards two of those crazy people and she flinched when Molly took them out. Her lip trembled and she hugged her knees back to herself.

James moved over to the passenger seat and drove the car past Molly through the large Iron gates. Once inside, he had a better view of the house - it was huge, with for floors and huge windows. He had been here before on several occasions, for dinner with Mr Fisher and his wife and later for various social occasions. Since his wife's death 8 months ago, he had become somewhat of a recluse - going to work and returning from work, never having and visitors.

In James' professional opinion, he had died of a broken heart.

Hopping out of the Jeep, James walked over to Molly.

"It's strange, he always kept the place locked up. We should keep an eye out..." he said, walking over to the small shed beside the gate. He pushed the door open carefully and peered inside. Inside was some gardening tools, some old cans of paint, a couple of old sun loungers and an old, civil war sword. Crouching down, he picked the sword up off the ground and pulled it half-way out of the sheath.

Feeling the blade, it was dull, but not completely blunt. 'Could be useful' he thought to himself, swinging it over his shoulder. Standing up, he looked around and saw what he had been looking for - a thick iron chain with a ancient looking padlock on it. Grabbing it, he turned around and returned to Molly, handing her the heavy chain.

"That should do the trick. God knows why it was in the shed," he said, tightening the strap on the sword to hold it more firmly on his back.

He then walked over to the Jeep and opened the boot. He smiled at the girl within kindly and offered her his hand to help her out.

Molly thanked John for the chain as she stood next to the gate, waiting for Paul to show up before she actually locked it. The rest of the group headed in as she stood there, watching or dispatching walkers. The silence was broken by loud moans and grunts. Molly turned in time to see a man running like hell to the gate, but not before he smashed his head on the ground. She involuntary winced as she watched him make one last ditch effort to the gate as the dead racked his ankles. Launching himself over like a catapult he landed sprawled out on the grass. Molly cocked an eyebrow as he flicked off the walkers and killed them, a large smile on his face.

"Howdy." She said as she cleared her throat and put her hands on her hips, her M4 moving along her back as she did so. The guy turned around to face her. His dark curly hair stuck up in awkward angles and his face covered in a thin sheet of sweat, he looked a lot younger than her 36 years.
