Don't ask me how, but I got appointed to my university's student council. Yeah. I didn't even run or anything, the president just barged into my classroom, picked me up like a heroine, and carried me away. But I learned something preeeeetty interesting, want to know what? Lean in closer... She's a fujoshi. °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

The cicadas were early this year. There they were, playing their continuous rhythmic hymn, a symphony establishing an equilibrium between vigor and ennui. Regardless of the climate or any events, they persevered and played in perpetual harmony.

A light tap to the shoulder brought the musing Ken Hotoshin back to the plane of reality. His eyes dilated and shifted their gaze from the scenery outside to the source of the pressure, a bespectacled woman with a tinge of agitation surfacing behind in the frames. The boy gave the student council president a dumbfounded look as to why she was irritated, until he realized that the cause was himself. Good. Welcome back to the world of the living, kouhai. I would flick you, but I don’t want to have your fanclub rioting in front of my house tomorrow morning.” Harumi Tsukino was a busy president, albeit a considerably laid-back one, one policy she religiously abided by was not to waste time. The public affairs officer wasn’t in the best of moods, considering he had just been yanked by the collar from a succulent and filling meal. ”Sorry, was dozing off there. I was planning on grabbing a cup of coffee during lunch. Oh, and the fanclub’s deployment speed exceeds expectations by far, they would most likely be in front of your home at least ten minutes after classes end.” Ken’s attempt to placate the president may have been a bit off target, but it got the point across.

Harumi decided to drop his lingering and motioned for them to continue on. An unknown destination, which only further widened the gap between himself and a meal. The faint rumbling of his stomach broke the silence which had formed, causing Harumi to flash a mocking smirk back at the deprive first year. She stopped a vending machine seemingly out of place in the open hallway. Although Ken didn’t dwell on its odd disposition as he caught the can in hand, broke the seal just as quickly, and gulped down the beverage inside. ”In case you’re wondering, we’re stopping by the arts department. Who knows, maybe you can model for a few cute artists…” A shiver ran down his spine, as if he knew what the continuation of that sentence already entailed. ”...and maybe they can draw in a super muscular guy caressing your cheek. Heh… heh…”

”Kaicho, you’re drooling.” Thankfully, Ken’s words managed to reach the girl who was just delving into a trance. She frivolously glanced down each way of the hall and wiped the drool with her sleeve, then gave him a thumbs up. ”Kaichoooo, you can’t blow off something like that so easily!” The president shrugged off her subordinate’s complaint and noted that they were almost at the turn for a few art classes, ”I’ll admit it, even I’m off my A-game today. Stayed up late reading Love Stage!! But I actually have to try to look presentable, unlike a certain somebody I know…” She stared daggers at the ambivalent boy, who in turned began to look around the hall for the receiver of his glare, then pointed to himself with a raised eyebrow and tilted head. ”It’s even worse that you aren’t aware of the gift bestowed upon you. I’d give anything to be able to watch anime until ungodly hours and wake up the next morning in prime condition.” The president bit her thumbnail between gritted teeth while she envied the first year, finally coming to a halt outside of a door.

”This section of the floor is divvied up to a portion of our arts courses. The board has also been stuffing mismatched studies together, so it’s not uncommon to find video editors working in the same space as artists. Although they are of contrasting majors, conflicts rarely break out over their arrangements. We’ll just stop by and see how things are going, maybe even have lunch with a few students and ask ‘em a few questions about their experience, who knows?” Harumi gave him a wry smile before bounding her way into the classroom, shattering the aforementioned serenity, but the students didn’t mind as the appearance of the renowned laid-back president was always a refreshing one. Yet the boy who quietly trickled in behind instantly sent more than a few heads on a spin. A concoction of giddy grins and stares of jealousy, a circle of girls instantly formed around Ken. A choir of Hotoshin-san~! resounded among the surrounding maidens, receiving a bashful smile under locks of white hair as a response. Ken could see Narumi glaring at him out of the corner of his eyes and already felt his imminent demise.

”Hey, let’s give the kid some breathing room. Fill out a few surveys and answer some questions, maybe I’ll forc- have him model for you all!” They instantly bit on and returned to their seats, prepared to fill out any requirement to receive their prize. Ken silently thanked Narumi before taking in the entire room. His gaze rested on a set of desktops arranged in the corner of the room, all of which were occupied by students absorbed in their work. While the president kept a majority of the classmates occupied, the public affairs officer paced his way over and glanced over the shoulders of the more reticent individuals. One of them, an older student sporting square spectacles similar to the president’s, was in the midst of editing an animation. ”Woaaaah, that’s cool! Wish I had such motor skills. What’cha working on?” The boy was already exhilarated at seeing anything animation-related, almost to the point where it was suspicious. He quickly regained his demeanor and cleared his throat, but waited for the person to respond.

Aika's eyes gleamed as she felt the rush of cold air hit her face after the automatic doors began to crack open. The store.. was so bright- like heaven. She felt her mouth begin to water, but she shook her head.. she must focus!

Grabbing a shopping basket, she suddenly was seen all over the store, transporting from this aisle to that aisle- it was almost inhuman! However, during her excitment, she didnt see the man eating his food (ryuuji) so she found her self tripping at the last minute to stop herself from trampling the unexpected worker.
"S-sorry." Aika smiled sheepishly, hoping he was okay.. or well not startled. "Are you okay?" While waiting for a response, her eyes began to scan his person for any marks or injuries, but it was during this time that she noticed something.. He was quite handsome.. However something about him seemed off (HIS PATHETIC AURA OF SHAME AND PATHETICNESS- cough) but she couldnt put her finger on it.. She leaned in..before realizing their noses were only centimeters apart- "A-ah!" She pulled back, looked away quickly, wondering how long she was staring and LEANING in for. What was she doing?! "U-Uh Again sorry for bothering you two." She rushed, before "transporting" off to get more food...

▬▬▬

"That will be... 2484 yen..." The clerk stated as he stared exasperatedly at the mountain of food in the basket. His eyes slowly fell towards the young girl afterwards, wondering how such a tiny body could consume such amounts. It was either amazing or worrisome... 'Maybe she is buying for friends..' He thought hopefully, 'She does look popular.'
Indeed, from the moment she stepped into the convenience store, he couldn't keep his eyes off her and not only due to her pretty looks or alluring aura, but he swears he saw her somewhere before... 'She's probably a regular..' The clerk crossed his arms, trying his best to remember, 'Maybe she's a friend of a friend..' His eyes brow twitched in irritation- he had no idea.

"Um Sir?" His eyes snapped open. "Are you okay?" The customer asked with genuine concern. The clerk was just standing there, and his expression went from shock to irritated all in a matter of seconds.. It was amusing, but she was worried that something was going on. "A-ah sorry, I was just.. thinking.."

She nodded slowly. "I see.. well!" A smile pulled at her lips, "here you go!" Putting down the exact amount of change, and all in the meanwhile, adding some more into the tip jar, she took her bags of food and excitingly walked off.

"Thank you, and C-Come again!" The man called out, watching her almost fly away- He smiled, musingly, 'How cute, she must be hungry.' The man chuckled to himself, before sighing, 'hm, its too bad I can't remember where I saw her from-' It was then that the girl paused, and began to wave a pleasant goodbye when it hit him.

"e-eh..! K-Koko!?"

▬▬▬

Aika blinked, as the doors closed behind her. "huh..?" She looked over her shoulder, "Did he just say something..?" There was a waiting silence, before she shrugged, "Guess not."

With that, she continued down the street, bags in hand, and stomach begging for food. 'Guess it cant be helped..' Digging through the products, she pulled out a nicely wrapped melon bread. Eagerly, she unwrapped the treat and immediatly started to take large bites- She flushed happily. The sudden flavor of sugar coated her mouth, making her shiver. "mm.." Aika hummed- her steps gaining a bit more hop.

It was her antics that caught peoples eye, but it was her looks that reeled them in. After all, the girl was quite beautiful- looking to be in her twenties, she adorned the simple outfit consisted of short jeans, a light black and peach striped tee, stylish white sandals, and a matching peach colored jacket tied around her slim waist. It was a simple style, but anything more would just drown her features of her wavy pink hair and bright golden eyes- how unique!

Surprisingly, Aika was completly unaware of the attention, mainly because her main focus now was food, but when she swallowed the last bite, she began to notice. The looks were mixed with admiration and confusion- how could someone as dainty as her, eat like that? Luckily, no one recognized her.. probably due to their shock...

She blushed embarrassingly, her secretly low esteem wavering. Quickly, she ran off towards the campus, hoping to get away, and to find someone familiar. She bit her lower lip, cursing her low amounts of confidence.. She was just too afraid to find out what peeople thought of her, which explains her duo persona on the webs. Aika couldnt imagine people looking at her the same if she revealed the fact that she was indeed Koro- the famous male utaite. She couldn't bear it if her fans and the people around her began to look at her differently. This fear eventually mixed with her self esteem in reality- her fan base, even a few of her friends expect, Koko- the cute female utaite who could be the heroine of any anime. She shook her head. 'I-Its okay, its fine'

But it wasnt ok! She couldnt drop these personas so easily.. not without fear of judgment, not without- "AIKA!" She stopped suddenly, her breath labored, and her eyes dilated. "Y-yes?" A few students ran towards her, "How are you Aika! Or should I say Koko~?" The female students giggled, staring at her with admiration- but they missed the tight expression on her face for it was quickly replaced with a cute smile. "Im.. great~ Just came back from the store." The students blinked at the size of the bag, "Oh wow! We didnt know.. you ate.. that much." She blinked. If it was her imagination, she couldnt tell, but she swore the admiration was replaced with disgust. (no worries it is her imagination) "A-ah, of course not, these are for my other friends! I bought a bit more just in case.." Her stomach began to hate her, "Would you like some?" She opened the bag, and she watched the food disappear one by one, leaving a few left. "Thanks Koko~! Youre so nice! Just like how you are on chunmi! So not fake like some people are" The fans nodded in agreement, before one spoke up, "Ah we have to go! We have a meeting! Bye!

And as fast as they appeared, they all left, leaving "Koko" behind. "well.. Im not really hungry anyways.." Slowly her bright smile dropped, turning into a small smile, while her stomach growled in protest.

Ignoring the call, she began to walk off, her steps now hopless. 'I definitely cant drop them..'

▬▬▬

Passing by the class rooms, she peered in to see a familiar face- Ken, the popular boy of their school.. and past (and maybe still) stalker of her life. Aika giggled remembering how she found out he was a major fan of her utaite work- it almost scared her off, but they were good friends now. If anything, he was the only one who knew her for her. So obviously, she saw him in a respectable light.

Looking around, she quietly stepped into the classroom wondering if he ate anything yet, 'He is always busy with student council, so maybe not..' Waving, she smiled, "Hey Ken" Aika lifted the now lighter bag of food, "Do you want some? I bought a bit too much and Im not really hungry anymore." She then saw that he was currently in conversation with someone (Haruki), she blinked feeling a bit rude for intruding like this, "Ah Im sorry If im interrupting anything.." Aikas word linger, before she smiled apologetically. "Maybe.. would you like some too?"

(AFTER FANBOYING OVER HARUKI'S ANIMATION SKILLS)

A girl with idiosyncratic pink locks paced her way over to the two, bearing the cure to Ken’s insatiable hunger. The boy silently stared at the basket full of nutritional goodness until his stomach let out a rumbled plea. ”...You truly are a goddess, Aika-chan.” He slowly delved into the oddly large pile of food and plucked out bagged melon bread. With the urge to fill his empty stomach taking over at a brisk rate, he quickly undid the seal and took a sizable bite out of the snack. The student returned the amicable smile and gulped, ”Oh, it’s alright, we were just talking about animation. Pretty nifty people we have here at this university! At least we’ll be able to eat most of this during math…” His voice trailed off at the sight of the amount of leftovers in the basket.

It was at that point did he realize that a few of the individuals who were once glued to their monitors now glared up at him with a tint of envy. ”What are they- oh… Ken… Aika-chan… Oh cra-” His train of thought was brutally derailed when he felt a fingertip run down his spine. Ken yelped in surprise, making quite the interesting expression, nearly dropping his lunch in the process. His glance back was met with a mischievous grin spread widely, ”Got that?” Harumi asked one of the students with a sketchbook on her lap and nodded in approval when she received a thumbs up. ”Well, Kouhai -oh don’t mind if I do- mission accomplished!” The president produced a lollipop from the life-giving basket, tore off the wrapping with ease and placed the sugary treat in her mouth. ”Oh, you got enough surveys?”

The president tilted her head at her subordinate, then took a few moments to wrack through her head before remembering their original purpose. ”Oh, yeah, got that done as well. That girl over there agreed to sketch a picture for her beloved seitokaicho. Now all she has to do is add in a seme embracing you from behind with that flustered expression, and we’ll be in business!

”Restrain yourself, kaicho!” Ken cried in denial as he reeled back into a defensive posture. Harumi suddenly wrapped her arm around his neck and pulled him over, ”Woah, Kouhai’s being offered a meal that doesn’t have messages like ‘I love you!’ or ‘Please go out with me!’ written all over it? That’s a first. Guess Kouhai’s been pretty busy, isn’t that right, Aika-chaaaaaaaan?” The hold around his neck only tightened as the president stretched out that last syllable.

She finally released the guy and allowed him to catch his breath and his lunch, meanwhile she made her way over to Aika, placing a hand on her shoulder, dropping her voice to a whisper. ”Glad Kouhai’s made some real friends. He may seem like the easygoing guy, but he doesn’t let a lot of people into that little heart of his. He’ll definitely get your back when you need it.” Harumi’s eyes met Aika’s, then glanced back at Ken, who was giving the president an accusative gaze. ”Hope you aren’t saying anything which would warrant the police, Kaicho.” Harumi stuck her tongue out and placed a fist against her head, ”Nope! Just told her where you keep your ecchi stash! Anyways, Seitokaicho’s gotta bounce, gonna give Fukukaicho an earful! See ya! Don’t be late to class!”

Ken gave a slight wave of farewell as the president departed with a cavalier skip. A sigh left his parsed lips, ”Only half way through the day and I’m tired. Jeeze. He perked up and looked at Haruki, who had just beared witness to that whole charade, "Oh, I apologize. Haruki Akiyama, meet Aika Mifune. We're all in the same math class." The boy recovered his kind demeanor and waved at the students indulging themselves in their artwork. More than a few parted themselves from their projects and return the bidding. ”Alright, we should get a move on. Always good to be punctual! Anyways, mathematics, yeah!” Clearly, math wasn’t something people could be motivate for, but that didn’t stop the ebullient Ken Hotoshin from trying. He pulled out his phone while taking another bite from the loaf and pecked in a couple of posts.

Dialogue and thoughts in #CC0000

"Watch it!"

Not all eyes, but quite a few of them, turned to the cyclist and the cart-pusher, a tableau of an accident avoided...at least, it would have been a tableau, had both parties been frozen. While the cyclist was frozen, staring in bewilderment, the other half of the near-accident trudged on, not even turning his head. And who could blame him—moving his head too quickly would have dislodged the fine headphones adorning his ears, the very reason there had almost been an accident in the first place.

"Jackass," Haruki muttered as the object of his disbelief and derision crossed the street, leaving it clear. He pushed his bike forward enough to get momentum, then started pedalling, driving onwards to East Tokyo U's arts faculty. He kept a close eye on the sidewalks all the way to the art building, but thankfully nobody was as dumb as the cart-pusher.

----

"Context Is Everything 2" had gone up last Saturday, so for once Haruki had only classwork to worry about. In that regard, he had a simple assignment, due Friday: "Create a five-second animation depicting _______ in a non-literal or abstract manner." As they say, easier said than done, and the in this case the difference between the two was vast. The blank space, in Haruki's case, was "love." How to depict love abstractly? Depicting it concretely was hard enough at times. What did it mean? Was it referring to a family? A kouhai's admiration? A childhood crush? New marriage? Old marriage?

Perhaps something to do with meeting, Haruki decided, and he started playing around with simple shapes and moving them. Within about an hour and a half, he had a general idea of what he wanted. Against a black background, two different-colored lights would approach, hesitate, then collide. Their collision would produce every shade in-between, filling the screen with colors. That was a bit like love: sudden and messy, but ultimately good for the world. Right?

Unfortunately, at that time a different class interfered, and Haruki had to put LoveAni.wmv on hold.

He went back to it over lunch. He hummed a little while he started work on the most crucial detail: glowing. Lights had to look like lights, after all. And it was so much more than just drawing the light radiating out in faintly-drawn lines against a color field. That would work for a static drawing, a moment in time, but this had to look fluid.

”Woaaaah, that’s cool! Wish I had such motor skills. What’cha working on?”

"Blgh," Haruki responded at first, hastily undoing the massive stray line he had accidentally put in. "It's for class," he said. " I have to depict love, abstractly." He regarded the animation briefly, then added, "Very abstractly."

Food? "Oh, no thanks, just ate."

"...You truly are a goddess, Aika-chan." Aika blinked in surprise before smiling sheepishly at the comment, "Its nothing, really, I would do anything for a good friend like yourself Ken-kun." She waved her hand in the air, an indication that she was embarrassed about her statement, so much so that she was totally ignorant of the envious glares being shot. But she did notice the sudden change of expression, "huh whats wro- e-eh!" She jumped with his sudden yelp, "Ken-Kun are you okay-" An unfamilar voice entered her hearing and she felt her body relax. 'Oh its the president.' Aika never got too close to her, but they were acquainted, mainly due to Ken's participation in the council, plus she was.. well rather interesting. ”Oh, yeah, got that done as well. That girl over there agreed to sketch a picture for her beloved seitokaicho. Now all she has to do is add in a seme embracing you from behind with that flustered expression, and we’ll be in business!" A bell like giggle escaped her, (causing many of the students to swoon without her notice)her point exactly. The president was charming, so Aika couldn't help but have a certain liking for her. Aika's series of thoughts continued till her name was called out... and in a rather concerning manner. ”Woah, Kouhai’s being offered a meal that doesn’t have messages like ‘I love you!’ or ‘Please go out with me!’ written all over it? That’s a first. Guess Kouhai’s been pretty busy, isn’t that right, Aika-chaaaaaaaan?" She blinked. Little lost for a moment, before nodding, a soft smile lacing her lips while a look of concern filled her eyes. "Yeah.. He's been working hard." Letting her words linger, she felt respect fill her very being until she was reeled into attention by a whisper.

”Glad Kouhai’s made some real friends. He may seem like the easygoing guy, but he doesn’t let a lot of people into that little heart of his. He’ll definitely get your back when you need it.” Her eyes widened a bit, but they hardened in understanding. She was right, Ken was someone anyone would be luck to be friends with, and she was indeed one of them. She would never admit it, but Aika would remind herself on how grateful she was everyday. It was when the memories of how they met began to arise, her eyes half lidded while reminiscing the fateful but odd meet. It made her giggle in nostalgia. 'Truely, fate has my back sometimes.' So deep in thought, she almost forgot where she was, but she eventually shook away her heartwarming memories.

"Oh, I apologize. Haruki Akiyama, meet Aika Mifune. We're all in the same math class." She slowly looked up at the man introduced as Haruki, before smiling- genuinly happy to meet him. "Nice to meet you Akiyama-San, hope to be good friends with you." With her eyes closed in a smile, she resisted the urge to come out as "Koko" persona- something she did with stranger, but this time she felt like Haruki could be different... 'Hopefully.'

”Alright, we should get a move on. Always good to be punctual! Anyways, mathematics, yeah!” Directing her attention towards the oh so optimistic Ken, she laughed, "Same old Ken-San, trying to make something as boring as math sound fun." she teased, before tagging along towards the door, "Luckily I have snacks." The heavy bag was evident of that. "Anyways, Akiyama-San, lets go together!" Aika added, emphasizing on Ken's sentence, showing that she agreed with their little party.

While the trio was taking a stroll at their leisure down the hallway, en route to math class when a sudden commotion caused them to stop in their tracks. An explosion that would give Michael Bay a wet dream permeated windows ahead. Ken stepped before them, staring down the black orb suspended in air which just flew through and ruptured all of the glass lining the hallway. ”This planet is under the protection of the United Magical Interstellar Nations, you are currently trespassing in our territory. Leave this quadrant at once!” The orb didn’t budge an inch, letting out a series of beeps and chimes. ”Alright… I see how it is… MAGICAL TRANSFORMATION, GO!” Ken held his arms out and began to spin himself around. The seemingly encrazed boy was gradually levitated into the air, surrounded by flashing lights and abstract designs of all sorts. His clothes began to glow, until the entire hall was enveloped in a bright flash. When the blinding light receded, there Ken was standing, in sailor uniform while brandishing a scythe twice his height and most likely ten times heavier than him. ”Are you still hellbent on remaining here?” The mahou (shoujo) shonen raised the scythe, ready to strike.

"‡¨°³✪✹ÏÅ"

”I don’t know what any of that meant, but I’m pretty sure a part of it was deriding my waifu. One does not simply dis a waifu. Go, magical strikes of a million!”

And then the world ended.

Just kidding...

Ken rubbed his nose, still feeling pinches of pain after tripping on his face not even moments after leaving the art room. ”Uwaaaaaaah, it hurts…” The boy griped as they continued their trek through a slew of buildings to reach their destination. If he could carry ibuprofen on his person like he did in highschool, he would take the chance in a heartbeat. But since the boy had already healed from that time, there was no excuse to grant him such a right. The three were relatively quiet, making small talk here and there, but for the most part, it was Ken leading their formation hoping not to be late. As they rounded a corner, their eyes set upon a lone student standing in the hallway, aimlessly looking around. He appeared to have a lanky and short stature, roughly the same height as Narumi, with ordinary black hair arranged in a lazy manner. Ken sighed, finally realizing who it was. ”What’s up, Kobayashi-san?” He called out to the boy, which seemed to retract him from the daze he was in, ”Oh, hello Hotoshin-san. I was hiding from Narumi-chan, but then I realized that thinking up of and finding a suitable spot took too much effort, so I just decided to stand here…” Ken raised an eyebrow and glanced around them, wondering why the vice president was on the stationary run from that gorilla of a woman. ”So… Why’re you hiding from her?” The boy asked, still trying to get to the bottom of this. ”She wants me to look for dating spots.”

”Oh that doesn’t sound too ba-”

”In one of her otome games. Sunny☼Sky, was it? She wants me to decide which CG would be the best place to have a date, and that entails playing through all of the routes…” The two stared at each other in utter silence, knowing the pain included in the president’s request. Ken placed a hand on his shoulder and gave the solemn expression a nod, Ganbatte, soldier. Fight on.” He saluted Kobayashi, who in response only let out a sniffle, since it took far too much effort to actually form tears. ”If I don’t come back… tell my girlfriend I love her. Oh wai-” Ken placed a hand against his mouth and called over the escapee’s shoulder, ”Kaicho, your boyfriend wanted me to tell you he loves you!” His voice echoed, the two waited in suspense, hoping there wasn’t a response.

”Yeah? Well tell him his ass is mine!” A very familiar voice responded by god-only-knows how many hallways away.

Ken shook his head, but out of a blue, a thought suddenly popped into his head. He smiled at his friend, giving the vice president hope once more, ”Don’t worry, I’ll cast a protect spell on you! One of the maids at a cafe I frequent taught me it!”

Kobayashi began to lethargically move his hand, as if to stop the ebullient otaku, ”Hotoshin-san don-” Ken pressed his pointer fingers and thumbs together in the shape of a heart and held it out at the student drowning in denial. ”Moe moe beam- chuuuu~ Kobayashi’s eyes were only full of emptiness, embodied by a blank expression, void of any hope or saving. He slowly turned around and began to walk off in the direction of Narumi’s voice, ”I accept my fate…”

The trio somehow made it to class on time. If the elevator had ascended any slower they may have been facing a few tardies, but regardless, they were in their seats, ready to learn how godawf- great math was! Since Ken had to keep up the image of an exemplary student, his posture was spot on, and an array of writing utensils and complementary equipment was already arranged on his desk. He gave a quick thumbs up to Haruki and Aika, proud of the fact that they arrived without a moment to spare. Along with those two, he also spotted an iconic arrangement of blue hair near his desk, followed by none other than the individual mentally labeled by Ken as a thief.

Izanagi rubbed his eyes as he looked for his seat. Were there really that many people taking this math class? He supposed it was only natural since it was an introductory course that many would be flocking to get ride of it their first semester but still! They could have chosen a more optimal time, one that Izanagi wasn't in. His only solace was that Ken was also in the class as a product of both coincidence and possible planning. The white-haired boy had a lot of luck in this regard and what would be luckier than getting the same class as his math major best friend? While the blue-haired man doubted that Ken would need help it was natural that one would want to study with someone that knew their shit.

Near his seat were several other people he'd seen earlier, namely the guy from Red 88 and the woman he presumed to be KoKo which intrigued him further.

I didn't know she went here, he thought with a raised eyebrow.

He'd only seen her a few times around Tokyo but had never actually talked to her since the circumstances were never right. And by that he meant that his online persona would just compel him to make fun of her. No one knew who NaMei was due to the fear (well hesitation) of having his face seen. Plus, he was sure that anyone who went to ETU and happened to be an online figure would ostracize him. People knew Izanagi Satonaka as Ken's best friend who was low key cute (by both men and women) and NaMei as the spitfire Chunmi user who cranked out videos to keep him from being nothing more than a hater (he couldn't stand people who just wrote mean comments for a living).

"Oi Ken-kun! Over here," he waved to his best friend.

Still, even with all the differences he still had one friend he could always count on to accept him.

Natsuki was a woman of procedure, and so despite having dated Shinji for quite a while she couldn’t get used to his acts of affection. It wasn’t unwarranted, but it made her flustered to the point where it almost maddened her. She needed to know everything, but to study human interaction was one of the few things that eluded her.

She knew how to act properly, and present herself in a way that would maximize a favorable outlook, but when it came to how others would react in a normal situation she hadn’t a clue. Expression of emotions had never been her forte, but it wasn’t as if she wouldn’t try. She tried her best, but sometimes that wasn’t enough.

Her inability to think like poet and writers had caused her to score a lower mark on the language part of the exam and thus reduced her to take third place. Natsuki wasn’t bitter about is - that was a lie - but her ego wasn’t big enough for it to deflate her completely.

“Shinji-kun is very dramatic,” she mused, “I often think you do the things you do to get a reaction from me.” Natsuki didn’t let him know that if what he said was correct he was doing a very good job at it, but nonetheless she tried to school her face into something more passive in an effort to save face.

However, she knew he knew he was succeeding, but the small pride she had instilled into her wouldn’t allow him to gain his victory that easily.

When they finished eating and threw their food away he looked toward her and reached out his hand for her to take. She did so and with her other arm she swung her bag around her shoulder and began to follow Shinji out the door and into the city before them.

◆ ◆

It didn’t surprise Natsuki to see a few familiar faces, but it did shock her to know that the class was almost full. The students took seats in an inconvenient way that prevented any two seats next to each other, and for that she could only smile sympathetically at Shinji.

Why they were taking a normal math class instead of advanced version she wasn’t sure about, but the fact of the matter remained that they would be split up and possibly be partnered with someone who would ask help on simple equations and pressure them into giving them the answers on home work. Shinji she wasn’t so sure about the latter, but the former was a definite possibility.

“Isn’t this just our luck,” Natsuki sighed and squeezed his hand before letting go and finding herself a place to sit. While she would have preferred to sit next to Shinji the idea seemed impossible, and so with a silent calamity she found a seat in front of a boy with blue hair who shouted at another student named Ken.

She wondered if the Ken boy even heard his friend for he seemed to be staring at a man who looked oddly familiar. However, their affairs were none of her business and so silently she took out her cellphone and opened the Chunmi app to see if any of her favorite artists were updating their feed.

After refreshing the page twice she concluded no one was online online and decided to take the opportunity to scroll through some of the old tweets(?) that cluttered her feed, and noticed that LustyHearts had linked a new video called WRLD. And so with nothing else to do until the teacher arrived she plugged in her earbuds and tuned out the world - even if for two minutes.

"Alright. Classes have begun so please pay attention to front and center." Erina's announcement fell on deaf ears as the chatter in the room continued. Well of of course that was expected. What was she doing teaching these dumb kids basic math anyway? Most of them didn't even have the capacity to go any further than what she was going to teach in this class anyway. She was meant for much greater things than this! Just because she looked didn't mean she actually was young. So what if she lacked in life experiences namelylovecough? What they needed was her brain in this school anyway.

Politely clearing her throat once or twice still didn't work in catching their attention. Just great, she was stuck with people who knew how to use their mouths but not their ears and brains. "Jesus Christ, pay attention when your professor is in front of the class!" Finally the din died down and the entirety of the lecture hall looked towards the pink-haired professor who didn't look a day out of high school. Despite her small size, the seats were designed with a slope downwards so that everyone could see her properly. "I am Erina Aizawa, as you should all know by now. I wasn't able to come until recently due to personal matters. Other than the university-wide rules, I only have one: punctuality in attendance and work. That's all."

Rather than spend her time reciting the (ridiculously simple) syllabus to these idiots, she might as well make them do something more worthwhile for them in the long run: getting to know their classmates. She'd spotted a few worthwhile names while looking over the student list, might as well have them recognize who would help them in their time of need.

"Good! Now that I have your attention, please pass this around until everyone has a copy of the questionnaire." She handed several stacks of papers to the front most row. Once Erina saw that most of the students were holding a sheet in their hand, she continued. "First instruction: don't write your name on the sheet anywhere. Just answer these questions as honestly as possible. You have fifteen minutes. You may begin now."

Being frank, Ryuuji was paying little to no attention to his surroundings. He didn't even notice that the person who'd run him over at Red 88 was in the same class, or the fact he was sharing a class with his younger brother and girlfriend. He was busy tapping out a beat with his pen, trying to ingrain it into muscle memory before he forgot. sky*arrow may only have one true hit song, but he was often praised for his consistent and interesting drum work. "Might be a good idea to change the bridge to a roll instead of the first variation." The muttering was enough for the person beside him to look his way disdainfully, annoyed by his incessant tapping. It was enough for him to stop completely, burying his face in his arms while he slumped over his desk dejectedly.

The blonde remained in the same position even as the teacher swore and introduced herself. She's not exactly leaving a very good impression, but I guess that doesn't matter since she decides if we pass or not. It was just his luck that he wound up with a teacher who didn't think much of them. Or maybe that was a good thing so that she didn't have any expectations of him? Either way, he wasn't allowed to fail this class. He didn't even have a major yet!

There was a bit of chatter and noise as the questionnaire was distributed, students reading the questions and discussing what kind of person Erina Aikawa was.

A copy of the sheet finally reached his table, and he dutifully got to work. The questions started out normally enough, something you'd expect any class questionnaire to ask. Things got a bit weird by the fourth question though. A kid? What? Whatever. As long as I answer it should be fine, right?

The next few questions were more normal, altho he could feel himself flush when it came to the question about chunmi. Technically Darkness Disease had more notes, but it was more about spreading the the song than the actual tweet. It's not like they know I'm konbini-p so this should be fine. The blonde found himself answering 'Valentine's Day chocolates' to the question. All that was left was his name and he was done.

XXXXWhen it comes to relationships, the one Shinji have are that of certain plan and a result that he intended. Although, this is not much seen as a superficial matter in the way he acts about. Still, this is a definitive act of his. He was never the kind to be indecisive or to linger around the things he had taken interest of which are more of a professional manner than that of a personal attachments. It would be the same with how he treats Natsuki with gestures that would make most of the girls melt in romantic pleasure. However, she was not such a simpleton to do so and would even rebuff that he simply wanted an elaborate response from her. Well, there is a tendril of that. Regardless, his bond with her is rather convenient. There are no hassles when he is with her and that is probably why he is fine with her being his girlfriend.

"I believe it is normal for me to elicit a response from you. Would you not like to see the different expressions your beloved have?" He stated with such a casual tone, but with a degree of softness as well. In any case, he ended it at that. Soon, they arrived at Math class, the basic one. He does wonder why he had been given this subject when there should be an advanced one. But, there was no objections from him. He would just have to deal with it as he had always done for all things in his life. In any case, he reverted his attention to the class before him. It was nearly full with a variety of students from different majors. The only problem that he has at the moment is that there are no available two seats together.

"So, it is." He responded to Natsuki's words as she squeezed his hand for good measure. His eyes of red lingered on her form before he spoke again. "I will see you later then." He noted as he released her hand and focused now on where he could sit. There was no problem for him who he would have as a seatmate, although, he would have liked to be beside Natsuki. Yet, he would have to compensate for that. He soon found a vacant one, not minding who sat beside him as he was here for the class not to socialize. Just like so, he settled himself in his seat and took a moment to check some messages on his phone. There were some inquiries from his fellow medical students about other classes and even a few invites for some gatherings. He answered to them all in his always structured sentences. It was good timing that when he was done the teacher had finally started the class with a questionnaire.

Well, he had no objections to that and soon received his questionnaire and began to answer it as seriously as he could. When he was done, Shinji quietly waited for the next instruction. That was when he took a moment to glance at his seatmate and by the looks of it, the Goddess of Misfortune was having a ball with him. He quickly looked away and pinched the bridge of his nose. It seemed he did not notice in his own sense of apathy. His seatmate was the one person he would never want to meet in this university or as much as possible to completely revoked the blood they both shared. It was his good-for-nothing brother. He looked around to find if there was another seat available far from this accursed place.

Unfortunately, there was none available. Yes, it was as what Natsuki said earlier, just his luck.

Ken’s head turned on a swivel as his ears picked up a very familiar voice beckoning for him. A grin wider than the genre gap between Shingeki no Kyojin and Horimiya parted his lips at the sight of his close friend. ”What’s good, I-za-na-gi-kun~?” He replied with a playful chirp, ”How’s my comrade in the art of ramen eating fairing?” While he continued to fuel the embers of their conversation, he simultaneously flipped over to another page of his notebook and penned out a header, with his eyes locked on the cerulean haired friend the whole time. The ever so ebullient furball of a human was surprisingly diligent with his work and was armed to the teeth with a slew of perks that help him out in scholastics. Multi-tasking being one of them. It takes cunning, skill, and practice to be able to watch half of a series and concoct a thesis paper at the same time. Izanagi didn’t have a chance to react, as the teacher finally showed up.

From there, the day went from good to great. Now, there were a few thoughts which could have initially crossed his mind. Maybe a comment about the pigment of the teacher’s hair, or the stylish attire she chose today, or possibly the balled up fist she was about to sink into Dakimakura Thief’s face. But instead…

”Loli-sensei!” One of the many dreams he had established finally came true. He had the gnawing urge to jump out of his seat and parade about, but the boy restrained himself and smiled kindly at the loli-sense- professor. He recalled an upper-classman speak highly of how entrancing she was, granted, the guy was a lolicon, he cried when he had found out that he was assigned to a different professor for mathematics. XXX-san, I will live in this moment, for you. May your soul rest in peace.” Ken stared out the window and high into the sky, as if the afterimage of his senpai was up there over the horizon, smiling with a lone tear running down his cheek.

And then a sheet of paper wound up on his notebook. Ken squinted at its contents, and suddenly felt his heart drop. The first two question were a synch. Basic credentials to a questionnaire, nothing he hadn’t ran into in the past. Yet from there, internal strife spread throughout the first year’s mind. He answered the third one truthfully, after all, he was inspired from a manga he had recently gotten into, with the protagonist practically being his role model. The next one was the first, but by no means the last, high damage blow. ”Crap, my HP is dropping fast!” Only now did he realize that he was writing about an application where he cared for a moe heroine. Ken’s head dropped to the desk at his brashness and quickly cut off the sentence short.

”Forgive me, Ema-chan! Just know that Papa is doing this so he can care for you for another day…” What ensued was a series of slipups and self-reflections, the boy was nearly deceased by the end of the whole event. Did he seriously write that he wanted to conquer Akihabara? Ken hoped that Aizawa-sensei was the only person viewing these, otherwise a few queries would start popping up. His face was dug into his notebook and was blindly holding out the piece of paper, hoping somebody would bring it down to the professor for him. He wondered what Izanagi and Aika answered for this energy draining endeavor.

Dialogue and thoughts in #CC0000

Friends sounded nice. Haruki would admit he didn't have too many of those. Ken, sure, but besides that, not a lot. Most of his friends in high school had been in video club, and they went their separate ways, him all the way to Tokyo. He messaged them occasionally, but not frequently. And Toshiro didn't count; he was Haruki's brother. They kept in rough contact, though, enough that Haruki knew about his band and all. But new friends here would be nice.

Before much else could happen, though, his phone buzzed. He knew what that meant. Class, and maths at that, the dread of any sensible student. Okay, to be fair, he didn't hate maths that much, but the subject never grabbed him. Some things in geometry had given him some new animating ideas, but that was about it. He supposed it would be useful to learn how to manage one's finances, which would require maths, but they taught that in home economics. So what would this one teach? One way to find out: take the class. He quickly hit "save" on the animation, then followed Ken and Mifune on the trek to punctuality.

...

"Where are you going?"

"Punctuality!"

"..."

Now that's funny, he thought to himself. Maybe he could work that into something. Perhaps for Context 3? Later, he told himself. He'd only just finished Context 2; he could afford to take off for a while. He'd have to remember that, though. He filed it away, kept it on repeat in the back of his head until he could write it down.

Thankfully, they arrived in class on time. Haruki took a seat near Aika and Ken, and waited for the class to stop being idiots for more than two seconds. Finally, they settled down, and the teacher introduced herself and handed out a questionnaire.

"Topics of interest?" Haruki pondered. Does she mean in mathematics, or in general, he wondered. Finally he wrote "Creative things, mostly". Next.

"What specific concerns are..." "Nothing specifically.

"What information would..." It's an entry level class for the love of... He sighed, wrote "Mathematics information." That was reasonable.

"In what grade levels do you have children?" Is she serious? He left that one blank.

"Any habits/quirks..." "None." Some weird potential answers there...

"What's in your bag right now?" Who cares? He left it blank.

"Short term goals?" "Graduate."

"How do you feel about socializing with friends and strangers?" Why do you care? He left that blank too, glanced at the last one, and frowned.

Chunmi?! He left that blank, but silently wondered why a teacher would be asking about "famous" Chunmi posts.

"Weird," he muttered as he handed the questionnaire in, hoping he wasn't alone in thinking that.

"Did you see my post about Aika falling down?" he asked, pulling out his phone.

Using one hand he brushed the hair out of his eyes before touching the screen to bring up the tweet. To him the entire situation was rather hilarious but given how busy Ken's schedule was, he tended to miss out on moments like these. Hell, he missed his opportunity to even comment as the math professor entered their lecture hall right as the blue-haired boy set his phone down.

Talk about bad timing.

Erina Aizawa was her name and judging by Ken's expression, pulling off the attractive, anime goddess look was only one of her specialties. He'd already downloaded up her syllabus on his phone, but rather than pull it up, he gave her about five minutes of his attention. He had one question and one question only: whether or not they allowed cellphones in class. His professors varied on whether or not the devices were allowed in class and even to what extent they needed to attend class but the hard rule tended to be that sound stayed off unless you wanted everyone's eyes on you (he'd already been passive-aggressively called out during his religious studies class, he didn't want a repeat).

Upon hearing that all she cared about was attendance, he mentally moonwalked and tapped the Puzzle and Dragons application. He didn't care much about attendance. He wasn't wasting much of his time here and he could always do another class's homework or goof off here and since Ken was in it, he had no reason to skip. He just needed to do his gold dragons today.

He pulled out a pen to fill out the questionnaire passed to him and automatically wrote his name on the bottom while his left hand moved the little orbs on his screen. The first questions, he didn't think about because they were so obvious. He was a math major who took the class in order to learn to do math. Granted, it was strange he took such a rudimentary class compared to the honors equivalent but since it wasn't required to do so, he saw no need. Besides, he would rather worry about generally nothing than integrals and matrices.

In which grades to do have children?

Okay that question gave him pause (but not enough to mess up his five combo). He glanced up at his professor, befuddled now about her actual age. Was she actually an adult playing young or did she have some secret past he didn't know about? He decided to skip the question and move to the next one which, again, gave him pause. Why did she care about his habits or quirks? This wasn't an acting class.

Whatever. He could just come up with something after smashing through his supers.

Fifty stamina later and Izanagi was ready to be witty!

He had no children in any grade level so he wouldn't bother with that question, but inside of his bag he had...another bag (he could thank Kakashi for that gem)! His quirks amounted to getting overshadowed by Ken, but that was through no fault of his own. The white-haired boy simply had that effect on people and if that meant one day being absolved of a crime he would take it!

Maybe he could skip class one day while Ken was busy drawing Aizawa-sensei's attention.

What's your most famous Chunmi post about?

Now that one was a doozy. Izanagi had no intention of connecting his online life with his real one, even if he could speak in vague answers like what most people would give out. At this point he turned his stare to Aika Mifune who, no doubt, had a litany of different posts to choose from. She didn't need to hide because she had the foresight of making herself beloved both online and offline so she didn't need to hide. She could write whatever she wanted.

He ran his fingers through his blue hair (no doubt earning a few looks from the freshman girls and boys) before answering with a question of his own. He made sure to double-check the rest of his words before sitting back with a few minutes to spare. It seemed like everything was in place, yet he couldn't help but feel as though something was off.

"Were we supposed to write our name on this?" he asked Ken, only to back off after seeing his best friend's drained status.

"Oh well. Worst case scenario I ask Ken to beg the professor for forgiveness.

As she settled herself down, she turned to find Ken acting particularly intimate with a certain student. She blinked, 'Girlfriend?' Grabbing her glasses (YES SHES A MEGANE), her vision became clear, and the "masculine" features became obvious. 'Ah..' She giggled sheepishly, 'Nevermind..' Though, she did have to admit... he was a beautiful man- long hair... fair skin.. (Aika drooledloljk) "Am I envious?" Aika joked in a whisper, before smiling musingly at Ken and his interactions. If she remembered clearly, he was Ken's best friend that always hanged around, but she was never formally introduced, so she merely waved while smiling warmly. It was then that the teacher came in, causing students to rush to their seats and grow silent.

Now Aika merely raised a brow at Aikawa, finding her appearance and personality conflicting, but if she thought about it, she could relate; Aika dismissed her demeanor. "First instruction: don't write your name on the sheet anywhere. Just answer these questions as honestly as possible. You have fifteen minutes. You may begin now." Taking the paper, and passing it back, she grabbed her mechanical pencil, while eyeing the questions with curiosity.
What topics are of interest to you? She quickly put down the obvious, "Singing, Music, Vocaloid" She paused, and quickly jotted down a few school related topics such as math, and science for good measure.
What specific concerns are of greatest priority to you? Tapping the pencil against the table, she was slow to reply. Her life as of now.. was hidden with concerns that she never came to think about, or rather she decided to avoid. So she wasn't sure how to put her problems onto paper.. "Showing my true self, finding the confidence to do what I want, being successful, and expanding my circle of real friends." Aika skimmed her answer, and scoffed musingly- no one could guess its her.. (with the exception of Ken?) What information would you like to receive during this meeting? "Math knowledge."
In which grade level(s) do you have children?
Habits / quirks we should know about? She stared at this one, and put, "N/A" not sure of any habits that she found notable.
What's in your bag right now? "Bread, Notebooks, pencils, cell phone."
Any short term goals? "I would like to make more friends, and come to know myself better. I would also like to do well with my academic classes."
Any dreams you have in mind? She was stumped on this one as well, because.. it was another conflicting topic. Aika never decided if she ever wanted to go professional, or stay in her little world of the internet... but to leave, she had to confess herself to the world- who she actually was and that was something she always feared to do.. so she simply put, "To come out."
How do you feel about socializing with friends ad strangers? 'ah this is easy.' "I do fine interacting with both." She decided to exclude the detail of her front to keep her answer short..
What's your most famous Chummi post about? She giggled, memories with old post rushing in causing a feeling of nostalgia. There was just so many, and since she was public, she had millions to choose from. Humming, she finally narrowed down to one, "When I thought I saw a ghost... and it went viral... but it was a misunderstanding in the end... haha.."
What's your name? 'hm?' Why was this question here? Unsure what to do, she left it blank, before flipping the paper over.
Finished.

Erina assigned one of the students up front to collect all the papers, a frown appearing on her face as she glanced at one of the questionnaires from afar. Are my instructions really that difficult to follow or are they just idiots? The pink-haired woman doubted that asking to not write their name was a herculean effort and so she went with the latter idea. Considering how they looked, she shouldn't be surprised.

Her student dutifully handed her a neat stack, and she thanked her with a nod of her head. She quickly shuffled them in her hand and then sent the papers back to the front row to be passed around once again, earning a few puzzled looks. "Today we'll simply be introducing ourselves. Based on the paper you received, guess who it is." Hopefully they had enough intelligence to do these simple instructions. She moved around the room, finally coming to a stop on the Ryuuji and Shinji's row. "Let's start with you, followed by the person to your left."

      Well, this was awkward.

When he took the time to study his surroundings, Ryuuji instantly regretted it. He was better off being oblivious to his brother's presence. Shinji likely wasn't seated there by choice. He couldn't imagine him choosing to sit beside someone who he blocked on all social media. A quick study of the room revealed that there were no spare seats to switch to, much to the musician's dismay.

"Uh, thanks." The blond gingerly took the pile of papers from his brother's hand, separating the topmost sheet for himself before giving it to the next person in line. This was awkward as fuck. He didn't know whether to acknowledge him or pretend they didn't know each other. Knowing Shinji, he'd probably prefer the latter but considering their last names, their relationship was bound to get out sooner or later.

There was nothing wrong with putting off the inevitable however.

Crimson eyes returned to the task at hand, deciding to cross that bridge when he got there. Right now he'd rather not earn the ire of Miss Aizawa so early in the semester. Skimming the contents, the answers reminded him quite a bit of his own brother. But while it had been some time since he'd last seen it, it definitely wasn't Shinji's handwriting.

Soon after the papers were redistributed, the professor came to his desk. Just his luck. They were starting with him. Already Ryuuji felt uncomfortable as everyone turned their gaze towards him. "Uh, the person I pulled seems to be a serious person?" It was a bit daunting to have to give your first impression of whoever it was on the paper. What if you were totally off-base? "They seem like they're responsible and smart... Smarter than me at least." That earned a few chuckles and an eye roll from his professor, but the musician was a bit too distracted to care. Ryuu's eyes darted around the room, quickly doing a process of elimination as he listed down traits.

"I'm guessing it's the girl up front with the light gray sweater?" Aizawa-sensei's bright blue eyes looked at him expectantly and he briefly broke into a cold sweat. Just what did he - oh. "I pulled questionnaire #2. Did I get it right?" The red-haired girl shook her head and he felt himself blanch. Well, with what little info he had he was bound to make a mistake. Now all he had to do was wait for whoever would raise their hand to claim authorship of the questionnaire he held in his hands.
