Judith

The door opened up a second later, as Judith peeked out. Her eyes widened momentarily, before a large smile spread across her face. She opened her door fully, and stepped aside to let Margaret enter.

"Margie! I'm glad to see you're here; I was wondering when you'd arrive!" Judith beamed, as she gave her friend a brief hug. "Go ahead and set your stuff on my bed; I've pretty much finished cleaning up, so it won't be a problem."

Judith closed the door behind them, and let her partner set aside her supplies for the sleepover--which, knowing her, most likely consisted of just the bare essentials. Not that Judith really minded at all.

"I'm sorry about switching locations all of a sudden," the green-haired girl apologized, running a hand through her hair. "Hope you don't mind..."

Chiyo

Chiyo gave a small sigh of relief, glad she hadn't accidentally managed to offend Aolani. Not that she ever seemed to, but the possibility was still there. Now that they were talking more about playing the game though, the slight girl's purple eyes lit up. Now she was in her element. "Of course I don't mind, Aolani. In that case I'll play as Austria." Already she was forming tactics and strategies to dominate the other civilizations, economically, militarily, religiously, and, most importantly of all, culturally. And of course, a superior spy network wouldn't hurt either.

Gleefully, the purplette's unoccupied hand flew to her tablet, flicking it open and dancing across it with an uncharacteristic grace. For the most part, she didn't even look down. Why would she? After all, Chiyo had been using the book-like device for long enough that its operational systems were almost an extension of her own consciousness.

Finishing the egg on her plate and setting her fork down to wipe her mouth with her napkin, Chiyo looked up at her best friend. "Alright, it's all set up. The rest needs your computer, but that shouldn't take too long. Also, if you need help with coming up with a better wireless password, I'd be glad to help." She paused. "Sorry. I probably should have just asked for the password." Her face had turned a light shade of pink, and once more looked down at the ground. "I suppose I got a bit overexcited. Sorry."

Margaret

Margaret's still polite smile widened, if just a tiny bit, and she set her bag on the corner of Judith's bed, and standing next to it. "It's quite alright, Judith. I really don't mind at all." This was true. While it was slightly worrisome to have Yuubey out of her reach, she at least wouldn't have to concern herself with keeping an eye on him. She might even be able to allow herself to sleep. That is of course assuming she could sleep with him out there unsupervised.

Well, regardless of all that, the situation was what it was, and there was little she could do at the moment to change it for the better. Here is where the sleepover would take place, she couldn't call it off, and here was one place that Yuubey would certainly not be, even with her here to watch him like a hawk.

Looking about the room for anything her friend might not have gotten to yet in her cleanup, Margaret asked "Would you like my help, by the way?"

Judith

"Sure! I was actually just about to grab an extra pillow from the closet, for tonight. Would you mind keeping the door open for me?" Judith inquired with a demure smile. It wasn't much, admittedly, but she felt like she should give Margie something to do, given that she was pretty much done with the cleaning.

Once her friend agreed, Judith walked over to her closet, pushing it open with one hand. She rummaged in it while Margaret kept it open for her, stretching herself so she could reach the pillow at the top of the closet. Hm. She should really tell Mom to stop placing stuff at the very top shelf of the closet; she wasn't tall enough to comfortably reach it...

The green-haired girl finally reached it, and grabbed it, pulling it toward her. However, the pillow knocked something off from the top shelf as she got it, sending a group of books falling to the floor.

Judith jumped slightly, and got out of the way of the falling books, clutching the pillow protectively. After a moment, she started to reach down to pick them back up, but froze, recognizing them instantly.

Oh God. No. No. No. Nononononononononononononono--!

The cover of one of the books, which just so happened to be right in Margaret's eyesight, displayed a drawn image of two teenage women kissing rather aggressively, and groping each other in an explicit manner.

A strangled gasp escaped Judith's throat as she stared down at her fallen porn stash, frozen with absolute horror.

Oh god. This...oh god....

Aolani

Aolani let out a chuckle, more amused by Chiyo's antics than anything else. God, she was so adorable! Especially when she got so embarrassed like that.

"It's quite fine, Chiyo," the blonde assured her friend. To be fair, Chiyo knew her quite well, and the fact that Wicked was her favorite play of all time meant that figuring out her wireless password was Wicked related wouldn't be too hard for her to figure out. Hm. She still ought to pick a better password for next time, though. Heh.

Maybe Gelphie? She very much doubted the purplette would guess that, given that she hadn't even figured out that Aolani was into girls...

Aolani finished up her late breakfast, and pushed her plate aside when she was done. "So, I'm ready to start if you are, Chiyo."

Margaret

Margaret's first instinct was to step forward to protect her Puella Magi partner from whatever was descending upon her. Not that even the weakest of Magical Girls, which Judith was most certainly not- actually, in terms of raw power, she might very well be stronger than Margaret herself- had ever been permanently harmed by falling books. As it turned out, however, her swift reaction was unnecessary for another reason as well, namely that Judith moved out of the way.

Of course, Margaret then moved to help pick up, but was given pause by what she saw on the cover of one of them.

... huh.

Actually, thinking back on it, this did make sense, when she considered some of the things that Judith had said or done in the past. It also explained a few things, such as her failure to express interest in any boys, something Margaret had come to expect from her classmates. Margaret's polite smile became a grin of barely concealed amusement, which, her being her, actually didn't mean much change in facial expression. Her amusement was not at the green-haired girl's newly revealed sexuality of course, Margaret herself didn't really have much opinion on such things in general, other than that it was none of her concern, but rather at how it was revealed.

While she said nothing for the moment, even the veteran Puella Magi, normally not one to tease, couldn't resist looking over at Judith with a single raised eyebrow, before she knelt down to start picking the books up. Margaret's face was a bit pink, looking at the books, but there were more important things to be done than concern herself with that. "I assume you'll want these back out of sight before Ruth comes in, yes?"

Chiyo

Chiyo finished her food right around the time Aolani did, and practically leaped from her seat at her statement, "The Theocratic Counterintelligence State of Austria concurs. Let us be on our way; Europe awaits conquest. And then, perhaps the world."

This said, Chiyo pushed her chair back under the table, took one step towards the door, and paused. "Wait," she said, moving back and picking up her plate, "shouldn't we clean up first?" She was eager to get to the game of course, the image of some Prussian cavalrymen charging towards Vienna, only to find themselves hopelessly outgunned and outflanked, circled her thoughts even now, but she wanted even more to be a good houseguest.

Judith

"Y-Yes!" Judith stuttered out, her face tinged a dark crimson red. The younger Puella Magi stood frozen, her embarrassment and horror rooting her in place.

When Margaret was finally done putting her illicit collection away, Judith finally looked away, staring down pointedly at the floor, still very much mortified by the whole situation.

Oh god! This...how could this have happened?! How?! She'd always been so careful in the past to not have anyone ever discover her...collection, but now Margie knew! Oh gawd, this was...she...

Judith gave a groan, and buried her face in her palms.

"I-I'm sorry for being such a pervert, Margie..." Judith mumbled, her voice slightly distorted with her mouth covered up by her hands. "Oh god, I never thought this would happen...ugh, you must think I'm such a depraved pervert, or something..."

Aolani

"It's fine, Chiyo. Grandpa will be more than happy to clean it all up. Besides, I'm sorta banned from the sink, after...well..." Aolani trailed off, her face a little red at the memory. She wasn't about to elaborate, though.

"Anyway, let's go!" the blonde hurriedly declared, rushing out of the dining room with her best friend.

As they ascended the stairs, an idea came to the track star's mind, which made her blush even more. It seemed a bit...risky, but well...what was life but a series of risks and chances? Besides, Chiyo could take her statement in a number of ways...

"Hey, I have an idea. How about we have a little contest? How about we see which one of us is the first to legalize gay marriage, okay?" Aolani joked, looking over at the purplette with a smile. Inwardly, though, her heart was fluttering crazily in her chest.

Chiyo could take that question any number of ways...but Aolani hoped most that she would take it as a hint that she was, well...that she liked girls. In truth, Aolani had an attraction to both sexes, though she'd always held an affinity toward girls, and Chiyo knowing that fact in particular was...w-well, if they were to ever have a...r-relationship, it would be good if Chiyo knew that her friend had a general attraction toward girls.

Of course, the Japanese girl being the quiet, introverted person she was, Aolani doubted that she'd come out and ask about any double-meanings her comment had. But still, if it planted the idea in her head that Aolani was attracted to girls, then she certainly wouldn't mind...

Chiyo

Chiyo was inclined to ask why Aolani would be banned from using a sink, a device which had little chance of causing any problems, but decided against it. Aolani would surely know that statement raised questions, so her failure to elaborate was most likely completely deliberate.

So, while some part of her still rebelled against the idea of leaving her dish for someone else to clean up, Chiyo followed with neither question nor complaint.

As the two went up the stairs, Aolani made a comment that the purplette thought was rather strange. "Hey, I have an idea. How about we have a little contest? How about we see which one of us is the first to legalize gay marriage, okay?"

It sounded like she was joking, and it was said with a smile, but Chiyo wasn't sure how she was meant to interpret it. For the- what was it? second? third?- time today, Chiyo wondered if her friend had figured out her sexuality. If so, what exactly was she wanting Chiyo to respond with? Did she want her to tell her outright? Was that even what her comments had been about? It was entirely possible that Chiyo was just over-analyzing things as usual. That said, thought, whatever, Aolani, if she had indeed figured it out, seemed to take no issue with it, which was good at least.

Eventually, after a second or two of thought, Chiyo gave what she thought the safest response for the situation as she understood it. "I think you'd need a mod for that actually."

Margaret

Though non-verbal communication was hardly a strong suit of Margaret's, she reached out and put a hand on her friend's shoulder before speaking, hopefully encouraging her to look up. "Not at all, Judith. It's not in the least uncommon for girls your age." And her age as well, considering they were only a year apart, not that this occurred to the elder Puella Magi.

While Judith's hands were still in front of her face, Margaret took the opportunity to get a look at her partner's Soul Gem in ring form. Neither embarrassment nor shame was despair, but Margaret was cautious. She didn't know whether either of these emotions, if either technically counted as one, stained a Soul Gem, but she would be ready to take whatever emergency action was necessary if the green began to darken.

Something that should be made clear however, is that Margaret's concern for Judith's emotional state was not, and never had been, exclusively because of the effect it could have on her safety. Margaret truly cared about the green-haired girls happiness for its own sake as well, it was just that her concern for her well-being was added on top of that.

Judith

Margaret's words mollified the mortified girl somewhat, and she finally looked up at her friend. Her face was still red from embarrassment, but the color was starting to fade.

"...You're, um, o-okay with me l-liking girls?" Judith asked hesitantly, looking away for a moment. "I mean...it, uh, doesn't bother you, Margie?"

Now that she was thinking a bit more clearly about the matter, that was something the green-haired girl really wanted to know. She'd always wondered how Margaret...felt about, well, girls like her, especially due to her Catholic upbringing and Judith's own crush on the older girl...

M-maybe if Margaret was okay with her...sexuality...they might actually have a chance? Er, if she ever actually got the courage to...confess, that is. Which Judith rather doubted happening anytime soon...

Margaret

"I'm perfectly alright with it; it doesn't bother me a bit." Margaret replied emphatically, or at least, as emphatically as one could say anything with barely a change in tone. To her own ears it sounded more that she was stating it as though it were obvious, rather than making it clear. But Judith was good at reading people's moods, and would hopefully pick up what Margaret meant.

It was true too. While it had not occurred to the veteran Puella Magi that her partner might be gay, she certainly saw nothing against it, and it did make sense in retrospect. And while it was true that the faith that she had been raised on wasn't exactly keen on such things, it technically wasn't forbidden in the case of females, besides, Catholicism, and indeed belief in any benevolent deity, did not mesh well with the world as Margaret had learned it truly was.

Of course, she wasn't exactly going to give that full explanation to Judith even if she did ask. She'd tell her that much, but wouldn't elaborate as to how exactly she'd found out.

Margaret considered asking if they should begin now, both as a genuine question and a way for them to move on to another subject if Judith wanted to, but she ended up deciding against it, as it might be interpreted as Margaret changing the subject, which might in turn imply that it made her uncomfortable. Perhaps she was over-thinking this a bit, but it was important that Judith did not get the wrong impression from her right now.

Chiyo

Chiyo wasn't quite certain how to answer that. "Well, there are certainly some social policies and religions that would lend themselves more to an earlier legalization, and other ones that would be less helpful towards that goal. Of course, there still wouldn't be any way to tell when your civilization would have done it."

When the two arrived once more in Aolani's room, Chiyo quickly booted up the computer, set up the game, and had her tablet in hand again within a matter of moments. She then sort of paused and hovered near the side of Aolani's bed. She had no reason to think this occasion any different from any other, but Chiyo did not like sitting on other people's furniture without invitation, simply due to the slight possibility that she might seem even a little presumptuous.

Judith visibly relaxed at Margaret's words, giving a relieved sigh. She was very, very glad to hear that; she didn't want her friendship with Margie marred at all by her sexual orientation. And, well...

If Margie was okay with her preferring girls, well...m-maybe...they might have a shot, as a couple?

Heh. Assuming she ever revealed her crush on Margaret to the girl in question, which Judith very much doubted. As much as she loved Margie, the green-haired girl didn't want to potentially ruin their friendship...

"Th-thanks, Margie." Judith eventually replied, giving her best friend a small smile. Regardless of her feelings for Margie, she was really glad to have such an understanding friend. "I really appreciate it."

Chiyo & Yuubey

And so Chiyo spent the remainder of the day as well as the night with Aolani. Sometime during the game she remembered to call her father and ask if she could stay over, her mother being away for the weekend, and received an answer in the affirmative.

Yuubey meanwhile remained near the house for the majority of the night, surprisingly unhindered by Margaret, who he had expected would at least try to recapture him at some point before the morning, though he did briefly break off his observations to take a look around the rest of the island. For once, there wasn't much danger of him actually contracting anyone. Kalani Island, as Witch-heavy as it might be compared to many places, did still have a limited supply of them. It could support one or two more Magical Girls, probably, but no more than that, especially as long as they continued to hunt Familiars as well.

And of course, Yuubey had been told to show up 'tomorrow', by Aolani back at the mall, and, whatever else might be said about the Incubator, he was obliging. They had requested time to speak privately and they had received it. He hadn't been close enough to eavesdrop after all, just to find out where they might be when he decided to contact them in the future.

It was the next day now though, and Yuubey was nothing if not obliging. This was why, when Chiyo awoke Sunday morning next to Aolani, she found there to be a familiar catlike creature sitting patiently on the dresser. "Good morning, Chiyo Wakahisa."

Margaret actually had been thinking about abducting Yuubey at some point during the night, though she probably would have attempted to trap him somewhere for a while rather than stay with him or bring him back to Judith's. She had some temporary success with putting large heavy objects on top of him in the past.

Ironically, she ended up being unable to do so, since she herself was pinned in place sometime during the night when Judith rolled over onto her arm. The irony was not lost on her, but that didn't mean she appreciated it. Margaret couldn't hold the situation against her, but there were more important things that she could be doing than sleeping. None of these things, however, were possible in her current position. So, for the first time in as long as she could remember, the stoic Puella Magi did sleep. Before she did though, she briefly pressed the Grief Seed she had on her up to her partner's Soul Gem, purifying it of whatever corruption it might have acquired since that morning.

As was always the case on the rare occasion that Margaret did sleep, she did not do so soundly, and her dreams were filled with fire and death and exploding glass. All the same, she did rest, and was probably better for it regardless.

Judith

Judith stretched slightly as she stirred into consciousness, blinking as she laid back on the bed. After a moment, she cracked one eye open, and turned her head, checking on Margaret.

The green-haired girl smiled, happy to see her best friend apparently sleeping peacefully. On an impulse, she leaned over and brought her lips to the older girl's cheek, giving her friend a light kiss.

Judith pulled back, giggling slightly. She nestled up closer against Margie, resting her face against her friend's rather long hair, enjoying the nice, warm feelings she got from being so close to her fellow Puella Magi partner. All the while, Judith still didn't quite realize that she was laying on Margaret's arm.

Aolani

Aolani shifted on the bed, moving closer to the awakening Chiyo as she moved in her sleep. While her friend stirred into consciousness, Aolani stayed asleep, caught up in a very pleasant and...stimulating, dream. The contents of said dream involving her and Chiyo; the latter of whom was dressed up in that very skimpy bikini the blonde had managed to get her to try on...

"Chiyo..." Aolani murmured her friend's name peacefully in her sleep, a wide smile on her face.

"Good morning, Chiyo Wakahisa."

However, the Incubator's sudden, and rather booming, voice startled the biracial girl out of her rather sensual dream, jarring her into consciousness.

Aolani made a protesting noise, opening her eyes blearily. She lifted her head, eyes locking on to spot her dresser, and the white-furred creature sitting on top of it. She was confused, for a brief moment, until the events of the past day came rushing back to her.

The blonde frowned at Yuubey, before ducking her head back onto her pillow, childishly hoping that, if she ignored it, it might go away. This early in the morning, she was in no mood to deal with this bullshit...

Margaret

Margaret moved with unerring grace through and around the barrage of attacks thrown her way. She hadn't always been able to do so, and she certainly wasn't able to the first time this fight occurred. By now however. while she was not currently cognizant of the fact that she was in a dream, she had grown intimately familiar with how this Witch moved, and was able to dispatch it fairly quickly. Another thing she'd learned since was how to read runes, though the phrases she saw as she glanced around at the now dissolving barrier made her wish she had not.

As usual, her conversation with dream Yuubey was more of a blur, and the dream faded out with relative speed after that. Sometimes there were variations, rarely there was a dream where the whole trio survived, and those were arguably the cruelest. Tonight, however, it had been rather normal, and the dream had proceeded much as the reality had.

The noirette was roused from her sleep by a light touch on her cheek, followed by the realization that her arm was completely numb. Margaret remembered the reason why this was the case, just as her eyes opened, revealing the girl in front of her. A tired, but surprisingly genuine smile spread across Margaret's face. "Ah, good morning Judith. Is Ruth up yet?"

Chiyo & Yuubey

Both Chiyo and the Incubator gave Aolani a glance as she mumbled in her sleep, before turning back to face one-another. Before either of them could speak however, the blonde seemed to wake, give Yuubey a notably displeased look, and roll back over. "Good morning, Aolani." Yuubey said, turning back once more to face Chiyo.

After a moment, Chiyo realized that she hadn't responded yet. "U-Um, g-good morning, Yuubey." It closed its eyes and inclined its head slightly in acknowledgement. Briefly, it considered moving closer, but Aolani seemed rather annoyed with him for some reason. How odd.

Well, no matter, he'd just talk to Chiyo for now. "I'm here, as agreed yesterday. Have you considered my offer?" He directed the telepathic question exclusively at Chiyo, so as not to disturb her companion. Really, he figured that her answer would most likely go for both of them anyway. The purplette, however, hesitated. Had she considered it? In truth, astonishing as it might seem, she had not, at least not much. Aolani had, for the most part, kept them pretty occupied, and any thinking that Chiyo did on the subject was mainly just how cool that would be. The idea was definitely appealing, even more so if she could help people, but she had barely put any thought, aside from those two isolated instances, into what she wanted badly enough to use a magical wish to get it.

"Morning, Margie!" Judith beamed, opening her eyes again. She smiled brightly at her friend. "Probably not. Ruth loves to sleep in, whenever she can get the chance."

It was at that moment the green-haired girl realized that part of her body was resting on something that wasn't bedding. Judith blinked, puzzled, before she realized. She quickly rolled to the side, finally freeing Margaret's trapped hand.

"Oh! I'm so sorry Margie! I didn't realize I was sleeping on your arm," the younger Puella Magi apologized, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly.

Aolani

After another minute spent trying, and failing, to fully ignore Yuubey, Aolani gave a frustrated sigh. She rolled back over, lifting herself up to check and see if the Incubator was still there. Annoyed to find just that, she grabbed her pillow, and tossed it at the offending creature.

"Can you please wait until after we've had breakfast before you bother us, you goddamn white...cat...w-whatever the hell you are!" the blonde groused, sending a fierce glare at Yuubey.

Normally, Aolani wasn't so mean or crabby at other people...but for Yuubey, well, he was a special exception. He, more or less, represented everything that had fundamentally changed in her worldview in the past twenty-four hours, and so Aolani felt more than a little satisfaction taking out her frustration and anger out on him. Besides, he wasn't even human, so that helped to lessen any guilt the biracial girl might otherwise feel...
