People have started to go missing from all over the country. First it started off with a few kids ranging from the ages of 10 to 18. The kids would go missing for days on end, their bodies eventually showing up in random order, always on a beach off the coast of Maine. The ways they died varied from a broken neck to strangulation, and no one could figure out what the connection between the kids were. Some kids would come back, dead, having died from drug over dose, or a rapid cancer, even though the kids were perfectly healthy before they were abducted. The situation baffled authorities, and for many months the investigations went nowhere.
After a year of kids going missing, the abductors started to become more bold, taking more than one child from a family, and then eventually taking entire families. The United States was in a panic, everyone terrified that their family would be next. Our two protagonists never imagined that they'd be put in such a horrible situation. Their families taken, abducted by a masked crew of people, drugged and flown to some abandoned prison that no one knew about. They called it The Institute, and it's where all the families have been disappearing off to.
What was even more bazar was that the Institute was a mixture of an underground fight club, and a secret lab. The Institute was run by a group of scientists who experimented on their captives, trying to turn them into living weapons. The process was rigorous, first starting the new comers out in small brawls against one another, a fight to the death. The winners of the gladiator fights would be taken to the labs daily, tested on in horrible ways, injected with experimental liquids, and given new limbs should the old ones rot off from all the testing. Once the experiments were a success, and the subject was given special abilities, the human weapons would fight against each other, while the lab testing continued to make the winners of the fights stronger.
With the death of their loved ones, our two heroes struggle to remain sane, the brutal testing taking its toll on their bodies. They have to work together to make it out of the Institute alive, or die trying.

Robin stood a bit in shock and rubbing the arm that was hit by the door that flew in on him. The brighter light from the hallway nearly blinding him. He heard the voice speak to him, "Come on, let's get you back upstairs," and even though he could only see a silhouette standing in the doorway, he knew it was Dominique. Robin just stood there for a stunned moment. He was not sure what she was up to. Perhaps it could even be some sort of test. Perhaps they were using Dom as a lure to see if Robin would actually try to leave and escape, only to punish him harsher for doing so.

Raising up a hand in a manner as if to say "hold on", he shook his head and then lowered himself back to the floor. "Dom, think about what you are doing. If this is you attempt to rescue me, you and I both know we won't get out of here. All that will happen is we will either end up harshly punished or dead. You need to get yourself back to where you belong so you don't end up in one of these miserable cells."

Robin just scooted himself back to a corner of the cell and sat with his head lowered to his propped up knees. It was clear that his spirit was beaten down and he had no desire to fight at this time if ever again. He had resigned himself to the thought that whatever this place was and whoever these people were, they held the power and he was nothing more than a lab rat to them. Looking back up to the girl in the doorway just standing there and staring at him he just said, "Please Dom, you must go...for your own good and safety."

Dominique stood there, eyebrow raised at the broken spirited Robin. She glanced around the hallway, listening hard for any foot steps through the banging of the other inmates. Dominique took a step forward, kneeling down in front of Robin, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Robin, I'm not gonna just leave you here," She said in a soft tone. "We're partners, it's bullshit that they're punishing you for genuine human emotions. You're angry, and you want answers. I refuse to let you just lay down and give up... I'm not saying let's break out of here right now, but at least let's get you up and out of this room." When Robin didn't answer, Dominique frowned and stood up, crossing her arms. "Robin, I'm not taking no for an answer. Either you walk yourself out of this cell, or I drag you." Robin continued to look defeated, refusing to move. Dom's temper flared slightly, anger showing in her eyes. "I had to knock out two guards to get down here, one of them I had to kiss the other almost drowned me! Get up you big softy, I'm not wasting my efforts." Dom softly kicked Robin's foot, trying to motivate him to move.
Dominique continued to try and get Robin up, but when he just sat down and looked up blankly at Dom, she decided she had enough. "That's it! We're going upstairs, you forced me to do this." She walked behind Robin, putting her arms under his, lifting the much bigger man with slight ease. Robin struggled at first, trying to push Dominique away, but it was apparent his head still hurt, because soon he just gave up, closing his eyes and allowing her to drag him all the way up the stairs, Juan still laying motionless at the top.
By the time Dominique managed to carry Robin up two stories, she was starting to get tired, her human arm shaking slightly as a thin film of sweat covered her back. At one point Dominique had to throw Robin and herself into an empty office due to people running down the hallway, obviously looking for her. "Henry must be up," Dominique whispered more to herself than Robin. Once the footsteps were a good distance away Dom turned to Robin. "Can you please walk?! We're already in this together, you might as well not make it harder for me..." Eventually Robin stood, although he still looked unhappy. Dominique slowly opened the door, checking the hallway. Surprisingly enough, no one managed to catch Robin or Dom as they walked back to their cell, which they managed to find through the winding hallways. Dominique tried to punch in a few codes into the key pad, but none of them worked. "Well... I can try to rewire it, but that takes time and I don't have my tools..."
"Oh, don't worry, you don't need your tools." Dom's head snapped to the left, Dr. Luxuria standing there, a mixture of stress and interest on her face. She was chewing on her lip and picking at her skirt, but she was smiling past her gnawing, looking like she'd just seen something exciting. Dominique frowned, crossing her arms, glancing to a very uncaring Robin. "You're a very smart girl, Dominique," Luxuria purred, walking towards the two inmates. "Not only figuring out how to subdue two guards on a whim, but also figuring out not to take the elevator, and what to listen for as you sneak around." Dominique glared. "I get smart when my friend is imprisoned for no good reason."
"He lost his temper, we had to make sure he wouldn't go on a rampage like you." Luxuria pulled out a phone, texting something to Dom assumed was a guard or Lucius. "You could have just answered his questions..." Luxuria put her phone away, looking up at Dominique now. "We both know why I can't do that... Everyone needs their secrets." Dominique glanced around the hallway, debating if it was a good idea to attack this woman or now. "What are you going to do to us?" Dominique asked instead. "Oh, nothing this time. This is exactly what we wanted, to see how strong the bond between two partners can get... However, next time either one of you does something like this again, we will punish both of you." The smile on Luxiria's face was sweet, but there was a sinister look to it. Turning around the Doctor punched in a hidden pin code, opening the door to Dom and Robin's cell. "I'll see you tomorrow, Dommie," She giggled as the two walked into the room, closing the door behind them.

Robin walked through the door and into the cell and sat down heavily on a chair by the small table. He heard Dominique walk in and then the door to the cell slide shot and lock with a click. He could sense that Dominique was not happy; could almost feel the heat of her anger as it radiated off of her body. He felt her eyes bore into the back of his head as she stood there. Then, without a word she went to her bunk and pulled out the three ring binder that held their manuals and started reading again.

The two said nothing the rest of that day. Robin hopped to his bunk and went to sleep almost instantly. his body craving the softness of the mattress. It was from this deep sleep that he was rudely awakened. Something strong grabbed his arm and yanked him. He didn't stop moving until his body hit the floor of the cell, five feet below the mattress. Robin gasped by the sudden shock of pain, gasping to recapture the air that was knocked out of him.

As he struggled to get to his feet, he noticed there were four large men in the room dressed from head to toe in white. Looking to Dom's bunk, he saw the red fletching of the tranquilizer dart sticking from her neck. A sharp jab came to his rib cage as he tried to stand. One of the men had rammed their knee into him, then a sharp blow to the back of his head sent Robin to his knees again.

"Get up!" one of the men snarled at him. Robin again tried to stand and again was assaulted by another of the four. One sharp blow to his jaw and then a kick to his crotch. Robin's world spun around him as he grabbed onto the bunk to try to stand, but soon was back on the ground. Not a moment later, hands were grabbing him and pulling him to his feet. Two men started to drag Robin from the cell and into the hallway.

A short walk later and Robin found himself in a large room. The walls were bare metal with a window to another room looking in. The window was one-way glass, and Robin had no doubt there was an audience on the other side of it. The four men circled around Robin, having each picked up a four foot long, 2 inch think metal rod. It was then Robin noticed a set of two lights above the window. One was green and the other red. The red one was lit at this time, but as Robin watched, the red light went out and the green one came on.

Instantly, the four men started to beat on Robin with the rods. Bone could be heard cracking and cuts, bruises, and blood were soon to be seen. Robin went to his knees as the beating continued. Soon the red light went on and the four stopped. They stood around Robin, breathing hard from their exertion. Robin too was catching his breath, but as he did, he could feel and see himself heal. As he looked up, he saw the green light flash back on and the man standing before him raising his bar to smash down on Robin's head.

Robin's hand went up instinctively. The bar stopped where it was with a sharp jolt. A quick tug and Robin had the bar in his hand, quickly getting to his feet and dodging the next two swings coming his way. As the four man swung his bar, Robin blocked it with the bar he had acquired. Robin's foot went up and caught the man in white in his mid section, sending him sharply to the wall behind him. The man hit the wall and slid down it, then slouched over motionless to his side on the floor.

Turning again, he saw a bar swinging at his head, ducking, he heard the sickening sound of the bar making contact with the shoulder of the man in white opposite his position. He too went to the ground writhing in pain. The man who Robin took the bar from now lunged at Robin and hit him at his waist. The two went into the wall behind Robin. Robin sent a sharp blow with his knee to the man's chest that made him drop to the floor. Another kick to the man's mid section sent him sprawling across the floor of the room.

The last man in white stood there, holding the bar in his hand at the ready. The bar shook noticeably in his hands. Robin grinned. He took the bar in his hands and bent it as if it were Styrofoam. The man dropped his bar and put up a hand as if begging for mercy. Robin took the bent bar and threw it at the man, hitting him in the knees. A gruesome crack could be heard and the man went slumping to the ground. Robin now looked up at the window. "Take me back to my cell. I'm tired of being your lab rat!"

The door to the room flung open and two men entered with two more at the doorway. All four had guns raised. Robin held up his hands and the first man in the room said, "Make your way to the door and back down the hallway to your cell. Nothing funny or we open up on you." Robin looked back up to the window and nodded his approval. "Thanks! I'll see you in the arena."

Robin was led back to his room with no further trouble. The door was opened and he walked in. When the door slid shut, Robin made his way back to the bunks and sat down next to Dominique, who was still out. He gently pulled the dart from her neck and rubbed her back.

When Robin pulled the dart from her neck, Dominique didn't wake up for another hour. However, when she did wake up, it was with a loud gasp and a jolt upwards. Her head was pounding as she flailed out of bed, standing up and looking around. Thankfully Robin had moved away from Dominique quickly, managing to avoid getting hit by her arms and legs. Dominique squinted at the light, checking her surroundings as she relaxed. Looking to Dominique, she visibly did a once over on him, not surprised to see there was no sign of physical harm on his body, accept for the blood that was on his shoes, which he had yet to change. "I heard them come in, but... They drugged me too fast." Dom sat down on her bed, looking tired, despite her extra sleep. Her and Robin talked, Robin explaining what happened while she was asleep, Dominique visibly getting distressed.
"I should have expected this, of course they wouldn't let you go unpunished... I had time to stop them, I-I..." Dominique was pacing the room, clenching and unclenching her fists. She started to grow agitated, but before she could lash out Robin had stood up, and grabbed her shoulders, forcing Dom to look him in the face. The two didn't say anything, just looked at one another, as if Robin was saying 'I'm okay'. Dominique slowly relaxed, nodding her thanks to Robin as they both sat back down. The two sat in silence, Robin reading his manual while Dominique lay back in her bed, thinking.
A long while later the pin to the door could be heard beeping, the door opening to reveal a very blank looking Henry. There was a large bruise on his jaw, which looked very painful. He didn't look at Dominique just stared right above her head. "Come with me, Miss Barrel." Dom silently rose, glancing to Robin before following Henry out of the room. The two walked down the hall silently, Dominique glancing occasionally at Henry, who continued to refuse to look at her. "You know I had to do something, right?" Dom broke the awkward silence. Henry didn't respond for a moment before mumbling, "You used me, and managed to break my heart at the same time... You had a choice, and you chose the wrong one." Dom scoffed, finding the whole thing amusing more than anything. "You're just upset that you got beaten by a girl." Henry didn't respond, but there was obvious anger on his face.
Henry escorted Dom to the lab, where Dr. Luxuria was waiting, smiling to Dominique, who gave a sarcastic smile back. "Our escape artist is here, I see! Today's the last day, before you have your big fight!" Dominique didn't say anything, just went over and sat down on the table. "If you keep acting so cheerful about me killing someone, I'm going to hit you again," Dom mumbled, smiling at the fear that flashed across Luxuria's face. "No need to be so mean... Take your shirt off and lay back." Dom did as she was told, looking down when she heard a loud click, like a hand cuff. There was a thick cuff around Dom's bionic wrist, which was heavily welded to the bed frame, making it impossible for Dom to easily pull it off, unless she wanted to somehow manage to tip the bed over. The rest of her limbs were bound as Luxuria grabbed the usual needle full of the strengthening serum.
Once again the pain was intense, but Dominique refused to pass out or scream. She pulled against her bindings, but the metal cuff held strong. When Luxuria finally extracted the needle from Dom's heart, her patience was panting heavily, sweat dripping down her face. Dominique waited for the bindings to be released, but no one came to undo them. Looking over, she could see Luxuria messing with something on the tray, but couldn't see what. "Now, do you know what conditioning is?" Luxuria asked, not turning around. Dominique looked confused, glancing to a grim-faced Henry, noticing the usual fear creeping back onto his face as he watched Luxuria. "Isn't that some sport thing?" Dominique asked, looking at the back of Luxuria. The doctor gave a mirthless laugh, shaking her head. She turned around, reveling two electrically charged paddles, much like the ones asylums would use for electric shock therapy. "Not exactly. Mental conditioning is essentially me training your brain. For dogs, they can be trained to expect a treat when they hear a snap. Each time you snap, you give them a treat. After a while when you snap, the dogs look to you, expecting a treat." Luxuria started to mess with some buttons on the machine the paddles were attached to, the machine humming menacingly.
"You've made a bad habit of thinking you run this place, by attacking anyone who challenges you. With Mr. Slater we can easily subdue him with darts, however your body also adapted faster reflexes than your partner, so we can't really subdue you easily. I've decided to condition you. When you hear a sound, you'll expect pain, but that involves me to torcher you until you're conditioned." Luxuria was smiling like a crazy woman, obviously enjoying the terrified look on Dom's face. Dominique glanced to Henry, who was now looking away, the terror on Dom's face mirrored in his. Dominique looked back to see Luxuria suddenly getting on top of her, straddling her hips. "Now, most people would go for your brain, just like in the asylum. However, I've worked hard to make you who you are, so it'd be a waist to damage such a beautiful brain like yours. That, and I know much more painful places to shock you." Luxuria was talking in a very husky, aroused voice, looking clearly excited physically and sexually. She grinned as her eyes scanned Dom's body. "For example, I can shock your bionic arm, and it would spread through your entire body. I can shock your heart, and it would feel like your heart is stopping. However, my favorite area of torcher is the ribs. Not only will it be more painful, but the pain will spread to your lungs, and it'll feel like you're suffocating."
Dominique had started to cry, staring up at Luxuria, pleading wit her eyes to not do what she was about to do. Luxuria, of course, only found joy in the tears, continuing on with her plan. She pulled out a dog clicker from her pocket, calling Henry over. "Each time I tell you, I want you to press that button. I'll give her a nice couple seconds of electricity, and then we'll give her a processing period, then repeat until she expects pain whenever she hears the clicker." Henry reluctantly took the clicker from Luxuria, finally looking at Dom, who was still crying. Luxuria pulled the cart holding the electric machine closer, still straddling Dom's hips.
"Now," Luxuria said. Henry clicked the button, a small 'click' coming from the object. Right away Luxuria pressed the small paddles against Dom's ribs, the electricity coursing through Dom. Luxuria was right, now only did the burning sensation spread through her ribs, but her lungs seemed to compact, the feeling of suffocating making the pain even worse. Dominique tried not to scream, but before long she was crying out, trying to fight against her bindings. Luxuria pulled the paddles away, looking both shocked and overjoyed back Dom's reaction. Dominique lay panting on the table, bawling as she looked at Henry, mumbling please of mercy. "Again," Luxuria commanded. Once again Dom's insides burned worse than ever, forcing her to scream and writhe, trying to get away from the source of the excruciating pain. For the rest of the morning Dominique was torchered, screaming and crying until eventually whenever she heard the click of the dog clicker, she'd flinch away, squeezing her eyes shut as she tensed up, feeling the phantom pain in her sides and lungs. Luxuria put the paddles down, sliding off of the exhausted Dominique, looking smug and joyful that her conditioning worked.
"You did very well, Dominique. I'm proud of you for being such a trooper," Luxuria smiled down at her as she undid the bindings, feeling completely safe now that she had Dominique trained. Dom slowly sat up, her sides aching from the hours of torcher. Her eyes burned from crying so much, but the tears refused to stop flowing, expressing her physical and mental agony as she stared at the floor. Luxuria helped Dom put her shirt back on, still smiling triumphantly. "I hope you do well in your fight tomorrow," Luxuria purred before walking away. Henry slowly walked up to the silent Dominique, carefully offering his hand. Dom took it, allowing Henry to pull her off of the bed, and lead her back to her room. When they got there Henry gave Dominique a hug before opening the door, Dom walking into the room.
Robin was sitting in his bed, but sat up and looked at Dominique when she entered the room. She hardly managed to look at Robin before falling to her knees, bawling loudly once again, shaking as curled into herself, her lungs still burning.

Robin moved quickly to Dominique when the door closed and she feel to her knees. As he went to grab her by the waist to pick her up, he felt her tense up and pulled back as she let out a scream of pain. Robin asked, "Dom...what is it? What did they do to you?" Robin's eyes widen in horror as he watched Dom pull up her shirt to reveal he damaged ribs. Robin fell on his knees before her as his eyes stayed on the reddened area. He moved a bit closer and pulled Dominique onto his lap and held her in a hug for a long while, letting the girl cry herself to sleep.

Once she had fallen to sleep, he gently picked her up and placed her on bed, covering her up and then sitting on a chair by the table. He could feel his rage building inside of him. He did his best to control it, knowing there was no way to let it out here and doing so would only wake up the sleeping girl.

He sat in silence for several hours before the door slide open and two large men entered the room with what looked to be cattle prods. Robin could see at least four more men in the hallway with the same devices waiting. One of the men looked at Robin and asked, "Is she sleeping? It's time to eat. Is she able to come?" Robin glared at the man asking the question, "Who are you? Where are Juan and Sam?" The man stepped closer to Robin, smacking him in the head with the butt of the prod. He then took a step back and said, "I asked you a question." Robin stood and a step to the man, who looked visibly shaken to see Robin acting in this manner and clicked the prod into action, a small blue arc of energy dancing between two prongs on the end of the device. "I asked you a question. Now answer me before you make me use this on you."

Robin was about to respond when he saw Dominique turn over in the bed. Walking past the man, he sat down next to her and patted her leg. "It's time to go eat. Are you feeling up to it?" Dominique sat for a moment, as if trying to catch her breath, before nodding to Robin. He then stood and offered a hand to the girl to help her up. They then were escorted to the dining room, finding it empty of other "inmates".

Robin took Dom to a seat and helped her to sit. It was obvious she was still in a good deal of pain and discomfort. After finding out what she was hungry for, he went to the counter to get food for the her and himself. He brought it back to the table and sat down watching as a dozen guards were standing around the room watching the two eat. He wasn't sure why, but he was quite hungry and ate his food as if he had not eaten for weeks. He watched Dom pick at her food. Obviously she was not feeling like eating at this time. "Perhaps we can take some food back for you if you are not hungry right now." Dom just pushed her tray of food away and shook her head no.

As they finished, their guard escort came back to the table and "encouraged" them to get up and head back to the cell. Before shutting the door, the lead guard said to the pair, "Get a good rest. We will be back to take you to breakfast and then your fight will be shortly afterwards." The door went shut and locked. Robin helped to tucked Dom back into her bed and then sat down at the table, looking through the manual before falling asleep himself.

When Dom woke up the next morning, her sides continued to burn and ache, although dulled down compared to the day before. She woke before Robin, getting up and taking a cold shower, which seemed to help the pain. Once she was done drying off and combing her hair, Robin was up and giving her anxious glances. "We need a strategy," Dom offered. The two talked about their upcoming fight, spit balling ideas on how to win. By the time the guards came into the room, both of them had decided to take on separate opponents, keeping the partners separate so they couldn't team up. For this fight Dominique would be taking on the smaller of the two, seeing as she was having a hard time moving at all.
Dom and Robin left the room with their escorts, grouping up with two other pairs of inmates, and being taken down to the Pit. Robin and Dominique would be the second group to go, waiting for almost an hour before they were called out. As usual, the lights were blinding and the computer voice called their names. "Robin Slater and Dominique Barrel versus James Andrew and Dani Page." Dom squinted out to see the pair, a small male and a larger female glaring out at them. James Andrew looked twitchy, a constant column of smoke pouring out of his nose, and when he opened his mouth to bare his teeth, a dull glow could be seen at the back of his throat, almost like there was an internal fire blazing in him. Dominique didn't have time to look at the other woman, Dani, before James launched forward, going for Robin.
Dominique acted instinctively, jumping forward and tackling James midair, both of them going down with a loud thud. The crowd in the stands actually cheered as Dominique could hear Robin and Dani square off, obviously full of older inmates that were now use to the brutality of their new lives. Dominique quickly rolled away from James as he flailed around, her sides burning angrily at all the movement. Dominique crouched low to the ground, almost in a spider man pose as she looked to see James flip off of his back into a standing position in one fluid movement. James opened his mouth, bellowing out a yell as the glow in the back of his throat brightened. Dominique rolled out of the way just in time as a burst of flames blackened the ground right were Dom had been. Surprised, Dominique didn't see Robin stumbling right at her, the partners colliding. Dominique managed to keep her balance, however, taking a few shaky steps back. James bellowed again, Dominique managing to grab Robin by his shirt and slide him out of the way, attempting to roll with the momentum.
Some of the white hot flames caught Dom's right shoulder, the skin instantly sizzling, the pain searing as Dominique patted the flaming skin. Focusing on James again, Dominique raised her fist, the pain slowly subsiding in her shoulder, James getting madder at the fact that she wasn't even fazed. James and Dom ran at each other, both colliding hard, James trying to bellow flames at her from close range, but Dominique forced his face away from her. The two were locked into each other, still upright but spinning and wrestling at the same time. Dominique got a glancing knee into James' ribs as they pulled away. James seemed to be trying to get some distance from Dominique, but the red head didn't allow him, lurching forward and catching him in the jaw with a left hook, the skin where her bionic fist caught him quickly ripping away. The crowed seemed to go wild at the splash of blood that came from James' jaw. Dominique barley registered the noise of Dani getting the wind knocked out of her, or the sound of Robin getting pushed to the ground, completely focused on throwing once punch after the other.
Eventually James managed to get away from the punches, a few of them hitting him while he dodged the rest. Once again flames poured from his mouth, Dominique running out of the way as the fire followed her. James paused in his relentless flame breathing, obviously winded. Dom took this chance to grab a hand full of dirt from the ground, and throw it at James. The dragon man dodged out of the way, but didn't see Dom's fist swinging out from the side. James reeled, the blow jarring him as his nose was now visibly broken, the smoke coming out of it at odd angles now. Dominique went back to her previous method of hitting the stunned James as much as possible. She hit him in the stomach and head until James was backed up against a wall, Dominique swinging her bionic fist back, and throwing it forward as hard as possible. The metal went straight through the already crushed and battered skull of James, straight into the cement wall, cracking it and sinking in a few inches. Grossed out, Dominique quickly withdrew her fist from both the wall and the skull of James, who fell limply to the ground before bursting into flames.
Dominique took a few steps backwards, panting heavily, wincing as the pain in her chest became apparent. Looking over, she saw Dani staring at the burning pile of her dead partner, flailing as Robin was on top of her, hands on her throat as he crushed her wind pipe. Slowly Dani gave up, the life from her eyes ebbing away, still staring at the smoldering pile of ash. Robin eventually got off of the dead woman, looking to Dom with slightly triumphant eyes. Dominique flashed him a smile, turning as the doors to the pit opened, walking through them with Robin. They had made it through their first fight together, virtually unharmed. Dom couldn't help but smile to herself as the cheer behind them screamed and cheered.

His attention had been on Dominique as he saw the woman fly through the air to knock down the man who was hurling himself at Robin. He never saw the attack coming from Dani. Her arms were wrapped around him, squeezing him as if he were coiled up by an anaconda. It was all he could do to stay breathing as he felt the coiled arms crushing his rib cage. Looing at Dani, Robin noticed that even her eyes were that of a reptilian and a forked tongue moved in and out of her mouth.

Robin then heard Dom cry out in pain as her shirt was on fire. This enraged him. The only person left in this world that he cared for was in pain and he would not allow that to happen if he had anything to say about it. Looking back at Dani, Robin was close enough to the woman to slam his forehead into hers. Doing so stunned her and he could feel her coiled grip around his body loosen a bit. He quickly flexed his upper body and pressed as hard as he could against the coils.

Soon he felt the coils give way and looking back at the snake woman, blood flowing like a stream down her forehead to her nose and dripping from there, he saw a look of uncertainty and then one of fear as Robin started to push her coiled arms off of himself until his arms were free and a punch landed on Dani's face. The cracking of the cartilage in her nose could be heard and soon a flow of blood came from her nose, matching the flow from her forehead.

Dani let go and stumbled backwards, her arms now back to normal size. Her hand went to her nose and was soon covered with her own blood. When she looked back at Robin she was just in time to see another fist about to land on her chin. If the sound of the cracking didn't tell you her jaw was just broken, the gruesome sight of the jaw just dangling from the upper part of her face would indicate what the punch had done. Dani dropped to her knees and Robin took a quick look over to see how Dominique was doing.

He looked just in time to see Dom removing her fist from the skull of James. Robin looked back to Dani who was still on her knees. A swift kick to her head sent her flying off the ground to land on her back. Robin then jumped on top of her, his hands at her neck squeezing the life out of her just as she had intended to squeeze the life from him. Robin saw how Dani was now looking at James and then her eyes just stayed fixed and her body went limp.

He stood up, feeling the touch of Dom's hand at his elbow as he stared at the body lying in front of him. Looking to Dominique, he saw her lips move, but heard no sound as the crowd drowned out the words she was saying, but he then saw the doors to the pit open and knew she was telling him they could leave. He followed her out. The two were taken to a locker room where clean clothes and towels awaited them.

Robin blushed as he saw there was only one shower room. He then looked at Dominique. "You can go ahead and go first. I will stay out here; keep my eyes to myself." As Dom went to the shower room, Robin sat on a bench and thought about what had just happened. He could not believe the strength he felt flowing through him and was not certain what to think of it. As the sound of the water stopped, Robin started to grab the towel and clothing left for him. When Dom came out, he gave her a soft smile and went in to shower. Undressing, her turned the water on and then stepped under the warm stream, closing his eyes as he tried to wash away the thought of what just happened along with the sweat and blood.

When both Robin and Dominique were showered and dressed, they were escorted out of the locker room, but instead of going to their room, they were taken up to Lucius' office. Robin and Dom walked through the doors, a very happy looking Lucius sitting at his desk. "Ah, if it isn't my two most favorite experiments!" He smiled wide, his arms open as he gestured to Dominique and Robin, the two exchanging glances. "Please, sit!" Both of them did, although Dominique was visibly tense, sitting on the edge of her chair. "I must say that fight was fantastic! How is your shoulder, Dominique? All healed, I hope." The question was rhetorical, Lucius obviously knowing every single detail about her and Robins newest abilities.
"Can you believe that it's only been a month sense you two have arrived here? I'm quite surprised you both are still standing, although I know Robin was having some difficulty staying up. I'm sure you are home sick, and tired of the constant experimenting and working out. Just know that the worst is all over-" Dom's temper flared, her fists crushing the wooden arm rests of her chair as she growled, "Bullshit! It'll only get worse from here, and you know it. Sure, the start of your torcher is over, but it'll never end, don't lie to us and pretend like we're stupid!" Lucius looked taken aback by the outburst, but not surprised. His hand fidgeted with something under his desk, looking at Dom like she was a bull about to charge. "Now, now, let's not get upset, Dominique," He soothed. That only made matters worse. Dominique bolted from her chair, knocking it over in the process as she slammed her fists on the solid wood desk in front of her. "Don't tell me to calm down, bastard! You've ripped our lives apart like we're nothing! You fucking maniac!"
Dominique grabbed onto Lucius' desk, throwing it to the side with a frustrated yell. Lucius tensed in fear, pushing his chair back as he suddenly pressed the thing he was fidgeting with under the desk. At first Dominique didn't register the small 'click', but like magic Dominique froze, her sides suddenly tensing, and all the air escaping her lungs as she fell to the floor, cowering as the memory of the pain spread through her body. Dominique lay huddled in a ball, feeling Robins hands on her as tears welled in her eyes. "So the conditioning did work," Lucius said in awe. Dominique glared at Lucius' feet, tears blurring her vision as she spat, "You bastard..." Lucius didn't say anything, just walked around Robin and Dominique, opening the doors and beckoning the guards in.
Dom was forced to stand by the guards, but Robin fought them off, yelling at them. Putting his arm around Dominique, the two inmates walked out of the room, Dominique huddled close to her larger partner, tears still involuntarily streaking down her face. When they were escorted back to their room, Dominique didn't pull away from Robin, hanging tightly onto him. "Can you just... Lay with me till I fall asleep?" Dominique asked pitifully. She felt Robin nod, leading them to the bottom bunk, allowing Dom to crawl into the bed first before laying down next to her, Dominique resuming her position at his side, hugging Robin. It took a while, but eventually Dominique fell into a fitful sleep, her dreams full of murder and pain.
When Dominique was woken up, it wasn't by Robin, but instead by Henry. "Hey... You've been sleeping for a while, you missed dinner last night, and it's almost 8 o'clock now. Luxuria wants you in the lab." Dominique frowned, scooting off of the bed. She looked around to see Robin sitting at the desk, looking very unapprovingly at Henry, glancing to Dom with a soft look. Henry allowed her to clean up a bit, her face still crusty from her tears, and her hair a wild mess. Dominique squeezed Robin's shoulder as she left, mumbling her thanks for the night before. Henry didn't say anything for a while as they walked down the hall. "I'm sorry about the other day... I didn't know Luxuria was going to make me do that..."
Dominique's usual temper sparked alive, stopping and starring at Henry. "You knew she was going to torcher me?! You're sorry that you were involved, not because I got hurt! You're just as bad as everyone else, you son of a bitch! I'm glad they switched our guards, because I didn't have to deal with seeing your pitiful face!" Dominique stormed off, walking herself to Luxuria's lab, shoving the doors open. The doctor looked up, raising an eyebrow at the pissed off girl, but didn't ask any questions. "I heard you had a rough night... Today's going to be simple, we're just improving your abilities. Shirt off, please, and switch to those running shoes." Luxuria gestured towards some socks and shoes on a tray, prepping what looked like a bunch of stickers with wires on them. Dominique removed her shirt, and switched her shoes as she was told. "Why the new kicks?" Dom asked, looking to Luxuria. "Like I said, we're going to adapt your abilities. We already know it's possible. You saw Robin get hit multiple times with a trank, so therefore you adapted yourself to have faster reflexes. I figured that with some coaxing, we can increase your speed." It was then that Dominique noticed the treadmill in the corner of the room. "Over here, please, so I can hook you up." Luxuria steered Dom towards the running machine, sticking on the wires to different areas of Dom's torso, then gesturing her to get onto the treadmill. Dominique started off at a walk, but Luxuria slowly increased the speed until Dom was flat out running. It didn't take long for sweat to start to shine on Dominique's back, and by the time Luxuria allowed her patient to stop running, Dom felt like her legs had fallen off an hour ago. She lay down on the cool tile floor, panting as Luxuria grinned down at her. "You did well. I know I shouldn't be, seeing as you're as stubborn as a mule, but I'm surprised you lasted that long." Luxuria gave Dom a flirty wink, giggling at her own innuendo. Dominique didn't share her enthusiasm, too tired to even turn her head to look at the doctor. "That's all for today, I'll get a guard to escort you back to your room. I'll see you tomorrow to resume this," Luxuria said as she pealed off the sweat covered stickers. Dominique hardly made it back to the room, and when she did she went straight to the floor again, groaning at Robin's questions when she got back.

Robin went to his knees and gently picked up Dominique. He took the woman up in his arms and wrinkled his nose. "Wow, I don't meant o be rude, but you are a bit sweaty and smelly. I think you need a shower." Looking at Dominique and seeing her utterly exhausted, he just sighed and shook his head. "Perhaps after you rest some." He walked over to her bed and laid her down on it. Sitting down next to her, her gently rubbed her thigh closest to him and just watched over her as she laid there with her eyes closed.

It was not too much later that the door to the cell opened and Juan was standing in the doorway. He pointed at Robin and motioned him out to the hallway. "Your turn. The doctor is waiting for you down in the pool area." Robin stood up, taking a last look at the girl on the bed before heading out of the cell.

The two men walked down the hallway and then down a couple flights of steps before coming to a large room with a pool. Walking inside, Robin saw Henry standing next to Dr. Luxuria. Henry was holding a set of chains and locks. "Put them on him," the doctor ordered. Robin looked around a bit confused as Juan and Henry started to walk to him to put him in the chains. "What the hell is going on?" Robin demanded.

Dr. Luxuria just grinned. "We are going to work on strengthening your breathing and holding your breath. Just as I am working with Ms. Barrel to increase her speed, I am working with you to increase your ability to hold your breath for extended periods of time." Robin just watched as the men chained him up and locked the chains. He tried to snap the chains, but they seemed to be a bit too much for him at this time. Finally they attached a hundred pound weight to the chains. Robin had a look of fear on his face as the men pulled him to the edge of the pool. The doctor just smiled and said, "Just focus on relaxing and slowing down your heart rate." With that the two men pushed Robin into the pool. He sank like a rock to the bottom.

Robin struggled more against the chains, but there still was no give to them. When he pushed against them, they seemed to stretch and then held fast to him when he relaxed. So, with no other choice, he closed his eyes and did as the doctor said. He tried to relax and thought about his heart, thinking of it slowing down. In a few moments he felt his lungs begging for more air, but he continued to try his best to relax.

He doesn't remember what happened next. Everything went black and when he opened his eyes he was lying on the deck of the pool, Juan on top of him with an oxygen mask. Turning his head a bit he saw Luxuria writing on a iPad, a bit of a frustrated look on her face. "That was quite disappointing, Mr. Slater. Only two minutes. You need to do much more than that, much more. A few more injections should help with that and perhaps some more for your strength too. I half thought you would snap those chains. Very disappointing."

Robin was helped to his feet and led back to the cell. When he got in, he saw Dominique was out of the bed and could hear the shower running. He sat heavily down on a chair and hung his head as he tried to regain his senses. A short while after he heard the shower stop, he heard the door to the bathroom open and heard a slight gasp for Dom, no doubt surprised to see Robin sitting there. He did not lift his head, perhaps too exhausted to do so. But, soon a soft hand was on his back, giving it a gently rub.

For the next couple of days, Dominique would be taken away from Robin, and made to run for hours on end. Eventually her legs stopped burning and her sides wouldn't cramp. With each day Luxuria would pick up the pace on the treadmill, starting from 10mph to 20mph. By the time Thursday came, Dominique could run over 40mph, the muscles in her legs gaining incredible strength. Friday came, and instead of Luxuria putting Dom back on the treadmill, she stood her in front of a wall and pointed a baseball throwing machine at her. "We'll start easy," Luxuria announced. "First we'll have the ball be thrown at ten miles per hour. Dodge the ball, or swat it away. If you get hit with a ball, that's an hour on the treadmill, it will add with each ball that hits you. Understood?" Dominique nodded, spreading her legs apart and putting her fists up.
The first tennis ball shot out surprisingly fast. Dominique, however, seemed to instinctively jump to the side with ease, the ball bouncing against the wall, rolling away. Luxuria kept the speed on 10 for a little while until Dominique could dodge the ball without even facing the machine. Increasing the speed, Dominique had a few close calls, the ball almost hitting her in the leg. Luckily she managed to push herself away fast enough, or change the direction she was falling so that her leg or arm would miss the ball. Once again Luxuria kept the speed on 20 until Dominique had mastered the speed. 30mph rolled around, Dom easily managing that speed. However, once the machine changed to 40mph, Dominique had a tougher time. The balls came out lightning fast, multiple at a time. Dominique smacked most of them away, but missed the last ball, which pelted her dead in the chest.
Even though flexible, a tennis ball slamming into your sternum at 40 miles per hour did not feel nice. The air was knocked out of Dom's lungs, the perfect circle of pain burning. Dominique dropped to a knee, leaning away from a shooting ball as she struggled to keep her breaths even. Another wave of balls came pelting out, Dominique getting hit in the arm by two, which hurt just as bad as the first hit. Getting angry, Dominique's focus on dodging the balls started to slip away, more interested in punching each ball that she could reach. Noticing the improvement due to her temper, Luxuria quickly started to scribble around on her iPad, grinning at the observation.
Dominique kept punching and smacking balls away until the machine reached its limit at 60mph, where Dominique got hit with two more balls, both of them a bone (A rib and her nose), although the injury healed within seconds, Dominique ignoring the pain as she smacked and dodged. Luxuria seemed very happy with the progress her experiment was making, although she was counting on Dominique not getting hit by that many balls. "Five hours on the treadmill, we'll have someone come in to escort you when you're done," Luxuria said, pulling out the wired stickers she always stuck on Dom when she was running. Knowing the drill, Dominique removed her shirt, slipped on the provided running shoes, and got on the treadmill, which was now programed to slowly increase all the way to 50mph, which it eventually stayed at. "Where are you going to go?" Dom asked, surprised that Luxuria was leaving. She usually stayed to monitor the experiment, even though it took multiple hours to complete. "I've collected all the data I need, but Lucius still wants your speed to be increased. You know the experiment well enough that I don't need to supervise any longer. I'm going to go and work on Robin and a few others while you run for five hours. Oh, and don't forget to drink an entire bottle of water before you start." With that Luxuria turned and walked out of the room.
For the next five hours Dominique ran, breathing and sweating heavily, but not shaking with exhaustion like she use to. When the five hours were up, Henry came to escort Dom back to her room. Dominique ignored him completely, pulling off the wired stickers herself and putting her shirt on, acting like he was just some random guard. Ever sense she yelled at him for being a self-centered jerk, they refused to talk to each other. Today was no different, at first, but just as Dominique started to go into her own little world, Henry spoke. "You know we're practically drowning your little boyfriend." Dom raised an eyebrow, both at the sudden conversation, and at the 'little boyfriend' part. "Why are you telling me this?" Robin had already explained what Luxuria wanted to improve with him, so this news didn't come as a surprise. "He's not doing so well, he keeps passing out, I'm sure it's damaging his brain." Dominique's annoyance started to raise, Henry's lame comments getting on her nerves. "First off, you're full of shit. I know for a fact that Robin's been adapting just as well as I have. Second off, why are you suddenly interested in talking to me? I enjoyed our whole 'I ignore you, you ignore me' thing."
Henry looked defeated for a little, going quiet again. Dominique couldn't fathom why he was trying to make such lame comments to Dom, like she was some stupid chick. They got to her room, Henry stopping in front of the door. "We use to like each other, you know..." He glanced around the hallway, Dominique raising an eyebrow once again at his weird comment, a 'so what?' look on her face. "I wish things would go back to how they were. I'm sorry you were torchered, if that makes you feel any better." Dominique scoffed. "I wish I was home right now, sitting in my dorm reading cheesy Christmas cards from my family. That's not going to happen, though. I'm not even mad at you because I was torchered, I'm mad because you felt sorry for yourself, having to be the one standing there, giving the command to shock me. Why are you suddenly acting so weird?" Dominique took a step away from Henry.
"I miss you, Dom. I should have told you how I felt the day I met you." It was only just then that Dominique could smell the alcohol on him, noticing how he stumbled and had a hard time focusing on Dom specifically. "Why are you saying all of this now? What does it matter?" Dominique backed up to the wall, her body tense. "New years was the other day, did you know that?... I was watching the people kiss as the ball drop, and I couldn't help but think about how we kissed once..." Dominique couldn't help but laugh. "Henry, I kissed you so I could get out and save Robin. You seem to have forgotten that I knocked you out right after telling you I don't like you in that way..." Henry took a few steps forward, putting his hands on either side of Dom, the smell of alcohol burning her sensitive nose. "I think you're just playing hard to get." Henry smiled, but Dominique glared, her anger getting the best of her. She grabbed Henry by the shirt, and shoved him, hard. The guard slammed heavily into the wall, sliding down a foot as he tried to process what just happened. "I think you need to open my door before I kick your ass," Dominique yelled. Henry grumbled, but did as he was told, punching in the pin code. Dominique shoved passed him, turning and saying, "Next time you try and make a stupid move like that, I won't hesitate to knock your lights out, again." With that Dominique closed the door, angrily.

It had been a day since Dominique was whisked away before Robin was "nabbed" by the guards and taken to a room that had another chamber in it. At first look, Robin likened it to the inside of a submarine. He was told to get inside. The chamber was actually a bit spacious, more so even than the cell he shared with Dominique. There was a the normal furniture; cot, small table and chair. There was a laptop computer on the table along with a few more binder manuals. And in the back of the chamber was a weight set and a small room with a shower and toilet. A cabinet supplied Robin with towels and clean clothing, so Robin knew he would be here for some time.

Before he could turn to ask what this was all about, the door to the chamber was closed and sealed tight. Robin went to the door, but there were no handles or knobs to open it up from inside. There were no windows to the chamber, but Robin did noticed a couple cameras mounted behind a thick glasslike material in the walls.

Seeing how there was nothing much more to do, Robin spent the next few days lifting weights and browsing through the manuals. The laptop was set up for him to access videos which demonstrated hand-to-hand combat techniques. Robin did his best to practice some of the moves on the punching bags in the chamber.

Robin had no idea how long he had been in the chamber. There was no way to gauge the passing of time other than the meals that were sent into the chamber via a slot in the wall. The laptop had no clock or calendar function to it either as it was more or less just set up to play the training videos. Robin did notice changes though. He had gotten to the point where the amount of weights he could use to exercise with were no longer suitable to help his strength increase. He could tell he had become stronger than when he first entered.

As he sat reading a manual on his cot one day, the door to the chamber opened and in walked Dr. Luxuria wearing what appeared to be an oxygen mask connected to a small tank she was carrying. Robin sat up wondering what might have happened to her. Although he could not see it, Luxuria gave him a grin behind the mask and went to sit on the chair. Crossing her legs and leaning back she said, "How have you been, Robin? Have to been learning much through the manuals and the videos?" She then leaned close to him and ran her hand over his arms and chest. "I can tell you have gained more muscle mass and undoubtedly more strength then too."

Robin pulled back a bit from her touch, she just laughed a little. "What am I doing here? Why was I isolated? I did nothing wrong." Dr. Luxuria sat back in the chair, laughing a bit more, "Oh my dear Robin. We are not punishing you. You are being conditioned in much the same way we are conditioning dear Dominique. You see, you have been in this chamber for exactly one week now. The drinks we have been giving you have been laced with the same serum I was injecting you with and the results are quite impressive. And, you'll like this one, we have been slowing decreasing the amount of oxygen in this chamber during the week. Since last night, ahh, about twelve hours ago, you have been sitting in this chamber with about as much oxygen you would get as if you were sitting at the bottom of the ocean."

Robin just stared at her, "You must be joking. How could I still be alive if that were the case," he asked. Luxuria just giggled. "Well, it is, my dear. It is truly amazing what your body and mind, along with the correct drugs at the correct dosages can do." She then stood up. "Come along, Robin. Juan will take you back to your cell. We will bring you back to the chamber from time to time and the pool to continue your conditioning and to help make it hold. Be careful though. We you go out, you may feel faint when the oxygen rich air goes into your lungs. You may feel a bit sick. This is also a reason we need to keep up with this training."

It was as Luxuria had said. When Robin stepped out of the chamber, he felt light headed. Juan grabbed his arm to help hold him up. After a minute or two, Robin felt a bit better and was able to make his way back to the cell. Going inside, it felt a bit like coming home, but he certainly would look forward to the day when he would be free of this place.

During the week Dominique was asking constant questions about where Robin had gone. At first no one answered, but eventually Luxuria accidently slipped that Robin was being kept somewhere else for the time being, to work on some more conditioning. While Robin was away, Dominique was also working on her own skills. Luxuria was content with Dom's new agility, so she moved on to something that was going to be much more painful; Fire immunity. When Dom walked into the lab, Luxuria had a tall candle sitting on the tray in front of her. "Good morning, Dominique! Come sit down. What we're going to do today, is have you hold your hand over this lit candle for as long as you can. You can remove your hand as much as you like, let it heal, and then put it back over the flame. Hopefully, by the end of this week, you'll be able to put any part of your body over that candle and you'll feel nothing."
Luxuria was smiling like a child who just showed her parents a very confusing drawing she made using crayons. Dominique said nothing, simply doing as she was told. Putting her hand over the candle, she almost instantly felt the burning sensation. Dom held her hand over the flame for less then five seconds before quickly pulling it away, the spot where the candle was red and painful, but as soon as it showed up, it faded away. Taking a deep breath, Dominique put her hand over the flame once again, deciding to move her hand around whenever the flame got too hot for one area. Luxuria smiled wide at this, jotting down the progress on her clip board. With the new method, Dominique could keep her hand up for much longer before she pulled it away, her entire palm red, the skin starting to boil up. It took a second before the pain and injury was completely gone, but once they were Dominique continued.
By the time the end of the week rolled around, Dominique was completely immune to fire. Originally, with her method of moving her hand around, Dom could keep it over the flame for about 20 seconds. Now, however, she could put her hand over the flames and only feel a comfortable warmth as the flame tickled her hand, or any part of her body for that matter. Dominique even pulled out a piece of hair, putting it over the flames, which did nothing to it. "The only thing not immune is your clothing, I'm quite impressed," Luxuria said on the final day of the conditioning, watching Dominique play around with the fire. Luxuria summoned Sam into the room, who took Dom back to her cell. Once again, it was empty, which Dominique was use to. However, not too long after Dominique got comfortable in her bed, reading the new manual, she heard the pin code be punched in, Robin following soon after. Before Robin even looked down to her, Dom leapt up and practically tackled him in what would be a bone crushing hug to anyone else. "Hey, you're back!" Dom said in glee, pulling out of the hug and looking up at Robin like an excited puppy. Dominique blurted the weeks progress, talking about how boring it was living with just herself, and no one to talk to.
After catching up completely, Dominique sat down on her bed, glancing at the manual she was reading. "We have a one on one fight coming up the day after tomorrow, a two day training break, and then a two on two fight." The past week was completely committed to conditioning that Dominique almost forgot what they were training and conditioning for. Dom frowned, looking upset for a moment before quickly drawing herself together again. "But we'll beat 'em, just to prove to everyone that we can get out of here." Dominique smiled to Robin, her mood quickly brightening.

Robin was happy to be back in the cell with Dominique. He would not tell her this, as he did not wish for her to freak out, but he was starting to have feelings for her. Not just the "she's my partner" feelings, something more, something deeper. He sat down at the table as they spoke about what had happened during their time away from each other, his eyes often drifting over Dom as she spoke as was not looking at him. His eyes would dart away when ever she turned to look at him.

When they were done catching up, Robin took up the manual left for him. He saw the schedule for the fight tomorrow and sighed a bit. He just wanted to be done with this. He wanted to be free again and get back to his life. But...his eyes went back to the lanky red head lying on her bed looking at the same manual. He also knew he would miss Dominique and right now it was her that held him here and not looking for some way to get out.

That night the two went to eat and then to the gym to do some light duo training. Dr. Luxuria was there to observe. Robin saw her whispering to the trainers from time to time and motioning at the pair with her hands as if giving the instructors insights on the abilities of the two and how they could best me used in tandem. When the training was over, the pair was taken back to their cell. Robin was starting to notice that only one guard was taking them now and that whoever it might be seemed to be dressed somewhat casually. It seemed that Robin and Dominique were starting to get a bit more trusted and thus getting a bit more freedom.

That night Robin laid awake on his bunk. He could hear the soft breathing of Dominique below him and could only grin. The sound was soothing to him in some odd way and soon he found himself resting comfortably. The next morning came way too soon. Robin felt himself being shaken and woke to find Dom shaking his arm to wake him. It would be only an hour from now when the fights would take place. Dominique was already in her gear for the fight, Robin's was lying on the table.

After he got dressed, it was not long and Juan was there to take the two down to the pit. Robin wondered what might be waiting for him once he got there, but his thoughts were mostly on Dominique. He didn't know what he would do should something happen to her. He was starting to feel a strong connection to her and to lose her would be a fate worse than death itself at this point. He wondered what was going through her head. Did she feel the same?

Juan directed the two to different locker rooms when they arrived at the pit. Robin gave Dom a soft smile as they departed from each other and a somewhat quiet "Good luck" escaped his lips. In the locker room, there were now video screens installed. They showed the pit and no doubt the fights that would take place therein. Robin sat down, all alone, when the screen lit up. He watched as Dominique was shown entering the pit. He watched to see who might enter with her.

The new gear that they had given Dominique was almost exactly like Sarah Connor's, with a dark tank top, black cargo pants, and heavy boots. Seeing as Terminator was one of Dominique's favorite movies, she couldn't help but grin through the nerves that buzzed in the pit of her stomach. As she walked into the dirt Pit, she could once again hear screaming coming from the crowd, the sound almost helping pump her up. Squinting through the usual bright lights, Dominique could see a woman not much older than her. "Dominique Barrel versus Jupiter Wendilo". The woman, Jupiter, looked tough. Her eyes were dark, a angry scowl on her face. As Dominique looked at her, she had a bit of a hard time making out her outline, as if the woman was there, but wasn't at the same time.
Before Dominique could contemplate what was going on, Jupiter showed her what she could do. With a flash of shadow the opposing opponent was gone, showing up right next to Dominique, as if she simply jumped there. Jupiter lashed out at the surprised Dominique, hitting her hard in the nose with her elbow. Dominique fell backwards, but was quick not to say in one place for too long, as Jupiter attempted to Shift onto her. Dominique felt the blood on her face slowly stop, the throbbing pain of a broken nose ebbing away as she tried to keep her distance with Jupiter.
The woman wouldn't hold still, flashing from one place to the next, each time taking a swing at Dom. Dominique was fast enough to dodge each attack, but her adaptive brain was going into over drive trying to predict where Jupiter would land next. After a few good hits, Dominique was on her back again, this time Jupiter Shifting on top of her too fast for her to roll away. Quickly the smaller woman started to throw punches, which Dominique easily blocked with her forearms. It became apparent that Jupiter was actually a failing experiment. They focused so much on her abilities that she lacked the proper strength and training to figure out how to get around Dom's defenses. Pity started to rise in Dominique's chest, knowing that this was the last fight Jupiter would get lucky and win.
"Hey, woah, wait!" Dominique called out from under her arms. The noise of Dom talking made Jupiter pause in her useless punching just long enough for the bottom woman to throw a bionic fist blindly. There was a grazing connection, Jupiter practically flying off of Dominique. Jumping up, Dominique switched rolls, this time pinning Jupiter down by her throat with her left hand, while her right started beating down on her opponent. It took Jupiter a few seconds before remembering her abilities, Shifting out from Dom's weight to a couple feet away, trying to recover. Dominique, not expecting this, yelped when her fist slammed into the hard dirt, multiple bones audibly cracking. Wincing at the already damaged hand, Dominique got up, stumbling backwards, away from Jupiter.
The two girls stared at each other, Dom's hand slowly healing from all the punches. "I was kinda hoping you'd just get overwhelmed by my constant movement," Jupiter called across the Pit, panting and smearing her bloody face. "I'm very adaptive," Dominique grinned, leaning against a wall. She wouldn't attack Jupiter until the girl got her breath back. "I see that. It's quite impressive." Dominique couldn't help but give a prideful, triumphant smile. "Which makes me very sad that I have to do this." Dominique didn't question the comment until Jupiter suddenly Shifted, but didn't come back for a extra second. Dominique was about to move from her spot she was standing in when Jupiter appeared again, right in front of her, something long in her hand. Dom opened her mouth to question what happened, but all the breath left her as she felt the long object, a small steel bar of some kind, penetrate straight into her sternum.
The familiar burning of pain rocketed all through out Dominique's body, blood flooding up her esophagus, pouring out of her mouth. Stupidly, Jupiter didn't back away to watch Dominique struggle, giving the redhead a chance to attack.
With a powerful hand, Dominique grabbed Jupiter by the throat, jerking her forward, sending the rod that stuck out of her into Jupiter. The two girls stood, face to face, Dominique snarling with bloody teeth as Jupiter stood there, shocked as her hands absentmindedly went to the side of Dom's face, tears pouring out of her eyes. Unlike Jupiter, Dominique knew the most effective way to stab someone was through the heart, which is exactly where Dom drove the bar into. Slowly Jupiter fell backwards, dragging Dominique along with her, both of them falling to the ground, the redhead on top.
Dom stayed on top of Jupiter for a few seconds, the crowd around her silent, waiting for her to either die, or find a way off of the bar. For a split second, Dominique was tempted to just let herself bleed out, unable to heal with the bar in her, but the flashes of Robin's face that ran through her head sent her body into over drive. Grabbing the blood covered bar in front of her, Dominique started to push herself off of it, groaning in pain at the slow process. It took a good two minutes before Dominique felt the end of the bar get pulled out of her chest, Dom falling onto her back next to the lifeless Jupiter. Dominique was panting hard as she felt the pain in her chest very slowly subside, only getting up and walking to the open doors when the pain was completely gone. Once again, the crowd was going wild and cheering Dominique's name as she walked away.

Robin shot to his feet as he watched the monitor in the locker room and saw the steel bar pierce through Dominique. He slowly walked closer to the screen to make sure he was seeing things clearly. His heart now in his throat, he watched as Dom pulled her opponent onto the bar with her and the two off them stood pierced together on the bar and then fell to the ground. "Get up damn you!" Robin yelled at the screen as if Dom could hear him through it. "Get up!"

He started to settle down as he watched Dom pull herself free from Jupiter and the pull the steel bar from her chest. A slight grin now crossed his face as he watched her stand and walk out of the pit as if nothing had happened. As he continued to watch, he heard the locker room door open behind him and turned to see a guard motioning for him to come out. "Your turn, cowboy," the guard said. Robin slowly made his way out of the locker room and into the pit.

Robin was introduced as he entered the pit and then watched as his opponent entered, the only name given was Scorpion. Robin soon found out why. The man was about Robin's size, perhaps a bit slighter of build. But, coming form his back was a large scorpion tail, stinger and all. It was but a moment before the man closed the gap between him and Robin and was striking out at him with the stinger. Robin narrowly dodged the thrusts of the tail at him, realizing this guy meant to put Robin away quickly.

A few more jabs of the tail were made at Robin before Robin was able to grab hold of the tail and once he did, he spun the arachnid around before letting him sail into a nearby wall with a thud. Robin took a step back, sizing up his opponent. The scorpion man slowly made his way back to his feet. He was dazed and a bit bloodied from his meeting with the wall. He turned to look for Robin, just catching view of a foot getting planted square in his chest.

The sound of cracking bones could be heard as the man's chest collapsed from the force of the kick. Again he flew into the wall behind and hit it with another sickening thud. His body slid down the wall until he stopped in a sitting, slumping position. Robin took a step closer, but as he did, the tail made on last jerk as the nerves of the dying man spasmed through his body. Robin was caught off guard and caught the tip of the tail in his side. A loud gasp of air escaped his lungs as he went to a knee.

Robin looked up into the eyes of Scorpion. They were now lifeless, but Robin could feel the searing heat of the poison flowing into his body from the tail. Robin reached to the tail and pulled it from his side. He rose to his feet with some effort and walked away from the dead opponent towards the now open doors of the pit. His head started to spin and his vision blurred. Robin could tell his side was already healed back up, but he could feel a struggle inside as the heal agents struggled against to poison trying to make its way to his heart.

As he walked through the doors, he heard them close behind him and then all went black as he fell to the floor of the corridor.

When he came back to, he found himself in the infirmary. His eyes noticed a tube in his arm coming from a bag on a rack. A glowing blue liquid was dripping into the tube and flowing into his arm. "Well, look who is back with us," the voice was that of Dr. Luxuria. She then stepped closer and her face came into view. "I should have let you die, you know. Being so careless to step next to a dying foe and not paying attention to his most deadly and most obvious weapon was quite careless of you."

Robin could hear the doctor tapping on her ipad as she stood next to the bed. "If it were not for the healing powers of your body, you would have dropped dead right next to your opponent. But, if you make such a mistake again, I will allow you to die." She tapped the tube with her pen. "This anti-venom saved you this time. I am hoping that your body will take to it and replicate it so that you will have your own natural antibodies to protect you against such venoms if you run into them again.

Robin just laid there as he was told he would need to allow the rest of the blue liquid to drip into him. Robin asked the doctor, "How's Dom doing?" Luxuira just shrugged as she continued to write. "I guess she is doing well. She has been doing well from her injuries. Healed right up. We sent her to a new room too. From here on out when you two do well, you get rewarded. You two now have a suite. Each your own bedroom and bath and then a common room between the two bedrooms where you can come together to discuss strategy and such. Once you are done here, Juan will take you to your new home."

Robin just nodded and closed his eyes as his head still throbbed a little from the after effects of the poison. As he drifted back off to sleep, Dom's face came into view. A slight smile crossed his face as he went to rest.

When Dominique was escorted out of the Pit, she was expecting to go back to the original room, so she started to turn down the hallway. Juan, who was escorting her, quickly stopped her and took her down a different hallway, up a floor. The room she was taken to, which had a pin code to open the door, was extremely lavish. There was a comfortable couch with a TV, although it only had a DVD player with a few selections, no cable. The rooms had queen size beds with thick comforters and at least five pillows. They even got more dress choices instead of the prison clothing. Although it was still plain t-shirts and cargo pants, Dominique felt much more comfortable in something that made it look like she was wearing a trash bag. Right away Dominique slipped on a well fitting t-shirt, her tank top having a hole and blood on it, while changing into some pajama shorts. Once she was at the maximum level of comfort, Dominique sat down and started to go through the movie choices. Most of them looked good, all of them action movies.
Dominique sat patiently on the couch, waiting for Robin to come into the room so they could celebrate with a movie together. However, after an hour had passed, Dominique started to get worried. Robin was either taking his time with his opponent, or something bad had happened. Getting restless, Dominique started to pace around the flat, messing with her shorts. Dom could hear the pin code being punched in, perking up like a dog and staring at the door when it opened. She visibly wilted when she saw that it wasn't Robin, but instead Henry. "Don't look so happy to see me," Henry frowned. "I thought you'd be Robin... He's not back yet, I'm getting worried." Henry looked visibly agitated, closing the door loudly. "You're boyfriend just ran into some complications. He was an idiot and got himself stung by his dead opponent. Luxuria is taking him now." Dominique felt herself visibly get red, and she wished she could say it was due to anger. "Don't call him that," Dom snapped.
"What? You're boyfriend?" Henry prodded, taking a step closer to Dominique. She also took a menacing step forward. "No, stupid," Dominique growled, her fists clenching, and her face continuing to heat up. "Oh, so you two are together?!" Henry was yelling now, looking like he was about to explode. Dom knew she should have denied it, but instead she stayed silent, glaring up at the infuriated guard. Her silence sent Henry over the edge. Before she knew what was going on, Henry had back handed her. Startled by the strike, Dominique reeled backwards, stumbling but not falling down completely. Henry moved fast, grabbing her hair and yanking her head back. Dominique yelled out in pain as Henry bit down on the nape of her neck, the skin breaking. Henry was attempting to pull of Dom's shorts, but the fighter stomped her bare foot down on Henry's boot. The guard growled in pain, shoving Dominique away. Blood stained his mouth as the deep bite mark healed on Dom's shoulder.
"Don't make this so hard!" Henry yelled, fishing something out of his pocket, both people infuriated and ready for the other to attack. Dominique went to strike first, but when she heard the 'click' she fell to the ground as the phantom pain shot through her body, all the air leaving her lungs. Before she could recover from the shock, Henry kicked her in the head, knocking her out for who knows how long. When she woke up, not only was she naked, but she was on her bed, Henry frantically trying to undo his belt to his tightening trousers. Fear rocketed through Dominique as she quickly tried to roll over and run, but Henry caught her by the shoulders, shoving her down onto the bed. He had managed to get his pants pulled down enough, and when Dominique tried to push him away Henry shocked her with his abilities, causing Dom to go ridged, every muscle in her body painfully tensing.
When Henry finally stopped, he was already inside her, pumping his hips and grunting with each thrust. Dominique screamed, her unwilling body painfully fighting. She managed to get her leg out from under Henry's weight, kneeing him hard in the side. Henry grunted, this time in pain as he rolled off of Dominique, holding his side. Dom shot off of the bed, managing to reach the closed door of the bedroom, but not realizing the door was locked. The pause was enough time for Henry to grab her by the hair, yanking her back and covering her mouth. Once again Dominique jolted as electricity sent her cells ablaze. Henry didn't even bother dragging Dom back to the bed, he just threw her against the dresser and started to take her from behind. Dominique didn't even realize she was crying until she saw the ugly sight in the mirror on the wall. Senses going into over drive Dominique managed to use her strength, shoving both her and Henry backwards. Henry fell to the ground, Dominique taking multiple steps towards the door before she heard the clicking of the dog clicker. The same thing as before happened, except this time Dominique was in fight or die mode, her body working hard to over ride the painful conditioning.
"You stupid bitch!" Henry yelled, clicking the clicker again as he stood. This time the sound didn't have as much effect on Dominique. She still struggled to breath, but the pain wasn't so intense that she was knocked to the floor. Dominique stumbled to the door, unlocking it right as Henry grabbed her around the middle. Dom let out a frustrated scream as she was thrown back into the bed, Henry on top of her in a flash. Henry kept clicking the clicker, adding to the already intense pain Dominique felt with each thrust of his hips. Eventually Dom's ability to fight dwindled, her body tiring. She started to pass out when she suddenly heard a door slam open, the sound of two men yelling, followed by the sound of a skull cracking against a counter of some sort. The pain in Dom's lower area had stopped quickly, and she slowly started to regain awareness of what was going on. As her vision came back to her, Dominique looked to see Juan covering her with a towel hastily, while Robin was slamming his fist as hard as possible into the pudding of Henry's already crushed skull.
Robin looked absolutely enraged, his eyes wide and his teeth bare as he started to practically dent the floor with each punch. "Robin, stop! He's dead!" Dominique called out. The sound of her voice seemed to snap Robin back into reality, his fist frozen mid-swing as he looked down at the dead man. Dominique was shaking as she gripped the towel close to her, watching as Robin slowly got off of Henry, still looking angry. Dominique curled into herself, feeling slick blood between her legs, the internal pain taking a while before it subsided. Dom kept crying, burying her face into her knees.

Robin looked at his fist. It was covered with the blood and gore from Henry's head. Taking a look behind him, he saw a stunned Juan looking at the scene inside the room and then turned back to see Dominique sitting on the room's floor huddle in a ball and trying to cover herself with a towel. Robin went to kneel by her and started to rub her back. Looking back up to Juan, Robin said,
"We are going to need a different room. I don't want Dominique in this place having to go through this in her mind every time she steps into here. And I will take the full punishment for what I have done. It was well worth it."

Juan just nodded and left the suite. Robin stood up and took a step away. In his head he wanted nothing more than to hold Dominique in his arms and give her any comfort he could, but he did not wish to push things especially with Dom in this fragile state. Walking over to Henry's lifeless body, he grabbed it by the collar of it's uniform and hauled the lifeless mass out to the outer room and dropped it by the door to the hallway. He then sat down on the couch and thought about what just happened and what his punishment for it would possibly be.

A little while later, Robin heard the sound of the shower coming from Dominique's room. He went over to close the room door to give her more privacy. Shortly after that, the door to the suite opened and Dr. Luxuria stepped in with Juan and Sam behind her. She stopped suddenly as she saw Henry's body lying by the door and then shook her head in disgust. She then turned to Juan and Sam, "Please dispose of this and then come back to help move the belongs of these two to their new suite. Give them the one at the end of the hallway. It was suppose to be for if they won their next match, but they can have it now." She looked over at Robin who was sitting with his head in his hands listening, "I have no doubt they will prevail and then we can start working with what we really wish for them."

The two guards took the body and left. After they did, the good doctor went over to Robin and took his chin in her hand, tilting his head up so he would look in her eyes. "Don't worry, handsome. You did only what I would hope you would have done. You protected your partner. Henry should have known that he was treading on thin ice by doing such a thing. He is lucky that Dominique didn't rip him apart. No doubt he knew how to get her under control by watching me." She then removed her hand and ruffled Robin's hair. She then heard the sound of the shower turning off and went to Dominique's room. "I better take a look at sweet Dominique and she how she is fairing after this unfortunate incident." Luxuria then pushed the door to the bedroom open and walked through, closing it enough so it was only open a crack behind her.

Robin still sat, finally feeling his rage inside starting to subside. He looked himself over and saw he was still a mess with Henry's blood over his hand and splattered on his clothing. He went to his own room and after undressing, stepped into the warmth of the water of his shower. He didn't know how long he stood there, but the water seemed to relieve his tension more. After stepping out and drying off, he dressed in a white t-shirt that was a bit snug on him and a pair of tan loose fitting pants.

When he went out of his room, he saw that Juan and Sam were now back and Dr. Luxuria and Dominique were standing in the bedroom yet as Luxuria was giving directions to the two men as far as what to move to the new suite. "It has a small kitchen too, so the both of you will no longer need to come to the dining hall to eat. We will keep you stocked with food and drink," Robin heard Dr. Luxuria tell Dominique. Robin walked out of his room, his eyes on Dominique, trying to gauge how she was doing.

For the first hour after the incident, Dominique couldn't look anyone in the eye. She had come out of the shower, visibly jumping when she opened the door to see Dr. Luxuria sitting on the bed, looking at the blood stained carpet. "I'm sorry you had to go through something no woman should ever have to deal with," Luxuria said, breaking the tense silence. Dominique tightened the towel she wore, frowning as she walked over to grab pants and a shirt. "I'm actually glad Robin and Juan came when they did, otherwise you would never be able to prove Henry took advantage of you. I'm so sorry I gave him the tools to use against you." Dom looked to see Luxuria was genuine in her apology, deep regret and sadness all over her face.
Adverting her eyes, Dominique simply shrugged, turning so she could slip on her underclothing without Luxuria seeing too much. "No one knew he would do such a thing, it's not your fault." Dominique kept her back turned as she pulled on her pants. "You know you can talk about this, you don't have to act like something horrible didn't just happen to you." The anger Dominique was keeping suppressed flared suddenly, the red head spinning around and taking an angry step towards Luxuria. "If I was to acknowledge the trauma that has happened to me, I wouldn't be as sane as I am now! You want me to talk about this to you like you're my therapist? Let's start then! Your boss is a psycho that made me kill my brother, and watch my father die! I've killed people without blinking an eye, you amputated my arm and put a on metal replacement, I've been injected with mystery liquid that makes me as strong as a bull, what part should we focus on first?!" Dom's voice was slowly raising, but she quickly stopped yelling when Luxuria stood. "Forget it! I was stupid to ask you to talk about it, I didn't mean for you to relive all your trauma." Dominique glared, but quickly relaxed. "I'm sorry for snapping..." Luxuria scoffed, shaking her head. "There's no reason to apologize for something you couldn't help."
The doctor went and opened the door, explaining the new living conditions they would be switching to. Dominique could feel Robin looking at her the entire time Luxuria was talking, the feeling warming her insides, almost rejuvenating her emotions. As the guards went to finish packing everything up, and Luxuria left, Dominique finally turned and looked to Robin. She gave him a little smile before trotting over to him, hugging him around the middle. Robin seemed surprised by the show of affection, but of course returned the hug, Dominique visibly relaxing completely. Dominique couldn't tell if Robin wanted to question her about what went down with Henry or not, but it seemed like an unspoken agreement that the two wouldn't acknowledge the mishap until Dominique was ready.
It didn't take long for Juan and Sam to pack up the flat, both of them giving Dom brotherly pats on the back as they passed by. With the help of Robin and Dominique, they carried all of the boxed clothing to the new apartment. The new home was much more luxurious, the living area much bigger, with a large sectional couch and a flat screen TV. The kitchen was a good size, big enough for a larger person like Robin to move around. The bedrooms were much bigger, king size beds and walk in closets, as well as their own bathrooms included. For a split second Dominique was actually glad something bad happened, so they got the upgraded room. She helped Juan unload her clothing, Sam helping Robin in his room, which was next to Dom's. Once done, Dominique fully explored the apartment. There were actual windows along the walls, but Dominique could tell the bright sunny day outside was animated, showing a city apartment with moving traffic.
Investigating the TV there was still no cable TV, but there was a very large selection of movies and TV show series. The kitchen was already stalked with enough dishes to last Robin and Dominique a few days without having to wash anything, and the fridge was stalked full of food, as well as a small pantry. Dominique turned to Robin, who was also exploring, grinning at him. "Major improvement," She giggled to him, going back to the movies to inspect them further. In the back of her mind, she still had the incident playing over and over, but the new apartment seemed to distract her enough to keep her from breaking down.
Sam and Juan left shortly after Robin and Dominique found a good movie, both of them sitting on the sectional couch. As the artificial sky in the windows started to get darker, Dominique felt the fatigue of that days events starting to get to her, her eyelids drooping slowly. Eventually she allowed herself to lay down, 'casually' putting her head in Robin's lap as she found a throw blanket on the back of the couch, pulling it over herself. Soon she fell asleep listening to the movie, ever so slightly feeling Robin's chest moving as he slowly breathed.

It wasn't too much later that Robin also fell asleep. That night he sleep the best he had slept since being at the institution, no doubt the close presence of Dominique was soothing to him and perhaps the knowledge that Henry was no longer a threat eased his mind too. When he awoke the next morning, at least he though it was morning from the sight of the lightening sky in the "video windows", he slowly made his way out from underneath Dominque. She had cuddled up against him more by this time and was lying in the fetal position sound asleep.

Going into the bathroom in his room, it was unlike anything he had seen. The shower was large. Large enough that he grinned as he thought you could have a small party in it. The shower head was on the ceiling and sprayed down as if in a rain shower and massaging water jets were in the wall to sprayed a massage of warm water against a weary body. He allowed the water to beat down on him and then lathered himself down with the spice scented soap.

When he finished he went back to his bedroom and picked out something to wear for the day. Luxuria had mentioned before she left the day before that she would allow them the day of from training and conditioning so Dom could recover a bit more. She would be in later to check in on them. Robin made his way to the kitchen and tried to work as quietly as he could so he would not wake up Dominique. He made a traditional bacon, eggs, and toast breakfast for the two. Orange juice was also available for the two to have and once the food was dished up and on the table, Robin went over to wake up Dominque.

He went to her slowly, not wishing to startle her. Sitting down next to her, he brushed some hair from her face and softly whispered her name to her ear to see if she could wake up. As she stirred a bit, Robin smiled. "Hey, sunshine, breakfast is ready. Are you hungry?"

Before Robin had woken up Dominique, she was having a very interesting dream. She was still in the apartment with Robin, except instead of the fake windows showing a projection, it was instead real. It was a whole different life, where Dominique kept her left arm, a simple golden wedding ring on her ring finger, the Brooklyn city beautiful outside. Robin was sitting at the kitchen counter, typing on a laptop and wearing work clothing. Dominique didn't know why, but she felt happy where she was, almost like she was content watching Robin type away on his computer. Absentmindedly she messed with the wedding band on her ring finger, vaguely knowing that Robin had the same exact one on his ring finger. Dominique watched the concentrating Robin for multiple minutes before he looked up, grinning to her as they caught one another's eye. Robin stood, walking over and softly whispering Dom's name. Dominique giggled, not finding the soft whisper out of place as Robin came over to her, kneeling down on the couch and slowly bending down. It felt natural when their lips met, and Robin brushed a stray hair from her face. When Robin pulled away, he whispered her name once again, as if afraid to raise his voice. The second whisper made Dom raise her eyebrow, studying Robin's face. Slowly her vision started to change, Robin still kneeling in front of her, but now she was on her side.
Dominique visibly jumped as her brain comprehended that she wasn't dreaming anymore. Quickly sitting up, Dom couldn't help but glance first down at her blank ring finger, then at the fake windows showing the early Brooklyn morning. She couldn't help but feel disappointed, the warm feeling in her chest quickly ebbing away. It took Dominique a few seconds before realizing that Robin had asked her something when she woke up. Turning to Robin, her face heating up slightly at the memory of the dream kiss, asked, "What?" Robin repeated his question about her hunger, bringing her attention now to the empty feeling in her stomach. She hadn't eaten for almost 24 hours, only having something to eat before the fight yesterday. "Starving, what do we have?" Dominique got up, trying to sound and act as natural as possible as she headed towards the kitchen, pausing when she saw the table already set with food.
Dom's face lit up seeing the home made breakfast, the warm feeling from the dream returning to her chest. "Oh wow! I can't remember the last time I ate a home made breakfast!" Sitting down, Dominique took a sip of orange juice first, groaning as the liquid hit her tongue. "My favorite drink," Dom grinned to Robin, who was sitting down and watching her with an amused face. It didn't take long for Dominique to dig into her food, enjoying the bacon most of all. Once Dominique was done, she was practically licking her plate, savoring the taste of the meal. It reminded her of the morning before she started college. Her mother made a big breakfast, consisting of all of Dominique's favorite breakfasts foods. She remembers her mom saying that the meal would be the last home made meal she'd have for a while, which was true. At college all the foods Dom ate were fast food, or made from the crappy dorm microwave that was provided.
Dominique snapped out of her thoughts when Robin had picked up the plate in front of her, going to the kitchen to wash it. Dominique quickly helped clear the table, shamelessly eating a few spare pieces of egg that didn't make it out of the pan. Once everything was clean, Dominique went to take a shower, knowing her hair was probably still a mess from sleeping. Just like Robin, Dominique found the bathroom shower extremely lavish, playing around with the massage jets for a few minutes before actually washing her hair and doing all the female things needed. As she showered, her mind wandered back to the dream she had, not sure what to feel about it.
It wasn't the first time she aimlessly thought about Robin. Hell, the thought of him saved her from just laying down and giving up during her most recent fight. It was only now that the memory stood out to her, trying to decide if she dreamed of him because he was her partner, or because there really was something happening between them. Robin was a very nice man, and has kept her sane the past weeks. He protects her, laughs with her, commiserates with her. They both have been through the same situations, and they're both stuck in the life they're now living. What if Dominique was starting to doubt her feelings of friendship only because her and Robin have been together for so long? Dom chewed on her lip, absentmindedly washing the already diminished soap from her hair. The weird thing was that the idea of her and Robin together didn't sound all that bad, which freaked Dominique out a little. She shouldn't be thinking of her partner in that way, but at the same time it was comforting to imagine her and Robin doing couple stuff. Not to mention she didn't mind the fact that Henry called Robin her boyfriend, even though she knew full well their relationship hadn't gone that far.
It took Dominique a while before she finally turned off the water, drying off and changing into her pants and shirt, her mind still vaguely on the topic of her feelings for Robin. Walking out of the hot bathroom and into the fresh air of her room, Dominique decided to slowly figure out how she felt towards her partner, and if she should pursue the developing crush or not.

The day was uneventful, just has it had been promised. The two would have a day off from any testing, training, etc. Just a day to relax and take in their new environment. Robin seemed to be content with just sitting around and watching some of what was on the taped television shows. However, he would catch himself staring at Dominique from time to time. He would just watch her as she moved, as she rested, as she cuddled with a pillow and blanket as she watched tv with him. He would quickly advert his gaze when he saw her start to look towards him.

He also caught her staring him down from time to time too. He wondered what was going through her head. Did she trust him? Did he trust her? Would he wake up one night to find her over top of him ready to smash his skull in with a well placed fist to his face? He was not sure. He did seem to find himself more and more attracted to Dominique though. Perhaps it was just that the two were working closer together to form this "team" Luxuria had been eluding to, or perhaps it was them now being caged up in a cell together. He was not sure, but he knew he had a hard time keeping thoughts of her out of his mind.

When the video windows indicated that night was upon them, along with heavy eyelids saying the same thing, Robin bid Dominique good night, ruffle her hair a bit as he went off to his bedroom. It did not take long for hi to get to sleep, but once there, it was a fitful sleep. Until the bang and the sound of Dominique screaming woke him.

Robin sat bolt upright in the bed, sweat beading down the side of his face and forehead. As he pulled the sheets off of him, the door to his bedroom burst from it's hinges and soon after two humanoid type beings entered the room. While the room was dark, there was a light coming from the commons room and Robin could tell that the "things" entering his room seemed to be robots or androids of some sort. While they looked like a human form, they certainly were not human. The two that entered the bedroom leveled guns at Robin and started to shoot.

Robin felt a few searing pains in his upper body and then the warm stream, of blood flowing from them. This would not last long as the wounds heal almost as quickly as they were made. Robin rolled out of the bed and to the floor before springing up and catching the android closest to him. A few moments later the machine was ripped to pieces and lying on the floor. The second android was moving in, raising its gun again as a third walked into the room behind it. Robin turned on the approaching machine and charged into it. His shoulder hit the android square in it's midsection and sent it reeling backward into the just entering machine. The three bodies all landed roughly on the floor of the bedroom and Robin started pounding on the one as the other moved to stand back up.

Sparks and smoke flowed from the android as Robin pummeled it. His fists were starting to swell and were bleeding as his hands were likely broken, but he did not stop until he felt the twinges of a sting hitting his head and chest as the third android shot at him now. Getting to his feet, Robin reached for and grabbed the gun. In one quick movement, the barrel was bent like a "U" and tossed out of the door of the bedroom. It was followed closely by the head of the android that had been using it, the rest of the body slumped over the top of the two other destroyed machines.

Robin looked around the room quickly to make sure he didn't miss anything that may have snuck in while he was busy. Soon his wounds and hands were repaired and he took a step out into the common area of the apartment/cell. He stopped cold in his tracks. There were three more android bodies lying on the floor in a mangled condition, no doubt Dominique's handiwork. But that was not what stopped Robin. Standing close to Dom's bedroom door was Dom surrounded by six more androids and holding onto Dominique with a needle at her neck was Lucius, a sinister grin on his face.

"Well, thank you for joining us Mr. Slater," Lucius said. "Dr. Luxuria informed me of your handling of Henry earlier today. Now we can't just allow the inmates to manhandle and kill the employees like that you know, so, there must be punishment for your actions. I decided since you took the life of Henry, I will take the life of Ms. Barrel in return since is was no doubt her who seduced poor Henry and then decided she was no longer interested once she had enough." Robin took a step forward at this and Lucius press the needle into Dom's neck. Robin saw her flinch as it entered her.

It was then Dr. Luxuria walking out of the bedroom that raised a hand to Robin and begged for him to stop. "Robin! Stop! He will do it! He will inject the poison if you get violent." Robin stopped and looked at Dominique. He saw her now visibly shaken. "Take me then. I was the one who killed that bastard! It is my life that should be taken, not Dom's!" Lucius just grinned a bit, twisting the needle some to taunt Robin and to add discomfort to Dominique. Robin felt himself tense up, but tried to remain under control. He knew he could not live with himself should Dominique die for his actions.

Dr. Luxuria walked up to Robin and took his arm in her hands. "Stay under control. This does not need to end poorly," she said to him, almost in a whisper. Her hands seemed to tighten a bit and pulse somewhat on his bicep. He felt sweat beading up on his brow, but tried his best to keep his emotions in check. Lucius grinned and slowly withdrew the needle from Dominique's neck. He then indicated to two of the androids to move on Robin and restrain his so he would be able to inject him with the poison.

Robin tore his arm from the grip of Luxuria now that Dom appeared to be safe. In a moment, he tore in the approaching androids, ripping them apart as if they were cheap toys made of paper. Lucius had no chance at this point. His neck was in the grasp of Robin's right hand and he could hear the bones of his right wrists snap like dry twigs as Robin grabbed it and the needle fell harmlessly to the floor of the room. Lucius face was turning purple and his eyes bulged some. Again Luxuira was there, and hand on Robin's back and a whisper to his ear, "Let it go Robin. Everything is safe now. Dominique is safe. Come back to us..."

"Come back Robin. Come back to us..." Robin slowly opened his eyes, they adjusted to the light to see Luxuria's cleavage situated before his eyes as he laid on his bed. She was removed probes from his forehead and then stood up. As Robin looked around, he saw Juan and Dominique standing in the room by his bed. Dom was covered up in a blanket, her face a bit red and it appeared she had been sweating a bit too. Robin then felt a pressure release from his arm. Luxuria was removing a blood pressure cuff from it. When she was done, she looked at the two smiling.

"You both performed very well in this little experiment. You were able to deal with a threat and you both were willing to sacrifice yourselves for the other. This is what we need to see in partners. I believe you both are far beyond my expectations. Lucius will be happy to hear of your progress." Dom now went to sit next to Robin on the bed, wrapping part of her blanket around his shoulders. Luxuria then brought them two pills each with a glass of water for each of them. "The blue one will repair cells and tissues and grow more muscle fiber. The little white one will knock you out for eight hours of the best sleep will ever have."

Robin and Dominique took the pills and then after pausing, they each took them. Luxuria smiled and turned to Juan, "Let go. Let them rest up and we will come and get them for a little exercise later today." Robin watched the two leave his bedroom and then heard the outer door open and close. Turning to Dom he whispered, "Will you stay here, sleep here. I will be a gentleman. I, I just don't wish to be alone right now after that and I want to be sure you are safe."

Dominique's dream was much like Robin's, from what she could tell. She woke up, being attacked by large men, whom she attacked before finding Robin in danger, a gun pointing at his head. She stood in the way, managing to take down the armed man right before she woke up to Luxuria softly brushing a hand against her cheek. As Robin and her took the pills, she silently accepted Robin's request for her to stay the night, curling up next to him, her head on his chest. It didn't take long for Dominique to fall asleep, sleeping a dreamless eight hours before waking up, the fake window in Robins room was covered with blinds, but sunlight shone into the room, dimly illuminating it. It took Dominique a few minutes before she fully understood what was around her. She lay on her side, Robin hugging her from behind as he softly breathed, apparently still asleep. The memories of the controlled dream replayed in Dom's mind. She shuttered a little, moving closer to Robin for comfort.
After a half hour Robin finally woke up, taking in a deep breath as he rolled onto his back, looking around the room with squinted eyes. Dominique sat up, running a hand through her hair as she mumbled her good mornings to Robin, both of them still trying to differentiate the experiment from reality. Robin stayed in bed as Dom got up, trotting into the kitchen to make some cereal for both of them, finding a not on the counter that said 'You have the morning to relax and get ready, then we're going back to some basic training for the day. xx ~L' Dominique huffed, tossing the note down as she grabbed two oranges, peeling them and taking everything back to Robin, who was now sitting up, holding his head in his hands. Dominique explained the note to Robin, who grunted as he chewed his breakfast.
The morning was quite, Robin and Dominique just laying around in bed, Dominique watching the light coming through the blinds getting brighter. "Out of all the things we've been put through," She mumbled, "For some reason last night has me really messed up..." The image of Robin, bloody from fighting, standing there as danger is pointed right at him kept flashing through Dom's eyes, causing her to blink hard and flinch. She was glad it was a controlled dream, but the realness of it made her worry that she might not get to Robin in time to save him.
There was a soft knock on Robin's door frame, Dominique turning around to see Juan standing just outside of the room, giving them a small smile. "You guys ready?" Dom quickly got up, hurrying to her room to change into something work out appropriate, settling with shorts and a tank top. Silently the three left the apartment, being escorted down to the weight room, which to Dominique's surprise was full of other people. "It's no longer one on one with Hans?" Dominique asked, not at all disappointed. "Nah, everyone here's been in the facility for some time. Now that you can be trusted, you can socialize again. That and there's nothing you really need to work on improving, this is just so you don't gain any unnecessary weight."
Dominique and Robin stuck close together, both of them watching out for each other. There were many mean looking people in the gym, and a lot of them were staring at Dominique's bionic arm, and Robin's size. For most of the day the two partners didn't have much trouble, and they in fact made a friend with another pair, two guys named Isaac and Eleven. Isaac had long canines, and sharp fingernails, as well as black hair growing along his spine. Dominique was sure there was a tail hidden in his pants, a awkward bulk was visibly twisting around one of his legs, the lump moving occasionally. Eleven had the ability to summon water, much like Juan the security guard, so his shaggy hair was constantly wet, slicked back to look like he was just out of the shower. The four of them started to work with each other, Eleven and Dominique even playfully sparing in a small boxing ring. Dominique won easily, able to block Eleven's slow attacks and get him into a head lock multiple times.
It was towards the end of the day that things started to get bad. Isaac and Robin were helping each other lift weights, Robin spotting Isaac. A large man, and a very mousy looking woman came up to Isaac and Robin, the man grunting something that made the other two frown. Dom and Eleven, who were both on treadmills, watched carefully as the large man, who was almost as big as Robin, pick up Isaac by the throat and lift him up. Robin instantly lurched after the unknown man, Dominique and Eleven jumping off of their machines to go and help, but the woman standing in back of the butch man let out some sort of scream, which made it feel like you were getting ice picks stabbed into your ears. Everyone in the gym stopped what they were doing, most everyone falling to the floor as they covered their ears.
Isaac struggled to free himself as Robin knelt on the floor, wincing as he covered his ears. Dominique quickly grabbed a twenty pound dumbbell off the floor, and chucked it as hard as she could at the mousy woman. The weight hit the woman square in the chest, the lady's wailing turning into a scream of pain as she was thrown backwards. Robin took the advantage, tackling the smaller man, who was still holding Isaac. The three men fell to the ground, Robin pumbling the other man as Isaac scrambled away, letting out a panther like yowl. Dominique ran to her partner, grabbing Robin by the shoulders and pulling him off of the unknown man, although she did give him a good kick in the ribs. Juan and a couple other guards hurried over, yelling at everyone to get on the ground. Juan went to the mousy woman, who was curled up on the floor, wheezing. The other guards hurried over to the womans partner, cuffing him and dragging him away. Juan picked up the small woman, glancing at Dominique as he walked out. Two more guards came in, instructing Isaac, Robin, Dominique, and Eleven to all follow them, escorting them out of the gym and back to their rooms. Isaac mumbled his thanks as him and Eleven split off with one guard, Dom and Robin silently following the other.
"Will we get punished for fighting?" Dominique asked finally. The guard shook his head, saying, "Normally you'd be put in solitary with no food or drink for multiple days, but you guys will be fighting in the Pit tomorrow, so there's no point. The other two didn't technically fight, so they won't be punished either." Dominique glanced to Robin, casually reaching up and wiping off a bit of blood from his face, which had splattered onto his cheek when he was attacking the man. As the guard was punching in the pin code to their room, he said before opening the door, "Congratulations, by the way. This is your guys' last fight before we use your abilities for actual good." The man smiled as Dominique gave him a weird look, about to question his comment, but the guard pushed the two into their room, closing the door before they could say anything. Dominique stood there for a moment, giving Robin a weird look. "What do you think he meant by that?"

Robin just shook his head and walked over to sit down on the couch. "I am not certain how anything good can come out of what has been happening here. We are turned into mutant freaks and then told to kill others if we wish to survive ourselves." Robin just sat quietly for a moment, then looked back up at Dominique, "Have you ever thought of just giving up when you are in the pit? Have you ever thought that death would be a welcomed thing?"

Robin didn't wait for an answer, he just shook his head again and then stood up to walk over to his room. Closing the door behind him, he undressed and then went into the shower to clean up. The warm water sent out in pulses felt good on his aching body. After washing up, he just stood under the stream of water and let his concerns wash away and go down the floor drain with the rest of the dirt and grime.

When he came out, he heard Dom's shower still going, so he went to the kitchen to start cooking some food for the two. He decided on spaghetti. After the food was ready, he placed it on plates and then looked up to see Dominique coming out of her room. He gave her a smile as she came to sit down at the table. The two spoke about the event at the gym today and then about what might happen tomorrow in the pit. Overall, they seemed confident about their chances and then started to think more about the thing the guard said about using their abilities for good.

"I wonder who's good he was speaking of. I have a bit of a hard time believing that a group that kidnaps people, makes them fight for their lives to stay alive, conducts cruel and unusual treatments on them could be involved with anything that is good for mankind. So, I wonder who's good?" They just sat that as they pondered the thought. Neither seemed to know what he might have meant and neither thought that they would ever really be allowed out of the "Institution" to do good for mankind when they could simply slip away and tell someone about what is happening here.

They worked together on some of the team techniques shown in the manuals thinking it might be good to know something more for the next days fight. After that, they sat down with a bowl of popcorn and watched a movie together. Sitting on the couch, Robin kept making his way a bit closer to his female roommate. By the time the movie ended, he had his arm around her shoulders and was holding her close. He was not sure if at any moment that bionic arm would not come back and shatter a few ribs, but he was willing to take the chance. Going back to his earlier thought, this was why he kept going and didn't simply allow himself to die. Dominique needed him to survive and he needed her. They were a team now and he would not abandon his teammate.

The last thing Dominique remembers before she fell asleep was listening to Robin's heart beat as they sat on the couch. When she woke up she was in her bed, and someone was shaking her foot. Slowly opening her eyes, Dominique looked over to see Luxuria grinning down at her, messing with her covered food. "Time for school, sweetheart!" Dr. Luxuria giggled. Dominique didn't smile, just sat up and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. "Today's a big day, isn't it?" Luxuria helped herself to Dominique's clothing, picking out an outfit for her. Dom raised an eyebrow, confused by the statement for a moment before remembering today was their last day in the Pit. "That guard that escorted us back said we'd be doing something good when we're finished with this. What is going to happen to us? Will we be split up?"
Luxuria laughed a bit, smiling and shaking her head. "Why would we go through all this trouble to pair you two up, then split you apart right after you're graduated? Lucius will explain everything if you win your fight, but until then my lips are sealed. Just know that you will be doing some good." Dominique opened her mouth to question her further, but Luxuria was dragging her out of bed, pulling off her shirt. Soon enough Dominique was shooing Luxuria away, yelling at her. Five minutes later Dominique was dressed once again in her Sara Connor outfit, a new non-bloody one. Robin and Juan were already in the living room, Robin looking a little anxious. It was their last fight, so they knew what they were doing, but the fear of losing was still heavy in the back of their minds. Wordlessly they were escorted out, Dominique so nervous that she had to grab onto Robin's hand to calm down, and keep herself from having a panic attack. Robin flashed her a smile, giving her hand a squeeze before letting it go as they walked into the locker room.
There were more pairs already waiting for their turn, watching the screen as two groups fought each other. Dominique and Robin sat quietly together, watching as the fight turned bloody and brutal. After two companions had been sent out and fought, it was finally their turn. The night before they had talked about working together a little bit more, watching each others backs as they fought their chosen opponent. Walking out into the pit, Dominique squinted, trying to get a look at their competition. 'Dominique and Robin versus Hanzo and Pharah' A Japanese man and a Egyptian woman stepped out into the pit, both of them looking tough but nervous, just like Robin and Dom. The two pairs stood in the ring, staring at each other silently. The woman, Pharah, was as 5'11", as tall as Dominique, while the man, Hanzo, was short and stocky.
It was Hanzo who struck first, giving a loud yell before throwing his fists into the ground like an angry gorilla. The dirt floor of the pit suddenly rose like a wave from the ocean. Not expecting the change in ground, both Robin and Dominique lost their balance, falling onto their backs. Dominique attempted to quickly roll and get close to Robin, but it felt like a intense wind was pushing her back, away from Robin. Regaining her sense of direction quickly, Dominique used the burst of wind to push herself up quickly, looking up to see Pharah floating in the air, her clothing billowing around her, like she was indoor sky diving.
The ground had stopped rolling, but within seconds sections of it were raising into the air, carrying Dominique and Robin up before suddenly dropping them. The change in terrain, as well as the addition of strong winds blowing them everywhere, Robin and Dominique had a hard time figuring a way out. "Throw me," Dominique yelled over the roar of the winds blowing at them. Robin didn't waist one second. He lurched forward, grabbing onto Dom's outstretched hand. Bringing Dom close to his chest, he managed to keep them together long enough for him to pick Dominique up and throw her like a father throwing a child into a pool, right at Pharah.
Dominique and the Egyptian collided together, both of them falling towards the ground. Although Pharah was well built, and was getting a few blows in, Dominique managed to hang on tight to Pharah with her legs, fighting the woman in mid air. Below Dominique could hear Robin fighting Hanzo, but she was spinning around so much she had no idea which way was up and down. Dominique was trying to knock the wind out of Pharah as she held both of them up in the air, but the other woman was blocking the attacks well. It took Dominique five minutes before she managed to figure out a combo attack that would catch Pharah of guard. She swung her fist, hitting Pharah in the side of the head, quickly shifting her weight so it seemed like she was about to go for her unprotected ribs, but actually going for a second swing at Pharah's head. The Egyptian woman, expecting a abdomen attack, didn't have her fists up fast enough to protect the second punch to her head, Dominique's bionic arm easily knocking Pharah silly. Both of the women fell, Dominique falling onto her back while Pharah landed a few feet away, groaning and holding her head.
Dominique went to roll over and start pounding on Pharah again, knowing that if she pinned the woman she had no chance, but suddenly a wave of dirt and rock hit her, knocking her ten feet away from Pharah. The force of the hit dazed Dominique, dirt getting inhaled as she gasped for the air that was knocked out of her. Coughing on the ground, Pharah managed to get the upper hand, getting up and hitting Dominique with a running kick to the ribs. Multiple broke from the kick as Dominique grunted, exaggerating her roll, hoping to get away from Pharah, but the Egyptian followed, still kicking. Hitting her back against the wall, all Dominique could do was protect most of her healing ribs with her arms. Pharah stomped on Dom's head before returning to her gut, stomping and kicking.
Finally getting tired for a moment, Pharah paused long enough for Dominique to jump forward, grabbing her opponents leg, knocking the other woman to the ground. Instead of going straight for the punches, Dom kept hold of the leg, grabbing hard onto it before twisting it, first dislocating her knee, then snapping it. The entire time Pharah was screaming in pain, trying to kick out at Dominique with her good leg, but Dom caught that one too. With a well aimed kick, Dominique dislocated Pharah's hip, then with another kick broke her femur. Dominique was expecting silent protection from Hanzo, this time able to get a running jump, scrambling up the wall as the wave of dirt hit Hanzo's partner instead of Dominique. Letting go of the wall, Dominique landed on top of Pharah, who was sputtering and brushing off dirt from her face. Dominique stomped her boot into the woman's head, Pharah's skull easily crushing beneath it. Dominique turned just in time to see Robin getting smothered by a pile of rocks and dirt, Hanzo grinning with his hands buried in the dirt a few feet away from the struggling Robin.
Dominique wasted no time in grabbing a stray rock, in chucking it with all her might at Hanzo. The rock smashed into the side of the mans face, breaking his concentration as he fell to the ground. The animated dirt that was surrounding Robin fell away, the larger man coughing and spitting a bit before quickly regaining his composure, jumping onto the still dazed Hanzo, finishing him off. Dominique simply watched silently, panting and rubbing her sore ribs, the pain slowly ebbing away. Once Hanzo was finished, and Robin was standing, the double doors opened, Lucius on the other side of them with a horribly large smile on his face.

Robin let out a long breath as he looked forward to see Lucius. He then held out a hand to Dominique for her to take. Once she did, the two walked to the doors and stopped in front of Lucius. Robin seem to think that something was out of sync, and then he placed it. Lucius was alone; no guards nearby to watch over him in case the inmates got rowdy. The thought ran through his mind as "wouldn't this be the right time to take out this man who had caused so much pain in their lives?"

Then Luxuria walked up behind Lucius and the thought passed from Robin's mind. As they neared the pair, Lucius gave Robin a pat on the back and Dominique a hug. It was like they were long lost friends finding each other again and this was some big happy reunion. Luxuria then came to Robin and put her arm in his and started to escort him down the corridor out of the pit as Lucius did the same with Dominique. They eventually end up in Lucius's office and Robin and Dom have a seat in the chairs across the desk from Lucius, Luxuria standing next to Lucius as he sat with a wide grin on his face.

"I knew it!" Lucius began, "I knew when you were both brought here that there was something special about you both and that someday it would be just like this, you two sitting here with me to hear what comes next." He slaps his hand on the desk to emphasize his pleasure and excitement as Robin and Dominique look on with "what are you talking about" looks on their faces. "Your inner beings, backgrounds, desire to survive and the wonderful work of Dr. Luxuria have turned the two of you into prime candidates for our 'Super Soldier' program. I know, I know, the name sounds tacky, but that is what both of you have become, and there are several other pairs that may soon join you."

Robin glanced at Dominque to see what her response to this might be. She was giving Lucius a look as if she might stand and punch him. He moved his hand to her's and gave it a squeeze hoping it would help her calm down a bit. It seemed to work, but he could tell she was still simmering inside. "What exactly do you mean? What is it you intend for us to do?" Robin asked.

Lucius smiled wider, almost making his face look unnatural. "I was getting to that, my boy. We are a undercover, very deep in the shadows, covert organization set up by the government, specifically a few, less than a handful, of high ranking officials there. Even the president has no idea we exist. See, we were tasked to create soldiers to do the jobs that even the elite forces could not do. And, being so covert, we were not allowed to use actual military types as it would only risk us being exposed to our nation's enemies." Lucius waited for some response from either of the two, but getting none, he continued on.

"We needed to take people from the streets. Kidnappings happen and people go missing daily. People may pay some attention to it, but in the end it is a one night news story and then the world moves on. We then had to find a way to weed out the weak, you know, survival of the fittest, and then find our best people to work with and mold into our soldiers." "You mean turn into freaks," Robin retorted.

"Look at it how you may, Robin," Luxuira now was talking, "But you and Dominique, along with several other teams, will be sent out into the world to do the jobs that others cannot. You will save countless lives with your work. While you may look at the pits as a slaughter pen, the amount of people that died there is minuscule to the numbers of citizens and soldiers dying daily at the hands of mad men and terrorists. The two of you will use your abilities to make the world a safer place for unwitting citizens. For every life lost here, thousands will be saved out there." Robin thought a bit and looked back to Dom, whom seemed to be in deep thought too.

"Well, enough chit chat for now. You both must be tired and I am sure would like to shower up and get into clean clothing. Dr. Luxuria will go back with you to your suite and tomorrow your new life will begin in earnest." Lucius stood as Luxuria walked to the door of the office and escorted the pair our and back to their suite. As she stood at the door she looked around the suite. "This will be your last night here. We have set up a place for you on the outside that you will both live at. You will report back here regularly for training and upgrades, but other than that, you will be able to move freely to accomplish the workj set before you." With that, Luxuria left and Robin just turned to Dom with a look as if asking, "Did I just hear that correctly?"
