History

Alexander was raised in a spacer family, both of his parents serving in the Alliance Navy, both of them high ranking officers (Mother was a Commander of her own starship, and Father was in charge of defense of Alliance controlled space sector Gamma 56). Alexander originally wanted to be a civilian engineer, helping to construct buildings on colonized planets and such. His father had other plans for him. By the time he hit his Freshman year in high school, General Michaels (his father) transferred him to a military school that was one of many on a colony located in the Gamma 66 sector.
Although he did not enjoy his stay there, he made a promise to his mother that he would try his best. And that he did. He excelled in his physical education, and found that he had a knack for weapon and armor engineering. By the last month of his Sophomore year, he had developed a prototype assault rifle and prototype battle armor (Which would, five years later, become standard issue armor for standard special forces troopers of the Alliance, after modification by Alliance engineers). During his final physical exam, along with the rest of his Junior class, Commander Raines, head of the Long-range Assault and Naval Combat Elite (LANCE) conducted an inspection of the facility. He liked what he saw when it came to Alexander’s physical performance, along with some others there. Him and his guards (Non-LANCE) were about to take them to LANCE’s training facility in -Location Undisclosed- when an as of then hostile alien species, the Seterians (Lupine body shape, hardened exoskeleton, 1.5X height of a normal human, strength equal to 1.5X of humans, and intelligence of an average human) , attacked the colony. While many of the students there decided to flee and seek shelter in one of the bomb shelters, roughly 30 of the 200 students there decided to stay, and help defend the Commander and his men. The Seterians pushed and pushed to try and capture him, eliminating his four guards in a ten minute long pitched battle. However, Alexander and the other cadets, using weapons picked up from dead guards, and those created by Alexander and another student nicknamed “Frost”, held them off long enough for reinforcements from a nearby military installation to arrive, and make the final push.
Of those 30 cadets, only 12 of them (including Frost and Alexander) survived. After watching their combat skills (many of them still being juniors, with Frost being the one Senior) Commander Raines took them under his wing, and flew them to the newfound LANCE Program’s training facility. The twelve survivors of the “First Contact Battle” with the Seterians became the base of LANCE, who’s sole purpose was to engage threats to the Alliance that were not near Alliance territory. It specialized in deniable operations, and as such, had more flexibility with its operations than normal Special Forces branches of the Alliance.
Alexander spent his senior year, and the next 6 years training with LANCE, gaining valuable combat training that propelled him into the top-tier of combat operators in the program, engineering training that made him top weapons and armor engineer in the LANCE program, and among top tier of the Alliance as a whole, extremely durable armor, and a powerful rifle. He then spent the following 4 years running various ops for LANCE, in which time the small team grew to a size of roughly 400 members from various branches of the Alliance.
Through that time though, Alexander found that although LANCE was supposed to be free of red tape, it still had regulations and rules keeping it from taking the appropriate action half the time. The last straw was when him and the original 12 LANCE soldiers were sent on a mission into deep space, to eliminate an Alliance general that had defected, while holding onto military secrets. On the way there, they found a small civilian frigate under attack by two mercenary pirate frigates. They could have engaged and won the engagement, and rescued the civilians, but Alliance officials didn’t want them to risk starting an incident with the merc band the pirates were a part of. Alexander was forced to watch the civilian ship burst into flames briefly, then flare out as the vacuum of space consumed the fire. His ship simply kept going on its predetermined course. Alexander had had enough, and as soon as their ship neared a planet, he took his rifle, his armor, and some rations, and jettisoned his escape pod. Upon landing, he quickly blended into the mercenary community there. Due to no one knowing about LANCE, his armor didn’t give him away. Frost and the rest of the team attempted to find Alexander after their mission was complete… But to no avail. He had already bought transport to another system. He had become a mercenary. He wanted to set his own rules, get jobs done HIS way. A mercenary seemed the logical choice to him…
Since then, he has established himself as a veteran mercenary, eliminating companies’ competition, acting as a commando or shock trooper for national armies, and his in between job; hunting down the various pirates of the galaxy for bounties…
