You ever get the feeling that something is wrong? Just that gut feeling that makes your stress levels rise and sense of security diminish. Well on April 5 2016, around 1:54pm an announcement was made on the radio. The broadcasterโ€™s decided to go against their superiors and silence the rumors.

On November 15 2015 in Dallas Texas, a crudely made video was recorded and posted online. The video became an easy hit, the view numbers climbing by the millions. The video first showed a young Asian woman dancing alongside her friends, their high pitched giggles making the sound crackle. The recorded, which is a briefly seen girl, then started dancing along with the women. Techno music and flashing colorful lights made viewers presume the women were in a club, but not even the thudding beat could silence the fear stricken wails that came next. The curious recorder decided to head towards the screams and ended up filming the very thing the government has been trying to hide. The recorder fell, momentarily dropping the phone but she grabbed it just in time to document the gory event. The fuzzy video showed a young man with bright neon pink hair. Hissing and growling were the only sounds made by the man as he hunched over a body. The recorder must have somehow caught his attention for seconds later he turned towards the camera. With the low lighting and fuzzy picture it was hard to make out his appearance, but the crimson liquid that soaked his clothes was easily seen. The recorder screams and the video ends.

You could only imagine the rumors that spread, quick as wildfire. Soon everyone knew and became curious, some even booking a flight to the southern city though were later denied access as police quarantined off the city. No one was allowed inโ€ฆ.and no one was allowed out. It wasnโ€™t long after that many flights were unwillingly canceled, cruises and shipped were docked and military sightings became a regular occurrence. No one was allowed to leave their country and some of the larger cities were sectioned off from the rest of society.

Then around Christmas of 2015, rumors about an airborne virus started to cycle around. Of course the Military would never share such sensitive details and they were loyal to the government. Yet no matter how hard the higher ups denied it, their lies will catch up with them eventually. So on April 5, radio and news broadcasters confirmed the virus and the event in the video. The United States, China, Japan, all of the United Kingdoms, all of South America and Mexico have been quarantined off from the world, the virus having already infected over 80% of the population in those areas. Thatโ€™s was all the broadcasters could share before the signal was cut and only static was left. Riots and protests started, violence spreading throughout the larger cities.

Then it happened. Everything just went from bad to horrible.

Image
THE SURVIVORS
You are a survivor. You are immune to the airborne virus that now clouds the Earth, but you aren't fully immune to the virus. If it gets straight into your bloodstream you can be infected. Its been months since the broadcasters announcement and the rumor is still that in some places, a rumor. Today is September 25, 2016. You do your usual morning route, wake up, get ready, eat breakfast and head to work. You take note that the usual heavy traffic and large groups of protester's are absent but you don't worry to much about it. Its not until you get to work that you start you become worried as no one, not even the custodian is there. This is the beginning of your adventure and how you and a group of strangers will learn to survive.

THE RULES
1. I am not going to put up a character sheet, I want you guys to be creative and make your own. Make it detailed and nice.
2. Reserve a spot in the OOC. Under your reservation put what your favorite zombie movie is so I know you have read the rules.
3. There are zombies in this roleplay. It will get gruesome.
4. I don't want any Military or ex-military characters. Make your character unique and not your standard, clichรฉ "OH IM TOTALLY NOT PREPARED, JUST LET ME PULL OUT MY AK47 WITH INFINITE AMMO AND BACKPACK FULL OF SUPPLIES". If you do this I will not accept your character.
5. Have fun. I would like your posts to at least have 200+ words. Nothing under but you can always go over.

ะฝฮฑvั”ะธ MACKENZIE

The constant chiming of her phone made Haven groan. Rolling over she tapped the screen once again to silence the alarm. She had been doing so for the past half an hour. She was starting to regret taking the early shift today but also for staying up so late. That's what she gets for wanting to re-watch the first few seasons of Dexter. Damn you Netflix! With a groan Haven finally rolled out of bed once she noticed it was 8:00am. Sitting up she saw Bear, her chocolate lab still sleeping at the foot of her bed. Haven shivered as the cool morning air replaced the warm blanket she was wrapped in moments ago. Haven quickly pulled on a large sweater and slippers before walking out of her bedroom and towards the kitchen. She turned on the kettle and grabbed a bowl from the cupboard before pouring fruit loops and milk into it. Next she grabbed her box of apple cinnamon tea and honey, then poured the now hot water into her mug before prepping her tea. Haven took a seat on the couch. Wondering if her roommate was home Haven called out "Hey! Adriana are you home?"

The shout echoed in the apartment yet no one answered. Haven concluded that Adriana must have stayed at her boyfriends. With that in mind she left her dishes in the sink and headed to the bathrooms, leaving the door open as she did her business. Once she was clean, hair in a bun and minimal makeup on Haven retreated back to her room to get dressed. Pulling on some light blue jeans, white t-shirt and her brown leather jacket, Haven then grabbed her purse and phone before leaving. Haven took note that it was usually quiet in the hall's of the apartment building but ignored it as she saw the time. Since the Bakery was only a five minute walk Haven jogged to work.

Once again she noticed that no one was around. The elderly folks who usually occupied the park benches beside the Bakery weren't there this morning. Strange. With anxiety growing in the pit of her stomach Haven used her keys to open the Bakery which she surprisingly found open. Her body tensed as she opened the door, the bell above the threshold chiming as it usually did. "Hello?" Haven called out, her question meeting silence. She made her way into the back of the Bakery, towards the kitchen or as the other Bakery girls called it 'her domain'.

"Grace? Naomi?" she called out again. The clanging of something metal hitting the floor made Haven jump in surprise and swiftly turn towards the noise. She gasped in surprise as Grace, the middle aged owner of the Bakery, stood by the office door. Her brown hair was stringy and messy, her once tanned skin taking on a yellowish green. It was her eyes that shocked Haven the most, for the once beautiful emerald green eyes of her boss were now dead looking, pale and blood shot.

"Grace? Are you okay?" Haven wearily questioned, slowly backing away as Grace started to approach. Her boss growled at the movement and her once slow movement quickened immensely as she charged. A surprised scream left Haven as she moved quickly, grabbing whatever was closes. She swung the pot at the charging Grace, knocking the hissing woman sideways. Haven moved quickly, running from the kitchen and out of the Bakery.

Mornings were never jolly until Ronnie got her daily cup of cheap gast station coffee and today she was getting it early. She had missed two days of work because of catching the flu, and it giving her a nightmare of problems like fever and constant coughing until midnight. Because of this, she had planned on arriving extra early to the hotel she worked at, Fairmont Hotel, to please her supervisor and not make her regret the days off she had reluctantly given Ronnie.

The day was kind of gloomy and something in the air was a bit off. Ronnie's white shoes grazed the pavement softly as she made her way to the gas station in which she usually got her morning coffee. She hadn't bothered to put makeup on, and her hair was pulled back into a neat half up ponytail, complementing the simplicity of her light blue housekeeper uniform. In her black backpack she only carried a change of casual clothes, her apartment keys and her wallet.

As she walked around her neighborhood, she couldn't help but notice the absence of people. Even though the sun was barely coming up, she usually crossed paths with at least somebody on her way to work. A nagging feeling kept Ronnie on high alert, but nothing beat her priority of getting coffee. As she rounded the corner, and spotted the brightly lit gas station store, her mouth morphed into a small smile and her posture relaxed. But as she got closer to the store's doors, she couldn't help but notice the large red stains on the floor and windows.

Curiosity got the best of her and she found herself opening the door to welcome a foul odor; it smelled like death. Ronnie cautiously stepped around the pool of unknown red substance and made her way towards the smell's origin, only to find what looked like a deformed half-eaten human corpse lying behind the cash register. A scream lodged itself into Ronnie's throat but for unknown reasons she couldn't get it out. The only thing she could do was stare at the body and ask herself what the hell had happened here.

But before Ronnie could get her gears working, an unusual sound in the back of the store caught her attention: animal-like growling. Again, curiosity got the best of her and she made her way towards the source of the sound. Why she didn't take the hint that something was wrong when she saw the half-eaten body, she didn't know. As she approached the back door something in her mind snapped. She had just seen a dead body and she was going towards the sound of growling in the back of a gas station's store. Suddenly horror movies seemed more realistic than Ronnie thought they could be.

Her feet pounded the store's floor as she fled away of the scene and excited the station, empty-handed and deadly scared. But Ronnie could only think of one thing: what was that?!

James William McCrae

James blearily cracked his eyes open to look at the clock trying to figure out what had woken him up. It was hard to say if it was his pounding headache, the sunlight streaming through the windows or the fact that his bladder felt like it was the size of a beachball. Well first things first, he thought as he stumbled towards the bathroom.

He was still trying to remember what had happened last night when he hit the shower. The warm water played over him as bits and pieces began to come back to him. They'd just come off a particularly rough shift, it was never fun to run into a room where a girl had tried to hang herself with piano wire. The new guy had just about vomited as they'd gotten her down and into the back of the ambulance. Recoveries like that were the worst, there wasn't anything you could do and all you were left with was a feeling of disappointment and shame. That's how at they had found themselves in a bar at the end of shift; desperately happy to be alive and toasting every good thing they could think of.

As he toweled off and started to get ready he tried not to think of all of that. It was time to get back on shift, so he started to pull himself together and head out the door. That's when he first started to get uncomfortable, as he biked to work he didn't really see too many other people. No one was at the front desk when he got in there but all he could concentrate on by that point was getting his stuff on before he was late.

Once he'd shrugged into his jumpsuit he picked up his fast pack and buckled that on. That was what contained anything he'd need to have directly to hand in an extreme life saving situation. For that reason a lot of people had taken to calling it the "Oh Shit" kit. Walking out the door he realized he still hadn't run into anyone. He figured he'd go check the Ambulance bay and see if the guys were working on something in there. He couldn't find anyone there either but did hear a rythmic banging coming from the inside of one of the vehicles. "Mike I swear to god if you locked the new guy in here we are in so much shit this time." He called out as he walked over to the Ambulance opening the door.

The figure that popped out was incredibly aggressive; smashing the door open before James had even finished pulling it all the way out. In retrospect that was the only thing that saved him as he got pushed to the side as the figure jumped out trailing intestines. James eyes went wide and he just turned and ran. The figure chased him through into the locker room before tripping on one of the benches. James just jumped on it and started kicking anything that came in reach. He'd been in streetfights before in his younger years and you just had to put the other guy down quickly as possible. He staggered out into the street once he was done, still in his jump suit with his fast pack, and retched over the curb.

Jamie was use to waking up on her couch since she usually chose to stay after her work hours at the Morgue and came home exhausted and just passed out on her couch. Her blonde curls laid sprawled out on the couch while her hand hung off the side. The small living room area of her apartment was silent with the only noise being her soft and even breathing along with the soft tunes of a traditional Romanian song that played in the background. Fortunately for her Jamie managed to turn on her radio which already had a custom Cd she burned the other day playing. Five minutes went by then ten and twenty-five when Jamie finally woke up to the sun peaking through her curtains and coincidentally right onto her face.

Jamie sat up on the couch while a small yawned escaped her lips. Her eyes gazed around her dimly lit apartment before she actually got off her butt and made her way to the bathroom still a bit half asleep. After about an additional twenty minutes Jamie exited the bathroom feeling refreshed and clean. She had the towel wrapped around her tightly and made her way into her room then exited after she got dressed for work and boy was she happy they had no dress code. "Now for some coffee." she said to no one in particular as she finished packing her backpack and made her way to the kitchen while pulling in her earbuds.

For some reason Jamie kept feeling more and more . . . off. One of her bad vibes but she didn't know why because she was feeling fine and so far it's been a nice quiet and perfectly cool September morning. Shrugging it off Jamie went back to making her coffee while lip syncing to the song that played in her ears. Her hands moved swiftly over to the cream and sugar since making her coffee in the morning has become such the norm for her. Her eyes gazed over to the time before back to her coffee as she took a sip. Her legs took her over to her window which looked over the backside of her apartment which was nothing but trees and shrubs. It was quite relaxing though, especially with her radio still playing in the background.

After finishing her coffee and admiring the view Jamie turned off her radio, grabbed her keys, bag and bike and left her apartment. That first step outside caused her to get another one of her unsettling gut feelings and she cautiously looked around but to no avail because there was nothing or no one in sight which wasn't too odd around her apartment because mostly older people lived here and they were out of they're apartments earlier than her. With the okay from her brain Jamie hopped on her bike and began to petal down the street. One of her favorite songs came on which made her zone out and enjoy the breeze that hit her face and ran through her hair as she stood on her bike. Jamie was never the one to actually sit on the bike when riding, she usually stood on the petals and got lost in that since of freedom she had whenever she rode.

Honestly she hadn't taken notice to the lack of cars on the street or people walking on the pavement since she was in her own zone but it finally struck her strange when she was riding in the street and came to a red light. She looked both ways to make sure no cars were coming when she was making her turn but to her surprise there were no cars anywhere on the street, just the ones that were parked. Her gut feeling kept coming back over and over but she kept ignoring it since her need to get to work on time took over. She shook the oddness of the lack of cars on the road and continued to work thinking that maybe traffic was really slow today or that maybe everyone was at work? Whatever the reason was it wasn't going to stop her from getting to work on time anymore.

A couple of blocks and turns later and Jamie was at the Morgue. She left her bike at the back, leaned up against the brick building before entering. Next, her backpack came off and was set in a chair by the back door. The inside of the Morgue was quiet and eerie. "Hey Mike you here? Dr.Beller?" Jamie stepped into where they kept the bodies chilled at until preparation and found no one but the same body her and Mike were working on last night. Instantly her mind began to question things like why was the body still out? And where was Mike and Dr.Beller? Did they ever go home last night? As her mind raced, her ears caught the sound of a low constant groan coming from around the corner, deeper into the morgue but sine Jamie came in from the back the noise was coming from the front where the space resembled an office, somewhat. What Jamie failed to notice were the bloody smeared hands prints on the wall that lead to the office area but she began noticing the blood when droplets came into sight on the floor in front of her.

The droplets got bigger and bigger until she rounded Dr.Bellers desk to find a hunched figure wearing a white lab coat drenched in blood. It looked to preoccupied to notice Jamie standing just five feet away from it but then again Jamie always had light foot steps. The crunching and disturbing sounds that came from it's mouth while it chewed away at whatever it was eating caused knots to form in Jamie's stomach. Finally the words came out her mouth in a shaky voice. "Dr.Beller?" she asked only to be met with a swift and unsettling turn of her former bosses neck to reveal his dead and cold eyes and blood stained mouth. That's when her heart leaped down to her stomach. This wasn't really happening was it? This shit is only the type of things you see in movies right? Her thoughts once more flooded her mind as Jamie took a step back in fear. The corpse rose from what it was hunched over and tried to launch itself at Jamie.

Out of instinct the blonde jumped out the way and over her bosses desk, scattering paper all over the floor and catching a glimpse of her former co-worker, Mike, on the floor dead and torn open. Her blood was going now so she did the first thing that came to mind, run. Jamie took off back the way she came in with the Doc right behind and almost fell on her face when she tripped over the damn carpet. She stumbled forward but caught her footing and when she turned to see if the Doc was close behind she was met with a horrifying screech and the Doctors dead face reflecting in her eyes. Jamie quickly ducked behind the gurney and tried to fend him off from behind there but she was panicking until her gaze went down and noticed the surgical scissors on top of the gurney. In a swift movement she picked them up and stabbed them right through her bosses right eye socket. It made the most disturbing sound and blood covered her hand but after all that the thing still didn't go down.

In a desperate attempt to get the hell out of there Jamie pushed over the gurney onto it and ran out the back door but not without picking up her backpack on the way out. Still in a panic Jamie struggled to put on her backpack for a second but once she finally had it on the blonde took her bike and petaled out of there at high speed. Her bloody hand gripped on the handle bar as tears welled at the corners of her eyes. The fuck was going on!? Jamie was riding down one of the many barren streets when a girl ran out of the bakery looking deadly frightened. She skid her bike to a stop in front of the store only to stop a few feet away since she stopped suddenly going at a very high speed. Her breathing was now reduced to a pant as Jamie examined the girl to make sure she didn't show any resemblance to her boss then hopped off her bike only to jog the few feet towards her. "You alright? Do you know what the fuck is going on?" she questioned, fear eminent in her eyes.
