Appearance: Short and raggedly cut cobalt strands that stop just below the crown of his head, a firm built with toned muscles at a towering height of 6' 4" (192cm) that few can match; easily Aomine's two most noticeable physical traits. And then there's the dark complexion to his skin (which had earned him the damn nickname of ganguro), coupled with deep navy hues that take on a strange glimmer on the odd occasion--an occasion one can get a up-close and personal look at as he's draining you of your life to the last drop. Pleasant, isn't it? His signature pieces of attire are his Armani suits with royal blue coloured cuffs; only for work though since they're ridiculously stifling. When left to his own devices he goes for the sporty casual look, usually with a tank and a pair of cargo pants. His weapon of choice (and what he secretly calls his baby) is the Glock 19 9mm, which he always carries two on him at all times.
Personality: Ask anyone who's ever talked or worked with Aomine before and you'll likely get a mix of the following: extremely arrogant, incredibly self-centred, and doesn't work well with others. All of which are entirely true, of course. But if you poked a bit harder and you'll get more opinions along the lines of: highly skilled, the epitome of self-confidence, and great at what he does. All of which are also true. He's arrogant because he has the ability to back it up, he's egotistic because he gets things done and done well, and he works best solo because other people drag him down with how crap they are . Aomine doesn't give a damn about pissing people off; in fact he gets a kick out of it nine times out of ten, that one exception being if the argument drags on for too long since patience definitely isn't one of his virtues. But he's insanely lazy, taking naps wherever and whenever and studiously ignoring any order given to him that isn't from Hanamiya himself; it's only when he heads off for a job that he switches mental gears, into that killer he had learnt long since to embrace. Of course, even killers have secret (or not-so secret) pleasures and Aomine is no different, indulging in physical urges and having a glass of whiskey for company when he's ready for some melancholy.
Background: Aomine grew up in the ghetto area of town, surrounded on a daily basis by images of below-average living stands as he learnt how to scrounge for food and supplies. But he was happy with his life, happy with parents who loved him, who worked hard to feed him and get him into school. It's in middle school when he'd meet his first true friend, his first tether to life in a world completely different from his own. Kise Ryouta was the complete opposite of Aomine; Kise came from a well-off family, always wore the nicest clothes, and had a personality that made it impossible for teachers to not like him. Of course, being the teacher's pet had it's down-side, and Aomine soon found out on complete accident that Kise was target to some bullying. Never one to stand by and let people get ganged up on, even if he was pretty awry of Kise to begin with, Aomine had taken the bullies on and came out victorious. From there it's a text book version of a budding friendship, the two almost always joined at the hips--that is, until Aomine's entire world got turned upside down.
There's always been a high level of crime in his area, born out of negligence from the police that are supposed to protect them; reality is the cops here are all kinds of crooked, taking bribes to turn a blind eye and harassing people for 'protection' fees. Aomine and his parents became targets to the latter, and in the struggle that pursued after his mother refused to relinquish the money both his parents end up being shot dead. Aomine himself had been spared due to the fact that his father had hid him beforehand, but he had a very clear view of everything; the heinous act, piled on top of his almost boiling hatred for the police, was enough to cement his future goal in life--to completely overthrow the entire police faction and kill the man responsible for the murder of his parents. With that lone thought powering him he had survived, relying on his naturally quick agility and instinct to escape from sticky situations. Soon enough he'd built up quite a reputation for himself, honing his skills as he took to doing missionary work in exchange for valuable information, and catches the eye of a mafia member...
Special Abilities:
- Agility: Aomine has an innately fast speed, able to breeze past enemies before they have time to react. There are few that can match him in terms of this and he will always use this to his advantage. Not only this but his reaction time is also incredibly fast.
- Formless Shot: As unconventional as it is, Aomine has a unique skill where he can literally shoot his gun from any position and still land a direct hit. It's neither a fluke nor a lucky shot; if Aomine shoots then he has a hundred percent confidence that it'll hit its target. And the unbelievable thing is? It always does.
- Weapon Flexibility: Even though Aomine favours his close-ranged handguns he is also very capable of using all sorts of other weapons to a pretty high expertise level. Not as good as people who specialise in that area, but Aomine can give them a run for their money if he gets serious enough.
Additional Information:
- Aomine is a very avid drinker of short black coffee, and thinks that anyone who puts milk and sugar into their own coffee is committing blasphemy.
- He doesn't actually give a shit about the mafia itself; for him it's only a medium through which he can bring down the police. If the yakuza weren't so strict about membership then he'd have gone there instead.
