Two werewolf packs who have had bad blood between them for years are forced to join together and create one pack. While both packs are slowly learning to warm up to one another, the humans in the area are learning their fragile secret.

They didn't start this way. As every great species beings, it took a powerful magic to create such creatures. The average animal, their genes and genetics twisted and morphed into something new, something dangerous. Yet, the humans in the area are utterly oblivious to such activity.

Who sparked the flame that burned away humanity's safe and uniform way of life? The creatures effected did not know, though of course they were curious. Unfortunately, they could not research their origin; it was forbidden. Why? No one knew, only perhaps the officials. Still, not many of them truly believed even their respected leaders even understood what had happened. Who had even established the hierarchy system, anyhow? Another question unanswered, yet no one went out of their way to find out; they couldn't. So many things these new creatures were not able to do, because their main job was not taken care of.

And it never would be.

Hundreds of years ago, four strangers were drawn mysteriously to the dark forests surrounding the town. A full moon shown overhead, shining a path through the trees that each human unknowingly followed. The humans formed pairs; a male and a female per pair. Deeper in the woods, nearing the mountains, four wolves had done the same thing. Confused, both the humans and wolves began to wander off when a bright and sudden light erupted from the trees. Temporarily blinding the four beings, each one fell unconsciously to the cold snow. The spirits of each human left their bodies, as did the spirits of the wolves. The spirits sped off, traveling faster and faster towards one another. With a sickening boom and a small earthquake, each wolf spirit combined with a wolf spirit, creating a human/wolf hybrid.

None of the humans fully understood what had happened to them when they awoke. The idea of forming a pack within each pair was already implanted in their minds. The names of the packs were the first word spoken by each male when he awoke fully. The east pack was named Foalan, the west pack was named Bleddyn. The pairs felt a surge of leadership, taking on the rankings of the wolf spirit within them, Alpha Male and Female. Because each human became an Alpha, a strong hatred developed between the two packs.

After the forming of the new hybrids -who formally decided to call themselves werewolves- a burning sensations was felt on the skin of each. On the male, the burning was on the shoulder of the favored arm. On the female, the ankle of the favored leg. Where the burning was worse, an insignia was carved into the skin of the werewolves, symbolizing the crest of each new pack.

For days after the transformation, none of the werewolves could focus on their now mundane jobs. The urge to served and protect humanity was too powerful. Each person agreed that the main reason of their transformation must've been to create a guardian for the humans of the town. Why? No one knew. Without knowing who created them in the first place, it was rather hard to ask why they had to protect humans. Because of the natural feud between the two packs, Foalan was to guard east of the mountain, and Bleddyn west. Nonetheless, the werewolves hid their true identities, continuing life as normally as possible all the while guarding the humans.

It is present day, and the two packs originally created have since then developed. The ancestors of the original Alphas now control both Foalan and Bleddyn, and are continuing to protect the humans of the town. To this day, none of the werewolves understand why they were created, or for what reason.

Throughout the years, the natural distaste between Foalan and Bleddyn still remains. The two packs take daily and nightly patrols around the town, avoiding each other when they are forced to scout similar areas. The Alphas of each pack live on separate sides of the town, and try not to be near one another when they can avoid it. Since the town is unfortunately so small, both packs are required to go to the same school. The teen children of each pack form their own 'smaller pack' while in school, having their own ranks as well. The humans have noticed that the two groups do not like each other, but do not understand why.

The children of each Alpha family are soon ready to take on the roles their parents are leaving behind. The only problem, their is only one Alpha child for each pack. Of course, this problem can be avoided by having the Alpha child pair with the child of the Second in Command. But to add the seemingly easily fixed issue, the human population has grown since the first werewolves, and one large pack seems like the best idea. For Foalan, they have a daughter. For Bleddyn, they have a son. After speaking, each pack felt it was best to combine the two packs, and try to dissolve the bad blood between them.

The two teen packs must learn to get along before the ceremony combining the two packs takes place. All of the teens have learned that the other pack is bad news, and it is difficult for the decades long feelings to go away. Both Alpha children are learning to warm up to each other, as well, seeing as if they will one day be paired. Several quarrels occur between the teen packs, and nonetheless, it seems as if some of the humans are catching on to the werewolves existence. So while the packs are learning to cooperate, them must try to hide their most fragile secret.

Werewolves are humans with the abilities to change forms. On the full moon of every month, each human is abruptly changed into their wolf form. On other days, werewolves can change at will. This is a practiced skill, and for young wolves the changing can be painful. The more times changed, the less pain is inflicted. Once changed, the werewolves are menacing. They stand much taller than the average wolf, the Alpha being the tallest at 7-8 feet. Their fur ranges in color, thought their eye color is the same for both forms.

When in human form, the werewolves have heightened abilities. Speed and strength are much greater than the average human. Smell, taste, sight, and other senses are also better. These enhancements carry over to the wolf form as well. Naturally, humans are frightened of the werewolves without knowing why. The werewolves are usually attractive, though that does not affect the humans. Something about the werewolves make the humans not want to make unnecessary eye-contact.

The words escaped her lips before she had mustered the courage to say them herself.

The humans in the room continued on with their mundane lives. The lunch line crept slowly to the registers. Teachers sat lazily in their small lounge drinking black coffee. Some students were blatantly kissing in the corners of the spacious room. Time did not stop, nor did the seemingly never-ending chatter. In fact, the only ones frozen were the werewolves.

"The Foalan pack will be joining the Bleddyn pack. The date is scheduled for two weeks from tomorrow."

The words sounded worse spoken allowed. Eden had replayed them in her mind again and again after her parents had originally said them to her nights before. A weight had been on her shoulders for the hours since she was informed, and she had worried about her pack's reaction. All of its' members were different, each one having their own quirks and personalities. Still, their faces all had the same mask of surprise plastered on. Wide-eyed, open-mouthed, frozen in place. Apples half bitten, milk cartons lifted halfway to mouths. If not for the obvious tension in the air, Eden may have laughed.

None of the humans noticed the delay; most of them weren't brave enough to even glance in the werewolves' direction. Naturally the humans were frightened of the hybrids without knowing why. Eden didn't understand why either; perhaps something psychological? Maybe just the aurora the wolves have? Still, she was grateful no one looked their way. If one pack member were to get too angry about the news, she Eden wouldn’t know how to explain to a school full of humans about one of their classmates erupting into a large dog.

Dylan looked over at Mr.Kapoldi with great relief. "Sir..I know my work in your class is not as exceptional but give me a break." Dylan wanted to hurt the teacher with all the might he could, but something was holding him back. He felt as though Mr.Kapoldi wasn't worth the air or time Dylan required, so he left with a graded paper '-D' if accurate.

He walked towards the cafeteria and looked around with anguish. This was quite odd to him. As Eden Foalan was speaking to her seemingly 'clique' most of them looked surprised to something. Dylan had known Eden for quite some time and found her to be a bit odd, as though there was something worth knowing. He walked in line and picked up a plate, filled with an apple, strawberry yogurt, a ham and cheese sandwhich with one carton of chocolate milk. Perfect.

He sat down at a table with five of his annoying jock buddies from the school's football team. Dylan himself, was the school Quarterback. Jeff was the wide receiver. Joe was the linebacker, with his twin brother Isaac being the tight end. And Troy being the halfback.

As they ate at the table Dylan spoke cunningly. "I swear..don't you ever find something a little you know..strange with Eden and her..followers ?" They all stopped eating and laughed. Joe nodded to Dylan and responded. "Look Dylan..we really don't care ok ? we are focusing on the big game that's coming up which is all of our needs."

Dylan smiled. "Watch your tongue Balljunge und erkennen, wer die Bälle werfen."

He left the table and threw the half bitten apple at Isaac. He looked around at the tables and decided to sit at one alone not to far away from Eden's. He looked around and tried to listen in a bit. Dylan hated being a snoop but something was strange, like everyone ignored it but him. He looked at their table and ate his apple smiling in delight of his ears.

The words rung through Calan's ears, and at first he didn't know how to react. Not even a chime of a sarcastic joke left his lips. Then again, he was mid bit of food when Eden had revealed the news. There really wasn't anything that could lighten an announcement like that. After a moment of staring at Eden in complete and utter silence, Calan started to eat his lunch again. He sent a sideways glance around the table at the rest of the pack before swallowing a bite of pizza he'd been chewing. "Well, we can think of it as making friends… you know, since we're not very good at that with humans." Calan muttered with a grunted chuckle before glancing down at the bruised apple on his lunch tray. He cringed as he picked it up and inspected it more closely before making a sound of disgust and tossing it over his shoulder, onto the floor of the cafeteria.

"So, why do we have to join them?" Calan asked after taking a long sip of his milk. He wanted to know more, especially since this wasn't something that was up for argument. The way Eden had explained it had him thinking that it wasn't up for argument or ideas at all, but rather that it was her say, and the way that things were just going to happen. Since he couldn't change what was coming, he could at least find out more about it. He leaned back in his chair, kicking his feet up onto a bar underneath the table and throwing his arms across the back of his head. "I really wanted to eat that apple." He grumbled with a small frown as he looked down at his empty lunch tray. His stomach growled a little. These lunches were never enough for him, it was like he was eating a snack. He always found himself at home eating nearly four times as much as what he had just had. After a moment of a distracted thought of what he was going to eat when he got home, Calan looked back up at Eden with curiosity.

Disgusting. In all honesty, that was the only word that sprung to Shiloh's mind, at the current moment, that could even remotely describe the animosity she felt towards high school. More specifically; the cafeteria in which she was always promptly ushered into by the shrill alarm of the bells. Ah yes, the lunch period.. perhaps the only time, aside from the final seconds of the last period, that most of the teenagers managed to snap out of their shells, out of their zombie-esque trance, to interact with students of similar caliber in whatever manner they deemed fit at the moment. And, judging by a few of the tossed insults (some holding a playful joviality...others on the opposite end of the spectrum), the physical contact that was spurred by their fluxing hormones and overwhelming drives of testosterone, some of these lifeless students acted quite in the reverse of their classroom presence.

Of course, Shiloh normally wouldn't have been so fixated on observing the humans..but then again, since the first light of dawn had woken her this morning, there had been a creeping sensation in the recesses of her conscious that today would be the polar opposite of normal. So, naturally, everything she did today was going to be out of the ordinary. God..they are so.. unusual mused her metacognitive inner voice, just the slightest twinge of curious repulsion lacing the words. After all, despite having been educated, Ches had never been to an actual high school, home-schooling always being the option decided best for her. Anyone who had spent the last sixteen years of their life in reclusive hiding would have been reacting in a similar fashion to Shiloh..it was just natural, expected. So, with those ethereally hued orbs continually sweeping the room for any appalling signs of teenage socializing, a slender hand darted forward to pause at the edge of the plastic tray, the color of a washed out navy blue, that was sporting some blatant marks of over usage. Never once retreating her surveying gaze, that hand sprung back into motion after a second of pause to lightly grasp a cupcake tucked into it's compartment, the poor pastry never once having a moment to have an epiphany of it's gruesome fate. That is.. if inanimate objects could reach such mental capacity. Fluidly raising the sugary mess off the tray, Ches flickered her gaze downwards to it, any interest in gazing at her peers lost. Hm... yellow today, huh? murmured her thoughts, distaste weaving it's bitterness into the syllables. Lazily, the opposite hand's pointer finger made a quick swipe across the top of the cake, a large clump of artificially dyed buttercream sticking to the digit. Raising it to her lips, Ches's slender tongue darted forward, those tastebuds that registered the sensation of sweetness nearly bursting with joy. That was when she noticed Eden, almost seemingly, appearing from nowhere.

One look at her Alpha, that was all it took for the pack member to recognize something was horridly wrong. Shifting on the plastic beneath her, a frown tugging the corners of her mouth downwards, Shiloh peered at Eden with an imploring anxiety. "The Foalan pack will be joining the Bleddyn pack. The date is scheduled for two weeks from tomorrow." rang out her hesitating tone, a certain underlying emotion present that evaded Shiloh. Dropping her now-clean finger from her mouth, the guard only managed a blink or two of blankness, eyes void of any major reaction. This is quite..odd.. Why? echoed out her conscious, colorful inquiry adding life to the unspoken words. Flickering a glance over at the Beta, who was currently stuffing his face with an assortment of food, Shiloh couldn't help but quirk an eyebrow at his grunt of a chuckle, his words trying to make light of the situation. "Well, we can think of it as making friends… you know, since we're not very good at that with humans. So, why do we have to join them?" Thankfully, Calan voiced the question that was nagging, a saving grace. Biting her lower lip, eyes still guarded from emotion, Shiloh was still attempting to figure out her position behind this piece of news, her mind quickly becoming a busybody of swirling thoughts. Finally omitting a soft growl, she leaned furtherinto the backing of her seat before tightly crossing her arms over her chest, eyes just ever-so-slight narrowing. "Well.. this is going to be fun. Keeping you safe from the enemy when they are literally next door.. How are we suppose to know that we can trust them? I mean, I've been here for a few months but that's enough to realize that there is some pretty deep shit between you guys."

"Guys, are we seriously having this conversation?" Shailene inquired, folding her arms over her chest. It was still not apparent whether or not this was some weird girl ritual or if her friends were seriously as self-absorbed as they seemed, but Shailene was stuck in the bathroom as the four other girls checked themselves out, reapplied another coat of mascara or lipstick, and continued to gossip. Shailene was the only one casually leaning up against the wall, handbag hanging off her shoulder and a firmly-set scowl on her face. Her outfit was fine and they were going to lunch anyway; her lip gloss would eventually come off. The brunette, a new chick Shailene definitely summed up to be the biggest bitch, rolled her eyes in the mirror.

"Obviously, someone needs to have this talk with you," the girl replied snarkily and Shailene's frown deepened. "You have one of the HOTTEST guys on your arm and -

"And you don't, so you're mad and wasting your time telling me what you would be doing with him." And Shailene did not even try to pretend like she felt even an ounce of remorse for sounding so cocky or bitchy. But it was the truth. The girl had been incredibly snarky towards Shailene since she began dating Dylan. And while Shailene was definitely the nicest of the girls, she wasn't exactly one to walk over either. Cora gave her a look in the mirror and Shailene rolled her eyes, tightening her arms around herself. Anything Cora had about the conversation could wait; Shailene had just ended the conversation. Cora must have understood that because she began an entirely new conversation on a topic that would surely keep all attention off of Shailene.

"Anyway, there's a party this weekend. Everyone's invited?" Thus, squeals of excitement over which guys were going to be there and what outfits were going to be worn were what led Shailene and her group out of the bathroom and into the cafeteria. As customary, a few heads turned and Shailene opted to simply smile, not exactly that comfortable with unnecessary attention. While the others were happy to sashay towards the lunch line with fake smiles and tossed hair, Shailene simply dragged herself behind them, eyes falling on the two tables that everyone else seemed to ignore.

There seemed to be a tension in Eden's group, the kind that one could feel a mile away and feel suffocated by even when it obviously did not include you. Shailene found herself distracted as she got her food, occasionally glancing at them as the group talked. Apparently, Eden must not have said something the others liked because mostly everyone had this look of either distaste or something akin to being uncomfortable. Out of the corner of her eye, She grabbed her tray and paid quickly, just hearing the girls actually talk about finding a table outside.

"Hey, guys...I'm gonna go sit with Dylan for lunch," Shailene said, smiling at her favorite cafeteria lady who returned her thermos filled with hot water so Shailene could make some chai tea. The girls, except for the brunette demon, grinned, especially Cora, who's eyes glinted with something lascivious.

"Don't do anything I wouldn't," she called after Shailene and the blonde's cheeks flushed red as she hoped no one heard that. Her head whipped in her friend's direction and she gave an almost convincing, threatening look.

"We're in the caf!" Cora shrugged and still blushing, Shailene hurried over to where Dylan sat, plopping herself beside him and following his line of vision. "Hey, do you know what's going on over there?"

''The Foalan pack will be joining the Bleddyn pack. The date is scheduled for two weeks from tomorrow."
Just that sentence brought Xander out of her thoughts. Xander had been looking out of the window that she was sitting next to, just day dreaming about being outside, where she belonged instead of this hell hole called high school. Xander hated being stuck inside for hours, having to listen to adults talking about math and what not. Xander just wanted the final bell to ring so she could be outside, with the fresh air and be free. Xander looked back at Eden and thought about what she said about the two packs being forced to join to form one pack.

Xander looked around and hoped no one over heard what they were talking about, other wise they would have to explain, a lot. She looked at Eden again and said, '' Well, you're our leader. What you say goes, I won't ague with that.'' Xander looked back around to see what the others would say, since she wasn't one to talk much, like at all.
''Well, we can think of it as making friends… you know, since we're not very good at that with humans." Xander looked at Calan and smirked, he would be the to say that. Xander looked back at him when she saw him look down at the apple he had and frowned and then threw it over his shoulder. Xander ever so slightly gave him a smile and then she quickly stopped smiling when he said,'' So, why do we have to join them?'' Xander also was wondering why as well.

Xander stood up and grabbed her tray of half eaten food. She then looked at Calan before she left when she heard him say, '' I really wanted to eat that apple'' He said with such a child like tone. Xander couldn't help but smile, she looked down at her tray again and saw that she had gotten an apple, but didn't eat it yet. She walked behind Calan and dropped it in front of him, and it landed on his tray. It was a bright, pump red apple and Xander wasn't hungyy anymore, and she hated wasting food. She playfully ruffled the pack of Cadan's hair and walked away to throw away her left over trash.

Xander walked back over to her pack at their table, but before she sat down she heard someone say, '' I swear..don't you ever find something a little you know..strange with Eden and her..followers?'' Xander stopped and waited to see if they would talk more about them, but they didn't so she just sat back down next to Eden.
Xander looked at Eden and said, '' They're talking about us again. I heard Dylan and his jocks talking. Do you think this could be bad?'' Xander looked back at Eden, then back at the others and waited for the others to talk again.
