"A black gate to nowhere, or is it everywhere? A grand question with no plausible answer. Where exactly do these voided rabbit holes go?"


It was only some months ago when the torrential rift in the cosmos appeared like a gash in the infinite blackness of deep space, just outside the Riogarde Galaxy. It was a new-found anomaly not only to the scientific community, but to the human race as well.

At first the rift was at a rather small scale, continuous, echoing a storm of blue and blackness. Thunder seemed to erupt from its inner reaches as it coiled like a cyclone into the abyss of space. As weeks wore on, it grew, by obscene measurements, in diameter. The cause was not obvious, and a solution was nonexistent. For now, as long as the rift stayed at bay, there was nothing to worry about.

In the next two months, the rift's true purpose was realized all too late: it served as a dimensional gateway for an ancient race of alien life to break through to this side of the galaxy. Their preemptive assault began on the colony planets of the Riogarde, laying waste to the planets and their inhabitants. Any surviving life spared from the marauders' vast technology were fated to die a slow death from contraction of a disease deemed "Phenophage".

The human colonists were forced to flee their territory. Many died in a fruitless attempt to fight back, being met with obliteration in its incarnate form. Striving to survive, the human colonists made way deeper into the reaches of space, hoping to avoid the malicious eye of the beings they called Terra.


Our story begins in the Casshern Vorshin Galaxy, the Last Frontier of human settlement, on the planet Veridian Prima. Sitting betwixt salvation and damnation, it's inhabitants are quite possibly the human race's last hope to avoid extermination.


Forward: On that note, I leave the rest to you. I entrust each person who signs up to help progress this story further. Now, I know anime is overdone around here, but I gave this roleplay an anime twist to add some "flavor" I suppose. That being said, if you are one of those roleplayers who thinks this is going to be a generic "Yayz, anime!!!! ^.^" roleplay (and you know who you are), you can turn tail and run away right now. I expect this roleplay to be treated with some dignity. I don't expect you to be perfect, but please make a character that is worthwhile and original. I want this roleplay to be exciting, and to succeed where so many of my other roleplays have failed.
