Heaven. it was achieved again and Nee felt overwhelmed by everything. First it was scary, first she was frightened because she was thinking of Semyon, thinknig of what he did to her, and it made her feel sick and disgusting and used and wrong, but then Shiro came, Shiro came and made it better, little by little. "Thank you." Nee's voice came out as a tiny little squeak, she was panting, heaven was amazing but it was also exhausting. Shiro was trying to do what was asked of her, to talk about feelings but she passed out pretty quickly. Nee herself felt as if she were about to drift off into sleep. "I feel... good... as long as we keep doing it, I should be okay..." The pup really loved her, didn't she? Narcia moved a little so that Shiro was covered and hugged by a blanket, wrapped up, and then curled herself under a blanket as well. Nothing was wrong with taking a little nap....

It was a party in the palace. Little Nee scampered through the halls, heading to the party. Everyone was going to be there! It was going to be super fun and exciting! It was her birthday, and Nee wanted to play with everyone! Charming music jungled in the background, and a little girl was excited to meet all of her friends! So she entered the main banquet hall, a bright smile lighting up her face. Decorations were everywhere, her friends were all waiting, and most importantly, her mama was there, waiting with her arms open. Nee let out a giggle and dashed forward, hopping into her mama's arms. "Mama! Nee loves you, mama!" Mama smiled, eyes twinkling, no ice to be seen. "Mama loves you too, Nee. Mama will always love you."

It was a party, and it was going to be hide and seek! Nee bounded around, holding duckie, because she wanted a fun hide and seek! Itward said that the birthday girl should be the one to look for everyone and search and then mama took Nee's hand with a sharp smile. "Then I'll bee her attendant! Together, we'll find everyone!" So all of the guests scattered while Nee was counting, Nee counted up to a very high number with mama's help, because Nee was always bad at number, she was, she wasn't good at things like this. Other kids called her slow, they called her unsociable, they said she was a weird kid for being slow, but mama always loved her and believed in her and encouraged her, so Nee was okay.

When Nee opened her eyes to go looking for Aine and Corren and everyone else, she noticed something weird. The decorations were all gone, the palace looked sad and old and dark and Duckie wasn't in her arms anymore, Duckie was just a tattered dead mess on the ground. A voice echoed through Nee's head. Duckie is dead, it said, in a cold and cruel voice. Duckie is dead, and nothing can change that. Nee cried, she tried to put Duckie back together but it didn't work, she didn't know how to make the fluff go back in and stay there. Her friend was gone, her friend delivered to her by some girl named Nui from far away, her friend delivered to her with mama's love.

Then there was someone crying. Someone was crying and it sounded familiar. Nee wandered through the shadowy empty dark halls, wondering where everyone was hiding. She had to follow the crying, and there she was, mama was there, huddled onto the floor, her dress billowing out in a sea of ruffles. Mama was crying, wasn't she? But when Nee tried to walk forward to comfort her, she couldn't, there was an invisible wall. Mama was crying and Nee cried because she wanted to help her, she wanted to fix her and make mama happy again.

"I wonder how long it's been since I last saw your face like that, Nee." A voice came out, but it wasn't really a voice, it wasn't in Nee's ears, but directly in her head. Mama's voice but Mama was crying, not talking. "I took away that angelic smile from you...." Nee banged on the invisible wall but she couldn't reach, she couldn't get through to mama at all. Mama was sad and Nee was sad because mama was crying all alone, with no one to save her. "I tried to raise you magnificently, to make you a wonderful and fair ruler, a strong and respected ruler, and I should have been more patient with you, Nee."

Mama's voice sounded so lonely, so sad, sounded like no one could hear her at all. "But you were slower than the other children, you more childish and you clung to silly things... but I knew, I realized that it was my fault. Your sister, Nui, she should have been there with you, to play with you, to help you grow." It was getting harder to see mama, because black lines were coming up, smokey black angry lines all over the invisible wall, blocking out mama, until all that was left was her crying. "But I didn't. And in desperation, Nee, I ended up turning your life into a mess." Where was mama? Why was mama crying?

But then the crying stopped, and instead was familiar maniacal laughter of Narina Seraphim, tyrant Queen of Ashia Palace. "In the end, I was nothing but an enemy to you." Nee cried and curled up on the floor, the laughing was scary, but more than that, the laughing was even sadder than the crying. "I'm sorry."

Nee opened her eyes and felt strange and sick. She didn't know why she felt sick, of course, but nothing could really change that. "Shiro..." Nee patted her lover's shoulder, and hoped she was having a good dream. Now, with that done, and now that she was refreshed, there were two things that needed doing. First, Nee had to get wedding books - full of different cultures and styles, and she spread them out on the bed, each with pictures and easy words so that Shiro would easily understand them. Then she got to work with one of the chip ports from the androids. She needed to modify it, upgrade it, she needed to make it so that Aya and Kora could live side by side. And so, with her tools in hand, Nee went back into her element, feeling comfortable and happy. And she completely forgot to put her clothes back on.

They were safe from the angry protesting crowds now, hiding like this, but Cress wasn't satisfied, was she? Of course, though, it was just like Cress to be like this. While most people saw angry violent people who only wanted to hurt, Cress didn't see that. Cress could look at a mob and instead of viewing them as enemies, she saw them as victims, she could see their pain, their aches, she could see their deep and sad mental scars that refused to fade. Cress was that kind of person, and that was one reason why Kora loved her to this extent that she'd cry and languish about it every night. It wasn't that she wasn't talking sense - but the fact was that it was still dangerous, wasn't it?

"I know what you're saying, Cress." Aya responded, because she knew it was her turn to speak. Heron's eyes narrowed, as if betrayed for a second, but Aya continued, taking one of Cress's hands into her own. "It's normal, especially for a princess, to want to talk the problems out. I would agree, if they weren't violent, if they weren't attacking. But imagine, what if you got hurt for trying to negotiate with them? You know how protective Queen Narcia is of you." A shiver went down the lamb's spine as the memories of Narcia's most cruelest moments rushed past. "She wouldn't go easy on the Tartarians. She would punish them all horrifically."

Knights had to protect the princess, after all, even from her own folly. "Next time, if they aren't being violent, we'll let you talk, alright?" Would that be enough of a compromise? They were back in the palace now, Gehenna's palace, but it was a sad, empty place, wasn't it? It was clear that there were no royals here anymore, the legacy of Tartaria was given up and given to Ashia for safe keeping now. The maid girl said she'd be joining them to Sisyphus, one of the outer cities, and brought them food - though Cress couldn't really eat much at all. so Ate bit into the lizardskin wrapping and found that it was yummier than she expected.

Once food was finished, Heron dashed off to get their bags, so Aya went to the wheelchair and took Cress to the ship. "Sisyphus is supposed to be pretty hot at this time of day. We have umbrellas for portable shade, right?" The sun was behind the Wall of Belphegor now, so unfortunately it wouldn't cast it's shadow over the city. "...I wish I could have been around... alive, for real." Her voice went pensive, Aya was thinking now. There was a lot to think about, after all. "If I was, maybe I could have prevented you and Aya from being... violated.... like that." It was a sensitive topic, and - Aya shook her head. "..Nevermind. Sorry. Thinking about what ifs is useless, after all." It was true. Aya, unlike the rest here, she didn't have a future. She couldn't achieve happiness or dreams or anything. That was what death was. She was going to have to give this body back to her sister sooner or later, wasn't she?

Cress looked over the horizon, she was looking down the balcony of the palace, wearing her bridesmaid dress. The remainder of Aya's chip was enclosed in her fist, the girl having asked Cress to give Kora her body back permanently. It was one of the most painful things that Cress had ever had to do, but she knew, for the good of Kora and the future, she had to do it. "I should have told her it was me," Cress's voice trembled. "But I couldn't bring myself to tell her." Cress held the chip over the balcony, scattering the pieces in the wind. She watched as Aya's remains were caught in the wind, fluttering gently with the breeze. Cress tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, it was getting long again. So much had happened in these last few months. Cress and Heron had evolved to Cress, Heron, and Kora. The three of them were together, with Heron teaching both of the younger girls that even with all that had happened, it was okay to love themselves.

"Princess Nui!" Wren threw open the door, "You've gotta come get your makeup and hair done, the wedding will be starting soon!" Cress nodded, "I'll be right there." She smiled. Cress glanced longingly at the horizon. She had been traveling a lot, going from nation to nation until finally, Cress was back home. She loved being back, she really did, but Cress felt a longing to explore. She had to stay here though, this was where Cress belonged. Ashia Palace was her home and it always would be. So Cress hiked up her dress, a powder blue that Nee had chosen for her bridesmaids to wear. Shiro had picked pink for her's and they became the two wedding colors. Blush pink and powder blue, they meshed well together. Cress had helped oversee the flower arrangements, she had helped picked out the bouquet too.

Cress went inside. Kora and Heron were there, Heron teasing Kora no doubt. "I'm here, it's my turn, right?" Instantly the stylists rushed around her, getting Cress ready. They curled and teased her hair, rubbed on different colored powder on her eyelids and cheeks. They painted her nails too, the instant dry polish so that Cress wouldn't smudge it. "There, you're ready." Cress smiled, going over to Kora and Heron. They were in Cress's room, which would have been a mess if not for the maids that came to clean everyday. "We've got a wedding to get to!" Cress said, tripping over her own feet. She wasn't used to high heels after all. Heron grabbed Cress by the waist, righting her. "Don't kill yourself on the way," Heron teased. Cress blushed, grabbing Kora's hand. "Come on, we can't be late."

They made it right on time. Heron and Kora went up, arms locked around each other. "Ready?" Cress asked, mentally preparing herself to give her little sister away. Cress walked Narcia up the isle to the alter, where their minister was waiting to officiate the ceremony. The knights were in full uniform, seated in the back rows. It was a garden wedding, a beautiful spring day for two beautiful girls that were so deeply in love. Everyone stood as they walked down the isle. Cress couldn't help but smile, Nee seemed to be glowing. Cress had never seen her cousin, her sister, look so happy. Cress remembered the first day Ellie had been introduced to her. Cress had protected her since, after Cress became weak from being in a coma, Nee had been the one to protect her. Ellie was her best friend, Nee was her best sister. Now Nee would use that love and affection to shower a little blonde pup.

❝Yes Mistress.❞

It was odd. Shiro's heart felt fluttery and nervous. As per earthen tradition, the pup wasn't allowed to see Nee on the day of the wedding. Nani and Wren had taken Shiro someplace special for the bachelor party. They went to a farm, so that Shiro could meet real, live animals, then they had gone out to lunch and the theater. The day had finished with a cruise around Ashia Palace on Lake Asphodel, a large white boat taking them all around the island while serving a fancy dinner. Shiro had so much fun and had fallen asleep on the pod ride back. It was the first time that Shiro had slept alone in a long time, she had gone to sleep in her room so as not to break tradition. After Shiro bathed, she put on the wedding dress that she had designed with the gown maker and almost instantly burst into tears. "It's so pretty," Shiro sniffled, hugging Ellis, the best dog, to her chest.

There was a special pink dress for Ellis, one that matched Nani and Wren's. The two girls were preparing somewhere else because Shiro's room wasn't so big. The pup did a twirl in the mirror, practically glowing. The stylists worked around her, making final adjustments on the dress. They had given the dress a bit of padding in the chest area and used makeup to accentuate her features, highlighting her bright blue eyes and button nose. "I can't believe I'm gonna be married, I'll be Nee's forever." Shiro looked at the engagement ring on her finger. Soon the pretty band of diamonds would be replaced by a gold band that would mean that Shiro was Nee's and Nee was her's. The stylist laughed as she did Shiro's hair. "Marriage is a lovely and crazy thing. Yes, this truly was crazy.

Shiro felt her heart flutter as she went downstairs. She stood behind closed doors, knowing that Nee had just set off down the isle before seeing her. Shiro felt nervous, knowing that she was wearing the special undergarments underneath her dress for she and Nee to achieve heaven for the first time as a married couple. Her heart wouldn't stop thumping in her chest. Wren went out with Ellis, Shiro staying out of the way so that Nee wouldn't see her yet. Nee probably looked great, she was always beautiful and confident in Shiro's eyes. Working past the trauma had made the two girls closer together and while Shiro was helping Nee through her PTSD, Nee was helping Shiro too. She repainted the memories of her scars, coloring them in loving hues that made Shiro blush just thinking about it.

"It's time," the usher, Otherus, informed her. Shiro nodded and smiled, "I'm ready." Nani took Shiro's arm, walking her down the isle. The people stood on their feet, watching Shiro, who was beaming, walk down the red carpet to the platform. Shiro had been practicing in her heels so as not to trip and it seemed it had all paid off. When Shiro's eyes caught site of Nee, her heart stopped in her chest. The girl she loved so much, the Queen that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, she was heart stopping, beautiful in every sense of the word. Shiro joined her up the alter, Wren settling in her place next to the other ladies in waiting. An exchange of vows, of rings. "Do you, Shiro, take Narcia Seraphim to be your lawfully wedded wife through sickness and in health?" Shiro smiled, giving a nod. "I do," the minister turned to Nee, her answer reflected. "I know pronounce you wife and wife, you may now kiss the bride." Shiro's heart fluttered again as she and Nee kissed in front of all of those people, now married, once and for all.

"We did it," Shiro whispered with tears in her eyes, her words meant only for the girl she loved. "We reached our happy ending."
