Charlotte Grace Kelly

Nicknames
Char, or Latte to Jack

Age
20

Gender
Female

Image
Appearance
Char is pretty small, standing at about 5'2, and surely underweight now from the large amount of exercise and lack of nutrition she's faced. He hair is dark chocolate and most often dries straight down, unless she puts it up in a bun when it is wet, in which case it's wavy. Her eyes are slightly lighter than her hair, and a bit more hazel, giving her more of a plain face then some others. On her cheekbones, there are bunches of freckles that make their way up onto her nose that fade in the winter, and return back in early summer. Her lips are probably her biggest and most noticeable feature, however in general, she's pretty plain. Char's body is not necessarily anything special, however she is rather toned.

Sexuality
Char has never really thought about it, though based on her past experiences she would be Heterosexual, but as of right now, she couldn't even imagine being interested in someone enough to pursue them.

Family
~Sean Kelly, her younger brother || Alive~

~Trish Kelly, her mother || Deceased~

Personality
Char has always been a bit strange; she's snarky and smug, and has a hell of an attitude when she's angry. But she's also one of the most loyal and caring people you could meet. She's a bit prickly on the outside, and most of the time, people don't like her very much when they first meet her. She's protective over her brother, especially now, and sometimes that comes across as unfriendly, and rude. More often than not, however, you can find her sweet spot by making her laugh, and once you start her talking, it's hard to get her to stop.

When Char talks, she doesn't show much emotion, and even when she laughs, it's a strange, short, almost smiling expression she makes. And even when she does show emotion, it tends to be more of a snarky smirk, than a smile or friendly hello.

Since she started this run from the undead, she's been keeping video diaries. Char brought a solar charged video camera and enough memory cards to last her years. She tries to make a video every night, or every other night, and so far, she has. It gives her a sense of hope. She tries to work out a little bit every day, to keep herself in shape and ready to run at anytime.

History
Charlotte and her brother, Sean, were born in Southwest Montana on a small cattle and horse ranch. It was co owned with her uncle and his family. Her father was a retired marine, as was her uncle and mother, and because of this, Char had known personal protection and fighting skills since she was old enough to walk. Shooting archery was a daily routine in her house, which at first started as a chore of sorts, but she quickly grew to love it. At her summer camp, she did archery every year as well, however she really got to practice at home. In her house, she had four different types of bows, with an assortment of arrows, a crossbow, and two compound bows, one for her, and one for her dad. Char also learned to use guns, although she wasn't nearly as interested in them as she was compound bows. Her other dedication was to gymnastics. She'd always had a lot of land, so she'd been able to have an in ground trampoline and this ended up letting her practice a lot as well.

In general, Char was not a goody goody. She tended to get good grades, and do well most of the time, but every once and a while, in her quiet town, she would g, which was strange, because he best friend, Hunter, used to be considered a huge pot head. But they met before that, and were best friends since being 12 years old. People often assumed they were dating, however the two had never been more that friends. Then again, they've never been in a situation like this.

When the outbreak first hit her, Charlotte's parents and relatives were away for the week, in New York. Char and Sean were staying alone. Sean was out back messing with the horses, and Hunter and Char were studying for midterms when her father called. he was frantic and stumbling, and they only spoke for a short amount of time, but basically, her father said grab as many weapons as you can carry and move fast with, grab the same amount of food, take and SUV and start driving. That was the end of his call but that was all she had to work with. So Char and Hunter grabbed duffles and backpacks, taking her fathers guns and having Sean fill the back of the car with some gas bottles and food. And they took off, and have been on the run since.

Sighing loudly, Charlotte turned and glared at Sean. "Look, I get it, you're hungry, and you want to keep on the move, but could you please stop snapping your hand against the wall? We can't go till we know it's safe." For the past two hours, the three had been camped in a small room, obviously abandoned, after a run in with a small, yet to big to fight horde. Currently, they were in the upstairs level of what seemed to be a one bedroom apartment, Char posed by the window, holding the sniper and looking through the scope, Luke folding and repacking their supplies, and Sean sitting in the corner pounding a beast against the wall. His reply to Charlotte's outburst was to look back at her, stop, and start tapping his foot.

Luke could sense the tension, and honestly, it was overwhelming. "Maybe we should leave," he said, turning to Char with a bit of a pleading, and not abrasive look. "I mean, you heard what that girl said. There's a shelter, with a bunch of people in it, and we could go there. We could go there and join up with them, and we wouldn't have to be alone and we don't always have to be on the look out." Giving her a cheeky grin, Luke put the last item in a backpack, zipping it up, and moved to sit next to her, lowering his breath. "You and I both know we can't go on like this forever," he mumbled, keeping eye contact with her.

Char had no chance of fighting back. It was two against one, and Luke was her best friend, and was usually right. "Fine," Char mumbled hotly, putting on an overly exaggerating pout, picking up her stuff, and giving the sniper to Sean. "Well lets go now." She spoke to him, being matched with a smug smile from him.

The three had met a woman a few days ago who had informed them of a group of survivors living together, and fighting to stay alive. In the moment, she'd told them she had to go, but marked the location on their map of where the shelter was, and told them they would be welcomed with open arms.

By the time they made it to the shelter, they were all tired, hungry, and drenched in sweat. It was a building, so it was obviously the shelter, but from the tree line, it seemed ridiculous that that many people lived there. It wasn't that big. "So... What do we do?" Luke said, breaking the tree lining and taking a few steps before looking back at them. Sean said nothing, though he rolled his eyes, and Char bit her lip in thought. "Why don't we knock?" Sean said sarcastically, smirking.

Without needing to look at each other, Luke and Char both made their way to the door, trying to go fast, both holding their weapon trained up incase they needed to defend themselves. Sean caught up to them by the time they got to the door.

Then, Char knocked.

Christy smirked at the dog as he licked her again, "He's cute, ranger does suit him." She said giving the dog a small smile. It was obviously a dumb animal but it had survived and unknowing it gave Christy the smallest amount of hope that they could survive.
That through was shattered by a knock on the door. Not walker, to dumb to know. Human, hostile or friends, undetermined.
Motioning to Ryker with her hand to get a gun and aim it at the door she got up to answer it.
She gently eased the door open, just enough for the people outside to be able to see her and for her to see them but not enough for them to be able to do any damage, she also angled her body so that Ryker would have a clear shot at the groups feet if the tried anything.
"Hello, How may I help you lot?" Christy said pleasantly, like the world wasn't infested with zombies,

Robin stood just behind Ryker, her pistol out. This place attracted people like moths to a flame. She peered over trying to get a good look at the strangers. Maybe they were just like her, needing help. Or maybe they were bad people.

Robin couldn't get a good look at the people, but she could tell it was at least three. The more the merrier she supposed.

After knocking, Charlotte gave a second of thought to what they looked like. They were all pretty dirty, her hair currently pulled back in a loose french braid, dirt caked on part of her forehead and on much of her pants and jacket. The same went for Sean and Luke. Luke's hair was damp with sweat, and there was more rips in his clothing than one could count on their fingers. And Sean, young Sean, had mud splattered along his exposed arms, and dried blood swiped on his face, probably from picking a scab, but they didn't know that.

If Charlotte was the people inside, she wouldn't let them in herself. "You've got blood on your face," she muttered, licking her finger and wiping the blood off Sean's face without thinking about it. With Char's back partially turned, the door opened. Hearing the voice, she turned around, an embarrassed smile falling across her face.

"Uh hi," Char said, able to see the gun pointed at them through the door. She lowered her pistol, signaling Luke and Sean to do the same. "We uh met someone who lives here a week or so ago... she suggested we come here..." Her voice cut off when she didn't know what else to say. Luke sensed this, and spoke up.

"We've been out running around since the outbreak, and helped to defend her from a horde," he began, his easy and soft smile falling on his face. "Is there any chance we could come in? It's kinda unsafe out here.." his voice lowered at the last part as a few zombies could be seen not too far away. "Please?" He muttered.

Christy gave all the people outside a once over, they weren't hostile but they were armed. "Mind telling me who this girl was that lived here? Just for confirmation and than you can come in, sorry but you can never be to safe nowadays."
Christy felt slightly bad for making these people wait outside while they got confirmation, it wasnt anything personal she just couldn't have a group of people who she didn't know just entering a house full of sleeping people, it just would be a good idea.

Christy obviously had this under control, so Robin sat back down to watch. She was asking them some question before letting them in, and it confused her slightly. They hadn't asked her anything. In fact, she was pulled in. She peered closely, wondering if these people where different.

Charlotte's face dropped at the girl's words. Why didn't we get her name, she thought to herself, feeling incredibly stupid. Why didn't I ask her, she thought, but she was at a loos for words. She turned to Luke, hope obvious in her eyes, but it was no use. They hadn't thought about it, and none of them had even mentioned it. It had been such a quick encounter. Char opened her mouth to say something, anything that could help, but before her voice got out she head a moan come from Sean.

Sean's hand was on his head, his eyes squished shut in what looked like an attempt to remove pain. A low, gutteral moan was coming from his throat, and he put his hand out to grab Luke's shoulder. "Char," he muttered, before basically falling down. Luckily, Luke caught him as he fell, confusion and freight written on his face, but he caught him, lifting him up against his body. Char's eyes were full of shock, but that was quickly replaced by fear. "Sean?" She whispered, taking his face in her hands. "Sean?" She said a little louder, smacking his face lightly.

From her seat Robin could hear a disgruntled moan. It sounded like someone was hurt. Pushing herself up Robin made her way to the door. She peaked over Christy's shoulder and saw a young teen writhing in pain. Her eyes widened and she pushed past Christy to get to them. 'What happened to him?' She asked Charlotte.

Christy watched as the girl struggled to think up a name, this was difficult. She wants to let them in, but they were a three man team, all armed and the only people awake right now were her, robin and Ryker. She couldn't risk those sleeping...
Suddenly one of the young men moaned in pain and the other two rushed around him calling his name. Immediately military training kicked in, opening the door just wide enough so that she could slip outside she grabbed the two teammates shoulders and have them a slight tug, making them both move back slightly.
"He needs air, now I need you to tell me honestly, has this man been bitten? If not than i need to know if this is happened before and what could of been the possible cause?" Christy asked the two, checking the young man, 'Sean's' pulse as she gave them orders over her shoulder.
Christy was cautiaus yes but not cruel.

While Christy spoke to the two standing strangers Robin knelt down by the man whose name was Sean. She patted his hand, hoping to make him feel better. 'Hey.' She whispered. 'I'm Robin.'

Char's face became pale as her brother's did, and she could tell he was fighting to stay conscious. Behind her, she heard the girl who's gun had been trained on them come out, but she didn't look. Luke, on the other hand, could see her. She seemed young, about Sean's age from the looks of her, but you could never tell now a days. The apocalypse seemed to age people funny. Either way, she looked fine from what he could see, but that was the trouble, he couldn't see much of either of them.

Char heard the girl as the question, but Luke responded for her, knowing she wouldn't waste time talking to the young girl; she was too scared. "He's nearly fainted," Luke said, smiling lightly while setting him on the ground, preparing to put his head in his lap when the other girl, the one who had been at the door, pulled him back slightly. Char and Luke both listened to the girls words, but Char's face had gone back to it's usual lack of emotion. Luke did crouch down, putting Sean's head and shoulders in his lap to cushion him as he watched the lady seemingly inspect him, asking them questions. Char sat next to him, staring in shock at Sean, on hand on Luke's wrist for comfort and the other on Sean's shoulder.

"No he didn't get bitten," Luke said, putting his hand into Char's to show her he was there. They weren't dating, and it wasn't like that, but having someone there for you when you panic is super helpful. Charlotte sighed. "He wasn't eating; he hasn't been eating. he got angry at me because I didn't think his plan was good enough to follow, so he went on a food strike." He words came out quickly, spastic almost, but they were completely monotone. Char took her hand from Sean's shoulder, reaching into her pocket and pulled out a protein bar and a canteen that was half full. She pushed them rather forcefully into the lady's hands, looking at her expectantly.

'Well that wasn't very smart, huh?' She said teasingly to Sean. 'Listen, bring him in, we'll take care if him, and get y'all all some food.' She stood and held the door open for them. 'By the way, I know he's Sean, but you two are.....?'

She grabbed the protein bar and carton of water, looking up when robin opened the door to the base completely to let the others in she nodded.
"Pick him up and take him inside, place him down on one of the tables and than I am going to need one of you two to feed him vai mouth as he is to weak to eat on his own, i know its gross and I will do it if neither of you wants to, but I think he would prefer if someone he knew was doing it instead of a random stranger." Christy said, she hated when someone had malnutrition, normally one would just be placed on a drip but this safe house wasnt a hospital ans she wasn't a doctor, she learned to do this during one of her missions when they were sent to rescue stranger survivers, one had collapsed of malnutrition and Christy had been forced to feed him, it hadn't been pleasent but it save his life.

Char nodded lightly as the woman spoke, her hand tightening in Luke's before she released it. She took the water and protein bar back from the girl, so she could soon feed them to Sean. Sean's eyes, which were nearly closed, then fluttered open at the sound of Robin's voice again. A small smile fit on his lips while she talked, and he shifted slightly to talk to her, his eyes opening completely.

Luke lifted him, turing to navigate through the door, and Char followed right behind. "Where should I put him?" Luke asked, but Sean pushed his hands into Lukes so he would let him down. On his feet, he was a bit unstable, and he leaned against the wall to compensate. Luke spotted around him incase he were to fall. Char opened the protein bar and handed it to him, leaning against the wall next to him and sighing. Sean started eating it, taking a sip or two after every few bites. Standing next to each other, Char and Sean looked very similar. Luke patted Sean's shoulder, then moved to the other side of Char, pulling her off the wall so they were next to Robin. The other girl had left, saying something that neither of them really picked up on.

"I'm Luke," he said, putting out his hand in greeting. "And this is Char."

Smiling, Robin took Luke's hand. 'I'm Robin., if you didn't hear before.' Her eyes flickered now to Sean and Char. Robin could tell they're siblings, but as for Luke she had no idea about their relationship.

She settled down in an armchair across from the group. After a moments of silence she shifted to look at Sean. 'Feeling better now? Or do you need anythind else?'

India wanted to stay in her dreamland for a lot longer, truly. She wished she could pull herself back into some more rest but at the sounds were so distracting. Every time she fell into slumber there was a small noise, a croak, a whisper, a cough that pulled her back out of it. She could faintly recall hearing a dog. Was it a dog? She wasn't sure. There was no dog when India went to sleep, so she wasn't exactly sure if it was her imagination or merely a dream. It was obvious though, she wasn't going to get a peaceful night's sleep. She was happy that she at least managed to rest her body and mind for a couple of hours. A clear mind was the most important thing to survive.

The haze of sleep was fading from India and she could now clearly hear people, she wondered for a second why they were still up and so talkative. She rolled over a blinked, the first thing she noticed was that the spot next to her was empty. Oh, so Christy is already up. Or maybe she is on watch duty?, she wondered. "Hmmm, what time is it.", she softly mumbled. The voices were getting clearer still, India couldn't place any of them but that wasn't so odd, since she only met them.

Since she was awake now, she might as check out what was going on. Not the zombie apocalypse, but curiosity would be her end, she knew. Her body was still stiff from her power nap. She rolled her shoulders, trying to loosen them a little. The pillows were heaven sent though, and she wasn't going to complain. She sat up on her makeshift bed. She had to drink something first, she was damn thirsty. She rummaged around in her backpack, there was one more soda bottle. She twisted the cap and took a big sip. The soda prickled her throat in a pleasant way, she had missed this. Putting the bottle back in her backpack, she stood up and walked towards the voices.

First thing she noticed was Robin, she was talking to some people. India didn't recognize them, but from Robin's smile she imagined they were friendly. And if not, well she always had her handgun on her. India walked towards the small group. There was a girl and two other guys. They looked like they were in bad shape, one of the guys was extremely pale and the other two seemed to hover over him.

"Hey, you guys new here?", India said, with a small smile.

'India' She opened her arms in welcome. 'Welcome back to the land of the living...' Oh, bad choice of words Robin. 'Anyway, this is Luke, Char and Sean.' She pointed to each person individually as she said their names. 'Sean here almost fainted so Christy and I brought then in.' Speaking of Christy, she wondered where she went off to. Robin remembered her saying something about 'heading out.'

India laughed a little at Robin's bad joke. She could appreciate some morbid humor even in this day. Robin introduced the small group to India. She gave them a smile and a small wave.

"Oh, are you okay now?", she asked to the guy Robin called Sean. "My name is India, I would say welcome but since I've only been here for a few hours I feel that might be a bit inappropriate.", India continued with a smile.

"How did you guys find this place?" It looked like this shelter attracted all kinds of people. She didn't know how she felt about that. She liked being with other people, India was a social person, but more people meant more risks.

"Speaking about Christy.. Do you know where she went?", she asked curiously.

Luke grinned after shaking the girls hand, watching her take a seat. Behind him, he could here Charlotte speaking in soft tones to Sean, but he wasn't replying. As usual. When the new girl walked in, the two quieted down, and both came to stand with Luke, Char's had on Sean to steady him. "Yeah he's fine," Char said, not hostile, but not in a way you should speak to strangers.

For fear of what she might say, under the heat of the moment, Luke stepped in. "We found a girl on patrol a week or so ago. She marked this on our map, and we decided it was time we stopped by." He smiled his natural toothy smile, the one that always made people comfortable because it was so natural. "She said she had something to do I believe," He finished, shrugging, then taking a seat on the couch across from Robin. Char followed.

Sean stood behind, leaning his arms on the couch, and watched. He observed both girls, but since they had already spent some time with Robin, he was more interested in India. She was certainly pretty, and from the looks of her she was in her early 20's. "So how are you all related?" Luke asked, friendly enough.
