Blues station radio host
Benjamin Ratterman is a jovial and merry person who tries his best to make light of any situation he comes across, which sometimes ends poorly. He's usually known as the "funny guy" in whatever circle of friends he travels with, a trait that can get him in trouble if he runs his mouth off to the wrong people. Mr. Ratterman also has a penchant for the bottle, and can be most often found at the nearest club, possibly even taking on two drinks at once. He doesn't believe he has a problem, and can be quite belligerent when cut off. His pride is not easily injured, but Benny the Rat can't stand short jokes, due to his stature. Benny would like to be a big part of the local music scene, which means he often scouts for upcoming talent.
Benny the Rat has no equipment other than his golden radio voice. In a fight, Benny is slightly proficient with his fists due to a spell working in the world of bare-knuckle boxing.
Benjamin Ratterman, born January 31st, 1924, grew up fatherless after his dad ran off with some cheap cabaret singer. His mother worked as a waitress, often taking young Benny in with her when she couldn't find a sitter for the late night shifts. This was how Benny became acquainted with the world of radio, as the only entertainment present during these late night hauls was the crackly voice of a radio host. This was how Benny the Rat's radio-friendly personality came to be. He often got into scuffles at school for his wise-guy personality, and ended up not finishing high school. As he floated between odd jobs and bare-knuckle boxing, a sport he was not exactly suited to given his frame, he made it his goal to eventually become the radio host he had always looked up to.
