Andy O'NealDialogue #18D81E * Cell #14 * Location Cafeteria
As the nurse came out Andy saw her going past most of the kids in the hall. Not him, he was not on any medication, neither forced nor by choice. It did scare him a bit at times,
I mean...they must get these pills for a reason, right? He knew not all of them actually took the pills, he heard them dealing in them at times. He had never shown any interest. He had no idea what the pills were for, so best not to try it. Although..., there was a bit of a temptation. Everything else here was just so damn boring, having drugs could break the boredom, at least for a bit. Andy hadn't been tempted yet, but the endless routine was really getting to him. He looked at each of the pill people and was trying to judge if they took the pills or not. They were good enough to hie it from the guards, but the encouraging smile on some of their faces gave it away. He was distracted by the new arrival. Like Andy this guy looked to be from a middle class upbringing. The shoulders straight, a fair bit of redness in the cheeks and an almost military style haircut. Also like Andy he looked innocent enough.
No major crime there...Very much a contradiction to the guy whose table Max joined. Liem was short, not only in height, but in temper too. Andy didn't know the whole story, and didn't know if he'd believe the whole story, but he did know he and Liem wouldn't be the closest of friends.
Andy liked to divide his 'housemates' into categories. The game was shocked, shattered or stupid. The shocked were the mostly innocent kids that made a mistake. They were in the system now, but would be changed when outside of this place. Perfect members of society. The second group was the shattered, the broken ones. In other words the crazy people in here. The ones that go ape-shit without their meds and can do the weirdest stuff with the biggest smile. The ones that make you believe in ghost stories. Until he knew the entire story he couldn't confirm, but he did think there were a few 'shattered' in this place. The fact that Kimi looked like a hot Grudge-girl, ready to jump out of your tv-set at any moment, didn't help.
Lastly there are the stupid. Either too stupid for normal work, too stupid to trust certain people or too stupid to get caught. This was definitely the category Andy belonged to. It was also the category that did not learn much from this whole juvi exercise. It was also the category Andy thought Liem belonged to.
As if Liem could read Andy's mind he spoke:
"Oh shut your ass Andy, they won't let you look at a computer after what you did to be landed in here."Andy acknowledged his comment with the fakest of smiles. Soon after arriving the story about Andy had spread. For most the word hacker was enough to label him forever, 1 or 2 had actually asked what exactly he had hacked. He had told them about a few jobs, although not the big ones. Of course even without knowing the details, Liem's comment was correct. Andy near a computer or phone was asking for trouble, and the detention center was all to aware of this.
Andy got a bit of a shock when the girl next to him asked him:
"So, what did you do to be landed in here?"He thought this was the first time he ever heard her speak. And he would hate to turn a possible nice person away by not responding. He turned in his chair to face her, smiled and responded.
"I helped some people with their computers. I'm kind of an expert in that. And those people I helped made quite a bit of money when I helped them, so they paid me for it." He said all of this in a hushed tone. The guards knew what he was in for, he wouldn't give them any more than that.
"And you? How did you earn this stay at such a wonderful location?"
