"Abraham Lincoln once said that at the end of the day, it's not the years in your life, but the life in your years. So, why live every day afraid of the unknown?"

|Description|
Shailene is a very gorgeous young woman with an lissome, slim frame that holds soft and natural curves and long legs. Since being in remission, she has worked hard to give herself some weight and healthy muscle mass, but she still looks almost fragile to some. Her skin is soft, smooth and fair - a milk-and-rose complexion that fits the innocence of her character. Her face is that of a cherubic structure; she has high cheeks, but there is residual baby fat that accentuates the child-like expressions on her face. Her eyes are bright and the palest shade of blue accented by tiny flecks of what some believe to be a silver-grey shade. They are surrounded by long and dark lashes that contrast sharply against them and her skin.
Although rare to see in public, Shailene wears glasses when she is not wearing her contacts. Her lips are rosebud-shaped and naturally pink, soft to the touch. Her hair is long and satiny-smooth, falling down her back in natural waves though she tends to straighten them from time to time.
✔ Tumbling -- Shailene is a former cheerleader and she has taken to cheering at games now just because everyone is concerned for her health|✔ Communication -- Shailene is the vice-president of the student government and is known for organizing events for the school since getting her strength back|✔ Animals -- Shailene is currently volunteering with the animal clinic and is very good at dealing with animals

|Weaknesses|
✖Wears her heart on her sleeve -- Shailene is that girl with a big heart who wants to believe that there is good in every single being. And no matter how many times she is heart-broken, she seems to stick with this ideology. So, when she becomes your friend or even more, she loves wholly and completely with no questions asked. And if betrayed, she is utterly devastated, but continues the cycle anyway hoping for something different.
✖Stubborn -- Once she has her mind set on something, it is hard to deter Shailene. She would call this determination; others would say that she is being incredibly stubborn. Even if it is for her own good, Shailene does not back down for anything. So, trying to intimidate her is a hard task unless you do it for a living.
✖Animals -- Shailene has a huge love for animals and would stop to care for an injured animal at the drop of a dime.

|Personality|
{Bubbly, Insightful, Sassy, Nerdy, Naive, Caring, Stubborn}
Shailene is usually a bright, adorable and energetic teenager. Most people are on the receiving end of infectious laughter and dimpled smiles. Most people know her as a sweetheart. She has a big heart and loves deeply and without question. Despite being a part of the popular crowd, she seems to be able to befriend anyone and is never only seen with just one person other than a best friend. Because of this bubbly attitude and blonde hair, most people mistake her for a ditz. However, that is a costly mistake and she will do well to make you remember that.
What most fail to realize is that Shailene may not be too old and she may not have been through enough to be on the same wave-length as adults, but she has endured a great struggle and with that comes a sense of wisdom that surprises even her mother. She actually has moments when she is even giving her mother advice. And it’s not always so surprising that she has the capacity for great intelligence. It’s her deliver; the almost careless nonchalance she exudes or the matter-of-fact tone when she’s trying to prove her point. Despite not being in school all the time and constantly staying in the hospital, Shailene tried her damnest to learn and read as much as she could. When she could barely roll her eyes without there being an ounce of pain, she had her mother read her to sleep, trying her hardest to retain as much information as she could.
Her doctors and other people call her stubborn for this and at some point, Shailene began to shrug them off. If being stubborn got her to where she wanted to go, then so be it. She could live by that. It can get her in trouble because she can come off too pushy or wind up on the wrong side of the tracks. But that does not always speak to her stubborn side; her naïve side attributes to this as well. Shailene is fairly innocent to the world; having not had her first kiss, first time, or even being on a date yet. To her, in a sense, life is still like a Disney movie. There’s always going to be a happy ending or there’s always good in every person. She hasn’t experienced the heartbreak her mother fears for her.
Lastly, Shailene is unconditionally a nerd. She absolutely loves going on Tumblr every night and having hour-long debates with fellow Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, Smallville, and any other TV Show-watchers. She can probably list every mythological creature or being she has read about without faltering and is a faithful v-blogger on YouTube for all of her TV shows. She fell in love with history as a young child and has actually taken to reciting quotes sometimes. But all in all, Shailene is who she is. She has been through enough to know the person she wants to be and embraces all of the learning she still has yet to get through.
~Wendell Berry
Up until she was about to turn ten, Shailene had a relatively normal childhood. She grew up in an upper- middle class family in town and pretty much was the light of her parents’ life. She was always a happy baby; the majority of her baby pictures consist of beautiful eyes and dimpled smiles on chubby cheeks. At a young age, she expressed a love for dancing and moving around, so her parents got her started with ballet lessons. She grew out of this phase relatively fast, opting more for gymnastics.
In elementary school, she began cheering with the local cheerleading squad in regional and sometimes national competitions on the children’s level. Shailene was always a natural leader and a flyer; she even used to choreograph some of the routines. She brought home two gold medals as a valuable player and her team won three times in a row as first place in regionals. However, all of that began to change in the months leading up to Shailene turning ten.
At first, she would just start getting very tired. Her parents both thought that it was simply a bug going around and upped her muli-vitamin intake. Then the random bruising began followed by a loss of appetite and weight loss. Like before, they thought it was a bug and decided to make a devastated Shailene stop cheering to get rest. But then her night sweats and fevers came in and she was rushed to the hospital one night because she kept drifting in and out of consciousness. It was there that her parents received the news that no parent wanted to hear. Shailene was suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
It was the first of four birthdays that Shailene had to spend in the hospital. She was always weak; either throwing up or sleeping away the pain. Chemotherapy was the worst thing a girl could experience and losing her hair made it nearly impossible to look at anyone without feeling disgusted. What was worse was that her father stopped trying to visit after the first six months. After a year, he left some money in both Shailene’s college account and the family account and then filed for divorce. He hasn’t even looked back, leaving behind a heartbroken daughter.
However, that betrayal only strengthened the relationship of mother and daughter. When her mother wasn’t strong enough to hear that Shailene wasn’t getting better, Shailene had to be her rock and vice versa. Her mother and grandparents spent weeks staying at the hospital with her; they would read to her, let her see videos of her cheerleading team because the other girls wanted her to know that they were cheering for her, and would just be her emotional crutches. Surprisingly, Shailene was able to keep up with what they were learning in school, never failing to do some assignments when she could.
At least three months after her fourteenth birthday, Shailene’s immune system showed signs of improvement. She spent less time in pain and more time reading with other kids in the hospital. She even was able to have more of her cheer friends over at the hospital to talk. After awhile, her doctors gave her the final go-ahead and Shailene was allowed to go home for the first time in a long time. Not a lot of people in town knew she was sick unless they were really close to the family, so she was greeted with a small party to welcome her back. But Shailene refused to just sit idly by while her healthy slowly returned.
Instead, she was incredibly active in it. She attended as much rehabilitation as she could and built up her stamina. She ate healthily, though she has recently begun to love pigging out. Old friends would go on walks with her and then jogs and then allowed her to start doing so on her own. While her mother has been steadily protective and cautious, Shailene has been a tad bit reckless. She hated having to lay down and get better and has worked her ass off to get to where she is. Of course, there is still a part of her that fears that she will suddenly relapse despite it now being two years. But she remains optimistic.
I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath
Scared to rock the boat and make a mess
So I sat quietly, agreed politely
I guess that I forgot I had a choice
I let you push me past the breaking point
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything
You held me down, but I got up (HEY!)
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, you hear that sound
Like thunder gonna shake the ground
You held me down, but I got up (HEY!)
Get ready 'cause I’ve had enough
I see it all, I see it now
[Chorus]
I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
'Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
'Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You’re gonna hear me roar
Now I’m floating like a butterfly
Stinging like a bee I earned my stripes
I went from zero, to my own hero
You held me down, but I got up (HEY!)
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, you hear that sound
Like thunder gonna shake the ground
You held me down, but I got up (HEY!)
Get ready ’cause I’ve had enough
I see it all, I see it now
[Chorus]
I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
‘Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
‘Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You’re gonna hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You'll hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You're gonna hear me roar...
Ro-oar, ro-oar, ro-oar, ro-oar, ro-oar
I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
‘Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
‘Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You’re gonna hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You'll hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You're gonna hear me roar...
I don't wanna be left behind
Distance was a friend of mine
Catching breath in a web of lies
I've spent most of my life
Riding waves, playing acrobat
Shadowboxing the other half
Learning how to react
I've spent most of my time
Catching my breath, letting it go,
Turning my cheek for the sake of the show
Now that you know, this is my life,
I won't be told what's supposed to be right
Catch my breath, no one can hold me back,
I ain't got time for that
Catch my breath, won't let them get me down,
It's all so simple now
Addicted to the love I found
Heavy heart, now a weightless cloud
Making time for the ones that count
I'll spend the rest of my time
Laughing hard with the windows down
Leaving footprints all over town
Keeping faith, karma comes around
I will spend the rest of my life
Catching my breath, letting it go,
Turning my cheek for the sake of the show
Now that you know, this is my life,
I won't be told what's supposed to be right
Catch my breath, no one can hold me back,
I ain't got time for that
Catch my breath, won't let them get me down,
It's all so simple now
You helped me see
The beauty in everything
Catching my breath, letting it go,
Turning my cheek for the sake of the show
Now that you know, this is my life,
I won't be told what's supposed to be right
Catching my breath, letting it go,
Turning my cheek for the sake of the show
Now that you know, this is my life,
I won't be told what's supposed to be right
Catch my breath
Catch my breath, no one can hold me back,
I ain't got time for that
Catch my breath, won't let them get me down,
It's all so simple now
It's all so simple now
Catching my breath, letting it go,
Turning my cheek for the sake of the show
Now that you know, this is my life,
I won't be told what's supposed to be right

- Shailene's car -- She has her permit and can only drive with friends that are 18 or older. It will be hers once she gets a liscense.
- Her Yorkie -- Shailene loves her baby girl. Her name is Lexie and she is still very much a puppy. Lexie was a pup to a dog that was run over. The poor thing hadn't left her mother's side until someone called seeing the pup with the carcass. Needless to say, it was love at first sight.
