Masaaki is the epitome of a typical, snobby, spoiled brat. He believes that everyone should obey his every word and often gets frustrated when things don't happen the way he wants them to. Despite his grandiose behavior, he has yet to meet any objections because he possesses enough skill to back up his words. He also has zero-sense of encouragement, only pinpointing faults and criticizing an unfortunate victim. However, one must know that Masaaki does not shut down someone's work because he fears potential competition, but because it is the only way he knows how to 'praise' anyone at all. Despite being a rich family's heir, Maasaki seems to have a good grasp on saving money and has experience in working odd jobs ever since he began living on his trust fund. At first glance, however, he seems to spend his money without thinking at all.
Masaaki is known to be selfish. Not selfish in a way that he refuses to share material objects with people, no, not at all. He is selfish when it comes to anything pertaining to his spot as the top-dog: He absolutely refuses to let anyone else take the lead in anything. He is selfish when it comes to love: Whatever he says, goes. No retorts, no questions asked. He is selfish when it comes to comfort: If there is only one bed left, he will kick you off it to enjoy it by himself. Masaaki does not mince his words at all, no matter someone's position. He boldly states anything he wants, and this adds to his selfish arrogance.
In spite of his aforementioned traits, Masaaki is quite social and outgoing. He is the type of person who would haggle his way to the cheapest prices at festival markets, to bargain his way to an even higher discount, or to just overall be very at home in the presence of a crowd. Unfortunately, Masaaki potentially suffers from bi-polar disorder. He has all the possible symptoms of manic and depressed states at sudden moments without warning. When a manic episode triggers, he becomes extremely bold and short-tempered, often making stupid, regrettable decisions; when a depressed episode happens, he becomes somewhat of a loner, preferring to spend time alone in his room and paint for the duration of his depressed episode. The sudden changes may become somewhat of a shock for others who are lucky(or unlucky) enough to experience Masaaki going through such episodes.
Despite what people may think, Masaaki is a very steadfast person. He sets goals for himself that he has to achieve no matter what and that is what unleashed his potential in his painting skills. While he may make it seem that he is a born genius when he proudly shows off his paintings, honestly Masaaki just puts an extreme amount of time into perfecting his craft over and over again, time after time. As arrogant as he may be, Masaaki's passion for art is stronger than most of his peers'. He is also known for refusing to fall over despite multiple blows to the head, displaying amazing tenacity.
Masaaki also happens to be a very sarcastic individual that it makes him seem rather condescending when in conversation.
Strengths:
Imaginative Painting
Masaaki has a skill that many value highly: To be able to draw without references. He has a preference for drawing humans and can draw realistic people without the need for a model or photo, creating a unique, one-of-a-kind person in his artwork. He perfectly crafts the facial structure, expressions and overall personalities of his 'human' that it makes his paintings seem alive. Masaaki also prefers to work on large canvases that may span an entire wall in size. He spends a vast majority of his time practicing his painting in order to 'perfect' his paintings. He wishes to create paintings that 'tell a story at first glance' and fills the viewer with emotion.
Gilded Charmer
With wealth and good-looks on his side, Masaaki often pulls various stunts that would have landed other men in prison. He is an incredibly smooth talker that can help him escape certain sticky situations or to add to his advantage in favorable ones. He also has a habit of getting very close into any girl's personal space and speak in whispers into her ears. He is a great diplomat and struck a deal with the landlord. There are not many that are able to resist Masaaki's smooth-talking ways, men and women.
High-Pain Tolerance
Ever heard about how painful appendicitis is when it occurs? Several months before, Masaaki was able to tolerate the pain while he was hard at work at his job. Gradually, his condition worsened and he deteriorated into a wincing, sweating mess of a person at the verge of passing out. That was the worst he had gone through. Masaaki has also tolerated broken bones, twisted ankles, and dislocated fingers, most which he independently set back into place... with little success. While he had to get his bones properly set by professionals, Masaaki's tolerance for pain is highly commendable.
Weaknesses:
Bi-polar Disorder
A situation that Masaaki has come to spite, causing his episodes to grow erratic as his anger towards his disorder makes him spin out of control. To any normal person suffering from the disorder, their manic episodes are usually high moments where the individual may feel a momentary moment of 'invincibility', feeling confident, happy, and prone to making rash decisions. For Masaaki, he may do drastic things, such as threaten someone with a dangerous object or throw punches at someone who annoys him. In contrast, his depressed episodes set him into an eternal cycle of self-loathing and a feeling that whatever he does is never good enough. He locks himself inside his room to paint, tear up his painting despite it's beautiful properties just because of a fault he sees and he paints again. This constant changes between the two extremes of the spectrum is sometimes too much for Masaaki to handle, and possibly too much for others to accept.
Art of the Duck
To concentrate a full amount of time and energy into one discipline often rewards oneself with great results, but at the cost of performing badly at everything else. This holds true even for Masaaki. He is an incredible painter, with a preference for human art. He just plain sucks at everything else. Sketching? Watch him throw a fit and chuck the graphite stick somewhere. Coloring with pencils? Watch him scribble a bunch of colors together and flip out when they don't blend. Digital art? He probably broke a laptop or two, and the art tablet is probably sitting in a junkyard somewhere. Simply put, Masaaki is not good at other disciplines of art, despite his amazing painting techniques.
Great Power, Great Irresponsibility
Despite his high status in life, Masaaki wants nothing to do with his family's business. Growing up and watching his parents constantly at work, too busy with meetings, business partnerships, and multi-million dollar projects to care about the family's dwindling relationship. Masaaki might have been born with a silver spoon in his mouth and he may enjoy the fact that he's rich and that he gets whatever he wants, but he ultimately does not want to follow in their footsteps. He openly defied his parents when they requested his presence in the office, to be formally welcomed as the heir to the Yu-Mei Group. He proceeded to leave the mansion and traveled extremely far from home with his trust fund in order to hide from his impending 'destiny'.

History:
Rich, powerful, selfish, domineering, and devilishly handsome, Masaaki Yamada is no doubt the product of a high-class family. Born as a single child to the owners of the Yu-Mei Group, he was showered with gifts and the permission to command whichever servant he so pleased in the household. This had it's fun when he was younger, ordering servants around the house for absolutely no reason at all, but as he grew older, it lost it's appeal. In elementary, he was jealous of how the other kids interacted with their parents. Happy, jovial banter, encouragement to the highest degree. In the Yamada household, all Masaaki's parents ever wanted to know were his grades and often he would receive alot of criticism for things he did wrong. He came to accept these as his parent's form of 'praising' him. With his parents barely at home, the child took to painting and this eventually became his escape from everything else. He spent a majority of his unreasonably large sum of allowance buying painting supplies and would draw non-stop, going for hours on end. By the time he was in high school, Masaaki had built a large portfolio of paintings, tucked away in another room that solely served to keep his paintings. The paintings often featured a boy and his parents, but never the same ones. Art connoisseurs from all over who are shown his work often comment on the overwhelmingly realistic expressions on the family's faces in the paintings, calling them 'warm', 'welcoming', 'loving'. It seems that Masaaki had poured his entire life's wishes and dreams into each of his paintings: To be loved by his parents.
As he completed high school, his parents brought in business experts to educate him on taking over the business. It was a grueling task that took him away from his painting schedule and day after day he grew to resent the sound of the doorbell ringing, the sight of those mustaches on men with crisply-ironed suits. He came to resent his position as the heir and his lack of freedom. When the day came for the formal announcement of Masaaki as the next-in-line for the Yu-Mei Group, Masaaki disappeared from the mansion and never returned since then. Hiding under the radar, he set up a personal living quarter far away from home and attended a college nearby, albeit with a rather relaxed schedule to allow him to paint as often as he wanted. As a person who was never in love before, he saw couples walking around campus and felt left out. As the spoiled brat that he was, he struck an agreement with the landlord, who had been looking for another tenant. He was going to get a girlfriend. Who was ever going to resist a person such as himself anyway?
