"Oh. Heya...everyone here is cute. I...I didn't expect you right now."
"She's a hottie. Hello love."
"Nonoono this is Bex her friend,

"Surprise!" Rebecca shouted, with a grin on her face that said she wasn't sorry at all for showing up with no notice. She glanced at all the faces in the room, a little curious as to why there were so many. It didn't exactly look like a party and if she had to call it anything, it would be a kick back. Still, something felt off - almost like all these people lived here. Neighbors maybe? She didn't care, she laughed at the one who called her a hottie. "Nah, Beck isn't really my type. His hair's a little too long and he's a little too moody." She teased.

Elisa is the quieter one."

"Is that my identifier? I like to think I'm the less rude one." Elisa said with a playful glare towards Rebecca, which earned her a light elbowing to the ribs. Elisa stuck her tongue out and they both continued bantering like siblings for a couple moments. They had become just like sisters over the years and occasionally had been asked if they were related. Whether or not they said yes depended on the situation. For a moment, Elisa even forgot that she was in the middle of what was essentially a 'secret-gang-hideout.' She remembered when Beck ordered the group out.

Her heart dropped and she was still quite uncomfortable with the situation. Being in a gang wasn't a joke and she was terrified he was going to end up in jail or dead. She was glad when Leon walked in and the group sped up their exit, though she found that a little odd. Beck was supposed to be their lead, but everyone looked a tad more grim when the tattooed man had entered the room.

Rebecca, of course, plopped herself right beside Leon once he had settled with all the groceries. "Heya!" She greeted with a flirty grin, leaning on him as she popped her legs up on the couch.

"How are you doing?"

With Beck's arms around her, Elisa melted into him, swaying with him as though they were sharing little dance. It was nice and soft and so simple in comparison to everything else in the world. She pressed her forehead against his chest, with her arms wrapped around his waist. "I'm okay. What about you?"

The stitches in her neck ached and she wanted to rip them out, if only because they were pretty ugly and difficult to hide - even with her mountain of hair. She also knew the likelihood of them bothering Beck every moment they were there. She didn't want him to blame himself and he had a pretty awful habit of doing that, though she couldn't throw stones. They both needed a vacation. Or a rewind button for their lives.

"Is that my identifier? I like to think I'm the less rude one."

"I don't know...I wouldn't say that." Beck teased, planting a series of kisses on Elisa's cheeks in a childish and playful but rather irritating manner. "You can be quite snappy and nasty. It's kinda hot though." He chuckled lightly before moving over to the sofa's which surrounded a small coffee table. The place was seriously set out to let people socialise as much as possible.

"Heya!"

Leon smiled, the same kind of soft but expressionless smile that he always gave. The man was hard to read mainly because when he was happy, he behaved very calm cool and collected and when he was uncomfortable or worried, he was quiet. The difference was very slight and hard to notice. The brunette scanned the woman up and down realising that she had changed outfit from before, to something more daring and eye catching. "You been dressing up for me eh?...You look lovely." He asked her, only joking of course but Leon always took these kinds of little details too far, taking it as though her making effort was a weird blurred symbol of her undying love. For such a smart guy, Leon was a little dim witted at heart.

"I'm okay. What about you?"

"Yeah. You just had me worried. I'm always worried. I hate this." Beck told her very bluntly, running his fingers through the hair on his scalp like he always did when he was unsure of what do. He exhaled loudly. "Well I have kind of been thinking about what to do. It's not even a solution. It's really dumb I know but..." Beck pulled a brochure from his back pocket that he had rolled into some kind of mangled mess and tried to straighten it out on the table. "I just thought... I don't know what I thought really. It would be nice to get away from it all." The brochure was filled with Villa's that were located in places scattered around the US. "I'm not really sure where exactly, but I have some money saved. We don't have to, its just I know your Mother's away."

Leon piped up. "Is this for everyone? Or just for you two?" Beck shrugged, clearly not having planned any of this at all. "I don't know. I thought it could have been for us 4...or..or 5?" The brunnette narrowed his eyes, clearly trying to work out why he had added the extra person before realising he meant Mille. As much as he sure didn't mind her company, it seemed Elisa and Bex didn't exactly favour the redhead. "Oh...Um."

"You can be quite snappy and nasty. It's kinda hot though."

"And Bex was right, you are moody. I think I'll keep you though. You're cute." Elisa said with a laugh to compliment his. She followed him to the other sofa and sat behind him, draping her arms on his shoulders and leaning her head against his back. He smelled good, like pine needles after the rain. She was still nervous and on edge about everything, but to be next to him - with nothing immediately threatening them - was nice.

"You been dressing up for me eh?...You look lovely."

"Did you see me earlier? I was a hot mess. I can't have you thinking of me like that." Rebecca purred with a flirty grin, running her hand down his thigh. She liked to look good all of the time. The only reason she hadn't earlier was because she hadn't expected to see anyone she deemed important. Her tutor wasn't exactly a fine piece of man meat. He was seventy years old and would probably die of a heart attack if she wore anything more risque than a pair of shorts. Besides, she couldn't move right to play her violin in anything she actually liked to wear and as much as she liked clothes, she liked music more.

"Yeah. You just had me worried. I'm always worried. I hate this."

"Me too." Elisa said with a frown, pressing her lips against his hair. She looked up when he put the brochure on the table. He wanted to go on a trip? Some of the places were practically world's away, even if it was still within the US. Briefly, she wondered if Beck had even been anywhere else since he had moved from overseas.

"We could go to the coast. That's always fun. The beaches shouldn't be packed this time of year either, so you won't have to deal with swarms of people." Elisa was totally okay with this idea. She wanted to go away and she wanted a vacation. Running away had seemed like such a beautiful idea, even if it was only for a few days or a week.

"Is this for everyone? Or just for you two?"

"Why? You wanna get away with me now, Leon?" Bex teased him and smiled.

"I'm sure that's not why he asked." Elisa piped up with a wicked smile at her friend. "Who would wanna get away with you? Remember the last time I took you somewhere? You got the cops called on us because you decided two AM was the perfect time to drunkenly play your little violin. The electric one."

"In my defense, I had just gotten it and and I had been too busy until that time to mess with it." Rebecca stated matter-of-factly, though she giggled.

"I don't know. I thought it could have been for us 4...or..or 5?"

Rebecca and Elisa both looked at Beck when he mentioned a fifth person. Rebecca wouldn't have minded so much. Millie seemed like a pain in the ass, but she didn't mind the girl. She knew, however, that Elisa hated the red head. Vehemently.

"Hey bro, that's your call. If you want to live an episode of Bad Girls Club, that's all you." Bex said, clearly indifferent to the situation, if not a little amused by the idea.

Elisa stayed silent. If Beck wanted to bring her, she wouldn't stop him, but she wouldn't particularly like it either.

"And Bex was right, you are moody. I think I'll keep you though. You're cute."

Beck felt his heart drumming hard in his chest as she clung to him. Just her presence was magical, but at the same time every time she pressed herself against him he couldn't help but note the frailness of body. Although it was true that Elisa's eating habits had improved a little, she still was anything but healthy. Still the blonde tried to keep a cheery persona, as poking her about it at random points in the day would more than likely make her feel worse. "I don't even know what you mean by moody. I'm not moody. Nope." He explained to her, tutting a little.

"Did you see me earlier? I was a hot mess. I can't have you thinking of me like that."

"You are always a hot mess." Leon purred quietly, locking with her eyes and trying to dominate, that was until her palm began to run up towards his crotch causing him to flush and become quite flustered. He recalled the invitation she had given him earlier and wondered if it still stood. Actually he had been thinking about that text a lot. An awful lot. The brunette leaned towards her so that his lips brushed against her ear lobe. "I think of you in worse ways...much worse ways." He whispered, slyly sliding a hand round her waist and down to her ass.

"We could go to the coast. That's always fun. The beaches shouldn't be packed this time of year either, so you won't have to deal with swarms of people."

"Bikinis!~ Bikinis!~" Beck exclaimed, not with a lot of context. He clapped his hands a few times, grinning like a child. He repeated this a few times, smiling wider each time. Leon raised an eyebrow at him, kind of hoping Elisa was thinking on slapping him or scolding him harshly; it would be amusing to watch.

"Why? You wanna get away with me now, Leon?"
"I'm sure that's not why he asked."
"Who would wanna get away with you? Remember the last time I took you somewhere? You got the cops called on us because you decided two AM was the perfect time to drunkenly play your little violin. The electric one."
"In my defense, I had just gotten it and and I had been too busy until that time to mess with it."

"Oh my god. You can stay at home then. I actually think me and Elisa should be the only ones that go. That way we might manage a break and some peace and quiet." Leon huffed, his statement entirely truthful. But, Of course he wanted Bex there. His mind was already spinning at the thought of spending a whole week with her. Would they be sharing the same bed? Would she want to? Midnight beach walks?...He was getting carried away... Leon scooped up the booklet and began flicking through as though trying to encourage the trip. "Which one are we picking then? How much are we spending?"

"Hey bro, that's your call. If you want to live an episode of Bad Girls Club, that's all you."

"I can't leave out Millie." Beck told Bex with a half hearted smile. "She's like a sist..." He stopped, snapping his jaw shut tight. Sisters didn't fuck. Sisters weren't crazily obsessed with their brothers. For the majority anyway.

"You are always a hot mess."
"I think of you in worse ways...much worse ways."

The feel of his breath against Bex's neck sent shivers down her spine and a flush of colors to her cheeks. When he let his hands wander she nearly lost it, but chose to lean against him, her chest pressed into his side. "Then how about I show you what a bad girl I can be?" She breathed, her lips caressing his neck with every word. She was practically on top of him by then.

By that point Elisa had looked over and gave them both a look that was equal parts disgust and what could only be described as "what the fuck." written on her features. She turned to Beck and pressed her forehead against his shoulder. "Oh my GOD. My eyes! My pure, sweet, innocent eyes." She complained in the most dramatic tone she could muster. "Make it stop."

"Bikinis!~ Bikinis!~"

"You're twelve and I'm in a room of sexually repressed semi adults." Elisa tutted, lightly pushing him. Though she really enjoyed the light hearted feel everyone was giving off, it made her think that fun was still possible. "I'm purposefully going to wear a swimsuit that looks like it came straight out of the 1920's now." She stuck her tongue out at the end of her threat.

"Oh my god. You can stay at home then. I actually think me and Elisa should be the only ones that go. That way we might manage a break and some peace and quiet."

"Which one are we picking then? How much are we spending?"

"Hitting on Elisa now? Oh my, Beck. Looks like you might have some competition, maybe we should run off and have our own adventure." Rebecca said with a laugh, only joking of course. Obviously, as long as she were welcome, she would be down to go. Anything to get the Hell out of town. "This one," She pointed to the brochure. "Has an amazing pier. And this other one has an amazing artist community..." She started listing off pluses and minuses of multiple locations within the brochure, obviously having visited her fair share of them. "This one I think has the best of everything." She pointed to one of the smaller locations, that still had a decent amount of things to do without being crowded by noisy tourists.

"I haven't been to the beach in yeeeeeears." Elisa stated, also growing more and more excited as the conversation carried on. "Beck, have you been?" She asked, curious if he had been anywhere since he had moved here and she had never thought to ask before. She hadn't asked him much about his life before he had moved here and she wondered what it had been like for him in England. She had visited before, but he had lived there.

"I can't leave out Millie."
"She's like a sist..."

Elisa's mouth formed into a hard line and she shook her head. "Won't she feel left out? I don't see Bex backing down from Leon. I mean, they were practically fucking on the couch a minute ago. And we all know how she feels about you anyway." She tried her best not to sound short, and she didn't want to come off as a jealous girlfriend, but part of her was extremely insecure about Beck's relationship with Millie. The way he spoke about her, it felt like he had feelings for her. Even if that wasn't the case, she couldn't stop herself from feeling that way.

"Then how about I show you what a bad girl I can be?"

Leon was now seriously flustered, he let out a quiet hum of sound, clearly extremely desperate to pull the woman into bed. Millie was never like this. There was never any effort. Of course this was just a personal thing as it was obvious that she wouldn't have done for him, but everything for Beck. It made him jealous, but lately he hadn't been thinking about the redhead at all, only Bex. As her breath danced across his neck, he caught a hold of her chin to pull her face close to his and...

I'm searching for something,

that I...

"Oh my GOD. My eyes! My pure, sweet, innocent eyes."
"Make it stop."

can't reach.

Leon froze in position, shooting a sharp glare at Elisa for ruining the potential kiss. He looked angry about the fact their sexual advances were cut short, but really he would have given anything for their lips to meet. "Yeah they are pretty gross. To be honest its weird to see Leon like that with a girl. You think the handsome bastard would be smothered in women, but he's really not the sort." Beck explained as the brunette began shaking his head at him with a sigh.

"I'm purposefully going to wear a swimsuit that looks like it came straight out of the 1920's now."

"Well Elisa Grace if your going to be like that you are NOT invited!" He told her in a very snotty tone, scooping the book of the table and seemingly sulking as he flicked through the pages privately. It took him a few minutes to finish his joke and place the brochure back on the coffee table.

"Hitting on Elisa now? Oh my, Beck. Looks like you might have some competition, maybe we should run off and have our own adventure."

"I'd happily sit through a few seasons of Doctor Who with you along with a takeaway and few drinks." Beck told her with a grin. Even just mentioning that idea made him think back to his quiet life before he got involved with his gang. He was quite the stereotypical laid back arty guy who enjoyed wasting life watching TV and eating shitty food. Things were so simple back then. He was so much happier.

"This one,"
"Has an amazing pier. And this other one has an amazing artist community..."
"This one I think has the best of everything."

"Eh. You know your stuff. We will listen to you. Everyone happy with this choice?" He asked, earning a nod from Leon but he didn't even take more than a two second glance at the paper. He was going on a trip with his friends and this new exciting girl that kissed him for longer than two seconds a time. He was a simple man and easy to please. Beck however kept skipping over to the page where she mentioned about the artist community, pressing his lips together with need. Maybe Elisa would go with him another time? He really hoped so.

"Beck, have you been?"

The blonde shook his head in response. "No...not at all actually. My Pa's been kind of...down since Mum left. He doesn't seem to have the energy anymore so I haven't travelled around the US at all. I should spend a day or two before with him before we leave. I hope you don't mind. I really worry about him." He explained to her, before resting his head on her shoulder in a pitiful kind of way.

"Won't she feel left out? I don't see Bex backing down from Leon. I mean, they were practically fucking on the couch a minute ago. And we all know how she feels about you anyway."

His heart sank at the last line that came out of her lips. Yeah, they all knew. Everyone knew. The whole bloody world might as well have knew. It was highly irritating. "You should put more trust in me. Just cause she's interested in me doesn't mean I'm bothered about her in that way." He told her rather coldly. It kind of felt like she view him low enough to not reject her advances and that upset him massively. "Even though Millie is a massive whore I'm sure the sunshine and shopping places will make up for the lack of dick she will be getting. Either that or Bex and Leon could end up with a interesting 3 way half way through the week."

For only a millisecond after Leon had reached for her face, Rebecca had let her guard down, and had she not caught herself, she would have winced. As quickly as her wall had been shattered, it had been put back up and replaced with the relaxed person she always was. She almost lost it again when she noticed the intensity in Leon's eyes, but only because it had shocked her. No one had stared at her with that much...desire, ever. She was relieved when Elisa had interrupted them. It felt like she was walking the line of what was okay and what wasn't, but she couldn't help herself. Leon was interesting and different. The other boys had been boring her for a while.

"Yeah they are pretty gross. To be honest its weird to see Leon like that with a girl. You think the handsome bastard would be smothered in women, but he's really not the sort."

"It's Bex. She's like a siren or a succubus or something." Elisa joked with a wink to her friend before turning back to her boyfriend. It was meant to tease, but it also felt a little bit like the truth. Even though Rebecca was always up front with her feelings on monogamy and relationships, a lot of boys simply didn't get the point and she had broken a few hearts. She didn't know if Leon would be the same, but still Elisa worried.

"Well Elisa Grace if your going to be like that you are NOT invited!"

She pulled her on her best pouty face. "You only love me for my bikinis, then? I see how it is." She crossed her arms and looked away at the corner with her nose in the air. For a moment she glanced back at him and in the same breath she tackled him. "You're so mean to meee. Mean boyfriend. Bad!" Her voice was the whiniest she could muster, simultaneously sounding like she was scolding an adorable dog, while snuggling her head against his chest. It was sickeningly cute and Rebecca rolled her eyes from where she sat, no on Leon's lap.

"Eh. You know your stuff. We will listen to you. Everyone happy with this choice?"

"My family likes to vacation and I ditch school enough to make some day trips, right Elisa?" Bex said with a laugh. They had gone on a handful of little adventures together, when life had just gotten to be a bit too much. It was worth getting yelled at for a missed day or two.

"We like the beach and the super quirky little shops that come with it." Elisa shrugged. "And the coffee shops are to DIE for." Not that she would be drinking any of it anymore, but the memories came back to her. It was decorated with vintage furniture and the bathrooms were covered in chalk board paint, with pieces of chalk sitting on a ledge so that visitors could sign or draw. The place was so hipster that it couldn't be contained, but it was fun as hell.

"No...not at all actually. My Pa's been kind of...down since Mum left. He doesn't seem to have the energy anymore so I haven't travelled around the US at all. I should spend a day or two before with him before we leave. I hope you don't mind. I really worry about him."

"Holy shit. I'm gonna have to take you EVERYWHERE. There's so much to do in Cali and then there's Vegas and Florida...You poor thing." Elisa said with a laugh, patting his head, though there was a bit of sadness in her voice when he mentioned his mom. She was having trouble accepting that a woman could just up and leave her kid and husband.

"Of course you can see your dad. Why would I mind?" She asked with a smile. If he had a dad that cared, he should go and visit. Especially if his dad was as depressed as she was led on to believe. The man had seemed so nice, even though she had only met him the once, and very briefly.

"You should put more trust in me. Just cause she's interested in me doesn't mean I'm bothered about her in that way."

"I trust you," Elisa said, her voice practically a whisper. She wasn't happy with where this conversation was going and Beck clearly wasn't going to back down about Millie going. I trust you, but that doesn't mean I'm comfortable with you paling around with a girl that's obsessed with you and that you use to fuck. She thought, but she didn't say it out loud.

"Even though Millie is a massive whore I'm sure the sunshine and shopping places will make up for the lack of dick she will be getting. Either that or Bex and Leon could end up with a interesting 3 way half way through the week."

"Naughty." Bex said, wagging her eyebrows in jest. "I could flip that girl, I'm like 90% sure."

"And then I'd be the only one in the room who hadn't slept with that girl. Jesus Christ." Elisa teased, albeit a bit maliciously.

"Well I mean, don't knock it till you try it. Girls have more fun."

Elisa made a face and shook her head. Even if she weren't entirely straight, she couldn't see herself going after someone like Millie. "As tempting as that doesn't sound, I think I'll pass."

"It's Bex. She's like a siren or a succubus or something."

"It's okay." Leon told her with a monotone expression on his face before shrugging his shoulders along with a movement of his arms. "I don't have a soul for her to steal." He grinned, chuckling lightly before turning to Bex and placing a playful kiss on her neck. It wasn't sexy, just warm and fun, maybe a bit too casual from a fuck buddie.

"You only love me for my bikinis, then? I see how it is."

Beck sighed and shook his head slowly, unable to keep a smile off his face. "Well you see I do very much like you in a bi-????!!!"

"You're so mean to meee. Mean boyfriend. Bad!"

"I'm not mean I'm just cool and badass." The blonde told her before sliding his hands around her waist lovingly, suddenly wiggling his fingers into a tickle that he inflicted upon Elisa. He continued for a while before deciding that too much would be cruel and stopped, allowing her to keep resting on his stomach.

"We like the beach and the super quirky little shops that come with it."
"And the coffee shops are to DIE for."

Beck sighed rolling his eyes. "You are actually both trash bag hipsters aren't you? Literally you are. Look at you. Ew I date a hipster. Ewewewew." He whined childishly, though in reality he always appeared a little bit hipster himself, what with his obsession with art and uncut hair.

"Holy shit. I'm gonna have to take you EVERYWHERE. There's so much to do in Cali and then there's Vegas and Florida...You poor thing."

"I want to go on lots of holidays with Elisa." He told her almost purring as he rubbed his head into her palm like a cat as she began to pat him. It was also notable that he referred to the girl in third person. "But I'm super poor. I'd have to pull together some money." He explained which was true. Sometimes Beck worked part time or sold his art online but he never got any funds from his Father, simply cause he could not spare it.

"Of course you can see your dad. Why would I mind?"

Once again he shrugged. "I don't know. Thank you." Beck said softly. He was kind of looking forward to having some proper Father-son time.

"Naughty."
"I could flip that girl, I'm like 90% sure."

"Well I mean, don't knock it till you try it. Girls have more fun."
"As tempting as that doesn't sound, I think I'll pass."

"Eh hem!? Am I missing something here? Have I not caught on??" Leon questioned, looking kind of puzzled but still rather curious. He tutted at the idea with a threesome with Millie and Bex, his heart just wasn't into it but then again just the idea of it in his head was turning him on. It was seriously true that men thought with their dicks, well in Leon's case anyway. "This is new news to me."

The man began to text Millie, asking her if she fancied the holiday and it didn't take long for her to reply with a passionate yes. "So do we all have credit cards? I'll pay for Millie for the time being, she can pay me later." He told them, which almost out of context seemed kind of sexual, but he never meant it in such a way. Still it kind of sounded like it. The man got up to pull a small laptop from under the coffee table and booted it up. He let out a generous yawn and rubbed his eyes, it was moving later into the night. All he could think about was if Bex would stay.

"I'm not mean I'm just cool and badass."

"You! Wish!" Elisa's words were broken apart between giggles as he tickled her. The moment was so light hearted she almost forgot that normally their lives were anything but. She wanted more time like this: easy and care free, where the only concern was if he could really keep tickling her without her accidentally elbowing him in the face. These were the tiny moments she could look back on, when things got bad. When things became so twisted, she wanted to put a bullet in her head, she could think back to now - a small bit of proof that things could be okay.

"You are actually both trash bag hipsters aren't you? Literally you are. Look at you. Ew I date a hipster. Ewewewew."

"I can't help it if I'm attracted to cute things. How else do you explain our relationship?" The brunette responded, looking at him with wide green eyes and batted her eyelashes with a innocent grin.

"Eh hem!? Am I missing something here? Have I not caught on??"
"This is new news to me."

Rebecca grinned at Leon like a lioness who had successfully cornered her prey. "I like boys and I like girls. I didn't think that was news enough to break?" She was practically straddling the poor guy now, twirling a piece of hair on her pointer finger. Her flirting was pretty heavy, but she was obviously enjoying herself.

She leaned in, running her fingers through his hair. "Besides, that's just a bonus for you, isn't it?"

"So do we all have credit cards? I'll pay for Millie for the time being, she can pay me later."

Elisa and Bex shot a look at each other, one with disgust and the other with amusement. They knew that Leon likely meant Millie would literally pay him back, with cash, but still - the innuendo, as made up as it might have been, was there. "Kinky." They both stated at once before dissolving into a fit of laughter.

"I've got a card. Daddy puts an allowance on here every week. Should be more than enough for my end." Bex said, pulling a card out of her bra, like the classiest of girls. For someone who grew up similarly to Elisa, Rebecca could be pretty trashy. Even if it was more or less an act.

Elisa just quietly handed over her own debit card, not mentioning her own allowance. She rarely used it anyway. Using her parents money made her a little ill, especially lately. It made her feel indebted to them and that's why she occasionally picked up a part time job. Not to mention, even if it was her parents money, the more she saved the more possible it was for her to take Jess and run when she was finally eighteen. "I've gotta get home soon." Elisa said with an uncomfortable shrug, leaning against Beck. "And you should see your dad."

Her eyes were feeling pretty heavy and so was the rest of her. The amount of energy she had was dwindling day by day. She rubbed her eyes and laid her head against Beck's shoulder. "I'm tired anyways."

“I don’t think it’s too appropriate to view your sexuality in that kind of manner.”
“Plus, I don’t know if Millie would agree to it.”

Everyone else does. Rebecca might have said it allowed, if it hadn't been such a sore spot for her. Being bisexual had been an issue in the past, most thinking it's just a passing phase, or saying off the wall shit like she was selfish or confused. At times, she almost wished she was just gay or straight. It was easier to explain to people. "I guess we'll find out then..But in the mean time, I can still make you moan my name in that sexy little way that you do." The second half of her sentence was whispered into his ear, the raging hormones of a teenager practically dripping in her words.

“Millie struggles to pay for stuff cause she’s doing a medical degree.”

Their joke had been light hearted and aimed more at Leon than anyone else and Beck's hurried defense of Millie gnawed at Elisa's nerves and her insecurities. She knew she could trust Beck, but his constant defense of her as though he was personally offended, made her feel like it was more than just gratitude he felt for the red head. Knowing that he had slept with her in the past didn't help her feelings either. The thoughts kept rolling around in her head and though she didn't say a word, the ice in her glare was obvious.

"Okay...Do you need a ride home or?"

His lips were warm and soft and she wished the contact with never end, so that they could kiss forever. She wrapped her arms around Beck's waist. "I've got my car here...but walk me out?" She asked, her head laying against his chest in just the right way that she could hear his heart beating. While she had a hard time leaving Jess at home, it was also difficult for her to leave Beck, knowing how much happier she could be in his arms than in her home. At least, with Beck, she could feel safe and like she wasn't totally alone in the world. He brought warmth and happiness to her world, which had previously been cold and lonely.

"I think I'm going to stay here for a bit...I brought my car anyway."

"I think I'll stay with Leon for a while." Rebecca said with a smile, hooking her arm into Leon's and kissing the space between his jaw and neck. "You can take me home later, can't you?" She asked her tattooed partner, her voice shifting to a tone that was more seductive than anything. She wanted to have fun and stay out of her house for a while longer, but she also found herself wanting to spend a little more time with Leon. He was cute and nice and great at sex. She never had to worry about getting hers when she was with him. He was the first guy in a while to not treat her like she was an object, which terrified and enticed her all at once.

"I guess we'll find out then..But in the mean time, I can still make you moan my name in that sexy little way that you do."

Leon actually flushed. She didn't seem to care that other people were in the room, but he did. He wasn't used to this, usually people didn't want to get close to him. Beck over heard what she had said and raised his eyebrows, earning the response of a scowl from the brunette but his friend then sent back a cocky smile as through to praise him. Once nobody was paying attention Leon slid his hands over her backside and leaned in till his lips stroked her earlobe. "Prove it...make me." He whispered.

"I've got my car here...but walk me out?"

"Of course." He said, taking her by the hand in the gentlest way possible before turning to wave at the remaining pair. The blonde then gave his devilish grin which was too wide and over exaggerated. "Have fun~" He sang lightly. Beck and Elisa then left the building and then began to head over to her car, he pulled his arms round her when she shivered. She was always cold. "What do you think of those two? Does it not bother you at all that Bex is fucking Leon? I mean you don't seem too fond of him. And I think...it's kind of not fair that she doesn't know about the exact situation. About who me and him are." He said in a curious tone which seemed to end with a sigh. Even Elisa didn't know everything. Elisa would freak out if she knew everything. Would Bex care? Would she change her mind about their minimalistic relationship? He wasn't sure. Her persona was too odd to draw a realistic conclusion.

"Promise to text me when you get in. To be honest I'm not so happy about you going home alone...after..today." Beck hummed, his head bumping onto her shoulder in a kind of lazy hug. "I don't mean to sound so possessive. I bet I right fuck you off." He laughed lightly.

***

"You can take me home later, can't you?"

The man smiled majesticly, stance strong and confident now as he moved closer to her. "Of course I can. It would be very impolite not to." He told her, now slowly undoing her corset but keeping his pupils fixed with hers. Then he moved to kiss her, rough but incredibly passionate, occasionally moving down to her neck and collar bone. His hands moved to her hips after he had removed the top half of her clothing and he began to push her backwards till they stumbled into a door, pushing it open. It was one of the bedrooms to the flats, where Leon stayed though clearly not permanently. Still his possessions were neat little items and clearly not too cheap for a man of his background. It was kind of odd. "This okay?" He asked her, though the question was vague. Was them having sex okay? The location? The way he was kissing her in more complicated ways than just to start a fuck? He didn't know what he was asking.

He couldn't stop thinking about the fact she had confirmed she was heading home at the end of the night. He desperately wanted her to stay...

"What do you think of those two? Does it not bother you at all that Bex is fucking Leon? I mean you don't seem too fond of him. And I think...it's kind of not fair that she doesn't know about the exact situation. About who me and him are."

"I think, to Bex, Leon is new and exciting and older...And I mean, I guess he's nice to her? She'll get bored or, heaven forbid she might get feelings and freak out, but she'll stop coming around. It's how she works. It's none of my business who she's sleeping with, as long as he isn't hurting her; she's had enough of that, you know?" Elisa said, her tone rather dismissive of the whole situation. She wouldn't be concerned with it for now. It wasn't like Bex to hang onto guys for too long and as long as she wasn't proclaiming her love to him, who he was didn't really matter. Elisa doubted Bex would care if her fuck buddy was in a gang anyway. It wasn't like the girl got involved in their personal lives for anything other than a few hours of fun, as far as Elisa knew.

"Promise to text me when you get in. To be honest I'm not so happy about you going home alone...after..today."

And suddenly, after not thinking about it for a few hours, the small wound - which was only about three inches long, though with the stitches looked more grizzly - began to ache. Her heart skipped a beat and she instinctively wrapped her arms completely around Beck, holding on as if he'd fly away at any moment. "There's nothing I can do about it right now. I gotta go home to Jess."

"I don't mean to sound so possessive. I bet I right fuck you off."

"A lot of things you do infuriate me. That's not one of them." She answered with a smile, brushing one of his blonde strands from his face. Her wrists had gotten frighteningly small, even smaller than the first day he looked at her like she could break. She was almost embarrassed. Before she could pretend nothing was wrong...now? Now she looked sick and tired. She was pretty sure she could die at any moment, but still something pushed her farther and farther away from getting better.

"Of course I can. It would be very impolite not to."
"This okay?"

Every touch set her skin on fire and made her eyes wild with sultry passion. She half expected him to take her right there on the living room floor until he pushed her into the bedroom. She let her hands roam over each muscle, memorizing every dip and pattern. He was kissing her with such intensity and desire that it was unlike anything she had experienced before him. Everyone was lazy, sloppy and smelled like beer and weed. Leon, it seemed, wanted her and not just any bitch that was drunk enough to be up for it. By the time he had managed to squeak out a few words, she had already managed to remove his shirt so that she could experience far more of his toned body. She smiled at his question.

She wasn't sure what he was asking. For permission? Of course he had it, but it was sweet of him to ask. "For you? This is always okay." Her breathing was a little uneven as she spoke and she spoke through kisses she planted along his shoulder, dragging her fingers down his sides.

"I think, to Bex, Leon is new and exciting and older...And I mean, I guess he's nice to her? She'll get bored or, heaven forbid she might get feelings and freak out, but she'll stop coming around. It's how she works. It's none of my business who she's sleeping with, as long as he isn't hurting her; she's had enough of that, you know?"

"Leon fancies her. Like properly." Leon suddenly exclaimed before moving a hand up to his head and running his fingers through his blonde hair. "Well atleast, I think he does. When you have known someone for a long time, sometimes you just know these things. I guess it's just a guess and I don't have any evidence really, but I think he really does." He laughed, though it was a little forced as he was reminded of the idea that Bex was probably not too bothered about him at all. "Enough of guys? Cheating I guess? Bet that sucks. Glad I haven't even had to go through it." He said, clearly getting the wrong end of the stick and making quick assumptions. The man was a little naive when it came to these things, despite every brutal thing he had laid eyes on.

"A lot of things you do infuriate me. That's not one of them."

Beck began to sulk, pouty lips and big eyes complete. "What's that meant to mean!? What do I ever do wrong!" He hissed crossing his arms, but quickly falling out of his act and grinning widely. He stood back to let her close to car door. "So next time I see you we will be off on holiday...how fun~"

***

"For you? This is always okay."

Leon had never worn a more confident smile. Those 6 words meant more to him than the whole earth he walked on. His hands still down her body till he was quickly stripping her down to her underwear, before they ran up and down her thighs till they reached the inside. This seemed a little more firm than last time, a little more rough and fun. Clearly he was more confident as he had learnt from what she liked before and was less nervous about different things. The brunette spent a lot of time on her, which probably pleased him just as much as her returning the favour.

***

They lay there naked, spent and spooning in silence, but a kind of peaceful silence. It had become rather late. He held her close to him, his fingertips lightly running over her hips. "How come you having slept with anyone else?" Leon asked curiously in a hushed tone. The whole time they had laid there he was waiting for her to pull back the sheets, redress herself and to quickly make an exit. At some point it was going to happen and he was going to have to sleep in a cold bed just like every single other night of his pitiful life. Over stepping his line a little the man propped himself up to lean over her, before lowering himself to meet with her lips.

"Leon fancies her. Like properly."

Elisa laughed at his choice terminology. "Does he properly fancy her?" She copied his accent - albeit terribly - with a grin on her face, she snuggled into his side. He was so warm, she wondered what she felt like to him. "If he does...I feel bad for him. I can tell she's into him, but with her that doesn't last long. But she did warn him that she was like that. I don't know. It's weird. Everything about us and our friends...none of it is normal."

The more she thought about it the more she realized her statement was true. The four of them, hell the five if you included Millie, weren't exactly going through the normal things for people their age. Beck and Elisa weren't working for a spot on the homecoming court, they were dealing with gangs and children and eating disorders and drugs. Rebecca wasn't at home studying for a Chemistry final, she was blacking out on alcohol and sleeping around because it was easier than facing what had happened to her. Leon wasn't getting ready to graduate from a University, he was helping his best friend run a gang.

If anything, Millie - from what she had been told - was the most normal out of any of them despite also allying herself with a gang.

"Enough of guys? Cheating I guess? Bet that sucks. Glad I haven't even had to go through it."

"That, among other things. She's been through a lot, even if she acts like she doesn't have a care in the world. Fucked up people kind of come together like magnets, don't they?" Elisa said with a shrug, pulling a pack of cigarettes from the glove compartment in her car. She very rarely smoked in front of him, but lately she had been smoking a lot more than normal. Stress from Malachai and the way it distracted her from her appetite, it helped with all of it. Even if it was just a little.

"So next time I see you we will be off on holiday...how fun~"

She gave him a cheeky grin and shut her car door, lowering the window slightly. "I'm sure it'll be tons of fun." Her tone was flirty and she gave him a wink. Then her expression changed to something more sincere and innocent. "But have fun with your dad, okay? Let me know how it goes?" She smiled and turned the keys to her car. "I love you."

"How come you haven't slept with anyone else?"

For the last few moments, with Leon's gentle touches, Rebecca had let herself fall somewhere between being awake and being asleep. Her hair was no longer put together, now splaying around her head like a halo and her make up was pretty much nonexistent. When she heard his voice she groaned as though she were annoyed, but opened her eyes and smiled, more amused than anything. "You're so good you ruined any experience I could possible have with my list of losers." She teased him. "Besides, you've probably met them all if you crash those parties Elisa and I go to often. They're not exactly the giving type."

Despite all that they had just done together, it was his kiss - simple and so innocent - that made her cheeks burn scarlet. She kissed him back, with her hands laid gently on his chest, but when he pulled away she had a hard time looking him in the eye. "But does it matter? You're having fun with me right? We're both just having fun." She chose instead to look at his chest, marveling at him and wondering what he was doing fooling around with her. He must have heard of her reputation. Every guy wanted to see what she was about and every girl hated her for sleeping with their boyfriends. Oops.

Still, while she could sense that Leon was different, she knew that at their core - all men were the same and it was easier to just give them what they want, than to risk getting hurt physically or mentally.

(After this post I suggest it leads onto the morning of them getting ready to leave for the holiday.)

"Does he properly fancy her?"
"If he does...I feel bad for him. I can tell she's into him, but with her that doesn't last long. But she did warn him that she was like that. I don't know. It's weird. Everything about us and our friends...none of it is normal."

Beck scowled, now sulking and snarling along with his out takes of breath. "Look it's hard to break English habits. You say super dumb stuff too." He hissed but still held a grin. "I feel bad for Leon too though...for a smart guy he can be so dumb." The blonde shrugged.

"That, among other things. She's been through a lot, even if she acts like she doesn't have a care in the world. Fucked up people kind of come together like magnets, don't they?"

"You befriend people you relate to. You shouldn't call yourself fucked up you know... You are just a little..." He didn't know where he was going with this. He wished he had planned what he was going to say before he actually spoke. "Fragile." Beck finished, which was probably the worst word to use.

"I'm sure it'll be tons of fun."
"But have fun with your dad, okay? Let me know how it goes?"
"I love you."

"You seem like you have plans Elisa Grace. They seem interesting." He flirted, kissing her on the jaw just before she shut the car door. "I'll tell you everything, though all my Dad likes to do is paint, so I will only talk to you about painting. How interesting." He rolled his eyes sarcastically, though they both knew that Beck enjoyed art just as much as his Father and so in a way he was just as boring as him. The blonde gave a casual wave in which he just kind of placed his hand in the air.

***

"You're so good you ruined any experience I could possible have with my list of losers."
"Besides, you've probably met them all if you crash those parties Elisa and I go to often. They're not exactly the giving type."

"You flatter me." Leon joked with the softest of grins, clearly very satisfied with her answer. "And I know what you mean, though I guess on first appearances I would fall into the category of that kind of guy though. I don't understand how people can't get that the more you give the more you receive. It's not even like its a pain...it's a pleasure."

The man laughed a little as she pulled away from his kiss now blushing. He found it adorabl-

"But does it matter? You're having fun with me right? We're both just having fun."

Leon moved his arm so he no longer remained propped over her, he just lay flat on his back. It was clear she was reassuring him of what her motives were. There wasn't anything wrong with it and it was never like she had suggested them having anything more but still his heart ached. He then turned away from her and said nothing. He had nothing to say.

The blankets were warm and the presence and smell of her were blissful so he fell to sleep quickly. He wondered if she would leave in the middle of the night or early morning or if she would stay...

"Look it's hard to break English habits. You say super dumb stuff too."

"Don't break them. They're charming and I like them. I just also like giving you a hard time." Elisa said with a grin, before saying her good byes and heading home.

The next week was Hell. Elisa had thrown all of her time into making sure Jess was okay, which meant a lot of late nights. The nanny couldn't figure out why the toddler was suddenly having so many nightmares, she was terrified to sleep. Elisa, feeling guilty, had taken on the responsibility of trying to put her to bed. It wasn't that she minded putting her daughter to bed, that part she rather enjoyed - feeling like she was finally allowed to mother her in some small way. It was the pain she felt every time the little girl woke up screaming or crying, begging to sleep with Elisa because she didn't want the 'mean man' to come back.

Then there was the relentless questioning by the help as to where the stitches on her neck came from, and though no one directly asked if it was self inflicted, many just assumed. It was easier to let them think that too. So when the time came that they could finally go on a vacation, she was more than a little excited...and simultaneously feeling culpable for the sleep she'd be depriving the nanny now, as well as the nightmares Jess would continue to have: though they seemed to have quelled the night before.

Elisa was in the midst of packing, deciding what outfits she would wear...and if a bikini would actually be a good idea in her current state; Beck would surely comment on how many ribs they could count. Maybe she would wear a cute cover up with it while she was on the beach? It was still fashion forward and cute, but hid enough that no one would comment. She threw it into her bag, along with nearly a thousand outfits and shoes. She was so focused, she barely noticed her father standing in the doorway and jumped when she did.

"Oh, hey...dad." She greeted, though it was uncomfortable. She couldn't remember the last time she'd seen him, let alone spoke with him. Her mother was more present than he was and that woman wasn't around much.

"Hello, Elisa. I thought I'd...see how you were doing, I have to leave soon. I know you had another incident a few months ago." He looked and sounded as awkward as she felt. He also looked exhausted. Elisa couldn't blame him, she supposed. She hadn't spoken to him since before she had tried to kill herself and that felt like a lifetime ago.

"I'm fine, daddy." It felt like a lie, but she gave him a half smile to go with it.

"You've lost weight." He didn't sound judgmental, it was more sad and it shocked Elisa a little bit, but again she smiled.

"New diet. Mom will be happy? Anyways, I'm going on a trip with friends. Nowhere glamorous like you're always flying off to, but I'm excited." She quickly changed the subject, looking down at the clothes she was folding and shoving into a suitcase.

"Friends, huh? I didn't know you had any. I'm glad." This time he smiled and walked into the room, picking from the pile she had and began folding with her. "I bought you something while I was in Thailand." So it was Thailand this time.

"Oh yeah?" She was genuinely curious as he reached into his pocket.

He pulled out a bracelet, with colorful beads and leather string. It was cute, though a little big and he had to tie it around her wrist a little tighter than with most. "It's supposed to bring good luck or something like that. Not sure, but I know you had others like it."

She wasn't sure why, but her eyes started to water as she quietly thanked him. They continued to fold in a comfortable silence until his phone went off.

"Well, that's my sign to head to the airport. Love and miss you, Kid." He said, kissing the time of her head and heading out the door.

----

A few hours later Rebecca was banging on Elisa's front door. "Hey, whore! Time to go, the boys are waiting back at the apartments." She yelled, kicking the corner of the welcome mat with her shoe. She had been ready for days, more excited for this trip than she had been for anything in a while. While she was constantly partying and doing what she claimed was fun, she was ready for some change in her routine.

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" Elisa yelled back, the sound muffled by the door. It was a few more moments before her friend finally emerged with her suitcase, looking a little more ready for bed than to go out.

"Damn, did you get wrecked without me last night or did you literally pack all of your clothes and were left with only THAT?" Bex stated, motioning toward her friends outfit.

"I didn't have a lot of time..." She started to argue.

"Well then MAYBE you should have packed up a few days ago. C'mon loser, I can't let you leave the house with me when you're lookin' a mess." And just like that Bex was pulling the skinny girl back up the stairs. It wasn't hard for Rebecca to see how frail her friend had gotten and while she firmly believed that it was none of her business, she couldn't help but worry.

In just a few minutes, Rebecca had pulled Elisa's hair into a fancy slicked back pony tail and turned her outfit into something she considered 'decently attractive.' "There, now you don't look homeless." Bex told her smugly.

"You did in ten minutes, what takes me an hour in a half. I'm pretty sure you've sold your soul." Elisa said, adjusting her shirt.

"Nah, I just like this shit where as you couldn't care less half the time." The brunette said matter-of-factly. "But hey...are you okay, Lis? You've lost a lot of weight recen-"

"-I'm fine, Bex. Just tired." Elisa said, cutting her friend off before she could finish. "What about Leon though? You've been around him a lot lately."

Rebecca wasn't entirely comfortable with the subject change, but she knew that pushing the subject of Elisa's weight probably wouldn't get her anywhere pleasant. "We're just hooking up. He's fun. I like him." She said with a wave of her hand.

"Do you like him? Or do you like him?" Elisa asked, emphasizing the second like.

"He's super sexy and kind of has that bad boy look going for him. I'll keep him around for a bit."

"I mean...I'm not his biggest fan, but he's probably not like him?" As Elisa mentioned a 'him,' Bex's eyes darkened.

"You're lucky you found Beck. Let's leave it at that, okay?" Rebecca's words were undoubtedly annoyed, causing Elisa to back off.

"We better leave. The boys are gonna want to know where we are."

Twenty minutes later they were pulling up to the flats, Rebecca waving happily to the boys. "Sorry it took so long. This genius apparently though waiting until half an hour ago to pack was a good idea."

"I was busy all week. Sorry," Elisa said sheepishly, pulling Beck into a hug.

"You paint the most boring things..." Beck told his father, the canvas in front of him barely touched where as his Dad appeared already half way finished. "You just don't see the beauty in them." He replied. The pair were seated on a field that seemed to be on going forever. They sat on the top of the hill looking down at the area where the thick grass soon turned into overgrown woodland that didn't end till well into the distance. It was green and attractive to look at sure, but Beck had always had a hatred for doing landscapes and sitting out in the cold for hours. Still if he could see his Dad's eyes look more alive than they had for the last year by just sparing some time to keep him company, he would sacrifice it.

"But..." His father continued, picking up the blonde's paint pallet which was filled with all kinds of bizarre colours that didn't fit what he was meant to be copying. What he had done so far was abstract and unrealistic, completely unlike the work beside him. "You twist things to find the beauty in them. You find something wonderful in everything. I wish I was more like you..." He finished, and all Beck could do was smile softly, for there was nothing to say.

~~~
Of course Beck was napping in the bath tub when he had meant to be ready for hours. He had been there for so long that the water had turned cold and toxic amount of bubble bath that he would spill into the tub had just mixed in with the liquid leaving no foam left. Meanwhile Leon was sat ready on the sofa, all neatly packed in one over sized black suitcase. He inhaled at a cigarette generously, occasionally daring a glance over at Beck's clothes that were shoved in a very untidy manner into one crappy travel bag. It overflowed horribly.
"Sorry it took so long. This genius apparently though waiting until half an hour ago to pack was a good idea."
"I was busy all week. Sorry,"
"No worries. Beck is still in the fucking bath. These flats weren't even meant to have baths. He just demanded we had them installed." Leon signed, almost talking to himself in the last part. He pushed open the door with confidence before trailing through the steamy room to the bath and placing a hand on Beck's chest, pushing him under the water. He didn't seem to even acknowledge the fact he was completely naked. The blonde woke up, startled and gasping for air, grabbing for Leon's collar and splattering him with water. Of course the brunette quickly threw his sodden body away from him. "Bastard!" He yelled, but quickly climbed out and pulled a towel around his hips.
"Oh hi. Sorry...sorry. I will be 10 minutes." Beck greeted the girls; quickly pulling Elisa into a cold and wet hug which was probably more unpleasant than lovely. "Heya. How you been? Cute hipster bracelet." He said, holding her thin wrist and examining the newly acquired piece which he would never admit he truly liked the look of. He had always been an observant young man but there was one thing he had forgotten. His face grimaced as he turned to Bex, seemingly freezing as he met with her pupils. The scarred flesh on his back had been exposed while he had been having this short conversation with his girlfriend. It wasn't like big fat angry red letters could go unnoticed. An uncomfortable lump grew in his throat as he turned and headed to a bedroom to get clothed. Someone else had been added to list of people who had seen the state of his skin.
"No worries. Beck is still in the fucking bath. These flats weren't even meant to have baths. He just demanded we had them installed."
"You had this place built?" Elisa raised her eyebrows. She never could have guessed that one of them had money to do such a thing, even if it was in a particularly sketchy side of town. She also never guessed that Beck, of all people, would be a bath person. Though she thought on it for a few seconds, she quickly became distracted by Leon busting the door open to the bathroom and watching him push Beck into the water. She couldn't help but let out a laugh.
"Still sleeping, B?" She asked, trying to keep her eyes above his hips. It became much easier when he pulled her into a sopping wet hug and she groaned. "Couldn't you have wiped yourself dry even a little bit!?" Still, Elisa managed to hug him back, though she shivered when they pulled away. She shot him a look of feigned anger and flicked his arm in retaliation.
"Does Beck always get you this wet in front of company?" Rebecca joked, with a wicked grin on her face, winking at Beck.
"Heya. How you been? Cute hipster bracelet."
"Whatever, ya emo kid. My dad gave it to me." She teased, brushing a wet strand of his long hair from his face. Her dad was noticeably absent from her life for weeks and sometimes months at a time, it was very rare for her to mention him. She saw her mom more often, though Elisa really wished it was the other way around. Her dad may have been oblivious, but he was far kinder and generally more understanding. When she had come home pregnant with Jess, it had been him she told first. It was him who allowed the doctors to hospitalize her when she had tried to kill herself the first time. All the others her mother had simply donated enough money to the hospital to keep out of their business.
It didn't take her long to see the look on Beck's face and followed his gaze to Rebecca, who was inquisitively staring at her boyfriend's naked back.
"Jesus man. Did you count cards in a mob run casino or what? You must have really pissed someone off." It was just like Bex to not filter herself, even if she knew it was probably a sensitive subject. Though she was clearly teasing, her face showed discomfort and perhaps even sympathy. The scars looked like their original wounds had hurt and some part of her knew what it was like to bear a constant reminder of something you'd rather forget, even though her scars probably went unnoticed by most.
Elisa, however, looked mortified. She didn't want the boys to explain the gang because telling Bex meant getting her involved and she would be apart of it all. In some way, she would become a part of their little group and by proxy Beck's gang; just like Elisa had inadvertently done. Despite never officially joining, she knew about them, she hung out at their hide out and she was involved in a gang related rivalry. As much as she would hate to admit it, dating Beck had made Elisa some sick version of a honorary member and she didn't want that for Bex.
"You had this place built?"
"Yeah." Leon said, with nothing added to explain. It was a blunt and abrupt tone of voice that could have been misinterpreted for rudeness. He just wanted to cut the conversation short. It was easier that way.
"Still sleeping, B?"
"Couldn't you have wiped yourself dry even a little bit!?"
"I like baths." He informed her as he pulled away from the embrace, though that point was rather obvious. "They are warm...well it was rather warm. Now I am VERY cold. Leon actually tried to kill me in there." Beck said in a rather child like manner, though it was rather depressing to see him shivering like that. "And we are late so no! Where is Millie? She is meant to be here soon!"
"Does Beck always get you this wet in front of company?"
Beck chuckled lightly raising his eyebrows at her question, though he countered back perfectly. "You should see how wet I get her away from company..." Leon made a sound of sarcastic gipping before returning to puff from his cigarette. That was before conversation drew dark of course.
"Jesus man. Did you count cards in a mob run casino or what? You must have really pissed someone off."
"Something like that..." Beck said in a quiet tone. He didn't sound defensive or angry, he sounded weak. His posture was pathetic. It was like he was reliving every memory from when The Emeralds carved "caught" into his back. You could see it in his eyes. "They were very pissed off." He ended his speech. It was horrible to note the scar from the stab wound on his front too, but that had healed well thanks to Millie's work, where as the slices on his back were made to remain forever. Bex had to be catching on that something dodgy was going on in the group, he just hoped she didn't care enough to pry.
As Beck left to get changed, Millie walked through the door. She wore a simple black crop top, skinny jeans and loosely laced combat boots. Her crimson hair casually flow down her back to her shoulder blades. She appeared less intimidating then usual, but maybe that was just due to the fact she had thrown on some travel journey clothes. "Morning." She greeted, though didn't make any exact eye contact with Elisa.
The woman placed her bag alongside Beck's messy shit pile and though she never communicated with her, she headed in the brunettes direction. Millie placed two fingers under Elisa's chin and proped her head up slightly, examining how her wound was healing upon her throat. "Good..good." She muttered, checking once more before she spotted something from the corner of her eye. "Oh...Is this what Beck has been up to lately? I thought he didn't paint and stuff anymore..." The redhead pointed over to a cluster of scattered art pieces on the counter. Some were the oddly coloured canvas paintings of landscapes he had produced with his father, some were lazy comic like sketches of people including joker along with some seemingly self created characters and last of all a very large messy charcoal sketch of Elisa. It was simplistic and beautiful and you could not fault the likeness, but it was pretty noticeable that he had drawn her at a healthy weight as she lacked the sunken cheeks and edged bones...
"You should see how wet I get her away from company..."
"And we are late so no! Where is Millie? She is meant to be here soon!"
"You both have no chill." Elisa said with a groan, playfully glaring at both Rebecca and Beck. She was still shivering from the water that had transferred from Beck to her, she wiped the drops off her arms and poked at one of his ribs.
"Something like that..."
"They were very pissed off."
While Bex's curiosity burned, his very demeanor told her not to push it. The boy looked like he would fall apart at any second and she regretted commenting at all. Still, she knew something was going on with her new gaggle of friends and she would find out what it was. Secrets didn't stay secrets for long, if life had taught her anything in her eighteen years of life. Part of her was frustrated that her best friend was keeping things from her - the look on Elisa's face had given at least that much away - but she really couldn't blame her. With a boy cutting at Elisa's throat and everyone constantly on edge, it all seemed like a bit much. Even for Rebecca, who found herself in trouble more often than not.
Bex moved closer to Leon and his cigarette, wrapping her arms around his waist. "Let me take a drag?" Her voice was light hearted and flirty, obviously trying to diffuse the tension she had created.
"Good..good."
At first Elisa moved away from Millie's touch, a little surprised and uncomfortable at the tiny examination. "Good morning to you too, buttercup." She grumbled, also avoiding any eye contact with Beck's former fuck buddy. It was awkward, everything about Millie's being there. No matter how much Beck talked the girl up and tried to make her seem like a fabulous, wonderful human being, she couldn't recognize the red head as anything more than a threat. It was pure, unadulterated jealousy; though it was slightly understandable. Most girlfriends didn't have to worry about their boyfriends hook ups going on vacation with them.
"Good morning, Red." Bex greeted, giving her a flirty wave.
"Oh...Is this what Beck has been up to lately? I thought he didn't paint and stuff anymore..."
Rebecca snorted and looked at Elisa. "And he calls you the hipster. I can see him now; at that coffee shop in San Luis, spreading out his canvas over the antique table, black rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose - purely for aesthetic and not sight related reasons - painting his lovely girlfriend in watercolor." The dark haired girl placed her hand over her heart and sighed, dramatically looking off into the distance.
"Paint me like one of your Cali girls, Beck!" She tacked on at the end, her voice obnoxiously mocking the California girl accent.
Elisa bit her lip to stifle a laugh that threatened to escape and she punched her friend in the arm. "Pretty dramatic, Bex. Ever considered acting? Then your bullshit could be on a stage."
"Ouch. Feeling Salty, Elisa?" Rebecca responded, though clearly she wasn't offended. "For real though, it's super awesome. I feel like I'm looking at a future Van Gogh. Or Steve Ditko. Whatever. There's a lot of styles here. Good job, Becky."
Though Elisa listened to Rebecca's typical rambling style of speech, she had turned most of her attention to the drawing Beck had done of her. In it, she looked pretty but so completely different from how she was now. The girl in the sketch was a far cry from the girl standing in front of it. In the back of her mind she wondered if Beck had even known the girl he had drawn. She was sick when they had met and even sicker in the present, but somehow he had captured her as healthy - having never known her to be that way. She turned away from the drawing, knowing that if she stared at it much longer that she might cry; for reasons she wasn't entirely sure of.
"You're amazing Beck." Elisa complimented, mustering a smile.
