Roxanne Sato's Story

Mysterious Old Man:

"You enjoy that toy?...You can have it for 500 yen..." Comes a scruffy voice behind the girl in his shop.

Miku looks up at the king in surprise, her cheeks stuffed with food. She swallows it with force, quickly wiping at her mouth. What was she doing?! She was acting like a pig! Where ever she was, Miku was in front of royalty, and she needed to act a lot nicer than she had been. Quickly leaning on one knee, she bows here head to both the queen and king. "F-forgive me...I'm not used to...royalty where I'm from...I'm Miku..." She mumbles, her wings out stretched. They looked almost beautiful, with the gray like scales and the skin thin fabric between them. The light shined through them just right to make them look almost like a ruby red; the veins popping out with ease.

Aihri quickly shakes her head. "Rise, young warrior. There is much to explain...I am Aihri and that is my husband, Dante." Says the queen as she points towards him. As she says so, Miku quickly stands to her feet, gazing at them both with curiousity and interest. "You see...That item you came to this world with...that is not the only one...The store you recieved that item from is filled with them...We cast the magic on those items so that humans like yourself could come here and help us..." Aihri explains, a frown suddenly forming across her lips. "You see...we have been in a long lasting war with the the Black Kingdom....We are growing tired and weak...We needed help...." Her bright blue eyes gaze up towards Miku, and she steps forward, placing both hands on her shoulders. The queen gazed into Miku's cat-like eyes with intensity. "There will be other humans coming....You must learn to fight with your powers. We need you to go out and find those other humans for us before the Black Kingdom can. If they get them, they will be used against us, and we will fall....Will you do this for us?...." The queen asks, her heart racing. This was the moment they had been waiting for! If they were able to get the humans to fight with them, they would have an unstoppable army against the Black Kingdom and could finally have peace amongst their land!

Miku, her mouth slightly agape, stared back into the queen's eyes in what seemed like shock. Was this real?...Was she really brought here to fight a war?....But her home...school...What about that? "Will I ever be able to return?.." Miku suddenly asks, worry clear on her face. The queen smiles softly, letting go of her shoulders. "Of course...your item can return you home whenever you like. All you must do is will it too...But I warn you...If you ever lose that item of yours, you will not be able to return home, or return here, if you lose it while on Earth...So be careful...now...Will you help us?..." The queen asks once again, hoping with all her heart the human would not refuse. They needed a human to help gather the other humans which came, so that the other ones would not be as startled. At least, she hoped they wouldn't be. If they had one of their own greet them, maybe it would be easier for them....

Miku thinks for a long moment, in silence, gazing around at all of the people. In fact, everyone was silent now. They had stopped their eating and cheering, waiting in anticipation for her answer. Maybe it was just a dream...or maybe it was real...Miku couldn't tell...but she surely couldn't just leave all of these people to suffer, could she? They needed her help...Miku nods stirnly... "Ok, I'll do it..." She mumbles. Everyone lets out a cheer and the queen smiles widely. "Good! Then you should probably at least begin your training....We must prepare you to fight before we send you out to do so..." Aihri's eyes gaze over towards Dante. "My husband is quite the fighter...I'm sure he can help teach you how to master your powers and I'm sure he would also love to spar with you as practice..."
