After all, when one of your aunts is Michelle Rodriguez - an iconic Latina in the action film genre - you kinda can't expect nothing less. From the second she turned three, Sophia was put in commercial after commercial. Her mother, who was mostly raised in the Dominican Republic with Rodriguez's mother's mother, moved to the States when she was around seventeen and married almost immediately. Like with her aunt, Sophia's father Marcel was of Puerto Rican descent and the riff that had arisen years prior in Rodriguez's time only seemed to worsen. So, when Sophia's acting career took off and neither of her parents could stand one another, she was sent to live with her aunt.
From there, her career flourished. She was America's next up and coming actress. She started out in Disney like a lot of young celebrities. The difference is that she had someone with her who was learning the ropes as well and who was surprisingly patient.
