ImageTwo boys were friends from a young age, meeting in elementary school and continuing their education at the same school all the way until graduation. The two were inseparable, nobody else had ever seen the two boys away from each other. One of the boys showed signs of having anxiety, but his parents refused to acknowledge it. The other boy learned how to take care of his friend and how to figure out when he was going to have a panic attack before it happened. As they got older the boy caring for the other starts developing a crush on him, but decides it's best to keep it a secret until their tenth grade year. The caretaker bought tickets for Homecoming for the two of them to go, and was waiting for a perfect moment to confess, right after the school assembly for homecoming. Unfortunately, during the assembly his friend suffers from a major panic attack that gets him sent to the hospital. After that day the boy never shows up for school again, he stays home away from the crowds of people and finishes school through homeschooling. He cuts off ties with everyone, except his friend who forces himself to still be part of his life.

ImageSlice of life branch:The boy with anxiety learns that most of his anxiety stems from crowds and learns to just avoid going out in public as much as possible. He decides on a career that allows him to continue with that path, writing. He writes books for a living and actually becomes a well known author. He starts making quite a good amount of money with this job, still he finds it better to keep himself hidden and away from as many people as possible. His friend on the other hand starts having issues trying to find a job and having no idea what to do. He refuses to take money from his author friend, so instead the famous author comes up with an idea. The author hires his friend as his caretaker, so his friend goes around town to do the author's grocery shopping, and other errands that need to be done. One day the author's younger sister decides to show up and "cure" her brother of his anxiety. His friend believes that this is just a way for the younger sister to take advantage of the author, but he's getting pushed farther and farther away from the author by the younger sister and can't find any proof that she's only there for the money.

ImageThe boy with anxiety takes up a very strange sort of job. He becomes a vampire hunter. His friend had no idea, until there was a day that he finally pressured the hunter to talk after seeing him with various injuries every time he'd visit. At first the hunter's friend thought he was crazy, but after being shown proof, the friend decides the only rational solution was to join in too. They end up taking a rather big case that gets them both into trouble they may be able to deal with. What happens if the hunter has an anxiety attack in the middle of a job? What if one of them gets bitten?

  • I will warn you all before you get too far, I do prefer romance in my roleplays, sorry, I'm more interested in them.
  • If you're interested please post in the OOC and tell me which branch you'd like to go with slice of life, or fantasy.
  • Be able to give back what I give you, I would like you to be able to post a minimum of two paragraphs. I can post anywhere from three to five. Please be reasonable.
  • The images used in the gifs does not mean your character has to look like that. You have full control on the looks, personality, and even powers of your character.
  • I am fine with blood, gore and swearing but I don’t go into detail about sex(this is more about inexperience with writing those scenes than anything else), not saying that it can't happen between our characters.
  • I don't mind OOC talk so if you are one of those people that like to talk to others outside the roleplay, I'm absolutely fine with that.
  • I don’t want any love at first sight kind of things going on. Hidden crushes right off the bat can be a thing, but no making out within the first few posts.
  • So I know you've read all these tell me your favorite color in your OOC post, I will not respond if you do not have this.
  • If you have any ideas for the role-play or you want to say “Hey, how about we do this…” Tell me about it, I want this to be fun for both of us. One of my favorite parts of a roleplay is planning things out. And the more drama the better, really.
  • If there is anything else you want to know please feel free to ask me, I don’t bite.

I'm in college with a part-time job, but I've got three day weekends, and classes that don't take up a whole lot of homework time. I should at the very least be able to post once a week, and I will tell you if I can't post for a while for whatever reason. I've been trying to look for some slice of life roleplays, but that doesn't mean that these can't lead into something with a little more action if that's what my partner wants. If you'd like to just have some simple conversations with me, or do a roleplay not listed, I'm all for that. If you do pitch a roleplay my way, remember my preferences, they are still in affect no matter what. I'm into anything fantasy, sometimes sci-fi, and if you're looking for someone to do fandom roleplays, you can always give it a try. I do play a lot of different video games, read a bunch of different comics, and watch anime/american cartoons/other tv shows. I hope there's something here that caught your attention, if not, thanks for reading through this far anyway.

A loud yawn escaped from the raven haired man's lips. His green eyes looked above the rim of his glasses at the computer screen glowing brightly in the dark room. The dark circles under his eyes indicated quite well that the man had been up all night, a normal occurrence for him when he was pressed for time on the chapters his publishers requested. The dark room, his study, was filled with papers and books thrown about after a long night of research and editing his own work. The room was small, but held a nice sized desk, and a few bookshelves filled with books. His desk held his printer and his desktop computer where he spent hours of his time.

His eyes flicked over to the time on the screen as he finished up his last sentence for the night. It read 8 o'clock AM, which made him groan as he thought of how long he had been awake. He still had more to get done with this book, but he didn't have the time to deal with it. He had to go through and edit his chapters, read through them again and do one more retype of everything he wrote before he sent it in to the publisher who would then send it to an actual editor. He'd then have to get to work on the next few chapters which, by his schedule, would end the book and give him some down time to start thinking of where he was going next.

He pushed away from the desk and stood from his chair. Stretching out his aching back from sitting hunched over his computer for a good seven hours at the very least. His first thought was bed, but he realized that wasn't an option. He had a visitor, someone he could actually manage to allow into his house. David should be over soon, it was a nearly daily occurrence, after all. He should probably show some signs of self care. Though, he didn't feel like moving very much, his body felt heavy from the lack of sleep. He'd probably just let the mess slide, most of it was in the office anyway.

Liam was able to find clothing at least halfway presentable, though it was just a pair of wrinkled jeans and a t-shirt, and moved on to making himself some coffee. On his way to the kitchen a tune played as his cellphone went off. He let out a groan as he moved back to the office and grabbed the phone from his desk. "Hello?" Liam answered not holding back his annoyance. His publisher was beginning to be a real pain in his ass.

"Hello, Mr. Baxter, how are you doing this morning?"

"Fine, Michelle," Liam muttered, "Why are you calling?"

"Oh, I wanted to talk to you about that movie offer again-"

"I told you no the first time."

"I know, but..." Liam ignored the other end as he reached up to grab the can of coffee grounds, when he found that it was empty he left the empty can on the counter. He wasn't going to make his books into movies because that would mean he'd have to actually be there to make sure things went the way he wanted. He wasn't going to let a movie studio butcher his book series. Besides that, he just didn't want to hear this lecture while he was staring at an empty can of coffee grounds. That meant he had no caffeine in the house, and he'd have to try and stay awake on his own.

"Look, now's really not the best time to discuss this. Can I call you back?"

"Uh...Yeah, sure, call me back before one, okay?"

"Will do," Liam muttered as he tried to search for something to eat, only to find that his fridge was also very devoid of food. He made enough money to make sure he never ran out of food, yet there he was with no food. Probably, because he didn't do the shopping himself and relied on someone else to do it for him. Plus, there was the fact that he just had no concept of when he'd run out and when would be a good time to have David go out and get more. Plus there was the whole thing about making sure that there was a list of what he wanted, and he didn't like having to make one up.

He went back to his phone and texted his friend a quick message 'Need food and coffee. Do your job.' He was being playful with his message, and figured that his friend knew that he was out of food. He just made his way to his living room and laid down on his couch with the television turned on. His eyelids grew heavy, but he tried hard to keep them open and stay away for when his friend finally got to his home. He should have probably gotten started on a list of things he needed from the grocery store, but he was way too tired to even get up from the couch now. He'd just have to come up with something when his friend finally got there.

His day had started out horrible. He stared out the window of the bus in a mindless thought, then glanced back down at the slip of paper in his hand. It was a note left in his locker at the animal shelter that read:

"Dear shelter employee, Due to a lack of funding for our facilities by the city, we are no longer able to stay open. All animals in our possession at the end of the week will be transferred to other shelters in neighboring communities. Your last day of employment with us will be Friday of this week. We thank you for your service and wish you well."

Marques kept reading and rereading the note. It had just been a few weeks prior that he had been let go from his job as a waiter. He was already scrambling to find a way to pick up a job to cover that lose. Now...well, now he was sunk. Rent was due in two weeks and he would have no way to pay it, not to mention food and other monthly expenses.

He leaned his head on the window not sure what he felt at the moment....depressed, heartbroken, angry, frustrated..he was just not sure. Perhaps all of this to some extent. He crumpled the paper in his hand and showed it unceremoniously into the pocket of his jacket. What he needed at this point was to just sit down and talk with someone. Someone who could offer an ear he could bend and perhaps even a possible solution to his problem.

The bus pulled to a stop and people started milling towards doors to exit. Looking out the window, he saw this was his stop too. He had promised to pay Liam a visit today. He had just not expected it would be under these circumstances. Marques never liked being down when he went to see Liam or anyone else, for that matter. When he was gloomy, it just seemed he had a dark cloud over everything he said or thought and, in turn, that usually caused others problems for him as his negative attitude spilled out from all he said. He didn't wish to be negative with Liam. Not today, not ever.

It had only been a few steps off the bus when the rain started. Marques sighs heavily as he pulls his hood over his head. "Is it possible for this day to get any worse?" he asks no one in particular. The apartment building is two more blocks away and the rain starts to fall at a quicker rate, soon soaking through his hood and jacket. Marques half walks, half jogs to the door of the building. When he gets there he enters the glass doors of the entrance and takes a moment to catch his breath. Turning around he looks outside with a look as if scolding the rain for making his day just that much more miserable.

Marques takes off the drenched jacket and shakes it free of the water droplets still clinging to it. The bell to the elevator signals that someone is about to exit, so he stops shaking the jacket, not wishing to get others wet. He will allow the rain itself to do that. He patiently waits to enter the elevator as two women exit. They are talking and laughing as they walk past Marques, perhaps not even noticing that he had been standing there waiting for them to pass. As they go by he enters the elevator and presses the "10". The doors close and the ride up begins.

The doors creak open and Marques makes his way off, taking a right turn down the hallway to Liam's apartment. He stops in front of the door and lets out a heavy breath. Closing his eyes he tells himself he needs to snap out of this mood before he goes in. He is here to visit his friend, not to consult with a counselor over his troubles in life. Liam had enough stress in his life to deal with, he didn't need to listen to the sob story of another.

Opening his eyes and letting out another breath, Marques steps to the door and rings the doorbell. He hopes he is not interrupting Liam as he knows sometimes writers can get into a "groove" with their work and interruptions, even small ones, can make that moment of productivity pass. He waits patiently, trying to put a smile on his face.

Liam tried to keep his focus on the television, but it became pretty hard to do as time passed. He'd been up for more than twenty four hours at this point, and while he's frequently done that in the past, it still left him just as tired as the last time. He needed to actually stay on a regular sleep schedule, like he wanted to. But, he always ruined it by writing for hours at a time and losing track of what time it was while he was writing. He couldn't help it, it was his job to get the books out, plus when he was on a roll, he didn't exactly want to stop. It wasn't like he could just sit down and write all the time, sometimes he had his blocks and would be stuck for days on end. So, when he was actually able to write up a few chapters in one night, he'd do it. Then there was the matter of his deadline, and having to be motivated to write. It was complicated and left him with a sleep schedule that was just all over the place.

He reached out a hand and grabbed his phone from the coffee table, it had only been ten minutes. He was too tired to actually do anything about having nothing in the house. Plus, Marques was coming over. He had no idea what time, so he just had to wait for his friend to show. He would just have to deal with being tired and hungry for a little while. He'd figure out later what to do about the coffee and food shortage. Probably after sleeping, when it was too late to actually go to the local grocery store and get food to restock his house. He really needed to find a better way than waiting last minute to get everything he needed. Though, last minute was when the store wasn't so crowded and he could breath a lot easier. His anxiety wasn't so bad then.

He sat up on the couch hoping that would help keep him awake while he waited. Still, his eyes managed to close on him and get too heavy for him to hold up. His breath soon slowed and mind wandered off. He still sat up and the television was still on making noise. He really shouldn't have fallen asleep at all, but he was just so tired and his mind needed a break.

His eyes snapped open when he heard the bell. He let out a small gasp as if surprised that he had fallen asleep at all. He quickly grabbed the glasses from the coffee table and placed them on his face and shoved his cellphone in his pocket. He walked over to the door and opened it, even though he was in the middle of a yawn. "Hey Marques, what's up?" Liam asked as he moved so Marques could step into the house.

Marques looked up as the door to the apartment was open and Liam greeted him. Taking a step inside, he gives Liam a one-armed hug and pat on the back. "How are you, Liam?" Marques followed Liam into the living area where a television was droning away. He sat down in a chair, letting out a sigh as he did. Quickly he catches this in his mind and reprimanded himself. He took a moment to remind himself that he did not wish to let on to Liam that this had not been a stellar day for him.

Looking up at the television, Marques sees one of the shop from home programs on. It seems they were currently trying to convince their viewers that a summer frock with pastel flowers on was the next greatest thing for ladies. Marques looked over to Liam who was sitting on a couch positioned in front of the television. He looked awful; zombie like to be exact. He had dark circles around his eyes, droopy eyelids, more or less looked as if he had been knocked to the ground and run over by a steamroller.

Marques sighs and says, "You pulled another all-nighter, didn't you my friend? I understand it is kind of the nature of your job at times, but you need your rest or it will effect your health." Standing up and walking over to Liam, Marques offers him a hand and pulls him from the couch. "Let me get you to bed. You need your sleep." Marques walks Liam to the door of his bedroom and pushes the door open. "In you go, young man. And...." Marques holds out his hand, "your phone. You don't need to be disturbed. You need to get some sleep."

After receiving the phone, Marques watches Liam go into the room and start to undress. He quietly closes the door and goes back to the living room. Plopping down on the couch, he locates the remote and flips through the channels. Finding nothing that he deemed worth his time or trouble to watch, he looks around the room. It was a mess. As a matter of fact, the whole apartment was a mess. Marques checks in on Liam and sees he is now fast asleep. He then pokes around to find some cleaning supplies and goes about dusting and cleaning the apartment.

An hour later, he looks around and gives himself a sigh of approval. "Well, this looks better." he says to himself. Walking over to the room Liam did his work in, Marques peeks through the door. The place is a mess, but Marques decides he better not touch anything inside as Liam likely has some sort of method to his madness. He puts away the cleaning materials and decides he could use a drink.

Being bold enough to help himself to a soda, he opens the refrigerator only to find it empty. Going through the pantry, he sees the same same. "What is it that this man eats?" he wonders aloud. Putting his jacket back on and taking a key to the apartment from a hook near the door, he decides to pay a visit to a little market he knew was just three blocks away. He would get some food and drink for Liam before the poor guy wasted away to nothing.

As he is coming back to the apartment with two bags full of food and drink, he wonders how Liam survives. He is not getting proper sleep and he obviously is not eating properly either. He worries for his friend and his health. Liam's work and his anxiety are going to be his undoing, is all Marques can think. He decides he would make an effort to visit Liam on a more regular occasion to keep a watch on this. And now that he was unemployed, this should not be a problem.

After putting away the groceries, he takes one last peek at his sleeping friend. He quietly closes the bedroom door and then puts his jacket back on. As he does, the crumpled note telling him he lost his job, falls unnoticed to the floor. Walking out the door and closing it behind him, Maruqes heads off to the bus stop.

All Liam did was protest. He knew that he needed sleep, but he didn't want to go to bed. His friend continued to insist though and basically forced him to go to sleep. He would have been fine, one all-nighter wasn't terribly bad for him, and he was going to hold off of sleep to try and not end up staying up all night again. Marques, apparently didn't care about this and made him go to bed anyway and even took his phone away. He just wanted to stay up for a bit, talk to his friend then do a small amount of work before he actually slept. Still, due to him already being tired, he didn't protest that much and if he really wanted to he probably could have convinced his friend that that isn't what he needed to do at the moment.

As soon as his head hit the pillow, Liam was out. he was already snoozing away. He passed out on his bed and stayed that way for hours. He slept a long time before finally getting up again, only because of a distant phone call he could hear he was getting. He quickly got out of bed and searched for his phone. For a long moment he was on the verge of an anxiety attack, not really remembering that he had handed his phone to Marques.

Finally, that thought dawned on him and he sprinted out of his bedroom and found his phone laying on the coffee table in his living room. He picked it up and answered just in time to hear the angered voice of his publisher. "Liam, I can't believe you. I told you to call me back before one." Another panic attack started up. Liam glanced at the time, it was now two in the afternoon. Great, now his publisher was mad at him and his heart was beating so fast and hard that he could barely think. Tears started to spring from his eyes and his mind was focusing on the fact that she was mad rather than the conversation. He had to set his phone down while she was yelling and walk away.

It took him a few minutes to get everything under control, then he picked up the phone again and pressed it to his ear. She was still talking, but much less mad this time. She was more like a disappointed parent now, lecturing him on how he should be more responsible and that all she wants is to see his books grow and come to life. This was much less panic inducing and he was just happy that he had been lucky enough that she hadn't paused at all waiting for him to respond.

"I'm sorry I missed out, I had pulled an all nighter working on my next book before the deadline caught up to me," Liam explained. "Besides that, I'm really not interested in selling the rights of my book to some movie producers. I'd rather just keep it to myself for now."

"You're missing out on a huge opportunity, Liam," His publisher warned.

"I know, it's fine," Liam sighed, as he glanced around his clean house that he was pretty sure wasn't so clean when he had fallen asleep. Though, there was a piece of paper on the floor that he had just noticed. He grabbed the paper and read the notification. It was about Marques' animal shelter job being done. He threw the paper away and sighed. His friend now had no job. "I'm okay with that. I need to go now. I'll talk to you again later, bye."

Liam hung up the phone only to call Marques. As soon as his friend answered the phone, Liam sighed, "How short are you on rent this month?"

The sun was finally trying to break through the gloom of the day and the sidewalks were drying up. Marques decided he would walk from this point back to his apartment as he knew there were a couple diners, restaurants, and even a bookstore in this two mile stretch from Liam's apartment. In all, he made seven stops, but he ended up at his apartment with not even an application to show for it. It seemed everyone was not hiring, or even cutting workers as the summer was winding down and the traffic to their establishments would be slowing down.

Marques tossed his jacket on a hook on the wall by his door and made his way to his refrigerator. He took out the last soda he had and opened it up. Making his way to the living room, he plopped into his favorite chair, an ugly blue recliner. It was worn out and dirt looking, but it was comfortable. Marques even spent many a night sleeping in it when he was too restless to sleep in his bed. He just sat there staring out the window that overlooked the skyline of the city before him. He slowly sipped at the soda wondering how he was going to get out of this mess.

Rent was due in two weeks, he was running out of food, and he only had $35 left in his wallet after he paid to restock Liam's refrigerator with food earlier in the day. One by one his mind worked through his options and one by one they were tossed away. He had come to his last possible choice, well, the last choice other than being homeless. He would reach out to his parents to see if he could stay with them until he could get his feet under him again.

Marques loved his parents and knew they would be happy to help him out, but the fact was he was twenty-five and had nothing in his life to show for it. He had no direction, no skills that could help him find work, and no real goal or purpose in his life at this point. He reluctantly pulls the phone from his pocket and starts to put in his parent's number when the phone rings. Liam's name lights up in the phone's display. Marques smiles, happy to see his friend has awaken.

"Hey, Liam. Welcome back to the world of the living," he says as he answers. The voice on the other end comes back with, "How short are you on rent this month?" Marques is taken off guard by this greeting and sits silent for a moment. "Ahh, what kind of question is that to ask a guy?" Marques is a bit perplexed as to why Liam would call and ask such a thing. Perhaps a "Thanks for cleaning up," or "Thanks for the food," but where was this coming from.

Then an empty spot hits his gut. Marques springs from his chair and moves to his jacket. He reaches into his pocket..nothing, the other pocket...nothing. It is gone. The termination note is not there. It must have fallen out at Liam's apartment. "Damn...you know." is all Marques can come back with at this point.

Re: Inseperable

No idea on state or region, you have any suggestions?

Story wise, we're starting with your character being employed for a while. I'm thinking that with starting this off, we'll start with a sort of average day for the two characters to establish a norm. Then introduce Liam's sister into the mix to mess with that norm.

Re: Inseperable

Cool beans. As an American, america works for me too lolol. Any ideas for the state? Or region?

I'll have a character up soon.

So story wise...are we starting with before my character gets employed? Or right when he starts? Or has he been working there for a while? Or something else completely? lol.

Re: Inseperable

Take your time! I understand that things can get crazy, especially with something like freelancing.

I actually would like to keep the culture American, since it's easiest for me, so let's set the country as America. Also, modern time, if you needed to know the year too.

Re: Inseperable

Okeydokey. As I said before, I'm a bit busy, but I'll be thinking about my character. I have an idea, but gotta flesh him out more :)

Fake city sounds good. But I was wondering what country? The imagery is Japanese, which I'm cool with, but if you want to do American or European or other Asian, I'm fine with that too. Just a matter of knowing the culture :)

Yes, I'll be playing the writer character. You get to choose the personality for your own character, I try to keep your character up to you as possible, but if you want to know the personality of my character, I'm in the process of getting my character up, so you can read that in a moment.

As for where this is taking place, I'm going to say in the suburbs, maybe near a city like a half-hour drive at the most to the downtown area. I prefer to use a fake city and such, just to make things easier.

Re: Inseperable

Yessum! I assume you're going to be playing the writer character? Do you have any personalities set for them or they still in development? And where will this be taking place?

Re: Inseperable

I am definitely still down to partner up! You want to do the slice of life branch right?

Re: Inseperable

Okayyy let's try this again lolol

My fav color is teal. And I'd still be down to partner up if you are :)
