Before she could ask further, she saw a woman in a white dress, complaining and screaming at another person in a aristocracy tone of voice about her obvious displeasure at staying at an inn. Watching the scene unfold, she focused more on the woman then anyone else. She was drawn by her elegant apperance, and she wanted to get to know her a lot better once she completed every single one of her duties. She slightly shook her head to focus on the question she wanted to ask Lord Fairfax. "Shall I accompany you? Or shall I bid you farewell?" She asked looking back at him.
After a few minutes of walking down the desolate streets of Vercess the Paladin and the Mage make it the library just as dawn is seen creeping up off of the peaks of the surrounding hills. "That Bard, Seras and The Merc Glen should be on their way if Croaker got past that fifth drink." Fairfax thought to himself. "Should of sent Strauss, but he insisted on coming with us, he loves any excuse to carry the Standard." Fairfax then stops at the bottom of a set stairs that leads into an old Gothic building where the public library is located. "We just need to wait for some people, it shouldn't be long." he said while then taking a seat on a old creaky bench, staring at the large majestic sunrise.
Elsewhere, Croaker was suffering from massive hangover leading a bard that had some use in his lords plans, he was told to find him and a retired solider named Glen Cormag. While he could not find him he put word out to all the taverns in town and even that old geezer Volger to keep his one good eye out for the boy. A few more weeks of playing errand boy and that promotion was his, he kept thinking to himself.
"I called you both here to help find, the lost king of Gallia, as only he has the royal blood to take the empire. Now I know this all may seem sudden, but time is of the essence as while we stand here chatting, the empire has squads out day and night searching for him. And the first place to check should be here where his downfall began, for the plans of the Citadel should tell us where the secret passage ways are located and where he might have ran too." Fairfax explained while walking into the grand lobby, which was entire devoid of people. "As to the reason why specifically you two of course is just as simple, Serafina, you are one of the most powerful wizards in the legion, and Seras, you have contacts or can make some in nearly any city in the world, also I have heard you play good songs on occasion. Plus its always good to keep an eye on any present or ex member of the Dark Poet Brotherhood, no?"
And yet again Fairfax left the group, to peer out a window, without waiting for an answer. "Sorry, the Lord is not usually like this. Its just that he has to play father to his daughter, for she wants to follow in his footsteps. He has men stationed to guard her, but the problem is that no one has ever seen her face cept for the Lord and Lady." Strauss told the party members. He then leans in closer and whispers "They say she is a Aurelia, its Gallian for a rare wizard who can cast any form of magic, which includes Shape-shifting. They say the only people who can tell is the Lord and Lady, and Father Pecro."
As Fairfax left the group again, Seras idly picked a random book off a nearby shelf and turned a few pages, zoning out slightly and only catching a few snippets of what Strauss said. He placed the book back on the shelf and called back over to Fairfax. "So is there anything we should be looking out for? Some defining seal or mark?"

Hmmph, Kate thought. Dad is always making me wear stupid dresses and staying home while he is off fighting demons, going off on epic adventures, and saving damsels in distress, but this time I'm coming with him whether he knows it or not. Hmm, and who are those two that are standing with Tuffy (Strauss) and Dad? The man looks pretty funny but he must be one of dads old army buddys. And that pretty one with the blue hair? Boy is mom going to freak when she hears about that. The only question left for Kate Fairfax was, now where is Sir Winston looking for me from now? as she entered the archives from one of the many open windows on the second story and watched the group from the shadows.
Seras had a slight nagging feeling building, the kind of instinct that comes from a lot of long walks through places that you ought to watch your back lest you get a knife in it. He was quiet sure that someone was watching him, but did not let on that he had sensed their presence. Casually he but his hands on his hips and sighed, checking to make sure Staccato was ready in his belt.
As the group advanced on her position, she slammed her palm on the floor sending a wave of frozen spikes all around her, destroying the tiles and skewing anyone that was around her position. Afterwards when the number of mercs died down, she drew her sword and with a quick swing of her sword, dispatched one of the mercs who tried to stab her from behind. She then proceeded to make her way to the stairs to reach the higher floors. "First things first, regroup with everyone else and kill anyone that gets in my way." While thinking, she dispatched two more mercenaries that got in her way.
Slowly he was driven back. He broke away from the attackers, and ran towards one of the nearby bookshelves. The missing spaces in between the books allowed for excellent footholds as Seras climbed onto the thick wooden furniture. "Hell, I've had worse stages." He said as he stabbed Staccato into the wood. In the same fluid motion he unslung his lute from off his back, and started to strum a deathly cold tune. The surrounded bandits were sapped of their strength and began feeling weak and sluggish. A few had already started to climb up to reach the Bard but lost their grip and fell. Some of the bandits who were standing a bit further away or those with a higher constitution would have resisted the spell.
Sir Winston saw the battle take place from his vantage point in the rafters above. He quickly scanned the the area to see where he might be needed most when he heard young Lady Fairfax scream for help from an area when no mercs were coming from. suspiciously he moved in the rafters towards the noise and was about to jump down when he noticed Fairfax reach the exact same spot. Winston watched from the shadows as of all sudden some people in rather odd looking armor sent Fairfax crashing through the railing and into a hole in the floor below. Outraged, Winston dropped down and started to hack his way through the newcomers to reach his friend. When he made it to the edge all Winston could do was jump down after him, only that some mercs appeared where there used to be the newcomers who preceded to drag him into the fray.
Seras continued kicking and lashing at his climbing attackers when he noticed a familiar blue clad figure reach the second floor landing. If he could manage to hold out for a bit longer the two of them would probably be able to push back their foes.
