There was a time when Elisa had really, truly enjoyed school. She would study, she would hang out with friends, and she had that perfect high school experience. They could have been the "best years of her life," like so many adults claim. Then it all went wrong and she was left alone, remaining that way till even now. She stood at her locker, reading over an essay that was due next period -- though not particularly caring if she came across an error -- and avoiding her classmates like the plague. To the world she was Elisa Grace, that weird girl who rarely spoke a word and was far too skinny. That's not to say she didn't have any friends. She had one; a flirty boy named Beck Hades.

She wasn't particularly close to him, not in a way that anyone else would consider "close." He was simply the only person she didn't panic over talking to and the only person that cared enough to talk to her in the first place. That was enough for her to consider him a friend, or at least the closest thing she had to it, and that was okay. She didn't expect to have friends. She questioned if she wanted them at all. Her life was far to chaotic and if she ever let someone in...She doubted that they'd stay very long.

Of course, with her awkward shyness came a thousand rumors. Some were right, some were wrong, and some were just absurd. She had heard all the speculations that she had an eating disorder, cringed when guesses were made about her having a baby, and laughed when people briefly considered that she was a drug dealer who had been kicked out of her last school for selling on campus. That last one had gotten her a few interested buyers, though they were sorely disappointed when they found out it was just a rumor.

She felt her stomach turn, trying to tell her that she needed to eat. She wouldn't. The feeling of hunger and emptiness was the only thing that gave her satisfaction in her life. She couldn't have friends, she couldn't date or have fun...but she could control what she ate and today she hadn't eaten at all. The emptiness was enough to get her through the day, to remind her that she could control one thing in her life, even if it killed her in the end. She knew that her life had become a pathetic routine of hiding, lying, and avoiding the truth, but as long as she was hungry she didn't care. As long as her stomach screamed and cried for food, she would be okay. She looked up at the clock, realizing that it was almost time to go to her next class. The thought didn't exactly make her happy, but she would rather be in a classroom than in a hall full of kids and no Beck to walk her through them.

Beck Hades

The school seemed more packed than usual, but Beck did not see people, just dull grey and uninteresting figures that he had to push past to get to class. A few turned their heads as he dodged through the crowd, either admiring his rather handsome appearance or hissing bitter comments about his attitude. The blonde did not really enjoy school, the constant lectures could not hook his troubled mind, yet somehow he still ended up with fairly decent grades. His behavior report however, was not quite as good, Beck often bunked classes, got into brawls, and was not afraid to speak his mind.

Then, he saw one girl who most certainly not a grey silhouette.

"Hey sexy! Don't just stand there, you are going to be late..." The blonde youth cried, addressing a brunette with the most nerve shocking emerald green eyes. He moved through the sea of grey towards this one being of light. Elisa looked uncomfortable, but then again it was a familiar sight. Beck kind of felt that it had become his kind of duty to keep checking up on her, at times she just did not seem there with the world. Looking after people was second nature to him though, what with him leading a gang for most of his youth-hood.

At that very thought his mobile vibrated in his left pocket, which made his devilish smile fall into a thin frown. The whole world seemed to fall still at that moment as he tugged it out of his jeans, glaring at the screen before him.

Ben got jumped today, a handful of Emeralds got to him. We just brought him in. He looks pretty rough. -Leon

Beck forced his expression to stay as blank as possible, which looked rather odd anyway since his face was lacking his large Cheshire cat grin. "Fucks sake," He muttered under his breath, pausing for a second, before quickly placing his "Work phone" away with out replying to the text. He wanted to ignore it. He wanted to pretend none of it was his business. He just wanted to be Beck Hades, not the Leader of the Shards.

In comparison, Beck was awfully loud when next Elisa. It was part of the reason people found it so unusual that they were friends at all. If people weren't speculating about her, she did her best to be invisible. Beck got into fights and never had a problem making his thoughts known. While the fighting did concern her, something about him made her feel safe. Like no one could touch her when he was around and for that, she was incredibly grateful. "Well hello to you too, B." Elisa stated in her library-friendly voice, giving him a small smile. She didn't mean to be so terribly quiet when she spoke, but she couldn't bring herself to speak up.

"You know, you never look very amused when that phone of yours goes off." If nothing else, Elisa was observant. She didn't mean to pry and did her best not to ask questions about Beck's personal life (after all, she knew a thing or two about wanting to be private), but this wasn't the first time she had noticed his empty facial expression at a text.

She felt the pangs of hunger again and her barely-there smile left her own face. She knew she would have to eat something at lunch if she wanted to avoid passing out, something that had happened once before, and the thought was incredibly discomforting. The only times Elisa ate were when she wanted to avoid people asking questions. They could discuss her skinny frame all they wanted, as long as they didn't ask her directly. "Oh, by the way, did you finish Hamlet analysis paper? It's due today." She questioned, beginning to walk in the direction of her English class.

Elisa did decently at school. It was the only other aspect of her life she could control. She could control whether or not her grades were high or if they were low. It was up to her and no one else. Sure, the teacher graded her work, but she decided the quality of it. If she wanted an A, she got an A. If she wanted an F, she got an F and everything in between. It gave a sense of comfort to know that there were two things in her life she had complete control over, when everything else in her life was not her own choosing.

She pulled her black sweater closer to herself, feeling slightly cold despite the fact that it was a pretty warm day. There were two reasons she was constantly wearing a jacket or sweater: she never felt warm and she hated the way her body looked. In her own mind, she was disgusting to look at. She frowned slightly.

Beck Hades

Elisa's warm and quiet smile gave him the will to force his lips to curl upwards at the edges. They were a odd pair of friends, maybe somewhat near polar opposites, but for some reason Beck got along with her extremely well. The phrase "Opposite attract" was truthful in this case; the blonde had many favorites who were both similar and different, it just happened the Elisa was somewhere at the top of it.

"You know, you never look very amused when that phone of yours goes off."

His large Adam's apple bobbed uncomfortably in his throat. Beck did not want to exactly explain why that was the case, although he knew that Elisa was satisfied with the simplest of answers. She either did not care, had her own problems, or was afraid of upsetting or angering him. He knew she did not have many friends herself, and so losing Beck would be catastrophic; the thoughts were not rude or patronizing, merely logical. He also wondered if she was worried about him turning aggressive, even though the blonde youth could never act such a way towards Elisa, she had heard rumors about those he had messed up pretty badly when they challenged him.

"Family stuff..." Beck's reply was not exactly false, the Shards were his family, and they most certainly had a good amount of problems. They were his problems, problems that ruined his whole life. Not that Elisa or any of the grey shadows in the school would know about his leadership, he did not even think she or anyone else knew about him having two mobiles. Beck noticed the grim expression on her face and sighed lightly, scuffing his white converse against the carpet. "You know you would suite a smile much more than any dress..."

"Oh, by the way, did you finish Hamlet analysis paper? It's due today."

Beck followed after the the brunette, pausing for a second trying to take in what she had said with out asking for repetition. He forced back on his devilish grin, and morphed his voice into the familiar masculine and jokey tone. "Half of it...I'm sure I can flutter my eye lashes and the old skank will give me till tomorrow to get it in. I'm guessing English is what we have first..." The youth then bent down beside her until his lip tickled her earlobe. "Unless you are leading me into the bathrooms for a quickie..." He swiftly whispered seductively, before letting out a soft laugh.

"Family stuff..."

While Elisa's curiosity did spark, she didn't need to know anymore. Beck's business was Beck's business. If he wanted to confide in her, she'd listen and do the best she could to give advice, but until then it was none of her business. She also knew how much families could suck. Dealing with her parents was miserable. Heaven forbid Elisa from making a mistake or all Hell would break loose, and that had happened too many times before. Sometimes she felt ungrateful, her parents gave her everything she wanted in exchange for the freedom to be herself. It was for this reason, and many others, she was constantly at war with herself.

We he commented about her smiling, she shifted uncomfortably. "We can't smile all the time," She stated with a shrug of her shoulders. Maybe she could smile a little more everyday, but she didn't see the point. There were a lot of things she didn't see the point of. Walking through the halls everyday, hearing people talk about their drunken parties, seeing couples, it all seemed very frivolous. Part of her wished she could be like that, yearning for a day when she could just let herself feel free and uncaring, but that all ended when she was fifteen. Funny, how young people can be when their lives change so completely.

The halls were beginning to clear out, now that classes were getting ready to start. The less people around, the more Elisa felt at ease. Her favorite part of the day was the end when everyone cleared out in the first ten minutes and she could hang around for a few more and just enjoy the silence before she went home to another round of parents screaming and her pretending.

"Unless you are leading me into the bathrooms for a quickie..."

She couldn't help but smirk at that statement and blush at how close he was. "As promising as that sounds, I think I'll have to pass. Maybe tomorrow." She teased, lightly pushing him with one of her frail arms and looking up at him, her green eyes lit up with amusement. She wasn't sure what it was, but something about Beck felt both safe and dangerous. It confused her and no matter how hard she thought about it, she couldn't figure out why. On the outside he seemed like everyone else, a flirty guy who didn't take life too seriously.

She stopped outside the classroom. She really didn't want to go and stared at the door handle like it was made of Satan's excrement. "Do you..." Elisa paused for a moment, considering what she was about to say before continuing with: "I think I'm going to skip class today. You can come with me if you want." She didn't hang out with people outside of school often, if ever. Most of the time she preferred to be alone, lost in thought.

Beck Hades.

"We can't smile all the time,"

I manage to!
Beck wanted to yell, but he understood her statement. Gang life was nothing to smile about, it was dangerous, mentally draining, and something he did not want to be involved with at all. The tone in her voice made the blondes heart sink a little in his chest, he knew she was not exactly happy, he could see it somewhere in the depths of her irises. "You need to find a reason to smile," He muttered, maybe a little quieter than he first intended. He did not even know what he himself meant, so the youth doubted Elisa did. The sea of grey began heading to their classes, and it first off seemed that her and Beck was doing so too.

"As promising as that sounds, I think I'll have to pass. Maybe tomorrow."

He picked up on her lips curling at the edges and her cheeks flushing scarlet, and so the blonde continued teasing. As she went to push him away from her, he grabbed her tiny wrist and held it tight. "You know Elisa Grace, these hands won't be forcing me away one day, they will be clawing at my back..." Beck purred, voice dark and seductive. He lent closer to her, watching her emerald eyes light up, but as they did a frown fell on his own face.

He slackened his grip and felt lightly at her wrist, noting how skeletal and fragile it was, he was afraid if he put anymore pressure on it was simply break. "I..I did not hurt you did I? I feel like you are just going to break in my palms..." He lowered his hazel eyes lowered to the ground.

"I think I'm going to skip class today. You can come with me if you want."

Beck smiled lightly, before speeding up his pace and heading towards the exit. "You might as well have me on a leash," He laughed as he turned around and began walking backwards so he could watch Elisa. "Where are we off to then Captain?" A sudden thought rattled in his mind. He remembered the text. Beck, as the leader, ought to pay his wounded a visit...Later.

You need to find a reason to smile.

Elisa watched Beck for a moment, thinking about his words. They were sweet and made it sound like he was genuinely concerned, but she just shrugged. She felt like there were a million things she could say in response to that, but all of the words were lost. If there was a reason for her to smile, she figured she'd be dead before she found it. Eventually her heart would give out from her disease and that would be it. She would collapse one day and not wake up, and she was oddly comforted by that thought. She chewed on her bottom lip, losing herself to the thought.

At Beck's shameless flirting, she couldn't help but roll her eyes and laugh. She was lucky she didn't take him so seriously, or she would be a bundle of uncomfortable nerves instead of feeling at ease and amused. Then his face fell and so did hers. "What was that you were saying about smiles, B?" She said, giving him half of one. She looked from Beck to her wrist and quickly pulled away, realizing he had noticed how small they had become. It was impossible not to notice, really. Over the last few months she had gone from looking healthy to sickly pretty obviously.

I..I did not hurt you did I? I feel like you are just going to break in my palms...

Her stomach flipped over a few times at this statement. The truth was she was fragile, maybe not that fragile, but his grip would probably leave a bruise. She had barely felt it, so he obviously didn't hurt her. She was just anemic and bruised quite easily due to her diet. Normally she wouldn't think twice about it, not until someone pointed out how breakable she appeared. "I'm stronger than I look, don't worry." Her voice was quiet and her words sounded like lies. Probably because they were.

Where are we off to then Captain?

"I...I really didn't think that far. I just didn't want to go to class," She said, heading towards her car in the parking lot. "Any place you'd like to go? Preferably somewhere that doesn't involve sex in a bathroom." She couldn't help but add that last part after all of his comments. Despite the fact she was still sort of awkward, shy, and quiet, she was glad that she had Beck to be herself around. Even if it was only little glimpses here and there, it made the exhausting facade she put on everyday a little more bearable.

Beck Hades.

Elisa seemed rather panicked by his comments, and honestly he did not blame her. He stepped back, wide eyed, the kind of look a canine would give its owner when it accidentally gave them a nip on the palm. Apologetic and sympathetic. Beck could not quite put his finger on what exactly was wrong with the brunette, but she did not seem mentally or physically healthy. In fact it kept him awake at night. He could not bring such a conversation up anyway, being honest he was afraid she would push him out of her life and lock the door a thousand times. Beck did not want that.

"I'm stronger than I look, don't worry."

Her voice was just as fragile as her, and caused the blonde youth to absently lower his head, refusing eye to eye contact with her. "I did not come across as rude did I? It's just..." He paused for a second, wondering if his next sentence was a little too dangerous and unneeded. Beck stated it anyway. "I worry about you. You know?" He placed a forced kind of "remember that" smile upon his lips.

"I...I really didn't think that far. I just didn't want to go to class,"
"Any place you'd like to go? Preferably somewhere that doesn't involve sex in a bathroom."

"Agreed, a bed does seem nicer..." He laughed, purring in his familiar womanizer tone with his usual shocking hazel eyes. Beck climbed into the passenger seat of the car as though he himself owned it. "I don't know, let go get lunch, see a film or go to yours or mine. I don't mind!" At that point he had pulled out his "Business" mobile again and finally replied to the text from his lieutenant Leon, fingertips tapping lightly at the screen.

I'm coming up to see him soon. Tell him I'm sorry, he should not have to go through this - Beck

"I did not come across as rude did I? It's just...I worry about you. You know?"

Elisa's grip tightened over the steering wheel, her knuckles turning white as she drove. She opted not to reply and she wasn't sure how to in the first place. She wasn't mad at what he said. In fact, she found it sweet. The girl just had no idea how to respond to it and found that it would be best if she just ignored it. People didn't just worry about her. In her own home she was invisible to everyone but Jess. Her parents ignored her and when they weren't doing that, they were screaming at her for something, anything they could think of. All because she had made a mistake, because she wasn't their definition of perfect anymore.

She rolled the window down feeling like she needed some air and quickly brushed her brown hair up into a ponytail at a stoplight. It wasn't often that someone was in her car with her and usually when they were, it was a three year old girl with red curls and a lollipop in her mouth. There was a wallet sized picture of Elisa and Jess hanging from her rear view mirror. It was taken the Easter before things got really bad, before Elisa began to lose herself completely.

"I don't know, let go get lunch, see a film or go to yours or mine. I don't mind!"

"How terribly cliche, I expected a little more originality from you, Beck." Elisa said, teasing. There was absolutely no way he could get her to have lunch or go to the movies with him. The mere thought of having to make an excuse for not ordering a meal was enough to make her feel panicky. "We could go to my house. If you're hungry, I'm sure Alan can cook something for you." Alan being her family's chef who Elisa was pretty sure didn't like her all that much. She figured the fact that she rarely ate his food and when she did most of it got thrown away was pretty insulting. Most days she claimed she had already eaten. At least at her house she could have a slice of watermelon and hope that would keep any questions about her eating habits silenced. If only for a little while.

"Do you have somewhere you need to be? I can drop you off if you want." Elisa said, noting that his phone was out. There wasn't anything unusual about him having it out, it was just the feeling she got in the pit of her stomach when he did. Like there wasn't something right about it.

Beck Hades.

Silence was her only reply, he personality would rather her have yelled or maybe even hit him than such a bland response. He decided that the conversation should not continue on such a topic and snapped his jaws tightly shut. He watched as Elisa placed up her hair, finding it was weirdly mesmerizing; the way her wrist flicked and turned the bobble displayed some kind of feminine elegance, even though it was the simplest action. He looked a little odd, just glaring at her with soft eyes, but he refused to pull his gaze away.

"How terribly cliche, I expected a little more originality from you, Beck."

"Do I really seem like the creative type?" He questioned raising his golden eyebrows. Beck probably could be if he put his heart into it, before he got given his title as leader he was a rather skilled secret artist, not that he told many about that. There was just something relaxing about controlling a pencil to create something beautiful, he never found the thrill in doing that anymore. With a mind so ugly and distorted it was hard to think of anything appealing. Beck also rolled down his window and leaned his head over the ledge, the breeze tossing the long blonde stands this way and that. He looked way too happy with himself...

"We could go to my house. If you're hungry, I'm sure Alan can cook something for you."

He smirked lightly, chin still resting frame and pupils watching the world whiz by in a blur. "Sounds good to me, I'm not one to turn down good food. Alan a friend of yours?" Beck suddenly realized he knew nothing about this girl, her family or her friends. Not the he was one to become shy but it made him shift uncomfortably. Beck did not exactly appear to be the most welcoming of characters.

"Do you have somewhere you need to be? I can drop you off if you want."

"I...I do." The blonde youth muttered, before winding up the window and turning to face his companion. This situation was something he did not want to come across. It was the tiniest step closer to getting Elisa involved in his reality, however he really needed to go. "But for 5 minutes at the most." Beck began to twiddle his thumbs uneasily, eyes lowered and voice quiet. "You could take me there and wait in the car, or we could just go to yours, or...You can get rid of me if you like. I need to see a friend in the Leston flats, I understand if you don't fancy heading down there. Its not exactly pleasant."

"Do I really seem like the creative type?"

"Actually? Yes," Elisa admitted to Beck. "Must be your hair. It has 'moody creative type' written all over it." She teased, giving him a sideways glance. It was a little silly, seeing him look out the open window like an excited dog going to the vet, but for just a minute, it made her smile - really smile, not just some half assed excuse for one that usually graced her face. Alas, as quickly as it came it went and her stoic, almost sad expression, returned. In Elisa's little world, she wasn't allowed to feel happy, not for long. It was her way of punishing herself for being weak, far too weak to stand up for herself.

"Sounds good to me, I'm not one to turn down good food. Alan a friend of yours?"

However, she was entirely amused when Beck asked who Alan was as she had briefly forgotten her parents lifestyle wasn't one that normal, everyday people had. It was easy to do when most of your time was spent by yourself. "Alan is my family's live-in, personal chef. I've heard he makes delicious crepes at three in the morning." Not that she would really know. She had eaten an entire meal of Alan's once or twice since he was employed a year and a half ago. It was good, but one could only judge so much by a pancake and chicken marsala.

"I need to see a friend in the Leston flats, I understand if you don't fancy heading down there. Its not exactly pleasant."

Elisa shrugged, not caring whether or not the area was shady. She tended not to judge or fear an area just for its reputation or the way it looked. Sure, she was use to nice things, but it didn't mean she had to look down her nose at those who weren't. "I'll take you and I'll wait in the car. Take as long as you need, B." It didn't take her too much longer to arrive at the desired destination, all thanks to the GPS system in her car. The area was not the best, Beck hadn't been lying. She definitely felt out of place, but she did her best not to let it get to her. What she did wonder, was why Beck needed to be here in the first place. She didn't think he lived in this area, most of the people at their school wouldn't even come near it. Whatever business he had here, definitely peaked her interest.

"So, uh...come here often?" She questioned, in an awkward I'm-totally-joking-but-genuinely-curious fashion as she pulled into a parking spot. It was ridiculous and awkward and all very Elisa at the same time. She bit down on her lip to keep from laughing at the incredibly lame way she had said it, but that didn't stop it from slipping out just a little.

((Also, my super angsty friends thinks that Jessa should accidentally die in a gang related incident. lmfao. I was like "That would be so sad!" XD))

(Btw just saying, I have no idea about personal chefs. To us if you so much as have a maid, you must be either very rich or work away. And that is the most awful idea ever XD Feel free to follow Beck)
Beck Hades

"Actually? Yes,"
"Must be your hair. It has 'moody creative type' written all over it."

The blonde tossed his head backwards and let out a light laugh, before turning to Elisa and cocking his head in a questioning manner. "Moody creative type eh?" He said, running his fingertips through his gold. Beck admitted to himself that he did look different than most guys, but he never thought he fell into any kind of description. "Are you into the....Moody creative type of men?" He hissed, smirking with glowing sunset eyes at the thin woman in the drivers seat.

"Alan is my family's live-in, personal chef. I've heard he makes delicious crepes at three in the morning."

"Sounds...posh..." He sniggered, but was in fact quite comforted by the idea that Alan could not speak rudely towards him. Beck was kind of looking forward to the chance of going to her place, not only because it was a safe place away from his "truth" but also because he got to spend time with such a angel. No school, no grey shadows, no gang. Just the two of them. Peace. "Heard? Are you not a fan of crepes?"

"I'll take you and I'll wait in the car. Take as long as you need, B."

Beck nodded as he flicked out his phone and gave Leon a call. His expression fell into a serious frown as he picked up, appearing a lot more dangerous than his normal merely devilish appearance. "I'm coming up now...Thank you...Maybe that would be best...Cya." He sighed, before falling back into his seat and glaring out of the window until he saw a brunette exit the entrance. At that point he turned to Elisa, tone rather firm but caring. "Don't follow me. Call me if you need to. Make sure your doors are locked. Alright?" The youth forced a smile. "I won't be long...Promise."

By that time Leon had already reached the car. He was a tough looking young man with a full arm of black ink tattoos and piercing cold eyes, but his smile was completely contrasting and was so very honest and kind. Beck stepped out of the car and greeted his "friend" with a simple and formal head bow. Leon might have been a little bigger than him but for some reason he showed a hell of a lot of submission, of course there was a reason behind this. Beck was always dominant here.

"Hello there," The second male said to Elisa with a soft wave. "Beck's girlfriend? You-" The blonde cut him off sharply, expression blank and agitated. "No. Friend. She does not.. kn.. No. Quiet."

((Lmfao. Elisa's family is very, very extremely wealthy. Also, if you're up for that idea later on in the role play, that's cool. xD I don't mind, Elisa might get a little crazy though! And she just might follow. ;3))

Are you into the....Moody creative type of men?

Elisa laughed, looking over at him. "I'm very into moody creative types of men." She teased, going so far as to give a little wink. The longer she spent in Beck's company, the more she felt like herself and the more she was able to loosen up. She didn't have to be fake in front of him and she didn't have to pretend. At least, for the most part she didn't have to. For a moment, she locked her green eyes on his before looking away with a light pink blush on her cheeks.

"Don't follow me. Call me if you need to. Make sure your doors are locked. Alright?"

"Alright," She said with a frown. Something about the way he spoke to her and the way his face had suddenly changed bothered her, and the man approaching her vehicle made her even more uncomfortable. Despite the stranger's kind smile, she couldn't help but tense in her seat. There was something not right about the entire situation. She looked over at Beck, giving him a questioning look. Sure, Elisa was secretive...but this all seemed a little dangerous, even for her. Out of politeness, she nodded in acknowledgment to the large tattooed man, but her face was void of any emotion.

She briefly thought back to earlier when Beck said he worried about her, because now she was worrying about him. The entire way he carried himself had changed once he got out of the car, like he had become a completely different person in only seconds. That didn't sit well with her and considering the area she was in, she wanted to make sure he was going to be okay. She considered following him into the building, knowing that he would probably be mad if she did. Never in her life had she been a nosy person, she mostly kept to herself, and minded her own damn business. The curiosity gnawed at her as she sat in the front seat of her car, debating with herself.

In the end, against her better judgement, she decided to follow him in. Elisa was pretty good at being sneaky nowadays and didn't think she would get caught, but still...her hands were shaking from the nerves she felt. What if Beck was addicted to drugs? Or a drug dealer? Hell, she barely knew the guy. He could be a double agent, secret assassin, mafia ring leader, and she'd have no idea.

Beck Hades.

The pair headed towards the building, conversation brief but serious and unnerving. Beck mostly just asked questions about the state of Ben and how exactly it happened. By the sounds of it The Emeralds had been waiting to take him down and had individulals watching his daily routine for a while now. It was a warning. A kind of scream stating "Look what we can do! And think about what we will do!" He was lucky not to be stabbed. Beck rubbed his eyes as they entered the large building of grubby flats, earning a few glares from broke mothers and up-to-no-good teens as they stepped by. Everyone in the area knew who they were, and even though they did not have any confirmation that Beck was the "Alpha" of this organisation that met in flat 27 and 28, it was clear him and Leon had a lot to do with it.

"They must have a reason...Right? They must have told Ben before they got him or else the whole thing would be pointless." Beck stated, voice rather unsteady, maybe even fearful. The question just earned a sigh in response from Leon as they reached the top of the stairs. "Do you not realize what they want?..." He spat, maybe a little more aggressively than before. The blonde blinked frantically with tingles running up his spine.

"They want to see my face again. They want to know I have not backed off since they last...caught me, to see the coward they are up against."

Leon pushed open the door to flat 28, which seemed surprisingly quiet compared to normal. The Shards spent a lot of time in their "Base" as they did not exactly have anywhere else to go, but despite being the Leader, he still avoided the area as much as possible. He was pretty sure most of the group had crammed into flat 27 to give Ben some time to rest, and his thoughts were confirmed by the loud racket next door.

The blonde approached his wounded comrade who's body was speckled with large purple bruises and a bloody busted face. Ben was being worked on by a very....suggestive looking young woman named Millie who often helped out with fixing up the gang after their fights. She looked up and gave Beck a smile, but all his attention was focused on the youth upon the bed.

"I am so sorry...This...I should have done something. They want attention...Does it hurt? I know...I have been there..." The so called "king" whispered, skimming the silver lined flesh on his own back with his fingertips. C.a.u.g.h.t...

"They want to see my face again. They want to know I have not backed off since they last...caught me,"

That was the only thing Elisa had managed to hear by the time she had made it up the stairs, though she didn't dare go any farther until both the men had entered the flat. Who had caught him? Why would anyone want to catch him? She knew he was involved in something terrible from that line alone and the thought made her want to run, but that also could have been the weird looks people were giving her...like she didn't belong. Normally people looking wouldn't bother her, but that was at school. She was standing in the middle of the sketchiest building she had ever entered in her life.

Noticing that the door wasn't entirely closed and that there was just enough room for her to see in. Not enough to see everything clearly, but she could make out enough. What she saw was a pretty bloodied up man and Beck saying something to him. She couldn't make out what was said and she wasn't sure if she wanted to. She backed away from the door, her heart pounding. Why weren't they taking that guy to the hospital? What if he needed stitches? Or he had internal bleeding? Or something equally horrible?

She was entirely confused, this didn't seem like a situation Beck - flirty, silly, kind of adorable Beck - would get himself into, but then she thought back to school and the fights and just how much she didn't know him. Elisa stood in the hallway, chewing on her bottom lip, unsure about what to do. Confront him? Or just ignore it and let him have his secrets? The first one could end their friendship. He had specifically told her not to follow him. Specifically. So her only real option was the second one and it wouldn't be too terribly hard, she was good at pretending.

She started to walk away, gripping her sweater close to her as it could keep her hidden. She wished with all her heart she had just stayed in the car. Now she was just confused and concerned for her friend; her only friend. When she finally reached her car, she didn't bother getting inside it. She needed the air and to calm down. She reached inside her pocket for a cigarette. The hunger pangs were back and she was far to shaken up too deal with it. She lit it and breathed in the smoke, feeling it burn in her lungs. Some days, it was the only way she could deal with things.

(Sorry for somewhat late post, been a little busy~)

Beck Hades.

Ben replied with simple answers and half hearted smiles. It was clear he was clearly fond and respective of Beck, but his eyes showed disappointment and maybe even anger at his lack of action. The blonde did not blame him of course, but those looks did not help with the table spoons of guilt he was already feeling. He turned to Leon and nodded, before running his fingers through his hair just like he always did when afraid or panicked.

Then, with rage being his controller, he pushed through the large wooden door that connected flats 27 and 28 to enter to a room filled with both men and women. Smoking, drinking, gambling. They all stopped when their king stepped into the room, pupils fixed upon him and him only. Beck seriously did look rather dangerous at this point, chest pushed out and stance dominating. His expression was cold, a thin line of lips which lacked a smile. He looked like a human being who could lead a gang, maybe even stab a few people. The youth was a excellent actor.

"Listen up." He ordered, but everyone was doing so anyway. You could only hear the thudding hearts of the 17 or so people in the room. Of course this was not the full gang, there were around 30 with the few on the side who helped out just like Millie did. "I think you are all clear of whats happened. I'm pretty sure you are furious at me. I just wanted to tell you I'm doing something about them. I want you all here tomorrow, tell the others. We are holding a meeting..." He paused, swallowing hard.

"If them seeing me again stops getting others hurt I am willing to do it. Thank you."

And with that he headed towards the door to exit, leaving the room stunned by what exactly he had just stated. He walked down the stairs, along the parking lot and back to the car. By that point he already had silent tears rolling down his cheeks; he did not so much as look up at Elisa.

He might as well have just sold his soul.

The first thing Elisa noticed when Beck walked out of the building, was that he was crying. The second was that he refused to look at her. She reached out to him, placing her hand on his. "Beck, are you okay?" Briefly, she considered the idea that the beat up guy had died, but she brushed it off. She figured they would call the police if things got that bad. Seeing Beck so clearly upset made her heart drop in her chest. It was sad to see a grown man cry, and even worse when that grown man happened to be your friend.

A piece of Elisa wanted to just wrap her arms around him in a hug, but she didn't know if that would be okay with him. "You can talk to me, if you want. I don't bite," She gave her the best smile she could, hoping that it might cheer him up a bit and bring back the happy Beck she knew. The entire situation was so foreign to her. Nobody cried at her house that was over the age of three, nobody showed any emotion at all. She was use to everything being so...cold. Her family didn't comfort each other, if they were sad they never showed it.

"Are you still up for my house? I can take you home or to your car or wherever if you'd like," She said with a shrug, preparing for disappointment. The idea of hanging out with Beck made her happy, but if he just wanted to go home - and with his obviously upset state she wouldn't blame him - she would take him. She brushed a stray strand of hair away from her face and looked to the asphalt beneath her feet, then back to her friend.

She had a few hours before Jessa and her nanny would be back at the house, and a few more after that before her parents - might - be home. Some nights they didn't come home at all and were often gone for weeks at a time on business trips, tending to hotels or fashion lines or whatever suited their fancy at the moment. Either way, she really didn't want to be left alone and she didn't want to drop Beck off crying.

"By the way. Totally called it. You are the moody creative type," She hoped that that would at least get him to crack a smile.

Beck Hades.

"Beck, are you okay?"

No they are going to find me and kick the living shit out of me. Do I look alright? Tell me th-...

Beck could feel her cool palm upon his, which caused him to raise his face and lock pupils with Elisa's emerald eyes. He could tell that she clearly was extremely worried about him, which being all too honest felt amazing. He wanted her to care for him, treat him like a child despite his dangerous youth appearance, he wanted her to hold him. She never made the move. The blonde slid his fingers between hers and held it softly; though it was the slightest comfort, it had a huge affect.

"You can talk to me, if you want. I don't bite,"

"And have you run for the hills and never come back? Oh no." Though his sentence seemed rather comical the tone which left his lips was just the same sad little voice that he held before. Her face lit up with a smile and so Beck tried to repay her by wiping the salty water from his cheeks. He wished he dared pull her towards him and scoop her up into a hug, it just seemed right but he felt like maybe Elisa would not appreciate his desires.

"Are you still up for my house? I can take you home or to your car or wherever if you'd like,"

He sighed lightly, still holding her hand loosely, expecting the brunette to pull away at any second. "I would rather go to your place then sit and do nothing at home. That is...If I am welcome? Is it not odd to bring a guy home with you?" Beck questioned, though mostly just to try and tease a comment out about their intertwined hands and comforting.

"By the way. Totally called it. You are the moody creative type,"

He heard her state as he slid into the car on the passenger side, unfortunately having to abandon her hand as he did so. A wide familiar devil of a grin grew on his face as he turned to reply. "I'm pretty sure I look like a ultimate sex bomb to you right now and not the little pussy boy I feel like? Right?" The blonde lightly managed a laugh and leaned back in the seat.

She hadn't expected him to hold her hand like that, but she didn't protest. His hand was warm against her own and she welcomed the feeling. It was a foreign and strange feeling now, but familiar. She thought of Jessa's father, her heart breaking as she reopened that old wound. It seemed like it had happened a lifetime ago, when in reality it had only been a couple of years ago. For a moment she wondered what her life would have been had he not died and if her parents hadn't controlled her so thoroughly.

"And have you run for the hills and never come back? Oh no."

I haven't yet, have I? She thought, thinking about the bloodied man in the room. "We all have secrets, I suppose." Elisa stated quietly. There was no way she would continue to question him, and she figured he'd tell her when and if he wanted to. For the time being, she just prayed he would be okay and that no harm would come to him, like the beaten man. Shouldn't wouldn't be able to bare seeing Beck like that.

"That is...If I am welcome? Is it not odd to bring a guy home with you?"

Elisa had to giggle at that. Was it odd for her to bring a guy home? Absolutely. She hadn't had anyone over in years, she had been much to concerned with being alone and never having a friend. "Beck, it would be odd if I brought anyone home. I'm sure everyone there will think Hell has frozen over." She wasn't entirely sure how they were going to react, though if she had to guess they'd probably just stare with their jaws on the floor. Her parents weren't home and wouldn't be home, if they were...Well, she probably wouldn't be bringing Beck over. They were harsh and critical of everyone, and Elisa refused to put anyone through that.

"I'm pretty sure I look like a ultimate sex bomb to you right now and not the little pussy boy I feel like? Right?"

"Nope. You still look like a pussy." She grinned, teasing him. She was disappointed when they had to get in the car and release each others hands, but she tried not to show it. Her fingers began to feel cold again, longing for the warmth that Beck's hand provided, but instead she put her car in drive and placed them on the steering wheel. The drive to her house wasn't a very long one, though it was in a wildly better neighborhood. When she reached a set of Black metal gates, she had to type in a code to get them to open, and still had to drive up the long driveway, but finally she parked.

Her house was quite large, much larger than one would need for the six people that lived there, and the place - though filled with expensive furnishings - always felt empty. At least it did to Elisa. For Jess, it was the best place in the world to play hide and seek for endless hours.

Beck Hades.

"We all have secrets, I suppose."

Beck nodded lightly before turning to face her and examine her expression. A sarcastic little bastard of a voice muttered in his mind, Well I am a 'undercover' gang leader who does not like his life and would rather die than be in this situation, and now I have to face them and they are more than likely going to find me and beat me till I don't breathe. What about you Elisa Grace? Do you have any dirty little secret? The question was stupid. Clearly she had a blaze of complications behind those emerald eyes of hers, it was not exactly hard to work out but Beck could just not place a finger on what exactly they were.

"Beck, it would be odd if I brought anyone home. I'm sure everyone there will think Hell has frozen over."
"Nope. You still look like a pussy."

The blonde laughed lightly. "I am surprised you don't bring a tone of guys home with you being all too honest. And what did you say I looked like again?" He placed his hands on his head and meowed lightly, lips curled. "Pussy as in kitten? I would make a devilishly handsome kitten..." Beck weirdly spent a good few moments acting adorable and purring at himself in the side mirror. Half totally insane, half adorable.

As they pulled into the driveway, he started to try and tame his behavior. Beck did not exactly look scruffy, in fact he looked extremely well kept but not in the slightest posh. "I stand out like a sore thumb here...I never knew you lived somewhere so nice Elisa..." Though he did feel rather uneasy, his heart was pumping with excitement. A day with Elisa.

The look on Beck's face was was a little bit darker than she had guessed it would be when she mentioned that everyone had secrets. She desperately wished she could figure out his and why he spent his time with sketchy people in a run down flat. Whatever it was, she imagined it was worse than everything she was hiding and the thought made her feel like an ungrateful cretin. She was torturing herself over what would probably look like such a small thing to Beck in comparison to whatever he was hiding. The corners of her mouth turned down in a frown, as she stared up at her house - the place that all her secrets became a very real reality.

And then Beck started purring. There was absolutely no way not to laugh at the sheer absurdity of Beck pretending to be a cat. "You'll get along great with Jacks, I'm sure," Jacks being the family cat and probably the laziest ball of fur on Earth. He ate, he slept, and did little else. If he wanted to snuggle, he'd meow till you picked him up from the spot he was laying in, because walking to you would be far too much effort.

"I stand out like a sore thumb here...I never knew you lived somewhere so nice Elisa..."

"It's not as nice to live here as one would think," Elisa said, tapping her fingernails against the steering well. "But you look fine. Just act like you're better than everyone in the place and you'll fit in wonderfully." She shrugged and left her vehicle, motioning for Beck to follow with a smile on her face. While before she had been worried about Beck coming over, for once she was excited to not feel so alone.

However, she wondered what Alan and Allison would think or even say. She wondered how shocked they would be when Beck came through that door and she prayed that her parents would just show up randomly, like they occasionally did.

(I am so sorry. Been a little ill both mentally and physically. I promise I am okay~)

Beck Hades.

Elisa seemed incredibly uncomfortable and it made his stomach twist and turn with uneasiness. He wondered if it was his own fault, after all he had just returned to her with tears rolling down his cheeks. It was most certainly not something you would see everyday. "I am sorry if I...upset you, in anyway," His voice was soft and gentle, but far to quite for Beck.

"You'll get along great with Jacks, I'm sure,"

"You have a cat...Oh my god." The blonde began to smile uncontrollably. Beck loved cats, like so much that it his heart felt like it was going to rip out of his chest everytime he saw one. "I am going to pet him, and take him home, and carry him everywhere with me in a cardboard box and love him forever-" The conversation continued on like this for far too long than it ever should have.

"It's not as nice to live here as one would think,"

The blonde youth frowned at this comment. He wanted her to have the best life possible, and the fact that she did not like living at home would just add to his list of worry's about "his" Elisa.

"But you look fine. Just act like you're better than everyone in the place and you'll fit in wonderfully."

A grin grew on his face, more due to the fact that he could take advantage of the comment rather than the actual meaning behind it. "When you say fine...Do you mean fine...or okay? Are you chatting me up Elisa? I would not mind crawling into bed with you if that is really what you are begging for," Beck purred seductively before following after the brunette with confident strides. He was seriously looking forward to staying at hers. With Elisa he felt safe, cared for, and significant.

He just seriously hoped she felt the exact same way.

((Oh Gosh. ): I'm sorry to hear that. Take as long as you need!))

"I am going to pet him, and take him home, and carry him everywhere with me in a cardboard box and love him forever"

She listened to him ramble the corner of her lips turned ever so slightly up the entire time. First, she had seen the boy cry and now he was a self admitted cat person. Today had turned out to be an interesting day of learning about Beck, though she felt she was left with more questions about him. "Hey now, Jacks is my cat. I love him too much to give him away, weirdo." She teased.

"I would not mind crawling into bed with you if that is really what you are begging for,"

"Be careful what you wish for, but I don't think I'll be the one begging sweetheart." She turned to give him a wink with her teasing comment, before unlocking the door and walking inside. The place, like the outside, was huge and ridiculously furnished with antiques and other expensive items. From the entryway you could see two staircases on the sides, and in front of them was the living room and kitchen, with large windows that showed the backyard and pool off.

"Is that you Miss Elisa?" A voice called from the kitchen, undoubtedly male and belonged to Alan. Elisa followed the voice to the kitchen and gave a small, polite smile. "Yeah. I brought a friend with me," She said motioning to Beck. Immediately the chef looked over to the boy and crossed his arms, staring at him with mild curiosity and surprise.

"I was beginning to question if you had any friends at all." He said, still studying Beck.

She ignored the comment. "This is Beck."

"I don't think your parents will approve of you bringing boys home."

"I don't think they care what I do."

Alan gave her an uncomfortable look and changed the subject. "I'll make food for you two."

"Just for one, if Beck wants it. I'm not hungry. I ate a big lunch, thanks." The part about lunch was a lie, a lie that Beck would probably catch because he had been with her all day. She was just so use to saying it, that she barely even realized that she had. The older man frowned when she declined to have food made for her, but looked expectantly at Beck, practically begging him to say yes. With Elisa's parents gone, he didn't get to cook much of anything but chicken fingers for Jessa, and he didn't bother hiding the fact he would rather be cooking something a little more gourmet.

Beck Hades.

"Hey now, Jacks is my cat. I love him too much to give him away, weirdo."

A false and sarcastic frown grew upon his lips, his eyes narrowing and pupils refusing to meet with Elisa's. "Maybe Jacks can think for himself...he can CHOOSE who he loves more!" Beck growled as they headed towards the door. He began to feel slightly uneasy again, so he portrayed himself as a contrast to what he was feeling with large shoulders and chin held high.

"Be careful what you wish for, but I don't think I'll be the one begging sweetheart."

Bewildered, the blonde blinked a few times with shock at her wink, response and tone of voice. "Elisa Grace. What has gotten into you?" He laughed lightly before stepping into the house and closing his lips to stop anymore suggestive comments falling past them. His tongue had a habit of creating flirty sentences. Maybe Beck should go see a doctor about it.

The house almost seemed like a castle to the youth; completely stunning and somewhere he did not belong. The place was complete with pool and a monster of a backyard, but seemed to lack the magic dust that made a house some place you could call home. The lack of people could have been the answer, not that Beck was complaining.

"Is that you Miss Elisa?"
"I don't think your parents will approve of you bringing boys home."
"I don't think they care what I do."

"I'd like to think I am not...like what you are thinking, Sir. Well....At least all bark no bite." Beck laughed awkwardly, running his hands through his hair as he studied the chef. He seemed aright, though too formal, but he guessed it was just in the job description.

"Just for one, if Beck wants it. I'm not hungry. I ate a big lunch, thanks."

Bullshit.

His eyes widened to large orbs and he swallowed uneasily, realization, painful ideas and assumptions twirling in his mind. Elisa lied. Elisa always lies. The blonde turned to Alan and nodded slowly, trying to compose himself and hide his thoughts away as the brunette was still in the room. "If you do not mind cooking for me, I would like something. Anything. I am not picky at all..."

Beck decided it would be a good idea to have a word with Alan about Elisa's eating habits at the first chance he had.

(Hallo?)
