Introduction

There was an old legend—very old—that the elders used to tell their grandchildren, about a young boy with bright blue eyes who was able to defeat an army of gooey monsters using nothing more than a large, gaudy key.
But that was a long, long time ago.
Now that he was dead—if he ever even existed—the Darkness had begun to return. “Kingdom Hearts,” as it was called, was destroyed, but the corruption, the sin, lived. Everywhere in Disney, it devoured what was at one time living beings, turning them into tortured, sinful beasts.
Except for them.
They were chosen. Bless’d. They were untouched.
They lived in the only places the darkness just couldn’t reach. Maybe it was because of how they were raised, or where they specifically lived, but this select group… they all dreamt the same dreams.
Dreams of that boy.
Of the traitor.
The maiden.
The magi.
The soldier.
The mirror.
The Good King.
And down into Destati they were dragged, not knowing of the others’ existence in this evil universe. Together, they will be taught under a single, invisible voice, that there is a way to drive the darkness back, and the boy may have even lived.
The Rebellion is starting… which side are you on?

Toggle Rules

1. Don't submit any canon characters. This story takes place over a hundred years after "Kingdom Hearts."
2. Try to be original with your weapon choice. Not everyone has to have a Keyblade.
3. If your character is a hero, have them start out in the room "Destati." They're not supposed to know about the Darkness until then.
4. When fighting an unnamed nemesis alongside someone else, take turns puppeteering the enemy. It's confusing trying to fight yourself.
5. More than anything, have a good time. It's Disney, for goodness sake.
*Creator's note: please write in your character's history just where they're from, so I can make the room for you.

The room was bright, so it caused Maddie some irritation when her large black eyes snapped open. When they finally adjusted, she found herself in a large, acoustic…what seemed like an anteroom or ballroom of some kind. Around her were pitch-black, invisible walls...or were they just very far away? Above her, a skylight that seemed a mile high. Still, the light that poured in around her was as intense as any ordinary, closeby lamp. And what she saw when she looked down was the most peculiar...and the most nostalgically brutal.
A giant, stained-glass platform held her above whatever Limbo-esque dimension this was. The pictures the scattered colors formed vaguely told a story of her homeworld: Wonderland. Many of the town’s most renowned faces stared back or laughed or snarled at her: The old Queen of Hearts, the good Caterpillar, the Queen's rabbit herald and--
She frantically stepped back. Even though, as a picture, he couldn't feel her large boots on his face, she couldn't take any chances. It was her great grandfather Hatter-- just as he appeared in the timeless photographs her family kept in the backroom, before it was too dark to see.
Where was she? Who brought her here?
"Maddison."
She shrieked, startled at this sudden voice that...oddly...didn't make any sounds.
"Do not be afraid. We have not brought you here to harm you."
Was she just imagining these voices? Were they playing tricks on her again? The ones in her head sure knew how to give her a hard time. But this one…seemed friendlier than the others.
She dared to speak with it: "H-have I died?" she stammered.
"No, Maddison, you haven't died. We have brought you to a sanctuary. You are one of the last in our universe to live alongside the Darkness. We need your help."
Well, that escalated quickly. "Why m-me?"
"Your heart is strong."
Her heart was strong? Maddie's head tilted on one ear in confusion, and said: "Is-s that necessary f-for what you need me to help you with-th? Do y-you need it for someth-thing?"
"No, but you do. Your heart is full of a light the Darkness refuse to associate with. You've seen them-- we know you have-- and they avoid you."
"I-indeed they h-have." She stared back at the face of her blood-relative at her feet.
"They took him," said the voice, as if it had eyes to notice her noticing. "They took him and his friends. They took your parents, too."
Oh, the ache that went through her. She was going to be sick—those creatures were so dirty, so horrid. To even consider her fragile parents in one of the bigger one’s disfigured jaws… She looked up in horror: "W-why is this-s happening?"
"They need to feed on those who have any amount of darkness within them. And they'll never be full."
This news struck poor Maddison like a ton of bricks. Her parents hadn't died on their own. And Papa Hatter...
She closed her eyes, and two very large tears rolled off her soft, porcelain face.
"You must avenge them."
"Trust me, I w-want to."
"But you can."
Her eyes opened. "How?"
At that moment, a large, window-like shape materialized in the atmosphere in front of her. Through it, she could see what looked like the old Queen's garden. On a large anvil lay the decapitated corpse of the Seven of Clubs; his back was supporting a gigantic iron axe, nimbly balancing on an angle.
"Find this axe," the voice said, its tone firm; "You will need it to defend yourself."
Maddie swallowed the bit of bile that formed in her throat at the sight of the beheaded card-man. "A-and do what?"
"Fight."
And just like that, the world disappeared into nothingness, and Maddie was stationary in her dusty little bedroom once more.

Maddie sprang right out of bed at that instant. She had been given orders by the voices in her head to find an old weapon in a dead garden and fight off the slimy ruin that took over her province...Have I mentioned we have a problem child on our hands?
She decided it was best to look for some things to keep in case of an emergency. Under her bed, Maddie gathered together her collection of potion bottles: said bottles were of all shapes and sizes, and they each had a tag that hung around their necks, reading "Drink Me." At her nightdesk, she found a bulky tin under the clutter of hatting and sewing equipment that occupied it. She brushed the dust off the lid, and smiled as she was able to make out the words, "Eat Us."
She then went to her dresser-- she certainly wasn't going axe-hunting in her jammies-- and pulled on a beautiful, brightly-colored, collared kneelength dress. Sure, it was flashy and extravegant-- nothing any sane girl would want to get covered in carnage-- but this isn't a sane girl we're describing. On the dress went, tandemed by a pair of pristine-white tights and trioed with enormous black workboots. She tied a dainty orange cloth around her neck, and on her hands, she gently slipped a pair of cloth evening gloves. They were old and ripped from working with them on, but that's just what they were used for. She did have work to do, after all.
Maddie strode over to the mirror and pulled from its frame her large, plaided tophat. Placing it on her head, she didn't bother examining herself; but she did draw a face in the dust that covered the mirror's glass. She clumsily raced down the stairs and out the door. Flinging it wide open, she bellowed: "A-alright, world! COME A-AT ME!"
...As if arranged with perfect comical timing, there was no one to be seen around the insane girl. There was but a feeble Shadow Heartless, and when it saw her it bolted off like a jackrabbit on caffeine. But Maddie knew she had no time to spend asking for attention. She dashed off, making her way to the now overgrown Tulgey Wood; and when she got there, she made no effort to watch out for any Heartless that might've stalked her. But though Heartless are mindless creatures, it'd possibly even scare away a sentient gelatinous evil to hear a shrieking, squawking dandy, flailing her arms about and stomping through the fauna with huge workboots.
After a few minutes of looking, Maddie found exactly what she was searching for. When she was but a toddler, she chased the raggedy but pleasant Cheshire Cat through the Tulgey Forest. She could recall with ease exactly where she chased him to, because it was there he last dematerialized. Maddie further stumbled through the shrubbery, the thorns cutting up her arms and gloves, until she came across a thick-trunked tree that seemed a bit out of place in the wood. She wrapped her fist against the bark-- yes, this was the one. His infamous Short-cut Tree.
Maddie was tall enough to reach the tree’s special lever-branch, and when she pulled it the drop-open door almost knocked her over. She gained her composure and stepped through, ducking her prized tophat under the entrance frame. She stood up, and sighed with grief as she looked around. It was desolate, barren, godforsaken. The once beautiful and pungent rosebushes were now but wilted, rotting cadavers. Detached skulls littered the pathway she forced herself through—some of them even housed tiny Heartless, their little golden eyes glaring up at her. She felt the tears stinging her eyes as the stories her parents would tell her came rushing back into her ears. She was told that this was where they met a goddess of sorts—a beautiful youth with flaxen hair and eyes like lagoons. They told her that this was where they saw her stand up to an army of Heartless, only to have her limbs torn from their sockets in front of them. They said she had a name before she died—“Cel-lia,” she whispered to herself—and it was rumored that that same maiden could even have been the child of one of the Sacred Princesses of Heart.
But that didn’t matter now. Maddie climbed through the broken walls of the castle and found what she had come for. It was enormous— the black metal that held its frame looked incredibly cumbersome, and the ugly Old Queen’s face grimaced at her at the base of the hilt. The blood from the poor soldier’s neck clung to the blade like a needy child, even though the Clubs-man himself was now but a skeleton. She gripped the handle—it was freezing cold—focused her breath and attempted to lift the gargantuan weapon. It took her a few minutes to get it on her shoulder, and a few minutes more to make it comfortable for her to hold, but she eventually decided that dragging the huge blade would be easiest for her lanky frame.
She trudged back to the door in the tree, feeling accomplished in finding what the omniscient voice in her head told her to. As she reached the door, a small Black Fungus silently hopped into her view. A smirk painted Maddie’s face, contrary to what might have been a look of horror sometime before.
“Y-you don’t sc-care me anymore,” she told it proudly. She clumsily raised her new weapon and let it fall with an earth-shaking ‘thud’ through the tiny creature’s body. It left no trace of a murder when she got the giant axe back on her shoulder—in fact, it completely disappeared. With a mischievous giggle, she pulled the hulking object through the exit, and made her way back home.

"FIRE!" The roar of cannons and the bellows of cannoneers shook the frame of the huge, metal ship. Hundreds of ravens were shook loose from their formations as the seventy cannons fired, but slowly made their way back to their positions under the ships belly. Hawk watched with serious eyes as the barrage of metal flew through the sky and smashed into the below village. Rebels ran this way and that, trying to get a hold of some sort of weapon to fight back. They attempted to launch cannons of their own, but the storm was tearing their artillery to pieces. Hawk's staff, the evil artifact Aerias, was spawning air currents and storms to rip the ground forces into oblivion. "Ready on my mark for the next barrage!" yelled Hawk from atop his perch, and waited for the cannons to be in the ready position. "Steady... FIRE!" Again, the cannons fired off, and the remaining buildings fell to pieces.

Hawk stepped down from the perch area, and walked to the center of the ship. Walking between his soldiers as they feverishly prepared for landing, Hawk gave the word. As the ship approached land, the men jumped off, allowing the dark birds to lower them to the ground unharmehey charged in and began killing and capturing the children rebels, dragging corpses and injured to make sure they could finish the job. Hawk eyed his work: zero casualties and injuries for his men. Another destructive victory, that would even further his influence in the pirate world. But now was not the time to worry about plundering and pillaging. Now was a time for serious business.

Hawk could hear the laughter initially, before he could see the being who had been the cause of the laughter. When he and his men approached a cave, he found it. It was one of them: The Heartless. The one his master sent him to retrieve for his crew. They called it... Carrion. It was a massive, flying creature. Huge by proportion, it was pitch-black, allowing only a black misty substance to slowly drip off of it like steam and blood. It's three heads; the head of a raven, the head of a vulture, and the head of a hawk, had six eyes each. The raven's head carried red eyes, the vulture's head had green eyes, and the hawk's eyes were blue. Carrion chuckled some more, and finally said, "So.... this... is who.... they send me... You are... called Hawk... Yes?"

"Yes. I am. And you are Carrion, I presume? You are quite the magnificent creature."

Carrion grins on each head. "I... am flattered... now is... no time for... pleasantries. Now... release me... from this... world. Take... my soul... of Heartlessness... and your... contract... begins..." Hawk cocks his head slightly.

"Very well, Carrion. You and I shall become one, and rule the skies for the Darkness. What shall the heroes have hope for in the light, when the sun is blocked when in my presence?" As he said this, Hawk slowly walked into Carrion's body, melding himself into it's Heartless energy. To his crewmates, it looked as if Carrion slowly collapsed inwards, and ended in Hawk's eyes. They could see that, when he opened his eyes and Carrion was gone, his eyes had turned black, with blue glowing energy as his pupil. His eyes have changed to look similar to, ironically, a hawk's. "Men... soon... We shall go to war. Not just here in Neverland... No, no, we shall war with other worlds. And when that comes, we shall be willing to destroy. It's time that we got a place in this war, gentlemen..." His crew screamed and bellowed with great barbaric tones, ready to go out right now and destroy any in their paths.

Hawk was about to leave the cage Carrion had been in, when he noticed something. He noticed a weapon, floating behind him, with dark clouds hanging around it as it floated their. It was a Keyblade. "Ahh... the weapon... I must keep this away from those who would kill us with it. Apparently, the hero with the least connection with their sanity is to try and take this blade from me and use it's powers... Well, they shall not have it."

Hawk used his staff to launch the Dark Cloud Keyblade to his ship, were it lodged deep into the mast of his ship; the power supply.

"Men! We set sail! We shall receive orders when-"

"You... will receive... orders... now, Hawk..." A voice rang in slow, heavy tone through his head. It was that of Carrion. "Go now... you must go... to the... world known... as Traverse Town... where the... humans... and other there... have rebuilt... from our last... invasion. Go... again... leave the... message."

"Men!" Hawk yelled, "We go now, activate the shields for the ship. We go to the place where it all began before: To the place known as Traverse Town!" His men yelled and roared. They lit signal fires, and other air ships slowly began to rise behind them in the horizon. Many ships. "Oh yes..." said Hawk, "this will be a bloody dawn indeed."

The lights of Traverse Town glowed like twinkling stars upon a barren, black canvas. As the ship approached closer, Hawk could see the buildings take shape and even the green grass in the yards of unsuspecting civilians. Yes, these humans, these souls that had even a little Darkness in them, they would make up the army of the Heartless. Already his crew has been transformed; Heartless that were big, strong as they were as humans, but faster and devilish. They still wore the rags of their buccaneer days, but they were torn and leaking the black ooze that they were made from. Hawk couldn't be happier. His men were as loyal as they come, and would be able to be reborn by Hawk's hand, after a while after their sacrifices.

"Men... it is time. Lower cannons. Soon... we bombard, and then... we shall board. Make them like you, my soldiers; make them perfect. Make them Heartless."

Cannons went ablaze and shook the entire ship, as well as the horde of black birds surrounding the ship itself. Black, gooey shells flew down to the town, and they smashed into buildings and the ground, leaving gooey black ooze in their craters... The first of the imbecile's on ground had approached the black ooze, thinking it was some sort of meteor or space oddity that had landed, seeing as how the ship was invisible under the protection of the birds in the black knight sky. And as the first civilian got too close to the crash site of the first shot, in Traverse Town square... a small pair of eyes opened and blinked at him. He backed up in shock, but it was too late. The little Shadow flew out at him, and killed him instantly, turning his former body's heart into another Shadow. This process of turning the humans and other inhabitants of the Town lasted for hours. By then, Hawk had landed and allowed his own crew to go corrupt the inhabitants, turning them into even larger beings, such as Guard Armor's and Soldier's. The Heartless ran rampant. And Hawk watched. Grinning.

Once the transformation period had ended, the Heartless had dragged any that were too pure, that they could catch, back to Hawk. Hawk, smiling, said "So... these are the ones of Traverse Town who could not be evil. None of you look like the ones I am to fight, though... So, you will be thrown to the brig. You best hope that someone finds you soon, because soon enough... In the special cages I've rigged for you... the Darkness will consume your hearts. Trust me on this." Hawk turned, and walked to his chamber. The small Shadow's took care of the prisoners, while the Neoshadow's and Guard Armor's decided to go back out to search. Soon, the Shadow's met up with them, and they patrolled the streets, never speaking a word. Hawk's buccaneers stayed aboard to protect, and stayed aboard to talk. As Hawk's personal minions, they still have the ability to make speech, even if it is distorted by the Darkness, and even if they could read each others minds.

Hawk was looking out of his back window when... he saw it. The sky, illuminated momentarily... And then a starship of some sort... landing down. The engine itself killed all of the Shadow's standing nearby. The ship set out it's landing gear, and switched off. Hawk waited to see who would dare reach his newly found domain...

Maddie was in a better mood than she had been than in a long time. For once, she was able to stand up for herself against that insidious pollution-- and she did a damn good job in protecting herself! It'd been a while since she'd made it to the mouth of the Tulgey Wood once more, and the goo around the province was starting to recede. The Caterpillar's tiny hut was preserved by the mess, and now it was once again free of it. The Hearts palace still needed some polishing off, but Maddie knew she couldn't trust herself attempting masonry. Her Papa Hatter's beloved tea-table was once again free and clear of the evil ruin that possessed the teapots and butter-slabs when she first arrived. Wonderland was looking like its beautiful self again.
The insane teen made her way to the White Rabbit's old cottage. She analyzed the shape and size of the little door before her-- much too small for her gigantic beheader. So, she set it down beside the outside wall, got on her hands and knees and crawled inside. When she squeezed in, the first thing that caught her attention was a wailing cry for help, coming from the upstairs level: "Hello? H-Hello?! I hear someone! Oh, dear Heaven, please don't be another nightmare..."
That wasn't...was it? Maddie replied to the desperate call: "N-no, sir, it's n-not a nightm-mare. I am b-but a h-hatter's daughter."
"The Hatter's Young! Oh, thank gracious! Do come close, girl, I need your assistance!"
Maddie sprung to her feet and stomped her way up the staircase. Maybe a saner mind would've stopped and thought about whether or not this was a trap, but Maddie herself was quite certain that the Heartless didn't make any sounds, and this creature-- whomever it was-- was audible. She poked her head up the side of the railing: "Hel-llo?"
Inside, the Doorknob was struggling under what appeared to be a viscous black spiderweb; from it, Pot-Spiders were leaping from it, as well as mimicking the pottery the Rabbit kept on shelves in the room.
"Help! Oh, dear child, help me!"
Maddie was almost knocked off her clunky boots from the startling she just withstood. They were everywhere! She had to think of something, and fast-- after all, she promised that voice in her head that she would defend her home. She started to hyperventilate: "Um...u-uh...um..."
That stuttered utterances were all it took to catch the eyes of the Pot-Spiders; they veered their glowing peepers at the hatted young lady and started to skitter towards her.
Maddie gasped at this heart-racing sight and started to run back down the stairs, ignoring the calls from the Doorknob: "What the-- hey! Don't just leave me here with these monsters!" She burst through the front door and leaned against it, trying to make sure that no amount of Darkness could get through. She could feel the arachnid-like nightmares piling up their force against the other side. She began praying frantically in her head, looking around worriedly for something that could help, or in the least, stall her.
And then her eyes shot back to the axe. "...O-oh yeh..."
Within minutes, the swarm of Pot-Spiders were mutilated under the great blade; the ones who just spawned began to flee the house when they saw that maddening face of the glee-stricken looney. The muted hissing and clanking of ceramic finally ceased.
Maddie dropped the iron with a 'clunk' and dared once again to enter the house: it was a mess now, the Heartless carelessly knocking over anything that looked valuable in their scavenge for hearts. "M-Mr. Doorknob?" she started, faintly.
"Yes, little Mad One, I'm still intact." Thank goodness-- a reply. Maddie followed the voice eagerly and approached the talking brass knob.
She took a knee before him; "Doorkn-knob, thank golly you're ok-kay." She instinctfully pulled the webs from his face. "I had no id-dea anyone was st-till conscious here b-besides myself."
"I thought the very same, dear. You needn't worry about a heart being taken from me-- I haven't one." The Doorknob let out a faint chuckle. "And thank you ever so for releasing me from this infernal goo."
"Don't m-mention it, sir." A little while passed-- the girl lost herself in thought, and the knob decided it was just best to patiently wait for her to snap back into reality. He had met her family before... Oy vey.
"Wh-where do you l-lead to?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?"
"I w-would, sir. I w-wanna get help to reb-build our world, n-n'if you lead to anyw-where that I can g-g-get help from--"
"Look in the glovebox."
"S-sir?"
"That glovebox, over there." The Doorknob nodded to a small, rose-colored box on the dusty old floor. Maddie obediently picked it up and opened it. Inside was a small, rusted but beautiful key. Along its neck were beautiful inscriptions engraved into it, and hanging gracefully from its eye was a small chain which resembled a cartoonish version of a mouse's head.
The Doorknob's keyhole twisted into a deformed but comforting smile. "That key can get you out of here. You deserve better than this ruin, Maddison. I'll survive here, but you won't last much longer." At that, he opened his "mouth" wide, as an offer to take the key.
Maddie could only stare at the key. "I have to br-bring my--"
"Just knock down the walls."
"P-pardon?"
"The houses don't matter anymore. All that matters is that you get out of here alive."
Her gray face became a soft red. Finally, she smiled and nodded, confirming with herself: "I w-won't let us d-down."
"We know you won't, Mad One."
Maddie stood up at once, and bolted out the door. She carefully lifted the powerful weapon, and with one strong swing knocked a gaping hole in the wall of the cottage. She eased her way through it and ascended the stairs. Then she took the Doorknob's gift and shoved it into his mouth-like keyhole. She turned it easily, grabbed his nose-knob and yanked the door open.
Inside was a beautiful, euphoric bright light. The girl slowly entered with an uncontainable anticipation...

Kojiro felt the sensation of wind brushing over his face, he could hear the wind whistling in his ears as he slowly opened his eyes. Everything was just a blurry green at first but as things came into focused and cleared up he could see far below him was massive field, it was so far down that the many multicolored flowers that littered it's surface were mere specs of color that grew ever visible, it didn't take long for him to realize that he was plummeting to his death. His eyes widened as the panic began to set in but the high altitude and wind velocity made extremely difficult, if not impossible to hyperventilate. After a full ten minutes of wailing while checking frantically all over his body for a cord to pull that would release a parachute and allow him to float safely to the ground, in that relatively short time of pure panic he exhausted himself, the ground had grown much closer now and it seemed as though he was falling faster than a normal person would. He'd seen plenty of videos of sky divers falling through the sky and it always seemed like their falls took much longer even without the chutes, he brushed the thought aside after concluding that they were always falling as fast as he was it just never appears that way on camera. Too tired now for more panicking he decided to just accept his fate, taking solace in the fact that falling as fast as he was he would certainly be killed by the impact instantly, his doom was so close now he began to simply count down in his head starting from 60, he was now at 10..

5..the smell of budding flowers filled his nose briefly

At that moment his eyes shot open and he began hyperventilating as he looked around his room, he lay in his bed wearing just a pair of gym shorts and his covers were on the floor next to his bed, it was just a dream " no way that was just a dream..it was so real " he muttered to himself while he lay there in the quiet dark. His heart was racing so fast and he could hardly believe it was only a dream, yet he was filled with an overwhelming relief. Even if it was only a dream he could certainly remember that feeling, the indescribable feeling one gets when they know they are about to die. Thinking the worst was over he attempted to slide out of bed to get himself a glass of water but found that he literally couldn't move a muscle from the neck down, just that quickly panic began to wash over him once more as he looked down at his ankles and saw several shadowy hands begin to creep along his body up to his chest. The closer to his head they got the more his body was consumed by a blackness.

" Mom! Mom help me! “

he cried out helplessly but she never came, he struggled and struggled to make his body move but it just wouldn't listen, soon the darkness spread all the way up and over his face. Everything around him began to blacken as the darkness crept over his eyes, it wasn't long before he found that he couldn't even call for help anymore, it felt like he was simply floating in an empty dark space now. " this can't be real, it can't be real " He thought to himself repeatedly with his eyes shut tight as he attempted to wake himself, to no avail.

The hunger of darkness is insatiable, it consumes any and all within it's path relentlessly said a soothingly deep, disembodied voice.

Kojiro's eyes shot open when he heard the voice and he jerked his head left and right searching for signs of life, it was no use though, it was exactly the same as having his eyes shut tight. He couldn't even call out to find whoever it is that spoke those words, and he desperately wanted to escape the sea of darkness he now drifted in.

But, were there is even a speck of light, there is hope

The moment those words were uttered he could see a speck of light grow out of the darkness in the distance, like a light at the end of a tunnel, and suddenly it felt as if he was standing on solid ground. Without a moment’s hesitation he bolted right for the light, the closer he got the more luminous until finally..He broke through it. Once again he awoke with a start in his bed under the covers, only this time he flailed his arms and kicked until the covers were thrown off and he jumped out of the bed fully dressed, for some odd reason. " Am I going crazy or what? " he asked himself, certain that his extended nightmare was actually over this time. Unfortunately this was not the case, his waking nightmare was only just beginning. He thought he could hear screams coming from outside and sauntered to his window, took a look outside and what he saw he almost couldn't comprehend, there were creatures of pure blackness of all shapes and sizes with pure yellow eyes running amok and attacking the townsfolk. This time there was no panic, whatever was going on he was going to take charge instead, and he immediately headed for the living room hoping he would find his mother still at home. When he found that she wasn't there he headed right for the kitchen but when he rounded the corner and opened the door that led into the kitchen he froze, there standing just a couple feet high was one of the smaller yellow eyed creatures, he saw no body so he hoped his mother was still in her room safe and asleep. The creature was clearly preparing to launch itself right at him and Kojiro made a split second decision, run, he took off through the house and out his back door that led into an ally, grabbing his baseball bat on his way out. Sprinting as hard as he could he hoped the monster would follow him away from his mom and when he looked back sure enough the monster was hot on his trail.

The allies of this town were like mazes and normally he could navigate them no sweat, but under the pressure he was hardly paying any attention to which direction he went and in just a few turns he found himself at an dead end. He cursed silently and turned to try and take a different path but as he did the creature came to stand in his path, the adrenalin the drove him this far without stopping for a moments rest had left his body now, his breathing got as heavy as a smokers and he could feel how worn out his arms and legs were. Right about now he was wishing he exorcised more than he did. Still he knew he had to fight to survive, as small as the creature was he was certain it was just as deadly as the bigger ones he saw from his window. Just as it did before the creature readied itself to launch and Kojiro readied himself s well, taking a batter's stance with perfect form, whatever this thing was he was sure it couldn't take a blow to the head from a steel bat. It sprang forward through the air at Kojiro, he swung and sure enough it hit it's mark, the creature went hurtling back through the air and landed " On its feet? How?! That was a direct hit " he exclaimed, dumbfounded. Not only did it take the hit no problem, but it looked like Kojiro managed to anger the little beast , it's eyes flashed red for a moment as it began to grow until it was about the same size as Kojiro. It kept its original shape though, just bigger and slightly slimmer, Kojiro shut his eyes tight and backed up against the wall. At the sight of this what little bravery he had managed was gone, once again he was facing certain death only this time it was real and he knew it. the creature growled even though it lacked a mouth to do so and readied itself to charge right at Kojiro to finish him off.

With his eyes shut tight he began to hear that voice again " The hunger of darkness is insatiable, it consumes any and all within it's path relentlessly" even though the words were grim ones that only added to the dreadful feeling of certain death, it also returned the will to fight to him.

" If I'm gunna die anyways " He said as he brandished his bat and readied himself to charge as well " Might as well go down swinging " Just as he said this the creature charged, and so did he.

Just as he was bringing his bat down towards the head of the creature and it's claws were inches away from the place on his chest were his heart would be, he heard that familiar voice once again "But, were there is even a speck of light, there is hope" and in that moment a blinding light came from his hands that clenched his bat, and instead of feeling it crack against the skull of the creature it went right through it causing the creature to explode in a puff of purplish black smoke, were it once stood there was only a heart remaining that floated into the sky. However, Kojiro was too memorized by what allowed him to vaporize the creature the way he did, to notice. In his right hand instead of a scratched up steel bat there was what looked to him like a giant key, not just a key but a key blade.

“W-what...is this? “ he asked himself as he stood there memorized by the mysterious weapon. Little did he know that it was ,in fact, just the beginning.

When Maddie could finally see from the blinding but sacred light, she found herself in front of another door; said door was much taller than the endless tunnel of nothingness she had been crawling through for a good ten minutes, so she was relieved when she saw she could stand up straight. She got to her feet, brushed off her lovely dress, and grabbed the entrance's knob-- which, surprisingly to her, was faceless. She turned it and pulled...
A light, faint song filled the air; it sounded folkish, yet jazzy, and was being led by a clarinet. It was wonderful to the girl-- exactly how long had it been since she had heard music? She stepped through the opening and found herself in a beautiful, sepia-splotched little town. The sky that hung above was starred, the buildings were all lit with with bulbs of color, and the stone that framed these buildings, as well as cobbled the ground, were free and clean of any malevolent sludge.
...Oh, no, wait. There they were!
Maddie's heart jumped into her throat when she spotted the masses of Heartless filling the avenues. It was so disturbing to see that they had followed her into this new, initially peaceful plane-- even moreso when she had heard the music had not stopped, had not changed. But she held her ground, and grabbed her gigantic battle-ax from behind the door. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and charged.
Ax flailing, she looked like a broken spinning top, her dress picking up wind beneath it. It could be assumed that, from atop a building, she would've appeared as a colorful hurricane, with her prized tophat taking the role of its eye. The beastly Heartless scratched at Maddie's arms and legs, and gnawed tears into the lace of her dress and tie. Eventually, though, she was able to beat them off and reduce them to nothing more than harmless black goo.
She watched the ruin vanish into plumes of violet steam, and then turned her attention to her own senses. The happy yet misguiding music was no longer being drowned out by the clanking and swiping of her ax and the cries of anger and pain she was letting loose. She was able to see the street again, and she found herself able to stand up straight once more. The ax felt much heavier in motion, its field of gravity dragging her arms to wherever its great blade led.
She looked around for a sign of life-- a merchant, or perhaps the little band that was causing that pleasant music. Her eyes finally caught the sign that hung above herself. She had to step back to examine it: on a weather-battered wooden board, she could make out the words, 'Traverse Town.'
"T-Traverse Town, eh? Sounds h-homey," she quietly monologued. With no hesitation she decided to walk the streets, furthering her search for someone-- anyone-- that she could aid, or could aid her, or whatever. Every street she looked down, the gentle music followed; and every street she looked down, the savage shadow-creatures tried to stop her in her tracks. She was getting beaten something fierce-- by the fourth or fifth block, she could've sworn her wrist was broken-- but she had to keep moving. She had to avenge Wonderland, her parents...and Papa Hatter.
It wasn't long after she had taken a turn down an avenue she was nowhere near when she at last began to hear voices. They sounded angry, mischievous, and none-too-nice overall. But they were certainly voices-- voices she couldn't make out but forced herself to inquire in. As she ran down the narrow streets, enormous weapon cutting up the walkways, something inhuman caught her eye. At once she stopped, the weight of the ax pushing her arm forward. She must have caught the last of the happening, because after a second, it was gone. From what she saw, it looked like something disappearing: a figure the size of any person, dematerializing into flakes of box-shaped light. Could it have been another person being brought to that world in her dreams from the other night?
...Wait, was that not a dream?!
Maddie waited in silence. It was only the wind that had brought her back into the saner world about a minute later. She decided once more to approach that aforementioned crowd of noises-- if they were good, then she could join them, and possibly even be able to ask for help or directions. If they were evil, though...
She had to think about this. If they did turn out to be ne'er-do-wells, she would have to fight them, or at least avoid them. It was then that she realized she had to keep her face hidden either way. She took her orange necktie off her neck and tied it around her face, just under her eyes. The sweat and humid air made it a bit more difficult to breathe, but Maddie made certain that this wasn't her problem. She then took off her hat, though it pained her to, collapsed it from the top and shoved it into the sash of her dress. There-- her identity was safe for now. Again, she picked up her ax, and again, she hurried to the source of the racket.

"That's no starship..." Hawk was mistaken. It was just a light. But a blinding light, that appeared to come from... A door? A Keyhole? What was it... "I must find out what that light was. Raven! Vulture!" As he yelled these commands, two humanoid-bird hybrid Heartless flew down from the masts of his ship. They were bulky like sailors, but had dark, gooey feathers down their arms. They had beaks that were shaped according to their names: Raven's was shorter and curved down, Vulture's was longer and had a pointed forward beak. "Go find the one who just entered this world. They may have discovered a form of travel I have never seen before..." The two birds nodded, and flew down the street towards where the light had shone. They flew low to the ground, appearing to almost glide across it.

"Hmph... This day shall be interesting." Hawk turned sharply, to try and see the one who had spoken so close to his ear. Instead, he saw a person standing far off, wearing a dark over-coat and a dark hood over their head. "Well, well, well... Hawk. You seem to be quite the troubled man..." Hawk could hear a small chuckle at his own expense by the man in the hood, as he slowly dissipated.

"What the bloody hell is going on here?" Hawk demanded. His crew went silent. All of their dead looking, Heartless eyes staring at him. "Find that man! I want him here, now!" Many of the Heartless instantly turned and went for the search, while the remainders stayed to guard the ship and Captain.

Meanwhile, Raven and Vulture had split up. They had each gone down different paths, and were searching. When suddenly, Raven had come close to where they began their search; and he found a young girl. She was strangely dressed... She had a scarf or some sort of cloth over her face. And an ax. A huge ax. She had seemed to put something circular away in her sash, and she began to move forward. This is where Raven would act. He swooped down in front of her to try and stop her in her tracks, and whether she stopped or not did not occur to Raven, for he swooped down again and attempted a grab at the circular object in her sash. She seemingly dodged, and he flew to the side, and landed in her path. Standing from toe to head, he appeared about six feet tall, even though his hunched back would make him about nine feet tall if he were to stand straight up. His lifeless eyes didn't blink, and as he pivoted his head at an angle to look at her, he screeched an evil sounding screech.

Vulture had been searching houses. His eyes sight was poor, but his sense of smell never failed him. He smelled adrenaline. Death. He smelled a lone survivor, fending for himself with a makeshift weapon. An easy scavenge, Vulture's primitive thoughts inquired. So he flew down, into alleyways and nooks, looking for- he found him. It was a boy, standing there in awe, staring into his own weapon; A keyblade! Not good, Vulture thought. But he new, maybe not good. So Vulture let his lanky body descend, and he smashed through a wooden ceiling of a house, and through a wall and ended up in the alleyway, when the smoke and wood chips cleared, Vulture stood with an evil, toothless grin, staring at the boy with his yellow eyes that meant certain death. At this, he screeched an evil sounding screech.

Both screeches came to Hawk at the same time... "I see... Two different people have come, hmm? Well, let us see how they enjoy the lovely weather of Traverse Town..." At this, Hawk raised Aerias, which glowed with dark energy. The saturated goo seemed to slop off of the staff as he conjured it's magic. When the head of the scepter had begun to shine with it's dark energy, the skies began to change to an even darker state. Winds picked up, and dark energy sifted through the town. Windows began to shatter, and weak walls tumbled with ease. "There... Eat up, my minions." With the city darkly glowing, and his two bird minions about to feast, he walked onto the ship, and went to his quarters to plan his next move.

"W-what the--!?"
Maddie jumped back at the sight of a large, avian-Heartless hybrid towering above her. It was the biggest monster she had to face yet! But it seemed to be...more aware than its brethren did. It was looking at her, as if it could see her-- not all around, just sensing her. That, she understood at once, made it all the more a threat.
She then remembered how the ruin often reacted to her-- she was a menace to them. Her voice was what made them shy away-- she had a powerful volume to her squawky, stuttery voice, much like her infamous ancestor. The Hatters never did become familiar with the term "inside voice."But this bird...thing...was speaking, too; and however incoherent, she could swear it had at least a human's intellect. So she had to fight it with sheer brawn.
With a sharp grunt, Maddie raised her battleax to rest on her shoulder; she let the staggering weight of the blade pull her arm to it, and within a few seconds she got it in motion. She had to lean against her opposite knee to avoid any knicking of her own head, but with a few good turns she got it to more and more easily swing in a circular motion. She pulled her arm back, still working the motions in a flawed fashion with her skinny fingers; but it stopped too soon. In the time it takes to blink an eye, the giant weapon leapt from her hands and was sent hurling, blade leading, towards the bird.

Raven was not prepared for any combat. In fact, he had expected a quick, clean kill. Even with the difference in this one's heart... it's light that disgusted Raven to the very core... he thought that the kill would be as easy as any other that he had committed in this newly found city. As he took his first step, the small creature lifted a weapon up that was bigger than her... almost bigger than him. He took a step back, and brought his body lower to the ground in an attempt to prepare a parry. If he could parry the large axe with his bladed-feather arms, he could easily counter, and could get this fight started. As the small human... or whatever it was... swung the axe in a circular motion, he could pin-point some flaws in her technique. If he waited for the backspin, he could-\\

The axe took off at him like a missile. Raven was incapable of emotion, but this was not expected. Raven flung his arms down, an tried to use the propulsion for a jump, but he didn't quite make it. In fact, the axe had been skillfully moved in Raven's mind, and seemed to pierce his body, slicing him into two. The top half of his body continued to fly straight up, whilst the bottom half made a flop in weight, and hit the ground, exploding into goo and slowly draining into the cracks of the road. The top half of Raven had a few more seconds of existence. In the last parts of this existence, he could only see the last, surprised look of the one who had caused his first death. And then he vanished. Physically, his body exploded into goo, and flew into the road... slowly draining into the brick road below.

Hawk felt one of his minions go. He sighed. He had a feeling one of them may be who he must fear, but he did not expect to have to recreate Raven so early. Hawk's left eye began to glow green, and it oozed a goo that was similar to a Heartless. However, this goo was glowing more green then it had before. Raven's body was reconstructed, and was in it's exact form it was before. However, this time he appeared more anxious... His antennae had grown longer and became more bent and crooked. His body movements were less subtle, and he would shake violently occasionally. As if with anticipation. To kill.

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

Haha ok! We will continue from there. I hope to see a post from Shaodow soon as well!

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

Don't worry about it, Orba! Your contributions are always appreciated(and applauded by this madwoman). Now I have some upsetting news, and I hope you two can forgive me for this, but I'm going to Cape Cod for a few days. I'll be back late on Thursday-- and believe you me, I'll have ideas to spare! I hope you two can forgive me for this faltering. :c

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

Sorry for the wait, I was gone from the house for awhile! I am back now, and sorry for incorrectly listing where my posts are from, I keep forgetting! They were both meant to be in Traverse Town. I will pay more attention.

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

Orba has returned to us! AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! :D

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

that, i can understand. i'm expecting to see him as well. where IS that bugger...?

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

I was expecting my character to have a run in with Sadist's character, that's why my post is as it is.

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

oh, hello! what, may i ask, might you be waiting for? Kojiro has yet to enter Destati, and then you can do whatever you want. I've actually made room for combat in the story now.

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

Thank you and again, I'm really sorry.

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

Don't worry about it! Thank you for considering us! Enjoy your family time. :)

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

Ok I went to my doctor today and with all the parenting classes I'm about to have to take, I wont really be able to do this rp and the others I am in. I'm really sorry and thank you for your consideration.

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

Well I agree it is a good idea, I just don't know how well I would do with it since I don't have a connection to the character. And I'm glad you like the idea, I should have the profile up soon

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

Well, you don't have to base your Nobody off Shaodow's per se; it was merely a suggestion. Ah, another Wonderhead, I see? Maddison's surely going to take that as a surprise!

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

Ok well I was thinking about it, but honestly I just dont feel too comfortable with that idea. I have a question though, if I create 2 Nobody characters, I will base 1 off of Shadow's character. I am asking for 2 because it would be easier for me to make posts and that way its the the only nobody character. My other nobody, I would like to base off of Alice from Alice in wonderland.

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

You needn't worry, Shaodow: I may leave for a while every now and again, but I'll always come back with more. I'm sure Sadist_Orba will return very shortly as well, and I don't doubt Living-Dead Doll OR Kokonoe. Now, if only we can get back Pichu-Chan...

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

Alright I will, I just get paranoid because recently rps that I have invested considerable time in simply died out for no good reason

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

See? There ya go, Living-Dead Doll, you have your work cut out for you! See what I meant, Shaodow? Just give us time...

Re: Kingdom Hearts: Legends, a fanfiction

I'm ok with someone basing a Nobody after my character for future reference
