1. Our Mission
Our mission in St. Vincent's Academy is to help boys and girls move towards success and to develop them into young men and women. We are a world-renowned school in New York City, New York boasting a high academic rating throughout the whole US. Most of our students here are foreign-exchange students that are thinking about moving to the US and attending here after their experience in a period of a year to two years. Don't be surprised as you'll see most of them throughout the whole campus. Our core values are listed below
Core Values
- Treat each other with respect, fairness and compassion, while valuing differences
- Hold each other to high standards and expectations
- Support Everyone to Achieve his or her personal best
- Respect and value improvement in one another
- Maintain maturity and professionalism including a strong work ethic and integrity
- Encourage the value of humor, play and laughter
2. Historical Background
Saint Vincent's Academy was founded as Newton Heath Academy in New York after the American Revolution. In the war of 1812, the Academy was bombarded by the British artillery stationed in New York. The school was almost destroyed but thanks to government funding, the school was completely rebuilt four years later. At the time, it was a simple brick schoolhouse and there were about four students enrolled during the 19th century. As the years passed, the school began to expand and by 1870, it was now two stories high and built to fit a capacity of 68 enrolled students. The school prospered with a 42% academic rate in the late 1890's to 1929. However, during the great depression, the enrollment rate dropped dramatically due to inflation and unemployment in students' families. It began to recover as soon as the Great Depression was over. In 1953, the school was renamed from Newton Heath Academy to Saint Vincent's Academy, renovation began in 1965 due to the increasing enrollment rate and the number of students entering. After the renovation, the academy was now a 6 story, plantation-style building with many facilities to accommodate the students. In the years that followed, the academy has received many awards for high academic ratings and athletic awards. In 1998, A Russian Billionaire named Roman Putin bought the school and supplied them with money because he knew there was going to be many students and not enough facilities for students. In 2006, Roman's prediction came true as another renovation was needed to increase the amount of facilities and to fulfill student desires and need. Renovation completed in 2011 and recently, the academy has been in many pop culture references and is now a world-renowned academy. The school mascot is the Saints and their colors are purple and black

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors
The setting changes from Courtyard to Tokyo, Japan
Koichi saw the buildings and looked at them with awe. He was formerly an foreign exchange student in the Netherlands for about a year. The year after, he decided to take his learning experience to France. Because of those learning experiences from being an exchange student in the Netherlands and France, he speaks Dutch and French with ease but he still needs to take the classes for the graduation requirement. Koichi knew some English but not much. The school had a lot of students from around the world. Koichi was a bit worried that he wouldn't make that much friends due to the language barrier between them but he did see a green-haired girl in the courtyard. Koichi came up to her and sat down next to her saying "You got in to the academy too?" Koichi said to her.

"My classes, I have, Quantum Physics, Music Production, U.S History, English 7-8, Advanced Turntablism, French, Dutch" Koichi added "Even though I have a lot of classes, Music Production, Advanced Turntablism and Dutch don't give a lot of homework when I heard from the teachers."
"Well, since its the 1st day of school, I guess we don't have much to do but talk for a half-hour" Koichi said to Manami
The setting changes from Tokyo, Japan to Hallways
"Sorry, Koichi-san. Bye bye." She says before grabbing her bags and answered the phone. "Moshimoshi." She says to the other person on the phone. Her smile faded when the other person started talking. She started speaking in Japanese to the other person. As she talked, she got an angry tone. She yelled somthing in Japanese to the phone, and hung up.
